LivingSocial never again!

Booked a vacation through LivingSocial website. When I arrived to New York I called a taxi to take me to my hotel and the driver told that he never heard anything about it. We went to three different hotels and still no one knew it. I waited in the lobby of the last hotel and then the hotel manager told that the hotel I was searching for was located in Boston! So I basically was out of money, alone, with no place to stay! Tried to contact their customer service many times, but they completely ignored me. Never again!

LivingSocial matt danny - customer service

Livingsocial has the special with "Matt Danny" in Arcadia, CA. I purchased two vouchers and paid $17. When I went to Matt Danny to redeem the voucher, the owner insult me with "If you can not read, do not buy the voucher". So I went home without redeem the voucher. I called Livingsocial to get the refund, the customer service only refund $7. I will never deal with livingsocial or Matt Danny again.

LivingSocial moving service

I purchased a certificate for full service moving. Immediately after purchasing I went to look at my voucher so I could contact the moving company. It was showing up as expired and I literally JUST bought it. It has purchase date as 11/22/2015 and the voucher expired on 11/12/2015. What the hell. I then immediately went to find the button ask for a refund and there is NO button for it. I am so mad right now. Livingsocial also does not operate on the weekends so there is no one to speak with. $349 I am out until this gets refunded.

LivingSocial poor merchant support

I am a merchant and ran a promotion through Living Social. They were very attentive until I got my deal listed, then they were very un-attentive. They listed my deal in only one category, although it was appropriate for three. I sent an email to my Production Coordinator asking for it to be added to the other two categories. She sent me a pre-written response that did not answer my questions. I sent another email and left a voice mail, neither of which were answered. I sent a complaint through Living Social's Merchant Center, asking for the issue to be escalated to a supervisor, and got no response. In frustration I emailed my Production Coordinator telling her I would never list a promotion through Living Social again. I finally received an email from a Senior Merchant Services Representative asking how he could help me (spending more of my time, rather than taking his own time to review the emails). So I forwarded all of the emails and specifically said I would prefer to resolve it by by phone than email, and gave him my phone number to call me. His response was "Are you wanting to alter your current promotion? You can reach me by replying to this email directly as you have or call me at [protected]", very clearly not understanding, not listening, and not caring. I will never list an offer with Living Social again.

LivingSocial playstation refund!!!

I purchased a PlayStation 4 using the living social website as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. It arrived damaged and poorly packaged with the UK plug taped to the outside of the box. I complained to customer services 13 days ago and in the meantime have called numerous times to find out the situation. They assured me I would receive an email with the return details 7 working days after my first complaint. I did not receive an email and have continued to call and complain. I have been told they are trying to obtain the merchants return details. They now have 48 hours to send me the details however I have no hope as they are full of false promises. I have proceeded to enquire with citizens advice. This company should not be trading if they cannot stick to their promises.

LivingSocial paying for services which won't be rendered

LivingSocial is a scam. Paid $ 39, - for a "Garage door tune-up worth $ 149, -" (voucher said "adjusting and balancing" garage door). Technician who would not even identify himself showed up without any other tools than a spray can and left without adjusting the door which is out of alignment. The company named on the voucher does not exist. LivingSocial's comment: "The service was rendered". No refund. Basically you prepay for services which later are not rendered. This is close to fraud.

LivingSocial wont honor promotion

Promote that if you have 3 friends buy the deal, yours will be free. Bought my deal and my sister bought a deal and set up accounts for her 2 sons to buy the deal.
Received email that my deal was free. Then - NOTHING. Called. They said sorry but no. we will instead give you a $10 deal bucks. Not what the deal was - it was supposed to be one free deal - worth $44.
Actually told me I should have had some random person purchase the deals for the kids. What?
Will NEVER USE THE SITE AGAIN.

LivingSocial venue not suitable

Purchased two tickets for an Opera -- June 23rd 2013, The tempature was 88 degrees and we walked the hillside to get to the location to find the it was not airconditioned. We left. I in my late 60's with a heat condition was told by living socail that in Arizona that would not be so hot... and after consultation with his uppers was offered 10 deal buks for a &38 dollar venue--- i really felt disrespected and told him so -- he said take it or leave it

I ordered a set of sheets for $35. No sheets but yet a charge on my credit card. Do not trust the vendors on this site! It is hit or miss with the products they offer. Not worth the risk only causes headaches.

