Maytag worst washing I ever owned

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 last fall. We picked this model because it had a large tub for washing blankets and large loads. It is the biggest disappointment we ever had. It is incapable of washing a large capacity load without balling the laundry up in a tight ball. It will not wash a load of sheets or blankets without going out of balance AT LEAST 4 times. It's not much fun wrestling a queen-size blanket that is full of water and wrapped up in a tight ball. This is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE -- DO NOT buy one of these. The only guarantee is that you'll regret your purchase and develop even more of a hatred for doing laundry.

Charged a service call plus labor plus part for a 10 minute job to replace the control board. Total cost $346. Went through one complete wash cycle normally. One week later, worked for two loads OK (I think, as my wife did not complain, but has dimentia so is not reliable in recalling problems). The next week, the same F1 error stopped the filling, but as my wife did not complain, we did not call the problem in. The next week, She complained that she had to reset it, so the following week, I watched the cycle and observed the problem at the start of wash fill and start of rinse fill. a few days later, I got around to calling in to Maytag who scheduled them for another service call. I called ASI who said the part was covered by a 90-day warranty, but labor was only 30 days. They agreed to drop the service call charge, but I would have to pay the $80 labor. Since replacement is very easy, I asked to get the part and install it myself. They refused to supply the part without my paying to have it installed. I explained the problem to Maytag Customer Service who contacted ASI and verified the issue, but was told that they could not supply the part. I asked to speak with a Supervisor after explaining with some emotion that while I realize the person on the phone did not have authority to help, this unreliability and failure to replace a part that failed after 2 uses was totally unacceptable, and that I if I did not get satisfaction, I would start a campaign to let others know how unreliable these electronics are and how Maytag and its service agents are reluctant to work with customers to fix unreliable parts. The supervisor consulted with others and agreed to replace the part at no charge.
I am happy that Maytag finally stepped up to the plate; it appears from other complaints on this site for another appliance service company in Houston that Whirlpool does not routinely require their service agents to resolve service problems in a reasonable way. I only got satisfaction by taking extra time to push for a better resolution. ASI appliance did not help in this regard and left me holding the bag. They should have had a way for me to exchange the faulty part or waived the labor (30 days is not long enough, as this is a ruse to avoid the responsibilty in the event the costomer procrastinates). A little flexibilty would have avoided this complaint and kept the customer happier, considering I was disppointed to have to pay this large repair bill on a 3 year old washer.
When I first called they should have offered to supply the part for me to replace myself. That is what K&N Service does forSubZero refrigerators; I have replaced several parts with advice from their sales people (pay for parts, not labor) ASI also is a little sloppy with business practices: I could not get an invoice or recept from the technician who said one would be emailed to me -- never received.

Maytag defective range

I purchased a Maytag range July 2009 the first time I cleaned the oven, the top of the door turn yellow 'they replaced the top of the door and the gasket.That was June 2010, Jan. 2011 I cleaned the oven and the botton of the oven cracked. Maytag said it was no longer under warranty even though it is defective .I checked the oven temp, it runs about 60 degrees over the set temp.this is a defective stove.Maytag does not stand behind there products.

Maytag loud and poor performance

I have had problems from the day the unit was installed. (My plumber said I would hate it and he was soooo right) What a joke to call it the "quiet series" when it sounds like a rocket launch from start to finish. Dishes mostly come out more dirty than when they were put in...a salt looking deposit left behind. The racks are rusting out and the door latch broke. It is less than 5 years old and I will need to replace as nothing is on warranty. Outside of the mentioned problems, you want to know that the rubber surrounding the tub detiorates and overtime you could end up with a flood, according to the plumber.

Maytag blew up and was on fire

First of all, their Legacy Series Quiet Series 30 is on RECALL/ALERT - Heating Element causes a fire.

Well, their electric cook top blew up and caught on fire.
Safety personnel attempt that a small boil over, may have been the culprit. Get real - our old electric appliance with spill overs never had this problem.
Moreover, their knobs melt down - it's all scratched up under six months. Worse Product ever.

One Year Warranty - we eat the cost and I can tell you that it definitely won't be a MAYTAG, ever.

Risk losing your home with a MAYTAG APPLIANCE - MAJOR FIRE HAZARD.

Taking them ALL OUT - purchased the latter part of 2008. Today is March 16, 2011. Not quite THREE YEARS, and it just about burned our house down.

