Mavis Discount Tire customer service, and work performed in my vehicle

In 6/26/19 I bought my car in for a oil change 2 new front tires and an alignment by 6/27/19 my oil light came back on. Shortly after my check engine light. I called in and made a complaint on 7/9/19 no one got back to me. 7/14/19 I called in and made another complaint b/c my toes came off. At the time of service/after the mechanics suggested shocks only I asked was my car safe b/c i do have a commute to & from work & my children to school they said I'd be fine. Looks to me like your ball joint broke. Cars break they just do. You need a Controll arm with a ball joint and have them do it.
Its something that nobody can always see to prevent it just happens

Mavis Discount Tire unauthorized work performed / overcharging

On Sunday July 7, 2019, I brought my car in to get brakes done. I was told to leave the car and I would be called. I was called shortly thereafter where I was told I needed brake pads, rotors, calipers, a wheel alignment, rear shocks, and 2 front tires for a total of $900. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT, I do not need all of that, all I want done are my brakes, rotors and calipers - how much is that? I was told that the mechanic needed to be consulted and I would be called back. The phone call I received hours later was that of saying that my car was ready for pickup. I was never informed of the new amount I was going to be charged, nor did I give authorization or permission for work to be done. When I picked up my car, I was told the total amount was $900 - the exact amount I said ABSOLUTELY NOT to earlier that day. The amount should have been substantially lower because I opted NOT to get the wheel alignment, 2 front tires or the rear shocks. I was informed that I spoke to two different people on the phone and there was a miscommunication and that the $900 was for the 3 things I wanted done - brakes, rotors and calipers. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE! Apologies for miscommunications came once again came and I was given a $35 discount. I find it appalling that I was taken advantage of, no doubt because I am a woman and know very little about cars and prices of parts and labor. Shame on this Mavis location for overcharging me, not getting my authorization and for taking advantage of me. As I was speaking to Hector (who has a neck tattoo with the name Kimberly), he was semi-laughing with a smirk on his face. I was completely offended and beyond livid at this entire situation and lack of disrespect by him. I had no choice but to pay the amount to get my car, but have disputed the charge with my credit card company and am going to contact Help Me Howard to expose this situation and let the entire county of Orange know what they did to me. I have also posted this disgraceful act on FB to the Orange County NY Moms page, as well as a YELP review. They cannot continue to take advantage of women, overcharge women, and perform unauthorized work.

Yes, I went to them for help, not to be ripped off, taken advantage of, or forced to pay for work that I did not agree to, nor give consent for. Review/complain forums are here for people who want to tell their experience, and I did just that, your opinion on the matter is irrelevant if you have nothing to do with it. I do feel that I was taken advantage of in every way. Women and those unaware or inexperienced with cars, parts, prices, etc. should know what I went through. This is a forum where you can complain/review/explain and/or warn others. I went to them for help, and they took advantage and did work without my consent - - that is the real issue with my being a woman, because I bet they wouldn't have done that to a man. No one asked for your opinion anyway! Everyone is entitled to their opinions and can write their stories on these forums. If you don't like it, don't read it. If Help Me Howard went to them, I'm 100% sure they wouldn't pull any stunts on him - male and media! Everyone has a law team - I work for a large Manhattan law firm! Have a nice day!

Short and sweet, mavis charged me $3,650 to change a catalytic converter, replace the front only quick strut assembly, 2tires on front, and they told me the left front tie rod end need replacing, I did the passenger side last august, $30 for a Moog end is what I paid so I figured while I’m here just get it done. And of course I live in New York, it’s friggin freezing. And of course there was more wrong they told me that the oil pan had a hole it, and wh Ed n the drained it, there was only about 1 quart of oil, if this were true 2 things would have happened first the Van would have thrown o as n oil light indicator, and second I would easily been able to look in my drive way for oil spots. I was charged $150 for oil change labor, are you kidding. My invoice is loaded with sketchy charges that were never done, I added up the work that I came in to have done, or approved of upon being notified that there was an issue, total was $2,497 and change, however my invoice total was $3,650.02.

