The worst customer service my family have ever experienced in all our years of doing taxes. The tax preparer named Harold Cooubs at the Walmart at 4700 S. Flamingo Rd. Cooper City, FL 33330. He was rude, disrespectful and dismissive to the concerns my 72 year old Father had about his taxes. Apparently my dad had 2 tax return receipts with 2 different tax return amounts on them. My dad simply wanted to know what happened. It is almost 2 months and he have never recieved his tax return. Yes, Harold was not the one who did my father's taxes and we understood that but as a so called professional, he could have helped us. My dad went to see him in 2 separate occasions where my dad was yelled at and turned away. Then as his daughter, I went to step in to intervene. I was yelled at and he tried to dismiss our concerns by telling us to find out for ourselves because he had a customer. But I persistent and after 2 hours, we finally got the answers we were seeking. The whole experience was unpleasant and Harold shouldn't be allowed to work with people period, especially the elderly!

For many years, I have filled my own taxes using one of your competitor's online services, but as life events and financial circumstances changed, I turned to "tax pro's" to ensure the accuracy of my return and the peace of mind and security that comes with having a tax expert complete my return, in the event the IRS decides to audit me. I was extremely satisfied with the service provided from Jackson Hewitt with filing my 2017 and my 2018 return, however, that all changed when filling my 2019 return and again with filing my 2020 return. My wife and I still have not received our refund from our 2019 return because it was returned to us because the Jackson Hewitt filer failed to sign the return, (we could not file electronically because me and my new wife did not have a joint bank account at that time). Having lost confidence in the competence of the staff at the Suffolk Virginia office, we went to the Portsmouth Virginia office to file our 2020 return. To our dismay we found that ineptitude and incompetence are not exclusive to Jackson Hewitt's Suffolk office.
As stated, we have not received our 2019 refund due to the incompetence of one of your preparers and now we are being told that our 2020 refund will also be delayed because our dependent daughters return was filed electronically prior to ours being filed electronically, therefore we can not file ours electronically. This came with the inconvenience of having to drive all the way back to Portsmouth, pick up our return then filling it ourselves through the US mail.
Your tax preparer lost our social security card and other documents, only later to find them on the floor by her chair. Your tax preparer failed to input our college payments to two college's and only input them when her co-worker prompted her to do so. Then, she was unable to recall her own password and had to write out her own social security number in order to recall it. This level of ineptitude does not instill confidence in Jackson Hewitt's ability to file my return correctly much less maximizing any return I may qualify for.
The service I received was hardly worth the $425.00 that Jackson Hewitt charges. I did not pay $425.00 for someone to punch in some basic numbers, I paid the $425.00 for the expertise and professionalism that you advertise that your employees possess.

Tax prep was done incorrectly leafing to a letter from the IRS stating I owed 203, 000 dollars inn unpaid taxes. Was finally corrected by a different tax preparer whom I had to pay for this service. I simply want my refund from Jackson Newly for the fee's I paid for their error. Please respond asap or I will refer this matter to my state DPR