Maytag not standing behind product

I have a four month old stove, and the paint on the handle is bubbling and chipping off. Now I paid full price for this thing, at a local appliance store. For a month I tried to get in touch with Maytag, sent them proof of purchase, waited on hold countless times, then a rude man says "we don't cover cosmetic items" For a stove I bought in October? Are you kidding? So all the paint can chip off your appliances a few days after you buy them and you are just out of luck? POOR warranty. I am ripping the stove out, and returning it to the store. Never will I buy Maytag again.

My maytage clothes dryer that is less than 5years old is literally falling apart at the seams and maytag would do nothing to help me on the price to repair it.. never buy maytag again...

Maytag maxima 6000 dryer

Purchased the Maytag Maxima Washer/Dryer from Home Depot on 1/19/11. On 2/28/11, the dryer stopped working. Repair came out on 3/2, said that they had to order a part. On 3/7, I found out that the part required to fix the problem wasn't available and I'd have to contact Maytag. On 3/8, the rudest customer service person from Maytag called me back (several hours after the promised 24 hours call back time), and told me that they would send out another dryer in "7-14 business days." I spent $1, 000 on a dryer that I haven't been able to use for almost two weeks, and it will be several more before the replacement comes in. I will never buy another Maytag again, they don't stand behind their products or care about how their inferior products affect the people that buy them.

Maytag my maytag washing machine empties the water too fast for my 2& drain to handle

I have had a plumber out twice and the Maytag service man once. They both said that all newer washing machines have bigger water pumps and empty the water too fast for most 2" drains to handle and that I would have to clean my drain very often or replace it with a 3" drain.

If I would have known this I would never bought a new Maytag.

I would advise anyone who is thinking about a new washing machine to keep his old machine as long as possible or be prepared to pay a plumber very often.

Maytag - do not buy extended warranty

Under no circumstances buy the Maytag Extended Warranty. We live in NJ and the only repair service they have is A&E Factory Repair. They only had one contractor to work on our washer. Maytag won't run any longer

The dishwasher is not even 2 years old and lately has been hit or miss if the buttons will work to do the wash cycle. So, now it has completely gone to crap and it is only 2 years old. How in the world do companies sell products that last no more than a couple of years. I paid my hard earned money for a dishwasher to wash a load of dishes each day with our busy household and now left with crap. I am unsure what company to go with next for another new dishwasher when I can afford it as GE is the worst company for customer satisfaction as my previous dishwasher and dryer both died right outside of warrant and they would send me only a voucher for $50.00 for another one of their products...never again will I buy anything from them. Help...so frustrated!

I totally understand that we are being ripped off by inferior products that we are paying high dollars for. Once I reached an older age and had a higher income than having to buy at garage sales or St. Vincents I bought what I thought was high quality build to last me till I died products. My thirteen month old Maytage side by side refridgerator that I paid over $1, 500.00 for had the compressor go out just one month out of factory warranty. $800.00 to repair! Are you kidding me?

I also have had problems with new and improved dishwashers, washing machines and dryers. I am so sick of crap being made that I have vouched to going back & buying cheap old appliances for $75.-$100.00 instead of thousands that just break down. God Bless the consumer, warning...manufactures make junk!

Maytag constant repairs needed

A replacement for my 2007 Maytag Bravos Automatic Washer is appreciated; due to the fact that since I purchased said washer in April 2007, I have had nothing but problems as follows:

1st call out 10/12/07 washer was leaking
2nd call out 5/13/08 parts failure, per technition.
3rd call out 7/31/08 part failure, per technition (control board)
4th call out 11/11/08 parts failure again, control panel not working correctly.
5th call out 2/05/09 another parts failure/water pump.
6th call outs 1/14/10 installed suspention rod& control panel.
7th call out 12/11/10 waiting for parts to be installed on back order.

As you can see there is definately a problem with this washer and I would appreciate Maytag to replace it and not even consider another part or any other type of replacement. Your prompt attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Maytag door gasket weak magnet

I have a model MFD2561HEW Maytag refrigerater, which when I close the left door the right door becomes ajar and if your not watching for it the door will stay cracked open letting out the cold air. Seems to me that the gasket magnet is not strong enough to keep the door closed. I called Maytag Dependability Plus in Jeffersonville IN. prior to scheduling any service and they tell me that the gasket is not covered under my contract. So basically I Paid $186.53 for a worthless warranty, if the equipment is defective due to poor design then I should be covered, but not in there eyes. They want to schedule a repair service which I may be responsible for, forget that. I'd buy a gasket and install it myself before paying some ripoff fee for showing up to tell me I'm not covered. Next stop Better Business Bureau.

