Kaiser Permanente Most rude customer service rep

Spoke with one of Kaiser's GA rep named Victoria to verify member's eligibility and just WOW! She speaks fast and I know it's because she knew that I'm for a different country because of how I speak English. We're both working, girl! She kept on murmuring like "Oh my gosh bla bla bla". First of all, it's your JOB to take calls, help us providers and answer questions we have. It's your nature Americans to mock, to be racist, to humiliate other nationalities just because we can't be fluent in English. I just hope you can bring your manners to work. (If you really have that)

Kaiser Permanente Customer service /doctors office

I took a client in today for a check up, we were late due to his dementia but we made it to his appointment. My client was getting anxious so thinking it will still be a while I went to look for some mints. When I arrived back the wife and husband were called in. I approached one of the staff to take me to the room, I needed to be their so I can hear what the doctor had to say so the wife doesn't forget. I need to give the information to the daughter. I get called in when everything is done. While I was waiting in the lobby there is all this laughing when there was no laughing at any other time. This is unacceptable in my books. I once was insured by kaiser, had some difficulty, I ended up leaving kaiser as my primary hospital, doctor, etc.

Kaiser Permanente The follow up appointment regarding my post surgery condition and status.

My gallbladder surgery was performed on 8/23/2018 by a Dr. Hoe. Prior to my release I was instructed and even given papers on the follow up appointment that was scheduled for me on 8/31/2018 at 8:45 am . This call never came and I called Kaiser askIng what happened because as it turns out I have several issues regarding my pain and have even returned to the urgent care at Kaiser Fontana on 8/25/2018 for which I later found I had liver levels above normal and I was also suffering from dehydration which was treated with an IV bag there in urgent care. So when I called they told me the Dr. hoe was apparently in surgery and would call me back in 2 hours and I said sure fine. Two hours later still no call so I called back again and this time the lady on the other time tries to tell me, " the Dr. said he called you at the scheduled time 8:45 and got your machine twice ." I assure you this was and is a lie and very insulting as I explained to the lady I just spoke to another person telling me the Dr. couldn't have called me because he was in surgery supposedly?! I am in a great deal of pain and as a result of all this unprofessionalism I still have had no follow up as was called for and ordered.

Kaiser Permanente Biopsy results

To whom it may concern,

I would like to write a formal complaint about the way in which my biopsy results have been handled. I had surgery through Kaiser Permanente on July 25th of this year, 2018. My doctor was head and neck specialist Dr. Anna Barbara.

I had a mass in my neck, otherwise knows as an enlarged lymphnode that needed to be removed for testing. To my knowledge there was no complications during the operation and everything went as planned.

The reason for my complaint is that it is now the 24th of August and I have yet to hear the results from the biopsy. The doctor has informed me a couple of times (after I contacted her first) that the results are still pending and that the mass has been taken in for a second evaluation. From what I understand, a biopsy should not take a month to get the results. I feel the doctor isn't treating this as priority and getting this resolved in the timely manner that it should be taken care of. I have been left in the dark, not communicated to, and given no direct answers over something as serious as what might potential be cancer.

Please understand my concern and frustration as I write this. I need to know results, especially after a month has expired!

Thank you for your time!

Kaiser Permanente Cobra premium

I received my paperwork for CONTA coverage the beginning of March 2018. I decided to sign up for it, since I needed medical for 2 months before my new job's insurance. Bad mistake. Not only did they deposit it, but I wasn't covered for the month of snatch. 1st time I called after mailing the payment, rep said should only take a few days to kick in. Less than a week later, check was mailed locally to her. I still had no coverage and check had not cleared. I called again and this time was told I had to speak to my work regarding COBRA even after I told her that I already spoke to them and was told they don't handle because a Kaiser prefers to handle it directly. I called my work again and was told to contact Kaiser. I called and spoke to the same rep who again said I had to talk to my work. Meantime my check cleared my account and I was showing no coverage.

