LA Fitness International Poor Customer Service and Lack of Accountability at LA Fitness

So, I went to LA Fitness and they told me I could freeze my account if I was gonna be gone for a month. I was like, cool, I might need that. But then when I asked about starting the freeze, nobody was there to help me. They didn't even take my name or pass on a message to anyone to contact me later. So, I didn't use the place for over a month and then I called to get the freeze started from the time I wasn't able to use it like I had asked before. But they said they couldn't go back and freeze or credit my account, even though it was their fault for not getting it done when I first asked. They said they could only do it beginning with the next billing cycle, which is like 13 days away. But nobody told me that when I signed up with them. So, I asked to talk with a manager and they transferred me to corporate in California and I talked with Evelyn. But she wasn't willing to take responsibility for not getting the freeze done in a timely manner or accommodating me in any way. I was only asking for a $19 credit, but apparently the money is more important to LA Fitness than taking care of their customers or providing good customer service. It seems like this attitude comes from the top at corporate in Irvine California. That's really disturbing and not the kind of company I like to do business with. I didn't check reviews before signing up, but now I see there are a lot of negative reviews and hardly any positive ones. So, I'm gonna switch to another fitness center as soon as possible.

LA Fitness International Terrible Experience with LA Fitness: Nasty Staff and Deceptive Personal Trainers

I have to say, LA Fitness is the worst gym I have ever been to. I would not recommend signing up with them. They are a bunch of nasty liars who do not care about their customers. I signed up for a regular gym membership back in May, but then Jay, the personal trainer, convinced me to sign up for a personal training plan. He rushed me into signing everything without giving me enough time to read the contract properly. I later found out that I had signed up for a senior citizens plan, even though I am only 28 years old.

To make matters worse, Jay lied to me about the plan. He promised me a friends pass and that I would be weighed every so often, but none of that ever happened. When I asked the staff about it, they did nothing to help me. I then spoke to the manager and explained my issue. He told me that I could cancel the personal training plan with a doctor's note. So, I went ahead and got the note.

However, when I gave the note to Jay, he refused to submit it to corporate, claiming that they would not accept it because it did not have the proper wording. I think that he had no right to make that decision. He does not work for corporate, and they should be the ones to refuse my doctor's note.

To make matters worse, my note was from my neurologist. I suffer from seizures and have been since the age of seven. My doctor is currently changing my medication, and Jay has no right to bully me into staying committed to a contract that he lied to me about in the first place.

I used to be a member of CKO Kickboxing when I lived in NJ, and I never had any issues with them. I was with them for over three years, and I regret signing up with LA Fitness. The staff is rude and nasty, and I dread going to their gym to work out every day. If I am paying for a gym, I expect to be treated with respect, and most importantly, I should be paying for a plan that is not going to put me at risk.

In conclusion, I would not recommend LA Fitness to anyone. They are a bunch of nasty liars who do not care about their customers. If you are looking for a gym, I suggest looking elsewhere.

LA Fitness International Mixed Experience with LA Fitness: Decent Gym, Poor Customer Service

I've been a member of LA FITNESS for five years now, and I've had a mixed experience with them. At first, I was a month-to-month customer, but then I switched to a prepaid plan for the last three years. I've always enjoyed going to the gym, but when the COVID pandemic hit, everything changed.

Due to local laws, we were not allowed to gather in places where people congregate, such as churches, gyms, and sports events. This meant that I haven't been able to use the gym since March 2020. However, my membership expired last month, and when I called to check on the opening hours and facility availability, I was told that I would have to renew my membership.

I explained the situation to LA Fitness, but they were not willing to extend my membership or give me any credit. They said that an extension had already been given, but that was when no one could go to the gym due to the restrictions in place. I understand that businesses need to make money, but they also need to conduct business with ethics and empathy in mind.

I don't expect LA Fitness to be a socialistic business, but I do think that they should have some understanding of their customers' situations. We are the ones who make it possible for them to exist, and the least they could do is help us out during these difficult times.