Mavis Discount Tire new tires and front end alignment

had new tires put on car because front was out of alignment. mavis replaced tires and did a front end alignment. a day later the car was making scrapeing noises and vibration. took car to my mechanic and was told the left tire was about to fall off it was so loose. went to mavis in Cortland ny and was told there was a period of time that I had to check my lug nuts myself. what a bunch of bull. we don't even know if front end was properly aligned because tire was so loose. we will be looking for a better tire store that is willing to stand by their work.

Mavis Discount Tire oil change, tire rotation, state inspection

I have been here since 8.am. People who came after me got their vehicle up on the rack. It's been 45 min still haven't touched my vehicle. I've been getting my services done from Mavis for many years, and for the convenience I stopped by this location. The employee name Harry Tried to charge me extra for tire rotation even though I asked him to check the previous history I have never paid extra for tire rotation whenever I get an oil change because it's complimentary and part of the service. When I pointed him that he got aggravated and started to take personal anger on my by holing up on my vehicle without starting the services. This is very frustrating for a Monday morning. I'm at a point getting the key and take my business somewhere else. Employees like this is a Cancer disease to the entire company and you should cut it off before it spread out to other employees. Also, it indicates how poor management and the company's operating level.

Mavis Discount Tire Alignment

I arrived for an alignment they put my truck up on the rack attach sensors to the wheels I could see multiple graphs in red saying stuff was out of Acceptable range he adjusted the toe and then put the truck down and didn't do anything further when I questioned them about it they tried telling me everything was within acceptable range but why was it red . not happy feel they were just lazy did not perform their job to the best of their ability. The more I thought about it the less happy I was about it I called back spoke to the manager Michael . all he seem to want to do is bring it back and put it back on the rack and have his guy mess with it again should've been done the first time around.

A lot of caster and camber angles aren't adjustable per vehicle manufacturers your Mavis guy will show you that.Your spring are worn out and your suspension is sagging due to gravity my guess.
Brand new trucks off the car lot are red. Your main tire wearing angel are tow.

A lot of camber and cam kits are needed to correct 400plus to 800 for that alignment I have seem.

Mavis Discount Tire stolen money out of my compartment

I had a flat tire and decided to stop at mavis discount in New Bruinswick NJ to get it replaced. I was in a hurry because I had work and I didn't think of taking anything out of my car, after receiving my car I realized a visa gift card of 100 was gone, 250 also gone that were in my compartment. I called the location and the onsite supervisor told me he has gone through the Camera footage and nobody took to money. I said okay but can I see it too so my mind is at peace because my money went missing right after and I was suspecting the mechanic who fixed my car. They said they will get back to me. They did not, decided to call them again, they said they wouldn't let me see it. I just want to know why you have Cameras on site, if it's not for the safety of customers. How is it okay that somebody can go as far as opening a customers compartable, when you're there to get ur tire serviced

To look for your wheel lock maybe? Gift card can be tracked so call the gift card of find the receipt or the person that bought it. Advice i no matter what shop or valet service ECT do not ever leave money in the car . People are slim sometimes EVERY where in EVERY walk of life.

Carma will get them one day. It always does.

Mavis Discount Tire bellmore, ny location

I just returned from the above location after having my car inspected. The ONLY reason I chose Mavis was b/c I thought I might need tires. First f all, the place was filthy & my car was left with grease on the seat & steering wheel. Bits of paper from changing the inspection sticker were left on my dashboard & the floor was full of mud. My car is maintained in pristine condition but after waiting well over 2 hours, I wasn't going to go back inside & complain. Needless to say, I was not happy!

The manager(?), Anthony told me in front of other customers how awful his mechanics were; they are unreliable, nasty, late to work, etc, etc, etc. He said he'd like to "spit in their faces" but if he fires them, it's hard to replace them b/c the pay is so poor. I thought that was extremely unprofessional.

