Intuit Turbotax premier

April 4, 2018 / 8:15 pm PST

Case #[protected] & [protected]

Intuit is an exceptionally poor company to deal with; which is a generous description "at best". As has been shared by thousands of unhappy customers on this site and others throughout the Internet Intuit provides little to no customer service, hides any of their customer service contact numbers from the public and if you are lucky enough to find a customer service number; expect that you will never make it through their customer call queuing system - designed to "weed you out" and make certain you will never speak to a living breathing human with the capability to address the problem or issue, no matter the causation or reason.

This company took a hidden fee from me by means of their own web site errors that would not allow me to successfully build the necessary customer profile to facilitate a credit card payment for the filing of an individual state return ($24.95). When this occurs on an e-filing your only option is to have the state fee taken from any refund you may be due but alas they have a hidden $39.95 fee to provide this service, in essence an "add on" fee on top of a fee, for the privilege of using your funds to pay for a filing fee, all because their poorly designed web portal would not allow a customer to complete the steps necessary to facilitate a credit card payment transaction.

After 2.5 hours on hold, seven phone calls being dropped or rerouted to non-existent extensions within their company I have officially come to the conclusion that they have "ripped me off" and given me no recourse to obtain any type of refund or remuneration for the errors they themselves caused.

Stay away from this company and its products for if you encounter any problem you will have no mechanism of resolution, which is the reason to use a credit card in the first place, to obtain some level of buyer protection - which Intuit itself will not afford you as one of their "despised & whinny" customers.

Intuit Turbotax deluxe

I've used Turbotax for years, but I am tired of being lied to. They falsely advertise and claim, "you can go back to where you left off" when you re-open the program. That is a load of crap. The program always takes you back to the starting page. Back when the program was on 3 1/2 inch disk, it would take back to the very spot you stopped, but it has not had the ability to do that in at least 8 to 10 years, but they advertise it will take you back.

What really burns me up is that they won't even give you a straight answer as to how you are supposed to get back to where you left off. If you ask that question from their Q&A help files, two things will happen. You either get a red banner that reads, this question has been deleted, or archived, or you get some BS answer that has nothing to do with your question.

The company doesn't even provide real customer service help. If you try to log onto their help page, they ask you to seek help from the on-line community. Hell, I didn't buy the program from the community, I bought it from Intuit. Therefore, Intuit's computer techs, if they have any, should be answering the questions, not some community of users. I have no problem with seeking help from other people or sources, but I should be able to get a straight answer from a company who sold me a product.

I waste a lot of time trying to get back to the place I let off. Sure, I can go to the tab where I left off, but I will still have to start at the beginning of some section I have already finished. That's not taking be back to where I left off, that's me stubbling through the program until I luck up on the place I stopped.

Intuit Intuit prepaid debit card

Ok... On the site it says I can use at atm... So far tried at 3 locations said card was not valid and could not be used, checked balance online etc checked pin etc, activation has been set... As I used it to pay a 23 dollar bill I owed leaving 469.00 on card. However... No bank will transefer the funds into my personal account... I tried to have taxes go directly to my account but your free tax filing will only let you get it on stupid perepaid card, I need access to the money... Not a card... Trying to pay a person for a vehicle and he has no way of accepting this card, I will never again use your services after this you are falsifying info and its wrong... I'm disgusted

Well first of all the information was false about taking money out of tam
Secondly there is no way to transfer money into another account
Which I was told could be done by one of your employees on feb 22
I am trying to purchase a vehicle.. The guy needs 400 cash but no atm will let you take more than 200 out at a time each time charges me 2.00. Which takes away my hard earned money. I am absolutely never again going to use this method for my tax return... Its [censor] and... A lot of places will not take it. Also... I did do what was asked of me by an intuit person on the phone that any bank can transfer funds from card to my account... Also not true... I am both disgusted and frustrated... Had I known this would happen I would have had you send it directly to my bank account. Shoddy business ethics and super pissed

