Life Time Fitness customer service

Hi everyone. I have been a member of lifetime for 5 years exercise pretty often even if I dont I rarely switch to 10$ per month option. Im writing this to complain about schaumburg, il location. Today I went with my gf who was possibly looking to join. We were greeted by maryann napolitano assistant sales manager. On the way to the office maryann asked my gf who have never been in lifetime in her life did she ever came to lifetime. It was one of those things when server asks you were you ever at the restaurant and you say yes, so my gf said yes 2 weeks ago. Again she never entered lifetime in her life. Well ok so as soon as we seat down with maryann she starts telling us we will have to pay 25$ fee. I told her no way I will pay 25$ fee. My gf became very uncomfortable with whole situation. I told maryann to check my gf in the system and she said that it doesnt matter because my gf told her that she was at lifetime o_o. Looks like she wanted to play cops if shes not in the system she was never there and she wasnt. Tehn I said only thing we can do is cancel my membership because this is crazy thats why ypu have that system installed. She agreed asap to cancel my membership wich I would gladly do but im member for 5 years im use to it. So maryenn starts telling me im having a bad day o_o and I had awesome day off beautiful weather nice lunch with my hot new gf and I was like nah you are having one not me. Then maryenn starts telling me how she is a single mom how her life is hard blah blah. Im single dad lol doesnt matter. Long story short my gf said there is no chance she will ever join and I will cancel it too when I find something that matches lifetime around here. Thank you maryann napolitano so much for wonderful roid filled service you have provided us. Sorry for any spelling mistakes im european maybe that was the problem I dunno know.

Life Time Fitness managers

Managers there are so rude. They are so discriminatory against employees, customers and when they interview you, they totally discriminate against you. Managers are having sex with trainers and giving them special treatment, hours and favors. They are so unprofessional. Ericka dressler is one of the managers there that is constantly discriminating upon employees and backs-up the other managers when they discriminate against people. Policies in lifetime are that you are not supposed to have sexual contact with other employees, well they broke those rules. Also, most of them do not have a college degree. I would never return to that gym. It's really disgusting the attitude there.

The Berkley Height, New Jersey Manager Paul Russo was screwing his employees od 17 years old age.

Other trainers Screwing someone's else's wife! and in their summer Camp almost killed my five years old.

The Facility is full with Rich racists especially those they come in the morning hours. The Pickleball setup is primarily set for those with white skin and have lot of money. they call it "their country club" where in fact the facility should be shut down it's a hallmark for bigot and spouse upgrades.

Life Time Fitness changing rooms

Hello,
Unfortunately I have to complain about men's changing room in mississauga on. Location. Some members adopt this location as prayer room. My self and many like me, we are far from being comfortable. I ask service member and I was told that I can cancel my contract if i'm not happy to see people praying in changing rooms. Please advise me if this is legal and if we have to terminate our contract.

Life Time Fitness supposed one-month membership that I keep getting charged for

Late last january we arrived for a one month stay in litchfield park, arizona. I visited the local lifetime fitness club and was told by the assistant sales manager, kevin ripley, that I could take out a 30-day membership. When I found that I was still being billed through my credit card company after returning to calgary alberta I emailed mr. Ripley and he replied that I should send him my membership card and he would see to the cancellation right away. When, in fact, further monthly fees were deducted from my credit card I again emailed him but received no response. At that point I called their customer service who did tell me that there was a policy of cancelling memberships for members who moved away to areas that have no lifetime franchisee, which is the case for calgary. However, I still have not found a way to deal with this issue with the company.

Life Time Fitness customer service, night manager/front desk

Monday 12:15 a.M. July 3, 2017
My daughters, husband, and family friend were intimidated and harassed by the male working the front desk. He spent 10 minutes looking for "paperwork" that they did not need, questioned them, and cited policies that were irrelevant to them, since they are card-carrying members. He then, tried to say one of my daughters was using my (their mom) card. Which they did not need to do since they have their own. After speaking rudely to them and detaining them he proceeded to follow them around the entire night.
We pay a lot of money to belong to this gym and we should not ever be made to feel like we do not belong. I would like to see this person officially written up and he needs some sensitivity training. I am disappointed that this is the type of person lifetime fitness chose to represent them. It says a lot about the company.

