HSBC Holdings bank account not credited by cash payment

I have paid in £300 cash into my account on the 3rd of october 2007 I then recieved a statement of my account stating that I am £300 in debit.

I took this up with the hsbc and they said they had recieved no payment and that they was nothing they could do.

I explained I would get proof from my wage slip and payment into my own halifax account which would be missing £200 which would hopefully prove the fact that I had paid the money in in the first place (in regards to the £200 I already had cash in my purse to make up the difference to £300)

I would like transactions for the date of 3rd october 2007 checking as I feel sure my £300 has been posted to someone elses account.

Thank you

HSBC Holdings &credit card& that's not a credit card

I bought some stuff at casualmalexl. great store. they offered me a discount by entering the purchase on a "casual male xl credit card." I took it and within a week got a credit card in the mail that says casual male xl on the front. on the back it says clearly "www.casualmalxl.com." on the paper it was attached to it says to call [protected] to activate the account or for customer assistance. that phone answers as "casual male xl" and directs me to the same “www.casualmalexl.com” website. I go there and set up an account, entering all my personal information, takes several minutes. but when I check to see my statement of account, there's nothing there! the only reference to credit cards is "add credit card," which is for visa, mastercard, etc. - in other words, set up a completely new form of payment with them.

I call casual male and am told that the credit card I got has "nothing to do with casual male. it's completely separate. that's hsbc. their accounts are completely separate from casual male."

Note, they’re talking about the credit card that has casual male all over it and their website, and no reference to hsbc. no hsbc logo at the bottom right, nothing. well, on very careful inspection, at the top left on the back side there’s tiny white print that says “hrs1012 (09/05).”

I call the original 800 number again and wade through the menu, entering my card number and the last four of my ssn, and finally I get to speak to a human being. i’m told that to see my statement, I have to go to hsbc’s web page, www.hrsaccount.com, not casual male. so I go there and, again, put in the account number from the card and my zip code, and then i’m told that I have to set up an account. they already have an account for me, I entered the account number - but I have to set up an account! so I enter all my personal information, name address age sexual preference birthmarks ssn etc etc and when I click submit i’m told that my login already exists. this is a very unusual login that I use for all my accounts, so I call up hsbc again on the phone.

I wade through the menu again and finally get to speak to a human, who asks me if I have another hsbc account. I remember that I had one for best buy, one of the most horrid credit experiences i’ve ever had. he says that account is blocking me from entering my username login and that I have to create an entirely new account. I ask him why the old account hasn’t been deleted, as I paid if off years ago and said “close it.” he won’t answer that. he just keeps telling me that I have to reenter a new account. I keep telling him to answer my question, and he won’t. he infers that I don’t understand him.

I hang up and check my old records for the old login to my old best buy account and try that out. it no longer works. I remember that one of the problems with that account was that I had to keep changing the user name and password because they would never work.

I call hsbc again and go through the routine with another person, getting more and more upset, and she puts me on hold to talk to a supervisor. I wait over 20 minutes and when someone picks up, it’s not a supervisor. I tell him how i’ve been waiting and he puts me on hold and I only have to wait another 5 minutes to talk to a supervisor. she tries to explain things to me like i’m an idiot. she says it’s impossible for them to do business any other way. how could I possibly direct my payment to the right store, if they didn’t ave completely separate accounts for each store? I ask her how other credit card companies do it. can you imagine having to have a completely different account for every different store where you used your credit card?

She explains to me, like i’m a four-year old, that this “is not a credit card - it’s a merchant account retail card.”

I tell her they should be out of business if this is what they call customer service. it would take about an hour to set up a system where I could log in to hsbc with one login and then choose what store I wanted to pay off, if that’s what they need. I tell her I am going to pay off the balance, and I want all trace of me erased from hsbc’s records forever, all accounts closed.

She says she can close my casual male account. I ask, don’t I also have an inactive account? I want that closed too. she says “we have you on file, ” but I can close the active account.” I say, “what about the inactive account? I want that closed too. and all the merchant and affiliate and non-merchant privacy agreement stuff, all that cancelled. I want nothing more to do with hsbc.” she says the inactive account will be closed too. aha, I say, you do know about the inactive account.” “i’m sorry if you misunderstood me, ” she says. “I didn’t misunderstand you, ” I say. “you’re just not talking straight to me. you knew I had an inactive account, but when I asked you if I had one, instead of saying ‘yes, ’ we’ll close that for you too, ’ you said, ‘we have you on file’ and started talking about the active file again what is wrong with you people? why can’t you talk straight?”

She wants my address so she can send me a notification of closure. I give it to her and she says she’ll get me back to someone who will take my payment. she puts me on hold and after about 5 minutes I get someone. she takes my info and I make sure to tell her again that I want to opt out of all the privacy agreement stuff, and briefly I tell her that i’ve been with hsbc for about an hour already and just want to pay it off and then have nothing more to do with the company, and she’s all customer-service nice, sorry you’ve have a bad experience, thank you for your feedback, and finally she asks for my payment info and I give her my master card number.

“sorry, ” she says. “we only take checks.”

So I dig out my checkbook and give her the routing number and account number and a check number. and then she says “there will be a $15 charge added to your bill for taking payment over the phone.”

I explode. “no way!” etc. she puts me on hold and checks with her supervisor and returns to tell me that she can’t take the $15 charge off, but she has approval to recredit it after the payment comes in.in about two days. I get her name (brandi) and rep number (b7t.)

I’m waiting for a statement of account. if the past is any prologue, the charge will still be there, along with a lot of other crap.

The next time anyone asks you to enroll in a "credid card," ask them if it’s hsbc. it so, say no thank you. it’s not worth it. hsbc sucks, bigtime. nothing but profit leeches. they should go out of business, the sooner the better.

