KitchenAid Range kseg950ess5: parts missing from a new stove, kitchenaid will not supply

Purchased a KitchenAid KSEG950ESS5 range. Appliance store said it came without a power cord, and ordered me one. When unboxed, the stove had a 4-conductor cord (NEMA 14-20) attached. My house has a 3-wire circuit (NEMA 10-20), so I needed the cord anyway.

An electrician removed the factory cord, but found 2 parts needed were missing - a ground strap or ground link, and a ground link screw. These parts are shown in the installation manual as needed for a 3-wire connection, and to be removed for a 4-wire connection. He told me to get these parts before he could proceed.

I contacted KitchenAid service via their web chat line. The rep first said they could not find the parts. I referenced the page number and section in my installation manual (W11509601A) which has instructions for connecting either type of power cord. The rep said it was not in their manual, W10787365-RevB. That manual says the stove comes with a NEMA 14-20R connector and makes no reference to installing either type of power cord in the field.

The rep's next response was

"As a courtesy, we provide information to our consumers concerning the installation and operation of our appliances. Certain installation situations dictate more comprehensive knowledge. The expertise of an installer or servicer and informed judgment may better serve those more obscure scenarios."

Me: "I had an electrician in, and he said those parts are needed."

Rep: "Those parts are only available if the ranges that do not come with a cord. Since model number KSEG950ESS comes with a power cord then they are not needed. "

Me: "I still need the parts. I need to use a 3-wire cord."

Rep: "As I advised you earlier those parts are not available for model number KSEG950ESS. Here is the parts list for the range: https://s3.amazonaws.com/sm-backend-production-attachments/repair-parts-list-w11563668-reva.pdf."

Me: "If your resources are at a dead end, I need to escalate this."

Rep: "Because I am empowered to make decisions on behalf of KitchenAid, any resolution I can provide you would be KitchenAid's decision as a company."

My stove is still nonfunctional and not connected..

Desired outcome: I need the two parts, a ground strap and the ground link screw, sent to me ASAP.

KitchenAid Design and repair of refrigerator

Only four years ago, we purchased KitchenAid’s 5 door refrigerator (KRMF706ESS) and spent roughly $3,500. We thought we were purchasing a top-of-the-line appliance from a top-of-the-line company. We were unfortunately wrong on both counts. Our refrigerator has not worked since June and, after jumping through the hoops KitchenAid uses as a stalling tactic, we are no closer to having a working refrigerator. KitchenAid tells us only that our refrigerator is beyond its 1-year warranty and that they don’t know when they’ll have the part we need.

There are clear design flaws in this model, evidenced by the number of 1-star reviews on Kitchen Aid’s website, all showing the same problems. Our problems began with the "open door" alarm sounding with no door open. The inside lights had stopped working, along with the water/ice dispenser and almost all functions on the two control panels. We got a tech in and he told us that the panel in the lower left drawer had shorted out due to water getting in it. It is directly below the water dispenser and ice maker, so any spills or leaks will short the panel, which is not gasketed or protected in any way. The tech replaced the panel and wire harness (which was corroded). It cost $350 just for parts plus charge for the service call. This did not fix the problem. The tech said there’s other wiring inside the drawer that couldn’t be accessed. As a result, he would need to replace the whole drawer, costing us another $600+. So now, 4 years after purchasing this already expensive refrigerator, we’re going to be spending another $1,000 minimum! Meanwhile, the temperature started climbing. It ranges between 42 and 45 degrees - too warm to preserve food. The icemaker is also above freezing, so we had to empty it, as it began to leak and form a puddle on the brand new control unit. The freezer is just above freezing, so we had to move our food out of it. Of course, we can't adjust the temperature because the control panel doesn't work. The tech said this may or may not be part of the original problem, and he won't be able to tell until he replaces the drawer. So, we might wait months or even a year for the drawer, only to find there are more problems, and then maybe wait more months for more parts. And, finally, another even newer problem - the refrigerator is making so much noise it sounds like a helicopter ready to take off.

