Meineke Car Care Center shaking in the front end

I took my 2012 jeep in for shaking in the front, took it to meineke 1019 dupont rd, louisville ky 40207. They looked and it and told me it was spark plugs, fuel system kit, fuel induction, plenum gasket and some other things. I am not a car person so I said ok, fix it. 1, 376.04 later, got my jeep back and was not fixed. Took it back and they told me I needed a new engine, which would cost me 13, 000.00. I took it to another place and turned out to be the brakes.
Tried to get my money back but no one will return phone calls or reply to me.

Meineke Car Care Center Oil change

Have always been told didn't need to make appointment for oil change. Went today to get oil change was only 1 person in waiting room at 11 o'clock am and was told they wouldn't be able to get to me. So I left and went to valvoline on Franklin in and out less than 10 min with full service. So now meineke has lost a long time customer by turning me away.

Desired outcome: Was to ask me to at least come back later in the day

Meineke Car Care Center Spark plugs & ignition coils replacement

A Check Engine Light appeared on my 2011 Honda Odyssey. Brought it to Meineke of Huntsville, AL (located at 10035 Memorial Parkway, Huntsville, AL35803) and they told me it needed ignition coils and spark plugs replaced. Told me $210 for ignition coils pack, $63.36 for six (6) spark plugs ($10.56/each) and $84 labor. Gave me $100 discount for labor and totaled $289.11. Sounded reasonable and I left my car with them. They said it be done in 45 mins and told me I can come back around 12 noon to pick it up. I came around noon, paid with my credit card and drove home (live only couple blocks from the shop). Opened the hood, removed the engine block cover to take a look how the job was done. Caught by surprise, all the ignition coils look old and dirty (as expected since they are OEM parts installed on my car with 147k miles driven). Suspicious that they might not even replace the spark plugs, I decided to remove them all and found out only two (2) spark plugs had been replaced.
They charged me for the ignition coils pack and six (6) spark plugs but only replaced two (2).
This is cheating.

Desired outcome: I asked for my money back but they refused to even talk.

Meineke Car Care Center did not fix the problem and won't pay me back

Took my 2012 jeep wrangler to meineke, 1019 dupont rd, to get my jeep looked at they told me what was wrong and i told them to go ahead and fix it. when i got it back it was not fixed, then they told me it was the engine and quoted me 13, 000 to replace it. i took it to another place and turned out it was something to do with the brakes. The manager told me that the guy who worked on my jeep didn't check certain things and that he was having problems with this guy and shouldn't have been the one doing my jeep. I then talked to I believe his name is Kevin, the guy in charge of the Meineke's here and he had me bring it in for a guy to look at it. I did tell him the problem was fixed but wanted to see it anyway. Once again was told the engine needed replace. First of all the reason I took it there in the first place has been fixed by an other shop.
After I told him that I want a refund and that I am not getting my engine fixed I Stopped getting phone calls back. I have left several text and a message and no response. My total bill was 1, 376.07.
This is my last straw at trying to get my refund. I shouldn't even have to write this email. I don't understand what the issue is. I took my jeep ther June 5th, 2021.
Would like a response please.
Thank you,
Gretchen Gambill

Meineke Car Care Center Catalytic converter/exhaust work performed

I had my cats replaced by the store in Newberg, Oregon. I had numerous jobs done by that store for many of my vehicles. I went through a few owners of that place, had ok work done, not great but it was the only place in town. I recently had my exhaust come apart from my last job done by them, the previous job I had to take to dealer because they left my spark plugs loose in 5 out of 8 cylinders. Now im dealing with the fact that my converter job was done @ 50%. Apparently the cats didn't fit right and are off by 15°, covered up by tape and putty. I have tried to take it back to the store and was yelled @ to leave "his" shop because he runs it his way and this is not his problem it is the old owners fault for performing "[censored]ty" work. All his words not mine. I dont know what to do as I am having to pay another shop to do the work now. I need someone to give me an email or phone call regarding these issues.

Meineke Car Care Center $19.95 oil change

I went to Meineke car care on Sep 28 2021 invoice 70239 for oil change with a coupon for $19.95, they did not honor the coupon. They charged me
$20.70 for parts
$7.28 labor
$1.89 tax
$31.87 total
I disagreed with the charge but to keep down a scene I paid it. I do not mind paying the $19.95 like was advertised on your website but I feel Meineke owes me $10.92.
The invoice also says he recommended a Brake Fluid Flush and I refused it but he never recommended anything to me, though with the service I got I would not have accepted any recommendation from this Meineke employee.
I was checking our complaints on your business and it's not very good at all and I can completely understand why with my experience. I will be sharing my experience with my friends and Church family so they will not have the same experience that I did.

Desired outcome: Refund of $10.92 and that you check your different business locations to make sure they're providing honest and good services.