I WILL NEVER USE Mavis again! How does your monopoly of a company allow such conditions to exist. Shame on you👎🏻👎🏻

People want jobs but dont want to work. generations are less and less experienced to hard work basics at a young age. It's the new normally unfortunately. I know and you know all the problems. The solution need to start happening or the USA is in big trouble with that.

Mavis Discount Tire tire installation alignment

I called to schedule appointment. They asked when I could come in I told them 20 minutes get there and it took over 3 hours before they even looked at the car whole process took over 5 hours. Service was horrible. Amy at the front desk is not a fit for this job. She doesn't communicate with the customer to let me know what was going on. I came in for specific things and she tried to upsell things that I don't need. Horrible experience

Mavis Discount Tire promised tire purchase and installation on a travel trailer

On Wednesday, June 19th, my husband went to the Mavis Tire on W. Genesee St in Camillus to inquire about the purchase and installation of 4 tires for our travel trailer. The man behind the counter was wearing a white shirt, so he thought he was the manager. This gentleman was very cordial and said he could get 4 tires and quoted a price with installation to be done on Saturday the 22nd.

We took the camper out there only to be treated with rudeness. A man with a blue shirt, was outside and asked what we were here for. We said to have tires put on.
He then claimed that he was the manager and said that they do not install tires on a camper due to the fact, they can't take tools out of the bay to work in a parking lot. When he turned to another customer, we started talking to a mechanic who happened to be standing there and at that point he rushed over and said "you can't talk to him, he's JUST the tire guy, I'M the manager". Well, in shock of this poor guy being humiliated in front of others, I apologized to him and followed the manager into the office.

Once inside, he said he couldn't find our name in the computer, had no tires for us, knew nothing about the order, claimed he phoned the so called guy who worked on Wednesday and was told that he too knew nothing about camper tires or the fireman who he gave a fire discount to. His customer service was disgusting and I told him so.

We've given them a lot of business between 2 vehicles and our camper over the years. The last manager that I met with in the fall was awesome - very welcoming. This dude...well, I was so mad that I told him how unprofessional he was, how rude he was and how he's lost our business. He didn't care. Another customer waiting also stated to us how he's experienced this same rudeness from this jerk.

Once we left, we called another tire store (Dunn Tire) and they happily placed an order and will install them in a couple of days (in their parking lot) when they come in. And... their ST tires are cheaper so we're saving money!

I've cut up my Mavis credit card due to the fact that I will not give this company any of my hard earned money when we've been treated like this. This store and your company lost a $500+ sale and future sales of everyone who I can talk to.

So I know they wanted to help you. Trailers are out of the wheel house so to speak. Why because of the skill level of the techs possibly and if the have the proper jacks and Jack stands which some do some dont.here. sounds like you were looking for a reason not to like mavis and your sliming them because they can't help you with a trailer not there specialty. My advise try a different Mavis location.

Mavis Discount Tire tire service

I'd purchased four tires from them and paid $19.66 per tire for mounting & balancing. i declined the extended warranty because I live 46 miles away and there is not a Mavis tire where I live. the tires was purchased on june 8th. I drove home and parked the (I use the car for road trips. I drive my truck daily). On june 11th I noticed that the rear driverside tire was completely flat. After inflating the tires and fully submerging them in water, I learned that the two rear tires was leaking around the valve stem. needlesstosay; the valve stem do not have to be removed to mount & balancde a tire. When I took it back to them (june 18} I was told that since I declined the extended warranty, that is not covered. I was forced to pay $116.38 for 4 TPMS's and labor. this is bulls**t! I had just bought the tires they replaced 3 months ago. they sabitoged my valve stem to exstort money. this is a theft of service. I paid because I was in a desparate situation. this is unfair buisness. I need re-emburstment.

Valve stem corrode Do some research. Nobody does anything other than HELPING you get your car on the road. Cars take money to maintain like it or not. In this industry we are bearer's of bad news and reality. Safety is the main concern. And they made you safe again.

Services: Car inspection and oil change. Truck passed inspection. They listed I needed new tires by winter and a shock was leaking and a new air filter. all thing Ill correct myself in do time. I think that it was disappointing that I didn't just say go ahead for all those items. Turn a $90.00 change into $1, 500.

