Disrespectful policy / behaviour toward customers
Been shopping at the Jackson Michigan Menards for 20 years. Don't expect to go back there soon, if at all... First I thought it poor policy when, as the "corona virus panic" kicked off, they put up signs restricting access to the store to only those over 16 years. I don't have a child under 16, but that perturbed me... Since the "experts" say that kids are pretty much not carrying it (most have tested negative), and the Gov shut down the schools at the start, how could kids be considered such a threat? Not aware of any other businesses doing this. Could it be that they are worried about the capacity restrictions enforced by the state, want to make sure that only Customers of an age to be able to buy are allowed in? Not Family friendly at all, know of a few who got to the store, were not permitted to come in as a Family, and left to become lifelong Customers of the competetion just a few miles away. Today (5/20/20), I went in, still visiting the store against my gut instinct. I was looking for a new BBQ grill, plan to spend somewhere around $500, was pricing the different stores. I was told I had to wear a mask, per Gov directive. I explained that I had begun wearing a mask when the directive first came out, but that it caused my skin to break out around the edges of my beard. As I cannot see a doctor for this (due to the same Gov directive), and all they can tell me over the phone is to "try hydrocortizone" (which hasn't worked), I am no longer wearing a mask due to medical reasons. The employee asked for proof. I asked if they were an officer of the law, to which they replied no, and I said no, you will either believe me or not, depending upon how you wish to treat a Customer. They said I'd have to leave, so I took my business to the competition (Home Depot and Lowes are both close by, amongst others). I will not be back, unless dire circumstances force me. Menards used to be my "go to" store for the past 20 years, with me using the competition only occasional. I will now reverse that plan, effective immediately, and tell everyone I meet of this. the only resolution I can see them making is to end their poor Customer service, which seems unlikely givien the trend I've observed. Backyard creations
I purchased a Back Yard Creations Patio table on 5/18/18 it was the Boulder Creek table for $500...I have had it covered except when we were using it and the Table is getting pitted. I contacted the company and they told me to go and get epoxy and paint to fix it, Now I would think that it is made for the outdoors that is certainly would last more than 2 years. I think the quality of this companies product is terrible and it is a shame that Menards would sell something that the company would not stand behind. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, Thank you
Wrong item shipped to me
I ordered a rug from Menards on line they sent me the wrong color i have reached out online to try to return the item and nobody responds I will never order anything from them again service is horrible. the general manager reached out to me only to tell me that my package was being shipped in two different shipments but when I reached out to him to tell him out about the problem with being sent the wrong rug absolutely nothing from him crazy huh
Damage merchandise
Its been over a month and I haven't heard from menards regarding my order. My packages was damage and I had sent numerous email and pictures of the damaged shipment. My menards special order (lvld25140)
My package was delivered damage/defective and missing parts. Since I haven't heard back yet, i've verified that menards got the emails in the first place and I wanted to make sure they didn't fall through the cracks.
I am resending the attached pictures as requested...… I have been blocked from sending email to customer service account. Could some one let me know the status of my refund for damaged shipment? To avoid further legal action I would like to received a confirmation.
Buying washing machine
4/15/2020 I bought a washing machine at Camby Menards Camby indiana.
Never treated so bad ever. Woman we bought it from got mad because I didnt want to buy new hoses. Lied to me saying she would void my warranty if I didnt buy them. Went back to pick up washer guy at counter was having a hard time with something else asked me what I needed told him picking up washer he said he would get to me "when he could." bout 5 minutes later he said Cindy was bringing it asked him where he wanted me to wait he said in trk was ok. Went to truck no one came out. Wife went in to check she told me they were still waiting for Cindy to bring it. Cindy was sales person we bought it from. I went to where she was in store and she was still waiting on other people.
Some other guy asked if I had a question and I told him what I was told that she called and said she was bringing it and Cindy said "and I called back and told them I was having trouble getting it." (No body told us that.)
By this time I am VERY mad. I said I wanted a manager and this guy I was talking to said he was a manager (he has no people skills.) I told him I have had it! I want the DAMN (and a few other words) washing machine!
He is a very large man and yes I told him what I thought and I was not nice about it! But I kept walking away from him and he kept following me telling me how rude I was. I really started felling threatened. I went and got in my truck but he kept folowing me. They finnaly loaded the washer. This manager told my wife she had to sign for it inside, that took for ever. I finally got back out to go inside and get her when she came out. We went to the gate to leave and the guy at the gate was having problems checking us out because I was suppose to sign for it there and not inside.
Yes I said some words they didn't like But I will not say I am sorry because I am not. In all it took over 45 minutes from time on receipt to loading it in truck. The manager told me to leave which wasn't a problem and trust me I will never go back in any Menards again. I know one person is never going to hurt your business and I expect this will be just like any other upset customer. I just wanted someone to here this. There is a Lowes just down the road so I will be going there from now on.
Capital one credit card during pandemic
During the current pandemic, capital one (menards big card credit) has offered deferred payments. Be aware however that capital one is charging a "late fee" and "on going compounded accumulated interest" on the outstanding debt! This of course is not directly related to menards, but I want menards to re evaluate its relationship with whom they do business, especially during such vulnerable times. Be advised, as I wasn't, and remember this when capital one looks for their next taxpayer bailout.
Safety and health issue
Please provide corona virus protection for your employees... At least to protect, us, your customers.. Gloves would be a nice start.
Recently at the traverse city store... Coughers and hackers on your sales floor. Masks would be a second choice, and you should have a lot of those.

