Home Hardware Stores outdoor sign

The sign outside his business reads. Why doesn't anyone get offended by Black Friday. I'm just asking you people. If Don Cherry can be fired in the media. What should yo UO with a business owner and city councilor. Not an impression Home Hardware would like to make I'm sure. This is not the first time he has posted on this sign to make his own point. Like bashing our city hall until he ran in the election and won.

Home Hardware Stores purchased pipe heat line

I purchased a 60' heating for 11/4 " plastic pipe because i was told you only sold 40', 60', 80'.and 100' lengths i needed a 50' . a few months after ordering it I found out on your website that 50' were in fact available I went back to my local dealer and they ordered one. when it arrive they sent my 60' kit back and then a week later I was told they wouldn't credit me because the out side box wasn't returned with the kit but it was never unpacked or used, then to make matters worse I was told that head office would not return it to the stores now I am out 550.00 and do not have a heat line, I complained many time and the dealer finally got your head office to send it back to me, but I cannot use the 60 ' with out moving all my piping in my basement. Could some one call me on my cell to have a conversation about this 519~588~3966. thanks Brad Phillips

Home Hardware Stores harassment

I went in today to buy some folding chairs and one of the employees, Jacob clues verbally harrased me. He began saying I was too fat for the folding chairs, and went about how I would break them and such. After I began to cry, he laughed at me and called me a "pussy [censored] [censored]" for feeling hurt about the things he said about me. He continued to harass me as I made my way through the store, and on my way out he told me "walk sideways, if you straight through those doors you won't fit" please fire this employee immediately as it is not acceptable.

Home Hardware Stores shingles

On October 5, 2007, System Care purchased shingles for me from Harris Home Hardware in Bible Hill, NS. The invoice# is 747146. They were installed by them through an insurance claim. The shingles are 12 years old and are now in need of replacement. They have a 25-year warranty. I had someone check my chimney, and that's when I found out my shingles were in need of replacement. The first time I called Harris Home Hardware to find out what brand they were (to have a company rep sent out), they told me their computer could no longer load the old program so they wouldn't be able to retrieve the info I needed and to try back. A few days later, I called again. This time they said it wouldn't be anytime soon because head office in Ontario would need to send someone down to fix the problem. This is not acceptable. I need to know asap what brand they were so a company rep can be contacted to initiate the process of replacing my shingles. Too much time has been wasted already and winter is coming. My email is [protected]@gmail.com and my phone numbers are [protected] and [protected]. For the record, I give my boyfriend, Kevin Smith, full permission to speak on my behalf regarding any of this. Thank-you, Janice

Home Hardware Stores unethical behaviour, bullying and harassment

I contracted our local home hardware to build a deck. The owner of the store has continually harassed, bullied and ignorant with myself on multiple occasions. My contract specifically states a payment was due upon delivery of supplies. The owner text me, emailed me, called me and showed up at my home demanding payment. Supplies had not been delivered. The hassle to get supplies, be appropriately charged for them has also been a hassle. Numerous mistakes in accounting, being charged for services not completed, information twisted and supplies returned not credited. Also attitude received when as a customer i made them aware. I would not recommend them to do business with.
On top of it all the insult of reducing my bill by approximately 60 dollars for the inconvenience. .

Home Hardware Stores portable air conditioner

Purchased a De Longhi portable airconditioner 14, 000 btu, bought July 3 2019, after 51 days of use the air con, stopped working. I paid $699.00 for this unit. I called the manufacturer first to find a service representative in my area, I was told they do not have anyone in Ontario as I should return it back to the store as they would return it back to their supplier as they would deal with the unit . I went back to the store with the unit, I was told that because i didnt have the original box they would not accept the unit as they have no way to ship unit back, that was first response, i replied with " who keeps boxes around after a few weeks and why is that my problem to deal with?"
Their second response was, They need a " return authorization number form the manufacture before they would send it back ! .
I called De Longhi after returning home, they basically laughed and said thats not how they deal with returns, they told me to just get them to send it back, BTW This is all documented on m y case file with De Longhi this whole coversation and situation.
I called the store back, response I got was its my responsibilty to return the unit back to the manufacture..ugh...
I replied back saying I am a customer of your store, You represent your products you sell its not my responsabilty to deal with this. THEN...I was suddenly informed that airconditioners are only warrantied for 30 days under the HomeHardware and the return policy is void for this unit...WHAT...where is that on the bill or in the store..it isnt anywhere and I was not .
Im stuck with this dilema...i need help. Alan Travis [protected] i want my money back.

