Maytag Broken washer 1.5 years old model mvw7230hw0

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer commercial technology smart capable set with extra power buttons. Models mvw7230hw0, washer and med6230hw2, dryer. Over$2000 for the set. 2 weeks before the 1 year manufacturers warranty expired the dryer broke. Just stopped turning on. Called Maytag and was told to call retailer, Lowe's. They told me to call Maytag because we didn't purchase an extended warranty through them. So again I called Maytag, sat on hold for 30 minutes and was told that there were no service technicians in my area. I could set up with a local appliance repair, pay out of pocket and be reimbursed and they would send me the parts. This started October 2021. The appliance repair would take a week to come out, they agreed to face time and we concluded the display panel and mother board were the problem even though no code could be accessed because the unit would notdiagnostisSOrdered parts, 3 weeks later was told that they could not find them? That's because they are made in China. Go figure. They finally agreed to replace the unit. But it would take 4 more weeks. I was so sick of drying things by the wood stove and crunchy towels l demand a faster delivery. I had a potty training toddler and was working full time at my wits end. A week later they delivered my new dryer. Situation resolved12/17/21. 3 months later. Now the washer won't spin out, getting error codes, Even one Maytag says doesn't exist. Since this isn't my first rodeo with machine diagnostics, I've concluded it is the motherboard and /or the clutch assembly. So I know when I call Maytag they will order the parts just to tell me that they are lost or back ordered. So I would like the washer replaced asap without the run around. This is my first experience with Maytag, my LG front loaders lasted me 15 years, had it not been at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic I would have bought something else, but we could not wait for months to replace our old washer and dryer. I will never purchase "America's best known" product, that's made in China. With our world holding on by a thread, our children losing the ability to play outside, shouldn't we be building products that last, not disposable merchandise to be thrown in a landfill year after year. I don't know about anyone else but I don't have disposable income available.

Yes I know what it is to have a Maytag wash ,mine is 3 yrs old . A piece of junk! First yr it went down,and for them on it has not worked properly. Now the transmission is gone so I've waited the 21 days if they as they last I have a 5-year extended warranty on the washing machine now they say they can't find a transmission for it but they keep making Maytag and Whirlpool washing machines which by the way Maytag was bought by whirlpool they both suck so now I've waited the 21 days on the 21st day they were supposed to hand it over to another idiot team to find a transmission for my washer for 4 days I went my 4 days and called today now I got to wait another week before they decide that they want to let me have a washing machine that works I walked by mine only to dust it not to use it I guess as long as the people that run Maytag and Whirlpool can come to work with clean clothes on their [censored] they don't care about their customers they've got their money yes this is all true I'm so tired of having this washing machine I'd rather blow it up that's how good I like Maytag and Whirlpool no my situation is not been solved they just keep handing me from one operator to another they keep saying they're sorry I understand why Maytag in Mobile but not once has one person called me since I washed machine has been down to let me know what is going on with my part I'm always the one who has to call put on hold for 45 minutes and then I get to talk for another 25 minutes raising hell because they're not doing their job May tag and whirlpool should be taken off the market they don't stand behind their product I know the pandemic has gone on but all the Maytag and whirlpools that's already in the stores they won't take one of those and replace it with a new one plus remember I have an extended 5-year warranty that doesn't matter they don't care so I guess it's wait till whenever they decide to fix my washing machine this is horrible horrible horrible so anybody that's affiliated or associated with Maytag and whirlpool you work for sorry [censored] company

I'd really like to assist.

Your complaint was a little difficult to understand with the lack of punctuation but, I think, I got the basic idea.

You haven't provided certain details that may prove to be helpful. From where was the washer purchased and from whom is your extended warranty through? What is the specific model?

I know how frustrating it must seem. Just about all the manufacturers around the world are having difficulties supplying parts.

Maytag produces some great appliances. I like their washers. You have to be careful on weighting the washer down however. Any washer that uses a transmission can receive damage by overloading the tub.

I'd like to assist, if I may.

Those are extremely nice appliances, even though they're mismatched.