After leaving the site. I could see from my dashboard indicators that none of the air had been checked in my tires because one I knew of was low. My windshields washer fluid was also empty and stayed that way. I have to wonder what type of service did I really get.

I have never left and inspection or oil change where all my fluids weren't checked and filled even for and extra price. Mavis is a tire store. How could let me leave without all the proper air in my tires.

I'm disappointed by this Mavis. I was hoping for the basic safer better service. I went as far as getting myself a Mavis credit card. I don't have a big trust level on this certain Mavis's services.

I say this with respect to you. Don't assume there going to do something's other than what's written on your work order. Even
What's seems to be simple air pressure check. Yeah those sensor's that tell you . Those have to be calibrated or recalibrated. Tires don't just loose air you have a leak that you need to fix. Just like the 60s where the gas station attendant's would check your oil and wash your Windows. Just a thought for you😀 tell them next time

Mavis Discount Tire brake job not performed

on5/26/18 I had your Marshall's Creek store do a brake job for which entailed having both the front and rear rotors and pads done. Within 2 months time I had to have the rear brakes and rotors as well as the parking brakes and right rear spindle replaced as the cables were never adjusted and destroyed everything. On 7/9/18 I had to purchase the spindle the cables and hardware kit as well as the adjusters. Today I just had to have the rear brakes and parking brakes done again only to find out that the cables and hardware was never changed. the customer number for the initial brake job is invoice# 882039 and for the job on 7/9 is invoice # 883069. The job today cost me $600.00 and am wondering if your company is going to provide any restitution to me since I paid you for work that was not performed.

I do not represent and have no affiliation with this company. However I have excellent experience in customer service and shop management. As you can see brake systems are way more than just brake pads and rotors. Sound to me like you had multiple repairs that were needed and the shop went with what was the best for value to you. Brakes system are complex one thing affects the other. Basically one thing fixed might not fix the symptoms of that problem. What kind of car do you drive with what

Mavis Discount Tire tire service

On Friday, June 7, 2019, I went to Mavic Discount Tire in 6801 Hadley Road, South Plainfield, NJ [protected] and inquired about availability of 205/55/R17 91H for my 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman S The store was out of stock and they have to order it. I agreed and I was told by counter person named Cece that it will arrived that day she will call me to install the tires. But I said to her make me an appointment the next day Saturday, June 8 at 1 pm if they cannot do it on Friday...she never called me on Friday. Came to Mavis on Saturday at 1 pm and I was told bey Cece that there were 12 persons ahead of me and it will a long time to wait. So I decided to make an appointment the following day, Sunday June 9 at 1 pm. I wanted to be assured that they will install it on Sunday and she said OK. Everything will be cleared in the morning and they will install my tire at 1 pm. Came back to MavisSunday June 9 at 1 pm and when I asked for Cece, I was told that Cece is on vacation to California and will be back after a week. I was told they cannot install my tire because nobody was there to install it and he will be closing the store after he finished with one person. I was told by Cece that Sunday they close at 5pm. Mavis is so unreliable and liars. Why did Cece made an appointment on Sunday June 9 at 1 pm when she knows she will be on vacation and assured me that Mavis will install the tires on Sunday. Very, very disappointed with Mavis and this is the first time I am dealing with them...bad impression. I am sure that I will never go back to them. ~Sonny S.

Mavis Discount Tire oil change/tire rotation

I called ahead of time for Oil change and tire rotation. They said bring it right in. I dropped off the car at 1:30 PM. They close at 5 PM and said that they will call me when finished. I called at 4 PM to check and they said that they were almost done. He stated that he would call me when finished. And then became 5 o'clock and I tried calling and no one answered. I then drove to the store to find my car unlocked with several hundred dollars worth of my personal items inside. All doors are locked and no one was there. My complaint is that they did not call me, and they left my car unlocked in front of their store with a lot of expensive personal items inside. I will have to wait until tomorrow morning to pick it up I guess. I may have another complaint at that time.

