How responsive is Kroger's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Kroger handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Kroger and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Kroger not enough clerks, too many self checkouts, stocking makes it difficult to shop

We have shopped her before you took over. Busiest time, after work when everyone is shopping on the way home. There is stocking going on that blocks one half of the aisle while the person stocks the opposite side of the aisle. It creates a complete obstacle course! Now there is only one aisle that offers bagging, the rest is self service. There are people standing around, not bothering to open up another lane.
I go to check out at self serve with a full cart of groceries, there isn't enough room for this to happen efficiently because there isn't enough bagging area, so I have to bag my groceries and move them to the floor! To make it worse, items don't scan and when "help arrives" and it is manually entered, it still isn't in the system!

I have recently been diagnosed with cancer and have back issues, a lot of the people who also shopped here are older and need the additional help getting checked out.

I can pass 4 other groceries stores, depending on my route home. I do not have to shop here if there is not going to be more than one check out lane when I can get better service elsewhere.

BTW, The stop sign in front of the store is hanging upside down, the carts are all over the parking lot in over crowded corrals so that the lanes to drive through are a hazard.

This was a grocery trip from hell yesterday when EVERYTHING went wrong. The attitude of your staff is horrible, they don't care to help customers, they just want to talk to friends and the front end manager obviously is on a power trip. I say this because when one of your employees happens to make eye contact, they immediately look away, no smile, no hello, , ,

And I am supposed to shop here WHY?

Kroger unethical behavior

10/11/2019 5:40am. Was picking up a few things before work. The floor mgr had an employee cornered by the meat counter using the filthiest language. This went on for several mins. I asked if he need to use that kind of language around customers, to witch he told me to mind my own f**king business. He said I wasn't even to be in the store as it wasn't open yet. I informed him it was open yet and that shouldn't matter. There is no reason to use that language to employees, especially when customers are around.I will NEVER shop there again.

Kroger I am suspicious that my location's assistant manager is about to fire me for no reason.

I am a transgender woman, and a bagger at Kroger. I am afraid to disclose which store it is because I am suspicious that my store's assistant manager is looking for a reason to fire me for no reason at all. Front end is severely understaffed, the assistant manager only hired two people in the span of three months. He expects me to do everything as if I am taking care of West Minster Abbey, He expects me to be so quick at carts, that I keel over with severe chest pains, which I have warned several staff members about Several baggers quit due to this, I also feel unapreciated, as if I am a sponge for rude [censored], and [censored]. I also feel severely underpaid. What should I do?

Kroger 2 items - fairlife ultra pasteurized whole milk, and artisan cafe' himalayan salted caramel creamer

I am complaining because this store is terrible about having things in stock. These are the 2 latest items, but typically there is ALWAYS something on my list that they are out of and don't have in the back room.
Tonight (10/11/19), I went specifically to pick up milk for my home-made yogurt. It HAS to be Fairlife and I use the whole milk because it is lower in carbs and sugar than low fat milk. After checking in the back room, I was told that the dairy manager was on vacation... I don't care. I cannot wait to make yogurt that I eat every day until the dairy manager gets back. Not my problem.
Artisan Cafe' - they discontinued it despite that fact that it was a great seller and used to fly off the shelves as soon as they got it. Anytime I asked for it, I was either told that they never carried it (they did) or that it must have been pulled because it wasn't a big seller (also not true). I was recently told that they discontinued it to make room for pumpkin creamers. I used to buy 4 at a time because it was so popular.

Oh yeah, and for those of us who work late and have to go later at night (10:30), we don't get the same service as people who work during the day and have to scan our own stuff because there are no full service cash registers open.

Kroger I fell and injured myself - here was kroger's response

I slipped and fell in water left on the floor in the produce section of my local Fred Meyer store, resulting in a trip to the doctor, 3 weeks of physical therapy - and having to work "light duty" at my job for 3 weeks. Very painful. A Customer Care respresentative from Kroger call me 3 days later to express how sorry she was and said she was going to send me a gift card for my trouble. Her name is Michelle and her work phone is: 1-800-314-1814, extension 38694.

