Dear reviewer,
My fiancé and I are the members of the LA fitness for 5 years. In the LA fitness at Cerritos address 10802 ALONDRA BLVD., CERRITOS, CA 90703, I complain the lady whose name Jasmine for very bad customer service and not consider customers' health. She has tried to confine many customers in the small dance room (compared to ratio of huge people working out in the room) by closing the doors. She says that the music is too loud. Well, we come to the Gym to exercise because we want to be healthy. Music is the motivation and we come here mostly just for Zumba dancing, but we cannot tolerate the doors being closed with different smells from people working out with a lot of sweat, farting, flu, coughing, sneezing inside the room. Even those with the air condition, it is still not enough to remove all smells from a huge people that are working out. When we work out hard like Zumba dancing, we produce a lot of heat and all smell from sweat, farting, flu, coughing etc… It is unhealthy if we breath in hard our own waste smells during workout. And again, we all come here because we want to be healthy but not want to get sick. It is very poor ventilation when the doors are closed with many workout people. I feel so uncomfortable when working out with being confined behind the door and subjected to all kinds of smells like that. Even though I explained to Jasmine who told herself as a manager there, but she does not care about it. She should not be in that position because she did not know what the healthy should be and she lacks knowledge about health, physiology... and especially, she is very bad customer service. She was together with the guy who works there that names Stevedore, to close the door despite of the complains of many customers whose were working out in the dancing room. I think the company should review her behavior and having an action because we don't want to pay and get treat like that.

LA Fitness International cancellation fee - barcode # f31883570

Hi team,

I have cancelled my membership with the club on feb 6, 2019 and I was informed in the reception that there will be no more further charges on my credit card.

I see my credit card being charged on feb 26th and march 26th again. I went to the club again today to inquire about the charges but I had to pay an additional amount of $55.37 for final cancellation.

If I was informed about this final cancellation charges on feb 06, 2019 I would have paid then but instead I had to pay two month additional charges. Initially when I was taking the membership, the lady informed me that there would not be any cancellation fee.

I feel a bit misinformed and disloyal about the situation and charges here. Is there anyway I can get the additional fee refunded.

I look forward to hear from you again.

LA Fitness International LA promotion

I received an email in Dec offering a 10% gift card offer for any gift cards purchased. I received the email confirming the $150 gift card, but never received the $15 gift card as promised. After calling and verifying all my credit card info, advised all was set. Weeks later, still no $15 gift card. Contacting LA Fitness once again which unfortunately resulted in days of calls, requests for me to submit proof of the offer (they never heard of it). I had to show proof.. you guys arent familiar with your own pormos? Really? It was absolutely painful. After 7 weeks, I received the gift card and was offered $1.61 in credit as a courtesy. Really $1.61? So insulting. For all the time I spent, I feel I should have gotten alot more in credit than that. I have been a member for 8 years and feel I was not treated well at all. I feel I was totally disrepected.

LA Fitness International customer service and cleanliness

Firstly, I've complained numerous times to management about the women's washroom and women's workout section being neglected. Two months later and I see the same dirtiness and nothing is done about the washrooms. It's disgusting.
Secondly, Kids Club has an employee who yelled and scared my child. She now cries and shakes with fear when she sees this employee. I was a few minutes late picking up my child from there and the manager "scolded" me, raising her voice at me saying she will cancel my membership next time it happens! Are you serious?
Lastly, every time I call there, someone answers in a rude manner and no "goodbye" at the end. They just hang up. This is a business that caters to customers. If you can't train your staff to keep customers then you shouldn't be in business.
For those reasons, I cancelled my membership and am taking 3 friends with me.

LA Fitness International personal training

I was told when I signed up that I could essentially pause the payment or change the due date at any given time. I was in the hospital so I tried to call in enough time (little over a week) prior to payment coming out for both the gym and training sessions. 2 days later I still had not received a response to my messages so I called yet again and got to speak to the manager who seemed to be annoyed by my request. She blatantly lied about my contract stating that I must give 10 days to make any change. This is NO WHERE in the contract per my attorney and several others I've had read it just to make sure. I have been very sick and lost work. She refused to help me and it caused quite the disaster because she was to lazy to be bothered. I have since been unable to use any training sessions due to the difficulty and pain required to use my hands and I was informed by my trainer that unless I pay half which is over 2K there is nothing they will do about the membership. My health issues are severe and making life complicated as a single mother and I have to deal with LA fitness who blew a bunch of smoke up my rear to get me to sign. Its my fault for not having a magnifying glass to read all the pages but I suppose I expected honesty and what I got was a bunch a lying sales people just looking to make money. Very Sad . I wouldn't recommend LA fitness to anyone for any reason whatsoever. Your cheats. So now Im not exactly sure what to do. Ive paid 2 months since then knowing I cant go. Its killing us financially.