Aside from all the difficulty in getting replacement parts in an expedient manner, as well as KitchenAid's inability to say when they can have the first part we need, the fact that the control panel is right below potential leaks and spills while not waterproofed in any way is an incredibly bad design. It's especially unbelievable given the number of reviews that talk about the ice maker leaking. We have a minimum of $1000 in repairs on an expensive refrigerator that’s only 4 years old and the cost could climb even higher, given the newer problems with temperature and noise. We loved this refrigerator... while it was working, which probably accounts for some of the good reviews. But it's a disaster waiting to happen, and when it happens, it's bad. And, worst of all, you can no longer count on KitchenAid to stand behind their very expensive products. Let this be a warning. DON’T BUY KITCHENAID!

Addendum, several weeks later: Still nothing from KitchenAid. KitchenAid’s stock response… which they laughingly title “Social Care”… is: “…thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the concerns with your appliance and would like to review this further for you. Please reach out to us via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/KitchenAid or Twitter @KitchenAidCare. We look forward to speaking with you.”

Seriously? Facebook? Twitter? Aren’t you already talking to us on your review page? So OK… we contacted them on Facebook, posting this review which has all the info. Their response was to tell us the exact date we purchased our refrigerator (thanks, we knew that), that it is out of warranty (thanks, we knew that too), and to ask for the part number which you would think they’d know, since they knew everything else about our appliance and what specifically is broken. We provided that. Their response was “We understand your frustrations completely. However, due to the pandemic, we do have some unanticipated plant closures and production delays. We are currently working around the clock to fulfill orders, while also keeping in mind the health and safety of our employees. Unfortunately, this means that we do not have any further updates to share. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.” OK, great. What about your defective product? What about your poor design? What about the fact that after we pay to have all this work done, your ice makers leak, the control panel is right below it, not protected in any way, and it will short out again. Is that the fault of covid?

The bottom line is… KitchenAid is taking no responsibility for their product, the issues getting parts may or may not have anything to do with Covid, and… their mode of communication stinks.

Desired outcome: New refrigerator. Or at least properly repaired and a guarantee that the problem will not reoccur.

I am in the midst of a war with Kitchen Aid too Apparently design flaws are their specialty Our ice maker stopped working It isn't under warranty so we had a repairman come out thinking there was a motor we had to replace As soon as he saw it he said the wires for the ice maker are at the bottom if the freezer door and opening and closing the door caused them to wear SOLUTION? Replace the door at a cost of $875 plus installation I took it all the way to the CEO and they will give me 15% discount towards a new garbage product Now dealing with BBB and Consumer Affairs They have no regard for customers

We have the exact same refrigerator (4 1/2 years old) and have had all of the same problems you have had. As to the helicopter noise, they just put in new parts less than a month ago for that. Had to completely empty the unit so they could install the new part and found it was already rusted. Yesterday, it just quit working, however, it had power as the lights worked except, they were very dim in the refrigerator. After two reboots, still nothing. Then more than an hour after the last reboot, it started running again. Still very dim lights. At least our food has been saved. Fortunately, we purchased the 5-year extended warranty from Hartville Hardware, and they have been excellent. I think the cost for all four appliances was about $250. Best money ever spent! Last evening (Friday about 5:30pm), when I called, of course, their service department was closed. They offered to see if they could get us a loaner delivered on Saturday. Since the refrigerator is now running, I called them this morning and declined the loaner and asked for a service call asap as something is definitely still wrong. Due to the extended warranty, all of our parts and service calls have been at no charge. We also purchased the matching range. All of the knobs were spinning as they are plastic inside and were stripped. Hartville Hardware replaced all four at no charge. They now have metal insides. Funny all knobs are made in China! So much for American made Kitchenaid! I have placed a call to Kitchenaid and the automated answer is a return call in five days...unbelieveable. I was thinking of demanding a new refrigerator, but, I am guessing they will just laugh at me after reading your post! Good luck to you.

Final attempt. The faulty refrigerator stopped making ice all while the dispenser still remained inoperable and leaking rusty water. When the repair man arrived today it was discovered the rusty leaking water has ruined the deli tray motherboard. This is absolutely ridiculous.

KitchenAid Stand Mixer

As a Canadian, I would suggest no one buy the KitchenAid stand mixer. This mixer has an issue with the gearbox leaking grease. This problem is known and recognized and if I were in the US I could send the mixer to be repacked with grease by KitchenAid.

