LabCorp Environmental condition of lab at 1703 s broad st., phila. Pa. 19148

My daughter, Mara Goldberg, went for bloodwork, on Monday August 3, 2020 at LAbcor, 1703 S. Broad St. Suite 200, Phila. Pa 19148
She had to give a urine specimen in the bathroom. She was shocked by the uncleanliness of the room; dirt on floor, toilet full and dirty etc. She said something and was not well received. This is totally unacceptable for a medical lab! I would like to know that someone is cleaning and or inspecting the place. You can contact me at ; [protected]@verizon.net

My daughter is a teacher and could not take action as quickly as I.

LabCorp Covid protocols, inefficiencies

Long lines in tiny hallway, no social distancing possible with 20+ people stacked up, no one going out to open areas and calling people in which causes everyone to stack up in a tiny hallway. Inefficient check in process, asking for insurance card after already having card on file, along with credit card on file and insurance information on blood order paperwork. Let's just waste lots of time while people are unable to social distance in the crowded hallway! This is really in violation of covid protocols. Get your act together and have people wait in their cars and get a call to come in when a small number of people can be managed rather than jammed together. What is going on? Why would a lab violate covid protocols? This is just completely wrong! If I come down with covid, I know this facility is to blame!

LabCorp Inadequate staffing

I went to a Tacoma labcorp and both times had to wait over an hour because there's was only one health tech who was also doing all admin work. She apologized repeatedly for the wait but with 9 patients waiting to be seen, she was in over her head. Apparently a part time assistant comes after 11. This is the 3rd time I've seen it this way. I don't blame the professional behind the desk, I blame the CEO and project managers that continue to do more with less. For a public company on the NYSE, we deserve much better.

LabCorp Wrong blood specimen collected

On June 16, 2020 I went to LabCorp @ 601 E. Hampden Ave. Suite 340, Englewood, CO 80113 for pre employment blood titers, a quantiferon lab test and a urine drug screen test. I had the required paperwork with the list of titers and quantiferon selected. I checked in and my blood was drawn. When my employer called for the results - my CBC and chemistry panel results were sent. The titers and quantiferon were not drawn. Somehow the completely wrong tests were drawn and done. This mistake was discovered June 23, 2020. I went back right away on June 23 to the same LabCorp with the same requisition, explained the situation and had my blood redrawn. I was due to start my job June 29, 2020. I was told by the phlebotomist at LabCorp the titers will result right away and the quantoferon takes 3-5 days. I said this could be a problem for me starting June 29, could they please send the quantiferon right away since they made the mistake and now everything is delayed one week. She assured me yes, this would be done. Well, it is now July 5th and the quantiferon test is still not complete. I have called LabCorp CSR every day since the results did not post June 29. Every day I get a different story. I have a record of the calls and hopefully you do, too. Today the CSR, Melanie, told me the specimen was not received until June 30 due to shipping delays and it will take 4-5 days to result. Meantime, I have lost this week's wages and have incurred rent and living expenses. I will likely lose next week's wages and possibly my entire contract. I believe LabCorp violated HIPAA by sending the wrong test results to my employer. Please investigate this mistake. I want to know what happened, how it happened, and what is being done to make sure it does not happen again. I want to know what you can do to compensate my lost wages. I want you to understand the inconvenience this mistake has caused me, my family, my employer, and the hospital where I should be working. I should be working taking care of patients and I would be, had this mistake not happened. I understand the workload covid19 has placed on the healthcare system. It is no excuse for the mistake and cascade of events that occurred.
I await your response.

LabCorp Lack of covid-19 practices

I stopped by the LabCorp location located at 4323 N Josey Ln Suite 200B, Carrollton, TX 75010; Phone: [protected] on yesterday, Friday, May 1, 2020 around 3:30 pm.

The Tech was not wearing any PPE: No gown, no mask. He did not have gloves on when he opened up needle package or before he started to touching my arm to fine a viable vein. I had to actually ask if he was going to put on gloves. I witnessed no sanitizing of hands after use of the computer and before putting on gowns.

No social distancing. One woman came in for blood drawn while I was there. Her male friend was back in the "exam room" with here. Neither had on mask. Tech had on mask. So scary.

No antibacterial in bathroom or paper towels to use after leaving urine sample.

No clear, COVID-19 info once you go back to the back. How often are they sanitizing. Clearly the tech didn't care about his job or potentially exposing patients to coronavirus. If he's not masked up, how do we know that he's an asymptomatic carrier.

Went to the LabCorp location at 4323 N. Josey Lane, Suite 200 in Carrollton. I had 3 different doctors order in the system upon arrival plus I bought another order with me. The tech was unable to find a viable vein so he said come back on Monday.