HSBC Holdings misguidance to obtain card!

I received a 2.99 % balance transfer offer in the mail and when I called to obtain the card they concentrated only in asking all the questions, social security, date of birth, address ets, etc, and I kept asking how much the monthly payment will be for the amount of the transfer, they kept avoiding the question over and over, and at the end, they refuse to give me the approx. monthly amount, the only way to obtain that information was to make the actual transfer on the phone at that specific moment. how can you give somebody you have never done business with, several thousands dollar of your money when they refuse to tell you how much your payment will be?! it is not only unprofessional but I think it should be illegal. who are these people? how can they be doing business out there!

HSBC Holdings beware of them

Financed 04 gto through ebay financing (hsbc) back in november of 2007. have had many a conversation with supervisors, and still have yet to receive a registration and or a check in order to register my vehicle. it is amazing how many times they call looking for their money, but when I ask what about my registration or a copy of the title, I get nothing but a run around

Have since stopped all payments to them. and in law of their "scheduling to repossess" the car have moved it to a secure location. help! wtf is this company's problem, and why does ebay even associate with them.

HSBC Holdings do not take equity line of credit with hsbc

HSBC shut down my equity line of credit for no reason. They said it's because of deterioration credit but I provided them with credit scores from all major credit agencies but they are not interested to hear about it. You cannot talk to anyone who has authority to either advise you what basis was used for their decision nor to discuss evidence you are sending them to prove that their decision was wrong.

HSBC's customer support team us absolutely useless. 50+ calls yield different answers. You can not get past the supervisor, who will try to convince you into blatant lies and who is not shy about shouting at you and telling you that he is the only person in HSBC Mortgage you can talk to.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take equity line of credit this HSBC as you fill pay to set it up but will not be able to draw money from it.

HSBC Holdings repossession after 2 delinquent months

After having my last four cars financed through HSBC over the period of about 13 years, HSBC repossessed my car for not paying my note after 2 months. I decided I couldn't afford the notes so it was a blessing. In any case, I have been paying the collection agency the balance, on time for 8 months and just got a call from them offering a settlement of 35% of the balance to close the account because HSBC is taking the account back from them tomorrow. SERIOUSLY?! What are you doing to us? I have already vowed never to do business with such a company but now to only give 24 hours notice to the collections agency and representatives unable to answer questions is pretty ridiculous!

My father had financed his 07 GMC pickup truck with HSBC that was given to me (his daughter) as a gift. After his passing in September 2009, his wife told me she was returning the truck back to the company but instead gave it to her daughter who had been at least 4 months behind on payments still has the truck and it is still listed under my fathers name. How can your company allow people to keep a vehicle who's owner is deceased? Whether or not the truck has been paid, this shouldn't have been put off as long as it has. Your company should have taken the vehicle back until they were able to refinance it themselves, instead they are still using my fathers credit to keep the truck. This horrorifies me as well as my family.

I have a good idea.. Pay your bill... or take out dissability insurance.. Most people never plan for emergancys and then complain if something comes up.. most people know if the have an upcomming surgery.. so dont use that has a reason for being late. you even said that you had a job interview.. how do you expect to pay a 602 pmt with no job ? get real.. I dont work for hsbc but have worked for car finance co's in the past.. if you show a history of being late and then go 60+ days past due with only making one phone call.. then grow up.. face the fact, you couldnt afford the auto and are passing the buck on to the bank.. the reason people pay high rates on their autos is because of people like you.. You accually think the bank wants your auto back ? they almost always loose money on them .. Try crying to your momma

I had paid religiously my $602 per month car payment. Due to an operation, I was late for 2 months. When I got up this afternoon to drive to the Store, the car was repossessed. I was never called or notified. When I call HSBC I was referrred to a IRENE GOMEZ EXT. 5503. I was very upset as I have a job interview on Friday in San Jose. Instead, I was told my voice mail that Irene had a 24 hour delay and those who called would be served on a FCFS basis. It was 3:30pm. I called again and then was told that Irene was in her office, but that she would go home at 4pm. I stated that I was very upset and I needed what I had to do. IRENE GOMEZ NEVER BOTHERED TO EVEN CALL.
This is just another example of another European Bank being allowed in the USA and we citizens being treated like ###!

HSBC Holdings hsbc-honestly speaking blind cheating!

I had received a hsbc cridit card on 14/03/2008 along with an add on card in my aged mothers name from hsbc chennai. this add on card was given as a present to her & she had a horrible experience when she went out for lunch & shopping with her friends. the card was not an approved one, hope you can imagine what would have happened thereafter. on 23rd I took my nephew to ramkay agency adyar to present him with a two wheeler, on swiping I came to know that my card was cancelled by hsbc. brushing aside all the pathetic situation & insult, I called the customer care to know the reason, the executive and the incharge was not in a position to tell me the reason for cancellation of the card. pat came the answer that the manager would would call me back on my mobile and give me the reasons. till now & till date the honourable manager has not contacted me. the trauma which I went through because of hsbc is unbearable. I applied for the card just because the executives called 10 times a day begging me to apply on card to card basis. and when I do and get the card, hsbc cancels it without even informing me after providing the card. hsbc has my cell number and they could have had the courtesy to inform about the card block. my question is why did hsbc issue the card when you were going to cancel it even before any transcation took place.

I totally agree with all this.
Something similar has happened with me also.
I applied for HSBC credit card, didnt get it for 3 months and after that they sent me a bill for no reasons.
This is simply disgusting banking service they are providing in the name of MNCs.
First they are giving endless pesky calls to get a free credit card in the name of some phoney discounts/offers and after that following such sleazy practices.