This service is not available in Canada, and the customer service proposed “solution” is to talk to my baker to see who they use to repair their commercial equipment.

In other word, no solution at all. CAVEAT EMPTOR - Buyer Beware

Desired outcome: KitchenAid to provide fairly priced equipment repair to customers regardless of location.

KitchenAid Kitchenaid refrigerator

We purchased a brand new refrigerator from KitchenAid after our old one went out. We have only had the refrigerator for 4 months when the compressor went out and now have a refrigerator that no longer works. The repair person said that the part needed is not in stock anywhere in the US and it could be months before the part arrives. How can this be acceptable by this company to have such a horrible product that will break after 4 months of use. Unacceptable!

Desired outcome: Replace the refrigerator with one that works.

KitchenAid Refrigerator krmf706e

This refrigerator has been the absolute worst appliance I've ever owned in my life. I have had nothing but issues since day 1

1. ice maker is not working,

2. The lights have gone out in the unit twice,

3. Has stopped cooling on me multiple times. it stopped cooling again!

The worst part about this is if I hadn't paid for insurance when I bought this fridge, I would be throwing away $4,000.00 plus my medication and food.

KitchenAid French door refrigerator

About 6 months ago the interior lights went out on our new French door refrigerator that cost $2600. We called the dealer, who promised to get in contact with a repair shop. We HAD to keep calling them and the repair department to get a part and to get it fixed.

On July 5, 2022 The same lights went out. My husband called customer service. The representative said there is nothing they can do but will send a $25 gift card. A gift card! We have a 5 year warranty on this refrigerator but the representative doesn't show any information about that. We are frustrated. There has to be something else wrong with the wiring or computer system in the refrigerator. We want answers, a response and we want the issue fixed!

Desired outcome: We want the refrigerator looked at, gone over and fixed.

KitchenAid New down draft range installation

All I want to do is speak with a knowledgeable person ab this range installation after removal of present range. Forget that! Getting a real person is impossible. And I doubt that one would be available in US anyway. Waited 6+ months for delivery then installer had no idea on how to modify fan and exhaust. I had to call contractor son who is extremely busy; but he has questions in order to make this new range exhaust system fit into present venting system without destroying flooring according to KAide diagrams.

Now if I can ever get someone in customer service...

I just got a KitchenAid downdraft range. The installation manual was incomprehensible, though a YouTube video supplied missing information.

My problem was missing parts needed for a 3-wire electrical connection. The installation manual shows the parts needed for a 3-wire connection, but to be removed for a 4-wire connection. The range came with a 4-wire power cord already installed, and without the parts needed for a 3-wire connection.

It took some doing to get a customer service rep, whose response was I don't know what these parts are. I referenced the page and section in the installation manual. Their (newer) version of the manual the rep was looking at said it came with a power cord, and made no reference to installing any power cord. The rep said that since the range came with a cord, the parts I was asking about were not necessary.

I asked if that was as far as they could take the issue, could I get this issue escalated, to which the reply was (and this is a direct quote) "Because I am empowered to make decisions on behalf of KitchenAid, any resolution I can provide you would be KitchenAid's decision as a company."

Guess if I will ever consider a KitchenAid (or Whirlpool, their parent) product again.

KitchenAid Dishwasher

bought a new kitchenaid dishwasher end of March. It leaves white lines all down inside and outside of glasses. Dishes are white so not sure if they are stripped or not. I have tried multiple settings on dishwasher and always same. Called Kitchenaid and they sent out someone to look at dishwasher and told me if not warranty problem then would cost me $ 80.00 for not warranty problem I was ask what type of detergent and rinse aid I use. Told cascade platinum and finish. Said maybe I should try something different and told me I needed to run hot water in my sink until was very hot before I started my dishwater. This is my 4th dishwater, First was ceramic and a hole rusted throught bottom. 2nd was Bosch which I loved but after 7 years could not get to run. 3rd kinas Fridgidare that started leaking around door and couldn't get stopped. I did not have to run hot water to sink before running them and I never had a washing problem out of any of them. The only way I can get the glasses even tolerable is to use hot wash, sani rinse, and heated dry, This seems like a total waste of hot! I know no one will reply but I needed to vent I will never by a Kitchenaid product again. By the way this useless dishwasher, since I have to hand rinse after, cost 1200.00 Now isn/t that a joke

