Lincoln Technical Institute HVAC program at Lincoln tech

I did 4 months of school in New Jersey and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my life so I chose HVAC as it pays well and I was only going to do 1 year of school. I was promised many things from the school. Things that did not come true. The first month was good and I actually learned a decent amount because of the amazing teacher. I had a 4.0 gpa and perfect attendance. He really cared about his students and wanted to see them succeed. This teacher ended up leaving for a job opportunity but you get a new teacher every month anyways so it's not like if he stayed it would of mattered. The next 3 months were hell. The staff is horrible and does not care what you do. My teachers would give us one online assignment and leave the classroom and never come back till it was almost time to leave. Every student smelled like weed and I have nothing against people that smoke but I cannot sit for hours with that smell around me I get a headache yet there was nothing I could do because the teachers really didn't care if the kids came in high. There was lot's of obnoxious and loud students as well that did what they pleased and gave me so much headache. They didn't care and neither did the teachers so you can imagine what it's like in a room with 90% of kids that dont care and a teacher that goes out the class the whole time to have a chat with other teachers. Not only it's a bad experience it's also dangerous. Kids would speed down the parking lot and even crashed one time next to my car.

I am now in dept over 16k and regret every minute of it. I had to drop out as I could not stand the atmosphere and staff of that place. I live alone as I have no family at 20 years old. I want to go to college but I am stuck paying for this horrible school. Imagine having to pay rent, take care of a kid, car insurance, car payments, food, and many other things plus having to pay for a school that you hated. It sucks.

Desired outcome: i would like to get a refund on all the money I've wasted on this horrible scam of a so called school.

Lincoln Technical Institute medical assistant

I took a course 3 years ago with ideas 💡 being this would help me open up medical field to me but it hasn't nobody has ever hired me yet I've done endless interviews over the years. I actually gave up after frustration and sadness because nobody would hire me and career services sent countless of leads some would call and interview and others would not. I just want to you know I'm currently unemployed and frustrated you think I want to pay you anymore money for anything that didn't lead to a job or education of dead ends. I just wish I could went to school as LPN like I wanted to do. Porter and Chester said they give a chance at their LPN course I guess I picked the wrong school to go too.

Lincoln Technical Institute lpn program

Do not plan on going to Lincoln Tech for LPN unless you are very smart and good at teaching yourself. The staff here is useless and the Director is a scam artist. They will trick you into coming here by telling you you excelled on your Teas test. How odd when you start classes and find your classmates saying they were also told they were above average. Clinicals consisted of sitting in the break room of a nursing home, rarely able to handle patients as these places do not want to be liable if you make a mistake. 15 months of classes and you get to experience exactly 2 med passes. The teachers here act so above you, treating you as though you're an idiot peasant who needs them in order to survive. I plan on filing a complaint for fraud and applying for the borrower defense to take care of my loans. Oh yeah, I find it awfully strange with a company this large that you're unable to view or pay your loans online. I asked for a receipt for my payment or even a regular bill and was told they don't do that, that my bank statement serves as my receipt. I have never heard of such a thing in 2019. I should be able to see what I owe and what I've paid. Please please do not go here. I wish I had just gone straight for my RN.

Lincoln Technical Institute their education

Ok. Be very vigilant when you come to Lincoln Tech. Ask all of the questions before you sign any paper. Now lets get to it. This school is a joke and is just stealing my money. I will be dropping out soon and go somewhere else. I expected better and more hands on labs, but you just get lecture through slide shows. The teachers are out to get you in anything stupid you can think about. Also you will feel like you back in high school. They tell you what to wear and how. You as a student have no saying in it. You are about to spend 20, 000 dollars for education that you can do on your own if you buy the books. All we do is waste time most of the day. They do not have substitute teachers, so at times you have a teacher running 3 classes. Its really hard to believe, but its true. This is happening at the Edison Campus. Two weeks ago I complained to the Director of Education and nothing was done. there is not student counsel to watch over your business. My teacher had an emergency and had to leave, I understand an emergency. The teacher next door watched over the class and his own class, plus a third class of students, all in different mod. This happened around 12 noon. We had to take a quiz. The teacher made us wait an hour to take the quiz and I had to stay in class doing nothing after the quiz was done. You will have a lot of work on your own like 75% of the time. Think twicw before joining Lincoln Tech.