3rd call spoke to same rep again. After insisting she speak to a supervisor she finally admitted she was wrong and it takes 30-35 days to process COBRA to which I said, "Cancel my coverage, because at the end of 45 days I would almost be on my new employers." I also mentioned my check cleared. I got an answer to my complaint and request for refund. They refused even though they admitted I had no coverage for the month of March. Even if I had written the required termination letter it wouldn't take effect until the next month. But they were more than happy to take a retro letter pushing it back to April instead of May. I am extremely angry and upset with Kaiser. There was no way to terminate March in February and not only that they admitted that I paid for no coverage in March and too bad they were keeping my money despite providing me no coverage.

They are crooks who take your money and if you are entitled to a refund too bad. Also sorry if you had no coverage for the month you paid. Kaiser will be more than happy to go after someone if you had an accident, but when it comes to money they owe you they will lie and cheat you to keep it. For a non profit that is not supposed to be making money off of their customers they are crooks. I love their doctors but their accounting dept is crooked and they need to be investigated for their behavior.

Updated on 05/17/2018: So Kaiser told me I had to appeal to Managed Health Care after my denial by them. They told MHC I was covered the whole month of March, grant it was retroactively and that I asked them to terminate April 1st. Not only that they denied refund again. The things they will do to keep money. Fact #1, I was not covered until March 19th. I called practically almost every day to find out my coverage status. I was told to pay out of my pocket until then and then they would reimburse. After all, I have thousands of dollars for that right. Emergency room for asthma attack, medicine, and counseling appointment. Definitely did not have, plus knowing Kaiser they would take months to reimburse and then skyrocket their prices so I would get less back.

Fact #2 their own contact who talked to me initially about the complaint denial admitted the grievance team did not have all the facts, like their reps giving wrong info and that Medi-Cal covered my emergency room visit earlier that month. Also, I had to cancel a counseling appointment due to no coverage. But, oh sorry they only review once and that is it. But if MHC finds in my favor they will refund. Not, they are fighting to keep the money and lying to do it. Also, their solution. They will talk to their reps. By the way to this day still give wrong info. That April 1st effective date, was their doing. They initially told me to not pay April and it would terminate on its own. Another lie by one of their reps. The day I got their denial in mid April, they told me I needed to write a letter to cancel and they were going to make it retroactive to April 1st out of courtesy.

The whole reason for their denial, I didn't cancel the month prior. Which is impossible with COBRA, because paperwork does not get sent until month coverage ended by employer which would be March. Not only that because I had an emergency visit at the beginning of March, which I used Medi-Cal because I had no coverage with Kaiser at the time. If they don't refund my money. I don't know what to do next.

I sent a letter of complaint to Kaiser regarding their failure to address the bone spur in my left knee which caused undue stress to my right leg. I now have pain every day, my right leg is stiff, I cannot bend it and I can't talk walks due to the stiffness. I have tried physical therapy with minimal results. Kaiser wrote me back: "We have determined that there was no negligence associated with the treatment you received at Kaiser, relative to the complaints raised in your [protected] letter." Kaiser is a bloated, insulated company that advertises how compassionate they are, with the slogan "Thrive". The only ' thriving' is Kaiser's pocket book. Because their members can not sue Kaiser, they are protected from ever having to face the fraudulent practices that keep their costs down, at the expense of their patients. My advise, Run away from Kaiser as fast as you can, I did and the new facility immediately upon my first appt. scheduled an x-ray which showed the bone spur, And, they fixed it. Unfortunately, the damage to my leg muscles is still affecting me. Gabriele Toremann

I'm astounded at how many Kaiser 'member's are so loyal, not knowing the cheap methods used by Kaiser and how they affect their member's health.

