Jewel-Osco meat department and management.

The Jewel Osco @ 20 W. Biesterfield Rd in Elk Grove, Il has a terrible problem. You cannot get help at the meat counter. Time after time I go there and you can see the butchers looking at you through the glass, while refusing to come out and help you. Sometimes I can force them out with a phone call, the phone is by the counter so they need to come out to answer it. Today that did nothing. Another staff member told me the one butcher was outside smoking.

The problem isn't what happened today, the problem is that it happens day after day!

The biggest problem? Management is aware and doesn't care enough to fix the issue. The staff in the meat department appears to be anti-customer, and the management seems to be detached from their purpose, which is customer service.

The deli and pharmacy staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Love them.

Jewel-Osco deli department

Eveytime I go and wait in line to order anything, no one seems to care to help. I will be the only one there and there are 7 employees working just looking at me and not asking if I need anything. Worst customer service ever. I don't know who is the manager there but they gotta do something about this. I don't like going there because I get treated differently than other people and that bothers me so much.

Jewel-Osco farm stand

A fruit cup that was purchased for 3.79 on 4/20/19 at the south Chicago height jewel store number 3167 was terrible the mango was rock hard and nit even close to ripe as well as the strawberries were close to rotten . Terrible produce ! So disappointed I threw it away . This is not the first time I ha e experienced this problem the produce is terrible ! You guys really need to consider doing som quality control at this store I find mold on a lot of produce in the store and this needs to be addressed.

Jewel-Osco catering

I ordered items for a baby shower today. I get there and they didn't have the cake, they said it was cancelled. It was not cancelled because I have a copy of the order and I have everything but the cake. I called after I ordered and went over every item. Further more the ladies in the bakery are rude. This is the 4th time I have tried ordering from the Deli. There is always a problem, also the tray with the salads were wrong. I am done giving them a chance, you need to get staff with better attitudes in the Deli and Bakery. I am attaching a copy of the order with the cake on it.

Jewel-Osco front door

The sliding door at the north entrance has been broken for over a year. It only opens about halfway causing people to run into it constantly. As creatures of habit we know how far sliding doors are supposed to open. When someone tries to enter and exit au the same time they make way by entering opposite sides. However, the doors stop halfway while opening. As a member of the community I frequent this location. Sometimes more than once a day. This is a clear disregard for customer services.

Jewel-Osco employees

How can employee get terminated for having 5 no calls no shows when management had no idea why couldn't call in. Was not given a verbal warning, a written warning or a suspension. They just terminate. But yet they do nothing when employees come in everyday 15 to 20 minutes late. Plus do nothing when an employee goes on break for hour to an hour and a half and nothing is done. The employees including the department manager knows she does it but nothing is done. Maybe because her uncle is best friends with the store may. If that aint favoritism I don't know what is.

I recently was terminated from Jewel because did 5 no calls no show in a row. The store manager didn't even give me a chance to explain why instead just terminated me. No verbal warning, no written warning and no suspension. But yet employees can come in 15 to 20 minutes late everyday and nothing is said to them. Plus employee takes hour an half break without punching out and department manager knows about it but doesn't say or do anything about it. Maybe because the employee uncle is best friends with the store manager. Talk about favoritism

Jewel-Osco manager, orlando

Asked Manager for assistance to find pizza dough. I showed him picture of item & very rude ignorant & unprofessional. I was shocked at attitude & even more taken back when I looked at nametag & seen he was a manager. Name on badge is Orlando. He said he's going to block instacart at register . Who says that? Especially a manager & what is Instacart? I've been shopping at Jewel all my life & im 53 years old. After tonight, I may have to switch my grocery chain. What has happened to customer service in your store?

Jewel-Osco service manager

The service manager at the Palos Heights Jewel was very rude when we asked for a roll of quarters. This is not the first time she was rude to us. This needs to be addressed. I really like this store but will look for a different one. She is completely rude and mean. I always thought the customers were always right . But today it obviously wasn't the case

Jewel-Osco expired food

I live right next to a Jewel-Osco, but have experience the same at many surrounding stores. The amount of money I have wasted on expired food like yogurt, kombucha, almond milk, rotten fruit (especially berries, but also have has rotten plums, Asian pears, and apples) is immeasurable. I understand that it is a big store with lots of products, but I have not had this same experience shopping at other grocery stores.

I have no issues with the staff I encounter, but selling expired food over and over and over, and in completely different departments, is just ridiculous. I will not be shopping here any more unless it's an emergency and I am forced to. Even then, every single item I purchase will be thoroughly checked prior to purchase. And anything expired I grab off the shelf is going right to Customer Service.

Jewel-Osco expired items

They sell expired items all the time we were shopping there and we had 2 cart fulls of expired things they need to check the expired items we just bought expired creap mix it expired in feburary 9th 2019 and it is still on the shelves. Please hire more people for that store before someone gets seriously sick from the food they need to do a better job of checking the expired items beacuse they dont do that. They also dont nees to put items on sale thats expired

Jewel-Osco bathrooms

I visit this location two times a week
For the past year I have used the bathroom a number of times the condition of the bathroom is disgusting and a health risk.
It used to be checked every few hours it looks like now it gets checked every few days.
It's a great store with terrible bathrooms. I would love to continue to shop there but I will switch to a nother local grocery store if something is not done about the bathrooms.

