Intoxalock Intoxalock

Since the first day of the intoxalock installation our truck has not worked! For a week and a half. Intoxalock is No help! No customer service. Now we have to pay to Tow it back to their shop to remove it after 250 install and not able to go to work or get food for almost 2 weeks.! So we are Towing it tomorrow and taking it OUT! I hope they don't try to extort More Money again! This is the Worst company We've Ever Seen.! I cannot believe they are Still in business!

Desired outcome: Take it out refund money, no further charges on the credit card.

Intoxalock Interlock Device / Customer Service the whole thing

I have been told false information that brings about terrible effects numerous times by the people who work for this company.

I was told that due to the fact I have a public defender I would receive money back for the installation.

I have not received that money back, nor any communication and the person who contacted me numerous times when I didn't want them to with "intoxalock" business now is bon voyage and mia. She told me if I had *any* questions, please be in touch. Okay, Judy, where are ya?!

She told me if I'm not going to drive it every day make sure i hook it up to a battery charger. Okay, done. Guess what? battery died. Now I have a violation which of course intoxalock thinks they are entitled to charge ME for despite the fact that I followed all of THEIR advice on how to operate their deviced. This is a racket, disruptive to my life.

NEXT: the device screams at you like an entitled toddler when you don't give it your mouth fast enough. This is actually legitimately dangerous: driving in freeway traffic with a device beeping emergency alarm at you that needs to be responded to now is anxiety and panic attack provoking and recipe for an accident. This is not a good thing to activate when you are in rush hour traffic. I've swerved several times trying to get a hold of the damn thing when it is screaming at me. NOT adding to my quality of life and again very dangerous. You could have a much more calm voice that states simply and matter of factly that it is time for you to retest instead of having military / industrial grade ALARMS sending you into panic mode simply because you need to retest.

Employees have been slightly idiotic. Unable to answer basic questions because - my educated guess - they are being paid to try to fill you with fluff since the company knows it is a racket. Spent way too much time on the phone only to be told that there was no solution and have the representative tell me six different things and that oh, actually the one i decided was not actually available.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for installation fee as promised, coverage of one months maintenance due to distress and failure of representatives to provide accurate information, reimbursement for lockout fee.

Intoxalock Representation of maintenance to the state

To whom it may concern I am now with your unit in my vehicle but yet can't drive because of a reinstatement of revoked due to lack of info to the state from your connection and or communication that my vehicle was in maintenance from 5-10-22 thru 5-13-22 and a power loss to the unit because of starter replacement on 5-12-22 this is been most inconvenient and am presenting my case to a lawyer and going to come after your company for removal and reimbursement for all cost what am I supposed to do I'm still paying on your unit in my vehicle and yet can't drive nobody seems to want to assist in getting this figured out I will soon see you in court please contact me at [protected] or case will move forward to legal action

Intoxalock Intoxalock

This company has been a problem since day one. The device constantly acts up depending on hot or cold weather. Anywhere from not accepting samples to giving false BAC readings ( I don't eat drink smoke or use hand sanitizer or anything that would set it off) costing me thousands and more time than it should have. Customer service is garbage and you can hardly understand the people there. I am now 3 weeks past my eligibility date which has already been extended once dur to false readings and I cannot get them to review my compliance report. 3 weeks ago they said it was sent to the DOL only to find out the DOL never received it. Now I am waiting 3 days for them to review it on top of another 7-10 days for the DOL to review their side. This place needs shut down. If my device isn't removed soon I'm going to rip it out of my car and throw it through their window. Absolutely the most pathetic garbage company I have ever dealt with. Find another company or just walk for the rest of your life. These people are idiots.

Desired outcome: I want my device removed like it should have been 3 months ago you theives. You people need shut down.

Intoxalock Complaint

I've been through two cars with the intoxalock. Both situations, my battery has died multiple times. I was charged outages fees for lockouts that I could not prevent due to my battery dying, from having the intoxalock. I'm free of any obligations to them but, my car still sits dead in the lot while, chargers keep piling up. I was not able to drive do to inspection being out of date in the month of March. I would have had to stay my car everyday and drive it a good distance in order to maintain the battery being drained by the intoxalock.

Desired outcome: Removal of intoxalock. The tow fee. I will only pay for the month of May. 109.90.

