MasterCuts The price of the hair cut and root touch up

I went to master it’s on February 2,2023 at the south park mall location in San Antonio Texas. I went in to get my haircut and my roots touched up because they said if they dye my hair it would be 300$. I didn’t want to pay that price. So the lady cut my hair and did the root touch up. Then she blow dried my hair and styled it very lightly just to see the layers. All I had done was a basic cut with layers in it. And touch up roots. When I got to the register when it was done they said it would be 140$. I was so mad. I was like what?! How much was the haircut they told me 45$. I was like wow why they told me because the length of my hair. And I asked how much the root touch up was and she said 95$. I ended up complaining but I also paid because I felt I didn’t have a choice. I feel like for what they did to my hair was not worth that much money.

Desired outcome: I want some of my money back

MasterCuts Hairstylist and hair cut

I took my daughter to great clips at bristol park in Northport. Hair stylist; better yet hair butcher name was Ashley. We went back up there and I told her how awful and uneven it was and she went pure straight "Getto" beware of Ashley, bad attitude and needs to be seriously schooled on how to cut hair. A two year old could have done a better job. This is pathetic to treat people like that. Especially not offering to fix it or offering a refund. Never had a problem with this place since they opened till now.

MasterCuts Haircut

I was in the Mastercuts located in Springfield Ohio on March 4, 2022. I requested a shampoo and haircut. The stylist began to spray my hair, after trying to brush my thick course hair she finally gave into washing my hair. The reason she gave for not wanting to wash my hair was she would be rubbing butts with the other girl. While sitting waiting for my hair to be cut, two of the stylist noticed that another one had gone to the bathroom and had been gone for a while. The proceeded to tell each other that “he must be taking a dump”. I found this very unprofessional and inappropriate. Once this was over the stylist began to cut my hair. I have never in my 50 years of getting haircuts have I ever had to lean to my sides but this day I did. I have a bad back and found this to be quite difficult and painful. Regarding the actual cut it wasn’t until the following day did I find that she did not cut anything near what I requested and had only taken thinning shears to my ends. Which damaged my hair worse than when I walked into the salon

Desired outcome: I would like to be compensated for the cost of the haircut so that I can go get my hair fixed in a salon the encourages professionalism and listens to what the client wants

MasterCuts Balayage

I went in to get a balayage done. I could have went to a friend but I decided to go to the place that had a hair dresser that use to do my hair when I was a child. I asked her who could do balayage and she booked me with the manager a week in advance.

The manager calls me a day before my appointment and tells me she booked someone else at the same time as me and asked if I could move my appointment when I had booked mine a week before.

When I got there I had told her exactly what I wanted and she told me she couldn't get my hair as light as I wanted but she would try and I told her that was fine just try to get it as light as possible.

She later started to add foils throughout my hair and I again stated if she can get it the way I wanted it, do what she can, and that's when she said she didn't know what I was talking about and continued to do what she was.

Throughout the process, she kept telling other customers that she lost "this girl" under all my hair and that she was using so much bleach making it sound like a hassel to go back and forth to make more bleach.

I ended up with hair that I did not like nor wanted and I had to leave the shop because it was closed with wet hair that wasnt cut or styled. When I realized I was leaving the shop with nothing clsoe to what I wanted she said I said I wanted highlights, when thats the last thing I would ask for, I hate highlights. then she proceeded to say that it would grow out to look like balayage.

Later on, I had called the hairdresser that recommended me to her and she said I should ask for a refund because it wasn't right how I was treated and I didn't get anything close to what I wanted. I called the manager and I told her very professionally and calmly if I could get a refund because I was not happy with the state my hair was in and that I did not want to go back to her to get it fixed. Instead of understanding my concerns, she kept going on about how long she was working for that day, how she double-booked, and how she had to use so much bleach for my hair and that she would not give me a refund and that it was the money she made and she had to use it for the supplies used for my hair, she then stated that she does not want to work again for me or customers like me.

A little back story about me, my hair never use to grow past my shoulders for years. After treatment, it started to grow and I was terrified to do anything to my hair that could jeopardize its health of it. Going in and being judged for the length of my hair and then also leaving the salon with hair that was damaged broke my self-esteem, I could not even go to work at the hospital without feeling embarrassed.

This happened during the summer and I finally found the courage to get it fixed as Im working in a different hospital now and I don't want to look unprofessional with the blocks of highlights in my hair. I have a video of my hair of how damaged it was before months of treatment and getting it fixed.

I'm asking for a formal apology from the manager from that salon and a refund as even months later from the appointment I'm still thinking about how I was embarrassed and treated in public.

