Jewel-Osco Security staff aggressive behavior unprofessionalism!!!

On 9/7/22 at 12:50 p.m., I entered jewel disco Marketplace located at 1224 S. Wabash, Chicago, IL 60606. In entrance lobby area there were three to four people in store doorway making it difficult for customers to enter store. A loud discussion was happening one man and the other four people. Upon observation there were two hispanic males, one Black female and one white male. I later learned the four people were store manager and security staff. I noticed how unprofessional and aggressive security staff was and decided to observe incident. I entered store to begin shopping. I was approached by male hispanic whom I later learned was named angel. He flashed a toy-cop badge and I stated " are you harassing me cause I witnessed your behavior!" " Stop harassing me while shopping!". I felt racially profiled and wanted to see manager. At self checkout I saw manager and requested his assistance. I wanted to know the name of aggressive hispanic security guard. He replied " angel". I wanted his last name, but manager refused, replied "that's all I'm going to give. No last name". Security guard angel started walking towards me in an aggressive manner and I talking very loud. I asked manager twice to get him away from me. I'm 66 years old and shouldn't be harassed by unprofessional staff. Does jewel disco only racially profiled Black People. Angel should be FIRED immediately!

Desired outcome: Angel who works security at store #3345 should be FIRED immediately and I want an apology from store manager Todd Mich!!

Jewel-Osco Bag lady at jewels-osco

I’m a regular customer and it’s a racist profile with teenage/mid aged ladies. Not doing their job! Customer’s is always first don’t matter the color of there skin. We are equal and no discrimination on other race. As I approach the check out then She step away. The color of any other skin don’t make a difference it’s the way you treat people. Thy said love one another.I love this store my favorite place but you are hiring hatred in the store. Check out the bag ladies. Where’s the young men’s with carts or bagging? Please do better! It’s nice neighborhood and we don’t need to be messy!

Jewel-Osco costumer service

i called this morning at 9:30 and the lady at the service desk hung up on me 2 times after i asked her if i could talk to a manger about something that was regarding me ! i called back to ask her name and she called me out of my name and hung up , i did nothing wrong and was nothing but respectful and nice the whole conversation ! i think she was having a bad morning

Jewel-Osco Pricing

I shop at the Jewel in Homer Glen, Ill. You advertise mix and match items, but every time there is a problem. I bought the 5 items in the mix and match, as indicated on the tags, but when I checked out the prices were not adjusted. Management did adjust the prices after we walked thru the store with me indicating each tag, and the excuse was that not all the items in the buy 5 mix and match are in the same group, what does that mean. How many people that don't check their receipts are cheated. Your signage needs to be some how better or the prices are not properly inputted in your computer system.

Jewel-Osco J4U rewards

Jewel used to be our go-to store, at least once a week, dropped a lot of money there, not anymore. This past year we have been scammed through the J4U digital coupons and rewards program. We clip coupons and they don't come off at the register. We claim our rewards with points and 'poof' they disappear from our account when we try to redeem. Trips to customer service, phone calls with the 877 number, promises to get money refunded. 'It will come off the next time you go to the store' - a bunch of lies, tired of patronizing. It's been many years since we have put a bad review online. Very frustrated and will be telling everyone we can not to use them.

Desired outcome: An apology? A refund? We dare Jewel to care enough now to do something.

Jewel-Osco Cashback with purchase

I was at the Jewels store located at 6014 S. Cottage Grove on 7/29/22 at 8:36 am. Upon reaching the cashier to make my purchase I was asked if I was going to be getting cashback from the Cashier. I responded yes. She informed me a minimum amount purchase was required to receive cashback. I asked when the policy change was implemented and the cashier replied about a month ago. I looked to see if any sign postings where at the cashier or customer service desk and it is not. She then referred me to the manager.

Desired outcome: If the policy is indeed true. A sign should be posted to inform customers of the change and it should be across the board and not only at select locations.

Jewel-Osco Refund for spoiled item

I bought organic Fuji apple on 6/26.

After reaching home, I found it spoiled, so went back to store on 06/27 to return and get refund.

