I too am one of the unlucky ones that have experienced unauthorized transactions to my credit card with a monthly subscription as well.

Please you must be mindful when you are online trying to locate your own ISP provider, they have found a very tricky clever and very similar way of communicating as my ISP and advising you will be charged a refundable $2 back into your account for the afterhours chat for assistance. This in my eyes is not only a scam but also Fraud their team was extremely RUDE and unethical which made me immediately log into my paypal to find the charge

I received approx 8 emails after this along with Mr Jeff Cavellini's emai and law and behold as soon as I told them I will be reporting them and recorded their conversation received cancellations and a refund from PayPal THANK YOU PAYPAL

I will be sending you an email Mr C! also your call center and the picutres you post online is misleading..

The company have taken 189GBPs in unauthorised subscription payments over 7 months that I did not sign up or agree to, and only expected to pay for the initial question.

I am an older person and not as computer competent as I would like, due to ill health did not discover this was happening, when I did I spoke to a very unhelpful advisor at customer services who just kept replying it was in small print, she did however say the complaint would be escalated, I have not heard any more from justanswer.

I therefore request the sum of 189GBPs be returned to my account immediately.

I am reporting this incident from August 2021. I am not sure of the exact date and time. JustAnswer would have that information. I needed a help from a vet very late at night. I found this site and was in a panic and trying to get help asap. I filled in the information, knowing that I would be charged for the help, however, I did not read the fine print. A veterinarian called me and helped me through the problem with my dog and she is fine. I wish that instead of the deceitful practice of small print, they would let me know when I am talking to them how the billing works especially when you are distressed and want to get help. I did contact the company and they told me that I agreed to the monthly fees when I filled out the information to get my dog help. I did not take the time to read the small print and I feel this is just another on line scam for people to take advantage of people who need emergency care for themselves or others including pets. They took another $270.00 from me which I would like to get back.

I am writing to you about a serious and growing problem with eCommerce Websites. There are far too many legitimate companies using unethical practices, perhaps some illegal, to trick consumers and charge them for memberships or subscriptions they do not want. They are very clever but to this long-time internet professional, they are easy to detect. For example. JustAnswer.com.

1. I was redirected to Just Answer while trying to get an answer from The Smithsonian Magazine, redirecting is tantamount to bait and switch tactics. Just Answer methods to drive people to a Just Answer site are unethical if not illegal.

2. While waiting several minutes for a Just Answer "Expert" thinking they would direct me to The Smithsonian, I googled and got my answer without Just Answer 'Expert" help. At the moment I was under the assumption The Smithsonian had contracted with Just Answer to handle questions like mine.

3. Just Answer charged me $1 while promising an immediate refund. I am still waiting for the refund. I had to jump through hoops and traps set by Just Answer to finally find [protected]@JustAnswer.com, their customer service email. Navigating the website is like walking thru a mine of click bait.

4. Just Answer charged me another $46 without waiting 7 days as described on the Just Answer website. Disgusting thievery, unethical, and should be illegal if it is not.

5. When one cancels their membership within the 7 days waiting period, they are still charged for a full month at $46.00. They must go to unreasonable extra effort to request a refund. I can easily demonstrate how Just Answer does this. It is easy for an unsuspecting consumer to think canceling their membership would stop any billing. It does not.

6. In essence, Just Answer is using my funds to enrich themselves.

I paid one dollar to get into Just Answer and then $60 to process my one request. The next thing I know is I am being charged $60 per month for a "membership" . Not sure how this happened but website is very tricky and I feel like I was scammed. Just Answer said their terms and conditions are very clear. BS! Someone needs to assist consumers who get tricked like I did.

I was on the Social Security Administration website checking on my Part B enrollment. I was having trouble accessing the system and received a notification from Just Answer that they could provide assistance. Their service noted an initial $1 charge that would be immediately refunded.

Unfortunately, what wasn't clearly stated in the information was that when you submitted a question, you would automatically be enrolled in a $50 per month membership program. I noticed this charge to my credit card the day following my inquiry to Just Answer on 1/26/22. I contacted them immediately to cancel the membership and was told the automatic charge could not be refunded and I would be charged $50 for one month's service, which was in fact one question and less than 5 minutes of their time.

In checking my email account, I noticed an email that they had received my question, with no notation of a fee. (see attached email) A few minutes later there was a second email that they were reviewing my question and would send me an answer. (see attached email) This email included notification of a $50 monthly fee. However, this information was not provided when initially submitting the question, only after you submitted your question and the fee was already charged to my credit card account. Had they clearly shared their would be a $50 monthly membership fee, I would have never submitted my question to them.

This is false advertising and should be immediately removed or clearly noted that there is no waived $1 fee and in fact you will be charged $50 per month. Their advertising is misleading, not factual and specifically attempts to take advantage of senior citizens.