Desired outcome: A dishwasher that will clean my dishes or a full refund. We also purchased a 5 year warranty with this dishwasher

KitchenAid New freezer component that went out within 3 months

We bought a Kitchen Aid french door refrigerator and within a year the freezer started making a continuous loud noise and the freezer was not defrosting at all. We called Kitchen Aid and they stated they would need to schedule an appointment with Lake Appliance since it was still under warranty this was in January of 2022. The appointment was made and we had to pay the service call up front to Lake Appliance and then the day before our scheduled appointment we were cancelled and put off for another two weeks, in which they called the morning of the new appointment 2/9/2022 to cancel again, but the tech told them he was keeping the appointment. He came out and ordered the parts needed and then came back on 2/24/2022 and put the parts into the freezer. The freezer was working fine until May 1, 2022 and the same noise came back and the freezer was doing the same thing not defrosting. Called Kitchen Aid again, appointment scheduled, again had to pay for the service fee. The new part wasn't even at least 3 months old. We are told now we are to pay for the new part and the labor which is about $750, since the refrigerator is out of warranty. The part should still be under warranty and the labor should still be under the 90 days. We have contacted Kitchen Aid with no satisfaction. We are trying to be patient but have not heard back from Lake Appliance since the second time they came out on 5/24/2022. We have called and emailed but no one is calling us back. We are without a refrigerator now and no one wants to help resolve the issue unless we pay the $750 not knowing if this issue will happen again. The model #KRMF706EBS Serial #KX1011552 The part is the evap fan motor kit Bi-metal/thermistor sensor. We hope we can get this resolved since the refrigeratior was over $4000. Thank you, Fran and Scott

Desired outcome: We would like this fixed and paid for by Kitchen Aid if not then a new refrigerator replacement

KitchenAid Extended warranty on kitchenaid microwave.

We purchased a Kitchenaid Microwave/Convention oven in early 2021 and it was installed on March 15, 2021. We purchased an extended warranty through what we believed to be Kitchenaid, however it was passed along through AIG Warranty Guard. We had our first mechanical issue on April 4th. The service provider was Advanced Appliance that services Kitchenaid products. They were out April 4th, April 7th, April 13h, April 22nd, May 3rd and May 20th. After numerous attempts of the repairman telling, Kitchenaid/Whirlpool that the product was not able to be repaired, all Kitchenaid would do is to require more service. Finally, our next step was to have one more opinion and Kitchenaid/Whirlpool required that Moore's Appliance come out. They did on May 27, 2022. At that time the Whirlpool customer service finally agreed that the product was not able to be repaired. So relieved after all this time and energy that the product was going to be replaced, that was not the case. After contacting Whirpool with our file number, we had to wait and have it reviewed by Whirlpool's extended Warranty Department. Finally they agreed that it was once again not able to be repaired. But no, that wasn't enough we then had to go through AIG the extended warranty company that would process the claim. But that wasn't even enough, then it had to be sent to someone else who had to do the paperwork. The insurance information says the product will be replaced or they would buy out the contract. When we asked for it to be replaced AIG said we don't have any products and it is at our sole discretion as to either replace or buy out. So I said you never replace the product and they said no. Then they said this is the amount we will give you $1,450, although we paid $2,199 plus tax plus installation. They said 75% of the purchase price and it does not include tax or installation. We didn't even get 75% of our purchase price and their response was that is what they had filed in the system.

To start Whirlpool offers the AIG Extended Warranty. The warranty information is misleading. We spent $180.78 for the extended warranty for less than three weeks of coverage and ended up with 70% of what we paid for the product.

I would like the following -

1. Whirlpool to make clear when they are offering the extended warranty the terms. That the product through the extended warranty is never replaced by AIG and the maximum AIG pays out for any product is 75%. We were less than three weeks into the extended warranty.