LA Fitness International personal training sessions

I signed up for 6-months of personal training sessions. I paid $252.00 per monthly (totaling $1, 512.00) which worked out to be 1 session a week, plus 2 bonus sessions. I was placed with a trainer who was able to help with mobility issues, so going to another random, inexperienced trainer didn't seem like a smart option in my mind. Due to scheduling conflicts, vacations, and life, between BOTH my trainer and myself, at the end of the 6 months - I had 12 sessions left over. Which I had every intention of using. Except they apparently expire after you end your contract. (I had written a letter, asking that I was able to use my sessions, with no more monthly payments - why would I continue to pay when I've already dropped $1, 500 and still have sessions remaining) They said everything was taken care of and there was no expiry date issued when I had originally sent in the extension request (October 2018). Now, December 4th, they are giving me until January 1st, 2019. Keep in mind they are closed a few days over the holidays. The trainer I was using only works Monday-Thursday and not available during a convenient time for myself (I am a single mom, my daughter has bedtime at 7pm during school nights) and I am away for two weeks on Christmas vacation starting December 18, 2018.

I don't know what kind of free time most parents have, but 12 sessions in 20 days is impossible. I've also mysteriously lost 3-5 sessions. My trainer has record of them via screenshots, going from 15, down to 11 sessions now. I've paid $1, 500+, lost 12 sessions. So I see two options available; allow me to use the 12 sessions (which is preferred) or I will take a refund of 3 months.

LA Fitness International kids klub closing after multiple complaints

I have been a member at the Kitchener location for 20 plus years. Even before it turned into an LA Fitness, when it was Family Fitness. I've been taking my son to the kids club for 7 years. In that time they have had multiple changeovers with staff, none of the toys have ever been replaced or improved, the hours went from being twice a day down to a four-hour window in the evening. They cut care on Fridays and Sunday so I can't even bring my son to the gym on those days. Yet they kept the $10 a month fee the same. There have been multiple times I have shown up and there's been no kids club staff even scheduled to work so the personal trainers have had to go in there and watch my son. I filed multiple complaints with the operations manager Stephanie, who did not get back to me. Last month I went in and the janitor was watching the children! While the actual kids club employee was at the front desk swiping people in. Was told that he had to work the front desk because Stephanie, the operations manager, would not let the janitor work the front desk. How they think it's okay for him to watch children in the kids club is beyond me then. So I filed another complaint and did not receive a call back from the operations manager. Surprise surprise! Then I went into the gym last night and I found out now they're closing the kids club entirely. Effective November 11th, 2018 there will be no more kids club. They didn't even give two weeks notice. On top of that, I was advised by employees that the person who made the decision said he doesn't care if he loses a bunch of families. Yet they have a zillion personal trainers standing around doing nothing. There's at least five children that go there on a regular basis, but apparently it's too expensive for the corporate business to pay one employee 4 hours a day 5 days a week. It's bad enough they don't even have daycare on Fridays or Sundays, now they're getting rid of it entirely. Last Friday night when I went into the gym, the head personal trainer had his own four year old daughter running around freely in the trainers area while his girlfriend was off in the weights working out. How is he allowed to have his daughter running around? Extremely unprofessional. So as a long-term member of this gym, who now has to go somewhere else and find a club that actually has daycare, I'm infuriated. Not only that, management refuses to get back to me or address these concerns. How the company thinks they are going to stay afloat when they are closing and limiting services is beyond me. But I find it extremely unprofessional and CHEAP!

LA Fitness International canceling process

this is the worst experience i had with a company in my life. upon registration, the process is normal and you may register and provide the credit to be debited.
but as you ask for registration, there is a process not to process your request. you need to enter in to your account, print a request and receive a comment that you will be charged for one more month and during this period, mail ( a ridiculous approach to find a way to charge more ) or go in person to fit ness manager to deliver the request.
then you may need to wait till you receive EMAIL! confirming the request.
i personally went to gym and the guy told me you need to come before 5 PM!, means leave your work early just to deliver your request !
i did so, and i was told wait for confirmation email. i didnot got the email but i got the extra on more month charge.
again i send an email to customer service and still on this cheating process to cancel .