After all the stupid thigs that went around me by HSBC and Tata AIG . They are again back with a bang . I just called up Hsbc to check the balance and i have found that TATA AIG has taken away Rs 1420 for a policy .I had no information from TATA AIG as well as HSBC in this regrad. No, Calls were made to confirm the policy . No policy documents . Also, the HSBc has no idea where the money went.

After having taked such a long time i could expect the commitment from HSBC stating to call up TATA AIG and putting all the blame on TATA AIG. They just gave me a compliant no . and they will expect a answer only after 4 days .

THIS IS A SERIOUS OFFENCE FROM TATA AIG AS WELL AS HSBC For FLOATING MY CREDIT CARD TO A 3RD PARTY AND TATA AIG NOT INFOMING ME ABOUT THE POLICY AND TAKING MONEY FROM MY CREDIT CARD WITH NO ONE'S CONCERN.

The story goes back and i call up AIG they open up AND CHECK AND CONGRATULATE ME FOR HAVING A NEW POLICY WHICH I HAVE NEVER KNOWN. AND THE POLICY NUMBER IS HCP01000016403 AND THE CUSTOMER CARE WAS TELLING THAT HE WAS FROM A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT AND HE WOULD NOT HELP . bUT HE GAVE A TWO NUMBERS WHICH I WOULD NOT EVEN KNOW :. aND I HOPE MY PHONE MENORY IS GOING FULL FOR HAVING THEM ON THE MEMORY .

There is no serious action taken as well as nothing to bother HSBC as they are only worried in getting money back from the CUSTOMER.
AND ON TOP OF THEY THEY DONT HAVE ANY CURTOSIY IN CALLING BACK THE CUSTOMER AND SPEAKING RUDLY AS IT IS ENTIRELY THEIR MISTAKE .

I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS FINANCIAL TIE UP BETWEEN BOTH THE COMPANY TO CHEAT PEOPLE AND FRUSTATE THEM FOR HAING THEIR CREDIT CARD. MY PHONE BILL HAS ALREADY CROSSED RS 1000 AND I ADVICE HSBC TO HAVE A TIE UP WITH CELL PHONE COMPANY SO THAT THEY CAN PLAY THEIR CHEAP TRICS MORE .

FOR MORE I have RECORDED ALL THE CONVESATIONS WITH THE CUSTOMER CARE NAD THIS IS A legal NOTICE THAT I AM NOT AFRAID TO TAKE THE ISSUE LEAGALLY . I AM ALREADY IN THE PROCESS OF THAT ONLY .

HSBC Holdings lousy treatment for small businesses

This is a fair warning to all small business owners who are dealing with the HSBC Bank here in the UK or - as I suspect - worldwide.

I have recently restructured my business (dealing with the rather unstable collectables market), moving from partnership to sole trader. I've banked with the HSBC since 1991 and had my business account - which is in EXCELLENT order - since 2000.

They informed me that I would have to open a NEW account for the new sole trader company and then point blank refused to do it. Why? Well - apparently I am the very spawn of Satan ... or so it would appear... I have 2 current accounts with this bank, both having small overdrafts - one for £800 (for personal bills ) and the other for £200 general expenses. Any small business owner IN THE WORLD knows that personal finances often suffer for the smooth running of a business - especially in lean times - and for the past 18 months (during which I have been extremely ill by the way) I have exceeded my overdraft limits on several occasions.

HOWEVER - each time this has occurred I have replaced fees - often within the same 24 hour period...often with great difficulty and not a little ingenuity on my part, and the HSBC (naturally) have profitted from each indiscretion by charging me their usual over-inflated fees. (Poor HSBC - how they suffer...*ahem*)

The ridiculously ineffectual manager of my local branch informed me that I had been 'naughty' and that I was a bad credit risk! - Again I point out that all excess borrowings were paid back quickly and my business account was immaculate. She refused me a new business account and told me that in order for her to reconsider I would have to...

...brace yourselves...

GET A JOB !

Yes - the HSBC's solution to my continued healthy business trading was... a job. When I pressed the point that I already work all the hours the gods send she told me that yes, but that was only to make money...

?

yeeeeeeeeessss... Then - that if I had a job I would have a healthy income so wouldn't have to work so hard in my business ...

?

eerrr...

THIS is a MANAGER? Granted she blatantly has the brainpower, personality and effectiveness of wet bread but DEAR GODS!

She went on to refer to small business owners as simply wasting time on what was, after all, an expansion of a hobby...? Sorry - but this is 8 years of my LIFE we're talking about here...? How patronising can these people be?

Further to this, when consulting my accountant I overheard the area business manager of the HSBC referring to my immaculately-trading-within-limits account as a joke !

So - in short - The HSBC consider small businesses to be a joke and small business owners to be wasting good wage-earning time on a mere hobby. Be warned!

Thank the powers that be that there are other banks with actual human managers WITH BRAINS, not some puppet of a corporate abuser like the HSBC.

I am currently collating as much evidence as possible on the dealings of the HSBC and their lack of assistance regarding financial development and dealing with problems. Please feel free to contact me if you have anything you wish to add to my ever growing file as I will pursue this further.

Thank you for reading - Louise :)xxx

HSBC Holdings customer service/ finance dept

after paying off my account i received a bill for paying after the due date of the 19th. it was not posted until the 26th. I think they did that on purpose to receive extra money. the customer service department is not very workable. i have sent two letters voicing my complaints, have called at least 4 times and no one can help, all they can say is write a letter, if you get an english speaking rep and you can understand them. the unit manager can not speak english but that is another ploy from them to frustrate you and then i guess you just throw up your hands and pay it. i don't think so. now of course i am getting the usual harrassing phone calls from them and interest is still incurring.