Life Time Fitness corporate culture

The lifetime in orland park illinois does not value its male and female members equally. I am a male member and have seen this inequality demonstrated several ways:

1. Most of the advertisement is geared towards woman. Take a walk through the facility and every poster is a picture of a female who is either working out or who had a before and after picture. Even the men's bathroom had advertisement with a family (mom and 2 kids without dad).

2. The free classes are designed for women, taught by women, and attended by women. A part of my membership dues goes towards supplementing these free classes. I would expect the management to try and make these free group classes more male friendly. Even the timing for these classes prohibit most working men from attending.

3. I have personally heard two female trainers speaking about how stupid they think men are. They were having this conversation in a training room that was empty but for 4 guys and me. They were speaking loud enough for me to hear their entire conversation from across the room, without any regard for the men present. This tells me that they have no fear of any negative consequences for their anti male opinion being expressed publicly.

4. Lastly, all mothers were offered a free shake from the lifetime cafe on may 14th 2017. Father's day came and went without any such free offers.

Life Time Fitness membership cancellation policy... move away or die.

I signed up for a one year membership and I am 4 months in. I am looking to cut my monthly costs as much as I can due to financial situations.
I called to cancel my membership to which their representative replied, no problem, just come in and you can take care of it in person. After I drove there to cancel, they informed me that I was unable to break contract since I signed up for a whole year. So after several calls to there "customer relations" they wont even let me out with a cancelation fee, they informed me that I would either have to move away or die in order to break "contract". I asked customer relations rep just let me pay a fee, told me it was not possible.

Life Time Fitness membership hold

I've been a member since 2010, and i've put my membership on hold plenty of times when I would be out of town. This last time I put it on hold they were charging $15 a month which was okay. But my last statement showed that it automatically came off hold and they somehow I agreed to that. They said they changed their policy and I had to choose a date for reinstatement. I did not choose a date for reinstatement, and i'm going to japan for one month. Knowing this, there is no way I would've chosen to pay for the month of may for absolutely no reason, and no access. I called every club i've been to, and headquarters. Everyone was rude and told me they emailed me and i'm out of luck. This company is garbage, I received no emails, and this is something I would never do. I'm a law student, and i'm prudent enough not to make such a ridiculous decision to pay $75 and not use my membership. This club shows no loyalty, they don't care about anything put the money you pay. Every person i've spoken to has been rude, threatened to shut in my face, and told me that I can't get my money back.

Life Time Fitness kids academy

This is in regards to the lifetime fitness in ajax, ontario, canada.

I went to the gym this morning with my 2 year old son. We've been members since january 2016, and we go about 3-4 times a week. They know me, and my sons very well at the kids academy.

This morning, one of the women working at kids academy, approaches me and says my 2 year old son has a scratch and bruise on his stomach that looks like I punched him. They kept asking him what happened when I was around but he wouldn't say anything. But when he was alone with me, he would say he got hurt in our backyard playing, but with them he would say I punched him. So they called child aid society of durham ontario, without telling me they would. I had to call them, to find out, that they're "following" up was to call child aid society.

Child aid society came to my home. Talked to me, my wife and our 3 sons. The lady from child aid society looked at my son, and thought it was more of scratch/rug burn, but she wanted our family doctor to check him out.

I went to see our family doctor, only to be told after he got a full body check to make sure nothing else was wrong. That it was an old scratch that was healing.

Now the case is closed.

The woman who called child aid society has 5 kids of her own. She should've been able to know what a punch vs scratch looks like.

This happened april 26th 2017 between 9:30am-10:30am in ajax lifetime fitness.

I want them fired! I will not except anything but!

