Hobby Lobby Stores Wood letters and employee

Went to the cashier. She must have been in training. She had another associate there, this is not the first encounter I had the the RUDE EMPLOYEE NAME TAMMIE. This store is located in Phoenix, AZ (Ray Road). I tried to ask a question and before I can even finish she bouts out (That’s all we have, nothing in the back). The wood letters were damaged and scratched up. I made the purchase anyway to not hold up the line. I had two of the same letters and was charged two different prices. It was a $1.00 difference a big difference the way prices are going up. I asked what was the difference and she said the prices are going up. I wanted to return the items as it didn’t make any sense. Tammie decided to issue me ac.33 credit. I did not understand but just say thank you. She rolled her eyes and as I walked away it sounded like she had a smart to say about my return. This store is Terrible, not friendly, very rude. They need to replace employees or shut the store down.

Hobby Lobby Stores - Store management be held accountable for their actions

Hobby Lobby Stores Racist and entitled managers

I worked here for only a short time but it was extremely obvious that multiple managers are openly racist and prejudiced towards customers. If a black person walked into the store a security check would be called almost immediately. Same for anyone who looked slightly poor or homeless. This was not after suspicious behavior, it was based solely on appearance and skin color. The main manager is extremely rude to employees and customers and has had these same complaints filed against her (Sandra) multiple times.

Claimed loss: Was laid off seasonal without even a days notice. Coworkers who had worked there for over 3 years were laid off without three strikes and without any notice - for seemingly made up reasons.

Desired outcome: Find someone to run the store who isn’t openly racist, have required classes on how to treat customers and employees equally and with respect.

Hobby Lobby Stores Cashier

Hugo the cashier was extremely rude while checking me and my relatives out at the front of the store. We were adding a couple of items to our haul at the last minute, and he rolled his eyes and constantly checked his watch in an attempt to rush our decisions. To be completely honest, it made us feel extremely unwelcome in the store. I hope his behavior can be rectified in the future, because the attitude he presented was against what I and other Hobby Lobby customers believe your establishment stands for. Thank you for your time.

Claimed loss: None

Desired outcome: Better customer service

Hobby Lobby Stores - Racial harassment

I was browsing the store with a friend trying to decide what we were going to do for arts and crafts that evening when I noticed that I was being followed throughout the entire store. I wasn’t worried about being followed because I was not doing anything wrong. I had picked up several different projects and ended up placing them back on the shelves at...

Hobby Lobby Stores Rude employee

I was checking out when I heard a rude CSM correct a cashier in a rude way. I under if the cashier made a mistake but she didn’t have to be rude and condescending. Another incident happened with the same employee do the same thing to the same employee. The employee was helping me out for awhile because I needed several things. After the kind girl helped me out, the CSM whose name is Shawna (or Shauna) was extremely rude to her. I do not understand why this woman seems to be targeting this kind girl. She was just doing her job and helping me out. She hadn’t done anything wrong.

Desired outcome: I would like this woman named Shawna to get disciplined. This pattern of borderline targeting and harassment to this girl should not be tolerated.

Hobby Lobby Stores Rude cashier and manager

I had the worst experience at the Burlington Iowa Hobby Lobby on 9/11/23. I had a cart full of fall and Christmas decor. I had 2 balsa wooden airplanes in my cart. Unfortunately 1 was marked $3.99 but the other one did not have a sticker on it. The cashier asked a man (whom I assume was a manger) what the price was, then said $3.99? He said yes, $3.99. Near the end of a $327.40 sale, the “manager” said “ I just looked them up, they are $5.99. So the airplanes were changed to $5.99 a piece. I leave the store and start putting the bags in my car and pull out an airplane and right on it is a sticker with $3.99. I took my receipt and said airplanes back into the store we’re the manager proceeded to tell me that they must have raised the prices and hadn’t updated the stock. Then Lori T, the cashier accused me of putting the sticker on it, saying it wasn’t there before. I said, I am not a thief. She ignored me. I told her I didn’t want the airplanes, that I wasn’t a thief and wasn’t going to be accused of being a thief. She again ignored me. I just spent over $300 dollars in that store, why would I change the price of a wooden airplane? I would have picked a much more expensive item!

Desired outcome: This store clearly needs some reeducation of customer service skills.

I came to store to return some damaged items unfortunately I lost my receipt and the lady immediately mentioned they had cameras. I didn't appreciate the way she addressed the issue. She also did not listen to what I was trying to do which was return items and get something else. When I went to pay for my new items she made a big fuss about me paying with a large bill.