Overall, I would say that LA Fitness is a decent gym, but their customer service could use some improvement. If you're thinking of signing up, just be aware that they may not be willing to work with you if you run into any issues.

LA Fitness International Horrible Customer Service and Disappointing Experience at LA Fitness

I've been a member of LA Fitness for a long time, like 20 years long. Back in the day, they were the bee's knees - great staff, great classes, great members. It was exactly what I needed in my life at that time. But let me tell you, in the last 10 years, it's been a real bummer. They cut classes left and right, and the ones that were left were taught by some real meanies. And don't even get me started on the staff turnover - the new folks are as mean as snakes.

When COVID-19 hit and the governor shut down the gym, they put our memberships on hold, which was cool. But then they opened back up without telling us, and I wasn't ready to go back to a germ-infested gym. So I put a hold on my account, but LA Fitness charged me anyway for a full month that I couldn't even use. And then, less than two weeks later, they had to close again, but they charged me again anyway. I called to complain and talk to a manager, but this guy named Kelly was super nasty to me. He wouldn't give me a refund for the overcharge, and he was just plain rude. So I cancelled my membership.

Kelly said he would refund my money, but it's been over a month and nothing's happened. I've tried calling and emailing, but nobody answers the phone and nobody responds to my emails. It's like they're trying to avoid giving me my money back because they're going bankrupt or something. So I had to go through my credit card company to dispute the charges. And cancelling my membership was a whole other ordeal - I never want to go back to LA Fitness again.

Honestly, their customer service is the worst. I've been a member for 20 years, and they treated me like garbage. I'd recommend finding a small boutique gym or just exercising outside with a mask on. LA Fitness is just horrid.

LA Fitness International Unprofessional Trainer and Poor Management at Esporta (formerly LA Fitness)

I became a member of LA Fitness back in 2011 or 2012. In 2016, I decided to pay $1000 per month for 3 days a week of personal training. I was okay with trainers changing if they couldn't work with my schedule. However, I recently had a terrible experience with one of the trainers.

During my routine, the original trainer who I had worked with before was there and took time away from a person he was training to criticize my technique. I was finishing up my routine and told him that I didn't need his input and that he had a client to attend to. However, he became angry and told me that he hopes he never sees me in that gym again and not to come back. I was shocked and felt threatened. I couldn't believe that a so-called professional trainer would behave in such a manner. Was it a threat? What would happen to me if I returned?

I went to the front desk to report the incident, but two of the managers were busy selling their training packages to older people. I'm not there to be a bodybuilder, just to maintain my good health into my retirement years. I'm definitely not at that gym to be verbally abused and possibly threatened by some thug.

One of the managers asked a younger guy at the desk to go see what I needed. I told him that I'd like to have that trainer repeat to management what he said to me. The younger employee confronted the trainer, but he didn't even blink an eye and began his nasty abuse all over again. He even added that I've been working out all these years and look at him, he hasn't changed a bit. It could have been a compliment if it came from anyone else.

Needless to say, this all went nowhere. When I went back to the front desk and asked to cancel my membership, I was told they couldn't do that and I would have to come back next week and ask someone else. LA Fitness is now called Esporta, and I felt that I should post this to add to what I see are loads of complaints.

I've learned a valuable lesson. If a muscle head oaf talks to me at a gym, run for the exit. Oh, and do not look for ethical management style at LA Fitness or Esporta or whatever they call themselves. Buyer beware.

LA Fitness International Mixed Experience at LaFitness: Turnover, Inconsistent Machines, and Sexual Harassment in Training Department

I was a member of LaFitness for a good couple of years, and I gotta say, it was a mixed bag. I went to three different locations during my time there, and each one had its own quirks. Some were cleaner than others, and the machines weren't always consistent. But overall, I had an okay experience working out there.

One thing that really bothered me, though, was the turnover rate for employees. It seemed like as soon as I got to know someone, they were gone. And some of the staff were just too full of themselves, you know? Like they thought they were hot stuff because they worked at a gym. But there were also some really friendly folks who made me feel welcome.