Life Time Fitness operations

I am a member at the castle creek location in indianapolis indiana I appreciate amenities provided. However I am sick and tired of the men's locker room always looking like no one has cleaned once a certain time comes around. The time I am speaking of is typically after 3 or 4 pm and later. The only two employees who constantly work is the short black gentlemen and a gentleman by the name of frank. I never see the head manager there I never see him working I never see him doing anything. The only time operations is responsive is when the shorter black gentleman is working. It's the only time the locker room is actually clean and the only time things get done. Maybe promote him or give him more hours and I doubt understand how the general manager has let this go on for so long. Other members notice it and all the general manager does is sit in his office continues to lead the head operations manager slack off and not let frank or the shorter black genetlmen take control. It's disappointing that members notice that those are the only two people that do work and the head operations manager does nothing but yet the general manager of this location does nothing about it. The short black gentleman which I believe his name is marcus does everything and the head guy does nothing something needs to be done about this.

Life Time Fitness poor customer service at flower mound tx location

Hello,

This complaint only pertains to one individual whom you have employed at the lifetime fitness location in flower mound, tx. But her behavior and attitude was so disturbing it bleeds into my overall viewpoint of lifetime fitness.

Her name is kevyn. She would not give her last name. I spoke to her on the phone as well as in person. Kevyn is a very rude and insincere individual. She is severely lacking intact, sincerity and most importantly customer care/ customer service.

With my initial call to lifetime I spoke to landon on march 31st. My family and I are in the process of moving and unfortunately I needed to terminate my membership. I knew that there would be a pending charge for the month of april soon so it was important for me to call before the charge came though. (I signed up on january 3rd. I assumed my monthly dues were the 3rd of each month). I called lifetime and spoke to landon. Landon explained it would be no problem but I needed to call back the next day, saturday because there was no one there at the time who could assist me.

I called the following day (saturday, april 1) and that is when I was first introduced to kevyn. From the onset of the conversation she was rude, hateful, arrogant and absolutely annoyed over speaking with me. The tone in her voice was full of venom. She patronized me through the entire conversation. I finally asked if there was someone else whom I could speak with as I was getting nowhere with her. She gave me the phone number to your corporate office (again this was on a saturday) and then she hung up on me.

I tried calling the corporate phone number she gave - and received a recording that the hours of operations are m-f 8a-5p. So, the following day I visited the gym in person, hoping to meet with her and get an explanation of her negative attitude and her complete lack of customer service. She presented herself with the same exact attitude as she had on the phone. When I told her who I was she stated, "I remember you!" when I reminded her that she hung up on me she smiled at me and said, "I sure did!" she then asked if I called the corporate office to which I said yes. She said "and...” I told her that her corporate operating hours are m-f, 8-5. To which she said,"oh, I didn't know that."at this point I am just stunned with disbelief. Shouldn't customer service be highly regarded in an organization such as this? I can't get over how horrible she was being to me.

Almost 100% of the time, most for-profit organizations work with their customers, especially in a situation as this in which I am moving. As kevyn stated, lifetime does not offer any compromises. I cannot understand why lifetime fitness would have a policy such as this in place. I am not so certain it is lifetime that will not compromise, I fully believe it is kevyn who is refusing to come to an agreement. I explained to kevyn that there is no way I will be able to use any of my membership in april as we are moving out of town. She did not care and basically said to me that my account was already charged and it is what it is, there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. I understand that there is a contract we signed, but again, most businesses would work with a customer in a situation such as this.

Not only was kevyn delighted to not offer any compromise, she went one step further to tell me that in addition to charging me for the month of april, she is going to ensure that I pay for may as well.

I have not been able to use my membership with lifetime since the middle of february. I hoped to be able to come back in march but I could not. I kept my membership open for march and knew that I would pay for my membership for march even if I did not go. So knowing I was moving, I had the mindset that lifetime would see my attendance of the last few months and work with me on a comprise for april. Never in a million years would I have thought I would be treated the way I was by lifetime fitness.

Considering what I have been through with kevyn, I feel as though lifetime should come to some compromise and at least credit some of the april fees back to my account and not charge me at all for the month of may.

At the end of my conversation with kevyn, as I exited the door she gave this sinister laugh, held her hand up and waved at me. As if to tell me"don't come back".