Jewel-Osco service at this locations starbucks

You have employed a disgraceful women that treats people as an inconvenience. She has been seen multiple times throwing things at customers and saying horrific things and management will not do anything about it even after multiple complaints. Her name is Andi Greenholt! Something needs to be done ASAP before something else happens! She is ruining you're reputation and multiple people have boycotted this location. Other employees have left due to her. Currently there is a viral video going around perhaps you should look into. Thank you and I hope your judgment is on the right side of this.

Jewel-Osco Manager on duty was unprofessional and bathroom were a mess

On February 20, 2019 at approximately 235pm I was there shopping and my 7yr old niece had to use the bathroom so I always escort children with me to the bathroom thank God I did it was a total nasty disgusting mess! I had to 1st clean it up so she can use the toilet. The toilet seat had urine and other things on it. I'm so happy my taught me to always keep lysol or Clorox wipes in my purse because I truly needed the whole pack for the womens bathroom. I immediately reported it to an associate she then called on the phone to get some immediate service, I then requested to speak to a manager in which I was not aware African american women with the twist in her hair was the person standing there all along. She denied that she was a supervisor or manager on duty she was not willing to hear me out she walked away from me and went back to customer service desk so I approached her over there I then explained to her what I just had to do and ask her can I have a discount Considering that I just cleaned up the bathroom. She rudely said no and I have work to do some one will get to it later. I then walked away and started to tell her I took pictures to send to corporate but I thought if they see what us customers have to deal with in their establishment they would be upset like I was so here goes. It would have been nice to get a reward for cleaning the filthy bathroom up. I can be reached at [protected]. I wish I was secretly shopping that day. I am a loyal customer of jewel.

Jewel-Osco customer service desk/ lady

This is probably stupid but I went in to my local Jewel to swap out my Ipass and the lady asked if she could help me and I told her what I wanted to do, as the phone rang she picked up and was obviously on a personal call complaing how they scheduled her 7 to 3. As she get my new transponder while on the phone she just hands it to me with no furthur explanation. I would think she would have to scan the paper like it says to activate my transponder, maybe that will be done later and maybe not? I left frustrated and immediatly went home to call ipass to see if it needs to be activated and they said yes that she should have. I hope this is done This store has some of the crabiest and unfriendly employees. They really should pay attention to a customer when they are in front of their face, maybe after dealing with a customer they can go back in that box they are in and talk on the phone. I am frustated and it takes a lot for me to complain but this struck me as rude and unproffesional.

Jewel-Osco bakery

I have ordered a plain rye uncut at least 5 times from this location and not once have they ever provided one even though I was promised it would be ready each time. I'm not sure what I can do to make it more clear to them what I want. Every time they have sliced it and several times they have even put it out and sold it instead of holding it for me. It's always someone else's fault, no one there is ever to blame. When I lived in the suburbs I requested this many times at several different locations and they managed to get it right. I don't know what the issue is with this location but I have never had a good experience with anything I have ever ordered from the bakery.

Jewel-Osco sarcastic/condescending service

I was at this particular establishment and I bought a Jim Bean brand drink on sale for $14.99 +tax. It tasted off from one sip and I decided to return the item which was within an hour time frame. So Judy originally sold it to me and she so happened to be the Service Rep who handled my return. She was very condescending and dismissive in regards to the return; she scoffed when I said I wanted to return the item which I felt was unnecessary and definitely opposite of good customer service. I've had an interaction with Judy before at this location when I asked for some assistance and she didn't provide me any help nor assisted me in at least finding someone who could help me. After this incident I felt the need to address the lack of good customer service from this rep.

Jewel-Osco prescription discount card

I have been going to this location for a very long time to fill my prescriptions and my mothers. She has medicare but some of her prescriptions are cheaper with a Prescription Discount Card so when that is the case we dont use medicare but rather use the discount card to save money. This last time I went in to pick up all the meds the card no longer was in the system nor would it activate when trying to enter it in again. I was told they can only use only Discount card in particular, which they were told by their regional manager. Something isn't right, as I know full well how these cards work and if I bring in a card your pharmacy is obligated to use it and give me the lowest price available. Is there a reason only one card is being honored in the Chicagoland area? Because I called around to other locations and was told the same thing! I was told this regional manager has two large territories and he told them they can only use Paramount Discount card even though I am submitting a different card with better discounts across the board. And why isn't the card even able to be found in the system? No longer can accept goodrx either? Com'n Osco this is just wrong and you will lose a ton of business with this shady practice as it appears to me that your regional has his hand in the pockets of this Paramount card and clearly must be getting some kind of kick back for the usage. This needs to be corrected ASAP! I know you have contracts with these other cards to use them in your store so what gives. Please check into BIN 019330 PCN RXNW2 GRP RXNOW ID NOW199 and get it back in the system so I can continue to get all my mothers medications from osco!