Sent cat food instead of zinc roofing strips
We placed an order on Menards website and the store employee sent us cat food instead of zinc roofing strips. When I called and talked to a store manager they didn't bother making things right by sending us the correct item and over nighting as promised. It should have been here yesterday and now won't be until tomorrow. Long after we needed it. There is no corporate number to call and complain about the manager who did this. Meaning no oversight or accountability with Menards management at all. The phone number listed on this website isn't even correct. The number listed is for Capital One banking.
Not honoring price that is listed below product
We went into Menards in Lima Ohio, was looking at clearance products in the trim/casing isle. Found some door casing that the ticket below says clearance price was $6.99, reg price was 13.99. I took it to the builders desk to check on a price on another item, it wasnt on clearance. I had the guy check these items that had said 6.99 just to be sure. He said not on clearance. We asked for a manager. He called him and said the manager would not honor it. We asked to see him in person. We showed him the ticket and he said that someone had placed that sale ticket wrongly. He would not honor it. We argued for a little bit but he would not budge. I think that was wrong. Menards should have honored the price to keep our business. We buy alot from this store as we are flipping a house in lima. We live an hour away. The managers name was Oscar. He even said he would discount the items but never came and told us what that would be. We were getting nowhere so we left. I believe that he should have honored the clearance price whether if it was a mistake or not. So to save less than $50 for the company, you have lost our respect and probably our business. Thanks but no thanks Menards.

11% rebate scams
Hello. I agree with most what people wrote about Menards. I spent about $5000 in purchases. I have been waiting for the rebates for over 6 months. I honestly don't think they are ever mailing the rebates checks back. It is not the first time I got screwed by Menards. Thats why I buy and never fill out the forms. what a waist of time to fill out all these forms, mailing them and waiting to win the lotto. Big Scam. What a shame Menards!
Vet discounts
I will start a petition against menards for not giving discounts at register I will tell all my vet buddies to not shop at menards. There is alot of vets out there u realize how much business that adds up to. Rest assured I will get this done it might take awhile to see the effects of it at the register make no mistake about it I will get it done just like all the other company's that did not give discounts to vets. It would be in your best interest to give the discount
Scales
I went to the menards store in new phila ohio. A big box of pig ears for dogs was sitting in an aisle along with plastic bags and scales to weigh them 12.99 a lb. I weighed out a pound took them to register and it it wrang up over 26.oo dollars. Cashier told me the scales by the box were wrong. I find that very misleading and told the cashier if they know the scales dont weigh properly that they shouldn't be sitting there. Very dissatisfied to be charged double for merchandise when you provide bags and scales to the customer but then charge double st the register.
Rebates
This is the 2nd time in one year I never got the rebate I mailed in. This time I saved my receipts. I understand there is a class action lawsuit underway for this problem. Please tell me how to get this rebate now. I really don't want to be a part of that lawsuit. My receipts are dated 10/24/2019. The rebate # I mailed in was 7459. I spent $39.34 on 1 receipt and $32.89 on the other. It was a 11% rebate. They were sent in the same envelope to the same address. The cashier said you could send several rebates in one envelope. Please get this rebate sent to me.

