We don't know much about how H-E-B handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. H-E-B 100% pine apple juice

I purchased this pineapple juice on July 17th, 2021 at the location in Ennis, Texas. On August 14th I found what looks to be a tape worm! I am completely disgusted and concerned. My 3 year old and I have had nausea and vomiting since drinking the juice. Things could have been so much worse my daughter could have choked on it, or we could have gotten an infection/the worm burrowing in. Thankfully that didn't happen but I am sure you can still understand how it affected me. I would like to know what HEB plans on doing about this as I am hesitant to do business here again.

Desired outcome: I will allow HEB to do the right thing and provide a suitable outcome that is reasonable to all parties.

H-E-B My Pillow

I've been shopping at H-E-B for ever and I am very disappointed to learn that My Pillow was dropped. This doesn't make any sense to me that this could happen. H-E-B Front line Manager Randall at HEB 2009 and I 35 in Schertz, Texas

I went shopping at the store and I was in the candy department and was going to get some candy from the self-help container department. Randell was cleaning up the candy that fell in the tray. He saw me standing next to him and he just continued to pick up jellies. After a couple of minutes he finally acknowledged me and said in a rude tone can I help you. Just the look he gave me and the tone I said forget it. Instead of him trying to apologize or to change his tone he went on working. I walked away and decided I did not need to spend my money I just left the store. Decided to go to Walmart and even though they did not have all of the things I needed. Before I left I did go to customer service and the young lady was very nice and I explain what happened. She offered to call another manager and told her no need that I would just leave. Told her I am sure another Manager would just cover up for Randall. When people are needing jobs, you have Randall treating people rude because of his title is not necessary. If Randall did not want to clean up the candy aisle I am sure he could have told one of the other employees to do it. No need for rudeness.

Desired outcome: To be written up because he would like for one of his family members to be treated that way

H-E-B Pharmacist

The Pharmacist gave covid vaccine to a white customer and sent out a tech to administer to two black customer waiting. Pharmacist not only gave the shot but also sat down and chatted with the white customer for several minutes. When white customer finally left and the younger black customer got up to enter, the pharmacist held up a finger and said one moment, turned to go behind the workstation, then tech came out to call in one of the black customer waiting. It did not take five minutes for tech to give both black customers the vaccine. When questioning the tech on where the pharmacist was, the answer given was that she had been on the phone and usually is the one that gives the shot and that the pharmacist only came out to help. This location was not busy, nor was there any customers waiting beside ourselves. In fact we could overhear the white customer stating she was late arriving to a schedule appointment for her second shot. I let the tech know I felt the pharmacist was rude in giving one and not the other the vaccine. Her actions clearly showed she did not want to have a hand in giving blacks service to the vaccine. We have to go back for the second doses and feel very anxious at this time in how the second shot will be handle. Can we trust that we will be administered the right vaccine at the right temperature, not something that is setting out on the shelf? Will we be treated as all customer are treated? Will submitting our experience to you hinder the fairness of customer service we were entitled? At this point we know that it will be their word, pharmacist and tech, against ours. We just wanted to let you know what happened and how we are dreading going back in July to complete the second vaccination. We want to be done as soon as possible with this ordeal. We weren't being over sensitive, every other person within the pharmacy counter was polite and customer friendly. The tech did offer us to speak with the pharmacist but I told her it was clear she did not want to be involved with us so I did not see it necessary to speak with her. A message was left on my voice mail from your automatic system asking how was my visit and hope that I would visit your pharmacy again. The experience left me doubtful.

Desired outcome: expect to be treated fairly & humanly as possible. expected pharmacist to administered vaccination, not a tech in training. If tech is the one that gives the vaccine, then it should have been given in that manner to all.