I filed my taxes for 2019 in Feb of 2020 and they gave me an American Express serve card that 2844 should have went on and now it's been a year. I contacted them and the office I filed at was closed so I finally got someone on the phone and they told me to contact IRS. So I sent a certified letter to the dispute department at the IRS office and they wrote me back stating that there is no dispute and I should have gotten my money by now. I have emailed Jacksonhewitt and I am awaiting response. My name was Aldona Carmichael before I went back to my madian name but that shouldn't matter because I will be filing this year with my madian name. $664 DOLLARS TO FILE TAXES*I think its important I share my experience*. Before I begin I want to advise prior to making a apt the office was already aware of what situation I needed help with. And i'm sure there have seen situations like mine with previous clients where in the end it ended up costing the taxpayer higher because of whatever needed to do done. So in no way was I looking for anyone to tell me "Hey it's gonna be $664 to file here" how would they know but I was expecting Kristy Flick to advise when I came to her prior something on the lines of "hey i've seen this in similar situations this could be a bit costly" but no that would be to honest I guess. Here is my story - I went to Jackson Hewitt and was assisted by Kristy Flick and kyle Nickler. I had come in to see kristy prior and told her about my tax situation due to my job was not withholding correct state taxes I had moved out of state I advised I was scared I may owe and im a single parent (so apparently money was on my mind) she knew all this before me coming to see her. At no point during my initial conversation prior to coming in for my tax apt was I advised that I had a "more complex situation" that may require a higher fee to prepare taxes (even if they did not no the cost upfront they knew we needed to use multiple forms which is what there now stating drove the price up". So I made the appointment all I saw was a friendly person who was eager to help in Kristy. I went in got my taxes done during the process everyone was looking puzzled asking me to go home to get more docs and come back I was 100% complying and in the end they charged me $664 I was beyond shocked. When I began to look puzzled Kristy advised me" I no your wondering why its that high its because you have a lot of papers it's a lot of work ". Honestly my concern was had I known upfront the estimated cost in fees I could have then decided if I wanted to use there services or not but I was not given the option. No one brought up cost until it was over let alone I knew my tax situation was confusing but again I still believe I should have been told upfront this may be a little more and let me decide beforehand if I am ok with the fees BEFORE she filed my taxes. She advised me I needed a lot of forms that drove the cost up but at no point did she stop and say" hey this is looking a little costly would you like me to continue"To me this was dishonest and I will not be returning EVER. At Least when I went to HR BLOCK (whom kristy complained about while I was there. I still knew no matter what my taxes would NOT skyrocket to over $600. Again to be clear I am not stating kristy does not deserve any compensation because she did file my taxes. I AM saying kristy was dishonest and did not disclose the fees upfront (and again if she did not know the fees upfront that is fine too but I am not the first customer who sat in front of her with my case so she knew it would require multiple documents which in her case is worth the price I should have been informed that before we started) had she done so then I could have choose to stay or leave and I would have left and went to HR block. Next day - I called the location to speak to kristy to disclose my concern she told me" I could have just got up and left😩". I understand that but i'm also not a ungrateful person I am a honest single mom and I was blindsided it did not take a rocket scientist to see when I came to her prior that I had a complex situation she knew this so my thing is even if you didn't no the cost up front to tell me you knew I would not be paying a fee similar to a customer whom did not have my situation would be paying. I called kristy to asked if my information was already accepted by the IRS I would have reserved the services and went to Block but she stated it was so I could do nothing. I will be taking this further filing a complaint with *BBB *Consumer Affairs * PA State Board of Accountancy. I see Jackett Hewitt has a lot of complaints regarding fees. To make myself clear again Kristy knew my situation prior she knew I was a single parent and worried about my tax situation due to my job. When it was all done and over I owe $1200 to PA due to my job not changing address im already worried about that this was a huge payment I have to make now I have to deal with the outrageous fee to file my taxes. She should have said in the beginning" I understand your situation but we do charge her document could cost alot". no one cared : (

the dis repecting person at jackson hewitt office in north tampa hillsborogh ave threw my return out never mailed it in i am waithin 8 months for all my return money I had to dig up partial paper work for the supervisor to try and send in over 1500 just florida federl money 300 south carolina an175 from ga . My tax preparer was working on mine and somebody else's taxes at same time so I can understand how he messed mine up to start. I have two self employed incomes grocery delivery and food delivery only gave me a deduction for 5000 miles and 100 dollar cell phone bill however when I called to have my taxes stopped because I noticed I did not get the 4700 credit for my grocery business that I am entitled too they proceeded to tell me there is no standard mileage deduction which there is because I got it from turbo tax even have a screenshot of it and my taxes are correct but I have no schedule c loss and profit for 1 of my 1099 nec business Alton Illinois Jackson Hewitt on center drive Nicole is the lady and I believe and there was a man their that did my taxes can't remember his name but they are both unprofessional and not at all knowledgeable

I have been unjustly demoted from office manager for possibly exposing a tax fraud case — I reported the case to my uplink and within 17 hours I received a phone call about the demotion while the manager and employee are still in the office together — I feel that this may lead to further harrassment and may cause my job to be at stake

I can share all the details but the bottom line is I'm already getting audited by the IRS from the taxes jackson hewitt did last year. YES, I went to them again this year and they are unable to find someone in their local organization that understands gambling winnings and losses and are saying I owe when in fact I should get money back. When I asked them to go through it with me, and show me the IRS guidelines about the areas we disagree, they simply said, they will not do my taxes. They said the lady doing them now is there expert, and if she can't do them, they don't know what to tell me. WHAT? Get someone else. This can't be the absolute expert in Jackson Hewitt. I don't care if they are local or we talk online. You cannot tell me they do not have any qualified persons to do my taxes.

