Home Depot Cheap and wrong patio door installation by home depot

A contract was signed with Home Deport to replace and install a patio door at my house at 5401 Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga, ON L5M 5C8.

The job was delayed and the Home Depot contractor was asked to cancel the contract. However, the contractor refused and informed that my patio door has been received and will be installed on Saturday October 10, 2020.

The installers sent removed my old patio door and brought in a door that was not what we agreed on. The door was of a different design and shorter in height that the opening. When questioned, the installers blackmailed and gave me 2 choices, either install the door or they will leave without installation and leave the cavity open.

The cavity between the masonry opening and door frame was covered with decorative wood and poor job of caulking was done. During the installation, the installers refused to wear face masks and repeatedly asked to use a bathroom.

The contractor office was contacted at 905-238-2992 and the sales man Lucas was called at 647-989-6967. In addition, Oakville Home Depot was contacted. No one was available.

The installers installed the cheap and [censored]ty door and asked me to sign. I signed with my comments and refused to accept the job completion.

Later, Oakville Home Deport was contacted and I was told that Home Depot is not responsible for the contractors and I should take it up with the contractor.

This clearly indicate that both Home Deport and the contractor EXTERIOR SIDING are nothing but thugs and would do anything to make money.

Home Depot Wg10914338 chocolate brown microfiber and faux leather left chaise sectional with storage ottoman

The sectional that I ordered was delivered on 7/9/2020 minus the ottoman that was to have been included. I have reached out to the Home Depot twice and cannot get through to customer service via telephone, when I enter or say the number such as 2 or 7 nothing happens and the recorded voice just keeps saying the same thing. After paying over $700 for the sectional, I just want the ottoman that was supposed to be delivered with it or a credit.

Thank you!

Home Depot Refrigerator "free delivery"0

I bought a large refrigerator last year and the delivery guys couldn't get the old one through the door. They took it apart and moved it out in pieces. Apparently, the mover guy did not know how to use a dolly because he flatten the rail for the sliding glass door, and gouged wood out of the steps. After they finished, I went to my car in the driveway and found that I had a dent in the rear wheel panel and scratches into the paint. Contacted HD and they referred me to their claims management co and they sent me to the delivery company and their risk management person who was an [censored]. Unless I had a picture or video of the damage they would not accept responsibility. They did fix the patio door rail and gave me a gift card for new paint. Too bad for them as they lost a good customer who had previously purchased a Tuff Shed Garage, multiple appliances and numerous tools and supplies. Free delivery cost me $1200 for car repairs.

Home Depot Windows and balcony sliding glass door

Dear Home Depot

My name is Roxana Beyranvand and I am a loyal Home Depot customer. There is roughly 100+ years of customer purchases between my family and I for Home Depot products and services.

Now I bring to your notice my extreme concern for my investment and purchase of three Home Depot windows and one extra-large balcony sliding glass door on June 26, 2020.

At the point of purchase, I was assured the windows and balcony would be produced and installed the first week in August 2020. Instead, there has been delay after delay causing me to lose three months of work days on my condo renovations.

Once again, last week, during the most recent installation date the job failed because the product was ordered incorrectly. This and previous errors have been major repeat documentation and coordination mistakes from Home Depot staff.

I implore you to look into this matter, and either refund my complete purchase or provide a discount for the costs I've incurred as a result of this extreme delay!

Thank you for attending to the above matter. Do feel free to contact me at any time at [protected].

Thank you,
Roxana

Home Depot Appliance sales / military discount

On 22 September 2020, my wife and I were in the Summerville, SC, Home Depot Store trying to purchase a washer/dryer stackable set. They had the exact set on the floor and would not sell them. We had to order the set and wait until 09 October 2020 for delivery. When we went to purchase this set the sales associate would not honor our 10% Military Discount, even after we showed them we are both military retirees and that I am a 100% disabled Veteran. On their site, the military discount is really confusing and even more so for their sales associates to understand. They said Home Depot does not allow military discount on sale items and especially does not allow the discount on the purchase of appliances. This is completely wrong! Lowes honors the discount and will also sale you the floor set if they do not have the item readily in stock.

