LG Electronics defective product

Purchased over a dozen lg model lp070ced air-conditioners (ptac's) and have had many problems. internal fan motor constantly goes our so that it cannot blow cold air. believe it or not lg is still installing fan motors that have problems. they still have not addressed the problem. five problems in less than a year of service. I would not recommend this unit to your worst enemy.

LG Electronics poor service

I have an LG microwave oven. About one month back it started showing errors in its display system. On lodging a complaint, it was attended to thrice by technicians from LG Electronics. First, the circuit board was replaced, then the heating device was replaced. Even then, the oven failed to work properly. The technician then said that the transformer needed to be replaced. The next day another technician checked the oven and said that the transformer was OK but something was wrong with the switches. After that nobody has come to attend to the oven, despite giving repeated reminders.
IS THIS THE KIND OF SERVICE EXPECTED FROM SUCH A REPUTED COMPANY? THEY CAN'T HIRE COMPETENT TECHNICIANS?

I find this to be par for the course for LG. I just bought a new microwave oven that does not work It hasn't worked since the day it was delivered. LG would rather send technicians to my house rather than replace the unit (only $188). I find the policy for repair/replacement to be very foolish because rather than take the $188 loss for replacing my defective unit, they are sending appliance repair technicians and leaving me without a microwave for over a month and the problem still has not been resolved. $188. That is what they must be seeing as the bottom line- not the cost of every appliance that I will buy for the rest of my life. Bad business.

LG Electronics failure to return repaired items

After buying a new LG E-500 notebook, last summer, from CompUSA and having the screen fail as well as typing key problems I fought with CompUSA and LG services over warrantee repairs (which took three months) and then sent the unit from Belize C.A., where I am located, to Canada, as requested by LG. for the stated repairs.
After two more months, the unit was returned to to me through a USA friend traveling here to see me and I found that the power cord was not returned, thus, a useless notebook.
I have been in e-mail contact with the "repair agent", CCS GROUP, in Canada for the past 5 weeks, seeking the power cord.
They no longer reply. The only statement they made, three weeks into the "discussion" was that LG would send them another cord for, for me ( no time, no place, no further replys)
NEVER EVER BY AN L G ANYTHING. I can't believe I found a company worse than SONY to deal with, but I did.
At this point, you can buy my worthless computer for $800 if you have a power cord. I don't!

We bought our DVD Player/Recorder RH387-M with in October last year(2008). At first everything thing was working fine, but after 2 months we started to get some problems; the DVD player would not read anymore discs. we called the company about this, and they sent us an email about not being able to qualify for their service despite saying on the phone that this is a very common problem with this specific model. So for two months we were able to record onto dvd's, but little did we know that these dvds would not be readable for any other type of dvd player, we tried at least 4 different brands.
Never buy any products from LG - Life is Good only for LG and not for their customers.

LG Electronics poor quality of product and worst support.

Mail Sent to LG MD on 11 Jul 09.
Response Awaited:

Dear Sir,

Everybody likes 24X7 Support, Call Attend Time within 24 Hours which LG Commits for their Precious Customers, keeping this view I have purchased one Window AC

Model LWA 18 F1 RDL1
SNo. HDT - 601NLNC0004711N

I think that i have done a big mistake to purchase LG Brand as after lodging the complain I find following things which i would like to put in your notice.

About Your Call Centre, Service Centre and Officer:

9th July I lodge the complaint and i came to know that it will be attend within 24 Hours through Servo Desk, Noida Service Centre. But nobody turned up till whole day, at night I received one call at 8.10 PM from Service Centre Engineer (Cell No.[protected] Mr. Jagpreet Singh) and he himself fixed the appointment for 11th July at 9.00 AM,

Anyway I waited till 11.00 AM then i called Service Engineer and i found his phone was off then I called Mr. Neeraj (Service In charge Servo Desk Noida Cell No. [protected]) but phone has been picked by her wife in office hours as 11.00 AM, well then i called Call centre (011-[protected]) and their I have spoken with 3 call centre executives Name Mr. Aditiya, Mr. Sahdab Hussain from them I had taken "call centre officer" cell no. (MS Vaishali -[protected]) to discuss about problem but even after trying 20 -25 times and sending SMS i have not received any response, again I called call centre from there I have spoken to Ms Versha, she put me on con call with Mr. Neeraj (Servo Desk) and then they arranged one Engineer Name Mr. Murli ([protected]) he came to my place and checked my AC for Max to Max 2 Min. and confirmed that GAS LEAKAGE Problem and suggested that in such cases we use to pick the AC at our service Centre and somebody will pick the AC from my home at around 5.00 PM, he also told me that the Place where AC has been Installed is not Appropriate which was suggested through your LG Engineer at the time of installation and for that reason i lodged the complaint two times already. Well i myself waited whole day for him then i have spoken to Mr. Ajay Chawla ([protected] at 8.30 PM.) from there I have got Mr. Atul's No. ([protected]), he apologized and informed me that somebody will visit my place and install standby AC at my home at around 11.00 PM (11Th July 09) then at around 10.10 PM. I received phone call from Mr. Murli ([protected]) and he apologise and informed me that we are unable to provide Standby AC tonight, we will pick your AC on 12th July 09 Morning and deliver on same day.
Enough is Enough
Well sir after doing this much exercise now I don’t want to get it repaired, I want somebody should pick this antique Piece from my home and help me to forget this episode. I am going to buy New AC from other Vendor.

LG Electronics ac not cooling

This problem exist for last 2 years. FIrst time i am seeing this site. I have bought a LG 2 ton Split A/C. Just after finishing the first year, the problem started. The room will get cooled for 10 minutes after that A/C compressor is tripping. LG service people came and replace almost all parts of the A/C but still same. Now it is the second year. Another hot weather season in UAE. I went to other A/C service people and they also saying this cannot be repaired.