I am curious as to why Tax Companies such as Turbo Tax and, H&R Block are working diligently with the IRS to correct banking information due, to third party companies receiving the Stimulus Check. Yet, your company is wanting millions of individuals to file their taxes early, when in the reality this is prolonging the process and, crippling those who are already struggling. This is pure laziness as in your statement, this will take to long, well instead of sitting around and, hurting those be proactive as I am sure all of those working for this company have not gone without.

On [protected], I called J-H ofc and asked if there were any changes in appts. because of the virus. The recept. said most people are dropping off taxes and they will call when done. Ok, I brought in my paperwork and was greeted by rude recept. This was on [protected]. I have a hard last name to pronounce, but after I corrected her she continued to mispronounce my name.
On [protected] I received a call from a Dan Olsen, I was told my taxes were done .I made arrangement to come in to sign .
When I got there I was confronted with the same rude smart mouth recept.
She went and spoke to Dan Olsen and gave him some of her rude mouth.
When I sat down I was asked my name of which he already knew. Then he asked me to spell it, and he couldn't write it correctly. I could tell he was having a good laugh at my expense. After all that he never went over my papers and attempted to explain what was done. I asked him if he had done my taxes, he said no . Although his name is down as preparer. I had to go home and go over my own papers and call Dan Olsen back to ask questions
It would seem to me with situation we're in with this virus these people would have more class then they showed. I believe they should be punished somehow, for their child like manners.

This all happened at Jackson-Hewitt office in Mesa, AZ 85209 on Southern Ave.

I filed my taxes 1/29/20 I was asked if I has received anything in the mail regarding my daughters insurance from health care online I had bought it for 2 months I had told the lady No I never got anything about it. she didn't offer to help me get this paper just went ahead and filed my taxes and I get charged 500 + dollars. just for me to get a letter from the IRS saying that I wont get my taxes approved until I have that 1095 filled out. so I printed it off IRS website I don't understand why this wasn't done or at least tell me to do this and I would have returned the next day with my proper paperwork. so its been since January. I have a problem paying this company $500 for something I could have done for free . I could mess them up myself for nothing. That's why I come to a well known company like this is because I would hope they know what they are doing. So i still don't have my taxes back I'm furious that a $500 fee will be taken out of my return and for what? making a mess of my taxes ? !

i was approved for a refund anticipation loan then some.mysterious guy from jackson hewit called the bank and retracted it then i called and went into the.office and spoke to the owner of.the franchise to be told he couldnt help me and no one works at.his.offices that retracted the loan then spoke to his office manager which was.helpful and.started.helping me.but was going in.circles cuz jackson hewitt wasnt.going to take blame for it so.the bank is.blaming jackson hewitt and.jackson hewitt is blaming the.bank and that.they.dont know.what.to.do so i.went.into.the.office.and.brought.a.coworker and.spoke to.the owner which was mad and then claimed my id wasnt.real which i just got.from the dmv and he said he.couldnt help me and.i needed.to submit my taxes.thru another company but they already was.submitted by jackson hewitt and was told because it was.my.first time doing taxes thru them that they.couldnt help.me.they didnt even.help my.friend i.brought in.to.get.h3r taxes.done also i.took someone els3 but to a different jackson hewitt and they never paid.me.for.the.referral also i was.told.by.the.office manager that.my.refund shows.disbursed but i never received anything and.the girl that did.my.taxes never returned.my calls after this and.neither did the office manager the.owner refuses to let me.speak to him and.i.was.told.by.someone that answered.the.phone.that this.has.happened at.his other.4 stores i think.they are.doing something fishy and.i.still have.not.received.my.taxes plus.when.i.went.to.jackson hewitt i.was.told.they pay u.to.switch over.to.them but the owner.said no i cant.switch.to.them.so im unsure what.to.do