There's nothing wrong with expecting an appliance to last longer, unfortunately all products, regardless of how well their designed, can have issues earlier on — even LG; just search for the brand on this website.

Assuming the washer is now out of warranty, it might be more cost effective just to replace it — even if you're handling the expense. Buy from someone that has good, reasonable priced extended warranties that you know you can trust.

Maytag Washing machine

MAYTAG Washing Machine MVW6230HW1 serial CA0301068 One month out of warranty the drum stopped draining. March 24 /22 Called a service tech who did extensive tests but said nothing was wrong. Still, after he left, it worked. For a little over a month. Today It will not even start. It's may 2. Buyer beware. These things are barbie toys. Get an extended warrantee, or better still, go with another company

Maytag Washing machine

On 10/08/21 I purchased a Maytag washer from menards in minot, nd. I purchased 2 additional warranty years on the machine, for a total of 1096.50. At the time of purchase they told us to contact menards if we have issues with the machine. On 02/26/22, my washer broke down, was making a grinding noise and would not spin the water out. I immediately called menards. They got me in touch with the appliance department. the lady I talked to told me to call kevins plumbing in Minot. On monday 02/28/22 I called kevins plumbing, they asked me why I called them. I told them I called menards and they told me to call kevins plumbing. they set up a date of 03/09/22 to come and check the machine. they never called or showed up, I called them and they said nobody answered the phone, and it was busy. we have caller id and an answer machine. if they would have called we would have seen it on the caller id and they could have left a message. they set it for a different date about a week later. when the repairman came he said he had to order the parts and he had 6 of the same model machines that have the same problem, the shaft is made of plastic. my husband checked with kevins plumbing every week, the maytag warehouse, which should not be the customers responsibility. the may tag warehouse told us the parts were sent. neither place knew what was going on. In the meantime we have had to go to the laundromat and spend 40.00 a week washing clothes. on 4/26/22 we went to menards, spoke to Nancy in the appliance department. told her we were upset and needed some help. she called the manager of the department, he refused to come and see us. he gave nancy a toll free number for us to call. I said we have already tried that, nobody knows anything. nancy sent an email to menards corporate, kevins plumbing, and maytag warehouse. the next morning, the manager called my husband and told him he ordered the part and it will get fixed this week. my husband was upset because all this time nobody could fix it and all of a sudden because he orders the part he thinks it will get fixed. also, how long will it last and it breaks down again and we go through this mess again. my husband went to menards and asked to talk to the manager. instead of the manager coming he sent a regular employee. my husband said no, iwant to talk to the manager. when the manager came down he was angry be cause he had to come down and talk to my husband. my husband told him our concerns and said we want our money back. the manager said no he was not going to refund or replace the machine, because, it says on the sales slip no exchanges or refunds after 7 days of purchase. we purchased a new machine from Home Depot on 04/27/22. when my husband was in enards to talk to the manager on 04/27/22, the manager became angry with my husband and told him to leave and never come back. hat is very poor customer service. I will never deal with them again

It is less than a year old, therefore still under manufacturer's warranty. They have failed to fix it for over two months. Whirlpool/Maytag have in recent years proven to manufacture poor quality junk, and their customer service is just as dismal.

People can't honestly continue to blame the pandemic forever, especially as Maytag has claimed to have sent out the parts.

May be time to contact the BBB and the Attorney General of Michigan if you wish to complain about Whirlpool/Maytag, or the Attorney General of whatever state Menards is headquartered in if you wish to complain about them. That's what I had to do when I couldn't get service, and I got an almost immediate response.

I appreciated reading your concerns.

It's frustrating but there are a number of manufacturers having difficulties supplying parts because of the pandemic. Maytag is no different.

Personally, like many consumers, I like Maytag products. Whereas you haven't provided the exact model, I'm unable to speak precisely. Whereas you'll have two washers, it may be worthwhile to use the one you like the most and keep the other as a backup.

What model of Maytag is it and what was the secondary washer you've purchased?