I ended up going to another LabCorp location the next day at Medical City -7777 Forest Lane. Upon arrival 2 of the 3 orders were no longer in the system. They could not find. I was told that apparently the Tech did not cancel the order. Now I'm having to call 2 of the 3 doctors and request that they resend to LabCorp. No record in their system of my visit on May 1st.

I had intentionally wait to go to LabCorp until I had all my Dr's orders so that I would not have to go multiple times. Now I'm having to do just that.

LabCorp Employees littering the streets while eating lunch

The labcorp at 1904 TW Alexander in Durham. The employees at this location as we know are not allowed to smoke on the company properties. So they go across the street to Roch Dr. and smoke and eat there lunch and litter our newly built community and the city of Durham's sidewalks. This does not give us a good impression of Labcorp employees. We, the people of the community that live across the street from Labcorp walk these sidewalks daily and witness the employees of Labcorp smoking and littering cigarette butts as well as there lunch garbage. We have witnesses and photos of them doing so. Can you please advice your employees to be respectful of our community, nature and the city of Durham and take there garbage with them. We will be sending a copy of this letter to the city of Durham as well!

LabCorp waiting time and lab tech

Waited in a small waiting room, patients having to stand outside, my wait time was over two hours, two lab techs and supervisor working check in desk. Lab tech attempting to draw blood talked too much, she stuck me twice without results finally supervisor came in and was able to hit vein first try. I've been a Nurse for 35 yrs. I know about finding a vein, your staff needs more training. Too many elderly people with walkers no place for them to sit down people having to step over them, people with O2 tanks everywhere, everyone on their cells phones talking extremely loud. I've been going to Lab Corp for years but after todays experience I'm done, I will find another lab.

LabCorp employee's behavior w/an epileptic patient

I know discrimination is illegal against those with medical disabilities, but I felt Miss Munoz, an employee at the Savannah Labcorp, needed to be reported after the mistreatment I received December 9th. I realize that not everyone understands epilepsy, but her behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to me, as she was laughing at me during a focal epileptic seizure loudly to other patients and other techs (my seizures greatly impair my speech and ability to talk, so she couldn't understand me and asked the entire waiting room what I was saying — still laughing, but also angry this time — which was humiliating). Then she angrily yelled at me because my postictal recovery phase causes confusion and I didn't understand her directions (literally all I did was initial my specimen with a marker instead of a pen and she asked if "I was stupid because a pen was laying right there." She also yelled at me for taking too long washing my hands, when my seizures distort my sense of time. I did not mean to be rude and do so.
Ms. Munoz then had me go back out and wait 30 more minutes because I couldn't pee after being humiliated + all of my muscles tense up during a seizure. She became frustrated at how confused I was and how my speech was because she assumed I was just on drugs and not having a epileptic seizure, a medical condition. I wanted to explain that I simply had epilepsy, but I could not do so in a way that she could understand me because my words came out jumbled and slightly slurred and it only seemed to irritate her more.
I left the lab humiliated and in tears.
I absolutely do not want anyone to endure anything like this, so please, someone speak to Miss Munoz about this incident, or at least educate her on epilepsy. Patients with medical disabilities such as epilepsy should be understood, not punished and bullied for things beyond their control.

Labcorp: Staff's Unethical Behavior Put my Life at Risk as well

The lab tech, Ms. Munoz, also told me I was not allowed to go outside and get my mother who is my emergency contact labeled on my medic alert bracelet for epilepsy. My mother would have been able to explain what was going on to the tech during the seizure and brought my seizure medication that my neurologist prescribed to abort my seizures because half the time my seizures escalate to secondary generalized tonic clonic seizures sending me to the ER in status epilepticus and/or through flat lining. I was prevented from treating an emergency medical condition simply because the lab tech was uneducated about the different ways epilepsy can manifest. The tech thought drugs were the reason my speech was impaired, as I mentioned earlier, but the results of my test are already back and each result tested negative. I don't know if corporate will take this incident seriously or what I should do.

LabCorp dropping off specimen

Lab Corp - 2401 Eveham Rd. in Voorhees, NJ. I attempted to drop off a specimen of my husbands at about 7:40 AM on December 2nd. I did not have his drivers license. All of the information needed was in the bag with the urine specimen. I was told that I MUST put his information in the computer. I told the clerk that I was on my way to work and had limited time. She did not seem to care. There was only 1 person in the waiting room. I asked for some assistance. She was very rude and abrupt. I had to leave. My husband had to travel to my work a half an hour away to get the specimen and take it to Lab Corp. Perhaps a better system needs to be put in place, especially for people dropping off a specimen, etc. Also, some customer service training may need to be reviewed. I will not be returning to this facility due to their lack of customer service.