I got the Turbo Tax Debit Card. Wasn't having too many issues until I called the bank that I had heard of a bill pay scam going on. Before I knew it that had my account frozen and no one really seemed to know how to get my money or my card back. I called and called and was constantly told a million different excuses from people who couldn't even speak English. Then when I asked to talk to a manager they told me there weren't any. Really - no manager. Finally someone started telling me I needed to talk to corporate. What's corporates phone number. Oh we can't give that to you against the rules. Well then how do I talk to them. They will call you. At least 5 times I tried to get corporate to call me. No such luck. Finally after many threats of lawsuits and bad press I get a call from the 'angelic' corporate. They can speak English but only so that you know you are getting screwed farther. So now we're having to wait another week at least while the fraud department investigates further. I thought that was why it went there in the first place! If I'm lucky they will release my funds to me on Friday. If not then it will be at least another two weeks from then for them to cut me a check and mail it. So I ask the guy you're telling me I have to wait at least another month to get my funds back. It's a constant we're trying. Yeah trying to do what. I ask the guy what are they going to do for all this crap going on. His response was well we'll return the fees we've taken. Sweet since you've been earning interest on my money all this time what a capital thing for you to do. So now I'm just sitting having to wait another week to see if they will give me my money back. How much would you like to bet that come Friday they have to investigate further and it will be longer than the extra month they've quoted. They have fast talkers in the corporate area. All about how they are trying to do so much for you even though it's taking so much time. I am so frustrated by the manipulation and excuses of why I can't have it.

Horrible customer service. Trained to transfer you around. Placed into 30 minute ques on all 10 calls. Negative balances on a debit card with a “stash” feature, that doesn’t make sense. I only remove enough from the stash to cover my purchases. How can there ever be an overdraft? It’s a debit card. Purchase should be denied wouldn’t you think. I believe it’s a scam because before I could easily get a rep. They also have a feature that will disable your entire card if there is a discrepancy in transactions. An actual deterrent to filing disputes. Disgusting organization. Personal information share with low wage third world customer contact centers.

Intuit Tax preparation

Just tried to finish my "free" taxes with TT (as I have adobe the past several years). Got all the way to the end and it tries to charge me $40. When calling CS they send me questions to see if I qualify for free edition. Of course it says I do not. Funny your main website says I do. This is classic bait and switch. There is nothing in my return that would disqualify me for free addition. I am seeing you seem to do this quite often

Intuit Quickbooks payroll service

I tried to put through a payroll today (Feb. 11) and my QB required me to download updates. As I have my system to "automatic update" and this happens regularly, I thought nothing of it. Well that we 45 minutes ago and my system is still not working, despite 30+ minutes on the phone with Intuit's technical support. Joseph told me that the problem happens in an error in Internet Explorer which is the browser they use to transmit data between my system and Intuit's. I have not used Internet Explorer in probably 4 years because it is so buggy — no one I know uses Internet Explorer. I have now lost a big chunk of my available time for today and still cannot put through the payroll. I can't believe that Intuit puts my information and my time at risk with such an inadequate transmission system. There is nothing I did to disturb how my systems work. But because Intuit does not value my time and the well being of my staff enough to create a system that avoids industry-known quagmires, i.e. anything related to Internet Explorer, my operations have now been jeopardized and my employee is at risk to have their medical plan for their family interrupted, not to mention delayed wages. I have never been so angry at a company that I pay $99/month just to make it so that I can process my payroll. This is inexcusable business risk and customer abuse.

Intuit Seller doesn't provide any info or time of the delivery

I purchased from the website www.QuickbooksOnline.us. I ordered software, and my card was charged within several minutes after I placed the order. I waited for the confirmation info and some info about the delivery, but these scammers haven’t sent it. I waited 2 weeks, but I still haven’t received my order. No idea what to do now. Maybe someone has any ideas how to return money back, please contact me then or leave a comment. Thanks.

Intuit Improper fees not refunded

Intuit Payment Network rips off small business. We received an phone order and processed the charge though them for just under 10, 000.00. The next day we found out that the order was fraudulent. We attempted to contacted Intuit and after being put on hold just credited back the bad charge.

We then found they charged us the merchant fees for both the charge and the credit - over $625.00! We contacted them and they refuse to even discuss the fees. Every time you call their customer service it takes over a half hour to get through, that is if their system doesn't cut you off first. Then when you ask to escalate the request they hang up on you.

They refuse to talk to you to discuss any type of refund.

They take money from your account, but will not give you any service or refund improper charges.

They are the most expensive rip off processor out there!