But the real problem at LaFitness was the training department. I saw trainers perving on female clients more times than I care to remember. And I heard from other employees that some of the trainers made them uncomfortable, too. One front desk worker even had a trainer touch her chest without permission! And this guy was a real piece of work - he didn't care about his job, he was just there to ogle the clientele.

I wish I had listened to the warnings from other employees about this guy. But upper management didn't seem to care about the sexual deviancy in their training department. And that's just not okay. Training is supposed to be a respectful, professional experience. We don't come to the gym to be ogled or groped. And we certainly don't come to lose out on sessions we paid for because a trainer can't control their crotch.

It's not just the training department that's a problem, though. Many employees at LaFitness complain about how poorly they're treated by corporate. And when Covid hit, LaFitness made a big deal about cleanliness, but they cut back on weekend cleaning and left a six-hour gap from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning. It's just not a well-run gym.

Overall, I won't be going back to LaFitness. There are plenty of other options out there, like Planet Fitness, Chuze Gyms, or small local gyms.

LA Fitness International Unprofessional conduct at La Fitness gym in Edmonton - A warning to potential clients

I recently visited the La Fitness gym located in Edmonton, AB - 186th st. Nw. I was interested in getting a membership and starting personal training to help me recover from an injury. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially the manager for the trainers who assured me that my needs as a client would be their top priority.

I was paired with a trainer who was not only knowledgeable but also funny and friendly. However, during our last session, he informed me that he had applied for a different job and wasn't sure if he would get it. I didn't mind that he was pursuing his passion, but what followed was highly unprofessional.

Two hours before my scheduled session, I received a call from the gym informing me that my trainer was feeling unwell and that yesterday was his last day. I was shocked and disappointed that a professional would leave with only two hours' notice. To make matters worse, the manager didn't seem to care about my situation and suggested that I pick another trainer.

As a client, it's not my job to pick a trainer. I have five months of personal training sessions left, and I don't know any of the other trainers' skill sets. The manager set me up with someone who he said wasn't like my previous trainer, but he would do in a pinch. I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed with the unprofessional conduct of the staff.

If I wasn't tied into this gym for the next five months, I would have dropped them like a bad habit. I strongly advise anyone looking for a gym to avoid this one.

LA Fitness International Unprofessional and Humiliating Experience at LA Fitness Brampton/Airport

I have been a loyal member of LA Fitness in Brampton, Ontario since it took over Bodyworks many years ago. My wife and I both have memberships and have never had any major issues until recently. I have heard complaints from other members about the service at LA Fitness, including problems with suspension and cancellation notices, account payment issues, and bad customer service. However, we have never experienced any of these problems until today.

On Monday, April 9th, 2018, I arrived at LA Fitness at Brampton/Airport for my third workout after being absent from the gym for several months. I was scanned in by the person at the desk, Mo, and walked in. However, Mo called me back and told me that there was no telephone number on file and that my information needed to be updated. I told him that I would take care of it on my way out, but he insisted that I could not go in because I had an NSF payment of $28 and could not work out.

I was surprised by this because I was sure that my payment account could handle a $28 payment. Mo's manager came over and informed me that my payment for Sunday, April 8th, 2018, was declined. I signed into my banking app and showed them that there were no transactions recorded for that day. I told them that they would have to wait until the bank posted Sunday's transactions to provide any information.

Mo then called me over and yelled at me to pay my bills or he would have to call the cops. I told him to do what he had to do and continued to the exercise bikes. A few minutes later, a gentleman who introduced himself as a VP came to the bikes and asked me to see him after my workout to rectify my issue. I rode for five more minutes, but I was in no mood to work out. I left the gym and went directly to a nearby branch to speak to a bank official.

The bank official printed out my statements going back eight months and showed me that there were no NSF charges for LA Fitness over that period. There were also no transactions yet processed for Sunday, April 8th, 2018. The bank official told me that there must be something wrong on LA Fitness's end because there was more than enough to cover $28.

