We own 2 time shares in St. Martin. When we went to Mexico. Palace Resorts asked if we were interested in purchasing a timeshare. We stated we already owned 2 and were not interested in increasing our timeshares. Michael Cunningham, the Sales Manager of Palace Resorts, said that they work with a company called "Holiday Transfer Services" and they have been working with them for years. If we purchased a timeshare at the Palace Resort, we could use Holiday Transfer Services to complete an equity exchange for our present timeshares. The title would be transferred to Holiday and we would be free and clear.
We paid Holiday $1, 600 for this transfer ($800 for each week). We also paid the 2009 Maintenance fees since the transfer was within 90 days of our renewal. We signed and notorized the documents. Holiday was to send the documents to our timeshare (We have copies of all documents and cancelled checks). I checked with Holiday Transfer after I sent the checks and they said everything was ok and I needed to do nothing else.
This Spring, our timeshare sent us an email telling us we were late with our Maintenance fee and we said we did not own the timeshares anymore. We sent them a copy of the documents and they said that we still own the timeshares. After months, I contacted Shawn at Holiday, I left messages and they did not return my calls or emails. He said Palace took back our case. Our resort has turned us over to a bill collector. They want us to pay the 2010 fees plus penalties. So, Holiday took our $1, 600 and did nothing.

Finally after months of trying to contact Palace, we had a response from Palace and we are trying to work out the problem.

We too were ripped off by Holiday Transfer in Mexico! In addition to $5000, 00 we paid them, we lost our time share in Barbados. We were promised the discover your dream program but after many failed attempts to contact, we were told that the company no longer exists.

We've experienced the same problem with Holiday Transfer. We bought a timeshare in Mexico and traded our two timeshares for the down payment. Holiday Transfer sent us the documents to fill out in February 2008 and we returned them in a timely manner. We were also told not to worry, everything was taken care of. We kept getting past due bills for our taxes for the California timeshare. Out of frustration, we called the TV channel troubleshooter. After quite a few phone calls, the California timeshare was taken out of our names. Yesterday, 11/15, we just received a letter from a collection agency stating we owed two year's of maintenance fees for our former timeshare in Mexico. Holiday Transfer has not returned our calls. This was supposed to have been taken care of in 2008 also. We're at a loss what to do next, other than call the TV troubleshooter again!
