Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores AC broken at Store in Kennesaw, GA

It is August 9th, 2021.
The Store address is 501 Roberts Ct, Kennesaw, GA 30144

Repair the damn air conditioning at the Jo-Ann Fabrics in Kennesaw, Ga. It's 90 freaking degrees in the store. I 90 year old grandmother nearly passed out because of how hot it was inside. The cashier was beet red and looked ill due to the heat. Definitely Heat Stroke.

This is Georgia, it is irresponsible not to fix the ac in the middle of summer. It's hot and it's been broken for months. The company is going to end up sued if they don't repair it soon.

Desired outcome: Fix the AC in the store

I totally agree. I work at a Joann in North Carolina. Well, used to work there, I am in the process of putting my two weeks in. it was well over 90 degrees outside in October, and it was 80 degrees in the store. We were pouring water over our heads, and taking those heavy aprons off, while a manager kept screaming we needed to put them back on as well as the masks. I have complained to OSHA several times but nothing is done. All that i was told is that "it's corporate controlled", meaning Ohio has the authority. we even tried to override the thermostats but they were locked. in the winter we freeze, and are not allowed to wear sweaters or coats, unless they are under those aprons.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Packaging and Bad Skein

My order # [protected] placed on 8/1/21 arrived in one big MESS. I order quite a bit of yarn from Joann Fabric and have never had this problem before. The box was obviously pieced together with very little tape. Bottom of the box was caved in, brown paper for stuffing was less than beneficial. I am including pictures of the box and the skein of yarn that I can't even use. Looks like someone tried to start it and couldn't - having same problem I do.
Please advise.

Thank you!

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores on line order - material

I ordered 8 yards of material (was not available in store, only on line). I received two shipments - 7 yards and 1 yard. I need a running 8 yards - when I contacted Joanne, I was told they cannot guarantee a customer will get the full order in one piece, it is based on what is available at different stores. I asked if this was listed anywhere on their website or ordering process and was told no. This information should be available to customers before ordering.
order# #[protected]

Desired outcome: full 8 yard cut of fabric

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Price Match for Cricuit purchase

Hello,

I purchased a Cricut on 5/10/21. I found this same product online at Amazon for $329 in stock. I sent all of this information to customer service and they said they do not price match Amazon. But, on your website it clearly states that you price match certain online vendors and Amazon is listed as your first. I would like and explanation as to why I am not able to get a price match. I was told in 2 separate emails that it is because you cannot walk into a Amazon store to shop but if that is the case it should not be on the website that you price match online vendors and then list them.

Desired outcome: price match refund and explanation of why this is on your website if you do not honor online vendors

Most Joann's only price match Amazon when it's not on sale... Like if the sale price was $329 on Amazon most would allow it to be matched. But since it's on sale it cannot. The screenshot you provided actually says one of the reasons they cannot take it. It's an online exclusive price and online exclusive prices cannot be matched. If you wanted it at the special amazon prince you should have purchased it off amazon.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Constant mistakes

I took a large order of masks back because of poor quality and two were not packaged. The manager told me I couldn't have ordered them from her store, When I showed her the packing slip she said I must have removed the mask from the package. Very rude. From another purchase: It took 3 hours for me to check out after my material was cut. The clerk had to write the number of the material down because her handheld device wouldn't work. The cashier didn't know how to input the numbers properly. A different manager took the stack of material back and ran each piece again. When I got home one piece was missing but, because of distance and gas I didn't complain. When I finished the top to my quilt I unfolded the bottom material to quilt. Instead of 1 1/2 yd it was 38 inches wide. I had to take it back of course but, had to get a different piece that no longer matches the top and cost twice as much. Coupons are useless, especially for in store purchase. One of the materials I got for piecing had 1 yard of unusable because of poor cutting. I've never had so much trouble.

