LG Electronics LMXS30796S//00 LG Refrigerator purchased new in 2017 - Second complaint

Last year we had to replace the control panel/water and ice component at a cost of $450. The control panel had failed due to the protective cover coming loose and becoming non-functional. 45 days after replacing the original control panel, the replacement started doing the exact same thing. Unfortunately, we didn't call the repairman back until after 90 days. Apparently the warranty on the part was no longer in force, so now we are stuck with a faulty control panel unless we pay another $450. Now the sensor pads don't work. We have noticed that the design of this control panel was changed shortly after we purchased the model we unfortunately purchased. W know why now! We bought this fully loaded model having heard how great LG products are, but this one is a lemon. It also has the lit outer door light that is supposed to come on when the door is knocked-on, but that isn't working either. Cost will be around $500 to repair. Our prior complaint also was ignored, as we expect this one will be. We will never again buy a LG product if this is the quality of appliances you build.

LG Electronics LG refrigerator model # LRSOS2706S

For the third time, on 16 May 2022 The second shelf in the refrigerator door fell to the vegetable drawer below. The second time it happened, it broke the glass cover over the bottom vegetable drawer.

When I called about it, customer service was not at all surprised that it happened. They did send a replacement glass and door shelf but did not indicate that LG was doing anything to correct the problem.

There are a number of others that have written bad reviews about this issue.

What is LG doing to fix the problem?

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response as to what LG is doing to rectify this problem. If you can't fix the problem, replace the refrigerator with one that does not have this problem.

LG Electronics Refrigerator

Has been almost a month. The first tech that came out twice had no clue but supposedly was LG certified. This started on April 28th that is when I made the first of at least 30 calls. Everyone kept saying they could not find my information until Friday the 13th of May I got a lady Pamala from Idaho that was amazing and she said all my info was there so that tells me that none of them were doing their job. The one was going to put in for a new fridge for me this was last Monday or Tuesday and I needed the proof of purchase model serial# the normal so I got that sent it in and whoever I got on the line said the Lowes Receipt was not a good enough receipt they could not use that. Hmm that is the only kind of receipt you get from a store. Anyway fastforward today I received a text message that someone would be out on Thurs. May 19th between 8 and 5 but lets remember I have taken time off work already for the tech that came out before and I just called them at 5:22pm today Tues May 17th and they could not tell me who was coming, Jim the CSR I spoke with said they have not found anyone yet and I told him that I got a text and wanted to see if he could narrow the time down a little and he said there was nobody listed but it will be updated within 24hrs. Sure I believe that not. Yes I am very upset. I have not had a fridge for almost a month, oh and it is one that has a recall on the compressor by the way. And the tech that came out said he replaced it but don't think so. I'm not very smart but if you take something out you have to put something in and you would carry something other then a tool box a propane tank and a torch. No parts seen. So they say they are going to compensate me for 200.00 worth of food. Ok that is about a week or so. What about the time off work, the frustration of not being able to cook and eat food from home. Why has this not been taken care of in a professional manor. I run a horse boarding business and if I neglected my duties and did not follow through and was rude to people I would not have much of a business. I will NEVER EVER NEVER buy anything LG again due to this issue. And to top it all off the tech that was here for LG was rude to my 87 yr. old mother in law. Really why how can you be that way. So what I am trying to say is don't buy LG They say life is good when you call them and they supposedly stand behind their products as long as they don't have to help.

Desired outcome: Compensation for all the issues. Compensation for part of the 1/4 beef I lost along with all the other food. A new fridge that wont break down after owning it for 4 years it is a 2017 model and we bought it in 2018.

I'm extremely happy to be able to address you by name.

I understand exactly where your confusion comes from — LG provides the consumer with a one year, limited warranty which covers both parts and labor. After the first year but before the end of the fifth year, the full sealed system is is covered in parts only — not labor, and the value of the parts are prorated. Then, after the fifth year, but before the end of the tenth year, only the compressor is covered but, again, not the labor and its still prorated.

So in this particular case, LG is covering the entire cost of replacing the full sealed system — both parts and labor. In addition, they're helping to pay for some food loss.

I know it's a lot more difficult to look at the proverbial glass being half full when you think you're out something but, especially here, consider what's being provided. I know taking a couple of days off of work may not be ideal, but use the time to your advantage while you're at home. Do something you enjoy.