Home Hardware Stores customer service

On June 27, 2019, I called the Dundas Home Hardware in response to the Home Hardware website. The site stated that I needed to call the store to find out if the product that I was looking for was in stock. The person answering the phone refused to serve me properly; I was calling because their site stated that was what I was supposed to. I am not going to travel to the store if the product is not there.
She refused to help me or to wait while I confirmed if the product that she was referring to was the same as the one that I was calling about. She basically hung up on me after bullying me and not waiting for me to check the site. The page was already up on my computer but was not showing the same information as she was quoting.
I think Home Hardware should fire rude employees and update their site. We have enough to do without wasting our time on a site that does remain current then having to call a store that is rude and refuses to confirm information before we drive in to part with our hard-earned money.
I will go elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

Home Hardware Stores Rude, discriminating staff

Hi. I recently had the worst and most insulting experience of my life. An hour or so prior to arriving at the Home Hardware in Devon, after checking the website, I called the store to confirm that they had a cheap soldering iron in stock for $16 and the younger sounding male confirmed that they had two. Upon arriving, I started scanning the isles and upon reaching the isle that I thought the item would be located, an overweight female who I believe was manager or supervisor started frantically asking me questions about what I was looking for as she maneuvered infront of me and literally blocked my path into the isle (its a small store with narrower isles)
She asked: "what are we looking for?"
I responded: "a 16 dollar soldering iron. I just talked to someone on the phone and they said that you have two in stock"
She says: "who did you talk to?"
Me: "I don't know. A younger sounding male."
Her: "There are no younger males that work here"
Me: "Well I promise I did talk to someone"
Her: "How long ago?"
Me: "an hour or or two"
There was some more interrogating and I was already feeling extremely insulted and hindered but I remained very polite and patient. After some more interrogation, she called out across the store to another employee in a very condescending tone "Apparently he talked to someone and they said they have some soldering iron"
"we don't have soldering irons"
"we dont have that"
Then she said to me: "Do you know the item number?"
and I said: "No I dont have it with me"
and her reaction was is she had just caught me red handed stealing something she practically gasped.
I said: "cant you just look it up then? it's a 16 dollar soldering iron" she hesitated for a good 30 seconds give me stupid weird looks... it was extremelly uncomfortable than frantically goes to the back of the store for about 20 seconds and I just stood there because I just wanted her to come to the conclusion that I wasnt there to steal or whatever ridiculous idea she had in her head..
she gets back and says "computers are down but we dont carry anything like that"
I said "well its on your website can I please just look? that's not the only thing I'm looking for "
she amneuvers into the isle I wanted to look in and finds two soldering irons right there but they were move expensive ones.. and says "this is all we have"
I say again "can I please just look?"
then she says "lets look over here"
and she directs me to the other side of the store and repeatedly tells me nope we dont have it. I said to her "would you feel more comfortable to let me shop if I put my bag up at the front?"
she says "Oh I wasnt even thinking that but we do usually ask people that"
so I went and left my bag at the checkout to the non responsive cashier who I also found incredibly illmannered I tried letting her know but she wouldnt respond.
I go back to the isle she had directed me to and she finally stops blocking me from going anywhere but I over heard her telling other employees to watch me and then every 10 seconds they walked by... it really was just the most disrespecty and blatant discrimination I have ever expereinced. Then as I'm looking in the wrong area she directed me to, She finds the soldering iron I was looking for exactly where I was trying to get to and look in the first place and calls me over.
When I got to her I said very calmly and nonaggressivly "now wouldnt you have felt bad if I had just left when you said it wasnt here after making the trip to come here?"
and she laughed and said in an extremely condescending tone "Oh ya. Haha. I would have felt sooo bad for the pooooor man"
and then I needed solder and she of course wouldnt let me look and back to the "this is all there is"
and I said "well thats what you said about the soldering iron" and she put her finger in the air like a scolding mother and said "you be quiet." it was unbelievable.. I did a bit more browsing, holding and item in both hands with my hands which felt just ridiculous.. while her minions stalkjed me at her command.. and then when I finally got to the register.. and this.. this is just the cherry on top that just makes thgis too insane in ridiculous to believe. Right at the till, a black guy LITERALLY crumpled up some item and opened it right there infront of this insane lady and the rude cashier and asked for a discount saying it was used! AND SHE GAVE IT TO HIM! I was right after him and when I got to the till, I started saying.. the cashier wouldnt even look at me.. she looked just disgusted that I even existed.. but an older female who I must say seemed like a completely well mannered, nice polite lady, came in closer to respectfully hear what I had to say.. The worst lady who had made this the shopping run from hell had dissappeared but showed up again in the middle of what I said to the nice older lady
I said: "I know it wasn't you, but I feel the need to says that I really don't appreciate being treated like a criminal. " the terrible lady had returned by now.. "I get that you need to be careful of shoplifters but this kind of treatment will cost much more than any shoplifters." and even now with a rude voice she said "well I was just trying to help. I can't help if he interpretted it that way" and I said "well I have been helped by alot of people and it has never felt like that then I left and as I was leaving the nice lady said in an apologetic tone "we're closing soon so maybe thats why it seemed so rushed" and I said "I realize that was a part of it" but really I was just being nice because she seemed like such a nice lady. How I was treated was insane and for her to just watched as this black male crumpled a product right in front of her and give him a discount but then treat me like I was the criminal is just beyond words insulting and just insane.. Besides her and the rude cashier, the store seemed fine, but I know that this is not an isolated incident as I have seen this kind of feminist discrimination so many times and I am just so done with taking that kind of abuse or seeing others abused like that.