LA Fitness International miami gardens, fl location discriminate

I am very disgusted with the continuos treatments at the Miami Gardens location. Months ago friend of mine were been discriminated due to color. They filled a complaint and nothing. Today as a team we reserved the raquetball court. We were wearing Zumba shoes, ballroom shoes, jazz shoes, they have suede as a sole. No rubber like sneakers, no rawhide sole like most shoes, just very soft suede which mimics socks. We were told to leave the room. Dancing is a fitness some studios provide Zumba as a class. But its not allowed in the raquet ball. Why i rented the room if thats how i want to utilize my time in the room why is it forbidden. Why discriminate towards us because of our shoes. Its allowed in the fitness room and not the raquet ball. When its the same flooring. The mánager threatend to remove me from the raquet ball room and i told him to call the police because if i reserved a room i was not going to leave. He threatend to Cancel my membership. This is how customers should be treated? There is nothing in your raquet ball policy that states no zumba/dancing allowed. If i reserve it i should be allowed to utilize it. I feel so disrespected in the manner i was approached.

LA Fitness International personal training

To whom it may concern . Last week around aug 28 I signed for personal training at your broadview il facility. I was already for silver sneaker. I feel like the person was rushing me into the contract with me and became very confused and kept telling him that I thought that my husband not want me to do that. So when I said I changed my mind he if my husband did not like I could come back and cancel my contract. I did read the contract right away, but if forgive this contract please let me out of it I would greatly appreciate it since I am on fixed income of social security of a small income. I really feel like I was taken of advantage by your personal . I am 68 years old and I feel like I have been taken advantage of I have called and went to the center to reach out and keep getting different answers. Can you please help . LA Fitness International staff is not responding and not answering back

I go to LA Fitness in Glenview IL and i am a member there since 2015. I also made my cousins join the club and the sales rep Syed and Operations manager mark said I'll get 1000 points to redeem my stainless steel water bottle but now they don't answer my phone they don't respond and everytime I catch them they make excuses thats its in process and all that [censored]. Its been 2 months and still they do the same thing they just lie to get you into the club and then they act like idiots.

LA Fitness International hot tub (east-west conn branch)

I visit your facility approximately once a week. Three weeks ago, however, I got an infection from your hot tub.
My daughter had warned me about this almost a year ago. Unfortunately, I brushed it off and ask the people
at the front desk to please clean. I have a doctors appointment for this infection, as it has lasted for about
weeks now. Please see to it that it's cleaned more than 'so-called' once a week.

LA Fitness International zumba class fawn coats

This is in regards to class that took place on 9/13 approx 06:50 P.M. The instructor has a group of friends who come randomly, they always bully people who want to participate in the front, this one particular friend Julianna made fun of a woman and talked about her with other people in the class. The lady went to ask Julianna are you talking about me? She chuckled and said yes, causing the lady to go into Rage wanting to FIGHT as Julianna still taunted the woman and laughed stating I want you to put your hands on me you will go to jail. The woman was escorted out and Julianna bragged around about bullying this individual. The instructor Fawn Coats laughed not once informing her friend she was wrong. I pay a monthly membership and for Julianna to bully someone and the instructor ignore it must end immediately. It proceeded to get worst as class started I was dancing in the front as I always do and Julianna got into my personal space and when I asked if she could move over she said NO giving face gestures to her other friends and loud talks about how she will not move but I can! Causing me to feel threatened and once again the instructor saw all of this and said or done NOTHING.