I was just communicating with someone else complaining about a different brand and wondering why "they" couldn't be more like LG, with their better products and services.

I sure appreciate reading about your concerns. For one, I've been extremely impressed with LG appliances — including that of their refrigerators.

Under LG's normal warranty, after four years, the manufacturer would cover, in part, any portion of the sealed system whereas the consumer agrees to cover the cost of labor and food loss. That's at least $1000 plus. In this case, however, the manufacturer has offered to cover the entire cost of replacing the compressor and even through in $200 for food loss.

Sometimes it just comes down from what perspective you view the circumstances from.

No this is a 5 yr warranty and there is a RECALL and a month for help. Making multiple phone calls. I am extremely unimpressed with LG. As I said I will NEVER buy again. I have spoken to 2 other people just in my place of employment that have had the same issues.

If this is how help for this site is then forget it . I dont need crap help from you to.

LG Electronics LG refrigerator

Never purchase a product from LG. Our first refrigerator quit working after one month and LG refused to repair or replace it. We had to go through Home Depot to get a replacement. Our second refrigerator in 4 years quit working two weeks ago. There are no service technicians in our area so that is not an option. LG will not issue a refund as requested. We have just been getting the run around for weeks. I urge you to stay away from LG as both their products and their customer service is terrible.

LG Electronics LG Refrigerator LFXS69730 Defective fridge LG refuses to fix

Purchased a LG Refrigerator LXS269730 From Home Depot delivered with defective door that does not close properly. Also purchased a 5 year extended warranted. Since day it was delivered about a month ago one of the french doors does not close. Called HD warantee they referred me to LG customer service. Neither Home Depot not LG will fix the problem they claim the Door is not covered under their warantee. So therefore LG will sell you a defective appliance and refuse to fix if it's defective. After the Fridge was delivered we were away for a few weeks and could not call either HD or LG to repair or replace the appliance. Spent 2 days and a few hours getting the runaround from LG. Beware of LG warantee. Spent thousands of dollars on brand new defective appliance.

Desired outcome: Repair the faulty parts on brand new Refridgerator.

Reached out as requested on Facebook. Did not get any response. Useless LG support. I purchased this refrigerator to replace an 7 year LG old that every year it circuit card in freezer with fans to circulate cold air had to be replaced. After my 5 year warranty ended had to pay for last time out of pocket so this year after it broke again replaced it with new one and am I mad that this brand new fridge has problems LG will not respond and fix.

I believe you may have mistyped the model.

Any fridge, that has a door not sealing properly, would suffer with inconsistent temperatures. Therefore, such functionality is absolutely important.

It is important that the fridge remains level left to right but tilted back slightly for the doors to automatically close.

LG Electronics Refrigerator model# LMXS28626S

Compressor unit has quit, have talked to customer service numerous times, given 3 service companies to call. No one wanted to come repair unit. Called LG again told me they had to locate someone through Service Pro, repair given to Technical Appliance who called me and said they were not taking LG jobs at the present time. Called LG who told me they would forward to locater service which will take 3 -5 days to get back to me. In the mean time we're living out of a cooler. Refrigerator is only 3.5 years old and for $2800 it should last a heck of a lot longer. Serial # 804TRJL1K500.

Desired outcome: Repair refrigerator asap

It's been over 1 month since our refrigerator broke down and it is still broken and we're still living out of coolers. LG has scheduled several companies to fix it but all have cancelled before the schedule date claiming they are not currently working on LG compressor issues. It's the same old runaround every time I speak to them.

We had a local company come in, they said compressor is bad and because it’s a closed system the whole compressor system needs to be replaced. $1500 - $2500 but they don’t do it for some reason. Only have manufacturers warranty

That's an extremely nice unit. LG has a fantastic reputation for many of their appliances. Unfortunately, I wouldn't put that kind of money into the unit to have it serviced. You'd be better to replace it, even if it was the exact same model. One suggestion I would make is to provide enough breathing room around the fridge to allow your compressor to breath. Through government requirements, compressors have become much smaller over the years. If you don't allow for enough breathing room, the appliance can have the exact problem you're now dealing with.