Mavis Discount Tire theft of services

This is the second time i was charged for an oil change but the filter wasn't. I had a 100.00 credit from Mavis East Peachtree city GA because a few months ago when the check of work was made-- we found the old filter was still on the van. (manager verified) Today we brought our 100.00 voucher for the next oil change and low and behold -- after insisting the filter was changed - the manager Juan checked the Tape-- he also saw the marks my man put on the filter, he NEVER changed the filter-- but kept telling the boss he did for the second time?
OK maybe once-- but same store-- same crew-- they're stealing and and we're paying for that?
Tomorrow I'm going to the DA in our county and hopefully the sheriff to have a police report made for theft of services against this company and store.
Yes I did try to call Juan but he wouldn't come to the phone-- these people are stealing from the customers and I'm just one of how many? Let's face it when the computer says you've done 1000 oil changes and only 50 filters were used? well really who's watching the store the same crooks who swear it's not happening. Why because mechanics aren't the ones ordering the filters-- management is. they know from inventory what's going on.

Sound like your out to get I'm sorry. Sound like the tech is telling his side to the manager and there going off what he's telling them. Next time stay there and watch them do it stand outside. Most new filters use a housing with a filter inside so being that said if you mark a housing it will be there forever.

Mavis Discount Tire tire rotation & nys inspection

4/7/2019 had 9am appointment for tire rotation & NYS Inspection. Arrived on time and was told 2 hour wait. I was ok with that & completed errands. Arrived back at 1115am, vehicle was not serviced. At 1215pm I stated I wanted to re-schedule and was told "You're next". At 1230pm, I was called and told my vehicle was done. A four wheel tire rotation & NYS Inspection completed within 15 minutes, AND the mechanic had time to inspect my brake pads, rotors and tires indicating they will need to be replaced soon, 'You're lucky it passed inspection". I bought my tires through Mavis in Geneseo NY, Jan 2018. I put 24, 245 miles on the tires in 16 months. Why would I need new tires if Goodyear states 65, 000 warranty? Also, I requested an alignment check on 4/27/2018 at this same location and the person at the desk stated "If the vehicle is not pulling, then you don't need an alignment". When I bought the tires in Geneseo, I was told to have the alignment checked before the 90 day warranty ran out. I recently took my vehicle to the dealer for, what I thought was another problem. These mechanics stated it was the tires and it appears they aren't being rotated. I have ALL receipts indicating tire rotation. I have put 28, 747 miles on since Jan 30, 2018. Why are these tires not lasting the 65, 000 miles stated by Goodyear? I have been reading the complaints posted and it appears Mavis is living the American Dream--- make $$$. I'm dreading calling Mavis in Geneseo to discuss the horrible wear on these tires. I paid over $746 for these. What can you do to keep my business?

Early tire wear is a definite indicator that you have some mechanical parts failure. Struts/ shocks NEED to be replaced every 60k. Tires need to be rotated EVERY 5-7k. Just think do you think Goodyear makes a 60k tire that wears out in 30k. No they have been around since the 1900s

Mavis Discount Tire false diagnosis

First of all, I have a 2015 Kia Forte. They told me I needed new front brakes. The car only had 35k miles on it. I found that peculiar, but went along "with the ride they took me on", $400 worth of service. Charged to my Bridgestone card.

They rotated the tires. I immediately noted a noise or "rubbing" or "binding" on the driver side front tire. My husband took it back the following week He was told that "poor factory shocks and struts" caused the tire wear, and when the tires were rotated to the front, I could hear the noise. We did NOT buy the recommended shocks or struts. that your service manager was trying to sell us and took the car to the dealer. Ironically, there was another gentleman in the waiting room that was told the same thing. The poor guy paid for shocks and struts.

I do have a bent rim, which was not noted by the mechanics at your shop. Yes, there is tire wear. The rim will be repaired by someone who works for the dealership and I will buy 2 new tires. Plus, I will get a guarantee on the rim. This will cost far less than the shocks and struts you tried to sell to my husband.

