Menards cashier

I was at Menards East in Eau Claire on 7/9/19 at about 6:45pm. We were ready to check out & seen a cashier on register 8 that didn't have her light on so figured she was closing up & proceeded to another register. On our way to that register, we noticed a guy proceeded to check out at her register so we walked back over there. We get up in line & she says that she is closing up her register so we proceed to a different register. As we are waiting in line to check out, we see her start to check out another guy at her register. I found this downright rude & discriminating.

Menards management and false advertising

A grill that was price as 49.00 end up being 149.00
I notice a cute little grill on the floor that said 49.00 soo told my husband to stand right there let me find someone to assist me it took about 5 min or so but that's fine the staff came over and said it was that last one and it was price so low to get rid of it and that was the last one.. I'm not done shopping so I'm walking around the store for about 20-min with this grill because he said it's the last one... we get to check out and the cashier was that's a good price 49.00 is there anymore I'm like nope this is it ...
so she's trying to ring it up but can make out the Sku number she tried about 8 times and then her coworker look at the label and tried 4-5 times so the manager came and tried 3 times .. same thing good price .. after going to the service desk he comes back and say it's 149.00 I explain what was told to me and what I see in this label as he agreed but "some how I guess the number 1 faded but we go by the sku number but dang they had to put it in about 15-20 times total ..
I ask well I can't get it for the price that it say he replied No we go by the sku number and we have 15 left ... so I'm walking around this store for 20 min with a grill y'all have 15 more of in the box .. mind you I'm rolling this grill around with me15-20 min pushing my Kart and pulling this grill in the other hand ... so I ask to speak to a manager because this is not right ... he replied very nasty there is no one above me ...
I'm requesting a call back between me and my husband we spend maybe 2-5, 000 a month with manards without properties .. this behavior is not fair ...
I did However buy the grill because this process was so embarrassing With all them people in line behind us ..
I have a video and the sticker .. that was on the grill he requested it but I need Corp to look at this tag ..

Menards mastercraft doors

We purchased an expensive Indoor/Outdoor door for our sunroom in 2016. The air seal has failed and now the glass is continually foggy. The manufacturer is sending a new door with "simple" instructions on how to replace the heavy glass insert. This looks like a disaster waiting to happen. They obviously know about this quality issue, and should be prepared to send a $100 check to pay for the two hours of handyman service needed to replace. MasterCrap.

Menards front end manager price match compliant

I need corporate complaints. I purchased the Summer Waves Elite Frame Pool from Menards in Crest Hill, IL 6/24/2019 for $297. I saw it today 6/30/2019 in the Walmart store in Romeoville, IL for $196 Rollback price and they had 3 sitting there in stock so I wanted the store to price match it. I checked the price on Walmart.com and it shows $277. I called Menards in Crest Hill, IL at 8:05am and spoke to Brandi and explained what I saw, she said they would check the online price, I told her that I checked it and it shows $277 online but I took a picture of the display showing the pools and the price. She said just bring it in to the service desk by the registers and the manager would be able to assist me with the price match. I came into the store and approached the service desk where the rebate center is near the registers at Menards in Crest Hill, IL. and Becca the Front end manager was there. She had a very unwelcoming look on her face. She immediately told me that she would check the online price. I told her what Brandi said on the phone and she said they can only go by the online price. I told her I wouldn't have driven all the way to the store if Brandi hadn't told me that [censored](the only "curse" word I used throughout the conversation. She explained again the store can only go by the online price. At this point I'm livid, she called Brandi over and she confirmed what I said, I was still told the same story. She said she can't help me if I'm using curse words (4 mins after I said [censored]) I told her I'm upset and I haven't cursed at her. I proceeded to explain to her that she had a look on her face the whole time from the tone I approached the counter as if she didn't want to help me. She then says, "well we have it on sale for $169 so if you like, you can take your receipt to the service desk on the other side of the store and get a store credit for the difference. I snatched the receipt and went to the service desk. I get to the service desk and the young lady tells me the pool is $269 and not $169. At that point I'm boiling. I told the young lady to go ahead and ring it and I'll write to corporate about Becca and her rudeness along with the misinformation that Brandi provided me with. Please have someone from corporate call me back to discuss this matter!