Lincoln Technical Institute medical billing and coding program

My name is luzmary ramos-sosa I am a recent graduate of lincoln technical institute also known as lti. I enrolled on 02/11/2015 - 11/03/2015. I graduated with a gpa of 3.86 and received a certificate for deans list, in which I had to maintain an a for three consecutive months. I am 28 years old and very proud to have went back to school after so many years but I am very disgusted to say I graduated from lincoln. First of all let me clarify that nothing that they taught me helped me on my extership, I had to be retrained by my site manager and was highly embarrassed that she had to call my school and ask for the curriculum because I did not know how to bill. She also requested to go to the next meeting in which they give feedback on the curriculum taught at lincoln. They also lied to me and said that we were a high paying job and we would be making good money. They never said we would be getting $12-15 dollars which is exactly what they are offering us that is not high paying. I am currently home buying study guides to help me get certified... Waste of time, I could have saved all that money and bought a couple books and study at home. Majority of our classes just consisted of reading a chapter and writing down power points. Many of days I had to teach myself the curriculum to achieve the grades I got. I was so lucky to have such positive and motivated peers in my class that we formed our own support group to help each other study and find new ways to understand the curriculum better. If we would have had experienced teachers that worked at our school then we would not have had this problem. Many of the teachers in lincoln, have at least once confessed that they were recruited from the work field as experienced medical biller and coder (Mcb) and after some training at lincoln were put to teach. Now this is very bothersome. This program is exactly 9 months long. Not much time to squeeze in all the information you need to be an mcb, why would lincoln believe that it is ok to have unexperienced teachers trying to teach us the most important classes like coding. I couldn't explain it. I complained every single day. To everyone as high as corporate. Oh and corporate they are just as unprofessional as the school. Not only did corporate not keep my identity confidential when I did complained. The people who I spoke to in regards to my complaints, I had to constantly call to speak with them directly and all they did was email the dean and press her to fix the situations and them knowing one of my first complaints was about the dean. She did nothing when me and a couple of students reported two of our teachers speaking to students rude and inappropriately and rolling there eyes at the students. There is no chain of commands because no one does nothing but point to someone else. Corporate did not call me back either to assure me the problem would be resolved and because of them failing to keep me anonymous I was treated unfairly and felt discriminated against for speaking up. One thing I can say is the staff sticks together, that school is so corrupt its ridiculous. I had spoke to the president of campus about unfairly being suspended from school. For doing nothing but breaking up a fight in class. This occurred twords the end of me graduating. By this time I have made lots of enemies. Two of my classmates got into a fist fight and I broke it up. When the teacher arrived he automatically started yelling at me. I told him to lower down his voice I was not the one fighting and I knew he thought I was a troublemaker, no one likes someone who says the truth but that comes with being honest. Of course he took the opportunity to say I was being intimidating and challenging him whatever that means. I guess a nice way to say he was wrong and I addressed him on it. So they sent me to speak to the dean in which I have had previous uncomfortable encounters with and asked for another teacher to be present in our conversation because she hates my guts for going over her head and reporting things to corporate. So no teacher was present during our conversation but a teacher stood outside the door. Supposedly "anyone involved in a fight had to be sent home upon investigation" mind u she contradicts herself and says" she knows I was breaking up the fight because she spoke to some students already. " so why was I being sent home? Discrimination? Yes.. Later that afternoon she calls me back and says I was using foul language and students in other classrooms heard my voice. Mind you this conversation is in regards to a fight during class with loud screaming and tables moving and two girls fighting with no teacher in the class room... How was it my voice they heard and students that don't even talk to me from another program that have never heard me speak. Wow.. This school is great. I ended up having to sign that false write up in order to not be supposedly expelled. For breaking up the fight.. Oh which brings me to another time where me and a girl, another student from lincoln, got really close and had a personal disagreement outside of school and decided we no longer wanted to be friends. I decided I am older and more experienced in friendships sometimes they go sour and the other party becomes resentful, so I started sitting away from this individual and avoiding her so there would be no conflicts during class. So on this particular day I came a few minutes late and someone had sat in my usual seat so I sat in the back not to disturb the class. Shortly after that she comes in late and sits next to me. So I got up when the teacher wasn't speaking and moved a couple rows in front. The girl then started verbally attacking me and insulting me. I did argue back and I did it but I took all precautions to avoid speaking to her for this reason. I felt embarrassed, frustrated as well as offended. When the teacher addressed us it was clearly her who started the arguing I had said not one word to her. But they still wrote me up for disturbing the class. And I refused to sign it. So that week I called corporate and made a complaint that this girl was ambassador of our class and why was she still representing our class as a role model if this is the behavior she was promoting. It took some time but she was stripped of her black uniform but no one did nothing about my write up that reflects behaviors that I would never portray unless I felt attacked. Just sitting here remembering my experience at that school and all the things I want people to know gets me more upset that I trusted this school to enforce their staff to act professional as well as the students. I trusted them to make sure I had a friendly positive experience everyday when I come to school. I expected them to be organized and get back to me when I ask for something. I cannot express how big of a mistake it was for me to go there and if it wasn't for the support at home and my support from my peers that this school almost broke the motivation I had to further my education. They nearly drained all the happiness I had inside of me. I even went to a therapist for a couple of weeks to get some clarity about how was I feeling about the pressures in this school. Please do not make the mistake I did. Research the school before you enroll and consult with your family make sure you are mentally prepared its not easy. And speak up if something is bothering you, who cares if you have to deal with crap for it. No one likes to hear the truth.. I want every last dime I spent on that program, every dime I owe and I want pain and suffering. The problems I endured in school took a tole on my relationships, made me depressed and affected my grades. I have much more stories and many more complaints and if someone can help me in suing this school please contact me at [protected]@gmail.com upon request I can produce statements from multiple students as well as emails to and from the campus president as well as phone records if needed. Thank you... Sincerly, unhappy student... Luzmary