2. There is no-proration on the timing of the extended warranty. I would like the total we paid for this warranty refunded. $180.78.3. In addition I would like the difference from what I paid for the product and what AIG is giving us $749.96 + tax $153.99 + installation $150.00 = $1,053.95.4. The purchase price now to replace the unit is $2,799. So I am requesting the difference $600 + tax $42.00 = $642.00

Total $180.78 + $1,053.95 + $642 = $1,876.63

5. When calling AIG Warranty Guard they answer as Whirlpool - but they really aren't - or are they? Very deceptive on Whirlpools end. This should be fixed.

Submitted by

Mary Bernel [protected]@attglobal.net 919.656.6507 cell (567.203.2185)-number the claim has on file my husband Mark Bernel's cell.

Desired outcome: Whirlpool becomes transparent with the type of extended warranty they are offering. A refund in the amount of $1,878.63 to make us whole.

Wow! That's a really nice fridge. It's somewhat difficult to get you hands on.

Unfortunately, without knowing what is taking place on each service can, it's difficult to know exactly why the delays are occurring. Parts have been difficult to come by since the beginning of the pandemic.

Keep the faith. It's well worth it.

KitchenAid Garbage microwave and dishwasher

In house less than 3 years with brand new kitchenaid microwave that stopped working and parts aren't available for repair. Had to replace soap dispenser in dishwasher a month ago and now the motor is gone. Total garbage appliances that will be in the landfill. Total disregard for the planet and consumers!

KitchenAid Dishwasher

Bought a KitchenAid dishwasher for my 88 year mother with cancer, it worked 3 weeks, which is like 3 times for her. Service man has been out 3 times, 2 different problems, and this last one is that it needs a new tub which is on back order. I have talked to everyone about replacing it but they will not do it, all they say is it’s warranty work. Things should last longer than 3 weeks. So for now my 88 year old mom with cancer has to wash her dishes or someone has to go out to do them for her. Will never buy KitchenAid again. Dishwasher bad but customer service is worse!

Desired outcome: Replace her dishwasher or refund so she can get one that works

Totally agree with your assessment of the quality and customer service. KitchenAid is another once great brand that has been obtained and destroyed by the Whirlpool Corporation.

Claiming parts unavailability is a cop-out, if they have parts to make new products with to sell, they have parts that they could use to repair the defective products they sell. It's just not profitable for them to provide warranty service.

Read your warranty, and if the Whirlpool Corp. refuses to meet their terms, take the matter to the BBB, and then the MI Attny. Gen. if necessary.

KitchenAid is another decent brand that Whirlpool has bought out and seems to be in the process of destroying, even as they have destroyed once great American brands such as Maytag and their own brand.

If Whirlpool refuses to fix it in a reasonable time, file a report with the BBB, Whirlpool does listen to them (I know from experience). You can also file a report with the Michigan Attorney General.

If new machines are available, then parts are available, after all, parts are what new machines are made from. So to say parts are unavailable is a cop-out. It's just that Whirlpool is more eager to sell their products because that's where the money is, they don't make money from servicing their defective products under warranty.

Hi Shari.

I'd love to assist.

Kitchenaid has a strong presence in the dishwasher industry. They are absolutely considered one of the very top brands.

Which model did you select for her? It's likely a model with the numbers 104, 204, 404 etc in the description.

Because of the pandemic, many manufacturers have had a difficulty providing parts — KitchenAid is no different.

Whereas parts are currently unavailable, retailers can gladly exchange the unit within certain time-frames. They can simply apply for an RA (return authorization) from the manufacturer. Did you, by any chance, purchase the additional warranty coverage through them?

Look forward to hearing from you.

It really doesn't matter I purchased a five year warranty through kitchenaid and after over a dozen service calls and everything being replaced some things three times. Still leaks, it is a design flaw.

They just say schedule a service call. It is a company that could do the right thing in one day but chose to take years doing the wrong thing.

KitchenAid Multi door refrigerator

I'm writing this in reference to my Kitchen Aid multi door platinum interior black stainless refrigerator KA-KRMF706EBS. This item was purchased in May 2018 from Appliances on Lakeside located in Henrico Va.

I called Boughton Appliance on Lakeside located in Henrico Va on 9/20/21 for the ice maker not making ice and to replace freezer seal. OK long story short... techs came out 3 times finally replaced seal but did not repair/replace ice maker... I was told that a part/circuit board had to be ordered and was ordered at that time 11/21...