Thank you,
Sherrell Terrell

Menards special order delivery

On 06/16/19 we placed a special order for a vent free fireplace on order KALA30306030 at store # 3150, after we had checked with Menards over 1.5 months earlier while in the planning phase to see if this product was available, and assured that it was. However, at 8:15 pm on June 26 we receive a voicemail from Menards stating this order has been canceled as it is no longer supplied by your vendor. This is all after we had downloaded the specs from your website and began the demolition and building IT TOOK 11 DAYS FOR US TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE VENDOR NO LONGER MAKES THIS PRODUCT? In the meantime, our house has been torn apart waiting for this delivery. Walls have been removed and we are in full construction mode waiting for this delivery. I understand this was a special order, but if the order had been placed when paid for, we would have found out that we couldn't get this product and we would have not started the demolition. There isn't much for Menards to do for us other than refund us, which they stated they would be doing, but my frustration level is to the point of not wanting to make Menards my first choice of stores whenever I have a large project to be completed ever again.

Menards [protected]" pulsar push mower

The bolts for the wheels on this mower do not fit. Just that simple. didn't even get gas in it or oil cause I couldn't get wheels on. More Chinese junk from Menards. wow. when I took it back they said they couldn't take it because I bought it at the other store in Lafayette Indiana. So not their problem. so they would check with hardware to see what they can do. I told hardware guys if he could get the bolts on I would keep it. He couldn't. I had to wait multiple times while they handed it back and forth and then the final insult was they wouldnt put the refund on my card because it was bought at another store. Did Menards start franchising their stores and no one told me? this sucks. Attorney General next.

Menards employee biased behavior

Unethical behavior,

I visited your North Ave store in Melrose Park Illinois 6-23-19. The time was between 8:45 p.m. to 930p.m. I was looking around in your outdoor plant and landscaping department. One of your staff who was working in outdoor plants, a middle aged spanish woman, displayed offensive behavior when dealing with me as a customer. She made me wait longer than normal while she affectionately talked to and helped another individual well over the normal time period you would spend with a customer. Her conversation strayed away from the ordinary conversation of customer service. ( I was told to wait abruptly and short. I not sure why she responded in that manner but I was made to feel she didn't want be bothered helping me. When she finally did respond to me, it was a rude and short, what do you want? I advised her a cedar planter. She responded we have them appearing very annoyed and agitated. I had to ask where were they located in the store. Again, she answered with same the same biased attitude. She gave me an isle number and dismissed me to continued her customer service elsewhere with the same individual whom she had made me wait for insignificantly, as she discussed nothing of value pertaining to customer service and help. The bottom line, she rude and made me feel quite uncomfortable and unworthy of being serviced by her.

I must say it took a lot not to react negatively but I felt your store must be made aware of this individual working for you. This sarcastic, rude, middle aged, woman working in your outdoor plant department was too much to ignore. Ironic, but I was truly offended by her response to me a customer who was just asking where a I can find an item. I usually shop at your store at least 3 times a month and I won't be subjected to racist behavior by your employees while I am at the store.

I would like for you to find out who this woman is and respond accordingly. That type of racist and biased behavior is unacceptable.

I feel this needs to be addressed by your store immediately. Thank you

The bottom line, she was rude and made me feel quite uncomfortable and unworthy of being serviced by her. I have thick skin, so I don't offend easy but she definitely got her point across.

