Marathon Oil marathon gas station on i-57 just south of champaign

You have a manager there by the name of rajah that is forcing people to work for free. While training, my son was never given a time card or computer number to clock in and out. When I asked him, he said he didn't know when or how he was getting paid. When I confronted Rajah, he said " show me the time card and I will put you on the schedule". He is using young adults new to the workforce and life in general to get free labor. That is sweatshop conditions and YOUR name is on the sign. I realize the store is franchise, but it's still your company, your gas, your name on the logo. My son worked 21 hours and will probably never see a dime. I can imagine he isn't the first and won't be the last unless you put a stop to this "slave like" practice. My name is John Sims and you can teach me at [protected].

Marathon Oil employee assaulting me

This is my third attempt to do this complaint. For some reason it just disappears before I can get through. On tuesday December 18. 2018 at around 6:30 - 7:00 AM I went to the Marathon Station to buy cigarettes. As I was approaching the door a black woman (cashier) said " hold on". I did not know she was talking to me so I proceeded on. She then grabbed me by the arm & calked me a [censored]. I left & went to another store to buy cigarettes. On the way back I stopped at the Marathon again & went in to tell her she was wrong for assaulting me & I intended to make a complaint on her. She came around the counter I grabbed me again & called me [censored]. All of this is on video at the store. I was very upset when I got home which upset my mother so she went there & asked for the owner name & phone #. She refused to give it. My mother went back later & spoke to a man named Malik. He said he is the owner. He refused to discuss it & called the Police & told them he doesn't want either one of us back in store. WHAT! My mother doesn't go in there anyway. I cannot fathom why he would employ someone who assaults customers? And then ban the customs from the store. What kind of employee makes a customer wait while they smoke a cigarette? I have made a complaint with the BBB & intend to contact 6 on your side, a local news station. This needs to be in the news & all over social media on internet. It's a bad reflection on Marathon. Unacceptable busjness practices.I expect an answer about this complaint. Please look at the video from the store & uou will see I did nothing wrong.

Sincerely,
Traci Smith

Marathon Oil oil royalties acct. # [protected] big horn county

My Mother was collecting oil royalty payment quarterly reguraly from Marathon for many years. Her account no. was [protected]. She passed in May 2016. Marathon deposited one more quarterly payment about that time into her account. I then notified Marathon of her death. The account went into suspension. I tried for two year to change the royalties into her children's names. I submitted an affidavit that was filed with Big Horn County to change into her children's names. Then I tried to change into just Brian Madsen's name as my Mother wished. I never did get it straightened out before Marathon sold the oil royalties to Merit Energy June 2016. I have manged to change the royalties into Brian's name at Merit. They paid him the back royalties from June 2016. However, from Marathon's last payment summer 2015 to summer 2016 Marathon transferred nothing to Merit. In addition Marathon has told me repeatedly that there is nothing in the account. I also inquired to Marathon finacial department to find out if the funds were maybe transferred to the State after 3 years. I received no response. They keep e-mailing me the same answer. We have nothing in the account. My question is this. Did the well produce for years and years and suddenly stop in 2015 and then start again magically when Merit purchased in 2016? Since Merit Energy have had the roylties they are producing the same as when Marathon had the royalties and were paying. I have been trying to straighten this out with Marathon for 3 years. I just need to know what happened between last payment 2015 to when they were sold June 2016? It makes no sense that my Mother received payments until her death and then the the well stopped producing at all from 2015 to 2016? Then magically started producing almaost exactly the same when Merit took over?