On 2/3/22 I (myself) called Software to inquire about my needed part left messages and sent emails...

Finally 3/22 got a message back from Software part was ordered... and here it is last day of March no part and no one knows anything!

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response, a repair, a replacement.

Hi Ms Garner.

You have good taste. That's a wonderful fridge.

The entire market is having problems with part availability, ultimately a reflection of the Covid aftermath.

I know it's difficult but patients is almost a necessity during these trying times. It's definitely worth the wait.

KitchenAid built-in microwave KMCS3022GSS

The magnetron failed on this 2.5 year-old built-in microwave. There is no replacement part for this unit. KitchenAid will not replace the unit unless it is within the warranty period, which my unit was not. I do not think it is acceptable for a very expensive piece of kitchen equipment to fail in under 3 years with no resolution other than replacement at the consumer's cost.

Desired outcome: I want a new microwave and installation paid for by KitchenAid. They don't make a replacement part and the product failed 2.5 years after it was manufactured.

I can hopefully be of some help.

First, contact the retailer that you purchased the unit through. Many offer additional service packages that will take responsibility for the service or replacement of the microwave.

Also, it's worth checking with local service centers. Knowing the needed part, many have access to new old stock (NOS) that can be used to service the unit.

Hopefully that helps.

Hi Mr Finigan.

I can appreciate your frustration. KitchenAid makes some great ranges and is good choice for many consumers. As it turns out, purchasing the additional warranty coverage was also smart, in this case. Even the best products can have problems, as this experience can surely prove.

I wouldn't hesitate replacing it with another KitchenAid. They have a unique look you may prefer. That particular model is extremely well made; unfortunately you just ran into a problem.

I fail to see how telling people not to hesitate to purchase the same brand that has let them down so badly, and that research will show you is owned by a corporation (Whirlpool) that has in recent years proven to fail in quality and service, is being helpful.

Again why are you shilling for the appliance industry, particularly Whirlpool?

I appreciate the question Jeff.

Which brand would you recommend?

As I just said elsewhere, when the Maytag washer was trashed I did my research and got a Speed Queen. If had to get a new range I would likewise do my research.

Even if there was no decent brand of range left, whatever I got, I wouldn't run around telling everyone what a great and fantastic product it is and how well it's made. The Whirlpool Corp. in particular has shown itself to be a very untrustworthy organization.

Why do you continue to promote inferior brands?

So you recommend Speed Queen?

Speed Queen - speed queen commercial heavy duty model awn432sp113tw04

I have been helping with laundry since I was about 6 years old. In basement over a burner in boiling water, in a bathtub, using a wringer wash machine. several apartments, and our three homes. The latest being the Speed Queen. Liked the stainless steel tub. Unfortunately it has been a disaster as it doesn't spin the clothes out worth a darn. It has left water standing in the tub at the bottom, and I can sometimes wring water out of clothing. We have had repair people here several times and parts have been replaced. But problem still exists. I do not overload the machine ever. I've been told not to use liquid softner or sheets. I'm sure they must have been kidding. It's nice to know it's energy efficient. The problem is we often put it through another spin cycle and need to then dry the clothes through 2 or 3 dryer cycles. Not so energy conservative. It was purchased in 2018 and I've given up that it is ever going to work properly. I would like to get money back for this horrible machine.

Desired outcome: money back

Speed Queen - Horrible Washing Machine

Purchased a washing machine in September 2020. Upon the first use, the machine made this horrible annoying knocking noise. It is now February 2021 and after multiple service calls, we still have this machine with it's horrible annoying knocking noise! A local technician was just here yet again today, and was even on the phone with Speed Queen for over an hour trying to get help to repair it, and still nothing. No one seems to no what is causing the noise, or how to fix it. Wouldn't it make sense to replace the machine? Perhaps it's defective? Or am I just suppose to take multiple more days off work to accomodate technicians until they get it fixed?