Intuit Refund request

I was a previous subscriber to the Quickbooks Premier Plus online subscription that I used for my small business. I shut down the business in 6/2012 but continued the subscription in order to complete year end income tax information. I paid thru the end of 2013. On October 2013 they arbitrarily deducted $349.00 dollars from my personal checking account for 2014. I did not approve and do not need the service. I have been trying to get my refund since 11/2013 and all I get is a Phillipine Representative who states that there is a systems "glitch" between the USA and the Phillipines?

This is not professional and I cannot get in touch with a supervisor who can process the refund.

Intuit Rip off monthly subscription

Quickbooks subscription is a total scam - they limit you to 5 users (Quickbooks Premier Pro w/payroll) and then charge about $ 200/month forever. They don't bother telling you that all you're paying for is updated payroll tables every six months - what a ripoff! - Tables are available free from Govt of Canada but to integrate them into your software you have to PAY, PAY, PAY. They'll tell you that $ 2400/year also includes the new updated version every year with a few new tweaks, but what they DON'T tell you is that you can keep use your existing software forever with NO monthly fee. Better off to use a third party payroll service for a fraction of the price and kiss their monthly payments goodbye

Intuit Unapproved charges

I continue to be billed for $4.99 every month since 2006 (over 6yrs.) for a purchase I made over 6yrs. ago. I ordered Quicken, a financial software over 6yrs. ago, I paid an additional $4.99 at the time to have a year of download service of the Quicken Software in case I needed to download the software again within a year. I kept seeing the $4.99 on my bank statement, but had no clue what it was, I just kept putting it off since I knew it would take some investigating to track down the root of the charge and I also rarely check my bank statements so I would forget for a year or so. Anyway, today I took the time to track it down and discovered I have paid over $400 for the right to download a software with a retail value of appx. $69 that is not even compatible with Windows 7 or Windows 8, I did continue to use the software up until just over a year ago when Quicken told me it could not longer be used on my computer unless I paid another $69 for the updated version, which was also not 100% compatible.

Intuit Inappropriate credit card charge

In March of 2011 and March of 2012 Intuit charged my credit card for $265.81 for "Payroll" services. I have never signed up for or used their Payroll services. I started calling in March 2012 and am still talking with them in July, 2012. They have never actually disputed my argument but they continue to "process" pr "escalate" this complaint without ever reaching a conclusion. And I am still out $531.62. I have been told that I am now in communication with their Presdient's office but I am still waiting.

Intuit Awful customer service and lack of communication

First off, if you can't understand English from a Hindi accent, don't bother to call:.

I called their Customer Service line to clear up what I thought was a bug in their software/. I have a payee that bills in 5 consecutive months on a 6 month policy;. This means there will be one month without a payment'. I can go to the month I want to skip the payment, click on the day the payee is listed and a dialog box pops up with the option to "Skip" that payment;. When I click on the "Skip" button another dialog box pops up and asks me if I want to skip the following month|. I don't want to skip the following month!. I want to skip the month I have shown in front of me.

After providing a screen shot and going over and over what I wanted, the representative told me I couldn't do it. All along, a woman was yelling in the background in Hindi at the poor guy. I got no-where over the phone.

I mailed a letter to their headquarters explain my problem and the service I was provided. Needless to say, I never got a response. This was two months ago.

If you need customer service use their on-line forum. It's your only hope.

I agree 100%
We can not obtain help from Intuit to complete our website structure for shipping and freight options. We were promised by the Intuit sales person during the sales process that the Intuit site would handle our needs.
We purchased a site design with Intuit sales rep Justin Weeder June 2010. We were clear what we were selling & what was being sold. We showed him a similar site to make sure Intuit could make our site function the same way, including freight. We were assured it was no problem & that Intuit could complete our site.
January 2011 after getting a lot of the products & info loaded onto the Intuit site with great frustration (their c/s employee’s lack of knowledge on their storefronts functionality) we had a conference call with Justin regarding issues with their c/s support and freight options. During the call Justin said “if we had any issues with c/s to contact him”. He said if we produced a freight option code, they would have no problem incorporating the code into the site. After much more trial, error & calls to support we are finally ready to make the site "live". We found freight coding options and emailed & called Justin on May 11 & May 17 - no response. June 3, 2011, we reached Sierra. She told us Justin moved to another department but she works with him - to send her the info, which we did. After 2 emails she responsed to try to code it ourselves but it may crash our site. We asked her for clarification/suggestions, she did not respond. We called c/s several more times. June 11 a rep. said that he wondered if Intuit fit our needs. We asked him to remove freight options with a call, email and chat option. He said we needed to talk to Justin-called & email him July 11 & 12. NO RESPONSE.