I sent a full payment to pay off my account on November 25, 2009 and was subsequently charged nearly $400 for a promotional rate change effective December 1. I believe they delayed posting my payment so they could charge me this amount.

I see a lot of people making COMPLAINTS. In Oregon; a small claims case can go as high as $10, 000.00 and you do it yourself on simple forms provided. I have filed against Best Buy. I am filing Briefs & Exhibits. I hope to get some results. Winfield.

I recently had an account with HSBS Furniture Row. It was for 2 years no interest no payment. I planned on having it paid off before the promotional period expired or go to my local credit union and borrow the money. At the time the promotional period came due I was having to deal with both parents being ill. I actually missed a payment and got the interest added to the loan over $2000 worth! I also got a call from a customer service person demanding that I make a payment over the phone immediately. I tried to explain to the person what was going on, and that I had been living in a motel room and did not have the money right at the moment to make a payment. The harassing over the phone continued and I finally told them I was not going to pay right at that second and would submit my payment at the end of the week. and hung up on the very insensitive person.
When I got my income tax return I called for the pay off and tried to get some of the interest and DEBT CANCELATION FEES taken off. They would not budge one bit. So I requested a payoff amount it was on the 30th of the month. I got online and made my payment then canceled my account as soon as I saw the money go out of my checking account. The next month I got a bill for $298. I called and they told me that the billing cycle ended on the 25th and that was interest and DEBT CANCELATION FEE. I agued and the told me they could knock off $93. I told them to look at the phone records where I had called and requested a pay off amount, and that SHOULD have been the pay off amount for the day I called. Finally after getting a supervisor involved they agreed I owed the $0.
Now I am wondering about the DEBT CANCELATION FEE I never signed up for! It seems illegal to me! Mine was $54 a month.

I believe this company is scamming people. My husband and I had 2 accounts with them, same bill and I made and inquiry to a service rep to pay off one in full. We had also reached a payment agreement. Well apparently she only gave me a percentage of the amount (when I clearly stated I wanted to pay it in full) And who does that (percentages) and not state you still owe X. My conditions for the agreement was that I was paying off the account. Why would she not state the full amount?

My husband made an inquiry to get the remainder of the other account paid in full (both accounts would have been closed out). Why would we pay off close to $4k and leave off $100, which has been accruing interest. The reps. could not understand why I was frustrated and told me I should have used a calculator. If I call for my balance & you quote me a figure and I pay that amount what is there to calculate?

I agreed to pay, after they wanted all of my privacy act info. I could not get my account # from them to reference on my check. So what should have reached them in 2-3 days didn't for approx. 2 + weeks. Of course they called me and I told them I paid, referenced the check # & the letter I wrote w/it etc...of course by this time I'm quoted a different payment amount. Which ticks me off. And I asked the agent don't call me anymore this account is paid off. So I guess this ticked him off as well because the next thing I know a day later it's posted on my credit report.

Needless to say they call again and I didn't want to pay them over the phone because I would incur a stop payment fee, and I didn't want this company to waste anymore of my money. And the check should have arrived. So I waited a few more days before the next fees incur and I call and specifically ask "If I pay you over the phone now, will you return my check/funds and not credit me anything with this company". I was told the account was already anotated it would be closed out as I had previously requested. Wouldn't you know Ironically both the check & my over the phone payments cleared the same day. Hmmmm

I think they flagged it, held it & processed it purposely. I am waiting still for my money. I asked all of my info/check # be listed in the notes on my account so they would know. Of course I was reassured with mistruths. As long as MORs is doing business with HSBC, I won't be doing business with them. Very deceptive business practices.

kinda the same situation here.me and my ex girlfriend bought a truck 4 yrs ago.i was the buyer and she was the co-buyer.we went are seperate ways 3 yrs ago and she claimed bankruptcy 2yrs ago.so 2 yrs ago i the buyer tried to make my truck payment online and i couldnt login.so i call the number they gave me and they told me she had claimed bankruptcy (co-buyer) and that i wont be able to pay online 0r get a monthly statement until the bankruptcy was dismissed and that all payments made would go strictly to the principle, which i the buyer thought was great.so i continue making my payments and phone calls every few months to check the status of the account.i didnt like the fact that i was paying for something and not seeing my balance go down, but really couldnt do anything about it, atleast thats what i thought..i then went to the same dealership i got the truck from and told them i want to refinance the truck for the remainder 5k owed on it so i can try to remove my exgirlfriends (co-buyer) name completely off of it.so they the sales guy comes to me and says that i am denied for the refinance because i have a repo /bad auto debt on my credit report.so right now i am furious.i call hsbc and they say that its not a bad debt or a repo and they want to me to pull my credit report and fax it to them.so i do that and they tell me that they are not gonna take it off of my credit report but yet it still shouldnt be there.so the truck gets towed the very next day for a parking violation at work.so i go to the police department to get the release form and pay the tickets and the clerks there tell me this is not my vehicle that i am not on the title and that i cant get it out and that i should call the bank.so i call the bank and after a few hours on the phone they tell me that i am not on the title and that they will send me the title along with a form to be added to the title.so right now at this point i am furious, i have been making all these payments for a truck and the titles not even in my name and my credit shows a bad debt for it.so i go to the dmv and have them pull the paperwork on the truck and show them the original carbon copy buyers agreement and the lady there tells me she never seen anything like this.she prints a copy and shows me what she has which was the same exact buyers agreement except without my name or signature.so i asked for a copy and she told me she couldnt for privacy policies.so a few days later the overnighted title comes in.so i then go to the police department with all of this paperwork and credit report and payment history of the truck and was in the for 2 hrs trying to figure this out.the clerk there was awesome.she gives me the paperwork that the dmv has(which i am not suppose to have) and she tells me "you didnt get this from me".she then goes over them with me and i quickly noticed a a signature that wasnt mine.so somewhere along the line my signature was forged a few times and i am wipped clean from it.this all supposedly happened the day we bought the truck atleast thats what the date says that could of been doctored up also.so after taking all this in in a very short period, i decide that i dont want the truck.my names not on the title or buyers agreement that the dmv has, i owe the bank the bluebook value and to top it all my credit screwed with a bad debt even though it wasnt a bad debt.so we come to the conclusion i am not gonna sign the title because if i do i am on the hook for the remainder of the balanc and it will still show as a bad debt on my credit.so now i am fighting with hsbc and talking to transunion about this matter, because how is it on my credit report and i am not on the title and or buyers agreement that the dmv has.this all happened within the past week and i will return with a post on the outcome.any advice would be appreciated.thanks for being an ear for me to vent my frustration