Well, nothing was mailed. When I contacted her several months later, she said she was unable to send a gift card because I had asked her to have my incident investigated as to why there was water all over the floor. She said she was unable to send me a gift card. So, a Kroger repreentative says she is going to do something, doesn't follow through, and then doesn't even let me know until I contacted her. This is the worst example of customer service, ever.

Kroger employee

On 09/14/2019 at 8:03 a.m I checked out at the self check out and as I was scanning my items it was saying call an attendant I had already had about 5 bags bagged and the attendant seen it on the screen and said uh I'll just do it real sarcastically I guess she thought I was trying to steal something so she u bagged all my groceries I already checked out and re scanned all my items and after she saw it came up as the same price that was on there she just said ok just pay now and just walked away . I put what she had bagged in my buggy drove 15 miles to get home and I noticed that my already cooked deli chicken wasn't in and if the bags I was so upset I had my neice handle the situation she called spoke to the manager and he apologized and said to come back and get.my chicken so I did drove 15 miles there and back home and then noticed my canned bisquits I paid for wasn't there either 2 cans of those And a couple more items I wasn't about to send her back another 15 miles there and 15 back already made that trip twice and I would have had my items if she would have put them where they were already at and rung up properly anyways her taking my stuff out of my bags and not replacing them cost me money that I didn't get my items and 2 30 mile trips which also cost me money and just get reactions and the way she was handling the situation made me feel like I was 2 feet tall I wasn't and didn't steal anything and when she seen that she just walked away and I'm out if money for her accusations her non professional approach I don't know her name but she always works in the self check out she's a heavy set blonde and she's short. But thanks I guess.

Kroger cashiers money center

I should not come into the store on a Saturday morning at 8:00 am and shop for the week and there are no cash registers open. The only option is self serve for a cart full of groceries, yet, there's at least four employees standing around talking.
If you want your store to be totally self service lower your prices. Kroger is too expensive to have to check myself out and bag my own groceries too. Then I head to the money center where the two employees behind the window look at me crazy, how dare I interrupt their conversation? Then she says, m'am the machine is down, it might not be up until 12. So again at least six people you're paying to stand around and do nothing, fire them and pass the savings on to paying customers. Also train your employees on how to speak to customers properly. A simple, sorry for the inconvenience, but our machine is down, would do. Not an explanation that's meant to sound like I'm crazy for coming in during store hours and expecting service.

Kroger dirty store produce is full of bugs

A few years ago one of Kroger's competitor's, Marsh, closed their doors. Kroger hasn't even tried to keep up with the additional customers flocking into the stores. It starts with metal grocery carts filling the parking lot. (Not hard plastic like the other stores, which are quieter and safer.) The shelves are never stocked well. I always have to leave without 3 or 4 items on my list because the store was out of the product altogether. You have to be related to or flirting with the butchers to ever qualify for a decent cut of meat. When women of the same color go by the deli, the butchers come running out with arms full of meats no one else ever got to see. I have brought home so many flying insect (gnats, fruit flies) from the produce section they're in my house. That's were I drew the line. I have considered calling the board of health. I used to shop at the Kroger location listed above but have since switched to driving 2 extra miles to shop at Wal-Mart or Meier.

Kroger deli

Three times this month I have gone to this kroger and taken a number only to be seen but not helped by the staff at the deli. It is not one person it is about 4 different ones. I have seen them get upset because it is close to closing and they have to help me and I have also seen them go on break while there is a line. I was there 2 days ago took a number the girl was waiting on someone in front of me, so I wait, then she walks away and they other 2 girls in the deli actually walk away and leave the counter. No hello or someone will be right with you they just walked away and I waited another 5-7 minutes for someone to decide to come back and help me. The only reason I am complaining is because this seems to be a normal thing with this deli at this kroger. I would tell the manager but I dont think they really care at this store. Since it is allowed to keep happening.