Intuit Unfair added fees

I have used quickbooks pro since 1996. As the years go by I get angrier and angrier at their practices. They force me to buy their so called annual payroll updates, the last one was $332! Then they forced me to upgrade the program every 3 years! Now they are saying the $332 payroll update is "standard" and I need an upgrade that will go with the qb 2011! As near as I can tell qb 2011 is identical to qb 2008! Their phone staff all have heavy accents which works in intuit's favor because you cannot understand their justifications and you finally just give up and hang up in frustration. Companies like intuit are what is wrong with america today, we are getting nickel and dimed to death. Someone please write a competitive program please. Class action suit, I am so in!

I completely agree with your experience with intuit. The support they provide is very cheap and their products always force you to upgrade. If you would like a VERY competitive or, in my opinion, much better alternative consider using Xero.

Intuit Beware

Quickbooks are so un-ethical in what they do. They stop services within versions to force you to upgrade, which can cost thousands. They cannot add users on to versions as they will do everything they can to make you upgrade. Stay 100 yards away from this American company. I know they are big and growing but I have talked to a few other people that are in the same boat as us. They say for example that they cannt add any licences but are very happy to offer you the newer version with 20% discount, which can turn to 30% etc. Its a gimmick and highly bad business practise.

Intuit Scam

Intuit offered me a 30 day trial period for their product. However, they weren't sure which product would work for my company & signed me up for several website versions of quickbooks as well as desktop. Needless, to say, after being transferred to India, Pakistan & the Philipenes I learned my file was too large for them to host on line & their service was not going to meet my needs. I was charged in January for a service I had canceled. After calling them, they realized their mistake & reversed the charges. I was then charged 2 weeks later for yet another amount and this time when I called I was told I had to log in online using a password to cancel with them which I don't know because I never set up an account with them. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told no one was available.

Intuit small business Web sites is the worst company ever there support techs are total ###s know nothing about websites. I wonder where they get there help from. Not to mention very rude they have a major glitch in there system I discovered they try to say the mistake was from my end and treated me like I was stupid Joe consumer.Little to there surprise I'm a web designer myself trying to help a friend out with a quick project. Also they charged for the free trial and kept taking money out after we had canceled. Sad part about it was that the person they were stealing from was disabled. So boycott this piece of trash company.

I strongly recommend that you stop using TurboTax. There appears to be some sort of scam or security issue the involves a company called SBTPG. It appears that Intuit tells the IRS to send the money to them and not to you. It also appears that they then keep the money. I just did some research and will be switching to HR Block.

My site originally purchased with intuit is currently offline after upgrading to 1GB of memory. I didn't have too many issues really with intuit until homestead became involved. I have yet to be able to reach homestead at all. 3 days of chats that disappear, and phone calls on hold for 20 minutes with no answer EVER! I have contacted my bank to investigate this further, as I am being charged for a website that is not even online currently? Please let me know if you here anything on these companies that I may need to know! For now I am in the process of canceling this service, and looking into a totally new website. ~Matt Sadecky~ sadeckyland@gmail.com

My friend build my business website and she wanted to use Intuit. I really don't like it, had a hard time putting Google verif code on the site, I still don't see it listed, if you call for help, they really don't won't to give out much infor or help, they charge for everything, I can't get found (local area). I really would like to try Wordpress and see if that would help the site!

I agree with Seth - nothing but great experiences with the company. Of course, this is coming from someone who was absolutely clueless re websites before getting started. I could see how the experience might be different if my knowledge was a bit more advanced. However, I can 100% positively say that I did not experience rudeness with any of my call or exchanges, and there have been many.