I am having the exact same problem. I refinanced my vehicle with them, both of them actually. I had to return my plates to the State of CT b/c I moved. I informed HSBC a month prior and now, I am paying for a car I cannot drive. Everytime I call I am told something different. They claim to never have received a fax my husband sent with our social security cards and licenses, if they didn't get them who did? I am also in the process of contacting an attorney. My husband is out to sea and I informed HSBC we cannot re-fax but he can email from the ship, apparently we can't do that b/c they dont have email addresses which is ironic b/c they had email addresses when they emailed me my loan packet. I never ever would have refinanced with this company had I known they were so messed up. Any idea how to escalate? Someone PLEASE HELP! There has to be someone from customer service that is from the US and not India (which is a whole other issue in itself!)

HSBC Holdings unethical practices!

Starting last december I received a phone call from HSBC stating I did not pay the previous bill. I explained I never received a bill that month and it slipped my mind (I never missed a prior payment). I told them I would send them payment immediately. And that's when all the late charges and bogus fee's started showing up. Shortly after those the relentless phone calls began! I stated throwing money at them for all kinds of weird charges... finally I canceled the acct. and tried to transfer the balance which they attempted to block. However, in a round about way I was finally able to transfer the balance and get out from under their mafia...

You will find that HSBC typically misses sending a statement/bill when payments are about to be paid off without interest. In addition, if you pay off a promotion in an amount that exceeds the minimum payment, you will still be charged a late fee if you do not also covere the minimum payment due in addition to the promotion pay-off amount (which again far exceeds the minimum payment due). I think that this practice is unethical and should be reviewed.

It's definately HSBC and I'll be closing my accounts because they always call and never leave messages and hang up on me when I do pick up and say hi. I'm on the NO Call list, but they can get around that because I do business with them...but not after April 2008...I also suggest anyone who has accounts to close them because if enough people do then they may change their telemarketing practices. They also use the following numbers: [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected]. If anyone knows other numbers, please list so we all will know.

I spoke with a Mrs. Pitts and a supposed Supervisor by the name of Mrs Sabrina...Both yelling at me and harrassing me for a payment that I fullfilled months ago. I never received a letter that stated that I fullfilled my part of the deal from them and now they are trying to get me to pay the bill AGAIN! They are very rude, unprofessional, and they are thieves...

How strange is this?
I am also being sued by Palisades Collections at 5215 N O "CONNOR BLVD STE LAS COLINAS, TX 75039.
They claim to have purchased this debt from HSBC.
HSBC sent me a statement that they sold my 5 year old acct to another company - NOT Palisades.
I filed a counter suit on Palisades for fraud and we go to court in a couple of months...
I'm gathering all the info I can on this company also...
BTW SOL on debt in Texas is 4 years...

HSBC Holdings refinancing

Do not use hsbc for mortgages or refinancing unless you love to go through hell and lose money. I have investigations ongoing from state and federal agencies along with the better business bureau into the business practices of hsbc bank, mortgage division. the complaint concerns two issues:
1.) deceptively assuring customers that loans were pre-approved to collect non-refundable application fees
2.) performing fraudulent appraisals.

On february 5, 2008 I inquired online to hsbc bank on the refinancing of my manufactured home. hsbc bank is the current lender for my mortgage for over 15 months which I have had no prior issues with or had any late payments on, so I thought it was in my best interest to continue my business relationship with them. I received a call of pre-approval from denise olszewski of hsbc at [protected] ext. 6393 and she brought up my account and asked me for more personal information and brought up my credit report. at this time we locked in a rate at 5.6% and I was told that I would have to pre-pay a non-refundable application fee of $525.00. at the time she brought up my credit report, which is a credit score of 678 and said that with all of the information she had that the refinancing should go smoothly and quickly. knowing that they manage my mortgage and have for over 15 months, I paid the $525.00 after being assured that the refinancing would be done. after several days I contacted denise to see how the loan was progressing, and was told that hsbc does not refinance manufactured homes and that they would not able to refund the application fee of $525.00. being that they have managed my account for over 15 months I was puzzled why they did not tell me that they could not refinance my home before they took my “non-refundable” application fee.

at this point I submitted a formal complaint and received a call from denise’s supervisor. I explained my frustration that I was assured and pre-approved for a loan which they ultimately would not provide and that they would not refund my money. I would not have given them the application fee of $525.00 if I would have known they would not refinance my manufactured home. she told my that I had given denise false information concerning the property type, for which I stated that not only did I not give any false information, but that they have all of my information from the current mortgage which would made it impossible to falsify my information. at this point she told me that hsbc buys mortgages in bundles and has no idea of what those mortgages are, but she would investigate.