I took the printed statements back to LA Fitness to show that there were no transactions posted for $28. I spoke to the VP, who insisted that LA Fitness had a very good system and did not make these types of mistakes. However, I felt insulted and humiliated by Mo discussing my personal information in public. I told the VP that due to my history with LA Fitness, the simple thing to do would have been to allow me to finish my workout and direct me to see an agent to privately discuss the issues. I did not need to feel harassed about a $28 payment.

In the end, I decided that it was time to find another fitness facility. While I have been a loyal member of LA Fitness for many years, the recent incident has left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope that LA Fitness can improve its customer service and payment systems in the future to avoid similar incidents.

LA Fitness International LA Fitness Renton, WA Landing Review: Dirty, Unsanitary, and Unprofessional Staff

I went to an LA Fitness gym in Renton, WA Landing when it first opened years ago. At first, I enjoyed it, but as time went on, I found it to be a headache. The machines were dirty, and other gym members failed to clean up after themselves. The gym failed to keep up the machines to protect the user. Instead of fixing them, they did a band-aid slap fix. Wear and tear started occurring to the building with little desire to fix things as they broke or succumbed to wear and tear. Bathrooms and locker rooms became dirty and unsanitary. Locker room theft became out of control, so I made sure to get a cell phone wallet and decided just to bring myself to the gym. I left my duffle bag next to the exercise machine I used. Even though the attendants didn't like it, I didn't trust the locker rooms. I wasn't going to leave it in my car. The parking lot was another issue at this location. Bad design, high theft, and in the slums of Renton.

The biggest issue was when I tried to cancel the contract. The ladies at the front desk won me over with kudos and excellent customer service. Damn, LA Fitness is expensive to begin with. They harassed me into paying the top dollar fee even if I didn't want it. After I signed it, everything changed. The gals at the desk became snooty and rude and difficult to deal with. Half the time, they wouldn't acknowledge me or brush me off like I was an issue rather than a client. I was never rude to them, always polite and courteous, even when they were being arrogant, difficult to deal with @$$ holes. When I went to cancel the membership, I succumbed to ridicule, arrogance, and disrespect from the employees. Getting them to do anything but gossip between themselves was irritatingly difficult. It was like dealing with the dumb blond b-i-t-ch high school girl that just wanted to smack on gum all day and work on her nails. So self-centered, nothing else mattered. This location went through so much staff, and each one eventually came to the same level of unprofessional laziness. It all starts with management. I found out I had to cancel my membership through the 800# (bull $#*! why?). Later, I found out either party could have done it. They were just being lazy @$$es and abusive towards their clients. I canceled my membership after about six months because I found two months of the year I couldn't use the gym due to a 500% client increase. In addition, the gym was starting to succumb to issues. I checked in on them ten years later, and if anything, they've gotten worse.

I went to a couple of the YMCA locations in our area and have been with them since. It also helps that my health insurance offers a discount to join a gym at a discounted cost. Before COVID hit, I used it all the time. Parking is a bit of an issue, but if you go mid-day, it's not bad. YMCA is family-friendly, non-discriminatory towards all, and highly worth it.

LA Fitness International LA Fitness Review: Serious Issues with Towels, Restrooms, and Cleanliness

This gym, LA Fitness, has some serious issues that need to be addressed. Firstly, the towel situation is a mess. They are frequently running out of towels and when I asked about it, the guy told me that the washer was broken. I mean, come on, do they only have one washer? It's not like they don't have enough members to warrant more than one washer. And to make matters worse, on August 14th, there was a guy in the stepper with 2 long towels and 2 short towels. This is not fair to other members and the number of towels by member should be limited to one of each. Otherwise, they should not guarantee towels when enrolling a new member. That's deceiving.

The family restroom was out of service last Saturday, August 21st, because the toilet was clogged and it was full of crap all over the place. It was disgusting. And to add insult to injury, the toilet paper dispensers are broken. When you take a $#*!, you have to hold the paper with one hand. It's not a pleasant experience.