Menards rude employees, employes not being helpful

My boyfriend and I came in to Menards located at 902 Erskine Plz, South Bend, IN 46614 on Saturday June 22, 2019. We purchased a couple of tools, screws and blades due to us installing carpet and hanging our stairwell railing. We noticed a Stack on Armor guard 40-gun fire rated safe (SKU #4808932) with a price tag of $399.00 with $100.00 rebate on top of the safe. We were looking inside of the safe and trying to latch the door. Just checking the safe out and making sure the safe worked. Well, the safe door wasn't latching. We flagged down an employee, Adam, to assist us. He was in the middle of helping another customer, so he said he would be right back with us. Not a big deal. While waiting, another employee, Ben, approached us and asked if we needed help. We explained to Ben that the safe door wasn't latching. Ben messed with the door for about 10 minutes, trying to enter the combination to latch the safe. The pin pad would work for 2 seconds, then stop and work for 2 seconds, then stop. Ben even got a new battery to see if that was the problem. My boyfriend said to Ben "The combination shouldn't have to be entered to latch the safe. The safe should be able to latch and then the combination should have to be entered to unlatch the safe." Ben replied with "I don't know. I didn't make this safe." My boyfriend and I just looked at each other because we thought that remark was rude. We asked Ben if there were any safes in the back since we didn't see any extras on the floor, besides the floor model. Ben went in the back and checked. There were none in the back. The floor model was the last one in stock. We asked Ben if he could give us a discount on the safe since it was the floor model. He grabbed the price tag off the top of the safe, said "Let me check." (So, Ben knew that we thought the price for this safe was $399.00 with a $100.00 rebate.) He went in the back for about 30 seconds and came back and said "No." We asked Ben if he could check other Menards close by to see if they had the same safe. Ben told us Menards in Mishawaka (located at 365 W University Dr, Mishawaka, IN 46545(had 1 safe and Menards in Goshen (located at 1925 Lincoln way E, Goshen, IN 46526) had 9. My boyfriend and I drove to the Mishawaka Menards and come to find out they did not have the same safe! We left and headed to Goshen. On our way, we called Mishawaka Menards and asked if they could give us the SKU # for the safe we wanted. The employee gave us the SKU #4828978. We asked twice if that SKU # was for the Stack on Armor guard 40-gun fire rated safe and the employee reassured us that it was. We get to the Goshen Menards and we do see 9 safes, but none of them are the safe we were asking about! We flagged down an employee and he enters the SKU #4828978 in the system and it brings up the Sports Afield 30 gun fire safe, which is not the safe we were looking at! We were given the wrong SKU #! So, we said just forget it. We drove 45 minutes to Goshen for nothing. The next day Sunday June 23, 2019 my boyfriend did some research on the Stack on Armor guard 40-gun fire rated safe and figured out that there was a screw in the back of the safe that needed to be taken out in order for the pin pad to work and to be able to latch the safe door. My boyfriend was at work, so he called me and explained to me what he learned about the safe and I called the South Bend Menards to ask if they still had the Stack on Armor guard 40-gun fire rated safe for $399.00 with $100.00 rebate on the floor display. Jim, the employee who answered said yes, they have it, but he was told it was malfunctioning when two customers came in yesterday. I explained to Jim that my boyfriend and I were the two customers yesterday and that my boyfriend did some research and found out about the screw. I told Jim we would be in around 4:00p.m. to purchase the safe. We get to the store and find the safe and notice that the safe door is latched. After I hung up with Jim, they must have looked for the screw like I told them was in the back of the safe and got the pin pad working. We get to the South Bend Menards and see Adam and he stops to help us. We didn't see the $399.00 with $100.00 rebate price tag on top of the safe anymore. Adam took us to talk to Jim. Jim said he would have to talk to the Assistant General Manager to see if they could sell us the safe for the price we thought it was. While Jim was off talking to the Assistant, Adam was talking with us and searched the safe and showed us on the screen that the Stack on Armor guard 40-gun fire rated safe was $749.00. Jim gets back and tells us the Assistant said he could do $750.00 for the safe. We told him, Adam just showed us that the safe was already that price! Jim said Adam must have been looking at the wrong one because that safe is $999.00. After all of that we did not buy the safe. I felt we were just being given the run around! I feel we were cheated out of the $399.00. They thought the safe was malfunctioning and dropped the price to $399.00 thinking they could sell it. Once we told them about the screw in the back of the safe they raised the price back up and removed the $399.00 price tag. I truly believe that, and I think that is so unprofessional and unethical. We spend a lot of money at Menards. We even have a credit card through Menards and to be treated the way we were, is ridiculous. We will never shop at Menards ever again.