To begin with, thank you for your service Mr Harris. I very much appreciate one's military service. With that said, such service does not entitle anyone for purchase discounts. It sickens me to see or hear of anyone complaining because their military service doesn't provide them with better pricing. Is that all your service really means?

Also, allot of retailers refrain from selling off floor models — especially with the current situation with Covid.

Home Depot Product / service and everything in-between...

Good Afternoon:

Our initial favorable opinion of High Standards Installations is fading very quickly. The original installer for a pair of garage doors was very efficient at first. Unfortunately the dent in the panel was beyond the installers control and he was not advised by HOME DEPOT, COURTENAY, BC.. (windows and doors - KATHIE). that weather stripping was to be installed, which resulted in a second trip out by the company. The crew that arrived on Friday ( September 18th 2020) only brought sufficient material to install the weather stripping for one door. They said that they would return the following day (Saturday) to complete the job. Saturday came and went with no sign of High Standards. We didn't really expect anyone to show as it was the weekend. But today (Monday, September 21st. ) we thought there might be an effort or at the very least a call from the company to set up an appointment. The doors were ordered and paid in full on May 29, 2020. We are almost at the four month interval, fall is upon us with the heating season coming and we're still waiting to the job to be completed. The gap opening around the garage doors is quite substantial, allowing cool air as well as rain to pass through.

We do hope that this completion will be given the highest priority. As this is not the first time a project arranged by HOME DEPOT has gone awry.

Both my spouse and I have serious doubts we will be considering Home Depot for future projects. Regardless, of how convenient they are to us via location.

Thank-you,

Mr. Brian Wilmot (Wil Wilmot)

Home Depot Customer service

I found an item with a sale sign above and purchased it. The cashier rang it up and it was the incorrect price which I pointed out. The cashier said, "you have to return it." first annoyance of the lack of follow up with the price. When I got to the returns desk, they said they had to send someone to look for the sale. I followed them and showed them then the salesperson said, "I don't work in this department so I have to call another person over." it was very frustrating to be tossed from person to person with no proper help. The last person came and said that maybe it was incorrect which was incredibly frustrating considering the placement of the items with the sign and how it wasn't very clear since it was with similar material and didn't seem out of place. I felt like the customer service was very poor and it ruined my experience.

Home Depot Lied about delivery status of my order wg16371068

I placed an order for hardwood floors on Sept 6th and when I placed the order, was given an estimate of it being delivered on Sept 16th. Since I was using the hardwood floors for my home that I am working on getting on the market to sell by Sept 25th, getting it on Sept 16th was fine. I have been waiting at my place since early morning on Sept 16th since I got a notification that it is on it's way to Sacramento and it will be delivered today. Early afternoon when I checked the status again, it showed that it will be in Salt Lake by Sept 23rd. I called customer service to find out what is gong on and was told by the customer service rep that she talked to Estes transport and yes my hardwood floors will still be delivered today. I asked for the number for Estes so I could call them if it still hasn't arrived around 5PM. I called around 1:30PM to get an estimate of the time and was told that my shipment wasn't even in California! The shipment is expected to arrive at Salt Lake by Sept 23rd and she told all this information to the Home Depot customer service agent I first talked to. I was absolutely livid and called Home Depot and was put on hold for about 30min while the second agent was on hold with Estes. I told the second agent that she is not going to be able to get the to deliver today since the flooring is not in California and asked that she cancel my order. I cannot believe the first agent LIED to me! I will never be shopping at Home Depot again. I used to be a loyal customer but this experience really pushed me to the limit especially when I'm already stressed trying to get my home prepped to get it on the market. If I had known that I wouldn't be getting it on time, I would have looked for another option. Now I'm having to scramble.