I purchased two certificates for massages through Living Social. The masseur was unable to honor them due to high demand and recommended that I request a refund. I did and I received a stock "Thank you for your enquiry..." response. That was 6 weeks ago and I have heard nothing since.

LivingSocial coupon - won't refund service not provided

A Christmas present for 2 Hot Air balloon rides were purchased - this company is siting their pilot was hurt and now cannot provide the service the coupon was purchased for, Sara said they don't know when they will be able to offer this - but the coupon can be used next year if and when they start flying again. I had two leave several messages in trying to book this event and finally when I called back to back days to get them, this is the story I was told. Sara said I could contact livingsocial.com and they said a refund would be given if I did not want to try and wait. I contacted livingsocial.com but they said they will not give a refund. How can a company sell a service and then not refund your money if a service cannot be provided, that is very bad business practice. I am in an industry with hundreds of people I deal with on a monthly basis, I will ensure that everyone I speak to knows livingsocial is not handling business like a company should, and they should be ashamed. My next complaint will be the BBB. DO NOT PAY FOR COUPONS FOR A SERVICE YOU ARE GETTING LATER, JUST NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE. CHECK OUT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS YOU SIGN TOO - BEWARE!

LivingSocial bait and switch, no refund

I bought a voucher from Living Social for a chimnney cleaning. They came out and told me that since I live in a 2-story house it would be an extra $189. I told them no way, and I was going to seek a refund. I contacted Living Social and they contacted the cleaning company (Delanco Air) and said they would honor the coupon., I tried calling and e-mailing them for weeks to no avail and decided to seek a refund because I didn't want to deal with a company that didn't care about is customers. Living Social said my refund was outside of their 'refund policy' and refused to help me. I will NEVER use Dalanco Air or Living Social again.

LivingSocial misleading offer - no refund

I purchased 3 vouchers for the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel in Coconut Grove. The wording of the offer was misleading. Living Social charged my credit card for $592.20 instead of the $376.20 I was expecting.
I immediately contacted Living Social and was told they don't give refunds on some offers... and this was one of them.
So their mode of operation is to put out misleading offers and refuse a refund... even minutes after the transaction.
This is what is called a con.
My suggestion to everyone is... Beware of Living Social!

LivingSocial dont buy a voucher there - save yourself losing your money

I used to be such a fan of this company. After joining about 2 years ago, I would just buy, buy, buy it must have been a couple hundred of vouchers over the past two years. I loved it - I was getting such a good deal on each item and back then when the merchant went out of business or didn't honor the deal, LivingSocial customer service was wonderful about helping to resolve or refunding the voucher. However, over the last 6 months (was it a change of management?) they have gone from a nice company to the WORST place you can buy a voucher from. Their customer service stinks - they use not common sense, they belittle and undermine you. They don't care about if you get screwed by the merchants or not - or if they voucher was totally fraudulent or not. Their attitude now is ALWAYS - touch luck. You lost your money, pal! They refuse to help. They TRULY SUCK! I have had several vouchers over the past six months that I lost my money to them on due to the merchants not honoring them, misrepresenting what was offered, going out of business or just not having what was purchased by the voucher. Every instance LivingSocial basically said "screw you"! After being with them so long and being such a loyal customer, you must know how horrified I felt. I have canceled all my subscriptions and no longer buy vouchers from them. Groupon is my savior - they are a _lot_ better.

I totally agree with your assessment of them, as I'm sure many readers of your post do. Your anger is justified, but, when you
go ballistic and use language of the kind used in your post, you sound nearly as bad as them.

LivingSocial total scam!

Living Social is a total scam! We bought a room at the Denver Sheraton, advertised on Living Social for $119/night. We made the reservation, told them it was a living social deal, and were told everything was good to go. We paid attention to all the restrictions and black out dates, and literally planned our trip to Denver around the dates we could use this room. With 3 kids in tow, we arrived, had a great time and checked out. Just for fun, we checked our credit card the next day and realized we had been charged for the room AGAIN! Not only that, we were charged $272, the full price of the room! The hotel manager said we would have to contact Living Social, and Living Social said they would look into it. That was over a month ago! And the kicker is, the Sheraton was running a deal for $55 through Denver Tourism, so we actually paid $119+$272=$391 for a room we could've gotten for $55! Living Social is out to make a buck, not offer refunds for selling you erroneous deals.