Life Time Fitness taking money out of my account. without permission

I was death bed sick and lost a business in the last year and I emailed them and asked if I could put my membership on hold. I was told yes 15 dollars a month. I was ok with that. Then after 2 months it started creeping up. I emailed and called no one ever called back or emailed me back. Well today the full charge went through my account. This is after I changed my debit card out to a new debit card. There is no way they had m account information. So now they are stealing from me. And I am angry. Is there anything I can do?

Life Time Fitness unethical behaviour manager, mark c. huckaby

I am writing this in regards of unethical behavior of the manger, mark c. Huckaby (national sales coach), at lifetime fitness located at 25600 rancho niguel rd laguna niguel ca 92677.

I am disgusted with the manger attitude and I am very upset. I cant stop thinking about the incident! I am still on shock!
He embarrassed and humiliate me front of other people.

My terrible experience with manager of lifetime fitness at rancho niguel just, happened yesterday sunday march 4, 2017 3:50 pm.
He disrespect me.
This is unethical behavior, he has no right to treat people like that.

Briefly,

I wasn't familiar with this club, it was my first time. I live in rancho niguel, I can just walk to lifetime club. It was my day off and I was riding my bike, decided to stop by at lifetime café to buy a healthy juice. I got in café from patio entrance because I had to leave my bike at the patio, I had no lock. So didn't want leave my bike far, no safe with no lock.

I asked staff working at the café if it is ok to leave my bike, I was told it is ok.

Then I asked for carrot juice if they make fresh, I was told they just make smoothie.

I cant have preservative so I didn't get it.

I asked them if I could use restroom, they said it is ok.

On my way to restroom I noticed hair salon and spa that seems nice. I taught I can get some information since just few block to my house.

I asked lady at salon reception, she asked me to sit to get someone to help me to get a tour at club.

I was excited and sat and waited.

That moment I started to think to get membership if I like the place after tour.

All of sudden this unpleasant person who call himself coach! (printed on his card) "healthy way of life company"!

Shows up and suddenly with his angry face and unethical behavior raise his voice on me yelling at me, front of other people an reception, kept telling me where did you come from! Did you come form main door and etc.

I was shock and had no idea why he is such as a wild and aggressive person.

He didn't even let me talk.

It is so irritating for me even describe the situation!

So painful! Never had such experience in my entire life.

He put one of his hand on his belly and with other hand point at me, I really taught he wanted to hit me!

It was so bad!

He ruined my day, I am so upset!

I told him he has no right to talk to me like that. He kept screaming.

I asked his card and he just left while he said he didn't want o talk to me!

I am so upset and at this point I am going to file complain about manager unethical behavior to different sources.

I am really not surprised at this. At Life Time, everyone is taught to "protect the base". So, it really is similar to being in a cult. I'm sorry you had to experience this.

Life Time Fitness lifetime fitness centreville, va location.

My experience at lifetime fitness in centreville, virginia-

I notified the front desk lady that I would stop my membership in november. December 27 was my last day.

I was told this was taken care of. They did not take care of it and now you want
Me to pay for their lapse.

I was moving out of state and that's why I gave notice. They refuse to talk to their employee at the front desk. She was a young brunette. If they can't manage information that is not my problem.

I also plan to go to social media about this, along with their poorly maintained equipment,
Cleaning issues, and some of the inappropriate things that go on in their men's locker room, which they know about. To call this gym “gay friendly” is an understatement.

All of those issues didn't make for a great gym experience.

Now I get an email saying I owe 275.00. This is because of a female employee who is now turning this into a person issue. If the clerk didn't process my termination when I told her - why wouldn't the lady I spoke with in jan, feb and now mar do it.

Life Time Fitness membership "hold" cancellation

When I first joined more than 5 years ago I stopped going and tried to cancel. They talked me into "holding" my membership for $10/month. I never used it again and 5 years later have paid hundreds. I have moved several times and now live 1000 miles from the center. I find the recurring charge in reviewing credit cards and call to cancel. Even after 5 years of free money they want me to come in to cancel. I said I cannot. They would not cancel over the phone for any reason. I have to send a certified letter to the club-that costs money too. I am an idiot for not realizing it was there-though I do remember the sales guy saying I could "cancel at any time" when I signed up. I would never walk into a lifetime fitness center again. This is how they make their money-by signing people up and making it difficult to cancel. Of course in my vast free time I will probably not get a certified letter out soon and will pay another month or two.