Mr. Helpful, you state "Through government requirements, compressors have become much smaller over the years." Can you provide documentation for this? And exactly how does the government requirement to build smaller compressors result in inexcusably short life-spans for such an expensive product?

Here is what LG's manual for the product states:

"Too small of a distance from adjacent items may result in lowered freezing capability and increased electricity consumption charges. Allow at least 24 inches (610 mm) in front of the refrigerator to open the doors, and at least 2 inches (50.8 mm) between the back of the refrigerator and the wall."

Yes, a certain clearance should be observed, but nothing about drastically decreased life spans. Even so manufacturers have ways to ensure a certain amount of air-flow even if consumers ignore the rules. In no way should a compressor on a $$$ product fail in such a short time.

Yes, government regulations have done a lot of damage, but they don't necessarily require corporations to build shoddy products that they won't provide service for.

I always find it interesting how you recommend people buy the same product that has been such a disappointment to them in the first place. But I am a little encouraged that in your slobbering praise of each and every company and product you shill for that you state: "LG has a fantastic reputation for many of their appliances."

So which LG products don't have a fantastic reputation, as I've never seen you do anything except heap praise on every other product ever made as you blame the consumer for every problem.

I'm going to also have you contact LG directly at [protected].

There was a relatively basic issue that LG had many years ago related to a small spring, I believe, in some of their compressors. If you'll have both your model number and serial number on hand, it may fall within that category and LG will cover the cost of repair.

Let us know if there's still any issues not being addressed.

LG Electronics 55C6P TV OLED burn in

I complained in late Nov or early Dec 2021 re image retention on my TV & was told to perform panel noise cleaning steps 2 times a day for 5 days in a row & then call back which I did & told LG tech that the problem was no better. Darius of the Complaints Dept then told me that even though my TV was out of warranty as a one time courtesy LG would replace the OLED module in my TV but I would have to pay for the panel to be installed. A local TV repair shop called to tell me LG had called his shop about installing the part & he would call me back when part came in. A few minutes later he called to tell me the part was no longer available. I think that under the circumstances LG should offer at least a 50% discount/rebate toward a new LG C2 TV. Thank you.

Desired outcome: 50% discount off a new LG C2 TV.

LG Electronics LFXS28596S French Door Refrig/Freezer

UPDATE - NOW GOING ON MONTH 5. No repair, no replacement and in order to get a refund I have to dispose of the unit at MY expense and do the following before I would get a refund:

follow ALL of the following steps:

1. Please remove the manufacturer’s ORIGINAL label showing the Model and Serial number. It can be found on the inside/back of the unit.

2. Affix the ORIGINAL label to this letter and send to LG Electronics using the FedEx prepaid shipping label.

3. Make a copy of this letter and your ORIGINAL label for your records

Please note: Your payment cannot be processed until we have received this signed document with labels from you.

You also acknowledge that you have agreed to properly dispose of this unit after returning the manufacturer’s model/serial number label to LG Electronics. (Not paid for by LG)

Desired outcome: Replace item in full or reimburse in FULL to include the cost of having someone pick up the unit and dispose of.

LG Electronics Customer service

I contacted LG about a missing light bulb in my freezer when my new refrigerator was delivered on 3/2/22.

That was a month ago. I still haven't had a response. When I look up the repair receipt number, it is listed as still pending.

Unable to speak to a person, only automated responses the direct me to the repair lookup page on their website.

It is a new refrigerator so the bulb should still be available. This should be a simple repair.

Desired outcome: I'd like my light bulb installed. At least a response as to why it's still pending.

LG Electronics Exploding cellphone battery

On the 8 of April 2022 around 8pm my friend was having trouble with his cellphone and I told him to remove the battery to reset it.Upon his attempt the cellphone blewup in his hand hitting me on the back with a flaming projectile and falling to my apartment floor burning two holes on my floor and both inhaled black smoke that filled my apartment.i have pictures of the damages and the exploded battery.I noticed after the happening that on the back of the cellphone is a red colored attention notice that states please charge your battery for at least 5 hours before using your phone.And on a little white tag below it in tiny black letters states non removable battery.Your product should have a visable do not open in large red letters or the word Danger.

Desired outcome: Pay for the damages to repair my apartment floor and a reasonable monatary amount for pain and suffering.