Meineke Car Care Center Transmission check on wife's jeep

We took my wife's 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee to the meneke store in Bloomington, Indiana.
They did a check on transmission due to shifting issues. They found an issue which we got a price for. We wanted trans fluid and filter change as well.
They charged $110 for the diagnostic and 150 for fluid and filter change. Which I am sure they did not do! Because they said there was a leak on the pan. If they had changed the filter as requested (remove the pan) they should have fixed it. We got it home and the next morning it is completely empty! It has never leaked before and should not have leaked after they changed fluid! Definitely not leak all if it out!
Well if this wasn't enough my wife asked the manager some questions. He was very very RUDE! And acting like she was an idiot for asking questions. That is totally TOTALLY unacceptable!
I want our money back and an apology from the manager! This store sucks!

Desired outcome: Full refund and an apology!

Meineke Car Care Center Breach of contract

Meineke Highlands Ranch #931. I had a Die Hard Platinum battery installed in my 2014 Jeep 2 months ago and that battery has died (installed June 30, dead August 20, 2021). I was told they would warranty the battery so I brought it in for that service. It took them almost 3 weeks - reason was their battery guy was off sick with COVID. When I came in to pick my car up September 7, 2021 - there was no battery in the car, and the technician had to run into the shop to find it - good enough, no big deal. He brought the new battery out and installed it, and then tried to start the car - no luck. The technician said, oh this new battery is dead too (maybe they were just trying to regenerate enough juice in my old battery and fraudulently replace with the same battery). The technician ran back into the shop and came out with a different battery - Die Hard Silver or maybe Gold - but definitely not the Platinum. The car started, I drove it home, and the next morning this so called "new" battery was dead - really? Has anyone actually ever heard of this happening? Now Meineke says they are not going to honor their contract of warrantying the Platinum battery. If they do not, I will take 2 actions - one, I will file a lawsuit for breach of contract, and will go directly to the manufacturer and deal with this warranty myself.

Desired outcome: Warranty the battery and replace with a new one of the same brand, model, etc.

Meineke Car Care Center Brake service/check

I got an estimate and a worker named J.R used vulgar and inappropriate language when I decided not to. Very rude, told me not to come back when someone else messes up my vehicle. Rusty was the manager on duty to conclude I always used to take my vehicle there but I will not in future because of how I was treated. Employees should not complain or voice opinion

Meineke Car Care Center No communication, mis diagnosed and more engine problems

on Monday July 19th I took my wifes 2011 explore to Mineke in Longmont on S. Hover St. because the AC was blowing hot. The guy looked under the hood, didnt start the car and said the compressor was no good. He said it would be about a 4 hour repair. We scheduled an appointment for Wednesday the 21st to drop the car off, they said they would drive my wife to work and then pick her up to get the car that evening. I contacted the warranty center, they approved all but 2 parts that were involved. I called the shop and told them not to do the expansion valves on Tuesday. That would have left me with the deductible of $100 that I would pay. Wednesday my wife dropped the car off. They told her that they didnt have a driver to drop her off. They ended up sending her with a random tow truck driver to drop her off. Wednesday night I got a ride from a friend to pick it up. Justin who was a complete jerk not only to me but to my wife as well said they have not started work on it and it would be done tomorrow (Thursday). I called Thursday and he was again a jerk and said he would call me when it was ready. Friday I called and was told that it would not be finished until Saturday because they had to put in a AC Compressor. He said they tried other things to save me money and it didnt work. Saturday I showed up at 2:40 to pick it up. I was told that the amount due was over $550! I told him that I have a warranty that covered it and he said sorry this is the balance in the notes. (A sheet of printer paper with a bunch of handwriting and pictures drawn were the "notes"). I told him that I brought with me $100 which was all I was told I owed. I even showed a 20% off Military coupon and was told that is not any good because they are billing the warranty company. He did not want the $100 instead said he needed the $557 and change. I asked him if there was a chase bank close he looked it up and said it was closed. He gave me my keys and said to come in Monday with the full payment that the manager would be there and would explain. I left and on my way home about 12 miles away the car starts to ding and the temperature gauge is to max hot. I found a safe place to pull off and shut the car off. I opened the hood and looked around, not being a mechanic I did not know what I was looking for. I Noticed a hose that was just hanging and was not connected. I called the Mieneke shop and he said that I need to call a tow truck and have the car dropped off there and it would be looked at Monday. Of course at my cost. He stated it was no fault of their own because they did not do anything with the cooling system. After the experience I had there, I was not taking another chance. This car has never had any issues as long as we have owned it. We have service records for it as we keep up on regularly. I had my car towed to my house. I connected the hose to the only place it can go. I added new coolant and it leaks from the side of the radiator close to the bottom. I called the ford dealership and discussed it with a mechanic who informed me that if it is dry and hot it is likely to crack. A new radiator installed will cost out of pocket $1470. I can not use my warranty because this was caused by vehicle negligence. The tow fee costed $180. Engine coolant costed $44 which is a total of $1694. I filed a report on Saturday and the id # is [protected]. From the beginning this spelled disaster. The guy that looked under my hood had no way of diagnosing it without even starting the car. And then with zero communication the task went from 4 hours to 4 days. I can understand a couple of hours difference. The way Justin treated my wife and I was not acceptable or professional. The difference in price was not discussed with me at all. I would not have had it done had I known the price difference. And now the new issues with this car has caused us unnecessary. We have contacted our JAG office for legal advice. I will pay the $100 that was agreed. I will also be sending this new repair bill to the shop. I forgot to mention the odor of cigarette smoke inside my car and we do not smoke.