The gym is also not very clean. The toilets are always dirty and full of crap. They compare to the portable potty of disgusting and stinking that they are. Used towels, masks, underwear, empty bottles of shampoo and garbage are all over the place in the lockers and showers. The showers and floors of this gym have not seen a pressure washer in years. The soap dispensers are full of scum, the tiles, and floors with hair from razors for days, showers without light, bugs in the ceiling of the showers, the grouts of each shower are disgusting and full of germs. It's not a healthy environment.

At times, there are even 6 employees in the front desk laughing, bouncing a basketball when only one is needed and the other five can be cleaning and maintaining the facility because that is what I pay for. They are constantly on their phones, texting. LA should not allow their employees to text or listen to music on their phones. If they want to listen music, the gym has music playing constantly.

The gym offers a "Healthy" facility, towels, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet and paper towel and equipment, all of that, in exchange for $39/month. But do people get a discount when we do not have these things constantly? It's not fair to pay for something that is not being provided.

The doors of the stalls don't close and the frames are rusted making the door shake when you are trying to get some privacy doing your business. Good luck with that! And the wood in the frame of the sauna is rotten. It's not safe.

It was probably Saturday August 7th or 14th that the dispenser of paper towel next to the elliptical and treadmill machines by the trainers' area was empty. Employees were passing by, and no one had the decency of bringing a new roll. It has to be a member, called Mary, who went back and brought a freaking roll of paper towel and changed it by herself. That is not her job, but LA Fitness is charging her the monthly fee as usual. Several members including me went to the front desk and reported it the dispenser out of paper. The complaint went through one ear and out the other.

I was a member of Crunch for many years and every Saturday morning they were pressure washing the showers and constantly changing the shower curtains. These are not even $2 in Walmart and the gym only has 10 showers. If you buy them in bulk, it's probably less than $1. Even in the Dollar Tree, you can buy them for $1. But LA Fitness seems to be lazy and pigs. I am sorry for it is the true.

We are in the middle of a pandemic and many times there are not disinfectant spray bottles in the front desk. Before the lift of the masks and when the business came fully operational, these bottles were in the front desk all the time. Once this was lifted, the gym stopped providing these bottles. After I complained, they started to put them out again but not as many as before. It's not safe to work out in an environment that is not properly disinfected.

Overall, LA Fitness needs to step up their game. They need to provide a clean and safe environment for their members. The employees need to be more attentive and not constantly on their phones. And they need to provide the amenities that they advertise. It's not fair to pay for something that is not being provided.

LA Fitness International Cleanliness

Both LA Fitness locations in Conyers and McDonough, GA are consistently in a filthy condition every morning when they open. With the different variations of the Covid arisen it would seem like your establishment would have a higher focus on cleanliness and germ/virus mitigation. I’ve been a loyal member of your fitness club for over 10years and I’m very disappointed in the lack of service that I’m receiving for the membership fees that I pay monthly.

Desired outcome: Consistent cleaning service and disinfecting of the equipment and locker room facilities in order to feel safe during usage and in order to feel that I’m getting my monies worth.

LA Fitness International Parking lot over run by church members throughout the week and on Sunday our parking lot is unusable for members

The Chino location has its own specific parking lot and is not shared with anybody yet it's overrun by the surrounding church that completely takes up all of the members parking in the front and the rear of LA fitness. Christian is the manager through the week and on the weekends nobody is here to enforce or stand out there and make sure the church does not over run our parking lot. I just drove through there for 20 minutes and could not get a parking spot to go into work out for membership and I'm paying for for my wife in grandson. This really sucks

LA Fitness International Terrible Experience with LA Fitness: Dirty, Unhelpful, and Overpriced

I gotta say, my experience with LA Fitness was not great. Honestly, if I could give it a zero, I would. It was just plain unpleasant. I mean, I didn't even realize I was in the wrong place for two whole months! And when I finally tried to cancel, they told me there was no operations manager on site. What kind of business is that?

The guy on the phone tried to get me to go to another location to cancel, but I just couldn't make it work. And then they kept charging me for five months! It's like they didn't even care that I wasn't using their gym anymore. And don't even get me started on how dirty it was. I mean, it was brand new and it still looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks.