She called the next day to inform me that hsbc would not refund my application fee of $525.00. I the told her that I could not believe that after 15 months of making thousands of dollars from me that this business relationship was going to go sour over $525.00. she then apologized and said that the $525.00 could not be refunded because it was used for an appraisal of my house. I told her that there was not an appraisal done of my house and she checked on her computer and said that one had been done. at this point I told her that I am a certified appraiser ii for the property tax division of the arizona department of revenue and that a drive by picture of a house may justify as an appraisal in new york, but not in the state of arizona. she then checked the computer again and said that a full appraisal had been done of my home. I told her that in order for a full appraisal to be done, the appraiser would have to enter my home and therefore I would have to be present or someone representing me would have to be there. she insisted that a full appraisal was done. I then asked her how did someone get into my house and why would hsbc perform an appraisal on a house that they would not finance. she did not know. I then asked for the name and license number of the appraiser. she said that I would have to talk with underwriter judy harway at [protected] ext. 5173, but quickly said that she was not in that day.

I have left messages with judy harway, but she refuses to return my calls. at this point I felt that there was some kind of fraudulent or criminal business behavior going on and I wrote in another formal complaint to hsbc stating that I was going to file a complaint to the comptroller of the currency, the new york attorney general’s office, the new york division of the better business bureau and the united states justice department asking for a full investigation into the mortgage practices and possible fraudulent appraisals performed by hsbc bank. since issuing complaints to state and federal agencies and multiple complaints to hsbc I have heard no response from hsbc and have not had any money refunded to me at this date.

The moral of this story is stay as far away from hsbc bank as possible. they will find a way, legally or not to take your money.

Mr. Gibson, I have also filed complaints with the Division of Banking, Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Affairs and also a formal complaint to the Executive Office at HSBC, all to no avail. I was not aware till my google search of all the complaints being charged against HSBC's practices. I would very much appreciate it if you or anyone else who has filed a complaint with regards to HSBC, would contact me to discuss further. It appears nothing is being done to correct these issues addressed in the complaints. There is strength in numbers...
please contact me at ldnico1@gmail.com Thanks, Lisa

My name is Linda Vu I am a student at University of Greenwich. I was recommended by a friend to invest my student loan into a mini cash individual saving account (ISA) in HSBC.
On 29th March 2008, I opened the mini cash ISA and invested £3, 000 in cash. After I received a letter which confirmed that the account was successfully opened and that the total amount invested came to £3000.

About six months after, I decided to a visit a different branch of HSBC to check my balance as I have never received any statements since the account was opened. On the screen, it indicated that I only had around £1000 in the account, which I had deposited into my account a few times in the time I opened the account till 6 months later. It showed that the £3000 I had invested had not been deposited or withdrawn.

With this on my mind I went to the branch I opened my account with in Dartford and ask to speak to the manager but was told he was too “busy” to see me. The person who spoke to me replied that the money that I invested when opening my account was not there. She then said that the manager would get back to me regarding the issue.
I returned a few days later as I had not been contacted about the issue and therefore asked to speak to the manager only to be told he is too busy to speak to his customers. I was then told to talk to another member of staff who said that they will be investigating by checking all the account, speaking to the person responsible for opening the account “Tom Kazza”, and by checking their CCTV security system.
I was then told that the manager will definitely contact me within the next two days.

I was not surprise at all when the manager failed to contact me which made me have to go to the branch for the third. Again I was told the manager was yet again busy so I had to speak to the sales manager who said that the £3, 000 transaction was not made on any accounts in that branch on Saturday 24th of March 2008, their CCTV camera did not go back 6 months and that they do not accept cash on a Saturday. The sales manager also indicated that the person responsible, Tom Kazza, was new at his job. Questions were going through my mind such as “why was he allowed to open mine or any other customer accounts and take our money?” and “Who else has he done this to or is going to pull this stunt again?”
She also said the letter of confirmation I had shown is not regarded as proof and wanted my account statements to prove I had that amount in my account.

After being told this, I took a trip to the police station to inform them that Tom Kazza or HSBC has stolen my money, I showed my evidence that I had £3, 000 in my other account and the letter confirming £3, 000 has now been credit to your account.
I was told by the police that HSBC do have the CCTV that goes back to the time my account had been open. In order to open mini cash ISA, I would have needed to deposit money onto it, so therefore how could I possibly open my account on the 24th of March and have a letter confirming I had opened it and the amount I put in prove not to be enough evidence. I was told that in her opinion it was enough proof. I was then advised to go back to the branch to get a letter, which should say that no transaction of that amount was made, and bring it back to the station so that they could investigate the matter.

The HSBC branch in Dartford has been very unhelpful leading to a very distressed and an unhappy customer. Each time I went there, I was told the branch manager was too busy to see and that he will contact me and unfortunately happened three times

When the new manager Hayley Lowe finally investigated the matter she sent me a letter confirming there is no evidence £3000 was credited into my account, of course I was extremely angry so I called up the head office where they said further investigation will be required. I then went into the branch to talk to Hayley to understand what investigation she had done, the only thing she done was talked to Tom Kazze who said “he remembers me and that I did not credit no money in” and that no account within the branch received the £3000, however to open a ISA account you need at least £1 in order for your account to be opened, of course the manager said you don’t need to put no money in, this is when I asked for a leaflet which she went and got, read it, and annoyed “yes you was right you do need to put £1 in but you don’t really” what kind of response is that? I then demanded for another investigation as Tom Kazze or another member of staff has taken my money.
I gave her my Halifax statement to prove I had £3000 in my account during the time I opened my ISA account. During the three weeks after the interview, the senior manager Rebecca Kemp called me up saying they are investigating the matter and can look at their CCTV the date I opened my account.

