About 6 months ago my husband received a letter in the mail from LBA saying he owed $899 for a magazine subscription. We called the number and they would not provide any information other than he owed the money. He told them he wasn't going to give them anything. Since then he has received countless phone calls (just about everyday) and letters in the mail at least once a month. They amount they are trying to get continues to go down. He called the number again last week and they finally told him that 9 months ago he ordered 5 magazines for 5 years at $75 per month. This is ridiculous!!! They offered to settle with him for $300. Today we get a letter in the mail again. He continues to get a call every day. He never ordered any magazine and certainly not at that price. At the last phone call they threated a law suit and that he could even go to jail if he didn't pay them.

to the comment before me. clearly you know nothing about LBA i used to work there. some people do threaten lawsuits and jail time but you have a lawsuite on them considering they are a third party collection agency and that clearly violates the FDCPA.
You DO NOT have to give them your cc info for the mag companies to get your info. you have no idea how many times i talked to elderly people who clearly were not in the right frame of mind to make these decisions. and half of the time they cant find the recording because there isnt one. To make them leave you alone tell them you refuse to pay when they call and not to call you again. if possible record the convo that way you have evidenve showing that you told them not to call if they continue to, because yet again that is a violation of the FDCPA. LBA is most definatly a fraudulant company. They post date checks so that they can put the check in their account asap. infact they prefer PDC. DO NOT pay these people. they moved to cumming ga because they got the ### sued out of them in il. and now in cumming ga they are being shut down by the IRS. not to mention my bank wouldnt deposit or cash my paycheck because every time i did it bounce. if your such a great company why dont you have money in your accounts to pay your employees. and kevin leubke the owner is a big time christain yet he scams people.

Of course the price goes down, LBA is a settlement agency. And that's absolutely illegal for someone to say you'll go to jail over MAGAZINES. LBA doesn't even report to the credit bureau and they're not even allowed to mention anything about suing.. Because LBA only threatens that with Credit card accounts that owe $25, 000+. You're being so dramatic, no pity part here. It's his fault.. Magazine companies only get CC info if YOU GIVE IT TO THEM!!!