The staff was always trying to sell me on the most expensive memberships, too. Like, come on, I'm just trying to get in shape here. I don't need all the bells and whistles. Honestly, I think there should be a law against running a business like this. It's just not right.

I know some people had warned me about their tactics, but I still gave it a chance. And boy, was that a mistake. I would definitely recommend staying far, far away from this gym. Trust me, you don't want to go through what I did.

LA Fitness International Poor Customer Service and Harassment at LA Fitness

Been going to LA Fitness for 3 years now and I gotta say, I'm not too happy with how things are going. I wanted to end my membership, but the staff has been calling me non-stop to get me to pay up. I mean, come on, I already said I don't want to be a member anymore. But they keep threatening me with collections if I don't pay. And when I asked to speak to a manager, the lady on the phone said she was the manager and kept on with the threats. It's just not right, especially with everything going on with COVID. I'm really disappointed with how they're handling things.

LA Fitness International Terrible Experience with LA Fitness: Inaccuracies, Lost Trainer, and No Help from Corporate

I had a really bad experience with LA Fitness. I was promised personal training sessions, but when I started using them, I found out that there were a lot of inaccuracies. For example, I was told that the sessions would be an hour long, but they were only 45 minutes. I was also told that I had a certain amount of time to use them, but that turned out to be wrong too.

To make matters worse, I lost my personal trainer because he got promoted. The person I signed up with was no longer available, and nobody seemed to care. I tried to talk to the branch manager, but there wasn't one. All I got was a corporate associate in California who just kept saying "the contract says..."

I felt really degraded and helpless. I had spent over $1,000 on these personal training sessions, and now I had no trainer and no way to get my money back. They wouldn't even let me cancel my membership without paying a fee.

I would definitely not recommend LA Fitness to anyone. They were not helpful at all, and I lost a lot of money because of their mistakes. Stay far away from this gym!

LA Fitness International Terrible Customer Service and Payment Issues at LA Fitness in Burnsville, Minnesota

I had a membership for my two boys at LA Fitness in Burnsville, Minnesota for a whole year. But then, we had to move out of the area and I wanted to terminate my service. I contacted customer service and they told me to freeze my account and gave me an email address to proceed once I travel. I sent an email to the given address, but I didn't receive any reply. After three months, I noticed that they were still taking money from my account. I contacted the supervisor and he told me that the email service doesn't even work. I was very frustrated and requested to terminate my service again and to be refunded. It took another two months to sort out the issue after going back and forth. I was insulted and humiliated by the customer service, and the supervisor was aware of it, but he didn't even apologize. All I wanted was to deactivate my membership and get a refund for the money that was withdrawn from my account without my approval. Finally, I had to call USbank to block them. So, if you have to deal with LA Fitness, don't do direct payment. Once you want to cancel, it is a huge deal to get rid of them.

In my opinion, LA Fitness should improve their customer service. They should have a better system to handle membership cancellations and refunds. It is not fair to take money from someone's account without their approval. The supervisor should have apologized for the inconvenience caused to me. I hope LA Fitness will take this feedback seriously and make necessary changes to improve their services.

LA Fitness International LA Fitness: Unhelpful Customer Service and Misleading Promises During COVID-19 Pandemic

I joined LA Fitness in January/February for personal training, just before the COVID pandemic hit. When I signed up, they told me that I could cancel my membership after 6 months without any issues. However, when I went to the gym I signed up to, they couldn't help me cancel my membership. They suggested that I contact customer service, so I called many times and finally got through on 8/3/2020 after being on hold for 43 minutes. The representative informed me that I could only either suspend my account for two months or pay half in order to get out of it. I explained that I am facing reduced hours at work and am unable to keep up with payments. Additionally, I was told when I initially joined that I could cancel after 6 months. Furthermore, I do not feel safe going into any gym right now due to the pandemic.