The 11th of November I receive a letter from Rebecca that “the declaration letter handed to you at the time of opening your account had incorrectly stated the subscription amount and, have fully investigated the matter, I can confirm that we did not receive any funds from yourself on the day opening the account” I imminently called her up to see what they did to investigate that Tom Kazze has taken my money, she replied she has evidence that I did not cash in no money via investigating Tom Kazza again in front of he’s manager and looked at the accounts, this is the same investigation they did before, I keep on repeating you said you was going to check your CCTV, Rebecca replied “we feel we have enough evidence from Tom admitting he’s done a faulty on typing in £3000 and checking all of the account” this is not a fully investigation that he’s taken my money and I have not been treated fairly as a customer as I replied many time did you check your CCTV as that’s the evidence I did give Tom Kazza £3000 in cash, Rebecca kept on saying “for the final time we have done our fully investigation!” this is not including the CCTV. I kept on asking “but have you checked your CCTV” and she said “for the final time we have fully investigated the matter” then rudely hung up the phone on me! She would not answer my question as she has not investigated the issue fully. I am a very unhappy customer who has been distressed and emotional for the last 2 months as they have not been treating me as a individual, refuse to give back my money that I invested in and I feel as I am being discriminate due to my age of being 20. Tom Kazza has taken my money please help!

Please contact me on [protected] or email me on LV_@hotmail.co.uk for more information. I will be happy enough to do interviews.

Thank you

HSBC Holdings unconscionable practices!

Due to work injuries, I have been unable to work since 2004, I was receiving long term disability from my company however that stopped in Dec. 2007, so I have been without income since then and my mortgage fell behind. I had stayed in contact with my mortgage company explaining my situation. For a month and a half, starting in February, I found that I could get a hardship loan from my 401K but I needed specific paperwork from the mortgage company to do this. After a month and a half, I finally got the right paperwork to send to 401K. In the meantime the mortgage was now 4 months behind and HSBC had me served with foreclosure papers on March 16th, and has charged me $1680 for attorney fees that had to be paid before the mortgage payments or they would continue foreclosure proceedings. Now if I can't pay my mortgage, how in the world am I suppose to pay this outrageous fee for an attorney? They're practices are unconscionable! Even though I had been working with someone in their collections department for almost 2 months, they still started foreclosure proceedings, and have charged me an exorbitant amount of money for attorney fees! I had unforeseen financial problems arise, therefore I took out this mortgage for more than my house was valued at, therefore the interest rates on the first and second mortgage are high, and there is an adjustable rate that keeps rising every six months or so. My house payment is now $1350 a month, which is not helping my situation. There was an early payoff fee of $5000 if I refinanced the mortgage when I was able to, so this deterred me. They also tried to charge me 3 times the amount of my annual property taxes and held a payment in their possession until my payment was late and reported me to the credit bureau. This company needs to be stopped from doing wrongful things to the public. I need help! I don't want to loose my house, but I can't keep paying these fees and high rates!

HSBC Holdings hsbc protection plan rip off!

I got the credit cards back in january... and I was told that it was no interest for 6 months... I looked at my bill when I received it and it said that I still had to make monthly payments on both cards... so I then made my payments on time, and wasn't late... I then took a look at the next bill I received... and noticed I was being charged a debt collection fee and a identity protection fee... and that my payments I made barely made a dent in what I owed... so I made a big payment on both cards to see what else would happen... I then noticed after that, that they started charging me the debt collection fee plus the apr plus something else that was only a dollar... I decided then just to pay them in full and not use the cards anymore... well every thing was going good until I checked my acct. online today 3/18/08 and saw that they charged my acct. 9.99 for some protection plan on 3/17/08... I immediately called the identity protection plan department... and canceled it and was told that my account would be credited back the money, wrote down the confirmation number and filed it along side my original contract... where you can plainly see that I never signed up for the identity protection plan...in fact... when I call to activate my card... the man tried to sell that to me... and I plainly said no, even though I could barely understand his english i'm more then sure he could understand me when I said no!... so it was done to my acct... without my permission... and have proof... also... I called my rewardzone master card customer service to make sure that my account would be refunded the 9.99... and that I would not be liable for any charges brounght up on my acct. because of the 9.99 charge... he said that any charges brought on because of this... will be credited back to my acct... i'm hoping that they won't try to scam me out of more money. so anyone who is thinking that getting a bestbuy card is a good idea... run away! I wish I wouldn't have gotten it.

I made an investment with hsbc securities at my local east amherst ny branch. I spoke with an advisor by the name of emir culov. I wanted to invest what little retirement funds I did have into something very conservative (and I reiterated this numerous times during our conversation). I trusted hsbc as I had been a bank customer for years.in 10 months I lost more than 15% of my money (and this was at a time when the market was not at all bad). calls to the bank and efforts to have statements explained to me went unanswered. I feel that mr. culov conned me as he put my money into aggressive funds. my complaints resulted in this advisor lying to his superiors and hsbc taking his word against mine. as a single female who understands nothing about financial planning/investing and who emphasized this many times, I believe I was taken completely advantage of. a financial advisor is supposed to be considerate and understanding of the consumer's wants and needs. they are paid to help people, not hurt them. what was done to me should be deemed illegal. thousands of dollars of my hard earned money is gone and will never be recovered. anyone doing business with hsbc securities beware!

Today I received a letter in the mail that my account had been closed due to inactivity. I had been with hsbc for over 2 years had paid off my credit card and kept it open for emergency purposes. did I not only pay off my credit card, but did it on time and paid more than the minimum payment even when they decided to lower my credit line from $1100 to $300. I am severely pissed off for the fact that I was not respected as a good customer in standings that I received not a courtesy call or letter validating me as a good customer and would like to remain one. instead I felt like because I was a good customer I got treated like sh*. I called immediately for help in resolving my issue-nobody wanted to give me their names but pass me off the next account rep who said that there was nothing that they could do for me-even reopening my account under a transfer or new account number.