Home Hardware Stores products and installations

My mom purchased a door for the back of the house and she waited a long time to get it delivered and installed and it wasn't installed properly and it was warped cause my mom had three door companies come and look at it and they said it was she had to wait a long time again for the owner to come out and look at it and the guy he brought said it was warped but the owner said no it wasn't but he had someone come out and replace the door but used the glass from the other one but my mom was charged again for another door and to have it installed. The second time it was done they had to cut my moms flooring and it looks horrible so why can't she get her flooring replaced and she was told again that she got another warped door. Now my mom doesn't like to make waves but it isn't fair that she has to pay twice to have one door installed and she has given this store a lot of business but the problem is that we have known the owners for a long time but my mom is a senior and can't afford much now as far as renovations go and certainly doesn't have the money to fix the issues that they messed up.

Home Hardware Stores service

Was in your Cranbrook bc location just before closing on Friday and went to purchase an item for 39.99 regular price 99.99 ant the cashier said that the sale didn't start until the next day so she wrote on the box my name and phone number. I had a funeral the next day that went a little longer than expected so i went to purchase my item on Sunday and they had sold it. I asked them why they didn't call me and they said " well you didn't show up so we put it back on the shelf and sold it " item now is out of stock and wasn't even offered to give me the sale price at a later date. I'm a local contractor and do my fare share of business there. But this is very poor customer service and relations.

Home Hardware Stores service clerks

Almost every check out girl at the Claresholm Home hardware is as rude as they come. When you approach the counter there is no greeting and when you are done paying there is no farewell. If you approach them for help prepare to have them roll their eyes absolute worst customer service. The short fat one is the worst out of the bunch, second is the taller blonde girl. The gentlemen on the other hand are very good and helpful.

Home Hardware Stores customer service by phone

Home Hardware Customer Service does not provide adequate service. I wanted to speak with a Home Hardware representative about a new Dyson product and whether on not Home Hardware online or stores would be carrying it. I called Customer Service and was unable to speak with a human about products. I was told "good bye" twice and hung up on both times when I pushed different numbers on my phone trying to speak with a HH representative. Contacting Home Hardware by phone was a negative experience.

Home Hardware Stores dogs in stores

I do not understand why dogs need to be allowed in stores period and if they are why are they not required to wear a muzzle. There is no need for dogs in any stores. Some of us are petrified of dogs and don't need to be in a check out line stuck with someone who has a pit bull on a lease that they are allowing to walk up to people. When did this become a policy and where to actual customers who would just like to shop in peace go to shop. Dogs should be left at home where they belong. I will no longer be shopping at any of your locations because I am not running the risk of being bitten, barked at or jumped on. There is no need...none.