LivingSocial no call back to make an appointment

I am very unhappy with living social. My husband bought a 90 minute massage for the both of us as a well to distress. After losing a child in 11/2011 I have not been myself and he got the living social deal as a one year distress gift. He got the deal in September 2012 and tried calling Light Spectrum Therapeutics in October 2012, but he got no reply. This continued for two more months with the company not returning our calls. He has since left to study abroad for the spring semester so I tried calling but to no avail. I decided to contact living social to get a resolution and they took 72 hours to call the company and tell me everything is fine and I just need to call again. Well I tried again and NO reply. What a waste of my time and money. Don’t use living social if you don’t know the company selling the coupon because they will do nothing to help you.

Purchased a voucher for merchandise at a local store based on the information given re the store by LivingSocial. Visited the store, not anything like advertised, nothing worth using voucher for. Contacted LivingSocial, which basically said too bad, so they do not stand behind their information or their merchants. Will not use again.

I ordered to vouchers and redeemed them with the merchant within the required time. Four months later not items were delivered. Each month I contacted LivingSocial and the merchant and each time they both fobbed me off. Four months in LivingSocial have sent an email saying I didn't redeem in time and tough.

Am now taking out a county court summons against them.

Bought a car wax and wash package and the vendor made and appointment and never showed up. Then i called 10 times and no one ever got back to me. When I called living social all they did was give me a credit which I didn't feel was acceptable given the time I had wasted and the fact that Ive used them for other things and never got a refund on anything else. Not happy. Will not use them again.

I have had terrible trouble with their vendors. ('course I USED TO buy a lot of LivingSocial vouchers!) It happened before, but I let it go. This last time, the cleaning service hasn't called me back to schedule my appointment, the voucher's about to expire, and LS said I can't get my money back or a credit! Because I didn't ask for a refund within 7 days of buying the voucher. Um... that's called STEALING.

Terrible company with poor customer service skills. I purchased something, they made a mistake and did not apply my $10 credit. I called and they told me that I could get part of my money back after I received the item and mailed it back to them, but I would still have to pay $8 as a return fee. Needles to say, I have to pay for their mistake.

Please do not buy from this company. My friends, family and co-workers no longer will.

I have purchased several vouchers through this company. But they have used my card fraudulently in March 2012 and done a charge of $59 without my authorization. There is no deal purchased and they refuse to refund my card. They said they will credit my account back but never did.

I have contacted AMEX and filed a complaint and also 7 on your side. This company is a fraud.

Awful site. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this site. I order a "deal" they took my money, and when i went to use the "voucher code" no dice. Nothing. So I contact living social thinking, I'm sure it's a simply error that can be corrected. Nope. Nothing. I got a nice canned email saying, "we'll get back to you on that." A complete and utter waste of time money and effort.

Bought two deals. One, the business refused to honor because Living Social promised double what the business was willing to give. The second "deal" was a discounted item. Went to the website and the company didn't even list this item as an available product, nor did I ever receive any kind of confirmation or response from them. Like yelp deals before it, never again!

Really the worst experience ever! For a recently living social adventure they sold more vouchers then there was space, so when I tried to book with the hotel, there was no more "living social" rooms. It's as if you had a store that had 10 items to sell and living social sold 15 vouchers. When asked for a refund, living social refused. Stay away from this terrible company - I'm canceling my alerts and telling all my friends.

LivingSocial no response from the vendor despite multiple attempts

I bought a voucher, tried to redeem it, no response from the vendor despite multiple attempts and LivingSocial refuse to refund me despite not being able to point out in their T's & C's why they don't have to. Their "Customer Service Director" (Arti Morarji, apparently) doesn't even have a phone number or email address. Laughable. Don't use them.

Bought multiple vouchers thinking it is legit, lost about 100$ as most of the busineses donot exist and the remaining have poor quality in terms of services or goods. If you want a refund for a unused voucher, just forget about it and donot waste your time. I have tried other daily deal websites, some even smaller than Living social, but this is the absolute worst esp in terms of customer service, return and the legitimacy of deals advertised. For example I tried to redeem a 59$ voucher for car detail and found out the business was closed. I sent pictures of it the customer service but still did not get a refund, inspite of providing evidence that the business does not exist.