Jewel-Osco rude management/customer service

My name is James Jenks. I am an Attorney and grew up in the Chicago Suburb of Lyons and work nearby. I have been a lifelong customer of Jewel Osco located in Stickney, Illinois near my home and shop there a few days a week. I have never had any issues until yesterday. I am not a person who filed complaints, but I was so taken back by my experience that I cannot stop thinking back on it and feel urged to inform you now. It may seem trivial, but to me it is not. I went in yesterday and wished to return some purchases that my family incorrectly bought only the day before. As I did not have the receipt I did not ask for a cash refund. I only wanted store credit as they were the wrong products that I needed. I have never had a problem before returning or exchanging in my 36 years as a loyal Jewel Osco customer. The first gentleman that I talked to said no problem and rang up my returns. I handed him my driver's license because I remember the last time that that I returned something they requested it he said he did not need it. But my returns were totaled just over $50. It was only a few items. It consisted of razors which were the wrong brand and that I needed and around $30. The rest was a can of deodorant and batteries which were the wrong size that I needed. And again I only wanted to get the correct product with store credit, not return it for cash. The gentlemen then informed me he needed someone to clear the return as it was over $50. He called over a woman and she then said I could not return without a receipt. But I informed her I only wanted store credit. There is also a sign at the customer service desk stated the return for credit is allowed without a receipt. She then stated very rudely that it was her discretion to not allow a return or exchange. She would not give me a reason. For. It allowing my return and allowing the person who was in front of me to return there perchases without a receipt. Her entire demeanor was rude and condescending. She called the assistant manager Michale Lewis over who was even more condescending and rude in a passive aggressive manner. I asked why not and he said because it was over $50. I said I wouldn't return everhing than to keep it under $50. He than said he would not except the return at all due to store policy. I pointed out that is not the store policy as stated. Again it was their rude and condescending manner that bothered me and the fact each of them keep giving me inconsistant reasons to deny my returns and seemed to just deny me for no reason but because they wanted to. Especially After the first said no problem. I am very upset by this experience and would like it addressed.

Jewel-Osco pharmacist customer service

I dropped off a prescription (controlled substance to help treat a fairly severe chronic lung condition) at the pharmacy on 1/20/19 and was told my prescription had to be ordered and would be ready on 1/21/19. I received no call about this prescription, so went to the pharmacy to follow up on 1/27/19. I was told y the pharmacy tech that there was a problem with the insurance and I should call on 1/28/19 to speak with the pharmacist. When I called on 1/28/19, the pharmacist Octavia Dunn informed me she was waiting on the doctor to call back, that she needed more information as to why I am taking this medicine. I called my doctor and asked him to call the pharmacist back. I followed up with my doctor on 1/29/18 and he informed me that when he called back they informed him "there was a mistake we will take care of, no need to speak with the pharmacist." I called and spoke with the pharmacist again, Octavia Dunn, who told me " I am not filling your prescription." I asked her what the problem was and first she said the doctor never called back. When I told her he had, she said they were suppose to tell him she was not filling it. I asked her what the problem was and her response was "there are a lot of reasons, but I have decided I will not be filling your prescription. You can pick it up and take it elsewhere if you want." According to her, I should not be taking the medication I was prescribed, the same kind I have been taking for over 3 years now. I once again told her to call the doctor if there was a problem or if he should change it to a different kind and she responded "I don't need to speak with him because regardless of what he says, I will not fill it." Very bad customer service from her. When I asked for corporates number she responded with "I am sure you can figure it out yourself." I spoke with a manager there who was able to easily provide me with the phone number and apologized for her attitude. I left a message to the DM of pharmacy and am still waiting for a call back. I took my prescription to another Osco location where I was able to fill with no problems. The pharmacist there said she saw nothing wrong with the script, but called the doctor to verify everything just in case. The doctor answered and verified the prescription was correct and that I NEED this medication due to my medical condition. I am glad she was able to help, and am sorry I didn't get her name to compliment her. I will definitely look for it and write a compliment because after being treated very unfairly by Octavia, she made me feel a lot better. I must say, Octavia needs to learn not to judge people. I am certain she did this because I am young and don't "look" as sick as I am. I felt very discriminated by her, and will no longer take any prescriptions to this location until she is gone.

Jewel-Osco cashiers/customers service

I live near this Jewel, and I go there very often. Cashiers and customer service is not properly trained. Especially when it comes to WIC, there's only one Cashier who actually knows how to process WIC checks, it's and older Asian lady, sorry to be specific but I don't know her name, and second person to know WIC is Randy from Customer Service. All the rest of the cashiers are just clueless on what to do with WIC, and eleven some customer service supervisors and managers upfront. If jewel is listed as one of the stores that accepts WIC then why there's no cashiers in this store that know how to process them. As I will go to my Wic office I will bring it up to them. Also many things that are Jewel brand as they claim should be accepted are not accepted on WIC when you get to the register. They should have some marking or WIC item listed by the product, if it's a WIC item. It's totally disorganized and cashiers are clueless. I can record and add a Video for reference.
