Thanks for your response. I hope it is in good condition? and there wont be any cause of disappointment if i purchase it from you? I want to buy it for my dad as a birthday gift and I am ready to pay the asking price. I'm an Ocean Engineer and am currently on sea right now which is strictly no calls.My Mode of payment is PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my PayPal account. I opened a new gumtree account and listed several items. Nothing contentious but just ordinary items I am trying to sell after having a good clear out at home. A few old watches, motorbike gear, kids bike etc. luckily I didn’t pay to upgrade any of them. I instantly got emails saying they had been listed. When I tried to view my ads they had been removed within 15 mins or so. I asked live chat would confirmed they would review and email me. I chased again the next day as I’d heard nothing. Later I got two emails, one confirming they had been taken down but not telling me why, the second stating a similar thing. This time though they confirmed I had breached something, but wouldn’t tell me what and also, wait for it….suggested I advertise elsewhere ! Gumtree, really? Don’t you make your money by people like me joining and advertising items for sale? I am still bemused why my ads have been removed after looking at them again and you have offered me nothing to explain why. I will never use your service again to either buy or sell, in fact I will do everything I can on social media to let all my contacts and contacts of contacts, know how rubbish your service is. If this is how you treat people who support your business then I really hope you aren’t around long and that your competitors put you out of business. Fond regards, David.



You treated my terribly only finally made it so I could access the ad when I had demanded a refund paid £10 for wasting lots of my time and no actual help selling the cats - not fit for purpose felt I don’t want others to go through this - refund me as it would be the right thing to do if you are a company with ethics or the review will stay live !

Good day it's Zizipho I sold a wedding dress online to a lady names Anna Karim she introduced me to PayPal and she said that she would send a private courier to fetch the dress, but before she does she wants me to send the courier people $40 for delivery via e wallet I agreed and sent it, when they received it they said I should wait 2-3 hours before the money reflects, after the 3 hours Anna requested $30 on top for the insurance fee that's when I decided no this is fraud, the courier company is, global express their contact no are+[protected]

I hired someone on Sunday 11th of September because I needed to reseal my bathroom. The guy who came did a very bad job. At first in the phone he told me that it will be £90 for the service. When he arrived at the house and looked at the bathroom he said that it will be in fact £225 as it was worse than it thought. I said ok as I don’t know nothing about bathroom and it was urgent. He finished the job in 30min but it was very bad. I also have to paid £75 as he said that because it was Sunday needed to pay the fees. When I complain to the person he told me that it was It looks a lot better then it was and what was my problem.

I put up two adverts to sell my puppies and paid for them. They were taken down, no explanation given. Did live chat, who refused to tell me why the ads were removed and ended the call abruptly. These ads have been accepted on other sites and I've looked through the rules and can't see any reason for them to have been removed. Ads are genuine. I want a refund immediately.

My ads keep getting removed. I am unable to contact Gumtree to find out why. I have checked terms and conditions and understand on 1 as it was live chickens but the others I am really disappointed. I have an iPad for sale and a room to rent and both have been removed. I have tried to get updates but your online interaction is always unavailable. I have always thought Gumtree to be better than eBay but my opinion is changing.

My ad was accepted, but then the next day l paid to get it promoted and it was then removed.

I received an email to thank me for my payment and for posting my ad on gumtree. No email stating that it was removed, including checking my junk / trash folders. I only knew it was removed by just doing a search for it on gumtree and then in my account

Also no easy way of contacting gumtree

Disappointing that I have to make a formal complaint, as it is so difficult to even access your online chat

We answered a job add from Joel Worden via Gumtree to complete some plaster work at our house. (invoice attached). He met us at site and confirmed he would be able to do the job. We paid him a deposit of $890 (attached) and arranged a time for him to complete the work. He never showed and continued to messed us around for over 2 weeks before Joel txt us to say he wouldn't be able to do the work. It has now been 3 weeks and Joel has not refunded us our deposit of $890. He has told me numerous times he would pay us by a certain date and the money never got refunded. He now won't reply to my txt messages which makes me believe he isn't planning to refund us the money. He has since taken his add down from Gumtree. Regards Amelia

I am very suspicious of the response I get from gumtree when I try to view adverts that I post.

I am given a message thanking me for posting the advert but then when I try to view it , as a potential customer would view it, I get the following message:

"Sorry, the ad you are looking for is no longer available. Please see similar ads below."

This makes no sense to me.

I wanted to contact you to check if there's any procedure when sold a faulty item. I understand that when buying from Gumtree, we had to pay the seller as soon as the item arrived which didn't give any time to check the item over. We bought a dishwasher from a seller on Gumtree and it is completely faulty. We had to have our dishwasher engineer come to look at it and he said that he would've paid someone to take it away, definitely wouldn't have bought it. We've had to pay him a lot to fix what he can but the dishwasher is not up to standard at all and we currently have a pump hanging in our sink because it doesn't drain properly.

Is there anything we can do in this situation?

Turned up 2 pick up a washing machine was not told we had to dissconect it when we got it back it was filthy dirty inside I had 2 buye mould remover and a dishwasher descale if I had bn told I had 2 disconnect from the main water supply and drain the machine I wldnt have bothered but I did ore fool me wil never my frm this woman again I hope she doesn't sell anymore on gumtree many thanks

My Business account with Gumtree is in a total mess and gumtree and my account managers have totally let me down

I have 700 veiws to date 29/05/2020 on my jewellery items for sale on the gumtree site. I have no messages from any interested buyers due to my messages being managed by gumtree in favour of their parent company ebay with a conflict of interest on the items I have for sale. Gumtree is free where ebay has selling fees and item lodging fees. I have eight years knowledge of how gumtree worked as they had policy and procedures you had to adhere to in order to use or be included on their site as a classified ads operator with terms and conditions. Now gone. Gumtree now contral all communications and users of this site. That changes the law on them managing products for sale and by who. No longer classified ads. It stinks of corruption of a conflict of interest by the the company owners

I will send a copy of this complaint to my mp and request they take it up with the relevent minister. Its an abuse of the duty of care companies have when dealing with the public.

Room for rent advertised in gumtree oxford, Headington.

I paid £350 for 3 weeks on 9th May 2022

She cancelled rent for some reason.

She refund me back £200 at 12th of May and she promised to pay the rest of money very soon but till now she didn't.

I have all evidence with me.

I put an advert on Gumtree for renting my house in Kalk Bay.

I paid R350 for extra advertising.

Gumtree has removed my advert for no reason.

They have not contacted me to explain why or bothered to send an email.

This is beyond ridiculous.

Please will you assist me.
