LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group Erroneous deductions by loanmart to a noncustomer charitable organization

On 11/28/2022 $2,100.00 and 12/27/2022 $1,659.51 LoanMart made deductions to a noncustomer Masonic charitable organization. Our unpaid treasurer on vacation did not discover this till March 2023 and our bank was reluctant to provide a letter that LoanMart requested identifying the error since it was outside their 60 day policy window. The letter by our bank was finally issued on Sept 18, 2023. We have yet to receive a response or refund from LoanMart for errors they created almost a year ago,

Claimed loss: $3,759.51

Desired outcome: Correction of their error by refunding our money.

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group Title loan

I just put a complaint into the consumer protection bureau against loan mart for towing my car in the middle of the night NOT because I owed them money but because they needed a signed physical copy of my signature and I sent them an electronic copy. They have the physical copy of my title and everything thing else they asked for but because I didn't send a physical copy of one paper with my signature they repossessed my car.

I am a widow . My husband was a Navy Veteran who died a year and a half ago from Covid 19. He had no life insurance and I was left with 3 young children and a ton of debt.

I have been in intense grief and I took out a title loan to help feed my kids.

I have been paying on time so the night my car was repossessed I thought it was stolen.

I cried and called the San Antonio police who got back to me and said it was repossessed.

My children couldn't go to school for 2 days and all because of a piece of paper they needed.

I was never told my car would be repossessed without that paper and I literally had a nervous breakdown due to it being taken.

I had to rent a car and pay an additional $517.00 to get it out.. well over $1000 that I don't have.

The lady in repossessions was extremely hostile and cruel. She was talking to me at work and I told her I had dying patients.

She didn't care and kept on berating me over a piece of paper. She had zero respect for me as a human never mind a nurse.

I used my food money to get my car out and I have never been late with a payment.

This is predatory lending with an interest rate of over 40% and I was laughed at by the woman in repossessions.

I was suicidal due to my husband's death and that's why I didn't submit the paperwork sooner but why would they tow my car?

They should feel ashamed but they are not.

Desired outcome: I want them to be stopped for predatory lending, harassment and illegal repossession of my car.

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group Worst predators in the world come from LoanMart

In July 2019, my son was sick and needed some unforeseen medical treatments. The company I own was in a state of negotiating a settlement for overdue project. So I couldn't pull any emergency funds at the time. But I expected it to resolve in a couple weeks and so I bit the bullet and did this stupid loan for $4500. I knew I should have went to the bank and or cashed out some investments instead. Next thing I know 2 months passes and this idiotic simple interest loan for 3x monthly payment I had for the car was due. $1400 and because the vendors never paid us I was sent into personal BK. So, I paid the bill and let the BK lawyers deal with the LoanSharks. During BK they couldn't do anything, and I had them negotiate a settlement. Which LoanShark never responded, of course. At the end of May 2020, Dinora called me to finally settle, but I said wasn't this being discussed with my attorney? They weren't doing anything but making stuff up. The day my son was supposed to do his drive by graduation during Covid the took my car and got $4K out of me to get it back. The car was fully decorated for the event and all. Unbelievable. The hack of a towing company and driving 30 miles to get it back was infuriating. In the end I paid $1500 in interest/fees on what should have been a one month temporary situation. Whatever you do eat crow ask friends/family Jesus whoever for help, but lose the LoanSharks name number and any thoughts of doing business with a predatory loan firm. You will just end up in worse shape.

Desired outcome: shut down LoanMart

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group I’d like to stop the company from charging people ridiculous interest rates!!!

I took out a title loan on my 2013 vehicle last year and since that time I’ve had some financial hardships. The interest rates and ridiculous and the accumulate daily,

And the company is not willing to assist their customers who are in financial distress. If the amount due is not paid within 30 days, they threaten repossession. Class suits absolutely need to be filed and I would love to participate in it.

Desired outcome: And worn with people who are experienced real life financial distress.

I have been paying on a loan since 2019 and have paid them over three times what my car is even worth. I need help getting this figured out. I should not have to keep paying them these ridiculous monthly payments with no end in site. If I am a day late on payment they harass me several times a day. Something has to be done about this company. I should not have to pay over $12000 dollars on a $2000 dollar loan. my payment is over $350 dollars every month and I have been paying for three years now. I want my title back and for this company to be shut down.

Desired outcome: I want to be done with my loan and get my car title back. I have paid them more than enough money.

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group $3,500 loan from loanmart.

