To whom it may concern:

On 8/24/16 approximately at 2:20 pm Mr. Lindell came to my house to service my German Grandfather Clock. The service turned to a damage clock. My husband attended him and was present at all times. He started dismantling the clock piece by piece to lubricate the clock. As he was doing this he lost 2 pieces of my clock. My husband tried to help him at the same time my husband said Mr. Lindell was aggravated, because his service appointment was taken longer than usual. These pieces were lost or broken and he decided to put some other pieces on my clock. His frustration billed up. He put a total different arm handle on my clock. My husband express concern. Mr. Lindell replied that your wife wouldn't notice the difference. My husband said oh yes she will. Even though my husband was displeased with the service he gave him a check for his service of $195.00.
I came from work and saw my clock and immediately notice the arm handle of the clock. I ask my husband. He explained the situation to me. Immediately I called [protected] the telephone number on the service receipt. I had to leave 2 voice messages letting him know about my feeling of his service. Told him I was going to stop payment on the check. Explained to him his service on my clock was unacceptable. My clock was damage and I wanted him to call me immediately. After my voice message to him I called my bank and stop payment on the check. The next day I received a call back (Friday 8/23) and it was a lady. I explained my frustration to her and again I mentioned about the stop payment of the check. She told that Mr. Lindell was coming back to my house to fix my clock between 6-9 pm. I told her it was fine and I will wait for him to come. Mr. Lindell showed up and told us he was going to take my clock to be repair at his shop and he will bring it back the following week. I hesitate and didn't like the idea, but I thought it would be fair to give Mr. Lindell an opportunity to do things right. We told him (My husband & me) again the check had a stop payment. We were charged $31 for a stop payment fee and we would pay him $164 in cash. We expressed to him our reasons for stopping the payment. We told him he can take our clock and call us as soon he fixes the damage he did.
Then on 8/27/16 at 7:12 Mr. Lindell call my cell number from this number [protected] and I picked up the call. He told me to write down his mailing address, because I wasn't going to have my clock back until I pay him $230. This is $195 plus the stop payment fee of $35. I asked him why did he deposit my check since he was advised on several occasions. He continues to tell me to write down his address. I told him if he doesn't deliver my clock as he promised I was going to seek help. He refused and told me he was going to win.
We have picture of before and after and we believe somebody will help us solve this situation ASAP. It's only fair to get my grandfather clock back in the same mint condition he saw it. Mr. Lindell actions are unprofessional and I am very concern the way he handled this situation. Nobody has the right to damage your property and get away with it.

I want my clock to be returned to me repaired. If the clock doesn't have no damages and if its properly working I will pay $164 for his services and take off $31 for the stop payment. If for any reason my clock is not returned or repaired, then Mr. Lindell would need to pay the value of the clock.
Hoping to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Diane Hernandez

The Philadelphia Law Firm, Kohn, Swift & Graf, P.C. has had a very disturbing and unfortunate experience of working with Lindell’s Grandfather Clocks. On June 18, 2018, a service tech came to our office for a service call and to estimate the repair cost of the grandfather clock. The service tech removed the face of our grandfather clock, along with other parts, and took it with him. We had not agreed to have Lindell do the repairs and were seeking other estimates. We called Lindell and requested that they return the parts. Initially, the service tech promised to return them the next day but did not show up. We called again and gave him a new date to return the clock face. He never showed up and now the company does not take our phone calls, even when we threaten to call the police. We have now reported the theft to the Philadelphia Police Department and PA Attorney General.
