Realtor.com cobroke is a joke

I signed up for Realtor.com's CoBroke program - unfortunately, before I found the other complaints on here that would've warned me away from it. I ended up with a share and a partial share of two zip codes, and she told me I'd get 60-72 leads per year. Well, in two months, I've gotten four leads - one of which I missed because I was racing with the other agent who shared the lead and they got to the customer first, and three others that were for low end homes, and either had bad phone numbers and emails, or weren't serious buyers. Their lead service is worse than others I've used, and for what I'm getting, the most expensive, too. I do feel they misrepresent the service by overpromising. I do not wish to be stuck for ten more months in this agreement, and wish to close my account without further charges or penalties.

Realtor.com trying to cancel service with them

Realtor.com and their showcase listing solution is worthless. They are charging me $80+ per month and say I have to stay under contract with them for a year. I never signed anything with this company to say I was in a one year contract. When calling this company they do not call you back - you can send messages and they send automated responses and then do not call you. you can be on hold for 30 minutes or longer only to be told that the person you need to talk with is not available.

I agree with your sentiment regarding the scam... Realtor.com USED TO be legitimate, however, they've since "hired" telemarketing scammers who will make false claims and 'provide' you with false leads- dead leads. I'm going to request a full refund, after citing the facts, and if they don't refund they will be on the receiving end of all legal action, including a complaint with the BBB among others.

Realtor.com - the biggest scam website ever!

I contacted realtor.com for "leads", which is what they really sell. If you're ever stupid enough to post your real information on that website, you will receive tons of calls from realtors, because they sell your info. Actually, the higher the price range you're looking at, the more expensive you are, as a lead. I signed up to receive "leads" in a certain...

Realtor.com NEGLIGENCE BLACK MOLD

I recently vacated the premises of a Condo in Gulfport, MS Mills Road #32. This condo unbenounced to me had MAJOR BLACK MOLD ISSUES. After finding it and taking action by conatcting the Property Management (Owner/Company Broker) & Owner of this Condo NOTHING was done. My daughter and I stayed sick with headaches and nausua daily. Becuase, the Persons/Owners did nothing! The Broker would not even take calls from me nor my husband concerning this matter. I broke my Lease and moved for the safety of our health. We payed the price they sued me. And, the judge would not look at the case so the are garnishing my wages $225-$300 a week. Where is my tenant rights? I am seeking my tenant rights at this time. This company has been allowed not only to take me down for their lack in this very bad situation but, the also have tenants living there right now. They made it very clear that the owner would not bust ot walls to take care of the BLACK MOLD growing in every elevator shaft and coming through the cracks on a wall in the living area in which they probably simply painted over. What can be done? I will not give up that is for sure. I will seek the justice I deserve. At this point I have counted my losses and accepted was has happened. This is not Right. Do not be a victim of issues like this tenants do have rights. I have been told about several issues concerning this.If one judge hears all the cases and sees the company owners/property managers all the time and has developed a longer stemming relationship with you are not heard. Know just becuase the company wins 100% of the time does not mean you can not fight to get your rights redelivered! Do not stop there!

Realtor.com misrepresentation of products

Realtor.com sales persons promote their products to real estate agents and brokers via phone solicitations inaccurately. If you agree to a program offered (usually at a significant discount) they ask for your credit card information. Once you provide them credit card information, the problems begin. They send you a plethora of email and in one of them you will find a cancellation policy that is different then represented on the phone. I found this out when Realtor.com charge my credit card for a second year of a program I was told could be cancelled any time after 10 months when actually it had to be cancelled prior to the 10 month timeframe. Realtor.com "accidentally' charged my credit card double the amount for this supposed contractly obligation of a second year that was no, according to Realtor.com non-cancellable. Next you will spent hours on the phone and on email chancing down someone at Move.com to discuss the program dispute with. Ultimately one comes to understand that they have your credit card number and don't really care what was represented on the phone. They claim as long as they document in the cancellation policy in an email, even after the fact, you are contractly obligated. Well I disagree and so did my credit card company. I was able to get the charges reversed and blocked Realtor.com from charging on both my business card. Beware and do not believe the slick salesman con job. Ryan Gleason was my sales person whos company notes represented something completely different then we discussed and Mark Wasserman was the 'Broker Consultant' who claims to oversees the sales folks and states they have little to no problems with this kind of automatic renewal and cancellation issues. That is until you look at blogs and see that Mark apparently has a problem with reality as well. Do not do business with Realtor.com, you will get a poor service, little to no clients or legitimate leads, probably be over charged. What legitimate marketing companys claim to only sell 2 year agreements. Please... Also share this with your real estate associates..