Lincoln Technical Institute tuition

The nursing programs cost about $34, 000 to attend. I was going to the Hamden campus until I failed a class. I missed passing the class by one point. I took the class again, had the worst teacher. Asked for extra help from teacher but no results. She never responded to by email request. I was 3/4 thru the program when they kicked me out. I asked to take the class again, offered to pay for the class and they said no. No money was given back to me for tutition. Since I was 3/4 thru the program, they have it in their policy no refunds. I have no certificate either.

They are nice to once you start but if you need help, you are ### out of luck. The place is unorganized with giving textbooks and having clinical rotation sites ready for students. They charge you $300.00 for the cheapest scrubs they could possible get for 3 sets!

The director of nursing has no compassion what so ever. A nursing school with no compassion? I have NEVER met anyone who graduated from there that liked it. I wanted to be a nurse and I was a great student and they completely crushed my dream. I am starting school at another place. I would not recommend anyone to attend the Hamden, CT campus. That place makes me sick to my stoamach and I know I am not the first person or the LAST they will screw over.

Lincoln Technical Institute lincoln tech

Hello to all the persons out there. Please use your best judgement when deciding on getting an education. These schools offer nothing but garbage and they will ruin your credit. These online schools like ITT, university of Phoenix.Everest, Colorado Institute are all garbage and the diploma is worth less then a roll of toilet paper! Its real sad that they actually get away with ripping people off and deceiving them with there commercials. If you really want an Education attend your Local Community College. The credits that these schools offer are not transferable to a college or university. what a joke! Lincoln Tech and Pennco Tech are clown schools ripping youngster off. Beware don't let them suck you into that vicious cycle of deception ..

Lincoln Technical Institute never do lpn there!

Well first off never go to this school ever. I thought maybe some people were just jealous because I was going to nursing school but no they were actually being really honest. Everyone is so nice when you sign up and begin class and then BOOM they start treating you like crap because now they have your money. They treat everyone even adults older than them like little kids. You have to sit in alphabetical order and you are spoken down to all day everyday. I don't understand how the school wants you to fail when they won't get the full amount of the ridiculous $32, 000 which should be $5, 000 at the most for that school. Community college is 1 million times better. Lab skills they teach you for what you're actually going to do on a real life patient consist of them showing you maybe a quick video or showing you very quickly on a dummy and then you're supposed to have it mastered and do it on real people in the nursing homes! Scary! At clinicals all you do is CNA work. So be prepared to wash patients, toilet patients and change diapers and feed them all day! Great $32, 000 nursing skills. I didn't know this. The books are horrible. They are not detailed at all but the tests are given and you're supposed to know the details. They gave me an interview to see if I had the right mind set to be a nurse BUT then they accepted anybody off the street into their program. People from prior mods/semesters have said that they were failed out due to teacher error so you have to review every test of which you can't take home and you must remember all that you got wrong because you're not allowed to write down the answers. & then those questions that the majority of the class got wrong are the questions that are used on midterms and finals. They tell you what to not worry about on a test and then they put it on the exam and say oh well afterwards. You have to stay after and review every test because every test they mark answers wrong that are right. The teachers don't help you and one actually wouldn't answer questions days prior to a test in case it was on the test. Aren't what you teach us anyways on the test? How confusing that day was for me! The teachers are all nasty and have attitudes. God forbid you even cough during attendance. And if you ever try to explain yourself you get marked absent and targetted and they retaliate against you. People they don't like have right answers marked wrong. This happened for pretty much every test. Myself and others were being accused of timing out of the program because teachers marked us wrong on purpose and then we have to go down and see the ### Ms Baker, the nursing coordinator, or whatever she is. She is an evil ### let me tell you. She lies and says students do things so they can get kicked out. If you go to her and say you don't feel good, they force you into a medical leave. And if you fail out they say you can come back and then they give you a hard time to return. So all of the people who fail out end up having to go elsewhere or waiting months and months just to try to come back. The dean is worthless. He doesn't return calls.Attendance is taken every hour and they mess that up. You're not given much time to be absent. You can be kicked out if you go past 12 hours absent. Imagine 12 hours only to be out in 13 weeks. They don't care what's going on either so don't ask. The staff is all miserable. No one is friendly. Just take this advice and run with it, far far away and tell everyone you know. Go to community college or state run programs. It's not worth the $32, 000 loan.