H-E-B Rude employee

On June 8 at about 4:00 I went to the the HEB on 641 E. Hopkins in San Marcos TX 78666 after work. I had 60 dollars of groceries. Everyone was professional and nice. The young man packed my groceries and put them in my cart. I left to go home to Canyon Lake. Which is a least a 30 min drive. When making dinner I noticed I was missing several items, I called the store and spoke to a lady who verified that the young man had forgotten 1 bag of my groceries. No big deal I will get it later. I was near the smaller HEB the very next day the in the afternoon in San Marcos it was not the same one I went to but I did have my receipt. I gathered the items I was missing and proceeded to the check out. I explained to checker what happened and she left and got someone else. There was one item that the smaller HEB didn't have so I said hey can you credit me 1 dollar for the corn tortillas yall do not have, she said no it wasn't there fault. I said I know that but its the same company and its only a dollar. She kept talking back and I my temper rose and told her she had no respect and terrible customer service. I have never had an experience like this ever. I proceeded to pay for other items and left.

Desired outcome: This employee needs to be retrained, and a gift certificate would be nice for my troubles, thank you

H-E-B My complaint consist of racial discrimination, and wrongful termination

I believe that I have been treated fairly harshly than other partners. When I am ask to do a specific job, it is always in an harsh, and agressive way. I have also been indirectly discriminated, when i'm shopping in the store, i'm being looked upon, as a shop lifter, on every isle, I walk the isle, there is torri, I have also had to report torri to the hr department also. When we actually moved into the store, the acting manager asked me to perform a duty, as I was performing the duty, the manager, was saying to me at a boy, at a boy, they transferred him, and didn't accept my letter of complaint. I have been victimized, because of a complaint of race related discrimination, the seafood manager told me that if I did not go back to the seafood,! While I was cleaning the ice machine, for the u.D.! He was going to walk my [censored] up stairs, and write my [censored] ul for insubordination. At that point I quit, unemployment investigated, and found that I had been harrassed, and they gave my unemployment. I was tired of looking for another job, and so I reapplied, they hired me back, everything was ok, until, time had expired for me to charge a discrimination complaint. I was wrongfully charged with a no call no show. Of which when I tried to look at my schedule, I did not have a schedule, the manager usaually have the schedules on a thursday every week, but I did not see a schedule for me, so I just thought that I wasn't schedule for that week, as I have had no schedule in the pass, the next week schedule, I had a schedule, and I saw the schedule previously, and I saw that I had a one day schedule, of which that was the week of the no show I spoke with the u.D. And she told me, that from now on, check the schedule on fridays.

I actually started with h.e.b. in the year 2013, at the o.s.t.& scott store. I worked at that store for 6 years, while working at the store, I had a confrontation with the seafood manager, she walked me into the cooler, and started ranting and raving at me, cursing, spitting in my face, and she had a cup of coffee, and she threw it up against the wall, I made a report to the h.r. office, she was consequently fired, . I applied to sorms, the class to be a seafood mgr, I was denied progress, to be a manager, the unit director of the store did not sign off for me, to start my classes, reason being is that he thought that I had went over his head, when I contacted h.r. I then transferred, to a store to become a full time partner. I transferred to the Magnolia store, to the seafood dept. The manager their had this great big habit of calling me a boy, he never called the caucasian, or Latino a boy, I got tired of it, and I transferred back to the o.s.t and Scott store. Eventually I ended up transferring to one of the other store, where we were celebrating Christmas, and a M.I.C. had an out fit on, with a little monkey on it, and he said Peyton, look at me, I'm celebrating Christmas with your lil brother on my chest, I reported him to human resources dept, no not long after the unit Director, called me a boy, I shuned it off, until she found me later, and told me that the reason she called me a boy, because I look young. I reported her to human resources, I was treated with a lot of pressure from all of the other managers, I was cleaning the ice machine, and the manager, came and told me, that if I didn't get my [censored] back to the seafood dept, that he was going to walk my [censored] upstairs, and write my [censored] up for INSUBORDINATION, and he said, you people just don't listen. At that point I quit, I applied for unemployment, and they INVESTIGATED, and they deemed, that I was harrass on the job, and allowed me my unemployment . I applied, 3 months later, and they actually hired me back, I could have brought charges against h.e.b, which everyone was telling me to do, even other managers, but I didn't go through with it, I help open the Washington heights store, when they hired me back, everything was pretty good, every body was so nice, but as soon as the statue was up for me to file charges, they all changed, MANAGERS stopped speaking, giving me bad looks, I was told to do things very AGGRESSIVELY, I COMPLAINED to h.r., and that really did it, I had to stay home from work, because of talking the covic test, they was not supposed to hold those absences against me because of that. However, they had it marked down in the booklet, I am currently under doctors care, and I had been written up for the ABSENCES, for which I messaged the manager the doctor's orders, and I asked him, did I need to bring it into the office, he said no, just bring it when you come to work, as I got to work, and to file a FMLA, I was called to the office, to sign for the absences, and then told me that I was terminated, I feel as though I have been retaliated AGAINST, and discriminated against, to the point where they would alter my ATTENDENCE SHEET. And they terminated me.

