I decided to return a 1 week old gift card I purchased. I had my original receipt, the original gift card, and a valid drivers license as your return policy states.
The cashier who assisted me did not know how to process this type of transaction so she called the manager. The manager stated he wasn't sure how to do this, he left for about 1 minute and came back and said, "no I'm sorry gift cards are not refundable" I asked to see the policy on that because the only one I can see was on the back of my receipt and on the partition wall behind the cashier and neither one of them states anything on 'no returns on gift cards if you are the original purchaser'.
Nobody can show me the policy. How can the manager not know, then come back 1 minute later and be very sure you cannot. All the manager kept stating was that it was their policy by their corporate office.
This doesn't make any sense to me. Why is there not a written policy so the consumers can aware. This was only the second time I stepped into the Hobby Lobby, and I will be sure not to go back. My trip to make the return was a complete waste of time
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Gift cards are not refundable for cash, like the others I've never heard of anyone trying to return one anyway. Even if you use the card to make a purchase you don't get cash back for the balance of the value of the card. There is a reason that stores tend to use these things for store credit if you return something without a receipt, they don't lose out on the money because you don't get cash back.
i have never heard of anywhere returning a gift card...That is probably why you threw the employees off guard..because MOST people know gift cards are NON-REFUNDABLE. Plus its a law AND it IS written on Hobby Lobby's return policy that they "reserve the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of certain products and non-receipted items." and that includes gift cards. so stop whining when you should have thought it through to begin with. Its not Hobby Lobby's fault you are an idiot.
I have never heard anybody anywhere say that they were able to return a gift card. It's like a coupon once you buy it: NO CASH VALUE. Don't hold it against them, they are just doing their job. And a hard one at that, if customers like you are belligerent when they try to explain why they can't do something.