Home Depot Employment

I'm a retired Deputy Sheriff and 10 year USAF combat Vet. Took a Department Supervisor position at Twin Falls Home Depot. Was great working there with the management team working when I was hired. Was recognized as a high potential for promotion to salaried management. I was sent to training, made a key carrier/MOD within 6 months. All was progressing good.

Then the Store Manager was transferred, one ASM quit, and another promoted to Store Manager in another state. Corporate chose a Mormon SM who hired another Mormon ASM. How do I know this, was told about Mormon Missions during Monday Same Page meetings.

Our Store ACI score went from bad to worse with the new SM. All blame was placed on the older and experienced Department Supervisors who were just following orders from the SM, one of the old ASM's who left admitted that unreasonable expectations were being placed on the DS's.

Prior to the new Mormon taking command of the store I was getting great evals, platinum Homer award, being developed to promote. That all came to a screeching halt with the new SM. I addressed this during a DS town hall with the DM and DHRM, that alleged private conversation that involved another MOD in the same position was promptly reported to the SM who then brought in another Mormon SM to conduct a week long interrogation on several people.

Then came COVID, as the masks were being instituted I found myself being written up three times in three weeks. Once for not coming in during vacation to make sure my associates were doing what they were told, Once for leaving 5 minutes early while cutting OT, apparently my lumber associate left for lunch and didn't tell me or pass off her first phone, and once for a MOD checklist item involving HHM that was initially not done correctly by an ASM. I turned in my resignation and took my $15-20k per year spend elsewhere. Within the 10 days after I left three other DS's left and were replaced by young 20 somethings with no experience.

Got a much better job paying much more the day after I left, many former THD associates there who love leaving there. The corporation does not practice what it preaches with the value wheel and inverted pyramid. Really loved the Mormon ASM having snitches working for him to hunt down DS's he did not want there.

Home Depot Tuff shed

I tried to design on line yet it would never go through. We then went into the store only to find
1 person to help me with the design. We hand to stand the entire time. I told the person who worked in the garden shop my design. I ordered everything I wanted. Well he said he doesn't normally work in that area. Anyway I said 10x10 with black roof and undecided color because we wanted it to match our other building. Well the computer went down and he had to reload.

Someone from the tuff shed came out to see where to place the shed. My husband told him to match as close as possible to our already built building with A BLACK ROOF.

When the building was placed as of today, not a cream color It was gray and had a nickle gray roof( not black) I think when the sales guy lost the first info he was given he got in a hurry to try and reload and chose the wrong roof color. Plus we thought the first guy that came out took pictures of our existing building No, he did not.

Well even after all that, the guys that installed our building never touched up the nail holes, they tried but already loaded their ladders which should have been used to reach the high spots. We are very disappointed.
I think we should be reimbursed with some of our money or you need to have someone do what we ordered the first time. I had to order paint cost was 80.00 to repaint, I don't know how much the cost would be to re do the roof . A very disappointed customer, Johnny

Home Depot Vision grill

Ordered a grill that was to be delivered by the 14th of August. Never showed up and HD has no info on who is delivering or when or if it will arrive. Manager said they authorized a new grill to be sent out and if other shows Id just have 2. Then was told oh that can't be done . First and last time I order homedepot.com why promise a delivery just to find out they don't know who sends stuff out. Wouldn't have as much of a problem if the grill wasn't over 600 and was for a birthday present

Home Depot Online ordering

This morning I ordered drywall from the Home Depot neatest my house( 30 minutes away). For whatever reason they split my order to 2 different locations. I called the closer one to see why, and they couldn't say why because they had all the drywall I needed at that location. I was not about to drive across town to another Home Depot for the other half of my order. They said they can cancel that one and I would have to reorder, and I'd get my refund in 2 or 3 days. That is ridiculous. Why do I have to pay twice for something only to have them refund my money in a few days.

They need to have someone with the authority to transfer my payment to the one store so I can get what I ordered. They have serious issues that need to be addressed, and not put the onus on the consumer to jump through hoops because of their computer system.