Thank you

Hi my name is Stephanie, I recently had a problem at marathon on 2ave and 46st where the employee called me a few inappropriate names which isn't business like at all, I do not know how you guys have these employees that does not care about the company policy nor the customers experience. no matter what neighbor hood you're in I don't think it's ok for anyone to get away with this behavior, I constantly go there for gas and car wash and I never had a problem like I did today, the male employee was beginning his shift at 4pm on todays date 10/13/2018 I hope not to have to ever deal with this disrespectful young man again. he also refused to put my gas I had to drive all the way to shell gas station on empty which those people where sweet and attentive

Marathon Oil cashier customer service

This gas station was previously a Shell gas station within the last 3 months it is now owned by Marathon, the cashiers were exceptional at one time (Shell) .I went there today the cashier was outside the store smoking a cigarette having a conversation with persons in a car near the pump she saw me pull up put the cigarette out then went in the store I entered & saw her helping a guest he walks out I get my item & there's no greeting more like I was a interruption to her she rang me up gave me my change & said nothing. I don't usually complain but where is the accountabilty...I won't go back there's a Exxon in walking distance that will get my business. Chantel is her name, I'm sure if it's happened to me it's happened to others maybe even a worse situation.

Marathon Oil sales clerk

On Friday July 6th, approximately 7pm, I purchased a 2 gallon gas can (for about 13$) and pre paid 30$ on pump 1. The total came out to around 43$. I handed the clerk what I thought was 60$. The clerk said out of 60, and did not actually count out the bills, and quickly put the 20$ bills in the drawer. At that very moment, I realized out of the 140$ I had in my wallet, I had only 60$ left. And I asked him before he even started getting my change if that was 80$ and not 60$. And he said no that it was only 60$ because the only 20$ bills I handed him were facing a different way than the rest of the bills below it. Now, I realize that I will never see that 20$ again. But, I figured I'd try to contact Marathon, in hopes there could be camera footage or something Marathon can do to prove that I overpaid and the clerk stole my 20$. Thanks, Jared Sheler

Marathon Oil gas station personnel at marathon in emmett, mi.

Yesterday. About 10:30 am, January 16, 2018 I stopped for gas at the Marathon in Emmett, Michigan. It was freezing cold and I wanted a Hot Chocolate too. But as usual when I have to stop here, I look up to see if I can see who was working at the registrar, as I swiped my debit card. As I waited for about 20 seconds for the pump to be turned on to pump gas. I was irritated because again for the 15th or 20th time in almost 8 years, I was getting some sort of Harassment from the same women over this long long time since 2010. I will not put her name splashed over this, because Being harassed is not fun. I will briefly say why I think its been happening, I prosecuted her brother for raping me at the end of January 2010. He was a customer where I worked, and my daughter and I had some business dealings with him for firewood also. He stalked me and chose me to be his next rape victim. Yes, after the rape I found out he did 8.5 years in prison prior to mine for rape also. This person at the register has harassed me for years because of me prosecuting her brother. Yet she prosecuted him herself for violence against her prior to his violent act on me. Many things have happened since he was put away. This women who works for you has had me followed by a PI years ago, went out of her way to make snide comments to me while at work. She Would make sure if I came in to pay, she would walk over and say to the other person at register " I will take this one" and stand there do the transaction sometimes saying some nasty comment under her breath. I one time got fed up and said No! Jerry was helping me an older gentleman who worked there. I don't want you helping me. She walked away. I told the manager who I believe is still there. Years ago what was going on. She didnt say much back.
I don't go in this Marathon very often, because she still works there. I am a regular in Yale, Mi though, where I live, but dont want an issue from her. Shes hasseled my daughter before too, off and on over the years. But theres a Subway and I will get one. I would always try and not let it bother me but it has. Months back she followed me around the store then when I went to wait in line at Subway. She came up behind me standing in line too. Whether she wanted something or not, it was oppurtunity for her to harass me again, then mumbling something under her breathe. I don't need to take this, I haven't done anything wrong here. My friend came in with me once, saw for herself where I went if the women was working and not near a register then she would conveniently walk near or around me. So yesterday I had enough. When shes convienently not turned on the pump before for me in the past and then yesterday again in the cold intentionally. No one buying at the register then then I see her nasty smirk as i had to wait. Im about to get a lawyer now because its wrong. I trully don't want her job but something needs to be done to rectify this. I am so tired of it. Shes not a nice person. Thanks hope to hear back.Marlene