Rebate scam
Menards most recent tv ad says 11% off many times. Totally misleading. I had to chase them for my $370 rebate.
Also remember, if you lose the rebate check your are out of luck. I know they hope people lose their rebate checks happens frequently.
I will not be doing business at Menards again and hope my local small businesses can take business away from them. Eventually it will be Home Depot and Lowe's who wins the home improvement battle.
Unethical behaviour

A Cashier started yelling at my son-in-law Justin Clark, saying your not supposed to be in here. He responded that she must have the wrong person. She said we kicked you out of the store and you weren't supposed to come back. He said you shouldn't be talking to me like that, and she said what are you threatening me? I know its you by the tattoo on your neck. He asked her to go up front to talk to management. She said we are up front yelling the whole time. So Justin left because she was making a scene in front of everyone that was in the store. My son-in-law is in your store at least twice a week, and has spent thousands of dollars there. He is a carpenter and always buys his supplies at your store. You need to make a policy to check someones Id or have an accurate picture of the people thats been banned from the store. you cant go buy someones tattoo or anything. You need accurate proof. This is harassement and ridicule of a customer. something needs to be done. you and Stacy the cashier need to apoligize.
Customer service
We rented a carpet steam iron today 1-2-2020 and the lady made my husband run his card through three times although each time it said approved and remove card. When he came out and told me I checked the bank and it had gone through 3 times. My husband said she was pretty rude. Her name was annie.
When I called back to tell her what had happened she was extremely rude to me also. Therefore I asked for a manager.
I called and spoke to tyler who told me to talk to him when we returned the item later that day and if he wasn't in to talke to leon. Tyler was not in and leon was who we talked to when we brought it back.
He told us it was only charged 1 times even though after checking several times over time it was still on my account. By this time I was getting very angry and I told him I would call the bank and take care of it and we would just start doing our business elsewhere to which he replied "okay, sorry."
We have been doing business at menards for many, many years and had a construction company of our own for years so we have spent a lot of money there. If we had treated our customers like we were treated today we wouldn't have had any customers.

When attempting to order Christmas lights online Menards website provided me with and error indicating the order did not go through. After receiving this I initiated a duplicate order within minutes. Keep in mind these were the exact same order where I am paying shipping charges for both. If I wanted 8 instead of 4 I would have joined them on one order to avoid additional fees. Then I received alerts showing both orders went through. I ordered through the mobile app and attempted to find a contact number but only saw a cancel request option. (This was very frustrating by the way, why not have an option to call) I immediately attempted to cancel the order using their request form ( again another point of abrasion, why not an easy way to cancel and order through the order confirmation email, what's the point of having a order cancel request form if it doesn't work. Especially if it doesn't work when submitted within minutes of ordering. And don't give me some BS of since we try to ship so fast it didn't leave enough time. I tried to cancel in 2-3 mins of ordering.) I even emailed them to again outside of the request to cancel the order prior to shipping. They contacted me back stating they would try. What try? I attempted to cancel within minutes of ordering. Let's not forget I only ordered again because the website directed me to. This was not an accidental reorder on my part I intentionally reordered. I did this because your website stated there was an issue ordering so please try again. Now I have two orders of the same thing. I have paid extra shipping charges. And the only resolution offered is to pay additional shipping to return these and still be out my initial shipping to me. Since then I have sent 3 emails to customer service asking for someone with authority to resolve this to call me back, So far no one has. (On 5th day currently) This is crazy. Unless a reasonable solution is offered I will be, this will be my first and last time ordering online from this company and I will also never visit the stores. I will bash this company every chance I get to whoever I speak with. I will also teach my 3 young kids to not shop at this store. My family alone will represent 10 of thousands of potential lost revenue over their lifetime. This company will ultimately be at the losing end of this deal over a 50$ order with 11$ shipping. At this point I am more frustrated with the lack of response/follow through that the lost money. I will continue to use Home Depot where I am still provided some level of service.

I sent in our rebate which should be 46.56 on 10-18-19.
Never received it and not showing up on the rebate tracker. We have never had a problem with smaller rebates but would like to know what's going on. Could you please check to see it got misplaced?

classic decor nickel towel ring
I purchased 2 of the Classic Decor Brushed Nickel Towel Rings # 675=0127. There are no pictures or specific instructions indicating that the mounting plate goes with edges up. I am so mad and both me and my father as well as other shop here. But if you can;t sell products that are specific even for a person like me trying to survive after a deceased partner then your organization is worthless. There are alot of women out there trying to survive but we are not men and we do not have carpentry background. Look I dont undersTAND.