LA Fitness International landscaping and manger

Hi I am writing this email to voice my concern over the main manager at the fm 529 and Barker cypress. (The one who handles all membership cancellations). I was expressing my concern over tress that were hanging over the main exit to LA Fitness. Trees that hang low enough that can scratch and damage the paint of passing vehicles. Well, when I was done expressing this to her she literally told me " well those are the banks tress ". "Maybe u should walk to the bank and tell them yourself". Totally rude and lacked compassion as a manager trained to handle a concerned customer. Although she may be right in the fact that the tress are not the responsibility of LA. There are better ways to handle the situation instead of blowing off a customer and sitting down talking on the phone. Thank u for your time and hope u have a blessed day

LA Fitness International service corporate management

I just received a call from LA Fitness that they could not process my payment/it was 3 months past due + charging now late fee, HELLO my account was CANCELLED over a year ago and LA fitness said it was not it was put on a freeze and has for 1 YEAR NOW being charging me a 10.00 freeze hold fee and will NOT refund my money because I didn't bring this to their attention! Really?! No your fine staff made the error of when I cancelled putting it on Freeze instead.I didn't call/bring to their attention in the past year because as I said I CANCELLED this and do not watch my credit card that by the way is CANCELLED NOW TOO for a 10.00 fee that should of NEVER been taken out monthly. The manager I talked to at corporate said nothing she could do because they charged me and I didn't bring to their attention - this is not my fault really?! WOW great job LA Fitness, great customer service! Then I ask to speak to a different manager as she is not assisting me correctly and puts me on hold for 10minutes then I get disconnected. NOW I get this (pic added) you cancelled and still want to try taking MORE OF MY MONEY. Crooks! Really the worst gym all around, price is ridiculous, gym is always packed and you can never get on anything, never clean, customer service has ALWAYS been terrible. Your very unsatisfied past BY A YEAR customer . FYI this is the very gym that the shooting happened in, great job protecting us that should of been my sign to NEVER re join this gym

LA Fitness International cancelling classes without notifying members

The LA Fitness Queens, Howard Beach location management is disorganized and unprofessional. On numerous occation has class been cancelled and there is no awareness wahtsoever; LA Fitness employees are clueless that even when you call the facility to get information, you are kept on hold for long periods of time with no one getting back to you, online class schedules do not get updated and no attempt is made to notify members of whats going on. Instead, only upon your arrival for class will realize that there is none. This has been an ongoing issue.

LA Fitness International gym equipment broken constantly

I use the location in port jefferson new york. I use the star trac ellipticals everytime i work out. Nine time out of ten there is some sort of issue with one or more of the units i choose. I have reported issue on three occasions. Most of the time i just pick another unit. Usually either a display button issue, tv issue, or squeaking coming from inside unit. Obviously, the staff doesn't take the time to test the integrity of the equipment daily, weekly or even monthly. I saw a poster recently on the wall in your gym that read, " due to our tremendous growth we are now hiring." If that be the case maybe hiring more technicians to fix the equipment. Or possibly hire managers who's responsibility it is to inspect the equipment on a weekly basis to insure customer safety and quality control. On a positive note the girl who works at the front desk is very polite and courteous. The personnel who are responsible for cleaning the equipment does a great job too! Thank you.

LA Fitness International facility maintenance

Filthy disgusting changerooms and bathrooms - For months sludge and grime has been building up on counters, around water taps etc. I brought this to the attention of 3 different staff members over the course of 2 weeks. Nothing was done about it. I finally spoke to manager Ryan Maleganeas on April 13, 2018. I showed him pictures. He acted like it was the first he had heard about it (I later found that staff had informed him of the issues previously). He assured me it would be addressed. A week later (Aug 21, 2018) the same sludge and grime remained uncleaned and untouched. So I asked Ryan what was happening with the cleaning. He said it had been cleaned. I took him to the changeroom and showed him that none of the issues I raised with him had been addressed. Specifically black sludge in corners of counter tops, sludge buildup on soap dispencets and around water taps, black mould growing on calking along bottom of mirrors. Ryan Maleganeas then told me that this was cleaned every day and the sludge buildup (which I have been looking at for months) was from a single day's use! I informed him he was incorrect and he accused me of lying. He then said they were doing the best they could and that he expected gym members to be assisting in cleaning the facilities!? Then he said if I didn't like it I could cancel my membership! Ryan Maleganeas has Zero ownership or sense of responsibility for safety and cleanliness of his facility, zero respect for members, zero respect staff. Is it any wonder that none of the staff like him. Also when I was pointing out the deficiencies to Ryan in the men's room, others joined in and added their complaints about lack of cleanliness. Yet Ryan just brushed them off too. I have had others express their concerns to me. I have had staff tell me that others have complained to them as well. But Ryan Maleganeas says he can do no better. Well Ryan, perhaps you should look for a job that better suits your abilities! Something far from customer service, far from managing others and far from facility maintenance!