Desired outcome: Do better and stop abusing your customers.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Bait & Switch

I was issued two refunds for corporate refund checks on January 10, 2021 to be sent to me. I had been in communication with the Store manager and Asst. Store manager who actually assisted me with three previous returns (signing them) on my recently deceased mothers un-used new material as l etc. Each received a corporate check for dates of January 3, 2021 & December 20, 2020 & and a cash refund of $ 120.00 on December 18, 2020. All without receipts but luckily still in the original packaging, mfg boxes, and Joann bags. My January 10th refunds never arrived so I reached out to returns customer service for status. I was than told to pick up the fabric or take a store credit? A day later I received a email from customer service asking for detailed information on my return, email, original dates of purchase, which I quickly replied with and asked why they are asking for all this additional information...No one could tell me why? The store manager said the store policy was changed, inwhich I was bring penalized for their policy change after my transactions were done? Basically I was being called a thief and they were trying to imply that 3 bolts of unbleached muslin were stolen? Funny how when I returned it the sales associate was able to scan the bolts and the bolts were identified in the Joanne SKU files in their computer system?Absurd! I was given the choice to pick up the bolts of muslin or a useless store credit. I than took the store credit as they threatened that if I did not come in soon I would be forced to forfeit my merchandise/store credit! What a way to treat someone who's late mother taught all the quilting, cake decorating, needlework adult education classes in Bellevue, Ne. My late mother bought all her needs at this Joann store in Bellevue, ne. She also encouraged all her students to buy all their needs for class and leisure at this store. Pathetic way of biting the hand that keeps your sad little store open in Bellevue, Ne! Talk about Bait & Switch on an honest customer! No wonder this store is so empty. I have/will notify all local contacts of this horrible experience with trying to defame my character without any grounds, basis, or reasonable explanation. Even the supervisor at the returns customer service did not have the courage to call me and explain why the 30 day runaround? Cowards and shady business practice!

Desired outcome: A call from the CEO with a legit explanation of their attempt to defame me!

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Your customer service @ [protected]

After holding for 17 minutes, spoke with carlos to clarify if an item I am interested in buying is excluded from your 50% off coupon. The coupon says we can call # to get further info on exclusions, he said I had to call the store, I asked for call to be escalated, he placed me on hold and after 5 or so minutes of waiting the call hung up. At the beginning of the call he asked for my call back number in case we got disconnected, now why we he say that and not call me back? Now I am on hold for a second time, I have been on hold now for 20 minutes. This is ridiculous. I just got my call answered by a gia. So apparently you guys outsource your customer service and who knows what else mexico! As per gia, I was reaching her outside the usa. I asked to speak to a supervisor and once again, after holding for about 5 minutes, my call got disconnected again. Unbelievable! You guys are a joke! With so many people without work in the usa, you outsource your customer service outside the usa. So unpatriotic. I will be blasting all social media about how you support mexico and not the usa. I have no interest dealing with a company that deals with foreign countries. Shame on you! You have lost one of many customers to come. This is so evident by the condition of your stores, the level of customer service they provide and your hiring of foreigners when you have millions in the us you could hire.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Refusal to unsubscribe me from their email list.

Multiple times I have requested to unsubscribe from JoAnn Fabrics emails. JoAnn still sends me multiples everyday of the week. You are effectively taking away my right to choose whether I want your communications or not, thus violating the laws put in place to protect consumers. If JoAnn does not cease and desist with spamming my email box, I will file an official complaint with my State Attorneys General to stop you from continuing to violate my rights. I have also repeatedly attempted to block your email address to no avail — no doubt, JoAnn has some way of circumventing the block. You spam me everyday. This whole experience has been so offensive, I will never shop there again. My experience has caused me to conclude that JoAnn Fabrics is a corporate bully who victimizes their customers. I will warn others about your underhanded practices. I will stay the course until I get rid of your daily spam in my mailbox. Greed drives this offensive action conducted by JoAnn fabrics. You will never get my money again. Unsubscribe me, just as I have repeatedly requested at least 15 times and still counting.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores v17.5" vinyl baby doll

There is an advertisement on your website as of 9/8/20 for a Baby Doll identified as "Hispanic." How can you tell what language the dolls speaks? Caucasian is a race; Hispanic is not. It is a culture or ethnicity. To identify a doll as Hispanic suggests, "If you are Hispanic, you must look like this." How do you know what language the Asian or Caucasian dolls speak, or their background?