Realtor.com bait and switch pricing

I called REaltor.com to get a quote on their enhanced listing service. I called back twice, MOnday and Tuesday AM and spoke once to Nick and once to another salesperson and was given same quote. This is quote they base from looking at your MLS log in so it is accurate to you. I called my listing customer and committed to the Realor.com service based on the price quote. I called back Tues afternoon and Nick took my credit card information and said it would be live in 15 minutes, using my MLS log in he once again confirmed the pricing... that would be three times in 2 days of getting a price commitment. Nick called back and said sorry, it will be almost double the price because I have had more listings than he thought and so need to be in another price bracket. This was information available to him and the other salesperson everytime they looked up my MLS and gave me a quote. this is such a scam for them to just push a button and turn on more pictures but they have us realtors caught. I was promised a call within 24 hours when asked if manager would call... still no call back. This is a company that does not take their commitments seriously. I recommend you be cautious in your dealings as they do not live up to what they say in honoring pricing or returning calls.

Realtor.com lead gen service

How is it that there are so many scams on the internet that go after realtors? The one company you think you can trust since they are associated with nar and they are worse than the other companies with their slick well trained salesman that want to tie you into a product you dont want. I too have been taken by realtor.com with an agent profile and banner ad. I wish it was only $99/month. I am paying $283+/mo since december 2010 and have received no leads nothing from having my profile and banner on their site. To top it off I spent two months of calling trying to get them to update my banner ad which had a brokerage firm I had not worked for in over 2 years. I have just taken the battle on and will be calling my credit card company to fight this one since they gave me the company line that I could not cancel until dec 2011. The sales rep who I have never spoken to wants me to contact his "creative team" so they can fix my banner as if this would make any difference since I want to cancel. They are holding me hostage right now and I am mad as heck! I thought they would be more honest than this but obvioiusly not. It seems customer satisfaction is not on their priority list. I am now being referred to the acccount exec since they cannot gloss this one over anymore. We will see what happens...

Hello, there. My name is Brian. I was terminated from Realtor.com this past March. The 'real' reason they fired me was because I refused to participate in the unethical sales tactics and illegal activity which is all centered around making the next level in your
monthly compensation plan. I have a law firm who has picked up my case, it is very strong and mediation is set for this November. Will you please help me as I gather dozens of agents across the country to unite in putting an end to the culture on the sales floor?
Warmly,
Brian

Realtor.com deceptive sales practices

As has happened with many others, I was contacted via telephone by a very aggressive sales rep for realtor.com who was pitching the buyer assist program. Many assertations were made about the traffic on realtor.com, the large number of leads the program would (not could but would) generate, etc etc etc. When I decided to try one area to see how it performed, I was unaware that I was agreeing to a 12 month contract. I assumed that contracts had to be reviewed before being enforceable. I also expected that I would be sent a review contract if a contract was, in fact, required, in order to make a decision as to whether or not the terms were agreeble. Instead, tthe so-called contract was just a receipt for payment, which showed up as a one month debit. I don't read all my receipts top to bottom when the amount and date that shows on the screen is accurate, so I was unaware that, buried at the bottom of the receipt, there was a notation about a 3 day cancellation period (their version of a "contract"). Once you have time to read the email and set up your site, if you ever discover this little notation hidden at the bottom of your receipt, that 3 day period is long past. You haven't received any leads yet, but their response to that will be that its too soon... And they'll issue another "guarantee" that you'll get leads as promised.
They may even send you a fake lead or two just to shut you up, as I suspect they did me. Whether or not that is the case, their leads are very very poor and you'll get very very few as an average subscriber. Additonally, if you try to cancel or communicate, you'll get the old run-around.
These are sales practices you see from bad health clubs and internet scams, not something we'd expect from an organization that supposedly supports realtors.
Realtor.com buyer assist is a waste of money for most, if not all, and real estate agents considering it should be very wary!