Employee name was donalyn

Desired outcome: Reprimand. Someone treating customers like that should not be in customer service

Hobby Lobby Stores Rude employee

Yesterday at 5:45 I attempted a return at the Santa Maria CA Hobby Lobby. I wanted to return three "Home Decor" (per my receipt) platters costing $1.99 each. I had purchased four on 7/14/23 and intended to serve snacks on them at my daughter's baby shower. Upon removing the sticker from one, I saw the notice "Not intended for food use." I planned to return the other three for a refund as I could not use any of them as intended and had no other use for them. Rather than tell me that these were nonreturnable, the salesgirl turned her back to me, summoned another employee, and whispered to her quietly so I could not hear the conversation. The young lady turned back to face me and said "these cannot be returned." I asked "why not?" and she said "it's against our policy." I said "There must be a reason it's against your policy" and she repeated, "It's against our policy", stared at me in a defiant manner and said nothing else. It was incredibly rude of her to whisper about my return request and then repeat in a robot-like manner, "It's against our policy." The second employee with whom she conferred had already hurried off so I could not ask her the reason the return was declined. Believe me, the plates were unused with full labels attached. Because other customers were waiting behind me in line and I didn't want to cause a scene, I exited the store. I will tell you, though, that I've never been treated so rudely and been so dismissed by a salesperson. I don't believe it's your company's intent to make customers uncomfortable. I assume you can figure out, without me telling you, how this situation should have been handled. It's not the $6.00 loss that bothers me, but the manner in which I was treated by your employee. There's only one check-out line in that store labeled to accept returns, so you can easily identify the employee who was working that line at 5:45 on 8/17/2023. Her rudeness needs to be addressed. I'm certain you don't care whether or not I shop at Hobby Lobby again as I'm only one lost customer, but I do hope you'll handle this complain appropriately as the employee at the store should have done.

Hobby Lobby Stores Management

My husband his grandmother and I went to Hobby Lobby in Moline, Illinois to look at a few things. In the discounted spot, there was teacher decor on sale for 66%. In that section, there were flexible seating for children. Granted this was in the discounted area and we assumed that would be on sale as well. I would like to let it be know that I am not one to complain, but have had SEVERAL negative interactions with this same man multiple visits. I have brushed it off giving him grace. As a teacher, you never know what’s going on in someone’s life and you should always be empathetic. At checkout, my husband asked the kind older lady checking us out if she could tell us how much the scoop rockers were. She told us that they were $9.99. He said politely, as he was in front of his grandmother, oh okay I was just wondering because they were in a discounted area. This man, who I assume is a manager, and I’m sorry for whoever works for him, butts in and interrupted the kind lady at the register. She was saying before rudely interrupted that even though they were in a discounted area, the our price was valid. We totally would’ve been fine with that response and would’ve even purchased the items making the store at least $60 more. The man said, “If you would’ve been smart enough to read the sign, you would’ve seen it not included”. Not only did I hang my mouth open, I was immediately disgusted and returned all items. This older man who must be a manger is about 6’ 1, has grey hair, and about 50-60 years old. He also has made remarks to my grandmother when she inquired about Christmas decorations. My very Christian grandmother was trying to ask the man when they started putting Christmas decorations out before Halloween. She was laughing and trying to help this man have a better day. He responded with, “ It’s been like this for years. If you haven’t noticed by now, we are a craft shop. It’s not my job to answer your questions.” This man is not a person I feel comfortable around. I ask that this man is reviewed and his boss is aware of his behavior. Even if you have a bad few days, this is no way to treat others.

Desired outcome: I would like to have him looked into and an apology. This man has been beyond disrespectful to many people I know.

Hobby Lobby Stores Extremely rude associate

The incident occurred on August 1st, 2023 at 5:15 pm at the Hobby Lobby in Roswell, NM. I needed some scrapbook pages and kindly told your associate excuse me so my husband and I could get by to look at the scrapbooking pages. Without saying a word she pulled her cart to the side rudely. I apologized for the inconvenience. My husband and I looked at each other wondering what we did wrong to upset her so much. As I was searching for a specific style page she left the isle. When I misplaced a sheet of paper she came back onto the isle, (as if she had been watching me) raised her voice and told me that she had been working on them all day and to put it back in the right place because she’s tired of doing over and over again. In order to keep the peace, and to not make myself look foolish as she had in front of other customers, I remained quiet as did my husband. I was totally humiliated! I had never experienced that kind of behavior in a store! Let alone Hobby Lobby where I shop at quite frequently. I did not have time to speak to the manager as my husband needed to get to work. I love the environment of my favorite store, but I would hate that kind of behavior to ruin the great reputation of your lovely store.

Desired outcome: I hope someone can speak to her about how her service to customers represent the store and that no one should be treated and humiliated that way for a simple mistake.

Hobby Lobby Stores Votive candles

While I think Hobby Lobby is a fantastic store, their votive candles are terrible. I have tried to burn them and them and if I'm lucky they might burn for 20 - 30 minutes. Candles from other stores last for hours. Since I don't have my receipts so I can't return them. I have 8 that I tried burning and 19 I've not used. They were costly and while they smell great a huge disappointment.