I have a $1,000 dollar Piece of crap Bravos XL Model # MVWB835DW3 that need basically an new transmission it is barely 4 years old. The repairs will fall short of 200.00 that I could buy another piece of their [censored]. Do your self a favor go look for a refurbished older mode Whirlpool 2000, 2001 when appliances were still appliances. I found my old washer dryer pair refurbished 2001 model in Houston with a one year warranty on parts and labor for $400.00. My prior Whirlpool was 26 years old and never had a repair as we lost that one he flood of Allison in 2001. Had I know this was a $1,000 Piece of [censored] I would have had my other one repaired. My repair guy who is very honest told me the ew crap is made to last about 4-5 years at best made by China, it says made in the USA but the parts are Chinese Junk and the machine is assembled here.

This year, beginning of 2022 it decides to give me issues. 1st the off balance enigma that no matter how perfect it is balanced it still goes off balance. Water inlet valves had to be replaced. Maytag Washer Bravos XL

The washer leaves lint on all of my black clothes some more than others .I had service come out many times suggesting like less detergent and cleaning which I do. I absolutely hate this washer,and the extra work I have to do to get lint off. I replaced my old still running maytag with this one a few years back and have been struggling ever since.What is the solution for clean clothes with this washer? I am sure it is on all clothes but just can't see it on the lighter clothes.

Desired outcome: Answer for a cleaner wash.

Maytag released the Brovos line of washers over ten years ago to rave reviews — an incredible new way to use a top-loading washer. It included the industry's best cold water wash with the combination of a Power Wash exclusive option.

You should never need to use any more than a third of a cup of detergent for any wash load. If needed, the extra rinse will provide a more thorough cleaning.

Make sure to also clean the dispenser to keep any unwanted residue at bay.

No matter how poor a Whirlpool/Maytag washer proves to be, you will dishonestly state that it was released to "rave reviews". The Maytag Bravos line is an cheaply made machine that washes poorly. Plus the customer service is extremely poor.

Any "rave reviews" that the washer gets are, at least for the vast majority, received as part of some promotion, such as to be entered in a sweepstakes, by people who have had their washer for a very short period of time. Very dishonest.

As I mentioned before there are sites that look at sites with reviews and adjust them as to how the reviews were made and by who made them. The modern day Whirlpool Corp. has trashed their once good name.

It is a fact, not an opinion, that Maytag is no longer a reliable brand and that Whirlpool has unacceptably poor customer service. I know this from personal experience having owned a Maytag Bravos. Yes, Speed Queen is far superior.

And you would suggest that a modern Maytag is built with the same quality of Speed Queen? I've had both, and I can tell you plainly that you are full of rat droppings.

Again, it is more than opinion, it has to do with facts, facts that you continuously and purposely ignore as you spout your meaningless garbage.

Look it up, look at genuine reviews and articles on the internet on how the machines are built and the overall customer satisfaction with them. You obviously have an agenda, and you have yet to honestly answer what that agenda is, and who's paying you. You make idiotic statements blaming the users for the failure of new machines, completely misunderstand how washers work (I still love your assertion that top loaders are inferior because the wash water in them gets dirty), and point to awards that manufacturers have won, which when you look at them are awards about marketing and gimmicks, and nothing to do with the durability and function of the machines, or user satisfaction.

You are as big a joke as your moniker; "Mr. Helpful"! LOL Could you be any more self-unaware?

Maytag Mvwx655dw1 washer transmission fail

I bought this washer and drier combo at home depot and it's has been so frustrating with this washer ever since. I bought the extended warranty for it and it could no be fixed. The tech installed parts but problem continued, he said the noise was normal but trust me it is so noisy and now it started to leak water and some type of oil. Now we are thinking of buying another washer. Not sure if anyone can help us with this since warranty expired and now we are without a washer. Maytag was supposed to be one of the best and we bought it for that reason but very dissapointed with it. I have video and pics of washer problems but not sure how to load videos

Desired outcome: i'd like a refund or pay for the machine to be repaired.