MasterCuts hair dye

I got my hair dyed at the mastercuts in west covina last november and i've been going and forth with customer service to get a refund back. This is unacceptable for two months already and I come to find out that the salon is now permanently closed. I my hair is way to dark now when all I had asked for was a caramel color. I want my refund for my hair didnt come out the way I asked!

MasterCuts haircut

The cut was so wrong I have to give 0/5. I asked to have my haircut cleaned up and only to cut it to shoulder length. I had said to the male hairdresser (Gord) that I liked what was happening on my left side of my hair and only to take off an inch. I had some nice layering going on.
He was so busy talking about his parent problems that he wasn't paying attention. I commented that is was looking rather short. The next thing I know is 2 inches of my hair is gone!
My hair is now collar length not shoulder length and with slight blending. He replied that he could pull it for me to make it longer and he saved me from coming in again as it would have more time to grow.
In hindsight, I should have stopped the cut and walked out. I wouldn't have cared if only part of it was cut. It sure would have beat the hell out of what I have to deal with for the next 6 month as the cut grows out. Thanks for nothing.

MasterCuts hair stylist and haircut complaint

I always come to the eureka branch to cut my hair, and never had an issue, since you guys do all hair types. I just did my first haircut in two years here, and never had an issue all the times I've gone. However, there was a caucasian girl with colored cornrows that cut my hair this time, and she was clearly fazed, and even bragged about getting drunk at the bars the night before, with a clearly visible hickey mark on her neck, that messed up with my hair by cutting the general length too short(which in general isn't too much of an issue), but then slant-sheared my forehead hair, and messed up by going inches higher than expected, and now a piece of my hair in the front of my face is an inch long, and I have curly hair too, so now it's messed up. I gasped and told her that she messed up, and said sorry with an attitude, but progressed by saying that "maybe next time, you should straighten your hair so you can see how it would've turn up", and I felt discriminated for my curly hair, and I told her "I thought you guys cut all types of hair, not just straight hair", and she said "I didn't say that". She then gave me more attitude by saying "I can't do anything to this. Do you want me to glue it back on?", and I got really frustrated at her comment, and I asked for someone else to cut my hair. The manager, after ten minutes of waiting, helped with the situation, of my messed up hair and me crying of a panic attack, with grace and as much as she could do with the hair, which she clearly saw as well that it was messed up. I wasn't charged for the haircut, and was sent home with some wax "because that is all I can do now with the messed up hair; by tucking it with other strands, and try to hide it".
My hair is still messed up. Your manager in this branch is great and mature, but that worker isn't, and I want her to lose her job after her discriminating me for my curly hair, and after telling me that she "can glue it back on for me". I don't remember her name, but she worked at the eureka Bayshore Mall branch today from 12-3 block range. I will want to be updated about the situation resolved with your immature employee.

MasterCuts haircut

My daughter went on 9/15/22019 to get a cut. The women cut her ear twice with the clippers. Her grandmother took her in to get this done. After she came home her ear was still bleeding. I washed it up . I called the hair salon and left message to have manger call. The lady I talked to said manger would call me but never did. After two hours I got her ear stopped bleeding. The cut wasn't even done right. I feel as she shouldn't had to pay on a cut that was wrong and lady didn't know what was doing.

MasterCuts haircut

I went to a local mastercuts that I've been going to for a few years. I asked for the sides trimmed and the top left alone but she cut the top very short. Didn't tell me the bottom price for a men's haircut was $24 and was supposed to include a shampoo and scalp massage which was never offered. I would've definitely gone to a different salon if I knew they jacked the price up so much. Very dissatisfied and told the employee same but my dissatisfaction was ignored.

I am contacting you after being a loyal customer since 2013. My last visit was terrible enough it really made me start looking for other salons to have my service at. It was the first time I have a haircut with an extremely unskilled employee. She hardly sprayed my hair with water before cutting, her hands were very unstable, she literally did nothing with my hair and finished my "cut" in less than 5 minutes. When I asked her to eliminate as much as possible from the layers of my hair she said impatiently, "I am trying honey." I entered the salon 630 pm and was checked out 642 pm.
The worst thing was yet to happen when I checked out. Last time I visited was in February and the regular haircut charge was around 18.00. This time, I went in not knowing there were significant changes in the policy and after the haircut was made (whcih was not even a haircut to be honest) I was surprised that the charge was 24 dollars? I am not sure the company has done enough to illuminate to its customers these changes, we are not talking about a couple of dollars increase. This is huge amount. My understanding is that when something like that happens, the company needs to do something so that the former customers dont walk in with incorrect knowledge about a rate that was almost stable for the past couple of years.
I am sorry to tell you that for me, the 26.00 I spent at the Ithaca, NY salon that day was truly a waste of money. I felt I was fooled by the whole transaction: on the one hand I had the most terrible hairdresser ever there is (I am not sure how she got her licence) on the other the charge I had to pay after the so-called haircut was totally irrational, and for me to be honest had I known about such increase in rates a head of time, I would not have come for a haircut altogether!
This would be the last time I come to the salon. I am totally disappointed because I have been with them for six years now. About time to move on and look for another franchise/ local business. I would like to ask for a refund for this service. I literally came home with NOTHING changed in my looks; there was only resentment and a sense of foolishness.