Intoxalock Intoxalock device

I had have a intoxalock device .ordered from SC to ky where got this second DUI over medication . intoxalock set up it all have installed.never one time mentioned I had have a license have in my car .or want see a license .had it a whole year didn't benefit from it wasn't getting my credits .paid them a whole year caused mental anguish an my time .now have start right back over with intoxalock an give them more money.an upon that my car went into a complete lockout an broke down at a gas station an wouldn't start any more had have it towed two or three different times till I finally got it towed to the service center they found out days later it was my starter needed replacement that was three hundred along with towing fees an about three thousand for there serive a whole year which I didn't get any credits from .

Desired outcome: No out come . Intoxalock playing dumb like it's not there fault .having start all over an pay them double the money

Intoxalock are scammers will dry you up with your money try take whatever they can get from you act like nothing there fault .will not give your money back when they knew wasn't getting any credits for there device being in your car . installed it when knew it wasn't supposed been installed till have a license .couldn't get it took out after the facts .will say you got talk to the monitoring authority .the monitoring authority said intoxalock wasn't supposed had the device put in my car till had a license

Intoxalock Lockout

On July 7th my vehicle needed emergency repairs. The mechanic told me that he knew how to use the breathalyzer. He fixed my vehicle and when I went to pick the car up, he told me that he couldn't get the Intoxalock to work and it kept saying that his breath was "too soft". The mechanic noted all of this on my receipt. I have attached the receipt for confirmation.

Well, then I get a "Lockout" notification when I get in my car. I chatted with Felicia Anderson at Intoxalock the following day, and she removed the "Lockout" notification on the unit. She stated that I had to call [protected] and have them waive the fee.

When contacting this number, after calling numerous times because there is no one at the number to assist you, I was told that they would not "waive" the fee! They stated that it was a missed retest, and I explained the situation, but she still stated that they wouldn't waive the fee. This is a gross abuse of authority as they have my credit card number and just charge whatever they want and is totally unfair. I wasn't even near the vehicle and didn't cause this lockout.

Desired outcome: I would like the lockout fee waived.

Intoxalock Scammers!!!!! Liars and thieves

I called around for over a month before deciding on this company. Everyone was SO nice until it was installed. You CANT reach a soul afterwards and I specifically asked over 8 times if $114 was absolute total cost. Just went for my first calibration and GUESS WHAT!?!?!? $30 xtra every month they told me when I go to get my calibration done. I wrote a review on another site and as I see above on other reviews I was responded to the same. I have been calling those numbers and leaving messages and NADA! NO RESPONSE ! DONT GET INTOXALOCK. SAVE YOURSELF. I also sent in a rebate form to give me $100 off my service fee and ONCE AGAIN! NADA! Lol. They are a rip off

Desired outcome: Give me my $100 rebate that I took a photo of before I sent in and explain yourself. I will look into lawyers considering I have been advised EVERY CALL WAS RECORDED.

Intoxalock Incorrect order

06/28/2022, did not inform me that If you have asthma you would need to get court approval before lowering and the company was eager to install the device and charge me. I don’t need the device right now and they can’t temporarily disconnect until my state has me on my program. It’s been a nightmare, I would chose another company.

Intoxalock Interlock Device

After reading SO many bad reviews, I immediately called to cancel my service and the appointment I had scheduled to have an Intoxalock device installed. The agent cancelled my appointment then told me I'd receive a call the next day regarding a refund. I had already paid $54 which I was told would go towards my first monthly payment after installation was complete. This apparently was false information because I later saw on my account that it was used as credit for other fees they were charging me that I was not informed of and did not agree to. So I would’ve ended up owing the first month’s payment which contradicts what I was told and what’s advertised. I asked if the cost to have the equipment returned could be deducted from that $54 and the remaining amount could be refunded. She told me yes. I never heard from anyone and had to call again myself. I received an email that I was charged a $50 no show fee for the cancelled appointment that was scheduled on a day that hadn’t even happened yet. The appointment was on a Friday (7/8/2022) and I was charged the Wednesday prior (7/6/2022) after cancelling on Tuesday (7/5/2022). I specifically asked about rescheduling/cancellation fees and was told that no fees would apply unless I cancelled or rescheduled the day of the appointment. The company number brings you to representatives who can't even help you and just tell you they'll transfer you to their customer service department. I spent about an hour on hold and being transferred between departments before speaking with someone who had some answers. They told me that they charge the No Show fee if you cancel an appointment entirely instead of rescheduling. She tells me, "I can email you the lease contract with this policy stated in it if you'd like". I didn't sign any contract or lease so that's irrelevant and does not apply. Again, I did not agree to that and was never told this information. She kept reiterating that they have to pay for installation services and that’s the reason for the $50 cancellation fee. What services am I paying for? Nothing was done other than the equipment being shipped which I agreed to pay for so it can be returned.