Home Hardware Stores milwaukee m18 tool kit

I wasn't satisfied with my Milwaukee tools and I wanted to return them. It was within the 30 day return period and I still had my receipt but Amica said I couldn't return them because she claimed they were used as a matter of a fact she just said no to my face. About a week or 2 later I was shopping at home hardware again and in front of me another customer was returning a used tool and she was right there with the cashier. I'm guessing he was a contractor because he had an account and had a high visibility vest on and she let him return it! It was pathetic how they lost their receipt and it was longer than 30 days and not only to mention that but the tool was covered in sawdust too. Now after that I'm never buying my tools from their again and I'll be going to kilrich or Canadian tire for my tools and I'm extremely unsatisfied with the service she gave me, especially coming from the store manager.

Home Hardware Stores customer service lady

Today August 21, my husband went into HH to purchase some copper pipe and sharkbite fittings. While at the til the lady was trying to charge us 15 for our 5.99 pipe. My husband corrected her telling her that no that wasnt the right price and she snapped " Shut up and let me do my job !" He said pardon and she repeated it. He said well he could take his business elsewhere and she replied " Good!" He spoke to the manager who was apologetic but it doesnt speak so highly of the store. We are renovating the bathroom and have been there more times than we can count this week!

It would be great if you could pass on the message to all stores that customer service matters! Whatever happened to the customer is always right? And even if he were wrong, there are proper ways to speak to someone.

Thank you
Brandi Satterthwaite

Home Hardware Stores koolking air conditioner

On July 2nd 2018 at 3:39 pm, I purchased KoolKing air conditioner from your store for $459.89 model MPPH-10CRN1-BI0. The machine original carton states, "cools max 450 sq. ft.". In fact, it does not cool even 150 sq. ft., you have to be just in front of the unit to feel the cold air coming out.

I checked the user manual and followed all the steps listed in the trouble-shooting guide, but nothing helped. The machine appears to be faulty and is unfit for its purpose, as it does not achieve what is advertised on its original carton.

I used the machine for just one night. On July 3rd 2018 at 6:30 pm, I returned to the store with the machine and asked for a full refund of the purchase price and the store manager Claude Lavoie refused and requested to leave the unit in the store for checking it on July 4th as his technician is not there.

Actually, I purchased the air conditioner in this specific period for my kids to avoid any health risks that could happen due to the heat wave and humidity that will continue until Thursday July 5th. Unfortunately, I paid $459.89 for nothing, and there is no benefit now for checking/repairing the said unit; therefore, I do not want to repair or check anything, I just need my money back.

Home Hardware Stores paint department

In August of 2017 I finished rebuilding wooden sidewalk and front uncovered deck with all new wood from the local Home Hardware store. I went in with the customer (mother in law) to ask about a quality paint or stain and a grit we can apply to make it less slippery for snow and ice. As she lives alone. The man at the counter took us to the paint section and offered up this great product will last for years he says, this was a concern I mentioned I do not want to have to repaint or recover every year or so. The weather was perfect last Summer for painting and everything went on great and looked great in the end. We applied the grit between coats as instructed. All winter long the floor portion started peeling and lifting evening areas with no traffic. I approached the people at the same paint department later in the spring and described the problem in a calm fashion. The gentleman was busy and didn't seem to have time to deal with this because in his opinion nobody should use paint on a deck only stain and it was his manager that we dealt with and he is not in today. I decided to go see the store manager and discuss this with him. He came to the decision that it would be best if they could see it in person. I text the gentleman the many pictures I had taken of the problems. He told me he just wants to prevent this from happening again, understandable I agreed with him. The man that sold us the product and recommended and handed the paint to us went to the residents himself to look at the problem. Before he left he blamed everything on my 78 year old Mother in law because she failed to read the label and he must have been told this was a covered porch so it was not his mistake. She was very upset and rattled by this display from this arrogant person. I went back to the store to solve this problem and discussed the encounter she was placed in with the store owner or main manager that I have known for years. I asked that they please contact my mother in law and apologized to her for the rude behaviour she had received, he agreed and thanked me for being so calm and patient. I come to find out my mother in law received yet another call and was quite surprised as the person on the phone proceeded to again claim that the man in question has been doing this for 20 plus years and would never make this mistake. She asked the person so again it must be my fault that I received the wrong product, again he would not make this mistake ever. I have been extremely patient with the staff and managers at this Home Hardware Store. They have offered to lend me a sander and supply sand paper for me to rectify the problem and they offered to replace the product free of charge. But the abuse to a sensible 78 year old woman that had nothing to do with the choice of product other than pick the color and pay for the product has to be dealt with. There are a lot of choices to shop in this world and bad reputations go a long ways in today's media. I am at that point with these people.