Home Depot Unethical

I did an online order subtotalling $655. Added $79 for a scheduled delivery. But, in order for me to apply veterans discount, I had to order it "in-store" or curbside; only then could they apply discount.

Chat person was gracious enough to take my card and order items on my behalf. She changed the type of order at her end to "at store" vs delivery... Going through my order, she tallied a subtotal of $675... A $20 difference from what the website calculated automatically...

Thinking she used a hand held calculator, we went through stated prices line by line, and came up identical. Thinking now that the website showing me the "delivery" vs at store, I changed all my items to "at store" pickup... No difference.

My next step was to delete the $79 added to subtotal for delivery, and voila, the difference of $20 showed!

So, the customer takes the time — and gasoline — to drive to the store (rather than have it delivered), and gets charged $20 more just for showing up (and maybe $5 in gas, with an hour or two in time).

Home Depot Customer service

Just visited Home Depot in Matamoras and wanted to apply for a veteran discount, Since this was posted on the website I figured that Home Depot cares about Veterans."We're dedicated to giving back to those who have already given so much for our country, and with more than 35, 000 veteran associates, taking care of them is personal to us". Wow what a lie and to actually post a lie like that on the website for every Veteran to see. I attempted to present my DD-214 Military Discharge proof to the courtesy desk and was told without Veteran on the Drivers License to take a hike, plain and simple. Treated very rudely at the courtesy desk I was and I imaging the 2 girls at the service desk were trained well at treating customers rudely. Probably my fault for going to Home Depot in the first place and thinking I would be treated with respect (not) for a $2, 000 riding Lawn Mower instead of going to Lowes where all Veterans are and are thanked after every purchase. I doubt if anyone at Home Depot who reads this cares especially the Executives but I will bet any Veteran who reads this will. Veterans don't forget.

Home Depot Washing machine purchase and delivery

Buying an appliance? I'm an idiot, I guess. I bought a new LG washing machine at The Home Depot, Southlake, TX on 10 July 2020. Delivery scheduled for 04 August 2020 (delay due to Covid-19, of course). The delivery folks would not remove my old washer from its pedestal nor install the new washer on the old pedestal. The Southlake store says they told me this was the case when I bought the new machine. I guess I'm stupid, and so is my wife. We do not remember being told this, and it seems if I were told this, I probably would have done something about it at the time of purchase. Now, I've got a new washer on the floor and I've got to figure out how to get my existing pedestal underneath it.

Make sure, dear consumer, that when purchasing an appliance at The Home Depot that things like this are clear and you understand what's going to happen at delivery before you buy your appliance. If you don't, you're going to be stuck with resolving the problem yourself. You'll get no reasonable resolution from your friendly Home Depot folks.

Home Depot Appliances

We purchased several appliances from Home Depot in Easley, SC on 6/27/2020. GE Washer and dryer, Samsung over the range microwave, Samsung refrigerator, and a Samsung dishwasher. They told us they would be delivered on 8/4/20 due to availability. We accommodated our work schedules around this delivery date. We received a text message on 7/27/20 to be ready for delivery on 8/4/20. On the evening of 7/31/20 we received a call from a third party service stating that all of the appliances were not available and would not be delivered until 8/19/20. There was no explanation. We contacted Home Depot and they stated that they have no control over the vendors shipping dates. This is sub par business practice and several calls led to absolutely no one who could even explain the issue.
This led to us canceling our order. We will take our business elsewhere.

I had similar experiences - once the stove was delivered, it turned out that the stove was defective, but the third party vendor refused to take it back, and told me to take it to the local Home Depot for a replacement - like I could do that by myself. i contacted the corporate offices in Atlanta to get it resolved. Also avoid the "service contract" - Home Depot and the service providers usually do not respond when your product fails. I only buy now from Home Depot products that I can discard if they fail - like nails, screws, etc. Lowes and Ace Hardware are much more responsive.