H-E-B Customer Service

Dear Complaint Department,

I got out of Customer Service 6 years ago, after 35 years of Customer Service/Assistant Management Positions, choosing not to further in full-time Management.
I noticed in the store that I regularly shop, 11100 Leopard Corpus Christi, Tx 78410, particularly today, that the Cashier had to sack his Check & Sack groceries for 3 customers that were ahead of me. We it came to me, I had to help him sack my groceries!
There were too many "Chiefs" walking around, obviously wanted to look important, that they couldn't assist Cashiers. I seen one "Chief" that held a lengthy conversation with employee/customer in front of the Cashier's check stand. I noticed several "Female Chiefs" walking around! I noticed a Employee that monitored the self check-out stands, changing small trash cans, next to the Youngman that was Checking me out, and in my opinion, that could have waited. In spite of it all, the Cashier maintained a "steady-flow" scanning the customers through!
In my Customer Service experience, it was more important to move the lines and get the customers through, in a timely manner, while maybe one of the "Chiefs" could have assist with sacking customers groceries.
As an Assistant Manager, I ALWAYS demonstrated that I wasn't TOO good to do the work, even when it came down to cleaning restrooms, swept outside, etc.
This saddens me, because of certain people that are put in a higher position, that their heads are so elevated, that they can't see the Forrest because of the Trees. Taking the initiative of seeing that the Customers are first!

H-E-B Car wash scratched my car

I went through the car wash at an H-E-B gas station and when I was done I parked so that I can hand dry my car and noticed scratches around the car that were not there before. These are very light scratches, maybe most of them can be buffed out they look really tacky and I am very disappointed. The car was mostly clean and shiny but now I have scratches all around. I can hardly see the ones in the back in the pictures due to the glare

Desired outcome: Refund and pay to try to buff out these scratches

H-E-B Social/Political issues

As life long customers of H‑E‑B, we were very disappointed by a recent shopping trip to our H‑E‑B in Copperas Cove, TX. The staff there were wearing t-shirts with the statement "be the change". We found this to be very unprofessional, and inappropriate for a store to have personal opinions put upon customers in this way. Without knowing the stance of each and every customer that walks through your door, you are forcing these opinions upon them. We go to the store to purchase the products we need, and not to have to stores inform us on anything social or political. There is enough tension and divisions in this country as it is, and we can turn on the news when we want to hear about these issues, not when we are buying our groceries. It's not necessary for H‑E‑B to try to educate consumers in this way, but rather to sells us the products we use. Please stick to what H‑E‑B is for...selling groceries, and leave the rest to the news. If this policy continues, we will take our business elsewhere.

Desired outcome: Leave social issues and political opinions out of the H‑E‑B stores.