LG Electronics selling counterfeit products that they make

They are selling counterfeit windmills that they took from Calla Breeze wind turbine company. They are saying that they are the manufacturer of them when they are not.they have stated it to customers that have been in contact with me about this.I have customers that have sent me pictures of the items and they are indeed counterfeits being passed off as one of my windmills.

LG-Wholesale, Global Trailor, Legion Global etc. etc. etc.

Is by far the worst company ever. My husband and I ordered a mini-bike for our boys last year for Christmas. We finally got the mini-bike on Christmas Eve and needless to say it has never worked. I have called them, emailed them, and absolutely nothing worked. I payed via my bank account instead of my Credit Card. ( A mistake that will never be made again.) Because I payed that way I was unable to get any of my money back.

This company needs to be shut down for good. And the people involved in running this scam operation should be in prison.

I support Calla Breeze's complaint. EFI pull the same song and dance on me.
I just called my Credit card co. told them of the fraud on EFI's part. The payment was credited back to my credit card.

As for EFI, I won't mind it if they try to fight it. I'd love to half them in court...anywhere/anytime.
Don't this they TRIED to scam me contact me. My facts are in order and supported by e-mails.

Well we have only sold under one name and that is Calla Breeze.LG wholesales or EFI or Global trailers or many of the only names are who you are talking about here they sold Calla Breeze windmills from Calla Breeze Turbine Company before Chris Briden and his brother Gary Briden thought that they could cut out the Manufacturer and start to make counterfeit Calla Breeze windmills.Even now with a law suit pending against EFI they have changed their design but are still using Calla Breeze technology .
By the way they did buy them from Calla Breeze.Just enough to get all the positive feedback they needed before switching them out with the counterfeit products. Many customers are now filling a class action law suit against EFI or who ever they go by for bate and switch, fraud, and other crimes performed by the Duo Brothers of Briden fraud.
If you want the real truth about the brothers just go do a Google search on them or any of their companies.Every one of them has multi lawsuits filled against them.complaints.BBB reports that just don't stop.
I will not stop until I see both of them placed in jail.
WHY WORK IN AMERICA WHEN YOU CAN STEAL SOMEBODY ELSES HARD WORK? IS THAT NOT YOUR FAVORITE SAYING CHRIS BRIDEN?
The Briden Brothers are criminals
and need to go to jail before they rip of any other hard working people!

Either LG took them from CallaBreeze, or they are manufacturing counterfeits. You can't have it both ways. How did they "take" them if they didn't buy them from Callabreeze in the first place? Steal them in California and take them to Illinois? LG and Callabreeze were both using the same pictures of their windmills for quite a while. Maybe LG bought some Callabreeze windmills and reverse engineered a better model, and Callabreese is just pissed.

Callabreeze was selling their windmills on Ebay under another name until there were so many complaints about customers paying money but not ever getting their windmills that they stopped selling there. Or maybe got kicked off Ebay, I don't know. Both these companies have sold under a lot of different names on Ebay and elsewhere, and both have had a lot of complaints. I wouldn't buy from either one of them if I were you.

LG Electronics smelly bad for your health

Terrible LG washing machine. I've had it for 4 years and about 2 years ago it started to smell mildewy. We live out in the country and on a water well system which is high in iron, so I thought it was that! I did read the manual and cleaned the filter and drained the water and on and on and on. When I called costumer service they only told me to do what I had already done. Again, kept thinking it was an isolated incident due to my water. They never suggested to get a tech to take a look at the problem, even though I had wasted more money on an extended warrenty>>>>

Then I went on the net and read all the 100s of stories posted by people which mirrored my situation. It is not my water, or anything I have done or didn't do. I leave the stupid door open all the time, my husband and I fight about that all the time as we all keep banging into it. I even take out the soap dispenser after each wash and clean the rubber. I have tried Tilex and Affresh and on and on, it still stinks..

I am sick of the way my clothes smell and the stinky washer. One interesting thing I also discovered was when I took out the soap dispenser while the wahser was running on the spin cycle and I took a look inside the rubber tube with a flash light, I found so much water sitting there that was not draining out! It was splashing around. Once the cycle was done, I took a long stick with a towle and when I took the towle out it was soaked and was black! I wonder where they tell you about that in the manuel? Those of you who were unfotunate enough to buy this piece of ---- should try this.

The company won't do anything. There are a few class action law suites in the United States against LG and others who have this faulty design. ANYONE KNOW OF ANY LAW SUITES IN CANADA? OR HOW WE CAN START ONE? What happened to mold and mildew being a health hazard? My husband and younger son have sever allergies and this only adds to their misery.

If anyone knows what us Canadains can do about this please post it on this site. PLEASE>...
R. Bell

Does anyone know if there has been a class action suit brought in Canada for LG front load washers and this mold issue?

Is your machine a front load washing machine? If so then there may be a design defect that causes mildew build up. Here is a link to some of the class actions relating to this product. Good luck and email me under the "Contact Us" tab at www.classadvocate.com if you need more information. You are definitely not alone with this one.

The trick for you might be to find a Canadian law firm. Good luck.

LG Electronics poor performance/cust. sv.

We purchased LG washer, dryer, refridgerator & dishwasher all at the same time 2 years ago. We spent thousands of dollars on the appliances. In the first 2 months the dishwasher motor burned out and was replaced. Then, 1 year and 6 months after the purchace there was a fire in the refridgerator from the light source. Now, 2 years from the purchase the washing machine is dead. No power to it at all. The outlet has power and there is power going into the electrical cord, but the machine is dead. Customer service says that LG won't stand behind their machines after the one year manufacturer warranty and we're on our own to fix it. Never, never buy LG appliances. They stink!

I, too, purchased LG appliances three years ago, French door refrigerator, already replaced broken parts, cheaply made, the oven had to have the circuit board replaced (right after the waaranty ran out) the door to the range is rusting and I'm scared to use the self-cleaning oven because the repairman told me that was the cause of the circuit board blowing! I will never buy another LG appliance they are JUNK!