Desired outcome: I will pay for the equipment to be returned, however I would like a refund from the remaining $54 since no other services were rendered and there will be no monthly payment for that $54 to go towards.

Update: I just received a call today Friday 7/8, the day my appointment was scheduled that I cancelled, from the facility that was supposed to install the device, telling me I missed my appointment. So on top of everything else mentioned above, IntoxaLock did not even cancel my appointment despite my request to do so and their confirmation that they did cancel it. I wish I was surprised.

Intoxalock Intoxalock

This place is a complete rip off. They charge a fee of $50 in Tennessee every time it has a lock out. And it locks out over every little thing. First it charged me for not signing the lease agreement in time. Then it charged me for a false positive. Then it charged me for starting my car 2 seconds after the allowed time. I has charged me numerous times for system not syncing which has nothing to do with anything I've done. My bill is $279.00 for the past 2weeks and I'm not paying it. I'm not working myself to death just so I can hand it over to them just so I can drive to work. I'll get a ride before I give them another dollar.

Desired outcome: I want all the additional fees charged to me refunded. I pay my biweekly fees. That should cover my lockouts

This is the same experience I’ve been having with Intoxalock. They are not suppose to charge you for a false positive yet they do, even after it’s evident that it was a misread.

Intoxalock Unjust lockout fees

I have had " violation 11" lockout messages on three occasions, due to the restart timer timing out to a few seconds. When I have started my car within the 2 minute period restart message, I have always had 6 to 8 seconds to restart. Whenever this has happened I have always contacted Intoxalock, only to be told that I had made an attempt to start my car after the time had elapsed, often their information shows an "attempted" start while in reality my car started right up. Every time I have spoken to an agent, they have stated that their information shows an attempt to start my car, rather than the fact that my car started. No matter what the facts are, they insisted that it was an "attempt" to start my car. Their information falsely stated that my car didn't start. My last conversation with an agent lead me to believe she was accusing me of lying and that the lockout fee would still apply. I asked several times to speak to her supervisor and was refused.

Desired outcome: I wish to have unjust and unwarranted lockout fees to be reimbursed, due to the fact that I have done nothing to incur these fees. I also request a response.

They are liars and scammers! The equipment is so hard to use that using it while driving is worse then drunk driving. When you have to blow randomly as your driving and it keeps saying blow harder. You have to continually look at the screen to try to turn off so you can RE blow all while your driving and trying to keep hands on wheel and watch where your going. And cell phones are illegal? This is much more dangerous. I can’t even get through to them.

I am dealing with the same thing right now - I’m actually at my service center because of now 7 illegitimate violation 11 lockouts. I was just reimbursed for 4 out of the 7 because all of a sudden 3 of them “mysteriously” disappeared from my account activity but the $226.85 payment I just made remained on my account. The woman I spoke to said “people forward pay all the time”. This company is such a scam. I would advise you to keep calling and even if you didn’t, do what I did and tell them you have videos proving that you have done the entire process correctly. (I would actually start recording before you even press the button to blow the sample when starting your car from now on just in case). They only reimbursed me what they did because I told them that I had proof and that I had also scheduled a hearing with the rmv yesterday - who told me that THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ANY LOCKOUTS. This company has been taking my money, and likely yours, without even reporting the lockouts to the rmv so they can pocket the money and not draw attention to themselves from the rmv. Hope this helps.

Intoxalock Customer service

This is the absolute worst company I have ever encountered. If I could have given them negative starts? I would have. I advised them the ONLY reason I chose Intoxalock was because they promised it could be reported to AZ. It has yet to be done. They make promises they can't keep and CONSTANTLY claim to "reach out" or "email" someone. I can't change my ID because the dmv is claiming I haven't gotten my interlock. I have called FOUR times only to be told MY DEVICE ISNT REGULATED FOR AZ. So they sold and installed something that DOESNT EVEN COUNT. AND It gets better. I've now had it for 3 weeks and IF AND WHEN it gets removed and put back on those 3 weeks WONT COUNT. Whatever you do DO NOT pick this company for your interlock. They will take your money and screw you over.

Intoxalock ignition interlock license

Stan from Intoxalock told me that I was eligible, but I was never eligible so now I'm out $2,000 between what I paid Intoxalock, PennDOT and the shop. Now when I asked for a refund they tell me to go pound sand.