I therefore request a full refund of the $50 charged to my credit card.

on January 19, 2022, I asked JustAnswer a question. Prior to giving my answer they requested $1. I paid with my cc. five days later the $1 fee came up on my cc bill, along with another $60 fee for membership. I never knew that I signed up for membership. When I contacted the company on January 26, 2022, they stated that it was a nonrefundable charge and just because I did not see that I was signing up for a membership was not their problem. Nowhere did I ever read that I would be charged more than $1. I would never have agreed to that price for the one question I wanted an answer to.

They took all my money I had.
I am disabled
If I could afford a subscription I certainly would take them to a Veterinarian instead

On Tue Jan 15th 2022 I was charged a recurring charge of $46 at the time I was looking for an English-German dictionary I didn't visit the site and didn't sign up to be a member. This appears to be a fraudulent charge from someone.
The charge states it is for Services - Computer Network/info Srvs. This service wasn't rendered.

I was trying to get some answers about a warrantee from Garmin, as I purchased a Forerunner 45 watch which isn't working now. Somehow I was connected to Just Answer and they immediately asked for $1 to answer any questions (they said it was refundable). I paid on a credit card. The first person let me know that she couldn't answer anything and would have to connect me with an expert. After I was connected to the expert, I was informed that it would cost me $26 to get information. At that, I asked for a refund and typed in STOP to end everything.

I want a full refund- should be $1.00 and I never want to have to deal with Just Answer again.

If I don't hear back within two business days, I will refer this to the Attorney General's office for the state of Washington.

This site is a scam. Do not use it. I paid $25 for a 7 day trial period for math help. That included the math help for 2 questions. I asked 2 questions during the trial period and did not use the site again. At the end of the 7 days, i was charged ONE HUNDRED and TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS! I have contacted them multiple times and each time I get a generic response that they are upfront about their $1 trial fee and monthly fees thereafter. I replied that they again were stating untruths. I wish I had only paid $1. Why are their fees all over the place in every complaint that I read if this is a reputable company? I paid $150 for help on two math problems.

Asked a question to verify my understanding of an automotive issue, assuming it would cost me the $2 as indicated in their pop-up window. Once they got my credit card info, I was charged another $49 for a membership. Nowhere did I see that coming! When I complained to "customer service", I was told it would have been stated on screen I entered my credit info. If it was, it would have been off in a corner in very fine print! They suck you in with a low price $2, and then hit you for another $49! (Then If you don't cancel they clobber you with another $49 membership fee every month.) Forget any chance of getting a refund. Just avoid them like the plague!
Regarding the answer I got: First guy said "check all your fuses"... didn't even narrow it down. Second guy confirmed my understanding and my intention before asking my question, which was, "tow it to a dealer". Wow, brilliant advice.

On or about 11/15/21 I was referred to JustAnswer by Ebay for information on a vendor return policy. I provided my credit card information and agreed to pay $1 for the information. I did NOT agree to anything else. I most certainly did not agree to a monthly subscription. Why would I want a monthly subscription to answer a simple question about a return policy. I have recently learned that I have been charged $60 per month for the last 3 months by JustAnswer. This is clearly Fraud and a result of deceptive practice.

I clicked on a link to have a question answered. It was a trial offer. I cancelled it 10 minutes later as the service was not what I required. I followed the procedure as set down in the website.

In checking my transactions for my tax return I have discovered 7 unauthorised transactions (file enclosed) . These transactions are fraudulent. The money needs to be returned and the website process for cancellation needs to be fool proof. In researching this company these complaints have been sent since 2010. This is a huge industry. Consumer protection is required here.

I only wondered about my Fathers prayer book with a silver cover. I was mortified when I saw my bank account.

I was told that I would get offered a service, which implied something exchanged. All I got was shock that a, highly rated website would abuse my money and time. They asked for 5 bucks and I unsubscribed, then charged a single disabled mother of 46 dolllars. It's immoral, and I want justice, and I will continue until compensation is returned. That way others looking for advice aren't mislead! They lied and stole!

I am a disabled single mother, and I counted on this company to not take advantage of me 7 months ago. I didn't expect to be given bad advice, then ask a refund to be charged 46. This business told me 7 months ago they would refund it. Yet I have yet to receive it. I will continue to post so others don't get STOLEN from. It is a Terrible site, with no moral compass. I fight for the people in the future, and wont stand for this!

My credit card was charged $28 for each month of Oct., Nov., Dec and Jan. I never wanted the "service" in the first place and only now noticed it. I called and got the subscription cancelled but did not get the needed reimbursement of $112. I did not get a reason why justanswer did not give back the money that was fraudulently charged to my credit card. Please get this resolved quickly.