Seth B it is strange I had the same problem with canceling intuit web site services and i live in the US and like you i am also a web site devloper helping a freind. I have another good freind he is a Private Investigator for Alan Wilson who is our Attorney General here in South Carolina my freind the P.I. IS VERY GOOD AT DOCUMENTING INTERNET FRAUD. He has compiled a list of hundreds of these complaints and has documented thet intuit is mostly a scam yes they do provide a few with a real web site that my 13 year old grand daughter can build for free in less than a hour . All they seem to do is make promises and a thirty day free trial then make it impossable to cancel all the while they keep charging your card every month fees that are three times what they said even if you kept there service and i do find it ironic that you have only one post and no profile you sure you dont work for intuit.

Hi Jay. It is weird that you had that kind of experience. I have been a user of the Homestead/Intuit website product for just over a year now. When I started I knew nothing about websites at all and thought it was going to be easier than it was.
Because of this I had to call in for support about a dozen times in the first few months and other than a few wait times that exceeded 5+ minutes I always found the support to be unlike anything I had experienced from a large company before.
Let's start with the fact they were based in the US (Ca. I think) and there were no language barriers. One call went about 45 minutes and the rep I spoke with never once made me feel stupid or pressured to end the call.
I'm not doubting you had this experience but from my perspective this was truly an exception and not the rule regarding this company and the support they provide.

Intuit Won't release my domain name

Intuit.com will not let me transfer my domain name without paying for it! They were so nice in the beginning. It turns out they want more money and they are not any different than many of the other web host sites. Intuit.com starts off with their deceivingly friendly customer service to lure you in when you call and have questions about starting an account. Their site assures you of its ease of use. Then when you close the account, the great customer service is also closed. I need an authorization number to transfer my account, which they had access to and were all too happy to give to me, until they saw that I had closed the account. Once they saw the account was closed, they would not give me any information. They said they were unauthorized to give that particular information on a closed account and that I would have to contact the hostmaster via email (EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!) The hostmaster would respond in 24-48 hours they assured me. HA! What a laugh! It has been over a week and I have sent 3 emails to the hostmaster and have heard nothing. I called customer service again...still wouldn't help, but said they would contact the hostmaster for me or I could PAY $25.95 to reopen the account and then they could give me the authorization number that I need right then and there. I couldn't believe it. It IS all about the money with Intuit. There customer service is a put on. So here is what I learned...transfer your domain before you close your account. In my case, I had to close it. There templates were not near as easy to alter like they said and I didn't have the time to figure it out at the time and I didn't want to be charged monthly for something that I was not using. I decided to do more research before going to another site, which is why I was unable to transfer it before closing the account. It is ridiculous that we pay for a domain yearly and we have no access to it except through a web host site that can control what we can do with it. For those of you who read this: Take heed and BEWARE of getting STUCK with a crappy site. Make sure you have done your homework before signing on with anyone. Google reviews and complaints about the site first. You'll be happier in the end if you know what your up against. As for me, I guess I am going to have to find another domain name to use. It's not that I can't pay $25.95, but I shouldn't have to. I also don't want to give any money to Intuit.com because that is the whole reason they are now giving me the run around so that it is easier to pay and get what I need and in the end, the get more money.

Intuit Services dropped

After using Quickbooks for 2 years, we received notice that they no longer support sending reports and bills via email! What a rip-off. They say they have dropped this service so that they can provide better service (makes sense?) It only makes sense to them because they us to upgrade only to make more money!

I completely agree with your experience with intuit. The support they provide is very cheap and their products always force you to upgrade. If you would like a VERY competitive or, in my opinion, much better alternative consider using Xero.

Visit my website at www.lucidbooks.us if you are interested or give me a call and I'll let you know what options you have available.

So in order for them to help me I could pay them $75.00 now and $35.00 a month after that, or pay them $399.00 a year...Or upgrade for $299.00 what a load of crap. I just want to email my invoices and estimates to my customers again. All quikc books ever want is MORE MONEY $$$$$$

Intuit Unauthorized support charges

Bought Quickbooks 2009 for mac... had an issue with printing checks. Called and was told they could not help me unless I had the support package, this is two days after I purchased the product. Today two months later I go through my statements and find two support subscription charges from intuit.

Call the and they immediately say sorry and tell me they will refund the charges... it will however, take 6-8 days for me to see the credit.

Having the same problem with them, just got the software and now having problems with the program and they deny support unless I pay for it. It seems they get worse evey year, no problems if you are odering somthing from them, but it is almost impossible to get support if you are having problems.