Kaiser Permanente Cobra monthly premium & no coverage

I mailed in my COBRA payment for the month of March 2018, the beginning of March, because I wasn't sent the paperwork until the beginning of March. I called Kaiser before mailing the paperwork & payment to find out how long it would take to process once received. I was told it would take a couple of days. So I called less than a week later, because the mailing address is local and I was told by the rep that I needed to contact my work and they don't handle COBRA. I told her I already had contacted them and they were told by Kaiser that Kaiser would only handle the COBRA and no one else. So I called and confirmed with my work that was still the case. Again I called Kaiser and talked to the same rep, who still insisted COBRA was handled by my work and not them. I told her what I was told and finally after telling her the same thing numerous times, she finally decided to ask around. She finally admitted she was wrong and she had found out it take 30-45 days to process COBRA. To which point I might have not signed up, because my new job's insurance would be almost in effect by then. A few days later I noticed my check cleared and I still had no coverage. I talked to a different rep who apologized and it was normal to take 30-45 days. I then filed a complaint and asked for a refund of my March premium. I received a denial letter a few days ago stating that I was denied because no termination letter was sent. Not only that termination would not be effective until the month following the letter. Also, they are granting me a retro termination letter to be effective April. Meantime they admitted I had no coverage in March. So too bad I lost $558.96 for March COBRA premium, for having no coverage. That is just plain crooked. No way I could have terminated March coverage in February, when I didn't receive the paperwork until March. Also, how can they hold my money for a month they admitted they didn't cover. Kaiser is a crooked insurance company who flat out refuses to refund people their money they are owed behind twisted rules. They know they are wrong but they refuse to refund. But if you are in an accident, they will do whatever it takes to go after their money from the person in the wrong. I loved my doctors, but this is plain wrong and believe me if I can help not coming back. I will make sure I don't.

Kaiser Permanente Kaiser permanente

On 11/25/2018 I called kaiser nurse help hoping to maybe get some over the counter meds for a small pain I was getting in my left testicle. It felt a little swollen but I wasn't experiencing emergency care. After explaining to the nurse my symptoms she immediately started saying that I needed to rush to the emergency room nearest me and she guided me where to go. Again I didn't feel I needed to go but she was almost making me feel as if something bad was happening. After being admitted I told the nurse that I really wasn't in bad pain and even after the dr checked my stomach/abdomin I told her it didn't hurt! The dr ordered the ultra sound which I don't believe was necessary and of course I can't afford the cost and went over my coverage with but just went ahead with test which I would have not approved knowing my insurance didn't cover. They found now i'm stuck paying for a 3 hour stay at hospital,,,

Kaiser Permanente Lack of care, rude service, misdiagnosed, ect.

I strongly advocate for never getting Kaiser Permanente health insurance. I do not think this organization is dedicated to offering the best healthcare, but the opposite.

My family switched to Kaiser six years ago and for the first four years I was relatively happy with the service we all received.

Obama Care happened; and this flooded the Kaiser medical facilities with new members. Kaiser did not bother to employ enough medical staff. The waits doubled, seeing specialist was a month or more for a appointment, and I felt like a number.

Their policies on chronic pain changed, and I was forced off Tylonel 3. It was horrible because I had not only painful extreme IBS, but also a severely herniated disk. Due to my stomach issues I cannot take motrin based medication for long term. So my doctor made me suffer in agony.

My son was treated badly in the ER, and misdiagnosed; by this heartless ER doctor. She actually screamed at my son who was barfing uncontrollably! I guess if you work as a doctor at Kaiser you must lack empathy and have a black hole where your heart should be.

The last ER visit I had two doctors examed and pressed hard on the left side where I was having horrible pain. It was because the doctors thought I was faking. After a CAT scan showed diverticulitis. They both felt stupid. I was not drug seeking.

My personal witch of a doctor decided to take some much needed medication for my stomach and herniated disk. She did not discuss this with me; nor are these narcotics! When some type of nodules were found on my lungs and liver; not in a CAT scan four months prior, my doctor showed no concern. She did not bother to set a appointment to ease my fears, she had her snarky nurse write me that I needed to have a CAT scan in a year, without explaining anything! You just find out there are these growths that developed suddenly; and her advice is to get a scan in a year. I adviced my doctor or her snarky nurse that if they could please send the results of the CAT scan via KP.Org, or at least the results for my new doctor to look over. She, of course, refused. WTF?! I bad results sent to me this way prior. So she was just a [censor].

I can go on and on. To when I was in agony and my doctor refused to contact me. How he became rude and distant? So I got a worse doctor who seemed nice amd turned into a total [censor]? I requested my medical records over a week ago; of course these recorda have not showed up. I have a doctor's appointment in a few days. F you Kaiser I hate you, and glad I will never have to deal with you again!