Marathon Oil issuance of credit cards

My mother is 84. She has had a card in her name for many years. She recently received her renewal card but was unable to renew because the primary card holder was her husband who is now deceased. Talking to customer service got us no where. She was told to apply for a new card on her own. She did this. She was rejected because they could not get a credit report. Her credit report was frozen to protect them from having a card opened in her husbands name. She, with the help of family, contacted the cred it company and got the account unfrozen for 30 days so she could re-apply. She reapplied and was rejected because there was already an application for her in the last 30 days that was rejected. Customer service is saying she cannot apply until 30 days after this last letter. By then the account will be re-frozen by the credit company. Nothing in the first rejection letter noted she could not apply until after 30 days had passed. Now she would have to go the entire process with the credit company again. I do not think a Marathon card is worth this and that the company is very insensitive to an older woman who has paid the bill on time and in full for 3 years since her husband died. Plus she did as they suggested twice to obtain a new card.

Marathon Oil customer service

My name is Angelia Campbell. I went to the marathon gas station on 5/9/17 between 12:30-1:20 pm. I came to buy cigars and the lady who served me is what I know now the manager Alonza Sibert. She gave me a hard time about my ID. Took longer than usual than what I've experienced elsewhere. My actual complaint is her rude customer service. I can understand it's part of the job concerning ID but I am 27 years old and I did not appreciate her ill manner with me. She joked around with a trucker who was inside also but talked to me in a snappy way. I finally had to pull up my sunglasses in which she still continued to look at me in an ill manner and my ID even after quizzing me about my birthday. I went today 5/10/17 to talk to the manager. The cashier took my number in which I received a phone call from the manager 5 min later being rude and hesitant about my complaint. When I drove back to the gas station, turns out the one I wanted to complain about is the manager herself. I like to go to this particular station because it's after hours and it's right by my home. Now I do not want to go. I feel completely disrespected and all the other workers there have never treated me that way.

Marathon Oil customer service

Really weird, wrong-doing of CS at work: 1.2.2017
I drove into the Marathon in Lafayette, IN station on Creasy Lane to refill a drink cup, purchase a snack and get some gas. I parked to get the food first, in the parking area. I was on empty so I needed gas too. I paid for honey roasted peanuts, filled up my cup with Pepsi and ice and bought prepay of $5 of gas on pump 1. I said I'll drive over to the pump. She mumbled something like just fill up when you get there, pump your own, hjgjhlkjfudytdukyf. I said thank you and walked out the door because there were people behind me, so I didn't want to bother her slothful attitude, why she didn't speak clearly and sensibly. I got in my car, sat there while I was a bit taken aback whether she charged me or not for the $5 gas and, was I to be charged at the pump or not so I looked at the receipt. It said I prepaid, so I backed up my car and drove towards the pump but someone was on the pump. I pulled into another space and pressed the HELP key on the keypad on the pump, thinking she could charge that pump my $5. She didn't respond. I didn't ask the driver at pump 1 to stop pumping my gas into his tank. It was too late and he might of thought I was a nutty stranger telling him what he didn't know. I went back inside and said you just gave away my gas to someone else. She said go catch him. He just stole your gas. I said I don't own the station, you should have control of the pumps. and I can't see his license plate and he's driving away anyway, and thinking to myself, what are you talking about! My opinion is that I had $5 in pump #1, she should have frozen it or reserved it since I prepaid inside, she should have not allowed it to be open to anyone else. I told her its your responsibility to keep anyone from using that pump. She said you should have gotten the gas first: I said I got my food first. I said I do not believe this just happened. I shared it with some other familiar residents, even another gas station attendant. I asked if there's a law that I have to sit at a pump to buy gas, food and use the bathroom or anything else there is at a gas station. She said No. I said I'm sure. I said I must look rich, that she had the nerve to allow that man to pump my gas that I paid for. Solve this problem. I want my money back and my respect.