Maytag leaking tub

Puchased the washing maching back in 2004 and had to have the inner tub repaired in 2007 at a cost of $200.00. When this problem occurred again contacted Maytag to complain they offered me 15% off another washing machine. I told them that the machine was still good and wanted to get compenstation for the tub. They offered to pay 50% off the parts excluding labor. After a little research found out it was going to cost over $200.00 for repair and not sure what the parts were going to be. I contacted Maytag and they basically said that was all they could do for compenstation. I have always been loyal and bought Maytag products for my home and rentals, but have noticed their products are becoming more inferior. I will never again buy another Maytag product. My friend had a similiar experience and the repairman told here to just get rid of the washing machine they are not worth fixing and said it was a piece of junk. I cannot believe a company that prides itself on not having any repair problems are now turning out low quality products. I noticed plenty of complaints of similiar nature on the web about Maytags washing machine leaking tubs. These tubs are just hard plastic and over time deteriorate I cannot believe they sell junk like this and expect the consumer to continue to buy their products. MY ADVICE: DO NOT BUY MAYTAG

Maytag banging washer drum - maytag cannot tell me how to fix it, but have spent

Purchased a new 3000 Series Maytag Front-Load Washing Machine, and after less that 1 yr of use a loud banging noise began when the internal drum would spin. It would only get worse as the drum speed increased.

After talking to the Maytag Service Line, I was treated rudely as if it was my fault. A technician was sent to my home and after the first visit I spent $500+ for parts and labor to get the suggested repair - it did not work. They have now come a second time and spent another $75 for them to tell me it was now another problem which was $90 to make that repair.

Guess what ... it is still not working. The technician told me now that in fact it was another problem, that was not initially caught AND that the first two repairs may have been unnecessary. I have spent more on repairs than the original cost of the machine and Maytag specialist continue to guess at what could be wrong.

Maytag --- stand by your product and replace my machine. I thought these were built to last, what ever happened to the quality promise of the product. I use to believe in the brand, this is very disheartening.

My 3000 washer started banging at about 1 year old now it does'nt work at all, ( nice piece a ### maytag), guess i'll just shot holes in it, one of you maytag guys want to stand in front of it . BECAUSE YOU SURE DO'NT STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCE.

i am having the same bearing problem. mine is seized, its causing the belt to start to come apart. ive checked for any obstructions, none found. its all bearing failure. i am getting a F25 fault because the motor is spinning & the drum is not. this thing is not even 2 years old! thought this thing was suppose to be the latest & greatest. GUESS NOT!

The machine itself does not move. There is obvious slack in the bearing that gets the machine to spin and it causes the basket to bounce all over . There is atleast 1 inch of up and down movement while spinning. I have to schedule with the repair people but I am 99% sure it is the bearing. It went out about 1 year ago. What is crazy is the bearing cost more than a new machine because you have to change the whole assembly ( basket included). The first time it was warrantied and I was advised by my repairman to take the extended warranty, so I did.

I too have the same machine and mine went out 5 days before it made a year old. The whole insides had to be replaced because the bearing went out. I am going on it being 2 years old and have the same problem again. I did take the extended warranty. I am pretty sure it is the same issue again. I can see the basket jumping all over and it makes so much noise when it spins. This will be my last maytag. I have been through 3 sets in 10 years!