Home Depot Veterans discount

Yesterday 7/29/2020 I went to home depot to purchase a needed lawnmower. I am a 100% disabled Veteran. I took My military id and also My DD214. I have purchased many times before at home depot and got a 10% discount except yesterday. I bought a Cub Cadet mower for over 3000.00 and the 10% discount would have saved Me 310.00. That would have helped Me alot. But they told Me they only give Veterans discounts on 4 holidays a year. I tried to show them My ID cards but they didn't even look at them. They just said no. Had I not needed a mower so bad I would have walked out the door. I know home depot owes Me nothing but since they had always given Me the discount I thought they would this time. So long story short home depot got 310 dollars from Me but I assure You You have made a Lowes customer out of Me. They at least give Me a 10% discount and all I have to do is show them My Lowes card. Even if I buy something online I automatically get the discount. Now in case You are wondering if I am mad at home depot the answer is not particually. I am mad at Myself for not leaving the store and going to Lowes but I won't make that mistake again .

We visited and made a purchase today (7/25/2021 El Paso, TX) . We have a Home Depot Credit, we have made several purchases as well before and have always received our Military discount. Today we were told we didn't qualify. Upon paying we provided my husband's VA ID for our military discount that we have received since we signed up for the Home Depot credit card . Regina immediately advised we did not qualify since my husband is not 100% disabled - how does she know our situation and what my husband's illness or what we are going through, she doesn't . The card is the same as on their laminated sheet that they have available . I advised her that we always get our discount. The cashier continued to state no you don't and if you have it was a mistake. She was very condescending and as I explained previous military discounts on previous purchases she just continued to state aha, aha, aha i get it but i can't. I asked for the Manager on duty and Luis finally came over to speak to us . I explained the issue all over again and advised my husband is a retired military veteran who served and we always get our military discount. He was the same way as the cashier. Same attitude. I asked him why we have received our discounts at this Home Depot and other Home Depots before and he stated well not sure but obviously it was a mistake and you shouldn't have received them. I asked him well can't you honor it and do the right thing? He advised " oh nooo I can't, I will get in trouble", I can't break the rules. Needless to say, I am so upset and disappointed. We still purchased $285.79 worth of merchandise. If it were up to myself I would have left the products there and gone to Lowe's instead where they do honor our Military Discount and care about any Veteran that has served their country. Due to my husband's condition again from when he served I could tell he was already getting stressed out. The sad part is that the cashier and the store manager really didn't care, nor did the two you cashiers that were there, they were smirking the entire time that i was speaking to the Manager. Regina left the scene quickly, like I said she didn't care.

Home Depot Two identical serta power lift recliners

HD customer care Kimberly told me that because the chairs motors had stopped working that someone would call and schedule a pickup and that when asked, I was assured that they would box up and remove them to a large truck and once returned our money would be refunded.
After many calls, learned the hard truth today. We are on our own and in order to receive a refund, we are to "find someone who can take the chairs apart and rebox them and drive them to the nearest HD store (approx 75 mi away) because HD will not provide the return any other way.

Ordered 2 identical power lift chairs online. Put them together and they worked fine with the help of neighbors as I am severely handicapped. I am 73 & my wife is 72. In the following week, both chairs stopped working . Made calls to the customer care number provided and was *assured 3 times in 3 calls that someone would call and schedule a pickup. Was also assured that someone would come inside the house and dis-assemble both chairs and box them then load them and we would be reimbursed .
Today, a lone UPS driver showed up with the return ticket and incredulously told us that the chairs were supposed to be in boxes. After he left, I made yet another call to HD only to be told that we would have to "find someone who could box them up and deliver them to the nearest HD store" (approx 75 mi away). I called the HD headquarters in Atlanta where I was given the same info. So, here we are with 2 lift chairs stuck in the recline position and NO HELP and NO REFUND. I feel like I am being unfairly treated because of my disability.
