Menards the sorry service for handicapped persons

I went to the store at 6:30 AM Saturday after Black Friday and they only had one handicap scooter and it wasn't working. It seems they don't want customers that can't walk. I have acute arthritis and can only walk a short distance. I have complained about this before and was told they would check into it but there have been no results. It is very disappointing not to be able to shop the sales like everyone else. I was planning to purchase several Christmas presents.

Menards water heater gas

I purchased it back in July of this year. August 20th my mother in law had a heart attack which made all my home projects go on hold until a week ago. I didn't need a new one so I tried to return it but it was over 90 days. Still in box and never opened. Have sale receipt too. They will only give a in-store credit which I will never use. I don't need anything in the store. I have only been in the store maybe 5 times. Michigan has a law that most consumer do not know about which will be my next step. I should be pressured to spend money unnecessary.

Menards damaged product via home delivery service

My husband and I were in the market for new stainless steel appliances. After much research at various stores, both "box stores" and small shops, we selected Menards because of the new "ship to home" service. We were told this service became available to reduce the chances of receiving damaged products. That, plus competitive pricing, helped us to determine that this would be our best option.

If we only knew then what we do now. It all started when JB Hunt was to deliver our new appliances on Wed, Nov 13. They never showed up. We called several times throughout the day for updates and were told that our appliances were on the truck for delivery. After our third call, we were told the delivery was still scheduled for "between 2:15 and 6:15 PM". By 6:45, we had to call again only to be told the driver had exceeded his hours for the day and we wouldn't be receiving our appliances. They arranged for delivery the following day, which means I had to rearrange my work schedule yet again to accommodate.

On Thursday, Nov 14, our delivery arrived. The drivers began unpacking our appliances (three total: refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range) and let me know right away that the gas range was damaged with a big dent and showed me a picture. I refused delivery. So disappointing, especially when we had been without a range because we were waiting for the new install. To top it off, we had paid for installation of the range but were then told they wouldn't install ours because it needs the conversion from natural gas to LP.

Our first order took one week from order to delivery. Our replacement won't show up now until NOVEMBER 27.Two weeks later. We are without a range because of damaged goods and our order can't be expedited. Why? Because, apparently, deliveries are only made to our area on Wednesdays. Apparently, our new range won't be ready (really, it's made-to-order?) until Thurs, Nov 21 which means it can't be shipped until the following Wed.

As the consumer, I honored my "contract" when I purchased appliances from Menards in good faith, for new, undamaged products. Menards didn't honor its end of the deal, with delivery of a product that was damaged and then inconveniencing me by not expediting a replacement. I'm beyond frustrated with this whole process and I will do what I can to spread the word for consumers to purchase appliances elsewhere. We haven't been offered a credit, an expedited order of our range so it's ready prior to Thurs, Nov 21, nor a heartfelt apology. I have a lovely gap where my range should be and I'll now have to rearrange my work schedule AGAIN for the next delivery, assuming it even shows up next Wednesday like it should. The first delivery certainly didn't. We haven't received a credit for the gas range install which couldn't happen because the range was damaged...and WON'T happen, because of the conversion.

This whole experience is a Menards fail.

I'm hopeful that my update will increase the rating for Menards Customer Service? It certainly should! I also wish I could go in and update my original star rating, but I can't seem to do that. I would update this to FIVE STARS, without a doubt.

AN IMPORTANT UPDATE: I have some very promising news to share as an update to my original post about the home delivery service from Menards. Menards must have circulated my email (I sent the same "story" to a customer service email), which made it up the chain at Whirlpool, who then reached out to JB Hunt. JB Hunt went above and beyond to correct our delivery issue! They made a special delivery on a Friday, so that we would receive our replacement range the day after it was ready at the manufacturer. Prior to that delivery, they called with an apology for the original delivery fiasco. After the replacement delivery, they called to make sure everything went okay and that we were happy with the service. Bravo JB Hunt! In addition, Whirlpool contacted Twin Cities Appliance out of Hopkins, MN. Tim K from Twin Cities Appliance contacted my husband to let us know he was sending one of his professional installers (thanks Jared!) to convert our new range from natural gas to LP and that he would work with the JB Hunt crew on instructions for the conversion/install. They arranged for the installer to arrive when the JB Hunt team was here. Bravo to both Whirlpool and Tim K from Twin Cities Appliance! Seriously, I'm beyond impressed with how this situation was rectified! I'm so incredibly happy to know that true customer service still exists! I can't thank everyone enough, from Menards, to Whirlpool, to Twin Cities Appliance for your exceptional customer service and subsequent support. My gratitude and appreciation to you all. Thank you.

Menards special orders

11/01/19 I ordered and verified for the 3rd time my order. I still received the wrong item and when returning it was nothing but a disaster with the Manager at Menards in Ottumwa, IA. What a totally rude, disrespectful, coward hiding behind his employees while yelling at me!. I will not be ordering anything from Menards at any time! If it's not on the shelf, I don't want it! I will find somewhere else to get it! After spending over $40, 000 this year there, we just moved to the area this year. It's plain discussing the treatment and the lack of knowledge and customer service there by the manager!