Please do not equate ethnicity or language as a "race." You might be able to make an assumption about someone's race from a picture, but to identify their ethnic group from that same picture suggests cultural illiteracy, bias, and lack of sensitivity.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores order cancelled, emails go unanswered

January 7, 2020
1. My first Jo-Ann+ order was cancelled with no explanation.
2. I emailed customer service.

3. Three days later, I ask for the phone number from my local store. The phone number was incorrect and is no longer 1-888-739-4120! It's some random "auto savings" scam line now.
4. I sent a second email to customer service, detailing my frustrations about my cancelled order and their lack of response to my first email. (Which at this point, has also gone unanswered).

January 10, 2020
I placed a second order from Jo-Ann+ for a different fabric. There was a "pending" transaction hold on my bank account all weekend.

January 13, 2020
I call my bank because my pending transaction has disappeared and there's no way for me to call Jo-Ann directly (or so I thought at the time).
My bank agent tells me that the transaction did not go through at all, so it appears my order has been cancelled yet again.

I email Jo-Ann+ specifically this time, asking them to cancel my supposedly "processing" order. I am completely fed up with this company, and will no longer (attempt to) order from their website.

Jan 15, 2020 11:24 am EST

Here is what I have learned:

1. Joann.com representatives and plus.joann.com (bulk ordering) representatives do not communicate with one another.

2. The only way to contact JoAnn+ is via email.

3. If you send a JoAnn+ email to the regular customer service, they simply won't reply at all.

4. My second order ended up going through after all (unknown as to how) and my fabric is supposed to arrive today 1/15.

I'm still never online shopping with JoAnn again.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores online ordering, rewards, management

Joanns has many deceptive practices in place to steal money from their customers. The online ordering system violates the FTC rule of allowing orders modified post placement by the seller to notify and give the customer the opportunity to cancel. Joanns does not leading to wasted money, sometimes up to the hundreds, on fabric now too short for the pattern the customer was using. They say to return in store only which is a disadvantage to the elderly and disabled who cannot drive. They charge to restock their misdistributed item. Highly unethical and illegal to charge for what the customer did not order and to go against consumer law.
Secondly the rewards program has ambiguous rules. They say in the faq it can be used combined with coupons but innstore the clerks deny. I was cheated out of ten dollars this way. Secondly they show a reward valid until the 18th. The store said it was for a mission not yet over but that mission is nit awarded until the 22nd. Obviously the reward would not be valid then! Cheated out of another $10. They do not properly train and have the rudest dumbest managers anywhere. They contradict the law and the ftc by treating a cash value reward as a coupon instead of same as cash by the consumer protection act. For these reasons Joanns should br subjected to a clas action lawsuit. In not provided merch and failed rewards they owe me a total of $35, but a lawsuit will cost them much more and I know Im not the only one victimized. The ceo needs to wake up and get some ethics.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores customer service

I just walked out of this store feeling completely ignored. I walked many times near the sewing machines and a group of six woman were sitting around talking. Not one of them asked me if I needed assistance. They were all laughing and telling personal stories so I know it was not a work meeting. I wanted to purchase a sewing machine. I felt intimidated interrupting their group for help.
I felt like I was back in junior high. So very unprofessional of them. Just feel awful.

Ok, there's a lot to bring up here, but first of all are you sure the women were employees of Joann's? The store always severely understaffs the store, to the point where it's common for there to only be three staff working at a time, one of which is always tied up by the registers.

Secondly, if there was a sewing machine department the Viking sewing galleries aren't actually with JoAnn. They're a store within a store and run with their own system/workers. My suspicion is that you saw a group of customers talking, or perhaps a class which sometimes the Viking gallery holds to orient customers to new machines.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores ads reporting 25% additional discount when they don’t discount the items

I was notified via email that joann's has a great sale going on cricut die-cutting machines. Underneath the item they have a big green rectangle that exclaims "plus an additional 25% off" coupon. The coupon doesn't work for cricut machines at all. Why put the banner under the item? It's deceptive advertising. The attached photos tell the whole story.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores framing associate complaint