H-E-B Bagging my own groceries

Hello, My name is Michael Molina and i am an avid H.E.B. Shopper and customer. The reason I am contacting you is because every week I go and shop at my neighborhood store were I live and every week I have to Bag my own Groceries! I am 63 years old retired from a health care facility. I was a Supply Chain Supervisor and Also provided Customer Service. I would not be complaining if this happened every so often, but this is on going and I feel that If I am Paying for my groceries then I should have someone bag them for me. Today I went to the H.E.B. #25 at 7951 Guilbeau Rd. San Antonio Texas. I was in the line that had a bagger and when I got within one customer of the register, he decided to move to the next lane. This happens everytime that i shop at this HEB. Wen I got home I called the HEB store and asked to talk to a manager, and I was connected to Sarah the front end Manager and I told her what had happen and all i got was " I am sorry for what happen ". I told her that today was the last time that I would shop at that store and she said, " that she understood". I was really upset, and I told her thank you! and hung up! I spend from $85 to $100 every week there, but I am not going back to that store to shop ever again!

Desired outcome: I think that Since I have been Bagging my Groceries I should get a Refund of the amount i spend today $96.17

H-E-B Pulling My Pillow

Very Disappointed in HEB for pulling its My Pillow political stunt. Trying to punish someone because of their political beliefs is sick. A pillow doesn't have anything to do with politics. Kroger is now my only source of groceries; I will no longer be supporting HEB. Kroger has always been an amazing store and supports people's freedoms, so that is the store that I will be supporting.

H-E-B Continued requiring your customers to wear a face mask.

This is the 3rd. Time that i've submitted a complaint about your stores requiring customers to wear a face muzzle/face mask. There are many, many reports that have been published by cdc and many medical professionals that supports the fact that face masks does not prevent viruses. And yet your management refuses to acknowledge those facts and continue to require your customers to wear a face mask. Why?!?! Also, "forcing" that is unconstitutional. I've shopped at your stores for 40+ years but because of your tyrannical requirements I will shop elsewhere. Stores that are "face friendly", and appreciates their customers that help pay for their salary!

I have to agree with the above complaint. Every bit of it is caused by corporations who blindly comply with government policies that don't truly follow the science. Masks are more detrimental to a person's health than the disease people are trying to avoid. I see more and more cases of. Pneumonia and strep throat than I've seen or heard of in a while. Best way not to get anything is clean hands after being somewhere. And getting vitamin c and D. So stop making us look like we all live in communist chine where they force people to bend the will. Time to unmask and go back to normal. As well known as the CDC saying masks don't help. Why not listen. Half the Drs conflict with what these politicians and their paid cronies are saying. Thank you for checking out all the truth. Not just what the government tries to force on us. In Texas the mask mandate has ended. Buck up and remember the Alamo. Live like a brave Texan, not a snowflake that melts at the first sign of trouble.

H-E-B Car wash

The car wash at the HEB near Hwy 90 & Hwy 6 in Sugar Land, TX should be condemned. I have seen it being worked on so many times and I thought they would have gotten it straightened out by now, but after today they obviously haven't. My car has not been washed anywhere in several months and I finally decided today that I would. My car has been even more dirty in the past and the last time I used this car wash it did its job. I used it today and I think the underside of my car got a better wash than the whole car itself. My car was pretty dirty, but not as bad as it's been before and it should have gotten it cleaned. Instead, it didn't wash all the soap off of my car and it left it streaked with dirt. I have had a better wash for less and to pay $12.99 for the whole package at the pump only for it to do THAT was a complete waste of money. I drove out of there and had to go park, get towels and try to wipe off the dirt streaks and wipe off the remainder of soap that hung around after a really brief rinse. Furthermore, I will never use this car wash again, no matter how many times I see them work on it and I hope nobody else uses this either or they will be severely disappointed as well.

Desired outcome: Please send a professional to work on this so others don't get ripped off or have it shut down so no one else loses out on a money pit.

