Jim Watley Roofing review: Unreliable, negligent and untrustworthy roofer 1

Jim Watley Roofing [protected]) of Calera/West Blocton installed new shingle and ridge vent on my roof. The work itself was led by his business partner Paul Sanders [protected]). After completion, they charged an additional $150 (without prior authorization) for supposedly replacing rotten wood around chimney. After work had been completed (and paid to Paul Sanders), I discovered that the rotten wood had not been replaced at all. They had also not put down new felt, nor new valley metal, even though this was also specifically stated in the contract. Now I have new shingle covering a roof with crumbling or missing felt and several areas of rotten wood. In addition, the workers caused significant damage to the deck and gutters, only to offer to replace the gutters for $1100 (about twice what it is worth). Jim Watley was contacted numerous times, and offered the opportunity to fix the problems, but did not show up to any of his appointments. Clearly a hit-and-run operation.