The representative forwarded my information to the VP of Personal Training in my area, Miles, who was also unhelpful and told me the same thing. He even hung up on me during the call and told me to contact him when I decide what I want to do based on the two options he gave me. I just want to warn others and let you know to be aware of what a scam this gym is before you sign up for anything with them. It's frustrating to feel like I'm being taken advantage of during these difficult times. I hope that LA Fitness can improve their customer service and be more understanding of their members' situations.

LA Fitness International Unethical Practices of LA Fitness: Annual Fees, Unwanted Charges, and Account Cancellation

LA Fitness is not a good gym to sign up with, especially during these pandemic times. They will charge you an annual fee even when the gym is closed due to the pandemic and you do not actually use it for one year. This is very frustrating and unfair to the customers who are already struggling financially.

Moreover, they unfreeze your account and keep charging your credit card even when you don't want to use their services. When the card declines, they charge you a fee for every attempt, which is very annoying. They keep ringing it up to boost the amount of money they make from the declined card. This is not ethical and shows how they are only interested in making money from their customers.

The worst part is that they will cancel your account without paying off the fee so they just keep stealing money until you can pay it or go into bankruptcy. This is very unfair and shows how they are not interested in the well-being of their customers. Local club managers claim they can't do anything and just tell you to come back with another card. Head office tells you to go to the club and deal with the manager so the customer is just a ping pong ball getting passed back and forth while everyone washes their hands of the problem.

They basically hold you hostage and refuse to let you go until you pay them off, but if you don't pay them off they just keep charging you like a loan shark. This is very frustrating and shows how they are not interested in the well-being of their customers. It is better to go to any other gym to stay clear of LA Fitness.

I will be making a complaint with the ministry of government and consumer services and with the better business Bureau and continue to post what kind of thievery they call a business that they're running. It is important to let people know about the unethical practices of LA Fitness so that they can make an informed decision before signing up with them.

LA Fitness International Mixed Bag: My Experience with LA Fitness in South King Co WA

I've been hitting up LA Fitness for my workouts for a good 15 years now, and I gotta say, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I've been to three different locations in south King Co WA - Federal Way, Kent, and Tukwila - and each one has its own vibe, equipment, and layout. Some machines are pretty well-maintained, with signs saying they're scheduled for maintenance and then getting fixed up pretty quickly. But others? Whew, they can go months and months without any TLC, with signs falling off and nothing being done about it.

One thing that's pretty consistent across all three locations is the high turnover of staff. It seems like every time I go in, there's a new face at the front desk. And let me tell you, those folks are not always on time. If they're opening the gym, they're often running late and leaving us early birds waiting outside in the cold.

Now, if you're having issues with a particular location, you can try calling the 800 number to report it. But don't hold your breath for a call back or email. And even if you do manage to get in touch with someone, it's not always clear that anything will actually be done about the issue.

All that said, LA Fitness is pretty much the only game in town if you're looking for a weight training gym in the greater Seattle area. A lot of other options have closed up shop or been bought out by LA Fitness, so they know they've got a bit of a captive audience. And honestly, I think that shows in their overall attitude. It's not like they're going out of their way to make the gym experience amazing for us.

But hey, I keep coming back. Maybe it's just because I'm used to the place. Or maybe it's because I'm a glutton for punishment. Either way, if you're looking for a gym in the area, LA Fitness is worth checking out - just don't expect perfection.

LA Fitness International Terrible Customer Service and Billing Practices at LA Fitness - Avoid at All Costs

I'm sorry if there are any errors in this review, I'm not the best at typing on my phone. I signed up for a personal trainer at LA Fitness a few months back, but unfortunately I got sick and had to have two surgeries. My doctor wrote a letter saying that I was permanently disabled and couldn't work out with weights or do any exercise in that kind of environment. I've sent all the documentation to LA Fitness multiple times, but every time I talk to someone they just act concerned and don't actually do anything to help me. They've even made excuses like not being able to print my doctor's note.

My husband has been a member for over 20 years and he's going in this week to cancel his membership along with mine. He's had multiple people added on during his time there, but we're just fed up with the way we've been treated. The director of our local LA Fitness has lied to us and so has the corporate office. They've continued to charge my bank account even though I have a doctor's note and have told them I haven't been able to work out for 20 months.