LG Electronics Refrigerator not cooling. Model: LFCS25663S

March 11, 2022- called Canada Support 1-888 number they could not assist us and gave us a service ticket number. After 3 weeks and numerous calls we were contacted by Max a Prorate team from 1-256 number he left us a message to call back. We called back and the person who answered doesn't know Max and cannot assist us. Spoke with Briunna she took our information and asked for us to send some info. via a text to a 1-256 number... she advised would call back. I sent the info last Thursday (same day we spoke with her) and today is Monday evening. No call... I also contacted Lowes where we bought the fridge back on March 10, 2018, been having nothing but troubles with them as well. I purchased a 4 year warranty. I am about fed up! Can someone please do something about this fridge. We have been without a fridge for a month now.

Desired outcome: I don't know just a part to fix it, a refund or a replacement. Also an apology for having been left in the dark, with no information. If this fridge is not covered at least let us know. (although I believe it is covered)

Being outside of the extended warranty period, there is no use to bring the retailer into this.

Preferably, you want to contact someone in your area that is an authorized LG service provider. You can find such service here:

Contact a local service provider directly. They should be able to provide any necessary repairs.

LG Electronics Refrigerator

The unit id 4 years old. It started not cooling in January. The repair.

man came out and said it needed a new compressor. Two weeks later he came back and installed it. Two weeks after that it started not cooling again. The repair man came back and said the unit was leaking freeon inside the. unit and could not be fixed. I contacted LG and they said they had no information about that from the repair man. I was right there when he told them it could not be fixed on the phone. I contacted LG several more times on the phone and they said they needed to send out a repair man to make sure the unit can not be fixed. The unit has a 5 year warrantee and I want a new unit.

Hi Mr Rotella.

Generally, before a replacement is considered, service needs to attempt three different repairs. Don't confuse this with three separate visits. Each repair attempt can take one visit to diagnose and another visit to service.

The best thing you can do is keep documentation with each visit. Have the service tech write out a receipt to document what has taken place.

After a third service that doesn't result in a successful repair, you're in a much better position to request a replacement.

Please keep us informed of you're not properly taken care of.

LG Electronics LG Dishwasher Model LDF554ST

I have an LG dishwasher that I purchased from Home Depot in 2020. They also installed it. Last year, I had to replace the control panel. Within the last week, I have had an HE error after I run the cycle. When I opened the white plastic casing in the back of the dishwasher, I found burned and melted wires. I reached out to LG through their chat and was told that my dishwasher was no longer under warranty. I asked how I could file a claim because this is a faulty product and not necessarily a warranty issue. Within 2 years, I have had to spent hundreds of dollars on repairs for this dishwasher.

Desired outcome: I would like to hear from LG and I would like them to offer a refund for this defective dishwasher.

Im experiencing the exact same problem with my LG Truesteam Dishwasher and all LG does is shrug their shoulders. The client can carry the loss for their design flaws. Pathetic!

I'd like to assist where I can.

Melted wires can be an indication of many things; one such cause can be an improper electrical fluctuation. Because the manufacturer cannot control the condition of the power being used to run the unit, consumers are sometime surprised to learn such damage may not be covered even if the range does occur under the warranty timeframe.

Thankfully, retailers do offer additional programs that can cover such damage — and even for lengthier periods of time.

Check with The Home Depot to determine if your unit falls under such a service.

LG Electronics Unit not cooling

Purchased the LG ThinQ LFXS28596S refrigerator brand new in the end of Dec '21. Upon installing found it was not cooling properly, wouldn't get down to the set temp in either refrig or freezer. Have contacted Service numerous times. Appointment was set for a month out. Finally the day came & the repairman's car broke down so it had to be rescheduled ANOTHER month. Both times the entire contents had to be emptied.

Repairman came & said he fixed the problem, but upon filling the refrig/freezer back up it was not fixed. SO again I contacted LG service who keeps me they are waiting to hear back from a service person to schedule. Now that has been over a month! I have had this new refrig for now 3 mos and it hasn't worked and hasn't been able to be used, but taking up space in my kitchen. Luckily I have my old refrig/freezer still hooked up in my garage to use.

I really was hoping to get this resolved with LG but after 3 months with no resolution at all, I don't what to do. I have been told this last month that they are just waiting for a response from someone to do service. I have never had this poor service on any other product in my life. I have now used up 3 months of my warranty and have gotten nothing.