Realtor.com is the absolute worst company I've ever done business with. After being solicited many times by one of their sales reps, I gave them a shot. I signed up with them mainly because the sales man said that I can cancel at any time and that they're weren't any commitments. I figured why not buy a lot of zips and figure out if this system worked for me. After paying $700 plus a month for a total of 4 months, I noticed what a scam this place really was. They sent me worthless leads. Realtor.com sent me customers inquiring about deeply discounted properties. They sent me leads of people asking about a property priced at 80k when in reality the lowest price home on the market in that zip was 300k plus. This happened non stop for 4 months and I began to become fed up. I wrote 25 emails to realtor.com requesting my services being terminated with not one response. I called in multiple times and was given brick walls from sales reps teling me "I need to take this matter up with a manager and that they're response time for getting back to me would be 24-48 hours". After requesting to speak to a manager multiple times and waiting weeks to hear back from someone, I demanded to speak to a manager immediately and would not hang up with Realtor.com until they made that happen. On a side note, I know someone who used to work at realtor.com and he informed me that in an effort to retain their business, when put in a corner like that, realtor.com sales reps just hands the phone to another sales rep and poses to be a manager. I WITNESSED FIRST HAND PROOF OF THIS. The moment I demanded to speak to a manager, the sales rep just handed my call off to another sales rep. This is how I proved it. I jotted the name and phone number down of the person claiming to be a manager, I then had one of my realtor friends call her asking about starting a lead generation contract with the company, they talked for a bit and after a while my realtor friend asked if she was a manager or a sales rep... Her answer was "I'm not a manager sir, I'm a sales rep but I can help you get started with the service and you will be able to cancel within the first 3 days with no commitments". After documenting all of this, I tried demanding realtor.com to cancel my services with them. After being thrown another brick wall, I threatened to cancel my credit cards and then they threatened to send me to collections. After numerous attempts trying to cancel my services with them, I produced all my proof to the National Board of Realtors liaison with Realtor.com and he took care of canceling my account and I got a "sincere" apology from someone at realtor.com claiming to be a manager. STAY AWAY

Unfortunately my experience with Buyer Assist from Realtor.com was exceptionally poor. Slick sales practices and bad product, but worst of all, shockingly poor customer care. This is, in my opinion, a total waste of money. As noted in other reviews, very few leads and the ones received were mostly spam! People trying to sell the agent something! If you want to pay 700.+ a year for spam, fine, otherwise don't be suckered into this sham of a service.

Realtor.com boycott realtor.com

We feel that realtor.com has not been responsive to the needs of realtors and that the current relationship between nar and move, inc. (as currently constituted) is not in our interest as realtors for the following reasons:

1) move, inc. Has a long standing pattern of raising fees on realtors and charging them exhorbitant fees in comparison with the costs of developing a national real estate listings site. Fees (which yet again are expected to be raised in 2009) are out of line with what other national listing aggregator websites cost their shareholders. Why should we be paying many multiples of what companies like trulia and zillow are costing their shareholders for aggregating real estate listings on their sites?

2) after being provided all of our listings and photos, they have stripped off all but four, unless realtors pay them an annual "enhancement" fee. This effectively takes our clients and holds them hostage until we pay their "fee". Much of this fee goes right back into "sales expenses" which are move, inc.'s marketing to realtors that they must have their service. This adds huge costs to what is needed for a national website and is not acceptable.

3) in a world where many websites offer realtors social networking opportunities to connect realtors to potential clients, realtor.com has been sorely lacking in developing these types of programs.

4) the 2007 10k (released feb 28, 2008) from move, inc. Shows staggering general and administrative expenses of over million and sales expenses of over 8 million.. These expenses are ridiculous given their online properties and a development expense of million. While we realize that this includes top producer and other assets of move, inc., that actually makes the ratio of development / sales, general and administrative expense even more out of line. We are tired of having nar tell us to pay for their inefficiency.

We are not against paying for what we receive. If you want to charge us for "enhancing our contact information" then fine. But don't hold our clients and customers hostage. That is unconscionable. Many of them don't know what you are doing to us and if they did, they would find it incredibly offensive.

More importantly, because the national association of realtors leased the rights to our web presence to third parties, they put themselves in the position of defending realtor.com's inefficiencies and deficiencies to the general membership for their own financial gain.

We call on nar to take steps to buy back realtor.com from move, inc. Or to buy a controlling interest in move, inc. To provide a national listings site for realtors at a price that is reasonable and rational. With the current stock price so low, a controlling interest can be purchased at a reasonable price and other assets like topproducer can be spun off to repay (partially) the investment. This is a strategy that makes sense.

Until nar seriously takes up this issue and hears our concerns, we vow to raise awareness, talk to the press, let our clients know what you are up to, and most importantly, we will not continue to pay higher and higher fees to cover move, inc. S inefficiencies and largess.

I am a Realtor. I have a Realtor.com Realtor account. On Aug. 30, 2022 I called Realtor.com Customer Service Line to ask a quick question. I was on hold for 2 hours & 40 minutes before a Representative answered my call. That is flat-out unacceptable for any business, and especially for a Department called Customer Service.