H-E-B Lack of friendliness and concern

There are no specific incidents t but I go to several HEBS in my neighborhood in Corpus Christi, Tx. They are all friendly and the customer service is good. But at 4320 S. Alameda at Robert they are NOT. I don't know if it is management or what. The employees never hardly smile. And a grocery bagger will start loading your groceries and then run off to do something else leaving you to do it yourself. I just assume do it myself if the bagger can not do his job. The other HEBS I go too do not do this. If they bag your groceries they should finish it.
The problem is this HEB has more items I prefer but because of their lack of good customer service I feel I can't shop there. The HEB at 3133 S. Alameda is GREAT and they are friendly and care. I will shop there.
Thanks for listening and I hope that HEB headquarters can find out why moral is so low at 4320 S. Alameda.

H-E-B Roofing in heb bathroom fell on top of head and shoulder

Was in the bathroom at HEB at Parmer/Mopac using the restroom sitting on toilet and a large part of the roofing fell from the ceiling and fell on top of my head and shoulder leaving a cut on my shoulder.
I told management and there was nothing they could nor would do anything about it.
They filed no report.

H-E-B Cancel culture

I am truly disappointed in HEB with their stance on all the current cancel culture ideologies. First, you ban "My pillow" because he supports Trump. You have signs posted in your store regarding a "black owned business." That is racist! Lastly, you are selling water at $6.00 a 24-pack during the snow storm. You are a Texas company! I love HEB and I am so disappointed. I quit shopping Walmart and now I have to stop HEB. Where do we shop? I suggest you get off the cancel culture train and get back to the HEB we love in Texas, or move your stores to New York where they are told how to think.

H-E-B Services

Your Saratoga plus Store in Corpus Christi is a complete disaster. Shelves have never been fully stocked since Louis Whetstone left as GM. A quarter of the store is now a toy section, plants improperly displayed on entrance instead of curbside and the floral department. Personal shoppers run over regular customers with their trolleys, half the time if you can locate an employee to ask a question, you are told to add the app to your phone and look it up or they glare at you and respond with very little interest. Most items are now HEB house brand with major brands becoming thinner all the time. New management has not kept the store stocked appropriately including the freezer area since Louis retired. If you are going to monopolize the market, make sure you have something for everyone. I am fed up with employees suggesting I go to the other side of town to find an item when my neighborhood abuts this store.
Two weeks since the freeze and we still are not completely stocked. You are a fail!

H-E-B Hill Country Fare Spices

I usually purchase HEB or HCF products as i feel that they are equal to any national brand. I purchased HCF black ground pepper and when i went to add the pepper to my cooking the shaker top came off and out came the pepper along with the lid. Needless to say that my dish was ruined and i had to throw it out and starting all over again. Then i purchased garlic powder some time later and the exact same thing happened and once again had to throw it out. We are people that live basically check to check and save in any way we can. Having to throw the whole dish out just hurt my wallet and not to mention made my meal be late. Thank You for reading my email. Please let me know what i can do to prevent my unnecessary waste of food and time.

H-E-B Playing politics with My Pillow

I have just informed my very large extended family across Texas that HEB has dropped My Pillow. This is an obvious political decision. So, we have made a decision too. Our massive Baylor University contingent will boycott HEB after being customers beginning with the little HEB just off BU campus in the late 70s. You should be ashamed of your decision, but knowing how board room decisions go, you have considered the plusses and minuses. Here is one more minus...

H-E-B Dropping my pillow

I recently moved back to central Texas after living in Arizona for 20 years. It was exciting to see how HEB grew to dominate the grocery business in the Austin area during my absence. That feeling was immediately halted upon learning that HEB has taken a political stance against My Pillow products. Shame on you HEB! Stay in your wheelhouse and sell quality products to hardworking Texans! I'm done w/HEB - I'll drive 30 plus minutes to shop anywhere else. Get off the high horse - it's disgusting!