Menards masterforce 20v brushless 1/2 " drill driver

Mornin'

My name is Patrick O'Brien, and I live at 8421 E. Ramel Rd in Solon Springs WI. I am also a Menards Contractor Card holder # [protected]. The purpose of this complaint is about 18-20 months ago, I purchased this Flexpower model 241-0461 for household use. I'd be lying if I told you I've used it more the a dozen times, as it's in absolutely "new" condition, but setting that aside, I noticed that it started losing power or it was intermittently powering up or if at all. So, I took it back to the Menards store in Superior where I purchased it, and asked if I could get this drill either fixed or replaced. I like the drill, but the gal said that they don't fix them, and the model is not manufactured anymore. So, I asked for a replacement, or some kind of pro-rata credit that I could purchase another. She advised me that if I didn't have the receipt, they couldn't do anything. Well, like most people, who saves receipts unless really a big ticket item. In any event, I didn't have my receipt, and I'd still like to get this drill repaired or replaced with a similar model. If you would like to contact me, my cell # is...[protected]. Thank you for your consideration. O'B

Menards cashier

The cashier, Sarah at the Madison West Menards was done with her shift before I got to the check out at 830pm on Saturday. I noticed her body language with the previous customer she was not having it anymore. She looked annoyed and grumpy. Stand with her arms crossed looking impatient like she wanted to be done. Tossing items as scanned and hitting buttons. Not friendly at all. I have worked in customer service and I get it some days are pure hell, but still no excuse. Maybe she needed to step away for a few mins. I made eye contact with the lady behind me and she too noticed the cashiers frustration.

Menards products and service

I will not be shopping the Kenosha, WI store anymore. The people at the Kenosha store are inexperienced and not helpful. The last 5 times I have gone to the store, employees did not know how to find a product at their store. I find it on my computor at home but they can't find it on the store monitor. When I find something I want, especially in the plumbing dept. they are out of it. They'll tell me " It shows we have 17 left in stock" but they never reorder when I check 5 weeks later. I then have to run to the Racine, WI store which always has the product. The Racine store is Managed very well! Then there is the lines at the check-out 10 deep with 3 lines open. I just set my stuff down and walk out. I go to Lowes which is very close... find everything I need and zoom through the self check out. I have spent thousands at the Kenosha store over the last 20 years, but no more. Good Luck Menards with your problems. I don't have to get mad anymore.

Menards rebates

Menard's rebates are an absolute scam. First, they make you wait for 6-8 weeks, and then you may or may not ever get the rebate. I sent in two rebates; one arrived eight weeks later and I never got the other one. The one that did arrive was disguised in the form of a folded ad, and could have easily been disregarded as junk mail and trashed by me or someone else in my family. The rebate also was not a check that I could cash, it had to be used towards merchandise at one of their stores. And it was only for certain types of merchandise not all types . Menards is obviously trying to get people to send in for the rebates, fully knowing that will never have to pay most people. I will be thinking twice before I shop there again.

Menards delivery never received

Due to a fire at my house, we are doing a remodel. I went to Menards in Casper, WY and purchased a microwave and a dishwasher. I special ordered a refrigerator and a stove and paid for delivery for these items. While on vacation I received a call informing me that the items were in and a delivery date needed to be scheduled. I scheduled that for Saturday, June 8th in the morning. I called the store in the afternoon because I had not heard anything and was informed that the driver was on his way back from out of town and would be getting ahold of me to deliver that evening. I never heard anything. We needed to purchase some other items so we went to the store on Sunday, June 9th and purchased the items we needed. We then went to delivery to find out about the items that should have been delivered. At that time we were informed that they attempted to reach us on Saturday by calling my cell phone. I show no missed calls on my phone nor were there any messages left. They said they then showed up at the house and no one was home. We have not lived there since the fire. We were informed that the one attempt was all that would be made and that they would not refund the delivery charge. We loaded the appliances in the truck and then went back inside and returned all of the items we had just purchased. I will also be returning the dishwasher and microwave this evening. We spoke with several employees and managers and were told there would be no refund of the delivery charge. I feel this is very poor consumer care and very poor management. Needless to say, Menard's has lost all other business from me.

Menards electrical

My name is Jennifer Marshall and today, 06/04/2019, at around 1PM the St Joseph, Missouri Menards I asked for help in the electricial department.

What I needed was a thick cable to use for a car batter cable. All I asked was where are your wires and the gentlemen asked "what are you trying to do?" This was fine that the gentleman was going above and beyond what I was asking but I did not have time to chat with the gentleman and all I wanted was for him to point me in the direction or to tell me which isle I where I can find the electricial wires.

Prior to this I was in the automotive section looking for a battery wire but they only had small wires and I needed a longer wire.