Maytag Washing machine

I purchased my Maytag Bravo XL in July 2019. Just had a service call regarding the need to replace a lid lock device. The repair person told me that it also sounded like the bearings in the machine are going bad! So the lid lock replacement with labor was $240. I was told that the transmission replacement would be over $500. Yikes. The machine is hot even 3 years old. I called Maytag to see if there could be any assistance but was told no. Basically, the person I spoke to admitted that they don't make things like they used to. Why do we accept this?

Hi Mary.

It's frustrating with something doesn't last as long as one may wish. One common reason for bearings going out is the gasket surrounding them being compromised by the use of too much detergent.

The Bravo XL line is really nice. It's worth having fixed. Many products only come with a limited warranty but many retailers offer longer warranty coverage.

Contact the retailer you purchased the unit through. You'd be surprised what they may be able to assist with.

Washers today being made by Whirlpool and Maytag are outright trash. Running around blaming the consumer for bearings failing because they supposedly use to much detergent, or whatever other BS you happen to come up with, is worse than nonsense. So how much money do you make prostituting yourself for the corporate interests on this website?

Maytag Maytag stove

The element on my stove caught on fire while my grand kids were with me in kitchen. This should not have happened. I bought maytag because of your warranty! I have already sent three complaints to you, with out any respond. Do you think this is fair? I can not afford to buy a new stove. We are elderly and retired. Hi Robin.

We really do care about getting you well taken care of. Unfortunately, we don't have a way to have something magically happen. There are only things that can happen by speaking to the customer service team. They can establish an appointment, with an authorized service center, in your local area. If the baking element is the problem, the cost of the part is covered by Maytag; all you need to do is cover the cost of labor.

Without inspecting the range, I can only assume the reason for damage is allowing food to accumulate on the element. Just be careful to not do so in the future and there is no reason to believe it would happen again.

So contact the Maytag support team at the phone number I've provided. You should be able to start the process fairly easily.

Maytag provides a one year limited warranty on parts and labor for the first year and a ten year limited warranty on parts only for the following:

■ Glass-Ceramic Cooktop (if due to thermal breakage)

■ Electric Surface Elements

■ Electric Bake/Broil Elements (Excludes Convection Element)

■ Cavity (Rust Through and Broken Welds Only)

Maytag Maytag wash machine

My machine is in a laundry closet and I carried a tape measure with to be sure a 27" machine was bought so it would fit back in to this laundry closet. The machine is bigger were the hoses are so my machine will not fit. My only options are to hire a plumber to move the drain into the wall or a carpenter to move out the doors. Either way, this will be an additional cost that I was not counting on. Very unhappy. I never had this problem with a wash machine before.

Desired outcome: Maytag to reimburse me for the additional charges or atleast give me a discount on the machine. I bought a Maytag because of the reputation of being a good machine.

Maytag Not honoring warranty

I have been calling well over a month now and keep getting told there working on it. First they said they would send someone to fix it, then after 3 weeks they said they have no service people in my area. Well why would you not have people to come fix it. Then no one called, so tracked down women who said they would replace it. She never returns my calls and it’s another 4 weeks in added on to waiting for service. This is a dryer which stopped working within warranty. Serial number medc465hwo. This should have not gone on this long. Please can you help. Im spending so much money at laundry mat. I have a nurses and military which require uniforms to be washed daily.

Desired outcome: Honor warranty, can’t afford going to laundry mat. Replace my dryer, ASAP. Please.

But if you still haven't gotten a satisfactory response from Maytag contact the BBB, and only then are you likely to get a quick response from Maytag. If you don't hear within a couple of business days from Maytag, contact the Michigan Attorney General.

Maytag Maytag dishwasher

This is my second attempt to file this complaint. I purchased the dishwasher in April 2021. In March 2022 I received a call from someone who claimed to be from Maytag who said there was a recall. Subsequently a local repair service came and replaced the “heater”. After the service the machine would not run and it made a constant noise and flashed codes on the display. The repair service returned and identified the problem as the “float switch” and said it would be ordered. To date (April 3, 2022) the installation of the float switch has not been done and I am sick of washing dishes by hand after paying for a machine that apparently had a recall and should not have been sold to me. Also, Whirlpool, the responsible warranty company, has not sent any documents of a recall. I believe it is an old recall and the machine should not have been sold to me without it being first corrected. I am very angry about this.