Desired outcome: Replacement Machine

I purchased 6 Speed Queen appliances (3 washing machines, 3 dryers) in May and June of 2019 from ABT Electronics, 1200 Milwaukee, Glenview IL. My complaint is with Speed Queen, not with ABT. 4 of the appliances were delivered to 412 Pleasant Street in Beloit, WI and the remaining 2 appliances were delivered to 5056 W. Winnemac in Chicago IL. The appliances in WI serviced 6 apartments and the appliances in IL serviced 3 apartments.

In just a little over a year 2 of the 3 dryers lost their power knobs. The parts that fell off were under warranty, but the labor to reinstall replacements was not. I am very disappointed with the fact that 2 out of the 3 dryers needed to be repaired in such a short period of time.

I called the Customer Relations number listed for Speed Queen (Alliance) and was twice disconnected. I subsequently called Alliance directly and when I spoke to a gentleman in the department for "Dryer Maintenance" he told me that he had never received my complaint before, and my tenants must have been extremely hard on the new appliances. The appliances I provided were for two separate, smaller unit properties in two different states. My tenants were not the problem with the dryers, the problem was with the appliances.

I am extremely disappointed not only with the fact that I had to repair the appliances so quickly, but with the attitude and reaction of the gentleman to whom I reported my issue. His attitude in short was...the problem can't be here, it must be you.

I won't be recommending Speed Queen in the future to any of my friends, or colleagues.

Sincerely,

Amy Arnold

I purchased Speed Queen front load washer and the companion driver with electronic panels in November 2015. I have had some performance concerns with both the washer and dryer that have not been adequately addressed but what is most disturbing is that the door on the washer fell off its plastic hinge and it's not covered under warranty. I had to pay $250 to replace the plastic hinge. For a company that claims that their products are built to last "25 years" and charges more than double their competitors is a huge shame. We used to have a front loading machine and drier for 11 years with only one repair.

There are a bunch more complaints, and that's just on this actual site. I'm sure you get the idea. Surely you, of anyone, wouldn't dare promote which is also such an inferior product — would you?

KitchenAid Refrigerator model no. Krfc704fps04

I have purchased all my kitchen appliances (cooktops, double ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators) from KitchenAid since 1990. I have loved all of them and other than ice makers, never had any problems. I purchased a French door counter depth refrigerator in 2017. The ice maker failed repeatedly, all parts were replaced over time and finally an entire new ice maker was put in which also failed. In the fall of 2021 when the new ice maker failed I was told I would be getting a new refrigerator. It was delivered a few months later in November 2021. Last week on March 10 the ice maker on the new fridge failed but we soon found out the freezer itself wasn’t working. After waiting a week for the factory authorized repair person, I was told it needs two new parts one of which is a control board. The repairman said the parts are on back order for at least 3 weeks if they could even get them because this model had been discontinued. I expressed my frustration at having to wait three weeks plus another week for them to schedule a return visit. In the meantime I have no ice maker AND no freezer. I requested a replacement fridge as this is clearly a “lemon”, needing major repair after less than 6 months. I was told the only way I could get it replaced was if the part did not come within 21 days. I called customer service, then corporate headquarters only to be told the same thing.

Using my phone number to look at my account it is possible to see not only what I have been through since 2017 but also all of the appliances I have purchased including this $4,000 + fridge. Making someone wait more than a month to get a working freezer is not acceptable especially since my husband and I have health issues and we can’t just run out to buy ice. And there is also the issue of the cost of spoiled food that I have had to throw out because it spoiled.

Kitchen Aid customer support has failed me miserably. I hope someone high on the chain of command reads this and does something to resolve my problem, if I didn’t love the fridge and especially the ice cubes I would go for another brand.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Desired outcome: Replace refrigerator immediately!

Hi Carolyn.

You have good taste. The krfc704fps is an extremely popular fridge. It's frustrating when things don't work as one might expect. It's wonderful Kitchenaid is working with you on the issue even though you're in the fifth year of ownership.

I know it's difficult, but be patient. The entire industry is still dealing with ramifications from the pandemic and many parts are in short supply.

You might contact the retailer you purchased the fridge through. Many offer additional service packages that might assist you. They might be able to help by getting you a small freezer as a backup while you wait for this unit to be serviced. Whereas you depend on it for health reasons, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an extra around the house.