I Purchased a LG Fridge Model No: 365YM0G5 through Neha Electronics (P) Ltd., LG dealer in Mayur Vihar Phase-I Delhi vide bill no.0019503 book no.391 dated 06/04/2010. i am facing problem with my refrigerator which i purchased is causing rust on the door part of the refrigerator body, for the same i have already loged a complaint to the LG customer care centre (Complaint no. RNA110103042940 & RNA110118026008) but no action has been taken yet, after complaining a representative came at my place and told me that rust which is occuring on the body of the refrigerator is a manufacturing defect which needs replacement of the Main Door of the Fridge within a week time. So far, nobody has come to replace the same. On 19/01/2011 when I talked to your call centre regarding my complaint one Mr. Anuj told me that your call has been closed due to non warranty of parts and customer is “not agree to chargeable basis”. But when I checked on internet there is one year warranty is showing for the parts of fridge.

Repeated reminder & E-mail. No action has been taken in this regard.
I advise to people do not purchase LG product because LG's after sales service is very poor.

Our LG washing machine leaks. It was next to impossible to get through on the phone and get a service person out there. Even after they showed up and supposedly fixed it, it still leaks. We've only had it 6 months. What a piece of crap!

LG Electronics broke after 2 years

I purchased the LG Refrigerator - French Door / Bottom Freezer LG model LFC22760. On its 2 year anniversary, the door broke. It turns out there is a very cheaply made plastic part that clips to the body that keeps each side door shut. Without it, the broken side doesn't positively seal. Online, the replacement part costs $85, and includes the entire door gasket. I've never had a large appliance break in so little time. Conceivably, I will need to buy 5-10 of them (2 doors...) over the life of the refrig. I'm disappointed - styling is great, but quality says Don't Buy LG!

LG Electronics poor customer service

We purchased and entire kitchen suite of appliances from LG Electronics and within two months had an issue with the icemaker. For the next 7 months the icemaker was change 4 times, the computer was changed, the control valve was changed along with the harness. It was finally determined that the refrigerator was unrepairable and would be replaced. The problem was that the model we have is no longer available and we had to take one that did not match the rest of the appliances. It was our problem not theirs and they would do nothing to make it right. We waited a long time to remodel our kitchen and we made sure that all the appliance matched, but because LG dragged the repair process out for 7 months when it came time to replace the defective unit, a matching unit was no longer available. LG has one of the poorest customer service organizations I have ever dealt with, DO NO BUY THEIR PRODUCTS.

LG Electronics bad quality

I bought an lg 32 inch lcd tv exactly 2 years ago. and yesterday I turned on the tv only to see a that the screen is not working. and this tv is only two years old! and they dnt come cheap either!

So thank you lg, because samsung now has a new customer. I will never buy another lg product of any sort ever again. for a tv to last only 2 years is simply not good enough. you spend money on these things and you expect them to last you a long time. especially if you buying (well so I thought) an lg product!

I will be going to SAMSUNG also. On my" LG TV The Power Standby Indicator sits and flashes on and off and can not be switched off even when plug pulled and replugged. It has taken up to 12 hrs. to get TV turned on. ( All over a $3.50 capacitor)

I purchased an lg tv model 47 le5400 12/26/10.
On 3/10/11 the tv breaks down no sound or picture but when powered on lg insignia illuminates so I know voltage isn't the problem. I do service on alot of high end appliances such as subzero, wolf, Bosch etc...
I kinda know how these things work. I call lg and their customer service skills are piss poor. They have your money now and we the consumer are stuck with crap. They set up an appt. For the guy to come out and look at it and let me tell he didn't even know how to turn it on. He also stated he had a service manual at his shop, but he didn't think to bring it and he would need to take it to his shop b/c he wanted to call tech line. He had a cell phone and I had two that he could've used but he refused to call from my home. Called lg and explained the situation but they don't care. I will never have another lg product

LG Infinia 60PK950 60-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV (Electronics)
I had this TV and loved it for 90 days and than the problems have started. Right now I have been with out TV for a about 60 days. LG customer service is a disaster...horrible they just read scripts, lie to you and even hang up on you when you catch them in a lie. In all fairness to Amazon I purchased through Magnolia or Best Buy. So right now BB will not help other than sending geek squad to "fix it" LOL yeah right most of those guys are pimple faced kids who I would not trust hooking up my TV let alone testing and replacing circuit boards. LG has sent 3 repair people out to my house to fix it.

GUY number 1

I thought great he made and evening appointment quickly and seemed to be on the ball. Than he came to my house...wow...

Took 2 hours of messing around to tell me my Y sustain board is broke and needs to be replaced. After waiting a week for parts he replaced Y sustain board and it did not fix the issue. He plays around for another 2 hours and than says I need to bring my 60 inch tv to his shop...Excuse me I am not bringing it anywhere your supposed to fix it in my home. Secondly if it breaks on the way there or in your shop I will be out a $2200 TV.

Call LG back and after being on hold for an hour finally get a completely disinterested customer service rep who was reading from one of those lovely little scripts and tells me that they can send someone else out who is highly recommended or I can wait 2 weeks for LG service itself. 2 weeks? I mean come on already at this point you should be replacing my TV it is brand new...oh but wait LG does not consider a 80 day old TV brand new, they act like it is my old POS i need fixed.

I mean come on LG this is your flagship model Plasma TV at the time I purchased it. IT was a $3000 TV and I got Best buy to match Amazon Price for $2200, not some Walmart special that is substandard and uses cheap parts.

They than proceed to tell me that they will only at their choosing replace the TV when they feel they have exhausted all other options. And than I will get a refurb TV at that! Add to this insult the fact they can replace it with a "like model" (which means it can be a 50 inch cheaper model) and I should be happy about it. WTF! So frustrated as all hell I book the next repair clowns that come out in 5 days.