Hi Mr Morgan.

I don't blame you being frustrated. You haven't listed the exact model or serial number on your dishwasher, so I'm unable to confirm any specifics as to the necessity of such recall. As a diehard Maytag dishwasher fan, however, I assume the work being done is required.

Recall work takes place after an issue has been discovered and the product is already in the market. Maytag wants to make sure you get a properly serviced unit. To that end, it sounds as if they've went way above and beyond to call you and alert you to the recall.

As to your current float switch issue, you'd be better to address that with the local service center handling the repair. A simple call to them should resolve a great deal of confusion.

Once you've made a call to them, let us know if there are any further concerns.

Maytag Washer model # MVW6230HW serial # cx1670965

Washer does not perform like advertised you can only wash 3 towels or 3 pairs of jeans and it`s a 4.7 cu. Ft. Tub I paid over 865.83 dollars for this and it does not handle my familys laundry can`t wash my dogs blankets. And maytag and home depot where I bought it will do nothing to resolve my issues. I bought it at home depot # 1012 401 w. Ventura blvd. Camarillo, ca. [protected] on 4-26-20 delivered on 4-30-20. I first went to them they said problem is with maytag, I called maytag they sent out a tech. He came to my house on may 13, 2021 arround 11:00 he checked everything and said it was working fine he said he has one and thats the way it worked and I could wash 3 towels or 3 jeans, I said why the 4.7 tub I should be able to wash a load of clothes he said nope even with the 3 pairs of jeans or towels or clothes equivalent to that it will not put enough water to cover the clothes I said are you kidding me he said no sorry. Maytag Maytag washing machine 4.7 cu ft high efficiency top load model: wvwb765fw

Purchased a MAYTAG "whirlpool " Washing machine just 2 years ago at Home Depot for over $600.00,

with the nice big stickers stating that it was built by an American company also with a big round sticker showing 10 YEAR LMITED WARRANTY,

Wow I thought it had to be a quality product since is backed for 10 years!

Now i know that is all a clever dirty trick, when in reality all it covers is motor and basket, no labor either.

The washer start light will start flashing on every load and block all functions, have done multiple resets and troubleshooting, had a local tech diagnose issue and confirmed is the control panel $300 + $170 labor.

Today as I make appt hoping the warranty would at least cover parts, but I was told to pay $134.95 for the tech to visit plus labor and parts,

What a rip-off and disappointment this company is, for me to have to pay

$500.00 in repairs for a barely two-year-old machine is Unacceptable.

I will never EVER,EVER,EVER buy again from this company and will let family and friends know about it so they don't fall for this scam.

Hi Mr Jones.

I appreciate hearing your concerns. It's frustrating when one expects something to not have issues for some arbitrary amount of time, just to deal with a problem somewhat shortly thereafter.

The "sticker" your referring to is an emblem, but quite clearly states motor and wash basket — nothing more. It also is something all documented within the owners' manual. There are other companies that do things very similar.

I like Maytag/Whirlpool products and have some with my own home. Unfortunately even the very best products can experience problems before one expects.

We've had people with other issues that, after contacting the retailer, have come to find out their repair is fully covered. Many retailers offer additional service packages as an incentive to purchase through them.

I love the the model of washer you've listed. It's definitely worth getting serviced.

My cloths keep coming out with dry places (as if there was not enough water). Also much lint and hairs remain on the cloths. This washer was purchased new July 2021 together with a Maytag dryer.

Maytag Washing machine

We purchased the washer and dryer the end of May 2020. We weren’t overly happy with the machine for the amount we paid. In November 2021 the machine quit working all together. I called and explained my disappointment that a washing machine should last longer than a year and half. They said that they would do a one time courtesy repair. Needless to say we were without a washer until January 2022 because it appliance service company and parts back ordered. The washing machine made louder noises after the repair and then my family had COVID so I couldn’t have anyone in house but I called appliance service company and they said I had to contact Whirlpool as their ticket was closed. I finally made contact with Maytag to be told that only parts would be covered but I would be responsible for the diagnostic fees and the labor. Needless to say I am very upset with them and the quality of the washing machine

Desired outcome: A working washing machine without having to pay for repairs or replace the washing machine

I can sure appreciate your frustration. I would think most people would hope to get longer service time. You really were smart buying a Maytag. They're a fantastic brand as many satisfied owners will attest to.