I have always wanted a maytag washer and had heard what a great product they were from the commericals on tv. The maytag brand name has always been around since I was old enough to remember and was always the best you could ever own.
On october 23, 2010 I bought a maytag washer and dryer from appliance smart at 2620 sawmill palce blvd. Columbus, ohio43235, [protected]. The washer and dryer was delivered on october 26, 2010, which I had to take off work for the delivery. The washer was bought right out of the box. Since the delivery, I have had my washer leak from the very first time I used it. It leaks into a big pond on my laundry room floor. This has been a nightmare. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small or large load. I have called appliance smart several times and spoke with the sales manager that I bought the washer from and he has repeatedly refer me to maytag and also his store manager. When I call maytag (Supervisor-richard roberts-customer service-employee # [protected]- they (Maytag) refers me back to applaince smart and this has been going on for several weeks since I purchased the appliances. No one wants to take responsibility for selling me a defective appliance.
I have had repair out 2 times in one week. Then again a 3rd time which they said they had to order a part. I had to take off from work to have a repairman come for the 4th time to (So-call) repair the washer. So far.. The washer has not leaked. But the problem is I do not want this washer or any product from either appliance smart or maytag. Their reputation has gone down the drain and I don’t trust them or their products. I had told both appiance smart and maytag that I wanted my money back and that they could come get their appliance.
I have missed work and classes that I take on saturday mornings. No one has mentioned what they could do for me since I have lost money and time on this. I have had this appliance less than a month and repair has been out here 4 times.
No one should have to go through what I did. I will never buy another product from appliance smart or a maytag brand ever!
Time frame:
10/27/10-called salesman-appliance smart-matt penfound and complained about washer leaking. Told me to call capital city app. Repair.
11/1/10-repairman comes out from capital city app. Repair-repairman says he gets a lot of complaints about these type of washers and that they all leak. Repairman leaves - washer still leaks.
11/6/10-repairman from capital city app. Repair comes out ran cycle with clothes-washer still leaks.
11/8/10-talk to salesman at applaince smart said he would talk to his store manager and get back with me. Salesman called and said they needed to send repair out again
11/15/10-store manager called (Don) he said all they could do is send another repair person out. I told him to come and get the washer and that I wanted my money back he just talked over me. I tried to explain that the washer has been leaking from day one but he would not listen to my explanation. I told the store manager, what about your 100% money back guaranteed on their website? He didn’t say a word…….
11/22/10-took off work to meet repairman. Waiting for appliance smart to call me.

Shortly after writing this complaint we moved to a new home where we have a Frigidaire Affinity series washer and dryer, now about 3 years old. They are excellent, trouble-free units that are well-engineered. The clothes always come clean, there are a variety of cleaning options (add steam, whites only, etc) and rugs and comforters are no problem. The units are quiet and energy-efficient. No complaints at all - they perform flawlessly. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat - highly recommended.

We bought a bravo washer at Sears in Santa Maria ca. Ive had nothing but problems. Almost everything has been replaced in the machine. We are very unhappy with this machine. It must be a lemon. Now today machine stopped. Cant even open up the machine. The older plain machines are better. I would sure like to return it and get the old type instead.my parents have old type never have problems. Thought I would let you know thank you.

Maytag/ Whirlpool does not make products as good as they used to.
Their appliance lines fall apart after the first year installed.
That is after their warranty last.
They are very smart about it.

Linda, get to the Regional Sales Manager for Maytag. I had a similar problem with a Whirlpool washer bought last year at Lowe's and found out when I accidentally ran into the RSM (who was training Lowe's employees that day) that Whirlpool's policy (they of course own Maytag) is to replace a unit or refund the customer's money after 3 service calls under warranty.

Unfortunately in my case the "problem" was the design of the "new energy-efficient" washer that has no agitator, so the clothes don't come clean. Having more service calls would not have solved anything. I instead wound up buying a replacement washer - a 2 yr old demo unit with agitator, still on the floor at Lowe's - and selling my 9 month old Whirlpool Cabrio on Craigslist at a loss. But now my dirty work clothes come clean. I own rental properties and have switched back to old-design GE washers and dryers - you know, the non-energy-efficient ones that actually work. No tenant complaints.

Maytag part on backorder for 2 months

I purchased a brand new Maytag front loader washer in July 2010. In October the machine broke and the part has a backorder or 164 for Canada alone and is not expected until mid December. Sears has a policy of replacing their appliances if the repair is not done in 30 days. I have spent 1 week, 1 hour every morning, getting the same answer. We are waiting for the part and its expected in December. When I ask when they are going to replace the machine, they say that the service manager has to make that decision and we will send an email. I hear this every single day, the same answer. By the time they repair this machine, with $100 per week in laundry mat for a family of 5, I might as well buy another machine. Never ever buy products from Sears that has a warranty. They do not support their warranty and service in a timely manner. 3 month old washing machine and I am in the laundry mat.

Maytag builds product designed to fail

I purchased two Maytag electric ovens model MEW5530DDW a little over five years ago. They are not used daily and are used together only on holidays. Within days of each other both control panels failed. They cannot be repaired and cost $350 each to replace. Clearly this product is built to fail so that Maytag can sell replacement parts. It is outrageous that there is no way to repair the control panel and that they are so expensive to replace. I will never buy another Maytag oven nor one with touch pad controls. Interestingly, the only ovens with easy to repair knobs are European models.