I got a loan for $3,500 from LoanMart in August I believe, to help with a move. To date, I have been unable to make a payment to date due to unexpected hospitalization and the costs incurred. I am currently homeless, temporarily living in a motel, which is being paid for by a relative. On top of my problems, LoanMart repossessed my car overnight in the motel parking lot, which was filled with my personal items, including my medication. I was not notified in any way about this possibility. Today I called LoanMart who advised that I owed $769.00 (of which $500.00 was a charge for towing). I get my social security check on the 3rd of October and can make a payment, only a few days from now, but they wouldn't help me with getting my car back. I live in central Florida where we are currently in the middle of a hurricane and I cannot move to a shelter because I don't have a way to get to one, nor can I go to the grocery store and get food for myself and my dog. I just don't know what to do. I am helpless and homeless.

Desired outcome: To get my car back ASAP so I can buy groceries and go to a shelter.

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group Lying, stealing, cheating

Borrowed 2000 12 months ago.

Paid on time for months.

Was told that I could restructure to lower payments and even get 600 extra dollars. Brings total borrowed to 2600.

Balance is currently going up higher than what was borrowed.

I've been getting behind on payments because I was lied to about payments being lower.

They won't let me make a promise to pay past end of month, due date is the 16th. If I need 3 weeks they make me make a promise to pay at end of month then fail to meet promise and then make a new one for when I can actually pay. They do this to make it look like you are unreliable when making promise.

36 days past due, I've talked to them many times explaining I need longer to pay. They say on phone that I would be alright and they won't repo before the end of current month, which would be like 44 days past due. The same day I was told I could pay at end of month, they come repo the car.

After making 2600 in payments around 7 months into this fiasco I tried to settle with them. At the time they said I'd have to pay 2700 which was 100 more than I borrowed.

This works out to almost 200% APR. The contract that I was emailed after the fact had WAY more information than the one presented to me online while filling out the forms to get the loan.

Desired outcome: I've paid more than my fair share to this company. I want my balance wiped and my car delivered back to my residence

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group LoanMart will not take fault in mistakes

I opened an account with LoanMart in 2017 with a 2005 Nissan Xterra approx $1800. I ran into financial hardship with unexpected circumstances. I fell behind in payments and received an email from Ally. Stated I needed to schedule full payment for 6/30/17. I explained that I couldn't afford full payment at that moment. It was said that If $215.47 was paid it would lift everything from my account. I scheduled it by email with her. Bank account kept rejecting payment. I called in and spoke to Lester on 7/3/17 when payment was not pulled from the account. explained the situation. They had me esign a paper saying that my payment of $215.47 will be due on 7/14/21 and esigned a paper moving the other month to end of my loan. This gave time for me to get my new debit card and make the secured payment in my name as requested instead of routing and acct. num. Received email on 7/7/17 from Bryan saying my payment didn't go through and I voided everything. I was under impression from LoanMart rep from 7/3/17 documents and conversation I had handled situation and payment of $215.47 was due 7/14/21 and remaining payment was moved to end of loan extending loan+interest. I had to put the money on a relatives card for short notice of contract being voided and the secured payment requested. Rep told me the policy was I had to pay with a debit card on the portal if not in my name but it was still secured. Secured payment on 7/10/17. 7/11/17 car was repoed. Called 7/11 - Rep admitted to wrongly repoe. Rep requested $600 that day, it could not be waived even if the company is wrong. Explained I could not pay $600 right there after making a secured payment of $215.47 the night before. No budge or negotiation for their mistake. I finally gave up. I have only requested them to take it off my credit as it was their wrongful doing. -$12k on my credit for their mistake. That is 6 times the original loan amount. LoanMart is their own creditor. I called the number on the credit report and it is not in service. I called in and requested to talk to someone. I was transferred to Jose and he sent an email 5/1/18 requesting me to call him to get the car back. A year later I replied right away with the current phone number to call. He calls and harrasses me about paying. I explained the situation and he kept repeating I owe them, 2/3/2022 Today I requested to be transferred right away. Transferred to Ruben. Ruben reads every note and email to me showing communication no avoidance and different rep notes. He tells me I am a scenario they see often and if I want him to listen to calls from 2017 he can but based off what he is reading hes going to assume I am in the wrong and misconstruing it. I inform him I want someone to review my account and all calls and even requested when I should call back if I do not hear back. He tells me he's going to listen right then and return the call. He calls me less than 30 minutes later saying he cant find anything from the dates, after reading all notes and emails out loud to me. and if I can provide the phone number and if not then im at a loss but i can pay them 2k instead of 3k to remove from credit. I have requested this be taken off my credit report and this has now become an issue with harassment and ruining my credit on the wrongful doing of a company and charging over 600% more than loan amount. This company will lie and say you are covered and then have a new rep contact you saying different things and contradicting arrangements made. They talk down to the customer and will not negotiate.