Life Time Fitness front desk customer service

We had visited the woodbury mn lifetime as we live in burnsville and we were passing through so it takes us time and money to get to this location. My roommate thought he had left his tshirt there so he called them asking if they could check the locker room or the lost and found and the person at the around 8:45 pm (2/11/17) front desk stated "there's only two people working and they have deadlines and cannot be bothered so you'll have to come in and check yourself". This is not okay we will now have to drive all the way back there to find out of the tshirt is even there because the front desk wouldn't take two minutes to check for a shirt. We are very disappointed as we usually have good experiences at lifetime. Please see that the proper actions are taken for these team members as this was inappropriate behavior for a front desk team member to be having great customer service.

While the representative should have spoken a little more politely, often times employees can't leave their posts especially with limited staff in the evening. It is really not the responsibility of them to look for something your friend may have lost. It is literally not their job.

Life Time Fitness everything! customer service! money hungry! cancellation policy! freeze policy! disrespectful

First complaint! I wanted to join a gym that offered classes like zumba and dance! I was a dancer (ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical) and I was a teacher and taken zumba two other places! The classes here are not offered at good times, nor enough options (zumba is once a week!) also, it's not a zumba class! Idk what I tried out but last time I checked russian kicks were not zumba. Zumba is supposed to latin inspired moves and this was beyond disappointing!
Then they had three teachers switching during the class... What? If one teacher can't handle it why should he class?!? I am sorry be consistent! Plus zumba should be a mixture of high intensity and low for optimal calorie burning and lower impact!
Second complaint-once they get your money and signed up they don't care about you! Sure everything sounds great free week of thisand that blah blah... But be prepared to be judged by your compliment personal trainer session! I got walked around the gym! No suggestions of what to do while I was there besides spend more money and join a class or get a personal trainer! Seriously pissed off! Not what I was told would be the case!
Third complaint - the free lifetime bucks or whatever promised never given, free month for a guest passes never received and whatever else I was supposed to get in that package all lies! I asked twice about them and still nothing!
Fourth complaint-which was one of the last straws! Everyone is disrespectful, don't listen and the account managers talk fast and don't explain everything!
Cancellation process! First of all get with the times! I should not have to come to the club! Make the form available online! Mail in a written notice via certified mail! Excuse me?!? You want more money for what... You don't have faith in the postal system-unnecessary!
Reason I decide to cancel! I was told if at anytime I need to put my account on hold I could no questions asked! Lol well that's a lie! When I called they said I need to bring in a doctors note! Seriously! I don't work for you! You have no right to ask or request that information! Just beyond ridiculous! So I will be canceling and finding a real zumba and yoga class, somewhere where money isn't the main goal, and where am treated with respect and most of all I don't need a doctors note. I can't believe that!
I am an adult this is not school, work or anything where that information should be required upon my choice! I broke a toe... Can't walk but you need proof! Who do you think you are?!? I rather give my money to a gym with less perks and be treated with respect. Dont join the cult of lifetime! They need to review their policies and realize when the trend of the lifetime wears off they will need to close or downsize! Hope it's not to late before they shut down for good! It is the time of on demand fitness and I can do what I want for free or for a fraction of the cost! Just a horrible experience! Sadly ppl stay!

Life Time Fitness customer service

The level of customer service you can expect from lifetime fitness has deteriorated over the years, which is such a shame for a nice facility such as this one.

The new personal training department head, john orr, is beyond a doubt the worst employee ever to ever be employed at this location. He has on numerous occasions gone out of his way to make derogatory and vulgar comments to myself as well as a number of different members. He had at one point even physically threatened me all of which was caught on camera! Firstly, you would assume someone who is a personal trainer and an employee of the facility to act respectfully towards members, but that is not the case. I attempted to handle the manner civilly by contacting corporate and later speaking to the general manager of the location to address the issue. Nothing was done, and the harassment continued. At the end, I decided to end my membership after nearly 15 years to go to a facility that respects their members and holds their employees to a higher standard. I guess you should have low expectations for a facility that has had high turnover in the personal training department for a plethora of reasons: multiple counts of theft, inappropriate client-trainer relationships, and so much more.