Desired outcome: Meineke pays the repairs

Meineke Car Care Center Car repair not done and charged 1554.10

I first went to Meineke of Gastonia on Saturday 5/22/21. My complaint from my car was that when I reversed I would hear a loud popping sound, and my air was not working, also my steering wheel would shake driving. I left my car and when it was supposedly ready the tech called me and said my shocks and alignment needed to be replaced and that my air was not leaking and they would add freon. I gave the go ahead for the work to be done. Which came to about 1700.00 dollars. I did not have that much cash, so I was approved for a loan through easy pay finance for 1500.00. The total being 1554.10 I did drive my car home, I didn't notice nothing to crazy, because I live less than five minutes away. But on Monday, on the way to work, nothing was working as before, my air was still broken, the steering wheel was shaking profusely, and I could still here the popping sound when I reversed my car. I immediately called the Meineke and got the answering service, and left a message about my car. I also called again on my lunch break and spoke with the lady who I was helped at front desk on Saturday. She told me they closed at 6, and I could not make it in by that time to come back in because I was working in Concord that week and would not make it in time. So my only other option was to come in the following Saturday 5/29/21 and get things rechecked out. So I go back the Saturday and leave my car. When the tech calls me back he says oh we had to change the air filter it was dirty, and you need a lower control arm because that's the popping sound and its gonna be 1000 bucks. At this point Im done being scammed. I say just fix the air, which I'm not sure why they charged me and additional $26.00 in the first place, because thats what I was charged for originally in the 1554.10 the week before. But I pay it and leave, because at this point I know that they just wanted to scam a single women who they thought was stupid and would just let it slide. But I want to make everyone aware that this is a scam, I have receipts and proof, my cars still broke 1554.10 dollars later. And I need help getting some guidance on how to get my car fixed or refund of some sort. Please help me.

Desired outcome: Car repaired not scammed please

Meineke Car Care Center Take responsibility and fix

I will not go thru my experience so far with this company that hasn't even taken the time to call me after a Meineke rep visited my car where it was towed too.
I actually haven't heard anything since I first called with the problem and that has been a week, 7 days for a multi million
business can't even let a person know about their car that destruction has been massive. You have left me no transportation, I have gone thru days of crying not knowing what to do and how to do it. Even the service rep is surprise due to the non-contact about the car. It is a simple and clear
show that it is the fault of what a tech did to this car.
Now I'am left to take you to court so that you can take responsibility for the actions that has left my car with a destroyed motor. How is it a person can't even get thru to a person that can answer a question with ability to resolve or at least give an answer that is acceptable. You sit back and ignore the cry for help leaving people without something they worked hard to obtain and keep. But who cares it isn't your car that has a engine that doesn't drive your car...

Meineke Car Care Center Unnecessarily installed parts that did not fixed the problem, unnecessarily monies and time spent and lack of knowledge diagnosing problem

(1) To whom it may concern, I need your help. On 9/5/2020 I took my 2006 Impala to Meineke Car Care at 100168 Chatfield Avenue, Littleton, Colorado, 80127 to find a power steering leak. They said it was a power steering line leak. So, I bought new lines and when they went to install them, they only replace one rubber hose line. There are two rubber hose lines, but they only replace one rubber hose line and did not install the complete set of two that I bought to be replaced as instructed by Meineke. Problem fixed…. NO!

(2) I left and the leak was still leaking, I had to put power steering fluid into the pump daily. I Brought my car back and this time they said it was the power steering pump, so on December 1st, 2020, I had the pump replaced. Drove a block to gas station to check the fluid level in the power steering reservoir and it was low. They gave me my car back with low fluid level that they just fixed.

(3) With-in one day, I still had the same leak in the same location as when I 1st brought my care in. This time they said it was the rack and pinion rack that was leaking. I had it replaced on December 12th, 2020. I drove my car on the highway to confirm that indeed the leak was finally fixed and no more leaks. I parked my car in a spot that was clear of oil stains so I could see if I had any leaks. 30 minutes Later I came out and saw that it was still leaking. I took pictures. I have not drove my car much in fear of full failure.