Store accepted it and ask me use same method for refund. So put my Apple phone on pos, as I used Apple Pay.

Store person Sonia told you will receive refund soon.

But After 2-3 days I get to know it again changed to my card instead of refund.

Means for spoiled apples I paid twice.

Then I called on [protected] for looking into the matter and issue refund. They created case no: FIN0021956 and told me that you will get refund within 10 days.

Now More than 15 days passed but still no action on my case. Called 2-3 times on above number, but no action yet. Attaching receipt for you reference. Please look into it resolve the issue.

Jewel Osco is very bad in issues refund.

Seems I should totally stop going to any of jewel Osco stores.

Some time I returned items to target, Amazon, walmart, Marianos etc, but never seen any issues. Seems all stores good except Jewel Isco.

Jewel-Osco Extremely toxic environment

Hello. I will not reveal any personal info such as myself and other coworkers as I wish to keep my identity private except for the store director.

I used to work at this Jewel Osco. I've heard complaints from coworkers and customers about the store director known as 'Tony Welch' and his assistants. Recently, one of my coworkers quit because she got into a fight with one of the assistant store directors.

The store director has disrespected their own employees and customers through constant berating. He has also made homophobic remarks.

A full removal of the store director to put him out of job, and full reforms around the entire work is strongly encouraged.

Jewel-Osco Bad customer service at the deli

I was in Jewel Food Store on 94th and Ashland, Chicago, IL, today. Friday, June 30, 2022 at around 3:30pm.

I have been a customer of that store for as long as the store has been there. I ordered some chicken at the deli. The young man who waited on me was not friendly at all. I believe he is new because I have not seen him before.

After he gave me my chicken, he did not say "thank you and will that be all for you today." I am used to the courtesy from the workers there. As he started to wait on someone else, I said to him that I was not finished with my order and could he give me something else. He was reply was, "naw."

The young lady who was working with him left and he was at the deli by himself. I went to the service desk and they called the store manager - Mr. Bile. I shared my concern with him and he had someone else complete my order.

Even then, the young man who waited on me was saying to the other worker who waited on me, some smart remarks such as "I don't care - as long as I get my pay-check."

I used to work at Osco years ago and in our training, we were taught - Customer Service. Are you still teaching that?

I was very hurt and disappointed with my service today - very disappointed.

Desired outcome: The Store Manager said that he was sorry but the worker did not. I do not want a refund, however, I would like for the young man (Mr. Bile knows who he is) to be given a strong talking to and told how important his customer service is.

Jewel-Osco Signature Select Cinnamon Rolls

I bought two Cinnamon Roll tubes (12.4 ounce). When I went to open them they did not come out as "rolls" - when I tried to take them out they unrolled so quickly and were hard to roll back in any semblance of a cinnamon roll. The barcode number is [protected]. The expiration date on the lid is August 26, 2022. The other numbers on the lid is:

Jewel-Osco Premade sandwich I bought had a ant in it

I purchased a sandwich from jewels yesterday and as I was on my lunch break I was eating my sandwich in the middle of my sandwich I noticed something black on my bread and when I went to look at it it was an ant

Desired outcome: This cost me to keep throwing up and I started irritation in my throat to where I had to leave my job and go straight to the hospital was sick to my stomach

Jewel-Osco Filling monthly drugs

I have been on many drugs since having my 1st kidney transplant in 2001. I had started with the Jewl-Osco in North Riverside, IL. Well I would have trouble filling drugs every month - depended on who the Pharmacist was in charge. Then when Jewel-Osco store closed they transferred my prescriptions to Jewel-Osco in River Forest. They were fine at first but once again had problems with them not filling the drugs on time or it giving me other. I then had them transferred to Jewel-Osco in Stickney, IL. Well again having problems. In the beginning, everything ran good. Then once again they filled prescriptions with different subs I would not take due to problems I previously had. I would get a text on my cellphone that they were easy to pick up. Well, for two days I only got a call telling me prescription was in. Did not give me any names, etc BUT now did not text me on my cellphone which ones were ready. When I called they told me I DID NOT have it on records to te t me for when it was going to be ready. Just can not believe how this is being handled so badly. Now, they need to call Kidney Doctor to renew a couple of prescriptions that need to be filled and I am now going to be late receiving them. NOT good for me and my health.

