Policy # 207, 064, 239: On March 15. 2011, I fell off a tread mill at Life Quest Exercise Gym, and fractured my pelvis. I could not walk, and Dr. prescribed a wheel chair, which I was in for four weeks, enduring much pain. On 3/20/11, we gave Mr. Leslie S Hollo, Insurance agent, a completed claim form, detailing the accident. Mr Hollo said he would check into our supplemental insurance and get back to us, which he did and said Continental did not cover our situation, but that on 4/16/11, the Bankers' Policy would apply. Before 4/16/11, we got another request to file a claim to the regional office in Wilmington, which we did.
We recieved no assistance as to Care Giver's, or how to handle getting care, how to pay/or bill Banker's...NOTHING!!! Today, we called the Wilmington office for advice on how to proceed, and the agent said we had to wait another 30 days, and they had to investigate the claim before we could get help.
After threatening to sue Bankers and report them to the Better Business Bureau, someone called today and said we could proceed to employ care giver's service. This is 34 days after the accident and 4 days after we are eligible for care.
The policy effective date is August 2, 2007, with priemium of $400.00 semi-annually; so after paying Banker's $3, 000.00, the response to our claim is "HORRIBLE", and we have not determined whether or not we will cancel the policy; it will depend on the service or lack thereof between now and then!