Kroger service

This is the worst store in Staunton to shop for food . I have changed over to Food Lion. They are never stocked . The shelves are always empty or very very low . They don't have some of the product. And the only reason I go there is to get a no spice true value Rotisserie chicken that I have to have for my small dogs to eat because of digestions problems. And the people are so dumb and rude in the deli they gave me the wrong chicken that had full of garlic spices in the bag that was suppose to be for the true value chicken. They didn't even know the difference and and wouldn't help me . So they called the manager back and he also didn't know the difference and gave me the wrong chicken which has upset my dogs stomach again. They are not trained, they are rude and lazy don't want to help you. This one employee at the cash register is so rude and never talks, smiles, or say thank you . Just like you owe him something. I ask one employee about a can of green beans Blue lake with potatoes and he never heard of that and of course they didn't have them anyway just as the shelves are always not stocked. Its the worse store . I can't stand that store anymore and I don't even go in there anymore . I will shop at Food Lion because of the clean store, completely stocked shelves to the fullest. politest employees and fastest checkouts. It always a pleasure to go to Food Lion.

To Whom It May Concern:

I purchased a package of Pineapples Tidbits on 5/27/2018 from Kroger while eating from container I saw a roach leg in it I contacted these people with Kroger Teresa Dickerson, Katherine B. Knox, Shelby Riley and Rodney McMullen on the issue no one got back to me until I was informed to send the roach leg to Pacific Coast Producers to view leg broke while putting into container to send so I still have other part. Kroger mindy who works in the pharmacy.

I called to see if my doctor had sent my prescription over since I had requested my refill via Mychart & had not heard back if it was approved or not. Mindy answered the phone & she was incredibly rude. She kept cutting me off & wouldn't let me finish asking my questions. I will be switching pharmacies due to how rude the staff is. Totally unnecessary.

Kroger false advertising and empty shelves

The weekly sale items, specifically "special deals" they advertised coffee pods @ spend $25 and get additional $10 off, they then priced the pods @$24.99, so you have to spend an additional $14.99 to receive the $10 off. Really Kroger, because of one penny, we have to spend $40...not a deal! An insult. You advertised, " One day only 50% off specific size Halloween candy, you had every size bag available, except the size the ad stated. Again Thanks! If there were another store closer then 70 miles I would never enter your Bennett store again, but I dont have that option, so I'll continue to patronize your facility, I will just watch your "specials" closer as not to be fooled again. Kroger mashed potato packaging

The delicious mashed potatoes you make have had cracks in the packaging in several of the tubs I have purchased from Kroger and Ninos Stores that are both in Troy, MI. I think you should check into the thickness of the tubs you are using. If I am finding them, I'm sure other customers are as well. I really like this product. Thank you for reading/listening.

Kroger zone nutrition bars

It's simple, Zone Nutrition bars, cookie dough Kroger can not keep on shelf. All other favors their are plenty. And their are plenty of the big box that is not on sale fro 5 for $5 savings. Even when not on sale Kroger can't keep them on the shelves. Matter of fact I complained yesterday about the same problem and overnight Kroger Quadruple the big box's that are not on sale. And the small boxes are still sold out. It seems tome something that sales that good you would make sure an employee stocked that shelf 3-4 times a day. Unless Kroger is trying the ole bait and switch. Thats against the law don't you know.
Just what is the problem ? Can someone not order enough to keep the shelf's stocked. I mean it's every time for the past 4 weeks .I cant eat another flavor my doc says so. So what;s your answer, even yesterday because I am out I drove to the cedar bluff Kingston pike store in knoxville, ten. Guess what ? They were sold out of the little box also, plenty of purge boxes costing $ 8.99 dollars more.
Come on Kroger get with it.