In this case, Maytag was great in covering a full service when they didn't need to. It would be nice if this service company had a warranty on their work. Ultimately, check with the retailer you've purchased the unit through. Many offer additional service programs that would cover this kind of problem.

"Mr. Helpful", you never did reply as to whether you are paid to shill for the appliance industry. Can you simply (and hopefully honestly answer that question).

The modern Maytag name no longer represents a "fantastic brand", but is now owned by Whirlpool that has destroyed the Maytag brand along with their own brand. The "satisfied owners" represent those who still have working Maytag products from the early 2000s or before, or those who have their products only a very limited time as the products are designed to fail within a few years if not sooner. As I referred to earlier, many of those "satisfied owners" submitted reviews soon after purchase in order to be entered in a sweepstakes or other promotional consideration.

It is interesting to me that Whirlpool used to have their own propagandists running around on sites like this telling people how much they care and to "reach out" to their "Special Service Team" or whatever. I guess people caught on to the fact that they were doing nothing more than putting up a false front for social media and that their words were as worthless as the quality of their products and services, and now they seem to have you to prostitute yourself for them.

Still have to wonder why you spend so much time here defending the industry and blaming the consumer to the point of ignoring the facts. Do people in Beverly Hills have nothing better to do? Yes, I do have a hard time believing you, especially as you have been less than completely candid in your defense of poor quality products.

And I do find it curious that you seem to be picking up where the failed Whirlpool propagandists seem to have left off after seemingly having fled for being called out for what they are. It appears their new tactic is to have someone who at first glance may appear to be unaffiliated and unbiased take over as a shill for them.

When I finally got a full refund from Whirlpool, which I had to go through the BBB and the MI Attorney General to get them to keep their promises, I got a Speed Queen, as I've mentioned on this board. Unfortunately, as far as I could find, it is the only washer brand that is still made with uncompromising quality in the US.

So I've already given my recommendation on this board. It is a shame what has become of the domestic appliance industry.

Fortunately I haven't had to buy any major appliances other than the washer in the past couple decades, but if there are any other brands I would buy, I'm sure, that like Speed Queen, I'd have to do my research and pay a premium for it. Though buying a washer for $1140 that should last for decades, vs a Maytag for $800 that lasted 8 months and never washed well during that time, is a MUCH better value.

Now that I know what new appliances are like, I will do all I can to keep my old, reliable, products running. Even if I had no choice and had to buy a poor quality product such as a Whirlpool (which I have no intention of doing) I wouldn't run around praising it.

Now you said you have nothing to do with Whirlpool, but you still haven't answered the question about why you are running around shilling for the industry and whether you are getting any gain from it.

I asked whether you are a paid shill for the appliance industry, you replied that you have nothing to do with Whirlpool. So I'll rephrase my question, do you receive any financial compensation for posting here, and what is your relation to the appliance industry? What is your purpose in posting here? Along with your lack of candidness concerning the quality and service in the industry, you seem to be evading giving a direct and fully honest answer. As I recall, you have introduced yourself as someone knowledgeable in the industry, but I have yet to note any particular expertise in how the appliances are actually built and the real life problems that plague them, nor have I seen any particularly helpful replies that you have given though I can't say I've read them all.

Another evasive thing is that when you are called out on what appears to be your lack of credibility in promoting the appliances here as superior and problems being the consumer's fault, you attempt to turn the tables by asking what brands are good. Even if there are no decent brands left does not give you excuse to misrepresent poorly made stuff as superior. When a consumer complains about the poor quality of the brand he bought, it doesn't help to dismiss it by asking what brand is better.

For the washer I replaced I did my research, paid a premium (though I paid a premium I got a much better value) and got a Speed Queen.