Desired outcome: Please refund or have someone repair my faulty unit within a week. I don't think it should take over 3 months to get resolution of purchase of a new item that doesn't work.

I have provided all of that information already. Still 4 months later I am STILL trying to get it either fixed, replaced or refunded. Now I'm being told I you will refund my money but I have to take off the sticker w the serial number, mail it in and dispose of myself and then AFTER doing all of that...I will receive my refund check. Not really legitimate in my opinion. I would NOT consider buying an LG Refrigerator ever again. Completely brand new product, under warranty and going on 5 months soon to never have it working properly.

I'd like to assist.

That's an extremely nice fridge. How far off is the fridge from its set temperature? It's possible to have very slight variations. Without you being specific, however, it's difficult to say.

If you'll contact the retailer you purchased the unit through, they can get return authorization (RA) and simply exchange the unit for you.

Please let us know if that doesn't work.

Refrigerator has been off by about 10 degrees. Freezer not sure but when we had items in there was liquid. I have provided all of my contact information already. LG Electronics Refrigerator

1 month after purchasing my refrigerator it started to build up frost after 3 service calls with the door and rubber seal replaced I was told that the particular lot of refrigerator was in correctly stacked in the warehouse which caused the frame to bend and it can not be repaired. They also said that the unit would be replaced, 4 times over the last 2 months lg has texted me with an appointment for the following day, each time I called to verify someone was coming which they confirmed never happened. My husband and I both work in healthcare and is very hard to take time off work and wait around for nothing. This nightmare has been going on since January and every time they request something from me after I send it they request it again. I have asked several times for the address of corporate to send a letter and no one seems to have it. Meanwhile the frost has taken over my freezer to where it does not freeze anymore.

Desired outcome: Do what they said they would. Replace the appliance’

No question you should be able to depend on what you've been told.

Do you have this guarantee of exchange in writing? Hopefully so. Can you forward that information here?

Normally, within that short of timeframe, the retailer will handle the exchange from their own inventory and return the unit with an RA (return authorization) supplied by the manufacturer.

LG Electronics Refrigerator went completely out after having it only for 3 years. The refrigerator is not longer cooling.

My husband I purchase a brand new LG refrigerator a little over 3 years ago. About a month ago the compressor and blower went out (March 10,2022). We have been without a refrigerator for over 3 weeks or better. We have loss all of our food which total up to about $300 dollars or more.

The LG representatives have scheduled an appointment for us with a LG technician who has supposedly been riding around with the parts in his truck since March 22,23 and 24, 2022. The technician Maurice never arrived. I spoke with a supervisor and he reassured me that Maurice is schedule and will come out. I was also told that the representative has no way of complicating with the technician, which I know that is a lie.

My husband spoke with another LG technician on March 24, 2022 and an appointment was set up with A and E appliances in Savannah, ga for April 13, 2022. My husband called today (March 29, 2022) to see if the technician was still schedule to come out on the date as stated previously and was told that the schedule appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for April 27, 2022. This has been one of the worst experience when dealing with LG. We have a ten years warrant in which it seems like that does not mean anything to LG corporation.

I have reached out to LG president per their protocol about a little a week ago and has need heard anything or received an email in reference to this serious problems. I am trying to find out what will be our next options. We do not have that type of money to waste on an Applicance which is suppose to be the number one product on the market.

LG Electronics LG Refrigerator

On a 3 year old refrigerator, the water filter caused a leak throughout the refrigerator, Water throughout the entire unit and on the floor. In working with LG, the housing unit needed to be replaced. Spent $350 Labor & parts to repair and had the same problem. LG defuncted the refrigerator in December 2021. To date, still waiting for my refund from LG an had to buy a refrigerator which I has been out of pocket since LG has never sent me a check. Oh yes, multiple Return Authorizations have been given and magically, LG closes them. Been in touch with the President's office since the end of December with no satisfaction. You wait hours on the phone and are told it's this department, no let me transfer you the right department, no we don't handle that so let me transfer you again. It takes hours to find a person to speak with since their communication mechanism is simply to text you. If you don't respond that day, they close your case. Now in month 5 and have wasted over 60 hours trying to resolve the matter. In shopping for the replacement refrigerator at Mom & Pop stores, they have the same experience and do not carry LG Products.