My family has been with Kaiser for six years. The last two have been horrible. I feel like a number, not a person. There is no individualized care. It is cookie cutter for everyone. Nor do I feel this health group have your best interest at heart. It seems the "healthcare" professionals are more concerned about protocols and the bottom line. The waits are long... If you need to make a appointment with a specialist it is a month or two.. If you have to sign in... It takes 20 minutes; ER is 8 hours plus.. Urgent Care is 4 hours plus. They need to hire more dam doctors for the influx of Obama patients!

I live in Orange County and some of the Kaiser facilities are truly beautiful. But inside doctors truly do not care about you... You are a number on your Kaiser Card.

Things started turning bad for me two years ago. My primary care doctor became cold and distant. He started asking me questions about what I was doing with my Tylonal 3. Such as if I sold it. It actually made me laugh because it was absurd. He was never warm with me after thaf visit. One time I was having what he calls a episode of IBS so bad I can barely walk. This was shortly after seeing him and taking steriods for a herinated disk. I figured that is what caused the episode to flare up. I called him daily for almost a week for help as he instructed me too. Finally I had no choice but to head to the ER. Than my doctor's nurse played these stupid games over the phone. I felt horrible and did not want to participate in childish games.

My second doctor was okay, she also was a bit cold. She explained to me the drug protocols had changed, and I needed to not take that medication anymore. To be honest, I just went to a pain management clinic and paid cash for it. Or used natural remedy, also. Which I resented. Why does my husband pay for our dam insurance? But protocols are more important than my quality of life.

Fast forward I was refused surgery for my herniated disk. Which has also made my life a living hell. I was not even given medication I could take on a regular basis. As Motrin based and STEROIDs disagree with my stomach. Kaiser did not care. The ER doctors did not care. My primary, nor the urgent care. My physical medicine doctor told me it should be healed by now. Guess what, it is not!

I took my son barfing uncontrollably; and the doctor yelled at him, and did nothing for his pain and vomiting. She also misdiagnosed him. He actually has a serious condition. Where do these doctors get their degrees at Kaiser? Maybe in a Cracker Jack Box?!

My doctor third doctor seemed really nice and at first I really liked her. Not towards the end. She took of medication I need for my stomach and herniated disk. These are not narcotic drugs. She did not discuess this with me, just decided to erase them off my record because she is a witch. Who does that?

She also stopped medication I needed on a trip and refused to refill while I was on vacation on the otherside of the country. Real nice doctor!

I was in agony one night and ended up in the ER. Two doctors pressed on my stomach where it was hurting badly. This is because I had the nerve to ask for pain medication. The doctor had a CAT scan and I have diverticulitis! It was very painful. They assumed I was drug seeking. I guess I proved that I truly was in pain.

The CAT scan showed nodules growing inside my lungs and liver. I had a CAT scan four months earlier and these growths were not there. I found out from another doctor. The ER scheduled a appointment with a doctor without informing me. I happen to call the day prior to the appointment because I wanted a phone appointment with a doctor to explain what was wrong with me. As the paperwork and medication said two different things. The lady told me I have a appointment the next day. Nice of them to inform me!

My doctor responded via KP.org that my nodules were of no concern, and I needed to have a scan done in a year. So three nodules developed in a four month period; and I should not be concerned?! I told her I wanted a CAT scan at four months. Which is what the medical board advices. Kaiser's cheap [censor] wants the Kaiser
to kill you. Than they do not have to flip the medical bill if it is cancer.

My doctor, or nurse was defensive and rude after that message. You find out something is wrong with your body. Your doctor is supposed to support you. Instead I get a few snarky replies back. When I asked for the results of the CAT scan via KP.org, after happily telling my doctor I would no longer be at Kaiser; and wanted the advice of my new doctor... She refused. I got a referral to Living Well a class in LA. As if she give a care about my well being. Or I would drive into LA for a class! She needs to take a class in bedside manners! It is obvious she has none.
.
I went to the old doctor I had. She ordered all these test when sbe questioned me about my care. I went to the Kaiser office which handles records two weeks ago. Guess what, no medical records as of yet! Why should I be surprised! Thank you Kaiser for nothing you suck!