I would like a refund for the false information, selling brakes to me that I most likely did not need because I got the same song and dance about the "poor factory construction", and I will never, ever bring my car back to this location again.

Strut springs do break. Cars break. First major brake job on all cars 30k then about 60k then about 90k and so on.
People are almost always surprised some get defensive oh not my car. How could that be. The other poor guys comment. Not fair just because you feel a certain way doesn't mean that's what's happening. Good luck at the car stealership.

Angelia Jordan, [protected], srore in semmes Al, no resolution on previous complaint, still waiting for some one to explain where the new tires i bought went, and waiting for damage on my car to be repaired, no body calls, nobody had any explanation, what kinf of company are you running? I trusted your company to do eorlk i paid for, and i almost get killed. Im sure all records are tjere for you to see . Upu regional manager wad worthless, and very unprofessional as well ad your customet service reps.

Mavis Discount Tire poor customer service/unresolved service matter

4/19/19 rear pads and rotors replaced at above location. a day or so later ck engine light came on, days later service light came on. service alert is for rear break pads. I thought maybe the sensor was not properly installed or engaged. 5/20/19 10 AM, I went back to the location and notified Vincezo of findings. he asked that i leave vehicle to have a tech ck it. he said the sensor may have come loose. i told him I would wait but he said it would be a while. i had no way to get back to work and asked if I could return later. Vincero told me to come back at 4 PM. I got there at 4:05 PM and Vincezo said told me the mechanic was busy w another car & will get to mw soon. approx 4:55 PM Vincezo went outside and got into my car and instead of taking it into the shop he drove to the entrance door of office door got out and asked me to come into car and show him the light that came on. he said he only saw the brake malfunction and engine ck light on. he clearly did not know where the service indicator alert was and how to access it. i was aware of the lights he referenced. although I had already explained the situation to him in length several times, I got into the car and showed him the service light stating rear brakes are due and were just done by mavis. he said the reason for the service request was that the mileaged reached the numbers to do the breaks. I explained that the sensor may need to be checked and or system to be re-set. he dismissed me and said he was no longer going to explain because i was not listening. he said his computer was "fried" (no idea whaat that meant) and I should go to the dealer and have them reset it. i explained, the dealer did not do the breaks and I would have to pay. he told me I should manually re-set it myself. i told him I was not a mechanic and did not know how. He said he had nothing else to say and I can take the car anywhere I want and have it done. He was rude, obnoxious and did not treat me as a paying customer nor w the respect I deserved. I do not believe he understood the vehicle's system and he never had a mechanic look at it or make any further attempt to resolve the matter. I called customer service @ 5 PM and reported the incident to Jenell. I gave her my number and she said regional manager, Michael Lopez will get back to me on the following day. I did not hear from Mr. Lopez, and i called back on 5/23/19 and spoke to Joe who said Mr. Lopez was in a meeting and will get back to me on same day. he gave me ticket # 363743 and told me if I called back give that #. i did not hear back from Mr. Lopez or anyone from mavis to resolve this matter. I am writing this letter to request immediate resolve of this matter and compensation for the delay and unprofessionalism in the handling of this matter. mr. Vincezo should receive a form of administrative action for his negative behavior and for not doing anything to resolve this matter. my tel # [protected], I look forward to hearing from you. Mavis Discount Tire customer service

Was saddened to see Kauffman Tire sell out to Mavis in the Atlanta area in the past year. Was never a "raving" fan of Kauffman yet they provided fair prices and very good customer service. Can't speak of Mavis' prices because I haven't and don't plan to spend any money with them but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Recently picked up a nail and went to local Mavis store to have it repaired. The desk clerk said it would be $20., even though I bought the tires there. Additional cost road hazard or not Kauffman never charged for the occasional nail repair, because its called CUSTOMER SERVICE folks! For that $20. Mavis made on that one repair, they now have literally lost thousands of dollars of my business between tires for my four vehicles, oil changes, alignments and the occasional minor repair.