(4) The next day I drove to the mountains, hoping I would be ok. The power steering line blew, and all my power steering fluid leak out. I had no steering at all. All my new parts were now being damaged as I was running with no fluid in the reservoir. Desperately, I drove to the nearest auto parts store to get more fluid and attempting to drove home with no steering. The next day I took my care back to Meineke Car Care. They said the other power steering line (that they did not replace the first time) was rubbing and put a hole in it. They replace it. I left and went to a nearby gas station to check the level of the power steering pump and found it was below the fill line and had to put power steering fluid in. Again, they let me leave with low power steering fluid.

(5) I drove on the highway to see if it was not leaking. I parked my car and did some shopping. When I came out, I looked under my car and it was still leaking on the pavement. I took pictures. I checked the level of the power steering pump; it was low and now I half to fill it daily to the required level.

(6) December 9th, I brought my car back in to get the leak fixed again. They said the clamp to the power steering line that they just fixed was leaking and it was installed wrong and they fix it. Again! Power steering is still leaking.
I have spent better part of $1100 and 8 quarts of power steering fluid at $5.00 each and still not fixed. I had other automotive repair shops look at my car to try to find the problem. They all found the same results after putting a dye in the power steering pump. This dye under UV light shows any leaks anywhere. Also, they all mentioned I did not need to replace the power steering pump or rack and pinion rack parts as they may have ageing dampness but would not cause this problem. The dye should have been the first thing done to find the leak. I want financial reimbursement for unnecessarily installed parts and all the time spent going back and forth in over months. I will need to take my car to another automotive repair shop to get it fixed right. Clearly I cannot trust Meineke Car Care at 100168 Chatfield Avenue, Littleton, Colorado, 80127 as they did not know how to fix this problem and replaced parts unnecessarily.

Desired outcome: I want financial reimbursement for unnecessarily installed parts and all the time spent going back and forth in over months.

Meineke Car Care Center brakes

I took my car into them and they did my brakes and said I had a lifetime warranty and they are no longer in business, had to take my car else where and the brakes were bad and needed replaced to the sum of 924.00 because it also ruined my routers. The job
Meineke done was on 4/17/17. Lifetime warranty and it has only been two years
would like some kind of satisfaction on this. They were great people to work with but really need an answer.

Meineke Car Care Center tires purchased this month (november 2018)!!

I am a former employee of Meineke #300 in Fayetteville, NC. I purchased a complete set of Nexen N5000 Plus tires (4) from American Tire Distributers here in town. I personally mounted, balanced and did an alignment on the vehicle myself! FRONT TIRES ARE ALMOST BALD~~~Everyone says its the alignment...I doesn't pull to either side NOT THE ALIGNMENT! Neither Meineke nor American Tire want to do anything about it! It's a default problem with the tires! Back two tires still look brand new! These tires haven't been on there even a month yet! I WANT THEM REPLACED IMMEDIATELY FOR FREE AND I'M NOT PAYING LABOR COST OR FOR AN ALIGNMENT! The original work was done at Meineke #300 located at 3412 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC [protected]. I WAS NEVER GIVEN A COPY OF INVOICE SINCE WE WERE MADE TO PAY IN CASH!

Meineke Car Care Center refund

2/2018 my SUV was taken in for routine oil change wobbly tire, they added a timing chain as recommended change, we agreed paid 2267.30 from there to 9/31/2018 my car was kept in their shop, we were lied to, saying they were working on it an we would be in the lot staring at it. We even tried transferring it to another Meineke location and was denied as they told them that after placement of the timing chain incorrectly it damaged the motor and they were ordering a new one which was another lie, my mom found the owner went to his house and demanded action, where he verbal on a recorded audio admitted the mechanic working on the vehicle had been fired for drug use and he contacted his insurance who immediately placed us in a rental. Our Suv was under a bank loan which we had to make payments and insurance payments on for 7 months, we were not on a public transport line so additional fees inccurred to pay for travel . The hardship we endured as a result of negligence upon this center was a burden. This all could have been avoided if we had been notified immediately of the damages, however we were treated rudely never called and completed ignored when we would call, or appear at the shop. The insurance company took care of the property damage but directed us to back to get reimbursed the money paid for repairs that were never done. Meineke cas refused to refund, stated they needed verification the insurance did not pay. Their Insurance wrote a letter stating there was no reimbursement it needed to come from them. Meineke that said their computers were hacked and unable to tell if it was paid we again provided a copy of the receipt, certified mail. We are now forced to pursue this in a civil suit, and have filed complaints with KY attorney Generals Office, and any other means necessary to prevent this from ever happening to another individual. A individual using drugs under the influence while working on a motor vehicle is extremely dangerous and puts consumer along with innocent people at risk.