MasterCuts bad haircut

i was jus tryign to get a little bit of resolution to to very bad experience that i had getting a haircut at your fairmont location from Elizabeth ...it was not a good...she left the bottom of my hair uneven and the layers were all uneven and my fiance even had to cut straglers off ...and i was not happy at all...especially since i bought products that day also and spent 70...and then they send me a refund for 16...which isnt enough to even cover the haircut bcuase i got my hair washeeed styled and everyhting and its really hard for me to get out bcause im disabled and im wheelchair bound and then i can get out and then this happens..it was devastating..and she wont even wirte me back becuase im not happy with the 16 refund card that Lula Chandler senior district leader gave me...this happened on 4/22 at about 2 pm by Elizabeth and the store number was 4930...I would realy appreciate yoru promt attention to this matter

MasterCuts haircut

Hi, I received a haircut yesterday may 6, 2019 in Abilene Texas. I've been cutting my hair at master cuts for years now never had a problem. Yesterday though i was very unhappy which I made very clear several times. The young girl there didn't do a very good job I've had short hair most of my life so I know how I like my hair cut I have so many uneven pieces long hairs that are very noticeable and the left side of my hair is so poorly cut I told this to the girl and she did nothing to fix it some texturizing would of easily fixed this issue but again she didn't even attempt to fix it. So now I have to pay someone locally where I live to recut my hair to fix the poor haircut I was given. I shouldn't of been charged since I wasn't satisfied.

MasterCuts bad haircut and bad customer service

On 18 April 2019 I entered the Mastercuts in Opry Mills mall to get a haircut. There was only one employee in the shop at the time. I didnt realize it until after I left but the lady cutting my hair shaved a spot almost bald near the top of my head. I couldn't tell from the angle in the chair but it was obvious once I got back to my room. I was disappointed and decided to go back to get my money back. When I went back, the lady was rude and told me at first that she couldn't give my money back. Then she told me she would call her manager. When I said ok, she said she would only give the the 1-800 number. Then she said she wouldn't do that either and told me I would have to Google it. When I started to Google it, she told me she was going to call security. To be clear, I never once was rude, or loud at all. I was attending a conference and totally embarrassed by the weird bald spot on my head. I would very much like my money back.

MasterCuts rachel-hair stylist at eastgate square, hamilton, ontario-

I brought my daughter in to have a haircut today. I know it was a risk to have any one cut my child's hair without a recommendation. Rachel took us in . Not even 5 minutes in, she lashed out at me because i was watching her cut the hair too closely and she didn't like that. She very rudely gave me a lecture on that in front of my daughter and my daughter's friend. I stepped away and did not say anything as she was already cutting my daughters hair and did not want the kids to be exposed to a very ugly and uncomfortable situation worse that what it was already.
I have never experienced such rudeness. This person should never work with people. What started as such a nice sunday, going shopping with my daughter, having our hair done, ended up in such a horrible experience for all of us.
I am trying to find out if there is an owner i should bring this up, this Rachel should be fired.

While my daughter was having her hair cut, i was having mine also thankfully by Diana, a very friendly, professional hair stylist. She was such a wonderful person. I came in there today hoping to find a permanent hair stylist and i did, in Diana. However, after the way Rachel treated us, with such anger, rudeness and un professionalism, I wouldn't feel comfortable going back to this salon. I would definitely follow Diana if she ever goes on her own.

Unfortunately, I should've asked for 2 separate bills, one for Rachel with no tip and one for Diana. But i didn't think about that and i feel terrible that this Rachel is also getting an undeserved tip . All tip should go to Diana.

I am very upset and disappointed over this incident, and i will never again go to any Mastercuts.

MasterCuts haircut

The total of the hair cut only, was $29.00. I asked them, why there advertisement said $25.00 and she said that was a misprint. I then pointed out that it shows on the poster hanging from the ceiling and also the front counter..and I pointed out to her what is says. She then still insisted that my total was $29.00.