Marathon Oil attendee/policy

Subject: Fwd: Horrific Customer Service @ Marathon Gas 2210 S Holden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407, Phone:[protected] Store who treated me poorly: Marathon Gas Address: 2210 S Holden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407 Phone:[protected] Hours: 7:00 AM – 11:30 PM To whom it may concern: Approximately 10:45pm on 12/24/2015, I approached the Marathon register faced by a representative that I have seen on hundreds of occasions, as I have been a regular customer of this Marathon Gas for more than 2 years. I usually buy 5 - 10 packs of cigarettes at a time. I asked for my cigarette brand "Kamel Red 100" and he reached for them instinctively as he knows they are the only cigarette brand I buy. As I am on disability, and this is the end of the month, so money is running low. I had only $3.01 in cash, and I was going to run the rest of the transaction (approximately $1.64) on my debit card. The attendant rudely stated that he would not be able to run my transaction because there is a $5 minimum on credit cards. I was not running a credit card transaction, I was running a debit transaction, so there should be no reason for him to balk at my payment method, as debit transactions cost a store nothing in transaction fees. I tried again to explain that it should not be a problem to your store to run this transaction, and again he refused. He said, "I work for a boss, and he watches everything I do." Embarrassed, I left. I drove up the block to the Kangaroo Express at 3302 S Holden Road, Greensboro, NC, 27407, at approximately 10:55pm. I was greeted happily by the clerk behind the counter, and I explained that I wished to purchase a pack of "Kamel Red 100" but that I had only $3.01 in cash, and I was going to run the rest of the transaction (approximately $1.64) on my debit card. He said "No worries ma'am, we'll be glad to take care of this for you". He ran my transaction, which was $4.31 (almost $.35 cheaper than the Marathon store). He took my $3.01 in cash first, which we counted out, and then entered that into the cash register. He then smiled and offered the swipe pad for me to run my debit card and enter my PIN. I thanked the kind attendant for his service as he handed me my receipt, and asked him a quick question: Do debit transactions cost your establishment any money to process? To which he quickly answered "No, only credit card transactions charge a fee." I thanked him again and went promptly to my car. My blood was boiling. Not only did Marathon charge more for the cigarettes, but they wouldn't allow a repeat customer who has spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars at their establishment to run a split transaction just one time. I don't do this all the time, and I rarely ask for anything "special" as a customer. But I felt jilted, embarrassed, and thoroughly frustrated. So, I stopped by the Marathon store again, walked in the door, and loudly voiced to the attendant that "1) Debit transactions cost your store nothing, 2) I am a loyal repeat customer and you could at least shown me some courtesy as your $5 rule is only in regards to credit cards, 3) That I got my cigarettes $.35 cheaper at the Kangaroo, which will now be my store of choice (regardless of it's further distance)." He stood there in horror, and many customers left the store. This leaves me to my main point: word of mouth is your #1 advertising option. If you piss off your loyal customers, you will lose business. Your store is not visually pleasing, it is dirty, full of junk jewelry and appliances that don't work (and cannot be returned, even with a receipt [I tried on a phone charger]), and the attendees have no formal training in customer service. I worked in customer service for more than 13 years, and I know there are rules - BUT, rules are meant to be broken for loyal customers, especially when it costs the business NOTHING to make the customer happy. For this I will say to you: you will never get another dollar of my business and every person I know will know of how rudely I was treated, and about the total lack of customer service. I don't know how you people stay in business with crap explanations like "I work for a boss, and he watches everything I do." DON'T WE ALL? Losing a sale to the competition who had a better price and a better disposition is a no-brainer. But your ignorant representative is the reason I was drove to the competition. You might want to teach a course on "What is good for the customer is good for the business". You'll make a hell of a lot more money that way. Thanks for nothing,

Remember way back in high school when your teacher said to pay attention because you will need to know stuff when you get older? You really should have paid attention in spelling, English grammar and punctuation. Really, you should have.

Marathon Oil overcharge

This is the second time that I have been to this gas station and before I could pump fuel, it stated that I already owed $. The first time it was 3 cents and tonight it was 4 cents. THEY ARE SCAMMING the people! It may not seem like a lot of money, but if they do that to every customer, it would really add up as total profit at the end of the day.