Desired outcome: REMOVED COMPLETLY OFF CREDIT

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group Scam/ripoff

I took out a title loan with LoanMart in summer 2019. I was involved in a domestic abuse marriage and needed funds. I took out the loan with all intent to pay it back. I have been paying monthly on an original loan amount of $11, 127. I have paid over $16, 000 dollars back and currently going through a terrible divorce and cannot afford to pay this loan anymore. I have contacted them and they are not willing to help me. They technicall yown this vehicle and I am surrending it. They said it's not in good condition; therefore, they won't take it back to sell. Instead they want me to pay the balance of over $12, 000 left on my loan. This is a terrible scam and I regret taking out money with them. The finance/interest charge is more than the amount I borrowed. I have asked for help and they are not working with me. Please help me in this matter as I have this car I can do nothing with and cannot afford. They have to be able to get the car and work out payments for me. Thank you.

Desired outcome: LoanMart to work with me - I am being scammed

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group unethical behavior, harassment on the phone, getting into my credit report

On 12/27/2018 I had got a loan from loanmart for 2500 I only wanted 1000. I found out they charging me 154.74 % rate, 9, 360.36 finance fee . I made my first payment of 300.00. After talking to a lawyer and telling them that isn't illegal in Ca . I did get them to drop it down to 19.0% rate and I gave them my debit card number and both in agreement to make a payment of 118.00 the next day they impounded my car. I payed 689.00 to get it out. I received a call again telling me that i owe 300.00 for the next month. they raised my rate again. . I have been going though this with them getting into my business deals since they contact everyone that inquires on my credit report. Calling me daily from different numbers. I talked to so many people that call and have no idea that someone else called me already.
This is what they do to people. Bully them . My car is no longer running i told them the truth about the transmission going out and they can go get the car. They don't want it. even though they could sell it They wont get it.
This is what they do to people.

This is the practices from an Ex Employee

I used to work for 1 800 loXn Mart, and its true. I was a collections agent for 1 year. I was instructed on numerous occasions to break the rules for the company. We did countless illegal practices and were trained by our Managers. We had limitless resources that helped us get personal information from the DMV, Phone companies, DWP, and employers. We had a phone system that would allow us to hack into your cell phone and access your voice mails. We had a phone scrambler that would allow us to call you with any Caller Id we chose, including your mothers phone.

We had access to your social security number so we would be able to call your mortgage and phone companies and have them give us confidential information. One of the requirements to get the loXn is provide your last phone bill. We called all the numbers you would call most often and harass them too.

If you were not late on your payment, you still got ripped off because the lowest interest rate they gave was 74% not 7.4 74, after they convinced you the loXn would only cost you ten dollars a month. People who had trouble paying their loaXs on time were urged to take out a new debt or change the due date. This was a trap to get them a new balance. Every loXn costed $875 regardless if you paid it the same day. That fee was reinstated to their debt for doing a re debt.

Please every one read your contracts. Do not let the debt officers tell you their pitch, remember benefit from you signing the loXn

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group wrongful repossession

Hello,

My name is Wendy Alvarado. I took a loan from LoanMart due to having to help my I'll father with medical bills. I've been paying the loan off but I've been behind most recently. I've negotiated with them and I've been trying to work with them in terms of payment options. I received a written extension and even have email proof corresponding from an agent stating that I have the extension and what is owed on 11/15/2019. As of last night at 12:30am my car was repossessed without any opportunity to try to save my car. I've been dealing with months of harassment from them and now this. I want to know my rights and if I have a case against them. I look forward to your response. My contact information is provided below.

Warm Regards,
Wendy Alvarado

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group title loan for 2500 and I still owe this much a year later.

I have been paying loan mart every month and I am so called current after paying them for a year. What's insane is that I have tried to settle and they tell me after paying over 3000 that I would need to pay atleast an additional 2500. Which is the total price of the loan. I am a disable vet and a single father of a 3 year old. I'm on a fixed income and took out the loan because of an emergency. However. They threaten to repossess my car after being 2 weeks late. Also they ask me the reason I am late and I tell them my issues and they don't try to work anything out. I'm stressed and this situation isn't getting any better. I'm current but I'm being charged $9/day if I'm late but am told that I have a 10 grace period. It's not a grace period and different people tell me different things when I call. I have been trying to see if I can find a pro bono lawyer to help. But I can't find one and the vet services told me that I should try taking out another loan to help. I can't ! Can anyone help me out ? Any advise? I can't keep paying $315 a month for years to come. I have already paid the loan with over $400 interest which seems to go up every month ! If you can give blood, sell your soul, do anything but get a loan through them. You gotta pay it off literally within two weeks in order to stay Away from this dark hole.