From what I've learned about the state of the industry today after dealing with Whirlpool, I intend to keep my older, far more reliable, products running. But if I did have to buy a new major appliance I would again do my research and be prepared to pay a premium, but I intend to never buy another Whirlpool product after the inexcusable customer "service" and poor quality product I received.

Maytag Washing machine

I bought a Maytag washing machine form home depot online back in October of 2021. Shortly thereafter the unit started leaking. HD sent out a technician to look at it and he replaced the water hose. The unit keep leaking and the same service person came out again and replaced yet another water hose and the machine just continued leaking. I had water damage to my laundry floor and the kitchen ceiling and yet another company was consulted for damages.

It has been 5 months and my washing machine is still leaking when in use and neither Home Depot nor Maytag wants to replace it. They want to send out yet again another technician to see if they can fix the problem before replacing it. This is totally incredulous!

Desired outcome: I JUST WANT A NEW WASHING MACHINE THAT WORKS!

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance although I wish it was under better circumstances.

I'd like to introduce myself. As my handle suggests, I'd like to try and assist you with a solution. There are those who are just here to complain. As the website's name implies, that's okay however, on its own, is not likely to lead to a satisfactory outcome.

So with that said, if you are really trying to resolve a problem, if like to help. In order to do so, it's important to open in determining what the actual problem is and how it's properly resolved. The issue may be that of the unit but it may also be something else that you're more in control of. The best part of these kind of issues is that they're usually the easiest to fix.

In your particular case, you have (a) leaking hose(s). The most common hoses to have problems are the ones supplied by the consumer. What?! You mean these hoses aren't supplied by the manufacturer?! Yep. And you'd be surprised how many people purchase a new washer and not replace the hoses or, if they do replace the hoses, they buy the cheapest on the market. This is not an area to try and save money. You want to invest in a high quality, braided stainless set of hot and cold hoses. Use a liberal amount of quality plumber's dope to insulate the threads.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, let us know.

"Mr. Helpful", did you note that the machine is having service repairs under warranty as the machine is under a year old, and that a repairman came twice and replaced at least one water hose twice and that it didn't fix the problem?

It appears to me that the lady may not be mechanically inclined and is relying on Home Depot and Maytag service to diagnose and fix the problem, as many people do. Maytag's and/or Home Depot's service have failed her twice. It is not the customer's fault if the supposedly knowledgeable technicians are using inferior parts, and you seem to be accepting it as fact that the leak was diagnosed correctly in the first place, which I suspect is doubtful as the fix didn't work.

Even if it is the hoses, the fact that they may not be covered under warranty, and the consumer may be liable for charges, does not excuse the fact that supposedly competent Maytag approved technicians are failing to resolve the problem.

Another clue that it isn't simply a water hose problem is, that in the Lady's words, it is leaking when in use. A leaky water hose would tend to leak continuously, whether in use or not, unless the Lady is turning on and off the faucets manually between loads (and that is a good practice, but one that I think few do).

So again, I find your inability to look at the facts in your rush to defend the appliance industry and blame the consumer to not be helpful.

One other thought: if you believe that you need to use a liberal amount of plumber's dope on the threads, you better just go ahead and have someone knowledgeable install the hoses for you, someone who knows that the connections aren't thread-sealing, but use a rubber washer to seal, and who thus knows how to tighten the connections properly.

If for some reason you do decide you have to use plumber's dope, I would use it very sparingly. You don't want anything gumming up the screen that should be installed in the end of the hose or, even worse, messing up the inlet valve solenoid.

I especially have never used anything on plastic connections such as on the back of washing machines, but if I was to use anything it would be Teflon tape.

mrs harper i have the problems maytag is selling us a machine that does not work and i hope you have better luck with maytag or / and home depot than i did both of them push off responsibilty on each other you would think these were made in china not u.s.a. where as we could expect something like this mr helpful is just a computer trying to buy time until they figure out what to do . i wish more people would read these complaints before putting their trust in maytag !