Would like to know how this should be handled once again.

Jewel-Osco Pharmacy 95th and stony island chicago [protected] pharmacist sha

My Doctor wrote a prescription for Hydrocodone for pain on April 22, 2022 to be filled and dispensed April 23, 2022. However the pharmacist Sharon said it could not be filled until today April 28, 2022. Her explanation was the last prescription for hydrocodone for me was April 01, 2022. 30 day supply runs out on the 30th of April. I was told it could be filled two days early, which is today April 28, 2022. I called and spoke to the pharmacist, this morning and it was Sharon and she wouldn't fill it until April 30, 2022.

I have Neuropathy and I didn't prescribe this pain medication for myself. The pharmacist, Sharon, "no I am not putting this on my license, if the State or DEA does an audit I could lose my license" She spoke to me as if I was a street drug addict or dealer instead of a patient. She made me feel like I was begging for my medication. We pay for our medication.

In Black neighborhoods, I happen to be Black and 65 years old, seniors and Black people are treated and talked to terribly in our own communities. I don't understand why my prescription can't be filled today, April 28, 2022 as I was told. I also don't want to be disrespected by anyone that works in this store or any store.

Desired outcome: I would like to pick up my prescription today or tomorrow. I want the pharmacist Sharon, to know how unprofessional she was with me.

Jewel-Osco 3487 jewel customer service (fedex)...

Hello, my name is Nichole h. Holland. My husband dropped off a package on Friday 3-25-21 before 3:30 pm. The label was visible and scannable, but package with GRAY TAPE. Not clear. MY package has been sitting there until today when I received a phone call for someone at the store saying FEDEX will not take my package. So, my package has been there for 6 days before I get a freaking call. This is the worst customer service ever. I have told my family and friends about your store and FEDEX. I am done.

Jewel-Osco Treated with raciest comment and stereotyping

I placed and PickUp and Go order with Jewel Osco for 20 pieces of Butter as it was advertised on their weekly ad and online Mobile app. I placed an order for pick up as instructed. I went the next day (3/20/22) to pick up the order and one of the employees comes out with the order I simply asked about my order and he goes "I know what you guys do with this butter." then I asked what do you mean? he goes again "I know what you people do with this". Now at this point, I was getting a bit frustrated as he was imposing something like we are doing something wrong. All we did was place an order as Jewel's mobile app allowed us to do for pick up and go order. As per the weekly ad and mobile app, there was no limit on the butter purchase quantity hence I placed for 20 as I wanted 20 without doing anything wrong. As I kept asking what do you mean to say about your comment to me and he says "I gotta go and ran into the store and says you guys are wiping out my inventory". He not only avoided my question but left with whatever his frustration was in his mind about my 20 pieces of butter purchase. Also, the part I don't get is if you don't want to sell then why are you stocking your inventory? My biggest problem with this conversation is that I right paid for the price and followed all the rules and regulations for Jewel Osco so what was his problem with my purchase? Also, if the Jewel didn't want me to purchase 20 pieces then simply put a limit on the quantity. Now I can't really speak for poor inventory management by Jewel Osco to blame that on customers purchasing what they advertised. Also, another problem with this conversation is it's NOT that I am getting it for FREE to STEALING or RESELLING or anything wrong.

I could not resist but go inside the store and inform the store manager about this incident and the store manager said he will talk to the employee regardless I am very disappointed with our local Jewel Osco for such a racist comment that was imposed on me and my people.

Jewel-Osco Disrespectful service/ attempt to cheat me

This morning I bought 2 packages of Brie cheese. There was a buy one get one free sale. The cashier Hyacinth rang me up and I paid for everything. The bill was higher than I had estimated so I looked it over and saw I was charged for both of the cheeses.

I pointed this out to the cashier and she very hesitantly looked for the manager then tried to dismiss me. I asked her to page the manager. Who came and did not seem to be able to grasp the situation despite the cashier clearly explaining it to her several times. The cashier seemed to be getting in trouble because I was complaining. The manager told her to ring up one cheese and they did something with the cash register. The manager then tried to dismiss me. I asked her what she had done and if she was going to refund the price of one of the cheeses. She tried to dismiss me again. I got angry and told het once again I had already overpaid. She finally gave me my money back but was rude about it.