MasterCuts unprofessional service

On March 16, 2019, I had services totaling $247.74 in preparation for a family wedding I attended the following day. Briana is the name of the stylist that provided the services, including relaxer and color. Following summarizes the unprofessional and neglectful actions of the stylist:

1. The stylist arrived to the salon over 20 minutes late for the appointment.

2. The stylist failed to use protective cream on my skin which caused burning, scarring, pain, and scabbing as seen on the attached photo, which was taken 5 days after the relaxer was applied.

3. The heat from the hairdryer was extremely hot, which burned me and I repeated told the stylist about it.

4. The stylist "convinced" me to wear my hair combed forward after I told her I liked to wear my hair back off my forehead. The stylist indicated my preference was old fashioned. I later realized she was covering up her neglect as I did not notice the scarring, due to the dimly lighted salon, until I returned to my car and looked in the mirror, due to the pain I was experiencing.

In adherence to your satisfaction guaranteed policy, please refund the total amount of $247.72.

MasterCuts the stylist during my haircut on 2/16/2019

On 2/16/2019, I had my haircut by Karin, a stylist who works there. I had my hair cut by her, one previous time. She was fine then and appropriate and did a good job on my hair. This time was different. The first thing she said when I was going to sit down at her station was that I had a shapley body. She was really inappropriate. Then she washed my hair and I told her how I wanted my hair cut which she followed. But she was very nervous, kept asking me about her dog and that he was sick and if I KNEW how a dog could be dying? I said no. I was there to relax and get my hair cut. She made me uncomfortable and nervous. Then she was rude and asked me if I was a housewife all of my life? I was appalled! She knows nothing about me. I said NO. I was married once and divorced in 1982. That was a long time ago. I have been a career woman all of my life and I hold a Master's degree with honors. Then she asked me if I was going out with anyone? I said no. I am not interested but focused on school. She kept asking. I felt sexually harassed by her. She was VERY inappropriate. Her mind was not focused on my hair and she brought her problems to work and took her problems out on me. Her sexually related questions made me uncomfortable. She was totally different the first time she cut my hair and kept her focus on my hair. She was very inappropriate this time and should be reprimanded as such. She was sexually inappropriate, demeaning, and nervous about her dog. I have a dog too, and I have had sick animals also. But I don't discuss my problems with clients or people I do not know. I am paying for a service and to relax when I get a hair cut. This experience was ANYTHING but relaxing. She did not get a tip either.

MasterCuts trim

Angel ended up being my stylist because I arrived early. I told her I wanted a trim and I was interested in a leave in conditioner. She started cutting my hair and said she'd only have to take an inch off. She then asked if I wanted layers i said yes but not a lot she proceeded to cut an uneven 2 inch hunk out of my hair in the back and said she was done after only 10 minutes. My hair is very thick so I thought it was strange but she mentioned working at great clips and they had to do cuts in under 15 minutes. She never showed me the back of my hair but just said my hair looked really good. From the front I couldn't really see that anything was majorly wrong. I got home and looked at the back of my hair and it looked like a 5 year old had cut their barbies hair. I called and talk to the assistant manager Shelby about getting it fixed she said I could come in 2 days later to have it fixed. Shelby was very nice about it. I've been going to master cuts for 5 years and I've never had a single issue until now and it made me scared to even go back to have it fixed. I called one of my friends to fix it instead and she had to cut off another 4 inches to fix what angel had done. I told some of my friends about what happened and come to find out she messed up one of my friends cuts about a month ago as well. I'm not normally someone to complain but 2 people in one very small friends group have gotten messed up hair cuts how many others are there? She should not be aloud to work there until she goes back to school because I know people that never went to school that do better work than her.

MasterCuts a particular person who colored my hair

I had my hair colored on Sunday, Dec 16 at 12:30pm. The girl who was assigned to me was very rude and made me feel uncomfortable. She asked about other hair products I use. When I told her I use natural products she had me sign a release form. There is nothing wrong with. I understand company policy. But there was a general attitude. When I asked if she was done with applying the color, she showed me the clock and asked "have you ever had your hair colored before?" She knows I've been to Mastercuts before because we talked about the person I usually use- Lauren-she is very good. I don't know this particular girls name - she is the only African American one here right now. I don't like her she is rude and critical and tries to make me feel stupid about any questions I ask.

MasterCuts Bad haircut

I got my hair cut on November 14, 2018. The lady that cut my hair did such a bad job and did it quick, she claimed she was not busy at all that day and had 30 years experience, you could not tell by my haircut. A day or two later I developed bumps on the back of my head, they kept getting bigger and they hurt. I went to the doctor and he said that it was a bacterial infection and gave me antibiotics. I am now on November 27th with the bumps still there and have spread to my jaw and ear and still hurts. I have never ever had this happen before. I will not be returning to any of your stores.