Maytag Maytag refrigerator/freezer

Ice maker stopped working after 1 1/2 years, I called Maytag 3 times and all they could say is that they apologize for the situation. They will do nothing to provide assistance. The model I have is known to have issues due to the wires built in the bottom of the door and when the door opens, each time it is stretching the wires, which causes the wires to breaks.

Lessen here is : Do Not Purchase Maytag appliance.

Desired outcome: According to service man, the freezer door needs to be replaced which is approximately $1000.

Maytag "did* have a great reputation. Maytag was acquired by Whirlpool in 2005. Whirlpool has in the past decade or so destroyed not only the Maytag name, but their own brand.

Somehow, despite all Mr. Helpful's seemingly great knowledge of the industry, the facts seem to escape him. I don't know if he is paid to shill for the industry or what, but he is as phony as his name.

Wonderful. Maytag wins awards for such things as its "Marketing and Advertising Work" and its innovation in gimmicky features, little to nothing to do with customer satisfaction or durability. No honest person would ever suggest that Maytag quality has done anything but plummet since Whirlpool acquired the rights to the name. Personally I want value, a product that will last, and not gimmicks and disposable products. While you're looking at the 5 star reviews you might also look at all the one star reviews, and consider who made the 5 star reviews and under what conditions. As I recall, last I looked at reviews the vast majority of them were submitted under some promotional consideration, and most of them were submitted soon after purchasing the product before the inherent problems had time to become apparent. Interested people may want to look at sites that rate the legitimacy of reviews. (reviewmeta.com, fakespot.com, etc.)

Maybe an unbiased person would be interested in exactly who issues the awards and how they are determined, and who influences them. For instance, how much does the Whirlpool Corp. donate to those organizations?

Are you being paid to shill for the industry? If not, what is your purpose in being here. Your replies are not helpful, for instance as Tonya says she has already contacted Maytag, so it doesn't do any good for you to tell her to contact them again when they obviously don't care (and I have personal experience with their inexcusably dismal customer service). And in my informed opinion, any assertion you make about problems not being common and reflective of the brand is an outright lie.

Maytag washer and dryer

in February 2020 we purchased new Maytag washer and dryer from our local Best Buy store, after three months the washer started tearing up our cloths by catching it between the agitator and the tub opening. We called for service and the repair man told us this was a common issue; however, Maytag didn't want to publicly disclose it and was addressing the complaints as they came in. I specifically asked the repair man if this was going to happen again, he assured us the fix would resolve this problem. When I called and complained about my bedding being torn, they simply dismissed my complaint and told me they were not going to reimbursee me for any damages. Fastforward March 2022 we started having the same problem again, I called Maytag and they informed me that I was outside of the service agreement time, and they couldn't and wouldn't repair the machine free of charge. I find it inconceivable that a corporation as big as Whirlpool/ Maytag put such little value in their product, especially since this was a reoccurring issue. Your representative told me she would give me a 40% discount on another Maytag washer, I found that laughable since my experience with your product has been so disappointing. I will let anyone, and everyone know about my experience with your company and product. PRETTY DISGUSTING !

Desired outcome: I expected my washer to be repaired. THATS ALL, You dont have to read my mind just listen to your consumers.

I bought a washer and dryer brand new in 2018. Within a couple months washer broke down. Maytag told me to buy my own parts and call a repairman! Do you buy your own parts when you take your car to a mechanic and bring them before he will work on your car? It was ridiculous. Took me over a month to get it fixed and it was only a couple months old! Now my dryer has broken. I will NEVER BUY MAYTAG AGAIN. Its the worst product with the worst customer service.

Take a moment to contact the retailer you purchased the unit through. You may find that they can assist you in getting it serviced and you'll continue to have many years of enjoyable use of Maytag.

the washer does not properly agitate or fill with water and clothes are dirty and smelly this is not the washer for me or my family . this washer is like a dry cleaner, where you take your un washables . ifI were a family of 2 and only wore polyester or silk fabric close to those , maybe it would work for me. I am a cotton girl and would not be seen in polyester ,so what can you do for me that a tech from maytag could not do .? it is the worst machine ever released to the public and that`s a fact .I would like to have my hard earned money returned ,and you can have your lemon back !