Guy number 2

Comes out to my house looks at the TV and can not figure out if the TV is even on or not...what a [censor]. I have to help him understand how I know the TV is actually on. He than pulls out the volt meter (oh no flash backs of the fool above who used the volt meter for 2 hours) and says he finds the problem in about 5 minutes. Cool he says the last guy was on track with the Y sustain but it is actually the buffer board that plugs into the Y sustain that was causing the problem. Allright now were getting somewhere. Wait another week for Dumb LG to ship parts, than another 4 days for company to have free opening for fixing TV. after waiting all day since they only will give you an 8 hour window, they showed up the last hour they could have...real nice.

So he replaces the board we get giddy with excitement and boom nothing happens. I mean it's like a standup comic who bombs the puch line right as the rim shot is given. He looks for more problems cant find any after an hour and says he is going to recommend to LG that it be replaced.

I wait 2 days and call LG and repair guy recommend that it be replaced was never recieved at LG even though reapir company says they did. LG makes up some lie about repair service being allergic to animals in my house and that they could not fix the TV due to the animals. WHAT! ARE YOU F ING KIDDING ME! THIS IS SOME BS JOKE RIGHT? But no they were quite serious. So after debating and hour with the lower Juan Wilson (I am sure not his real name, keep in mind I wait 43 miutes to reach Juan so now almost 2 hours) I finally get the answer I am looking for, I need to speak to the Executive service team (the people above the standard schmoe who will not help me). Oh and how convient they left 30 minutes ago. Rage consumes me and I dream of driving up to LG headquaters and throwing the TV threw the CEO's window and it hits him on the head causing him to see the "light"...but alais I come back down to earth ...it is a 60 inch TV after all, I am big and strong but not sure how far I could throw the TV. Hang up and realize I have to wait until monday this is now friday night.

Call on monday morning at work and get the 28 minute wait..hey were improving on customer service times now...whohooo

I get someone who they put on the phone who barely speaks english. I am not racist but come on LG Why in gods name would you put someone on the phone with a US citizen who can not speak in complete english sentences? They end up hanging up on me as I tried to get them to understand the issue for 30 minutes...put me on hold after telling me they finally understood the issues...OMG really...

Another call to LG and another 50 minute wait this time (hope your like your 800 number bill LG ...jagoffs) I get someone in atlanta that was nice (getting excited maybe they will finally be the one to help me) she gets me in queue for exceutive service team (good lord, another 15 min wait). I get the executive service team and of course they have attitude right away (look if you dont want to do the fing job I am sure there is people out there who are unemployed who would love the chance lady) and she gives the standard company lines and scripts and proceeds to lie to me and tells me she cant book and direct LG tech since there are none in my area...but wait two other people told me their were...she's BS me and I caught her in a lie and I call her on it. She gets flustered and shuts down. She is pretty much telling me I should feel lucky if they will even fix the TV at all, this after I spent $2200 on a $3K TV.

After some interesting debating again, she will not do anything but book more repair fools to come out.

Repair Guy 3 comes out and says Z sustain board is problem and he has seen this issue with LG before and even tells me that LG has had many problems with Z boards and how the cheap chinese part is to blame. Sounds like my kind of guy..but hey come on I am skeptical...I have heard this answer before.

Another week wait for parts and another 4 days for open repair appointment. Guy comes out with part and big surpise ...part no workie...

Now I am stuck in LG hell wanting to send a 4th repair company out...I just want an FING TV that works and get what I paid for...

Not sure where this will end up or if I am out my $2200 bucks...but this should be enough warning to help others not make the same mistake I did...

Funny thing is I work for a cellphone company and we carry LG phones..only after speaking with others in the company and sharing my story do I hear about how bad LG phones are as well. Shoot sounds like LG has a common theme going...lets Screw the customer to make some money. Sure fire way to go out of business in my book but hey whatever.

So please no matter what you do keep your money and buy something else but LG.

LG Electronics new phone — part missing

I purchased a new LG cell phone in a sealed package. Upon opening the package and reading the enclosed user guide-page 5 states "Check To Make Sure That You Have All The Parts Shown Below"-which includes a headset that was missing from the package. After trying to go back to the store purchased at (Sears) I was told that because it was a sealed package with a part missing I would have to contact the LG Customer Service Dept. and have them send me the missing item at no charge. What a joke, after talking to a CSR person followd by 2 CSR managers and even faxing to one of the managers a copy of page 5 in the user guide, I was told they would not send me a replacement for the missing headset at no charge--I would have to purchase the item at regular price. How can it be that any company that gives a consumer a clearly written user guide showing all the parts that should be shipped with an item could possibly tell the consumer--we will not provide the missing part at no charge? This is ridiculous, if not downright illegal. Never will purchase any item large or small from a company that rips off it's customers like LG does.

We bought three LG 5500 phones in May, 2009. By August one failed completely. No visual. Total darkness. The second cracked and bled though so nothing could be seen on the screen. Service dept. wanted me to pay for repair. Products suck. Don't buy them