Then the gentleman took me to the automotive section and told me to use a wire for the tow lights. I aready knew this wire would not work because it was too thin and I mentioned to him again that "I need a wire to use for a battery cable." And his response was "this is what you are looking for." Then he continued and stated "I have been in the automotive business for 20 years. Maybe you should have one of your boyfriends help you."
I would have been Ok that he was incompetant and that all he needed to do was to point to the wires but he did not need to be so rude.

I'm considering posting this to social media today thus others will not have to be harmed by his rudeness.

Have a nice day! Menards is one of the best places I shop at however this gentleman made my experience almost like a living hell.

Have a good day!

Menards service checking out

I tried to pay for 6 bags of mulch then go pick them up. No longer possible.
Next I looked for an empty large cart with which to push them to the check out. Walking around I never found one!
AFter finally getting the mulch and paying for it I complained to to supervisor who told me I should have gone to the Lumber desk, which I had done, but no one was there. That was her best excuse...that I had gone to the wrong place not that she should have had an employee there?!
I'm 85 years old and I'm so grateful for the good help I get at Home Depot and Lowes!

"I will be better at closing" and "I'm sorry I asked" and "you can probably fix it with some glue" were actually things that were said to us by employees. The store...

Menards mastercraft exterior door

We purchased a mastercraft door in july 2018 from menard's in virginia mn. This door was a display model, which we paid $1, 100.00 for. A couple of days ago, the 3 point lock system failed. We could not open the door from the inside, nor the outside of our cabin. To get the door to open, we ground the lock off. Currently, we need to use a crowbar to get in, and a crowbar to get out. What has corporate menard's provided for us? The reason that we bought a "display" model, and it isn't under any warranty. Warranty? That is well beyond the basic scope of this problem. This is a serious issue, of being locked in and locked out. We bought a door that is defective. Why would menard's sell a display unit if it isn't going to work?
As is. Uh huh. Gotcha. We'll be furthering our request for compensation.

LIP SERVICE - for compensation. After purchasing a Mastercraft Exterior Door in July 2018, the 3 point lock system failed in May 2019. To exit our cabin, we crawled out a window. The lock was stuck, and inoperable from the inside and outside. This door was BRAND NEW, on an end cap at the Virginia MN Menard's store, and considered a "display" or "bargain", "as is" unit. This door NEVER left the store until we bought it. YES, a bargain at $1, 100. Hence Midwest Manufacturing will not compensate us for this DEFECTIVE DOOR. Why sell ANY product if you can't cover your liabilities for a FAILED item? Lip service from company reps is the compensation that was offered.

Menards 25 percent "restocking" fee on "special" orders and rude customer service staff

Ordered the wrong kitchen sink online, returned the unopened box to the Eden Prairie, MN store three days later and was charged $54 because it was a special order? What is "special" about ordering a sink online? Most of Menards stock must be ordered online as it is not in stock in the store. Plus, the customer service staff at the returns desk are giving new meaning to the old adage, " adding insult to injury." Won't be shopping at Menards again. There is something really wrong with the culture, attitude and policies of this company and I suspect it originates at the top and permeates throughout.

This is a HUGE issue. There is nothing indicating that an item is a special order unless you click through a certain number of screens and even then, it is in exceptionally small print and very confusing. I am in a similar position and have filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency in Wisconsin for deceitful business practices. What state are you in? I am going to be filing a small claims court case in my situation, and I wonder if a "class action" suit may be a better way to hold this bad company accountable. I am happy to be contacted about this, and am not sure if this site will allow me to put my email here, but will try. nzuider@sbcglobal.net Please get in touch. If enough of us have had this issue, a class action suit may be the way to ensure that Menard inc pays for their deceit.

Menards Appliance

05/12/2019
Our wall oven went out. We looked online and found one we liked at the Owensboro Kentucky store. My husband called the store and talked to a guy named Sean to ask if that store had the oven. The store associate verified the oven was there and even read the stock number off to my husband on the phone. My husband told the associate that he would be there to purchase the oven. The store associate told my husband that he would take the oven to the front of the store for purchase and pick up. We live an hour and a half away and my husband drove all the way there to find out the product was NOT the wall oven that he was told they had. The oven was going to be a surpise for me for Mothers Day. So just imagine the fustration and anger to drive 3 hours total. We have purchased alot of product from Mernards. I know it doesnt mean anything to you all because we are just the little people but it does to us. I will remember this when friends and family ask about Mernards.