Life Time Fitness cancellation

This happen at the Lifetime Fitness in Parker, Colorado. For the last past year we have been receiving Lifetime magazine Experience Life and was told that it will stop after the first month of cancelling our membership. However this did not stop for over a year when we talk to Lucas their salesman in April of 2015 to cancel our membership. As for their sale people, it's a huge turn over. Lucas was not employed after a short time, from the time we start our membership in February of 2015 to April 2015. This should of said a lot about any business about the stability. Maybe Lucas got fired for giving members wrong information or lied. Back to my story about the magazine. When I did get sick in tired of looking at this magazine on my kitchen for over a year, I called Lifetime yesterday about it. I was told it's their Lifetime Health Membership that we sign up in April and they were charging us $10 a month since last year. That's almost $140! I asked to cancel this membership but was told it has to be done by person or by a letter through mail. This lifetime health membership was good for nothing. It has videos online that we were never show how to use and this useless magazine that we never sign up. Also it will hold our spot if we ever want to join again without a startup fee. In any business, they will contact the member and asked if they want to rejoin with this hold on their account, which lifetime never contacted us for over a year. The person I talked to said they emailed and called us in April of 2015. I asked for a copy of the email when I cancelled our membership in person yesterday. When I arrived their new salesman can only show me a message detail that said Elizabeth emailed and called us. But he could not print this message details when I asked, welcome to 2016 lifetime. Screenshots! After my wife got home from work, the story got more interested. She did not received any email or phone call from Elizabeth. We checked my wife email inside and out and can only find an email from Jeff May their GM asking how out membership was going April 2015. She replied on April 24 2015 about how unsatisfied she was when we try to cancel our membership with Lucas she signed her up for the $10 lifetime health membership and how there was no note on the cancellation when she called to follow up later. Jeff did not reply back to her about these bad experiences. As a GM I expected him to address this and a phone call would be even better. Another bad customer service was when I was there cancelling our membership that we did not use for over a year because I did not know we have someone handed their salesman a envelop with my name. This person that handed the envelop did not say anything and the saleman just gave it to me. In the envelope was our contract with the lifetime health membership contract. It had not signature by us just signature on file. However after I cancelled our membership they were able to print a copy with my signature and we received an email. Lifetime fitness is all about money and lies. If you try to cancel, they will sign you up for something else so you will be stuck paying them monthly. Lifetime Health membership is a disguise to a death sentence $10 charges is small enough for you to easily miss on you bank statement. They lie about emailing and calling you when they can not supplied any copies except their own way of a log message details which any employee can do. No time, no phone numbers, or person they contacted. Their ways of doing things will make your life a nightmare, can not email to cancel a membership, cannot print, have no copy. This is 2016! Avoid Lifetime Fitness if you cancel they will find a way to get you back in! Full of people that lies, cheat, and steal! With no emails or real legitimate log from them, my bank help refunded the monthly $10 charges. They don't want to work or help you. They just want your money so they can build their huge gym will so many staff that do nothing. Lifetime fitness is a road to your worst nightmare!

Life Time Fitness continuing to receive rejoining propaganda!

Many years have elapsed since I was informed that my money was no longer welcome at the garland, texas location. Since that incident, i've continued to receive letters, inviting my wife and me to rejoin the location. I informed these people several years ago that I no longer wished to be receiving their "trash" in my mailbox; however, they sent my a "black friday" notice this past week. After reading the numerous complaints on the internet, it's rather obvious that any sensible human being (such as myself) wouldn't care to be spending any amount of money at any of their locations! From the evidence on the internet, it appears as if the garland location has fallen by the wayside and the owner of these places is shipping the money of the hard-working taxpaying citizens of this nation (who are gullible enough to be members of his clubs) to his native iran. If the garland location has fallen off in such a fashion, i'm certain that other locations are doing so, as well!