LG Electronics poor quality and poor customer care service

I purchased an LG Home Theatre System from Best Buy on February 5, 2009. On March 22nd, 2009 the DVD player started to lose it's picture and every 5 to 7 seconds the picture would turn black but the sound would still be heard. I contacted LG hoping they would actually offer to replace the system since the product was only a few days past the 30 exchange period. They refused and made me have the item repaired. So I am basically stuck with a brand new now refurbished LG product. The HT963TA was actually on a list that was sent out to all ASC (service centres) which informed that the product was to be exchanged and NOT repaired. The product was taken off the list in February yet LG was too cheap to offer me a replacement.
Here was my letter to them:
On February 5th, 2009 I purchased a brand new LG home theatre system from Best Buy. On Sunday March 22nd, my family was about to sit down to watch a movie. During the start of the movie the screen started flashing black. The sound was always there but the picture kept turning black. I tried to replug everything but nothing worked. I took the unit upstairs to my other HD TV and the same thing happened. I tried using 3 different HDMI cables but nothing helped. I tried contacting LG who told me that the unit had to be brought in for servicing at AudioVideo RD. When I called, the person I spoke to told me that this unit was on a list that was to be exchanged and not repaired. I was relieved because I believed I shouldn't have to be stuck with a refurbished unit I paid full price for only last month. When I called LG back they told me that the list was an old one from December 2008 and that a new list was distributed in February 2009. They told me I had to have the unit serviced. I am asking you politely to reconsider your decision as I truly believe that LG has a better reputation than to force defective products onto it's customers when the unit broke down only days after the 30 day exchange warranty expired. If you insist I have my unit serviced I will have no other choice but to do so. However, I will make the general public aware of the service you have provided and the quality LG has put out on the market. I am not making any threats here I am just pointing out the facts of how my case was handled.
This was their reply:
Hello
Thank you for contacting LG Customer service. We are here to help provide you with the answers or guidance you need. If you require further assistance please submit a new request or contact customer service at [protected].
Unfortunately after the initial 30 days the unit must be serviced. Please take the unit to Audio Video RD to have it looked at.

Well, I am keeping to my word and I am going to make everyone aware of the way LG has handled my situation. They are putting out poor quality products as they had these products on a list to be exchanged. They are aware of the problems but refuse to replace them. Their customer (we don't) care centre is a joke and only after numerous phone calls will they call you back with an answer. A pathetic one at that. I suggest to the world that even if LG is offering their products cheaper than the competition it is worth paying the extra buck to get a quality product that won't force you to have repaired two weeks after the 30 day exchange policy. AVOID LG PRODUCTS!

FOLLOW-UP:
They weren't budging and told me to bring it for servicing. After bringing it in for servicing they weren't able to fix the problem at which point LG offered to replace the unit. After waiting a few weeks and several emails and phone calls they told me there was a back order on the unit and it would take another month or so. I got fed up with their lies and empty promises and decided to take this to small claims court. I filed a suit against them and upon receiving a letter from small claims court of my intentions, a customer relations personnel from LG contacted me within a week. She asked what they could do to fix this. I gave them my demands and they were willing to comply. What I got was an upgrade to a Blu-ray HTSB. They also gave me a one year warranty on it. I've had the system for over a year now and have had no problems...KNOCK ON WOOD!

Our LG dryer Stainless steel tub cracked along the tub weld joint line and LG refussed to even supply the parts free after the repair facility asked them too. So we must make costly repairs or trash unit. We will never buy LG anything again and will tell everyone we can about their crappy products and the fact that they dont back them even when it is an obvious manufacturer defect! Dont buy LG!

LG Electronics, buy from them if you most, but be aware...Their return policy is: NO refunds or EXCHANGES !. they have developed the perfect system to make you keep their defective products, I purchased a gas range unit, on my first FIRST try, the thing was burning some thing like paper or metal, had to shut it down inmediatly, also this unit has a piece of metal on the upper ventilation system which prevents any cooking pot or frying pan to align in the center of the burner, there is a gap in between this piece and the unit that traps any food residue and ther is no way to clean it...what a mess! they have so far sent two so called "techs" and all they say is to open the windows, that there is nothing wrong with it, I am screwed with about $1, 400 ..can not use it..most likely have to re-sell it a a hugh loss...LG and Home depot the perfect combination...a bunch of wise guys...

I bought mine in dec 08 and the sticker on the back shows it was manufactured in Oct/08.
I am having the exact same problem as mentioned above, the picture goes black with the HDMI cable every so often but the sound is flawless. I too phoned LG and the fellow on the phone said to use the component video cables instead. What? A brand new upconverting DVD home theatre system and he wants me to simply use component cables which defeats the purpose of upconverting as component will only go as high as 480p. I am very dissappointed to say the least! If they do not do anything then I will make sure that everyone I know will be aware.

can any one help

Yeah they're pretty ###. I bought a 23 inch monitor from them last year and I never had a need for the HDMI port on it until I got an xbox360 I tried it out and sure enough it was broke. So I contacted LG received a number for shipping and sent it in. It got to them and about two weeks pass with no email to me regarding the state of it or if I was being shipped a replacement so I contacted them and was told that it had already been delivered to me (Lol) I told them it hadn't and they told me I needed to contact Fedex without them giving me a tracking number... I tried to explain this to the rep but he obviously didn't give two ### to listen. So finally the next day I talk to the same guy and he tells me how he made a mistake that it is on the way now. When I finally got it expecting a new one or mine fixed and returned I look in the box and they have sent me a beat up "returdished" monitor with horrible body work and ware. So I hook up it and guess what! The colors are completely screwed and the screen is blurry. I contact them again only to be told that I will not receive a new one I will get another refurbished one. So I email two seperate LG reps multiple times with a response here and there. Now they have stopped answering my emails about getting my original monitor fixed and sent back instead. I guess it's going to take me sometime to get a working monitor from them... either that or they will pretend I don't exist until my 3 year warranty expires...

Yep, there it is again - the famous LG customer service! I'm having a similar "couldn't give a cr...p" attitude from LG this time in Portugal and with a LG KP500 cell phone. It is not even a year old - it's gone in some 3 months ago because it kept switching off and they slapped on the "famous" software update (on a cell phone that's around 5 months old?) then second time it goes in because the battery would not charge - found that the contact by battery charger slot "snapped" off the board and for this..."sorry, not covered by guarantee" so have the board fixed AT A COST THAT'S VERY CLOSE TO A NEW UNIT! Now that's business for you - sell low quality item, when it packs up, force customer to buy new one based on some sloppy excuse for a lousy product...replace the unit? Neeeeever, it'll bring LG worlwide down in this time of crisis, total financial ruin! LG products? NEVER AGAIN! NONE WHATSOEVER! And more - I'm getting rid of ALL LG products I have in my home ASAP...