I shop at Jewel often, but I really do not like to feel someone is trying to cheat me or that I am stupid enough to think she had actually done something with the cash register. I also don't like to see her attitude towards the cashier. Jewel is closer to me but Aldis is cheaper and the employees much friendlier overall.

Desired outcome: I would like to know you value my business and that I can trust you not to cheat me. I would also like for the employees over all to be friendlier.

Jewel-Osco Trip and injury, I witnessed today at 1:25p. m, 655 main street nw, bourbonnais, 60914 to a senior.

I was walking behind a senior Caucasian lady. She could not pull out the first cart so she moved pass the middle carts to the third row of carts to our left. She had trip on the middle rug we both were walking on. She hit her head on the the third row of carts to my left along with her left knee. She rolled. I told her stay still. I called out to the produce gentlemen whom had come out to run and get help. Another dark haired gentlemen had come in behind me whom offered his coat to clear the blood off her eye. I called 911. The Jewel cashier employee instructed the cart staff male white to move the rugs. I reported everything to 911 dispatch. The manager John told me it is not new someone falls here every day. John was attempting to force her to leave the store. John pulled out a orange chair attempting to force her to sit in it. I asked her to not move. John was stumping on the carpet her and I was on I looked down a lump of carpet was up. I was not going to let John injury her any further or I. She was 75 years old but could not remember her name right off until several minutes later. I had to beg the ambulance driver to take her to the hospital. But still when I had left Jewel Osco in Bourbonnais, Illinois they remained there.

Desired outcome: I asked that John along with the female cahier to be terminated with no retirement benefits period for attempting to harm a senior along with I a witness.

Jewel-Osco I deserve apology and compensation for my pain and suffering. I deeply humiliated

The moment I went inside I was judged by a worker which happens to be the store manager, I was minding my own business gathering the food from shopping list.

I can see him stalking me and hiding behind the box of food by aisles ending in the corner peeking and stalking.

I confronted him and ask what do you want? He tells are buying all of those item.

I immediately ask for the store manager, he tells me he’s the store manager. And that’s it. So, I walked to the front to look for another employee that could be out.

I paid for my items and ask for the higher manager. They told me to call Steve in the morning 8 a. m

I took a picture of the store manager that has treated me like a criminal instead of a paying customer!

Jewel-Osco Pickup service

I am very disturbed that an employee would look a package (already paid for) and change one item with 5 pieces of fish to 5 items overcharging me by $81.62. Luckily the mischarge was caught. However, no apology was offered and they attempted to short me $.42. In addition, they told me I would have to wait on the correction. Why would an employee change an order already paid for. And, the fact that she thought the one fish packet with 5 pieces of salmon meant 5 packages is beyond belief. I think I deserve and an apology and the employee needs training. The employee was out of line and the fact that she was willing to charge me $81.62 for one package containing 5 pieces of Salmon portions gives me great concern.The date of this occurrence was Saturday January 29, 2022. Note: I did speak to someone on the phone and a store manager but the were busy and blew it off.

Desired outcome: I would very much like a sincere apology on this poorly handled situation and the employee needs training.

Jewel-Osco Self checkout attendant / self proclaimed owner

I'm filing a complaint about how I was verbally attacked by a store manager name tagged Lynn N at Jewel in Lombard at Roosevelt and Main this morning at 7am.
As I was at the self check out all alone literally the only person in all the lanes, I'm greeted by Lynn yelling "if your not going to wear your mask you need to stand 6ft away, I have Grandchildren!" I don't know how anyone at the self check out could stand 6ft away from it and check out? I did have my mask on while shopping and wasn't even thinking it wasn't on. Just super rude! Alls she had to do was ask nicely. The woman thinks she owns the place and thinks she has the right to tell customers what to do. If I see her again I will say something to her. She doesn't look good in representing the team at Jewel after spending over $300.00 in grocery's.