Hsbc took my money for years not paying anything on my principal. if I was to pay $186.00 a month they took $183.00 for themselves. nothing ever came off my principal. they are very rude and I am currently unemployed I never missed a payment with them knowing full well they were a scam. I will never deal with this horrible company again. they have $5, 000.00 taken over a two year period. that is fraud. I hp[e there will be class action agains t all of these terrible companies

I have been an hsbc customer since july 2003.Since becoming a current account customer i have applied several times for my overdraft facility to be increased as i was experiencing finacial hardship.I applied for loans and credit cards and was refused several times, the reason given each time was that my credit score was not good enough which i am not disputing but its the reluctance of the bank to assist me and thier lack of flexibility when dealing with my problem that i have a problem with.i know that i probably cant afford to contest this in a court of law or that no body cares to the little man anyway but surely for the bank to authorise my payment last month and then withdraw the facility leaving me with £349.00 has to be wrong and illegal how does anybody expect me to survive for a month without paying my rent or money for food.

I spoke to an hsbc representative who said that there was no body who can help me out as the bank does not have anybody or anyone who can authorise payment of £300.00 that would enable me to pay my rent and at least allow me to manage till the next payday.

I really hate to put this complaint up on a 3rd party website. but hsbc is not giving a reply on my complaint for months now and I am forced to do this.
I have a hsbc card. I applied for supplementary card for my sister.
In 2008, she used the card in may.
In 2008, I wanted to use my card in august. card rejected. expired. I called card centre, they says they sent new card in jan. I said I did not receive, ask for new card. they said sorry. new card not activated, thus account cancelled.
?
How is that my main card is cancelled in jan, and my sister could still use in may?
Explanation from bank: main and supp cards are individual. if want to re-issue my card, needs income doc again
My reason: if not for my main card, supp card wouldnt' be in existance in the first place.
Till now:... no reply from bank
Can someone tell me what to do?

In january 2010, I was penalized over $2200 in recurring interest for a television system that I purchased and all I was credited back to me was 65%... crooks

I never received my payment prior to my interest free expiration date and when I called they said it was too late for me to payoff the amount owed without a penalty.

It took me one week to open an account, and one week to get my dept card,
The city centre branch has a poor service, there is one employee only
And he can't understand english! nor arabic,
Poor attitude too,
I wanted to deposit money in my account but I can't do this
From city center branch,
So I had to drive to another branch - adlyia
Once I did that, I wanted to use there atm
To change my pin code, haha, the atm looked my card
From the first use, strange!
I complained to the staff and no one cared
I told them, I wanna close my account, they told me
They said go ahead,
This scenario should be handled in different way
They should do something to recover these failure
Points. but they failed to
Never use them again and I will spread negative word
Of mouth about them wherever I go.

I am not receiving monthly Credit card statement since last three to four months and i am paying the dues after confirmation through your customer care service which is very long procedure. It is mandatory to send the Credit Card statement by post before the due date by the Bank.

I am also interested in taking a personal loan of about 1.5 lacs. What is interest rate and other terms and conditions.

HSBC Holdings harassing calls!

I have 5 credit cards with hsbc (never again) I recently got hurt at work and need surgery. I have filed a claim with the disability section of the credit card company. I receive several calls daily regarding my late payments. I have told them on several occasions and even when I am being interrupted by the caller tried to tell them (although they don't listen) about the claim and that I am only making what work comp pays and that is less than 1/2 of what I make. so food and rent is my main priority right now. I have talked to several managers about what is going on and they state that they will put a note on their computer regarding that and that no further late fees will be assessed.

I am still receiving phone calls that ask for the money owed and I actually was able to send in some money and make at least the 1st month current. I am very pi*d off at this point and when they call I put them on hold stating that I am on the other line and just hit the mute button. I have a son overseas in iraq and the same info comes over the caller id when he calls, so I have to answer each phone call hoping that it is my son instead.

I've been receiving calls [protected] about 4 times a day. I work nights and these calls start from in the morning and go through out the day. I know i am behind my monthly, but it is only for this. Sometimes when you answer the call no one talks. The time i have been able to talk to someone i inform them that i will make a payment this coming week but the calls do not stop.

Yours truly,

Victor m. Marrero

Long story short, went in and directly asked what would happen if I used my card overseas and was told no fees would be charged, and if they were, I would get them back. I went overseas, used the card, and got hit with roughly $20 in fees that I was told in the end is my problem. NEVER use this bank.

HSBC Holdings disgusting level of customer service!

My HSBC Master Gold Card was charged twice with an amount of AED 3611.98 and since 11/12/07 i am in constant touch the bank staff, even visited the Sharjah Br.Met one Ibrahim.D-Customer service agent on 03/01/08 who agreed to bring the stars from the sky (big mouth). Another lady by name Anita called me and informed me to keep me posted on the development but until date the status remain the same where i started on 11/12/07.

The worst customer service I have ever come across in the UAE. The better vocabulary cannot be used in this print media.

YES - HSBC Dubai is without question the WORST BANK - it has security problems, IT problems, safety of your money problems, inability to access your own funds problems, it is expensive and just more than doubled its charges without so much as an explanation or an apology, the telephone banking is based in India and the staff literally have no capacity to deal with a problem or anything out of the routine, I like so many others have wasted far too many hours of life trying to get even the most fundamental level of banking service let alone getting a problem solved - do what many others are doing - leave for a better option - assuming that there is a better option in Dubai?@U^%$^$#W!^%$@