Kaiser Permanente Reception and ambulatory check in at the 4760 sunset building

Today, December 22nd, 2017 I brought in my mother who's 88 years old to get an Epidural shot in her lower back. We arrived at 6:50 AM for a 7:30 AM appointment.
Upon our arrival I stood at the reception desk where there is also an Ambulatory Check in desk . There were three employees at that check in chatting it up that was clearly not work related. The gentleman, Robert Oliva finally acknowledged me and without asking what I'm there for said reception for appointments arrive at 7:30 AM. I said ok and we took our seats where we patiently. At 7:26 AM a rush of people arrived and immediately got in the Ambulatory Check in line. I thought to myself I wonder if we should have checked into that line? At 7:30 AM Robert Oliva made eye contact with me to let me know that sometimes the receptionist run a bit late. At 7:40 AM the receptionist appeared tardy to work and holding a Starbucks coffee in her hand. Without greeting me, she asked for my mothers Kaiser card. Without any expression and looking absolutely miserable by the way. She says that I need to be in that line over there, the Ambulatory Check In. So this whole time without being asked by Robert Oliva and Roshunda Chappel. (The third employee who was there from the time we arrived was now off work at 7: 00 AM. I know this because as she passed by mother and I she gave a little smirk as she walked out the door).
At this point I'm quite irritated because if only I was asked what I was there for, none of this would have happened. As I made my way to the front of Roshunda's line I was shocked that she did not take any accountability for not having asked upon our arrival why we were there. She was so rude to me and completely ignored the fact that she wasn't doing her job because it was that important to be conversing with her coworkers. Also, I feel it's important for me to say this as well, being Caucasian I think it may have had a little something to do with it because while watching the comings and goings of others for the 30 minutes of waiting I had ample time observing the three employees. There was a definite significance between me and others. I honestly should have taken video so I could have the proof.
Now as we made our way to the second floor with our paperwork there is no signage where to put it. The second floor looks so institutionalized it's creepy. Upon meeting with Marilyn my moms RN nurse she was well aware of what happened to us downstairs that she wanted to make our experience better and she went above and beyond to make sure we left happier than when we arrived. She is a professional to say the least. No one in a medical facility should ever feel such high anxiety where the receptionist sets the tone.

Kaiser Permanente It's awful

I don't know where and whom to complain. It's probably the worst experience I have ever had dealing with customer service. They are too slow and make me wait for about one hour each time I call to make an appointment. It's very irritating and I am very tired of this. I have no idea what problem they have, I always thought that making an appointment is a fast thing and shouldn't take one hour of my life.
You should do something with this. This is horrible.

Kaiser Permanente Heart surgery redwood city kaiser member for over 35 years

My father and mother in law have been with Kaiser since my ex-husband was a child. Over 35 years they have been members. In December of 2016, my father-in-law had open heart surgery at the Santa Clara location. Unfortunately, we were told that the surgery didn't work and that is heart is still operating at 30%. He did everything he was told to do and Since he never regained the ability to taste his food and the fact that he could never get the swelling from his leg and foot, (at one point he was taking 100mg of a diuretic) 10 months after surgery he has stopped eating and won't take his pills. His brain is severely affected by his lack oxygen to the brain as well as the lack of nutrition and he is at 100 pounds. My sister-in-law along with my mother-in-law have called and called trying to get some assistant and his physician referred him to group counseling, where the counselor had to ask him to leave the session stating this was not the place for him. Anyone with half a brain could see he needs to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment, yet they keep telling us to take him home. Yesterday my mother in law took him again and this idiot told him to promise to eat three meals a day and take his medicine and if he didn't by Friday he would be admitted. He is delusional, weak, I found him just standing and staring. He thinks all the food in the refrigerator is bad and we have to throw it out. He thinks he has gang green in his leg, that he got in his eyes, all he does is follow me around asking me how can I eat that and tell me all his problems. At this point he is afraid to eat, doesn't that idiot doctor realize that? I am in shock at the money this man has put out for his blood tests not to mention all the medication and you people can't-do anything to help him. This is a disgrace. Your whole hospital should be closed down for you inept medical staff. After his surgery, he was under the impression that now and for the rest of his life he can't pick anything up over 10 pounds. The fact that
My father in law has allergies, where he takes all those ridiculous STEROIDs. Before he had the heart surgery he had prostate cancer, then he developed candida so that is what they diagnosed. He lost 35 pounds with the candida, so of course, he thought he had candida again. From the beginning, this man needed a nutritionist. Someone needed to look at all these medications and helped him, instead of the food that would help repair his body the doctor says he can't have green leafy vegetables. No you know what he should have done, take him off of the [censor]in pills so he could eat green leafy vegetables. Give him natural diuretic. you people don't know what you are doing so your just going to let him die. This is sick. The more people find out that the medical industry is just that an industry and not a place to be helped you people will be out of business. What a scam. To think if he never had the surgery I would not have had to live thru 10 months of watching him die.