I just posted a compliant about the Hamden, CT campus. I was a student there. What a joke. What a dump. $34, 000 and did not graduate. I failed life span by one point. Run far from this place.

Director of Nursing: Mrs. Simonette. Terrible woman. Has no business running a nursing school. More a dump.

Went to the school finished with honors, the school promised to help find a job in the field that was studied, but they lied.

I attended Lincoln, graduated and now work as an LPN working towards my RN. I've found many complaints on the internet, these complaints are generally from students who have failed out due to slacking with attendance or just had attitude problems and probably shouldn't have been nurses in the first place. The admissions department did interview and they stress the program is tough and attendance is strick, there is an entrance exam you do have to pass to even been considered for the program. If you're interested in the school don't listen to someone who is bitter about messing up and getting kicked out. Seek out graduates and get their opinion.

Lincoln Technical Institute waste of money - salesman

I went to LTI [protected] with the promise of a career in the auto industry making a good salary at graduation as well as reasonable loans and state of the art training. Through the time I was there none of the training aids were ever in working condition. A good amount of instructors were not only uninterested in teaching but showed up to class drunk - or would just have us sign out and go home for full credit. I'm not in high school, I'm an adult paying out of my own pocket for this education, driving an hour each way 4 days a week after working 8.5 hours not to sign out and go home. Dont get me wrong there were some very good instructors. BUT nothing they promised happened, no jobs available for placement, no state of the art equipment to learn on and ALOT of loans! Its a complete waste. The recruiters are salesman

I completely agree, I've been interested in joining LTI and their recruiters have been harassing me by calling my phone with numerous different numbers just to get me to come in. For an institute that is suppose to be at the top of the automotive industry, they are pretty desperate to get individuals to join their courses. They've even called me at work. After close research I found out that their recruiters are salespersons, earning a wage or commission off of each individual they sign up.

Lincoln Technical Institute surgical tech program

I started my surgical technician course at lincoln tech on july 7, 2009. The weekly test given in the a&p course was a joke. On mondays we were given all the test questions on an "exercise" sheet, answered them as a group and were told to study them for the test. Basically, you memorized every answer you got an a.
Then I started the actual surgical tech class which was supposed to be from 8am to 1:15 monday thru thursday, always out by 12pm and many cigarette breaks cut our learning time in half.
Then 2 of my classmates and me were sent out for our externship. Our teacher warned us that men were more respected as surgical techs than women which should have sent up red flags for us. We were sent to a hospital that had a slow surgical unit. For the first week, the director of the surgical unit left us 3 standing in the hallway, wouldn’t answer any questions or give us any type of direction on what to do and they wouldn't let us into surgery.
It took a month and a half to get into my first surgery. After that, I spent most of my time pulling cases because no one wanted to let us scrub any cases. Mind you, to graduate you need 150 surgeries as first scrub.
All 3 of us complained to the teacher and to the director in charge of externship that we weren't getting any cases and were being ignored. We expressed concern that with out the required amount of cases how would we graduate? We were told not to worry about it.
At the end of my 4 month externship, I had less than 20 surgeries as second scrub, 0 as first scrub. The school graduated me anyway on june 16, 2010 and on my paperwork for my certification my teacher put that I had completed 159 surgeries as first scrub, 9 being neurosurgery which wasn't even done at the hospital I was interning at. This school has no concern that they're sending under educated people into operating rooms, would you want me helping in surgery if it was you or a loved one on the table? I wouldn't.
I have been unable to find employment. When potential employers hear I went to lincoln technical institute, they snicker and I don't get a call back.
I'm currently seeking legal representation to sue for my tuition and the interest it's accrued. Hospitals keep records of everyone in every surgery and the duties performed so it'll be a piece of cake to prove I was only in about 20 surgeries, not the 159 stated on my graduation papers.
Do not waste your time or money on this school. What they're doing is illegal, unethical and will probably kill some unsuspecting patient someday.
Oh, I forgot to mention how violent the students on campus are. Teachers getting threatened by students, students getting threatened by other students and a general sense of race separation among student the body. High school wasn’t this bad.