Still waiting for instructions to use the specimen kit I picked up 4 days ago. By now that solution is probably bad. But how would I know. There were no instructions on whether to refrigerate before or after and for how long, whether to stir or not, how long it stays good, where to drop it off, etc. And there's no way to contact them, which is the bigger problem. They don't respond to forms on their own portal. I've filled them out 3 times now. You can't reach them as there is no customer phone number that is not just a recording. They don't even have a Twitter support option. Simply irresponsible and potentially harmful, given that you take these tests to determine if there is a dangerous health condition involved.

LabCorp hours

I made an appointment online for Thurs Nov 14 at 415 in the afternoon. Website & phone confirm these hours. I showed up for my appointment on time to find a note on the door that they now close at 4 on Thursday. No phone call was made to cancel my appointment. This is very inconvenient for people who work. I left work early to make this appointment

LabCorp urine pre employment testing.

The doctor called and said my urine was positive for marijuana in September but my obgyn told me i was not positive for marijuana in August. Im 13wks pregnant and take a urine screen once a month at my prenatal visits. And was never found to have any drugs in my system. They also use lab corp. So i dont under stand how I tested positive at this location. I lost out on a very excellent job offer because of this. What can I do to resolve this manner..? I'm very embarrassed because I've never used drugs . And also I was tested today 9/ 27/ 19.

LabCorp complaint about a employee who has no knowledge of how to act in a professional setting or practice basic safety procedures on patients

A woman phlebotomist at this location shows no medical professionalism. I have witnessed her argue repeatedly with co workers in front of patients. The people she argues with try to defuse the situation reminding her this is a work setting and she refuses to listen and continues to argue at a loud volume. She does not follow basic phlebotomy guidelines. She has re stuck a patient twice with the same needle. If she did it once I'm sure shes done it before. Every phlebotomist knows you discard the needle to do a second stick. She draws the wrong tubes and has to call the patient back and have to get stuck AGAIN cause of her error. Which should never happen because the computer clearly shows which tubes to draw. She pours over blood into other tubes to collect the desired amount however she over pours it pass the fill line and it almost caused contamination in the centrifuge because the top popped off prior to spinning. She on a daily basis mislabeled the tubes mixing up a lavender label on a gel tube and vice versa. She has been with the company for two years and still does not know basic computer skills. She does not know how to pull CORE orders. She does not know how to enter orders when brought in from another lab and this causes the front to get backed up with patients cause she cannot check in people quickly and refuses help. However when we offer help she gets very offended and refuses to accept the help or accept knowledge that will benefit her. It is to the point that the work place feels very hostile. This woman is very quick to see what you are doing and point out any flaws she feels is not up to standards and leaves everyone on eggshells due to the fact we have reported all her wrong doings I have stated to our supervisors about her lack of work ethic and continuous need to provoke arguements and her actions have gone undisciplined. I've been in the medical field for 15 years and this is by far the worst lack of action or care towards concerns and complaints from a job site. This woman has been removed from other labs associated with LABCORP due to the same behavior. Argumentative, rude, hostile, and lack of knowledge for phlebotomy. If she has to be moved from multiple labs for the same behavior what else does it take to realize this woman should not be representing LABCORP. The employees have voiced their concerns and complaints and events that have occurred from her arguements in front of patients to her using the SAME needle to re stick a patient to the supervisors. However no action has occurred. This behavior has been going on for months.

LabCorp blood draw

The medical technician improperly stuck me with a needle three (3) times in three (3) different locations and had trouble hitting well pronounced veins each time. She moved the needle around roughly and widely while under the skin unable to hit the vein. Eventually at the third site with much maneuvering and pain she was able to get sufficient blood. During this procedure she complained that the arm rest was positioned too high.
She caused severe bruising at two of the three sites which are still present four days later. Blood was taken on Thursday, 15 August 2019 at about 11:30 AM Eastern Time.
I complained to her. She understood my situation. I have blood taken every two months roughly for the past 10 years at this facility and have never had a problem of any kind. My veins are easy to hit and three vials are filled up in under 15 seconds total. She took 10 minutes.
She needs training and should never have been allowed to perform this operation. Please prevent her from injuring anyone else in the future. She is a very nice and concerned person with a pleasant personality and I feel bad to have to be mentioning her, however, for everyone's benefit she must be trained better before continuing 'practicing on patients.
Note that the attached two pictures of both left and right arms are a full four days since the incident.