If you're looking to do any personal training or just general exercise and fitness, I'd recommend going to a different company. Once LA Fitness has your card or checking account number, they don't seem to care about anything else and will charge you without hesitation. It's really frustrating and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I've been through.

LA Fitness International Membership and services

I joint this gym back in January and on the same month I called corporate to make a complain because they were closing the gym an hour before and I was not getting the trainer I contracted he was busy or he had others in front of me. So I cancel my membership not even a month into joining well LA fitness decided to charge me after I left over $700 dollars in charges for not going and not receiving any training. These people are crooks for real. I did talk to the manager Renato and he told me that he could not do anything and laugh is all he did.

LA Fitness International LA Fitness membership charges after cancellation

LA Fitness was placing unauthorized charges to my credit card after two attempts to cancel the service. Here are the details;

In October 2021 I cancelled LA Fitness member membership ($24.99/month). About 5 months later I realized they kept charging me $24.99 per month. I went to their office (March 2022), they reimbursed me for five months, and I was told that they will stop charging, and my membership is cancelled.

I realized a few days ago (Apr 25 2023) that they kept charging my CC $24.99 per month. I did talk to them on Apr-29 2023. I was told that the account was "frozen" in March-22 which is different from closing it, and they can’t reimburse me.

My request to cancel the service and stop charging me was clear. The did reimburse me for 5 months. I have never used their services since the original cancellation in October 2021. The manager’s name was Diane from Broomall PA. I dop not know here last name.

Desired outcome: I would like to get reimbursed ($373.87) to the months I did not give them permission toc charge my CC.

This gym has way too many members. Between 3:30 pm to 6:30pm, it is impossible to find a parking spot in most days. Inside the gym, these are Mondays are packed to the point that people stand around you, waiting for you to stop exercising. Other days are less packed, but still very busy. LA Fitness International Payment and PT

When I meet the PT Director, he told me that I would have a meal plan, that my PT would show me how to use an app to measure calories, and that I would also have a list of exercises for the solo session.

My Training with PT began in December 2022. However, she missed nearly 3 weeks of class during the first month due to illness, and she subsequently neglected to mention this. (which I think have to check again). Also sometimes she wants to cancel the session, but she is telling me at 5:30 PM. We scheduled our session for 5:30 PM O_o. I didn't receive any of the things I mentioned above.

I paid for my PT $440 monthly. I am paying for nothing for the whole 4 months now for nothing.

Desired outcome: please refund all my money back

LA Fitness International LA Fitness Won't Stop Calling Me

I had an LA Fitness membership back when my father was still alive and canceled it when he passed in 2017. All of a sudden, I'm getting an alarming amount of phone calls from LA Fitness from various phone numbers and there's no one there when I pick up. This has been going on since January 2023 and the amount of phone calls has increased to the point of three calls within an hour this morning (March 9, 2023). This is made especially distressing by the fact I am reminded of my late father since LA Fitness was a place we went to together. This needs to stop. There is no way this is legal. I owe you nothing. I have no debt with LA Fitness.

Desired outcome: Please just leave me alone. Lose my number. Never contact me again.

LA Fitness International poorly maintained facility LA Fitness Downingtown PA

The LA fitness in Downingtown PA has been closed for the past 10. days for a so-called remodel. It opened back up today. After going back to the facility today, it seems like all that was done was a new floor put in, and all the machines moved around. We still have 15 pieces of equipment on the floor with out of service notes on them, this is ridiculous, the aerobic equipment that works is all falling apart also. Will this gym ever get this fixed? We have 2 squat racks in this location, other smaller LA fitness in the area have 3 or 4 squat racks, these are always being used we've all complained to management about this but nothing changes. The other LA fitness clubs in the area all got some new equipment when their floor remodel was done, we are still using the same equipment that was here at the opening of the club. Does LA fitness not care about its members? Will anything ever improve at this club?

Desired outcome: Fix/replace the constantly broken equipment, get some new equipment.