Same here..they should stop giving their customer services at all. I had problems with my LG AC. After trying hours, I could reach customer care and they assured me that someone will call me up for the complain logged. Nobody turned up and I kept trying to reach them many a times and they kept telling me stories and excuses. At the end of next day, a service engineer stopped by at my place. He did his basic inspection, collected his visiting charge and assured me that he'll come back early morning tomorrow. Next day, I kept trying that service engineer but he didn't even pick his phone till the time of my writting this review. Don't know when a tiny problem of my AC is going to be solved by this awesome customer care. So please be aware of the fact that don't expect support from the LG customer care. Better you choose your own freelancer mechanic for sorting out your LG products problems.

I would never buy an LG product again myself. We purchased a frontloader washer and dryer set from Future Shop, November of 2007 and on December 2008 the washer stopped working. The washer was actually acting up about 2 months after I purchased it.
I was out of a washer for 2 months. That's how long it took to try and figure out the problem between the technicians at LG and the technician that was called by Future Shop to fix the problem. No one has been able to figure out the problem to this day, April 2009, the washer works when it feels like it and then quits. Future Shop will not replace it even though I bought a 5 yr extended warranty on the units and LG could care less because it's past the manufacturers warranty. Never again as far as I'm concerned. LG SUCKS! I'm also questioning the Extended Warranty offered by Future Shop and Best Buy.

LG Electronics defective tv/poor customer service

This is a letter I sent to LG Electronics after having no success with customer service for defective TV still under warranty. It describes my experience.

My LG (Life is Good) TV (26LG40)

Pretty as can be
Pretty as can be, my 26 inch LG TV
It has a slot for a DVD
When I fed it a movie
It liked it so much
It wouldn't give it back to me

Oh dear, oh dear oh dearie me
I begged and I pleaded on bended knee
It finally caved in and spit it out

And oh what a growl, a groan and a shout
But then it stopped, it stopped talking to me
I begged and I pleaded on bended knee

My pretty as can be LG TV
Was only six months
A young'un to me
It still has a warranty good as can be

Oh doctor oh doctor oh doctor LG
Please come and cure my pretty LG

Oh no, oh no, it's too little you see
It's only six months, you surely agree
You must box it up and send it to me
I'll send you a label to ship it for free

A box? A box? A box also for free
Will you send me a box for free

Oh no of course not, that's your responsibility
Mine? Not mine
Yours, Yes yours
Mine? Not mine
Yours, Yes yours
Mine? Not mine
Yours, Yes yours
You get a box, I'll send you a label
With that label you can ship it for free

But a box, a box, box is not free

But you get the label to ship if for free
So generous, so generous we are at LG
We think you must surely, surely agree

A box that size is not easy to find
I think your expectations are not very kind
You said I need to send it by Fed-Ex
A very fine business, is that Fed-Ex
So I trekked to a Fed-Ex store
And spent many minutes more
They were kind, so very kind
But the right size box they had no more

Oh dear, oh dear oh dearie me
What can I do to ship it for free
I trekked down the street to the UPS store
I thought it could be, it just might be
That he had a box the right size for me

Oh yes, the right size don't you agree

Oh yes oh yes I shouted with glee
It's just the right size for my LG TV

He looked straight at me
Did you say LG
He was thinking he'd buy a new LCD TV
He shook his head sadly
When he heard of my plight
He saw an LG he thought was just right
But after my story it wouldn't be right
He'll find another brand sure to delight

I asked him how much the right box would be
He said he was sorry it wouldn't be free
The box with the bubble wrap would be $19.47
I gave him a twenty with change of fifty-three

As I walked out the door he called out to me
If you have any more trouble
Come back in
I'll see what I can do to to help you
And your pretty dead LG TV

Oh Mr CEO or is it MS
Perhaps you could help me
I'm sure you're a whiz
You're company's so large
I'm a customer so small
You might send me some money
I ask only a twenty
That's the cost of the box so that twenty is plenty

Oh my oh my how the minutes did fly
Trying to find a box the right shape and the right size
But I'm willing to give you those minutes for free
That's very generous, yes generous of me
Wouldn't you agree
Agree
Agree

I await your call I await your call
That you'll give me a box for free after all

But the label, the label the label is free?
You said you would sent it in days one, two three
It’s been two weeks and hasn’t come to me

The moral of this story :
If you have a pretty dead pretty little LG TV
You must send it back to the factory.
The shipping is free
But getting a box and a label is hard as can be

It’s clear to me now
That LG doesn’t know how
Or doesn’t quite care
How their customers fare

I am a customer of LG Electronics using refrigerator and microwave from your company. I purchased the Refrigerator in 2017 but find problem today regafrding cooling. I lodged a complaint with LG customer care and to my shocking surprise, the complaint was forwarded to Perfect electeronics asnd their rep. visited my home posing as LG Engineer, purported to have replaced the items, charged Rs.2100/- whereas the problem has not yet resolved. I would like you to find out the nexus between customer care office and pvt operators to avoid any reputation loss to LG Co. I am taking this issue with Consumer cell also.

We purchased what we thought to be a very nice surround sound about a year ago and have been able to use it for about a month total. It has broken 3 times and has been sent in three times to be repaired by LG with no results. The last time that we received it back it was broken on arrival, they didn't even fix it when it was sent in. We then call to get a refund or something equivalent and we are told they need our receipt when we sent in with the original unit to be fixed. (Our mistake for not making a copy). They then expected us to drive three hours to get a receipt printed from where we originally purchased it from because they do not know how to keep records correctly. This is the worst experience that I have ever had with a company. The only way to make this right is a full refund and I will never buy or recommend LG again.

This is a complaint about my lg dvd recorder. mine was 9 months old when it had a motor failure. the part was under warranty, but lg insisted on charging me $85 for the labor to fix it - even thought it was caused by their failure. I had purchased it at best buy and they went to bat for me to try to get lg not to charge me this fee. lg refused. best buy replaced my lg with a sony for a couple more $. lg didn't care about the customer, and didn't care if they lost my business. I will never buy an lg product again and recommend that you not purchase one either.