LivingSocial my wife promised to never buy anything else from living social

Terrible customer service. My wife paid for a weekend at a bed and breakfast through Living social. When she contacted the B&B to make reservations, the owner said they were completely booked up through the dates in the original offer but they would honor the deal for a period almost a year from now (but won't book anything till then). My wife then tried to get a refund or credit from Living Social because the B&B was unable to complete the original contract. No help from Living Social and we are probably out the money at this point.

My wife promised to never buy anything else from Living Social and I promised to post our story to as many websites as I can find in the hopes that it will keep other people from making the mistake we did of doing business this this scam of a company.

LivingSocial vouchers not accepted

I purchased 6 vouchers for Kazoo Lala at the dallas City Performance Hall on dec. 14th. When we arrived, we were told that Living social had oversold the event and they did not have our tickets. There was no manager and all the will call people kept telling us was it was not their fault. They took our name and said they would give it to Living Social. A week later, I still have not gotten my refundof $144.00 despite 3 phone calls and 4 emails, none of which have been returned by Living Social.
I contacte the City of dalla and they at least responded and eplained that they were simply renting the venu to the merchant who was Cirque Dallas, but they asked for a few days to see if they could help and would get back to me. Do not buy from Living Social!

Sorry to hear about your living social mishap. But you should be thankful you didn't have to sit and endure the worse theatre arts performance ever. The "cirque" aspect of the show was the lamest thing I've ever seen. People left before the show ended, during the intermission and even the first 10 min of the show. No storyline, cirque was amateurish. So I hope you get your money back, but for the show you seriously didn't miss anything.

LivingSocial livingsocial is now promoting a duct cleaning scam in chicago

LivingSocial is now promoting a duct cleaning scam in Chicago, IL. I bought a voucher through LivingSocial for "Cleaning of all air ducts, HVAC inspection, and dryer vent cleaning" for $69 on August 21, 2012. Today is November 14, 2012. Three canceled appointments later, they still haven't showed to perform the service. Twice, I was stood up, waiting at home for them to show up. The third time, I called the day before to confirm. Sure enough, they called me back, needing to reschedule. This is a scam. LivingSocial doesn't take responsibility for it, either. Had to hold for 25 minutes just to talk to a live person. My solution: I brought the scam to the attention of my bank, and they are going to reverse the charges. I hope Fresh Air Duct Services and LivingSocial go out of business--the sooner the better for consumers.

Absolutely! Stay away from Living Social deals. They will do nothing about problems. Groupons handle issues so much better with a much better customer service. You will never get a real live person at Living Social. I wll never use them again. Rhonda Lail, Tennessee

LivingSocial In-depth Review

In summary, LivingSocial is a marketplace for people to buy and share things to do in their city. It offers a variety of deals, from local services to travel packages. It's a good place for finding discounts and trying new experiences.

Overview of LivingSocial

LivingSocial is a website where you can find deals for activities, travel, products, and services. It's like a hub for discounts and special offers that can help you explore your city or places you visit.

The website is user-friendly. It is easy to find different categories of deals. Search function works well, and you can filter deals by location or type.

Variety of Deals and Offers

There is a wide range of deals. You can find offers for restaurants, spas, events, and more. They also have travel deals which are very interesting.

Pricing and Value for Money

Prices are usually lower than the original value. It is good for saving money, especially if you like trying new things often.

Quality of Products/Services Offered

Quality can vary because LivingSocial works with many different vendors. It's important to read reviews before buying.

Customer Service Experience

Customer service is okay. Sometimes it takes time to get a response, but they usually help solve problems.

Redemption Process

Redeeming deals is mostly straightforward. You get a voucher to use at the business or a code for online deals.

Refund/Return Policy

They have a refund policy, but it has some conditions. It's better to check the policy before you buy.

User Reviews and Community Trust

There are user reviews on the website. They help to understand what other people think about the deals.

They accept different payment methods, and the website is secure for transactions.

Loyalty Programs and Incentives

They have some loyalty incentives like referring friends for credits. It's nice if you use LivingSocial often.

Comparison with Competitors

LivingSocial is similar to other deal sites like Groupon. Sometimes they have unique deals that you can't find elsewhere.

Social Media Presence and Engagement

They are active on social media. They post deals and respond to customers.

Environmental and Social Responsibility

There is not much information about their environmental efforts. But they do offer some deals that are eco-friendly or for social causes.

Final Verdict and Recommendations

If you like finding deals and trying new things, LivingSocial can be very useful. It's worth checking their offers and comparing with other sites. Just remember to read reviews and check the refund policy.