Maytag junk service

Maytag washers and dryers will burn you house down. Wiring harness will catch fire. Mine almost did. Thank God I caught it in time!Maytag will do nothing because the washer is two years old. I have had Maytags for 20 years without a problem. Mine was a bucket of rust after two years. Please stay away from maytag. Model MTW5740TQ Lowes stores know about the problem and will do nothing and continue to sell them!

Maytag service does not exist. They will try everything not to help you with your problem. The company is a joke! What has happen to American pride in workmanship. Time for a class action. Whirlpool bought the company and is riding on the good name of Maytag-it's just a matter of time when people will get smart and stop buying their products. The internet is full of complaints about MAYTAG JUNK.

Maytag poor quality-doesn't last

I built my house 5 1/2 years ago and had all new appliances installed. Paid to upgrade the standard refrigerator for the French Door model with the freezer on the bottom. We had issues right off the bat with the water dispenser and the ice machine. Water is fixed but gave up trying to get the ice machine to work. Today, six months after the warranty expired the compressor went out overnight on the unit and all of the food was lost. After calling Maytag and hearing there was Nothing they could do we called a "NOT SO LONELY MAYTAG REPAIRMAN" to find out that to repair it was going to cost between $750 and $1000 and that the new compressor would only be guaranteed for 30 days. Instead I wound up going out and for $1500 for an LG french door Refrigerator which has a 10 year compressor warranty.

Maytag bad service

Purchased a Maytag washer Model # MTW562OTQ1 two years ago. We started noticing our clothes had rust marks on them. Looked at the inside drum with a flashlight and noticed the center of the whole drum is rusting out. Called customer Service line and they offered us a discount on the part only not labor or a replacement. DO NOT BUY a Whirlpool or Maytag washer. They do not stand by their products. We paid for a top of the line product and it needs to be replaced in two years. I also mentioned I had a serious safety concern about the start/stop knob feature. Don't they have to report that somewhere? I was asked no additional questions about the SAFETY concern. There's rubber on the start/stop button and when you place the lid against it while filling the tub up the lid automatically slams down. The lid slams down like a gilatene and could really seriously hurt someone. Obviously, customer service didn't care too much when we called when the washer was first purchased and when we mentioned it again tonight.

Maytag unreilable preferred service provider for maytag

I have had problems with Maytag and getting a preferred service provider to come out to service a Microwave I purchased in Feburary 2010. It quit working in Sept 2010, I got an appointment lined up with Town and Country appliances, Billings Montana - what a joke. Because they tried to call once on my cellphone and I didn't answer, they didn't show up. I had someone at my house waiting for the repairman to arrive. Now this person can't come for 3 more weeks and they are the only repair service that repairs Maytag in our area. I usually buy Kenmore and have never had problems getting Sears to come do a maintance check - my Kenmore products have never been a problem so I haven't had to have service done, but they always show up when they say that they are going to. I can't say the same for Town & Country Appliances of Billings Montana. Their receptionist is the meanest person I have ever had to deal with - very unprofessional

As a follow-up on this, the customer contacted Maytag who then contacted me, the servicer. I explained the situation and advised Maytag that I will not provide service to this customer...ever. I am not sure what the customer did to get her microwave going, but would not recommend being rude and demanding when you call for warranty service. The warranty providers are independent contractors who work for much less than their standard rate on warranty calls. They are not affiliated with the manufacturer and have no control over anything other than fixing your appliance, and that includes parts issues. So, if I have a warranty customer that is not courteous and is unwilling to work with what we have to offer in the line of scheduling, I refer them to the manufacturer or another servicer. Life is too short to have to deal with crabby people! As the old saying goes, you catch more flies with honey! So, Ms. Sheila Jorgensen, I hope you have gotten your appliance issue squared away and life in Roundup, MT is back to normal for you.

This person has not told all regarding her situation. She lives 50 miles from Billings and expected immediate service for her microwave. She was scheduled and the day of service was contacted on a cell number and a phone number with no answer on either phone. Our policy is if there is no answer, we assume nobody is home and do not proceed to the home, especially 50 miles away! This customer was rude and demandingwhen she called in and was dealt with professionally but was disgruntled with what we had to offer. I will not work for this customer again!