Desired outcome: PAY ME THE MONIES WHICH I HAVE IN WRITING FROM YOU! The leak caused me to lose all the food in the freezer since it iced over depict from m the leak. It took 3 weeks for LG to send a service person to replace the housing unit which failed.

LG Electronics Error Code On Fridge CL E

I called and spoke with a CSR on 3/20 after running diagnostic for error code on fridge, was suppose to get a call in 24 hours no call! called again on 3/22 and was told the repair requested was kicked back to customer service, CSR sent another request for fridge to be repaired again suppose to get a call in 24 hours, I get a call to from LG asking me what the error code on my fridge is? really its in the notes! this fridge is a 1 1/2 years old it should not be having problems I spent good money for it and all I am getting from LG is the run around. apparently there is no one in my area (Columbus Oh) to fix the fridge thats what I am being told by CSR.

I believe I can be of assistance.

After the first year, LG provides a limited, part only warranty on the compressor. Who you contact will depend on warranty coverage.

If you've purchased additional warranty coverage through your retailer, you'll want to contact them first. They'll provide you with assistance on getting the unit fixed.

If it's not under an extended warranty, contact Applianceman Service. Their phone number is [protected] and can be reached after 8:30 tomorrow morning. They should be able to take care of the issue with little hassle.

LG Electronics LG Refrigerator

On 3/15/2022 I had an LG Service repairman at my home to fix my LG Refrigerator, Model # LFX28978ST. The ice maker and freezer stopped working without warning spoiling over $100 of food in my freezer. I decided to pay the $132.50 service fee, (non-refundable), for LG service since I trust the competency of LG. Up to this point in time I haven't had any issues with my refrigerator. Upon arrival, the LG serviceman immediately indicated I had a refrigerator where the compressor had problems. Sure enough, my refrigerator needed a compressor. However, according to the repairman the refrigerator couldn't be repaired since he could update the motherboard or replace the motherboard since it was unavailable, and couldn't guarantee I wouldn't have issues soon after the repair. Much to my surprise he said I needed a new refrigerator. I just can't believe spending thousands of dollars for a relatively new refrigerator and being told to get a new one which will only last 8 years. My understanding there has been a class action lawsuit regarding the LG compressors.

Desired outcome: I would respectfully request a refund for the service fee, along with an allowance for the spoiled food. If there are incentives to purchase a refrigerator I would appreciate receiving. Thank you in advance for your consideration

LG creates a wonderful line of appliances. Their fridges are some of the best in the market.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of Covid, many companies are heaving issues with keeping up for the demand of parts.

Many retailers offer additional service packages that will cover the cost of replacing your unit. Contact the one you purchased the fridge through. You may be pleasantly surprised as to what they can do for you.

LG Electronics LG Dishwasher LDF5545ST

We purchased the dishwasher 7/08/19 in the amount of $533.16.

On January 10, 2022 the pump casing assembly failed.

It still functioned but very loud. We could not afford to have an appliance repair person come and out to repair.

My husband ordered the part which cost $222.29 and followed you tube instructions as to how to replace the part.

LG manufactures cheap parts guaranteed to fail.

We just had to spend $3,000.00 to replace a 3 year old Kenmore Elite Refrigerator with an LG compressor.

Any appliance or appliances with LG parts should be banned, appliances should be manufactured to last longer than 3 years.

Desired outcome: I would like to see LG either start repairing appliances free of charge that have inferior parts.The most important is to warn other consumers to stay away from anything LG unless than can do repairs or can afford to be ripped off.

i TOTALLY AGREEE. we purchased a new LG dishwasher in March 2020, and in April the complete dishwasher went black. Major appliances should last more than 2 years. I will not be purchasing another LG dishwasher.

The complete dishwasher became black? The color should have nothing to do with the function.

For the most part LG no longer support the basic black or white though, unless it's really entry level. Everything else is either stainless or what is referred to as black stainless. Is that what you have?

LG makes some great products; it's frustrating, though, when one has issues before you might expect. It can happen with any brand, as anyone browsing this site can attest to.

It might be a good idea to check with the retailer you've purchased the items through. Many offer additional service programs that will cover such problems.