Kroger kept my coupons and very bad customer service

Today 9/24/19 at 5 pm after work I went shopping at this Kroger in buford (GA) on Hamilton mill road .I have bought lots of items $160.00 worth, when checking out the bagger Garett scanned part of my coupons and for every 2 or 3 coupons he walked away to find the Manager in charge, every time he was gone another 5 -10 min went past. The 3-rd time around he left again and came back and told me that he could only take 2 manufactured coupons . I wanted to get the Starbucks coffee sale buy 5 get it for 6.99 deal . So since he only wanted to take 2 coupons it would not have worked with my $1.00 off deal . I asked to speak to a manager u in charge ( Allison) and he left again to go get her. Another 5 min passing and after she got to me she explained the 2 coupon max deal and I told her that I would like to get this coffee deal today since it was the last day of the sale and I just got off work and need to get home. She started arguing with me and I asked for the store manager . She said that the lady is off today and nobody else would be in charge other then herself. The bagger now started talking in a disrespectful manner, he said that I made copies of my coupons and he knows that for sure Because of the way they looked like and Allison told him to stop and be quiet.
I decided to cancel the whole order since I could not use all the coupons for coffee .
Earlier when Garett scanned the other coupons he always left with them and went back and forth to speak to Allison ( manager in charge). Now after I cancelled the order I wanted my coupons back, I had about 20 manufacture coupons, some of them were really high dollar amount like 5 off 3 Colgate etc
All of a sudden nobody could find my coupons any more and 1 hr later I had to leave because they just ignored me and made a foul out of me by letting me stand there and wait.
I know that Garett put the coupons in the pouch but he said that they looked but could not find them . I think they were just made at me since I cancelled everything and they had to put it back.
So now I left without groceries and without my coupons, this customer service is very bad and instead of selling groceries they stole my coupons .
I am a single mom and rely on my coupons and saving wherever I can .
Hopefully you guys from corporate understand this and keep Kroger associates from doing this to other customers .
I will include a copy of my cancelled receipt and you can see that I hade many coupons which are now lost.
Thank you listening and making this right

You posted your complaint about this issue in a complaint board website but you end it with hoping corporate will help you make it right. You really and should ask for a copy of the coupon policy. It does vary from store to store and you definitely are not supposed to be able to combine paper coupons and sale items. If you have before than you were lucky. I get it. Coupons help a lot when you need to save extra money. Acting like a fool wont help you though.

Kroger check out lines

I went to Kroger's this morning at 8am. There were ABSOLUTELY no regular (with a cashier) registers open, only self checkout. Not a real problem except when you have 16 and only 8 are open. On top you have customers doing their regular shopping. In other words there were 5-6 customers with FULL carts having to scan & bag their own groceries. There were 5 waiting in the one line. Some of the customers waiting in line had more than 15 items. I do realize that there is no limit to self checkout. But when I have to wait 15-20 minutes to purchase 1 item that wait is ridiculous. The cashier at the self checkout went to say something to the manager on duty (female with long hair, did not get her name)came back and told a customer that she said for her to just help customers checkout. Several customers had gotten out of line to go complain to said manager. When I went up to customer service area (which of course had a long line also) all the manager said to me was" yes I know about the line". There are never enough cashiers on duty at this Kroger's.

Also at this Kroger's 75% of the time we have to go out in the parking lot and get a cart/buggy because there are very seldom up by the building. I have spoken numerous times to different managers and they all say "we will be getting more carts in, they are on order." Why not just send someone out at a set time to collect carts? Oh there's an idea.

Kroger clicklist

I am a regular shopper at Kroger and frequent user of "Clicklist" online shopping. I also regularly purchase Marie Callander pot pies. My son loves them and they are really convenient. On my last online grocery purchase, I noticed that the pot pies had actually ice and frost on them. I recalled that this was not the first time I had seen this. Also that some of the pot pie boxes were so wet and warped, they ripped open and fell out. I kept thinking "why are the boxes always soggy, but frost and is on them as well". It didn't even cook the same. It was soggy and the crust was gummy. Then I realized...what I had been given was the defrosted and refrozen "go backs" that they couldn't and wouldn't put in the store but sold instead to clicklist customers. THIS IS FRAUD! As a single parent and educator who works very hard for the money I spend at Kroger, I'm really appalled. this not the first time nor the only Kroger Clicklist store where this "bait and switch" has taken place. As I recall, it has taken place at at least 3 different Krogers where I pick up my groceries. This experience has made me question the whole Clicklist option. Am I supposed to be sacrificing quality for convenience? Is this what the customer deserves?