After buying the A/c for a month now the LG customer care is claiming tht they do not have the stock of the filter which was not provided with the new Unit .Although we had to undergo an ordeal to get the A/c after paying cash down in Advance and waiting for good 2 days, If allowed i will never recommend any LG products to any of my known people. We had previously purchased Washing machine, Refrigerator from LG before and had excellent service. Its quite rediculous to note that why your Aircondioning division operates in chaos.

I purchased an LG fridge in March of 09' here it is Sept 10' and my LG fridge has completely stopped working, no power! I was just informed that my warranty was only for 1 year and therefore I am responsible for the over $500 repair bill. Clearly LG only makes their products to last through the one year warranty. I would not get another LG product if it was free. If my review will change just one person's mind and stop them from buying anything LG it will have been worth my time to write this. DO NOT BUY LG! Worst appliance and customer service I have ever experienced!

Purchased phone prox April 2017. Would not hold charge. Determined after switching batteries that phone had problem, not battery. Got RA to return phone for replacement or repair. Couple weeks later got another phone as replacement. Packager at LG service had put staple through box and cracked face of phone. I got another RA and returned that phone. The same phone came back a week or so later with note that "This producdt is damaged and not repairable. Corosion all over the main board." I explained to LG service we had not used the phone but that it had been shipped back to them in a matte of minutes of being opened. They gave another RA and I returned it again. Recieved it this date. Same phone. Same note about prior damage. We did not damage the phone. It was sent to us like that.

I was lied to by the Sprint representative at the store in Wilton Mall, Saratoga Springs, NY regarding the LG Remarq phone. I was told this device came with an microSD card..it did not. I was told the phone had a video camera...it did not. I contacted sprint regarding the clerk who sold the phone to me...said they could give me a discount on the card? I contacted LG to find out what I need to do ( I have since let my phone lapse with sprint...I don't intend to pay for this crap) and they said I need to contact Sprint. I addressd the situation that I was misinformed about their product by Sprint. If they have a business partnership...it would be beneficial for the both of them to make sure they are selling the same product...as it comes from the store. I blame LG just as much if not more than sprint, for not ensuring their product is not being sold under false pretenses.

Would someone just own up for this mess?

I wouldn't trust either company...not anymore. Also, the LG phone...which was guaranteed (by the Sprint Store representative) not to pocket dial anyone...did, about 10x a day. Do no t buy this phone, or trust a Sprint store.

I had purchased an LG Intello washing machine from Vasanth & Co, Porur, Chennai(Invoice No.[protected]) on the 27th Oct, 2017, this was delivered on the 30th Oct, 2017.I had my repeated calls to the dealer on the 31st Oct to find out if the installation would happen on Saturday (1st Nov, 2017), he promised it will happen and I would receive a call from LG Service centre. It has been found that after several follow ups the call was registered on the 1st Nov, 2017 and I received an SMS for the confirmation (S8CB0104084).
I receive a call on the 1st Nov from LG service person saying that he would visit my place on the following day between 10-11 AM. Unfortunately we didn’t see any one turn up on the Sunday (2nd Nov, 2017). Now looking at the above facts I’m wondering if LG is fully resourced to handle service calls/demo calls during such promotional sales. It has been 4 days since the delivery of the machine, I haven’t received any confirmation on installation yet, and do you expect me to install the machine myself.
It has been a week since the WM is delivered and there is no sign of LG service Rep.I am not sure what would be the service going forward.

All fancy colourful websites and workflows are more of a lip service when it comes to field level execution.

I am writing to you as a result of countless arguments and follow up
with the LG Customer care and Region Centers for a wrong buy.

We had bought a 42 inch TV from one of the famous retail outlets on
15th Aug'12 at Mumabi. The Outlet displayed a huge board of amazing
discount of 40% on a 42 inch LED 3D TV, which seemed to be an
irresistible buy for a middle class family like ours.

Having the TV delivered to my cousins house in Mumbai, we paid the
additional cost
of travel at the mumbai Airport to Bangalore.

On 23rd Aug we requested for installation of TV. Seeing no response
from the local LG team we asked the Call Centre guys for a POC at
Bangalore. NO BODY seemed to pick the phone even after ringing 10 - 15
times. After several other follow ups from the customer care we got
Mohans number. We were promised an immediate support within 24 hrs.
Again after several followups we had someone do the installation for
us. Post installation, the TV DID NOT TURN ON!

The Demo guy obviously had no idea what was wrong, said he would send
an engineer to fix it within 24 hrs. The procedure of us following up
continued when an engineer came to diagnose the problem. The same
story of being "lost" and keeping us in the "dark" continued when he
said, "Sir I don't know, you will get a call tomorrow". After several
followups from us AGAIN, and to and fro conversations, we get a revert
that they will not be able to replace the TV, they would however fix
it for us.

Now can someone or anyone answer me the below questions.

1. Why would i want to pay a huge lump some amount for a repaired TV
and still assume it as a new TV?
2. Aug '15th showed other brands of amazing discounts which we did not
opt for and bought LG assuming it was the best buy. If we are refunded
the money right now, will we have to wait for another festival to buy
a new tv?
3. We paid 62994 after discount. The local team claims to refund the
amount which was billed at the retail store. After 2 weeks of
maintaining the TV, ensuring the safety from mumbai to bangalore, who
is going to refund the extra amount of endless followups we have made
to the customer service, local team, Mr Mohan, the engineer and the
damage done to our walls due to drilling of the wall mount stand?

This is an absolute breach of trust and customer service. As a
customer i demand immediate revert on how will this be resolved. This
will also be my final communication to LG as a company for any
complaints. I will ensure I spend all my time and money at the
consumer court to receive justice on this.