My wife and I wish to lodge a complaint. We ordered a custom frame and matting from your store in Green Bay, Wisconsin. When the frame came in (today 4/16) we went to the store to have matting done of a photo and signature. I cannot begin to tell you how horrible we were treated by the woman working at the framing desk. I showed her the elements we wanted in the frame and she absolutely did not want to listen to what we were explaining. She kept telling me to do it myself and that she didn't know what we wanted, and finally she told us it would be too hard for her but that she'd try. . The matting job was very simple but she engaged us with such condescension it was unbelievable. Since my wife made the initial order of the frame, she told me I should have came with my wife at that time. I explained that it wasn't possible at that time.
The elements I brought in were a photo from a tv show and an authentic autograph of the show's star. It was the most important part of the picture, as it was expensive for me to obtain.
She kept telling us that she would need to cut the paper with the signature on it to get it to go in the frame, which was ridiculous. I explained two her three times that it would be easy to mat it a particular way. The woman asked me several times in a very angry way "do you want to do it yourself?"... My wife and I were in disbelief at her callous disrespect in every way... I specifically told her NOT to cut up the card with the signature and to leave it inside its plastic sleeve and mat it that way.. She grabbed the elements and the frame and went to the back room, when she came back (about 20 mins later) the elements were matted but the plastic sleeve was sitting empty on top of the frame... That signature card has a numbered sticker on the back because it has been authenticated and that is the proof of it being real. I believe she did cut the card before matting it but she sealed the back of the frame up in such a way that I'd have to ruin it to take it apart and look...
I cannot stress how totally disrespectful, and standoffish she was to me and my wife, and would like to bring the frame to you and have it opened to determine if indeed she did destroy the card by cutting it.
Also, she did not give us a chance to ask her questions or examine the frame and matting before she rudely had me sign my name on the pick up form.
I would really appreciate some help and courtesy with regards to this, the signature would be ruined as far as its worth and authenticity had she cut it up.
Thank you for your time and help
David Brudie

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores false accusations

visited my local Job Ann's store in Folsom, CA where I tend to frequent often to kill time between classes. I stopped at the Target next door first and purchased a new blazer, dress shirt, watch and a small container of modge podge for a collage I am making. I then continue next door to the Job Ann's store. After about an hour or more of browsing and even talking to a couple employees there I decide to leave without making a purchase where I am met by a staff member who thinks he's just the badest thing on Earth. He asks me to show him my bag as he assumes I stole something. I tell him I am aware of the law that technically I don't have to show him anything but I have nothing to hide so I open my backpack for him. He sees my purchases and proceeds to tell me that he "watched me pick up" the modge podge that I purchased from Target. When I explained to him I had looked at many things in that store but I purchased this before even entering this store he tries to tell me to give him the paste! I am blown away that someone without confidence and proof of theft would go to that extent to try to prove what was just a judgement and false accusation. Of course I laughed at him and told him not in a million years and proceeded to walk away from the store. That employee needs retraining or a suspension to realize the impact that offending and losing one customer will do to your stores sales. Needless to say I will never go to that location again and I will do my best to make sure his supervisor is aware of this rude and impulsive behavior.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores customer service

My son got me a cricut press for Christmas. I was very touched as he is not the type to know anything about the cricut products. I need the cutter before I can use the press so I took it back to the Reynoldsburg, Ohio Joann store. I went to the front desk and the woman asked me what I wanted. I said to return the item, she told me to go do my shopping and then I had to stand in line like the others. I thought you took returns to the front desk. I went to look for the machine I wanted to buy and there were only signs none of the products, I walked thru the whole store trying to find someone to help me to be told that I had to get the machine up front where I started. I stood in line just to be told that they would not take a return if I did not have the receipt because they did not know if it was bought at one of their stores, ummmm there are barcodes that would tell you that. The particular machine I wanted to exchange was on sale for less than my son bought it for and the machine I was going to buy was an extra 125 dollars more, so Joann would have made money not lose anything, not to mention I was going to buy supplies as well. For the last 30+ years I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to the Joann Fabric chain. I will not be going there anymore, I am not a criminal so you can leave your machines where I can get to them, and I would never try to get before people who were in line. I was so appalled at the service. There are not allot of stores that sell cricut, but I certainly will not be buying from the Joann Chain.