LabCorp billing

My husband Jimmy Overton received a bill for $23.97 in March of this year. In April of this year (2019), I personally paid the bill electronnically. The payment was received and shown paid with Wells Fargo. A few months later, we get a letter from collections stating we we past due on this bill. I copied proof of payment from Wells Fargo and sent it to them. We then got a letter from LabCorp stating they cannot find the payment (even though they had proof it was paid). I again sent proof of payment - 3 times in all. Again we get a letter - my husband has multiple medical issues and this Labcorp mess was causing him much distress - so I sent a check because I 'm not sure LabCorp staff know how to hand electronic bill paying. Yesterday - guess what? We receive another notice from collections for - that same $23.97 that has now been paid twice and proof sent again today for the 4th time. Although it is only $23.97, the distress it is causing my husband will be the subject of our visit to an attorney if we receive anything else from LabCorp on this same $23.97

LabCorp billing and threats of collection due to improper submission of patient's health ins.

I was sent by my doctor to Labcorp for some ordered test he wanted. Upon my visit I presented both active health insurance cards, Medicare and TriCare for Life. This company has harrassed me about this bill by asking for doctor's diagnosis, my private and personal health care info. I gave them my doctor's address and phone number, and again fax them my active health insurance with picture ID. Then they sent me a letter saying I was being sent to collection for the bill. I have never had to pay for any lab test, I have been to Labcorp in the past, sent by other healthcare providers. I got a letter from them again, saying that my health insurance declined to pay. That was a lie, Medicare paid $33.22, and Tricare for Life has never been billed who is my secondary insurance under my spouse's military retirement. This service was way back on 8/25/18. I am not responsible for this bill until all insurance claims have been filed. Remove any collection info from my credit file because the info you have provided regarding this non-payment is false.

LabCorp service

Good afternoon I'm writing this complaint in reference to the African American young lady who worked at the front desk window. I came in this morning with my son to get some urine samples and blood drawn and she was very rude and basically told me I had to write my own name on urine samples in which I found very peculiar. She was very rude and unprofessional and as working at a company and being the face for a business place that behavior was unacceptable. I asked her for her name but she refused to give it to me so I kindly snapped a picture that I will enclose with this complaint. If you need any questions I can be reached at [protected] Mr.Manigo . Thank you

LabCorp regarding their rude staff!

Today I went for my Lab work. As soon as I entered it seemed like I entered in a Bar because I heard the staff was singing songs similar like Opera concert singing, atmosphere very unprofessional. When she saw me, she asked did you checked-in on that machine, I said "No" I don't know how to do it, She was African American.. She said it has instructions, then I was getting problem to do as it was first time for me, so I asked her and she came like an Obligation and then rudely telling me how to do it.
Please do the needful as it brings bad name for Labcorp.
Thanks!

LabCorp blood work

Hello I need someone from labcorp preferably a manager to contact me ASAP. I visited the location at 4401 s orange ave Orlando, Florida Monday 8th, 2019. My doctor sent me there for blood work. First of I was told they take my insurance when I got there they didn't and I have to pay out of my pocket $339.00. Unfortunately I had no choice I need the test done. Waited 2 hours even though I had an appointment. Then once I went back there the bathroom for my pee test was so dirty I covered seat with paper towels I wanted to vomit. Then I proceeded to the room I was told to go to. The lady taking my blood seemed unsure where to draw from she finally stuck me in my left arm. Pulled and shoved needle in and out. Kept lifting my arm up and using needle to lift my skin very painful. She couldn't find my vein. Then I heard her say "oh vein popped" I said what's that mean. " oh it's gonna be sore and bleed a lot for awhile. Awhile is a joke I couldn't move my arm it hurt so much and bleed a lot crying pain. After she pulled and lifted my skin so much she finished taking blood from my wrist which I told her not too but did anyway. Today is Saturday my arm is still sore and hurts and still bruised. I demand a refund or some type of refund. And I need to know what labcorp is going to do about her in experience acting like it's a normal everyday thing. I took pictures that I will talk to my lawyer about because this is ridiculous. I paid my money not anyone but me.

LabCorp drug testing urine sample

I went into Lab Corp for pre-drug testing. The staff was rude upon giving instructions, I went to the wrong window and one of the ladies yelled at me to go to a different window while pointing and when the testing was complete the staff member Burks slapped me in my chest with my papers and my id and said have a nice day in a rude tone of voice. Very unprofessional and rude. Lab Corp should care more about who is representing them or is this service all about the money. There needs to be an alternative service to give them some competition and then they would change their practices. Customer service is not important to them because they have no competitors for employers to get lab testing done.