LG Electronics servive overcharging

complaint to LG:

My LG washing machine leaks and I believe that the rubber gasket inside the door needs to be replaced. I contacted your service center in Phuket on Poon Poon Rd (tel [protected]). They quoted me 1, 800 Baht to replace and said that 1, 200 baht was the price of the gasket. I contacted LG in Bangkok and discovered that the gasket is only 552 Baht plus shipping & tax. I am requesting that you supply me with the "standard" price to replace the gasket and/or another location in Phuket that will provide a more "honest" service. If your service centers cheat customers and inflate prices in this manner, your customers will not purchase LP products in the future! Rather than be cheated like this, I'd rather throw the washing machine away and buy another one (not LG!). If I can't have it repaired in the next several days at a reasonable cost, that's exactly what I'll do. I look forward to hearing from you.

LG customer service reply:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your replying mail, I would like to explain for the standard of repair cost as below ;

- Cost of gasket is 762 Baht (Included Shipping Fee and Tax. 7%)
- Cost of Service is 749 Baht .(Included Tax.7%)

Please kindly confirm your convenience date for us again then we will provide you for the spare part and the exactly time of repairing.

We are looking forward to serve you very soon.

Sir,

The remote control for my 42-inch LG flat-screen TV is not working properly and I think I need a new one. I went back to the shop at Central Festival where I bought the TV (about three years ago), but they told me they could not sell me a new remote, but there was an LG shop somewhere in Phuket Town where I could buy a new remote.
I have been unable to find this shop. Could you please tell me where the LG shop is in Phuket Town, and let me have their telephone number?
My email address is editor@teesemedia.com

LG Electronics - lgmedsupply commits fraud!

The First Act of FRAUD is they advertise "FREE Shipping" - well you have to purchase over 100.00 to get it. Fraud 2 - Then the advertise products they don't ship. example they have this LG-TEC unit they advertise on their web page and you get this product call TwinStim. Fraud 3 - I purchased over 250.00 didn't get the free shipping not to mention they...

LG Electronics no service no response

my LG washer/dryer combo gave me an error code, i logged a call for the repair, i was informed that i had to pay the call out fee of R427, 50 before anyone actually came out. I made payment on the 16 Jan 2009.on the 19 Jan a technician by the name of Regan came out, he informed me that it was the PC board and he would phone me with the price of the PC board the next day. He NEVER called. 2 days later on the 21 Jan, i phoned Cape Electronics(LG cape town) to find out the price of the part. The lady that answered knew nothing about it and said that she would find out from Regan and call me back. She did call me back and informed me that the part costs a further R891.97 and it had to be ordered from Johannesburg, so it would be here by the Monday.
Regan arrives on the Tuesday, 27 Jan with the part, but then sees that the latch is also broken and therefore the machine can NOT be fixed, he has to get that part from Johannesburg now and it costs a further R73.
I phoned his supervisor to complain, I got no where.
On the 28 Jan i called the call centre and explained by story, the lady said she would investigate and get back to me. She called me back later in the day to say she can not get hold of Cape Electronics and would call me back once she has heard from them. She NEVER called back.
On the 29 Jan i called the call centre again and spoke to Zamza who was unable to help me and referred me to another lady by the name of Sumaya, who NEVER called me back.
I called her back later and had to explain myself yet again.
she was rude and unhelpful.
later on the 29 Jan i called the head office and got the email address of the MD of LG South Africa and emailed him by story. I NEVER heard from him or any one from LG.
On the 30 Jan Regan finally arrived with the latch and fitted the part.
The machine worked 2 times and on the 5 Feb 2009 the machine made a sound and switched off, tripping the mains.
i phoned Regan and told him what happen, he said he would call me back by the next day no later than 12pm, as I was leaving on a overseas trip at 2pm.
He NEVER called.
i arrived back from holiday and on the 5 March I phoned Cape Electronics to speak to Regan and ask him when he will be coming out, he was not there, so i spoke to Arthur, who said he would get Regan to call me back.
Today is the 9 March, my machine is still broken, I have explained myself to at least 5 different people and emailed the MD and still nothing.
Life is good for LG, hey?

Dear Sir/Madam, On the 06/07/2015 I took my TV LG 47 inch LED to LG Service(ET 15 Electronics PTY Ltd) in Montague Gardens, 10 Stella Rd, Cape town .My TV is still working, but unfortunately from the Eskom Load Shedding, the TV have no picture, but sound for about 10 minutes, and then the picture comes on. And the TV works perfectly after this. I paid R.200 for quotation and I wait 4 Days for answer from them.Today I went fisically there to have answer for the quotation.I am sending you the attachment with the quot I have from them. Please can you respond to me to Whom I need to take my TV to be fix and according to the quotation I think that this is a Scam. I saw in there premisses they are selling second hand TVs and I presume are the TVs from the civil people who believe that there TVs are not wort the money to be fixed and they leave them there. Unfortunately I'm not one of them and I want assistance from You competitors to resolve this problem for not repairing my TV for the real service and price. My quotation from them is for new panel, that cost R.9200 excluding the labour, because they say is no power to the unit . I'm watching it at the moment . After I start the tv the picture starts in approximately 15 minutes, but we have sound. For me LG is good its just the services they provide are all not for the real price, as we expected. So the people who repairs the appliances must take a note from that. And we had to pay R.200 for there quotation. And I'm sure it is something small, because after it gets warm up it's working perfectly.

LG Electronics no service and no guarantee

I am sure about it that the buyers are suffering from a post-purshased aguish. I have been a victim of LG and I purchased LG Home Cinema- DV-55. They gave me the gurantee for one year of its best working but very unforgettably I found it worst the very next day as no film was displaying on the screen and a bad quality of sound exposed the Quality of LG product to me very next day . I like the company to take action against the showroom in Karachi and I love them to call me with all proofs. I like that to be replaced or refunded. the company will lose its goodwill in Karachi under such a group of pretenders.