Desired outcome: Perhaps a refund or store credit.

Hobby Lobby Stores Misadveritise of your products

Me and my husband came in the store to buy numbers for our porch. The sign said forty percent off. Got to the registered and it was something different. The manager did not honour it for us. I even showed her the picture I took to show them that I wasn't lying. Again she didn't not honour the percent off. I truly know she could have. Me as a woman, if I see something I love to take a picture so therefore they can see for themselves that I wasn't lying about anything.

Desired outcome: The manager didn't honour it to us

Hobby Lobby Stores Coffee wounded warrior project

The local store manager at the Tulalip WA store thought this was a good idea... so I'm contacting you because everything must go through the coroprate office. We want to set up a small table to sell High Caliber Coffee, with sales going to support the Wounded Warrior Project. We are a WWP corporate sponsor. Alongside the coffee and WWP promotion, if desired it could be set up to promote Hobby Lobby credit cards, and we would offer a discount on the coffee for those who submitted applications. These are all promotional ideas, with the end goal of promoting and donating to the Wounded Warrior Project for those who severed with valour.

Hobby Lobby Stores Service

I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday April 18 around 6pm. I used the restroom 1st. I left my cellphone in the restroom accidentally. I shopped and was probably there for 30 min. After my purchase I realized that I left my phone. I went straight to the restroom and passed an employee in the cleaning closet next to the restroom. My phone was not there. I came out and asked did she find my phone. She said yes. She told me that she turned it into the front. She even pointed me to where I should go. Well the girl in the front who was sitting at the door looked it in a couple of drawers and said no it's not here. The woman from back all of a sudden started walking towards us with my phone in her hand. When I got outside my phone's screen was frozen and blinking. It is a new phone. I took it immediately to Metro PCs which is in front of Hobby Lobby. After a few minutes I was informed that the phone could not work because the side button is jammed. I was also informed that they couldn't repair it. I would have to take it to a different location. I went back into Hobby Lobby and spoke to a manager and after I explained the situation to her she responded to me with "Ok. What do you want us to do about it?" I said apparently someone was pushing that button the phone enough to jam it. Well another manager came. I wanted to know 1 st of all why wasn't my phone not turned in as soon as it was found. Is that not policy? 2nd why did she send me to retrieve from the front when she still had it. 3rd why didn't she give me the phone when I asked her about the 1st. time. The employee was called to the front and the conversation was totally in Spanish. I ended up saying that I had no clue as to what she was saying. Bottom line her explanation is that a customer gave it to her. I am going back to my original question. If the customer gave it to you why didn't you turn it in to customer service. What is the policy and why the wild goose chance? I returned my purchase only after the manager ended up telling me that her English is not good and she doesn't understand what I am saying. The manager. My name and number was given to them so the store manager could call me. Well if he did call I couldn't receive it because I went the whole day within a phone. I took the phone to be repaired and was informed that the button had to be pushed and pushed and pressed down on so hard that it ended up pushed inside the phone. He said it usually happens when a person is trying to turn the phone off and doesn't know how. The button had to be jammed hard. Now if the customer that gave her the phone and had intentions on keeping it why did she turn it in? I was loud talked. I had a cashier who integrated herself in the conversation. Do you train employees to treat a customer in this manner? Hobby Lobby on Kendall Drive and 138th Ave Miami Fl should go back through customer service training starting with the managers. It should have been a written complaint filed just for this purpose. For me not to file a complaint to corporate. Gave a torn piece of paper towel to write my name on

Hobby Lobby Stores Cashier customer service

First, I would like to make you aware; I shop Hobby Lobby because I absolutely love it. I get treated so well/courteous by all the employees at this location. I shop Hobby Lobby at least 8-10 times a month; dedicated shopper. I was at the La Quinta Hobby Lobby Store# 627 this afternoon 04/19/23 @ approx. 2:30pm. I had a cashier by the name of Patricia C. I watched her from where I was standing in line by the registers. She was standing behind her register not doing anything, She did not offer to assist me. I thought this was rude of her. She caught me staring at her for some time, she could tell by the look on my face I wasn't happy. She finally called me over and her demeanor said it all. She acted as if I was a bother to her. She was leaning at the register using only one hand to do things, I even thought there was something wrong with her other hand. She was moving very slowly as if she did not want to serve me; bothersome is the way she treated me. She did not greet me. I questioned a sale price & she responded with attitude. There was no reason for her to behave the way she did. All she had to say was "the price is more because you got quantity of 2 instead of the 1". She was very unhappy & unprofessional. She made me feel so uncomfortable; my feelings were hurt. I've never been treated so badly in any Hobby Lobby.

Desired outcome: Reprimand--company protocol