Home Hardware Stores rude and not caring and outright unprofessional

On Thursday June seventh 2018, at exactly 3:13 pm I called rimbey home hardware to inquire as if they had a rust paint that could be tinted to silver.

They informed myself that they did have one and could accommodate my request with no issues.

I arrived at there store around 4:30 pm the same day.

I had to wait about five min before the lady came over to assist us.

The lady did know in what I was referring to but when I asked her to mix it she informed myself that she did not have the paint code.

I used my I-Phone to look it up via the home hardware website and located the paint code and proceeded to give it to her.

She then informed me that the computer wouldn't except the code because I needed a different brace paint

So I changed the colour slightly to one they had in a premix colour code witch I also got from the website; called "Silver Grey" code number 1855-647

She typed it into the computer and it worked with the clear bace line

But she then told me that she wouldn't do it because the had in stock that colour in the porch and floor paint

I asked why not because the computer says it will work

She never answered just walked away

A few minutes later she returned and told me to go to sylvan lake. And said she was done her shift and left.

I was then approached by a man who I asked to see the manager. Who replied "I'm the manager today"

In which I replied today? Are you the manager?
Or just a temporary one?

He replied that the manager had not been there in months and wasn't going to be for some time and that he had to do it.

He then said in a condescending tone "listen we can't help you. Go to Castle" (known as rimbey builders)

I straight out told him that I wasn't happy with what had just happened

He just shrugged his shoulders and chuckled.

I then called what I thought was the home hardware corporation. Turns our home hardware isn't owned by the corporation but I s independently owned.
So there is nothing they will do other than implying I'm not being truthful.

Needless to say I went to Castle and had the paint I wanted within ten min

Home Hardware Stores service/accuser

I went to get a part for a weed eater and asked Peter, the manager, for an order in for it. The part was unavailable. When I asked the girl to trash it, she said it was ok to leave it at the store to get rid of it. On May 22nd 2018 I went to get a bolt for another weedeater and Peter accused me of just leaving it (the trashed weedeater) there. I expressed implicitly that I confirmed that the lady had said it was ok to leave it. He kept saying you left it. I found out with a witness present that Peter had no idea who the lady's name that I talked to. (I asked him) and actually in his own words said stop making a mountain out of it. I stated I wanted the truth and I said he was accusatory. One comment that Peter the manager stated was I don't give a [censored]. He also said he didn't care about his rain check deals and if his employees have a different viewpoint on to honor them or not. I lost all respect for his crass attitude and swearing.
Crass definition, without refinement, delicacy, or sensitivity; gross; obtuse; stupid: crass commercialism; a crass misrepresentation of the facts.
I have bought two brand new weedeaters there. Peter had also stated, oh, you got that from the landfill. (they have a recycling program there, oh that weed eater was used, What does it matter?) The time he spent arguing was lost to the fact he was too busy to help to get a bolt to fix one that I brought in. I asked if he could find another person for help, but he gave another excuse. I found an employee lady and a customer to help. He needs early retirement permanently off the planet.
Peter had stated oh it is his complaint. Well, here is mine to the public on the service. Peter went overboard. Peter needs to be service audited by the head office and maybe counseling would improve business. Does labor relations handle conduct ethic standards relationship. It is a chain and needs their franchise businesses to be held accountable for their poor management skills.

Home Hardware Stores window

I ordered some windows for my home and paid top dollar for them.

When the wibdows arrived after a long wait one of them was the wrong size.

This window is not the size I ordered and in order to use it it would require cutting a beam.

When I called the manager and explained their mistake he disputed that he had made a mistake in ordering or delivery order and said he could do nothing about it.

He said I could order another window but I would have to pay full price and wait weeks for it.