I was also told my interest rate would be at 7% but apparently it’s over 140% plus late fees! . This should be illegal. It’s not feasible. It’s predatory. This company should be shut down like the other payday loan companies. They shouldn’t exist because I understand people are desperate and I understand high interest. This is over 100%%%

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group marketing

Received a pre-qualification letter from 1 800 Loanmart; filled out a preliminary application but the company would not reveal my monthly payment amount until it had run my credit (hard credit pull) which affects my credit score. They had listed a monthly amount of $194.22 on their site after I had entered my vehicle information but the representative said that was not the correct figure - only used to entice people to apply (and unduly affect one's credit)
I have not moved forward with this company, and after seeing all of the negative reviews online, am glad I did not.

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group title loan will never be paid off

I took a title loan with this company back in February of 2017. I was told as long as I made my monthly payment, I would be paid off in 2 years, February 2019 when the loan matured, and that I would be required to pay any late fees or accrued interest for a late payment. When I called for that amount today I was told I still owed $2300 and some change. I did as instructed and was late for a total of $600 in late fees. I would agree to pay that to get my car title back, but am told in February I have to pay the matured loan amount of $1500.00 PLUS the late fees - that was not explained to me and I have done what I was supposed to do. I cannot have the car repossessed so I will have to keep paying on this loan forever - how can I get this settled and get my car title back. The girl I spoke with said pay $5.00 more per month, and I figured that would take me 36 years and make my payment $215.10 - can you help?

I SUED 1800LOANMART FOR FCRA VIOLATIONS

I would like EVERYONE who has ever had a car title loan from 1800LoanMart aka Wheels Financial, Inc. to file a small claims lawsuit against them. The small claims form is easy to fill out and you can give a fee waiver even if your not low income read the fee waiver to see if you qualify.
Please look at your credit reports to see if the balance is correct, the dates or correct and if it is a charged off account the balance should show $0. Yes, $0 if any of these are incorrect they are a violation of FCRA and they can be sued.
In my case 1800LoanMart kept changing the balance owed on my credit report from $3, 900 to $5.832 to &, 808 to $10, 000 owed.
They also ran my credit without my permission. I only gave them permission when I first applied for the loan running my credit 3 yrs after is definitely a FCRA violation.
This company did me the same as they did you all. When my loan came to maturity they said I owed them they same amount as the original loan amount.
They refused to send me a payment history so I sent a Demand Letter requesting the entire loan file when they completely ignored.
I'm not giving legal advice but a very good option is small claims court or at least if we all tie them up in court with court fees they may change their way of doing business.

I took out a loan from this company in 2013. Still paying high interest on a loan of $2500 which now loan mart said the pay off is almost 10, 000. My monthly payment started at $220 well now its $585 a month. Even though I can't pay but I tried my best each to make that payment just so that my car don't get repo. I request if it can lower my because I don't think I can afford it due to my health issue and waiting on disability approval. Loa mart already said No. They said I have bad credit that's why my payment is higher. Please HELP..ANY IDEA OF HOW TO

Take them to Small Claims. Do you authorize a payment increase? They can't change loan terms w/o your permission that's a violation of TILA and RESPA laws. Did you sign new documents to increase your monthly payments if not they are definitely in violations.

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group title loans/beware!

Whatever you do, read up on this company before you borrow - no matter how desperate you may be for the money, you'll be grateful for never taking this disgusting, greedy, POS company's money. They are the rudest, most incompetent and uncaring ‘business' that I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. They lie about interest rates even when you show them proof of your contract. They will never ever work with you if you can't make payments, they literally will tell you and I quote "it's not their problem". They threaten you if you don't share your cars location with them. The list goes on and on. I cannot wait until somebody takes the devils to court and makes them pay for the stress and heartache that they've caused hundreds (based on bad reviews on various sites). Stay as far away from these frauds as you can!

LoanMart / Wheels Financial Group titleloan

I got a $2500 title loan with them 5 years ago, the payments became too much and I released the car to them. The amount was $1500 owed which they wrote off. Subsequently, they sent me $650 account settlement offer which i rejected. After they charged it off, they kept adding interest now 4 years later, they are charging my a late payment every month and my balance is $9500. They ding my credit every week which i feel is extorting me to get me to accept their settlement offer.