Menards rebates international

On July 3, 2019 we purchased materials for a deck totaling $9733.51 and turned in rebates for the decking boards which we received. The next week the 11% was advertised so I went back and got the form for the 11% price adjustment and told to send in original store receipt, they even made me a copy so I could send original which I did. I calculated the 11% adjustment would be around $671 but on August 1 I was issued a refund for $6.93. We did return some items totaling $256 and $322 . I have contacted Rebates International and they said I didn't send the original receipt, I replied that I did and to please review this and they sent back that I did not follow the guidelines and no rebate will be issued. Of course I have no way to prove I followed instructions other than for this amount involved why would I risk not following the rules? I realize I won't get the $671 because of the returns but still a significant amount is due back to me. Is there anything else I can do? V Keesbury

The same thing happened to me! Now, had I returned the order, then bought it again, I would have received the 11%. I had an adjustment because the siding went on sale, so according to Menards, it voided the rebate. And, the adjustment was NOT put on the card I used, it was a store credit! Menards is ripping people off constantly! I wont ever buy from them again!

Menards customer service manager

The company always advertises will match product costs. Ok so exact model number on a nail gun from Lowe's and manager refused to match a $30 difference. As we just spent $1500 there. We had to travel for the better price same
Product! They claim because of the 11% special was going on. Ok so u mark up the pricing that much? Truly an aha moment of disappointment in Menards😑

Menards building supplies

I called prior to making the almost 3 hour drive from my house. Asked if they have green metal roofing in stock to which the guy on the line replied yes we do. So I make the drive to find out you don't have cap for the green metal roofing. For some reason when I asked if he had green metal roofing he didn't think I would need a cap for my metal roof. The manager then came over who wasn't much help I mean what could he say. I asked for free delivery as it would be snowing soon and I needed it ASAP. So it was tue the 22nd that day they said they have a guy that comes up by me every wed. Thursday the lastest. Well thurs comes and goes and I finall call yesterday to ask what exactly is going on up there. Mind you this is 11 days after I purchased my product. They say that he came up here and had no way to contact me so I didn't get my cap. I gave the girl at the counter my information before making my order and seeing the manager on the 22nd so I know for sure they had my information. So now here we are the 3rd and still no cap and there is 2 inches of snow on the ground outside. This was on top of the fact that the supply yard guys are not very helpful unless you wave them down and say hey come help. And also being sold outter foam enclosures that were not in stock had to go back inside to collect refund on that. Very disappointed.

Menards mastercraft sliding glass door

I purchased a new Mastercraft sliding glass patio door from the Menards store I'm Danviile. After the door was installed by my contractor we noticed a part of the weather stripping was folded in from being out together in the factory.

I spoke with And Andrew at the Menards store and he advised he could get the part for me to put on myself as they do not provided repair services. He then showed me how he would take off the wood surrounded by the rubber by prying it out with a screw driver. I noticed that the wood was stapled in during factory and by trying to repair it myself I knew it wouldn't go back together like it should have in the factory.

I asked what my next option was since he already said that Menards couldn't do anything about it, he said I could fill out an Install complaint form, which I did and he advised he will add the additional information needed and send it off to the company Mastercraft.

It has been several weeks and I haven't heard anything and I contacted Our Menards store again and spoke to a Bo which he advised there was no information or record of any form being filled out and sent in and I would have to do the process all over again.

I purchased this door new and paid over $1, 100 and I feel I am not getting the service needed to correct this issue. I feel like the process is just being prolonged in hopes that I would just forget about it. Again, I bought this new and I'm not sure who to talk to or what to do moving forward.

Menards electrical

I had to go to 3 different menards stores to get my 8-3 wire. 2 of the stores were out and the only reason I kept going to menards was for the 11% rebate but I probably spent half of that in gas.
I tried the one by my house which never has anything the one by work then I tried the one halfway to work. That one had it.
I bet they had plenty of stoves, Mattresses and food but I thought it was build material or hardware store.
They try to carry so many different things but the things they should have they are out of or the selection is very poor.

Menards customer service

Unless Menards is the only home improvement store left on the planet, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Their customer service is the absolute worst. In the middle of a remodeling project, the porcelain tile I purchased from them was discontinued. Not only was my local store out of the product, but the closest store was five hours away. They refused to ship any to another store or to my house. I went through several general managers, both at my local store and the stores who carry the product and each one of them said it is a ridiculous Menards policy that they can not interstore transfer. Get with it Menards - you can and should easily do this! I am now at a crossroads with having to drive five hours for the tile or bust up my existing project and start over. If it is the latter, I can assure it WONT be with Menards tile.

Menards rebate scam

Since first of the year I been sending in slips for rebates with no response an as of april I started making copies before sending an even resent them since with no response an after talking to management decided needed to go to web for more info an see I am not the only one having this problem an would like to join others in a class action litigation on this matter for fraud is a crime in many states an this sure fits as the lies an deception that is happening here an the size of losses to many others this matter needs the upmost attention before is gets any worse...