I am disgusted with jackson hewitt and will never again use them! I have alwaysndonenky own taxes and decided to try jackson hewitt this year to utilize the refund advance and to receive the bonus $200 for switching over to them. Out of a 947 dollars refund I only recieved 447 after the fees were taken and I repaid the 200 advance I am hysterically crying ans beyond upset I paid more in fees then I got back?! The woman who did my taxes in the jonesville walmart lied to my face and tried to tell me that the 200 fee was for the eic! Which I did not need as well as knew that was a lie it wasnt until further examing the paperworki saw where it really went to her for being unknowledgable about life, the 200 advance was not worth the massive money hit I took! I paid 200 plus for this ignorant woman to prepare my taxes which she did not want to admit as I would have refused service immediately as well she did not give me the 200 for switching! So on January 29 2020 I went into to Walmart and saw Jackson Hewitt set up, at the time they were not busy so I figured I'd give Jackson Hewitt a try because I normally go to H&R Block. The representative's name was Christina, she seemed like a nice women I gave her my W2s and she asked me if I was claiming any dependence I said no and she never asked me another question after that. Then about 15 minutes later she told me that my federal would be on my card in a couple hours top and she specifically said that the charge came of only federal not state nor did she inform me I could of paid upfront I didn't need a advance So I waited the night goes by still nothing so I call back the next t day and another woman told me 7 to 14 days now had she just been honest from the start I may not have done my taxes their. Now let's not forget I have two 1095c from both my jobs that she never even ask about so now my taxes are wrong. So on 02/13/20 I was concerned first of all my state taxes came first and they deducted 147.95 for the services okay I understand you guys need to be paid but I was told it came of my federal. So I called that day I was speaking with a man who was very rude I explained to him my concerns about my taxes not being correct because those forms for my health insurance had not been put in to my taxes and why did they take it out of my state when I was guaranteed it only came out of federal mind you my state taxes where only 257 so I was very upset I told him first of all I was lied to from the start she said my federal taxes would be on my card in 2 to 3 hours tops then he says it usually 24 hours I said well where is it then he said I don't know I'll look it says the 17 well why was I told 2 to 3 hours I was guaranteed that and further more she asked only one question didn't bother asking about my 1095c so I was upset and I told him Ithis is why I go to H&R block and he said and that's where you should be going! So then he asked what I wanted and at that time I wanted my bill reduced he then told me "you got the cheapest package can't get any lower then that" so I said well my gosh how much more do u have to pay to get your taxes done and he thousands. He was so rude I asked him if there was someone else I could speak to cause him and I were getting no where and he said no I'm it. At this point I want all my money back my taxes were done wrong I was lied to and treated horribly by your staff I will be filing a formal complaint if this is not resolved in a timely manner. I have already called the number for complaints and they said someone would get back to me and I'm still waiting

First of all I was ten minutes early for my appointment, and the actual workers at Jackson Hewitt showed up to the office 10 minutes after they were supposed to open, secondly my appointment was scheduled for 11 am and nobody cares to start helping me until 12:15 pm. Thirdly I was late for work due the Jackson Hewitt employee not knowing how to complete his job and having to keep leaving and asking for help. I really hope there are not any errors on my tax return and two I hope Jackson Hewitt choose better employee s going forward because there is nothing professional about showing up to work late and leaving your customers waiting in a lobby for an hour when they have a whole appointment scheduled. I hope y'all do something to this ghetto [censored] office filled with employees who are stupid and slow.

My complaint is concerning the early refund american express is temporely down and I was informed that they are not sure if it will take a few days. Well some of us that have limited income really count on using this service to help those who are unable to save up enough to buy christmas gifts . Of course im angry, disappointed .Ive run into so many issues more then I care to say and I still remained a loyal custmer but this takes the cake it sucks so close to christmas.