Kaiser Permanente Nurse behavior

This is just a general complaint of how nurses are representing themselves in the public eye that work for Kaiser. The Kaiser brand is associated with a particular nurse and I think it is unprofessional to publicly conduct or display yourself in a certain way. It reflects poorly on the company and makes me not want to deal with the company as a consumer and possible employee. It appears you will hire anyone. Just like any other professional organization, if you are presenting you work for a certain company you should conduct your self in an appropriate manner if you chose to display your company association and self in a public setting.
Please see links below for a few examples of what one of your employees display (in addition to taking photos of themselves on company time):

Kaiser Permanente Kiser in maryland-curses at you by email. Apparently 3 providers!

Here is an email from Dr Gibert, Kennington Office in Maryland.

background: First off, I don't curse at physicians EVER. I moved here from Colorado in April. As a New Member I have been submitting records trying get continuity of care from Federal BCBS. The pain management transition has been quite poor.

Dr. Gilbert had been very problematic to schedule with. she canceled once 10 min prior with no call. Second effort to see her she booked someone else at my time and never told me. It was confusing and frustrating. I am a 59 year old retired National Park Ranger who speaks politely to physician even when they are unprofessional. I never suggested to Dr Chen or Dr Morris that I would do what she said. I actually told each I would try to see her again. She is apparently the only one in this wide area who can arrange treatment in the chronic pain management program here. Wow, this is your best?

Here is her email to me:

ANGELA S GILBERT PhD, PhD
08/22/2017 02:30 PM

Subject: f/u from Dr. Gilbert

Message body:
Hi, Mrs. Cates, Dr. Chen, one of the pain physician's noted that you may want to f/u with me on the phone for consultation re: chronic pain management. I also noted that Dr. Morris also suggested that.

Would you like to reschedule a time to meet on the phone? Just wanted to double check that you were requesting this, or wanting to f/u on recommendations to f/u w/ me. What do you think?

I may not have any openings left for this week, but if you want to speak next week, let me know your preferences for any specific day or time of day, or call 301.929.7383 and ask for Pain Medicine to reschedule.

Angela Gilbert, Psy.D.

Kaiser Permanente appointments

I have schedule appointments to see a Psychiatrist and Counselor due serious things that need to be addressed ASAP. I have been canceled 4 times by the office in San Bernardino. This is getting absolutely ridiculous and now I am pissed. What kind of facility can cancel over and over with no regards to a persons mental health. This can really set an unstable person over the edge. Its been months and I still have yet to receive treatment I am begging for. Does something drastic need to happen before this corporation takes their patients seriously.

Kaiser Permanente Billing

They keep sending me the bill that I paid long time ago by credit card, and neither multiple phone calls, nor sending mail helped to resolve the issue. Now they are threatening me with the collection agency. That's insanity. One phone call should have been enough to resolve an issue like that. And that's not the only issue, it's just the one I am still fighting with at the moment, although I am no longer their client, and I will never ever chose them as my insurance provider again, and I will warn as many people as possible on all the review sites that I can find, to stay away from them.