I never was eligible for an ignition interlock license and nothing Stan saw on PennDOT's website said I was eligible, so it was just a bold faced lie in order to scam money out of me.

Desired outcome: I would like $2,100 as that's how much I paid to intoxalock, gas, PennDOT and Rippin Rides.

Intoxalock Intoxalock BAC monitor

Repeated incorrect charges. Refusal to refund the money.

I have called them repeatedly about malfunctions with the device. I had been promised refunds only to be charged full price. When I called to inquire why they claimed they never made a note on the account. I started recording our conversations and turning it into my lawyer and the court. The proof I had that they were telling me one thing and then charging me another and is why the court ended up dropping my requirement to have it in my car. I was promised a rebate I never got. I was promised the cancellation fees would be waved and they didn't. This company take advantage of people and is being reported to my credit card company with proof of incorrect charges.

Intoxalock Unauthorized charges

This company has been a complete rip-off from day one! Absolute worst customer service. When you call and talk to a representative you can't get a name or direct line to talk to anybody yet it says it wants to know what extension number you want to talk to when you call. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen in my life! We never asked for roadside assistance we already have that through our insurance company and you're trying to charge us $4 a month when our account is already closed. We shouldn't have to send an email to cancel this service because we never asked for the damn service! When we get back in town you'll be hearing from our attorney we're done playing these ridiculous games! Very dissatisfied customer and I will let every person I know know how bad your service is!

Similar experience here. They kept pushing for me to buy their insurance and other coverage options like that but I made it clear I did not want it. Immediately asked them to deactivate my account and remove my payment information but I don’t trust that it was done. Won’t be surprised if I start getting charged for random things by them.

Intoxalock Interlock device

I had their device installed in my truck in January of this year. Upon installing the device by a certified mechanic, he informed me that this device was known for killing car batteries and that I had to turn on my vehicle every other day (if not daily use). My wife and I went out of town and upon returning I tried to start my truck to find that my battery was completely dead. I tried to jumpstart my car but due to the battery being completely dead, this did not work. I contacted intoxalock to let them know and get information on roadside assistance as they advertised when I initially signed up with them. They informed me that the only service that roadside assistance does not provide is changing batteries… very odd that they would cover all other roadside assistance needs other than replacing batteries especially since the device is constantly killing the battery. They also informed me that due to the battery being dead and the device being down, I had a violation reporting. They refused to remove the violation and cover the cost for the replacement battery. I do not have the money to continually change my battery every few months and tack on more time I have to keep this thing in my car due to the “violations” of the device being down caused by the device.

Desired outcome: Refund me for current battery that needs to be replaced and if needed, any future battery that needs to be replaced due to their system draining the battery and remove the violation

Intoxalock Rolling retest

I went to the grocery store, turned off vehicle took my key out of the ignition. Picked up the Intoxalock device, looked at it didn't see a readout indicating I needed to retest, put the device down, got out of my vehicle, locked the door, went into the grocery store, when I got back to my vehicle there was a lockout indication. Called intoxalock explained the situation, the customer service rep didn't even really listen to me, she could have not been any more worthless and unhelpful. I immediately called my attorney and switched to smart start. Dont bother with intoxalock they are no good.

Yesterday on 8/21/2022 the identical thing happened to me. While we were not even in the car the lockout unit required a retest and that lead to an unappropriate violation even when a pass blow test was provided only minutes later. So obviously you weren't the only or the last to experience this Intoxalock Problem. The only thing that seems to be assured is Intoxalock's lack of desire to fix anything.

Intoxalock Agent Lied about scheduling my appointment

I made an appointment weeks ago with Nate. It was to get my device removed. Not only did it take days beyond the date I could get it removed, when confirming with my service center they claim there was no appointment made. This is infuriating as I took a day off work to get this service done. Absolutely worst company. Never ever work with this company, it’s only been trouble from the start. My issues still aren’t resolved and it’s impossible to get ahold of anyone!

Desired outcome: Make my appointment??!??!? And REFUND ME!

Intoxalock Constant lockouts for no reason

Putting me in constant lockouts for no reason. Everything is checked. Brand new battery. I'm in a lockout like every month for no reason. Battery is brand new everything is checked constantly. When I call they tell me it's not enough power to the device. This isn't fair and something needs to be done about it. Every time I call the representative was rude to me. Doesn't want to hear what I have to say.

Desired outcome: Refund. Wave fee