Menards 11 % Rebate

Never received my rebate, was told Menards sent it so they stopped check and resent and now they are saying my Minnesota Rebate was redeemed in Holland, Ohio. I sent my rebate in during promotion period 5/29/19, and today it's 10/25/19, almost 5 months ago.
Obviously something is wrong, how can my rebate be redeemed by someone else in another State ?
Please review and correct the situation.

Menards an employee

My name is Roni Baber. My husband started his own business around 2007. As a women I never worried that going to your store would end up ruining my marriage. One of your employees deliberately would complain about her husband and her marriage attempting to draw my husband into her troubles. It's been a very humiliating experience. I did not at first think of her as a threat, but after many years it seems she deliberately and with knowledge of his marriage to me continued to cause me a great deal of distress and would suggest when I left because of the painful situation would suggest that I shouldn't be allowed home. This employee Carol Kruse in the Altoona iowa store has caused me to now face a divorce. I wonder how many of your employees find it open season on married men. She has taken my life and it's devastating.

Menards store staff

Went to purchase some rock salt. Looked around store with no luck, stopped store employee for assistance. Was helpful looking it up on the computer and told me it was in the garden department. I went looking for it and no luck again. Asked another employee and they didn't know and went to ask someone. They sent me to the outside south yard, no luck finding. I asked the yard employee and they had no clue. I left and went to Home Depot, walked in store, found within three minutes and purchased. Menards needs an employee coaching and training program!

Menards handicap customer service

I went in to the Fairfield Twp, Butler Co, Ohio (#3274) store as I do at least 3 times a week. I needed a plumbing part so I went in the first door where I know the plumbing supplies are. My wife and I are handicapped and cannot walk long distances, so I parked in the handicapped spot closest to the first door. I got my item and went to counter closest to where I was parked and the young woman at the counter was quite rude and said "I will check you out this time, but this is NOT a checkout. It is a return counter." I can see my car in the handicapped parking spot from the counter area. I have checked out this way many times when I have one item. I was very upset and drove down to the other door where the customer service desk is and spoke to the manager. He said that counter is not for checking out due to security reasons. He said "We have handicapped parking spots on this side where the checkouts are." That is all well and good, but my car won't miraculously appear at the other door and I don't know if I can physically hike around the store just to check out.

If it is for security reasons, that is ridiculous. If you don't have cameras everywhere, then you are fools. If I am paying for one item, then your security is not at risk with me.

We have rental property so we have spent a lot of money at Menard's. Love the store, just hate how big it is and how far you have to walk.

Customer service should mean customer service at ANY register where a handicapped person is standing for a long period of time. I am sure the American Disabilities Act would cover this non customer service. It is unfair to embarrass any customer, handicapped or not.

This is the husband typing again. Just you know this incident made me so angry that I bet up my wife. I am not as handicapped as she is and I beat her up. I was so angry at her. Now thanks to them they made me son angry that she has a black eye. Her parents died an I told her that I wish she would die and that it was mistake marrying her.

Menards management

Hardware and Garden department manager is verbally abusive to assistant manager and team members. Tyresse Hill has been witnessed to be lazy and not pull her weight as she verbally attacks her own team in front of guests. I would have this manager fired in less than a minute for the behavior to co workers.

We were appalled at what we witnessed and how her team members were verbally beaten down.

Menards backyard creations patio table

We purchased a Backyard Creations Patio Table just a couple years ago from Menards. The stone on the top of the product immediately started falling off. This summer it got way worse and the table is no longer even functional because so many tiles are missing. If I recall this table cost us $600-$700. Is there anything that can be done at this point? I am very frustrated with this purchase. I no longer have the receipt but I do know that the brand was Backyard Creations.

Menards website security

My menards account was hacked - I attempted to contact menards online security within minutes of the notice that someone had changed my email/username. I got a voicemail! And here it is the next day and there has been no contact from menards. The hacker charged $3000 plus to the card I had on file. I will never use menards online system again! It isn't secure and they are not responsive!

Menards check-out line

I was at my local store in Golden Valley tonight as I am at least 5 days/week around 5:15pm and there were only 2 check out lanes open with lines that were unbelievably long. I called while waiting in-line and I couldn't get an answer from even the front desk location where 3 women were just standing there watching. I finally called back and got someone in hardware and they said they would radio for more cashier's. They lady running the lane I was in apologized and said they let 4 people off at 5pm. I just think that's a prime time to have extra staff working. Everyone was complaining and saying that location should have self-checkouts.

Menards portable garage

I ordered a portable garage on line and had it delivered to the Oshkosh Menards. Picked it up on 3/1/2019. I never used it or opened the box. I call the Oshkosh store about returning it and they said I could but they would give me an instore credit. I loaded it up in the back of my pickup with a fork lift since it is so heavy and took it to them. Had it unloaded and went to the service desk where they informed me it was a special order and they were going to charge me a 25% restocking fee. The portable garage was $900 and they said they were only going to give me $600 in store credit. That is not 25%. So needless to say I returned home with it. I did talk to the store manager and she was extremely rude. This is the worst customer service I have ever had when I did all the steps before returning to there would be no problems
