Green Dot Green Dot Gift Card

I bought a $500.00 green dot gift card at the Hiram, Georgia Walmart store on 3 January 2022 and took it home and tried to use it on the Amazon site and it would let me charge it although I showed what I had on the card. It would even let me register it, which I tried first of all. I immediate called the number on the back of the card and the guy on the phone said he will close the card and send a refund in the mail within 2 weeks. I never received it so I called back and talked to another person (a female) which gave me an email address and told me to put the case number in the subject box and I will receive it in 2 weeks again, but still no refund. I have called 6 times and was still told I would receive a check and I needed to put a case number in. It was always a different one and I would alway have to send a copy of the receipt and a copy of the front and back of the card. 3 times I was told they had the wrong address and the wrong name or any other type of excuse. I just talked to some 2 weeks ago and he tried to cross talk and dismiss me and said it would be two weeks also. All i want is my money back because I don’t have it to give y’all. I know you not hurting on money, so why is it so hard to get my money and all theses other people money back. The customer service number is just there because they aren’t for the customer. Do the right thing

Green Dot Prepaid debit card

You are withholding my autistic sons S.S.. I. Payment from him. I get him they card to try to teach him how to be financially responsible as soon as he accepted the 2nd part of his money and put it in vault for safe keeping you blocked his account, and if that was not bad enough you tricked him too. As soon as he locked his card you made sure he could not unlock it. He has never had a state I'D. So first we sent you a copy of his social security card, his medicaid card, and official letter from the social security office,& of course a copy of his personalized pay as you go Green dot card; (front and back; which was purchased at Dollar General because he is terrified of big crowded places);, but no that still was not good enough for GreenDot. So, I then narrowed the money to overnight his certified birth certificate, because before living in area code 35601 and before that 35603 we lived in this birth state TN. So I then resent all info only this time included certified birth certificate. Not even the courthouse here in AL nor in TN requires more than 3 forms of I'd ; which are s s card certified birth certificate and eithermedicaide card or the letter from the s s office was the third, not both just one or the other. So, AL is the first state I have lived in who gives you a paper ID, but it is legal for 30 days, they say 5 to 10 days for hard copy comes in mail, but gives the extra time encase of unforeseen mail problems. I told them why he needed it because they asked, and. They said'well this should clear it up.' I get home take quick pics of front & back send to [protected]@greendotcorp only to be told they were not goodenough, that alabamas i'd. Was not good enough. That I had xeroxed the state I d when I had done no such thing! So next day icalled & I am sorry for loosing my temper and should not have cursed tha poor simple minded employee out but do not much like how your app lies and definetly do not like being treated like a criminal; especially when I am in the right and greendot corp. Is the one in the wrong. I am not talking one or two hundred but$847.00 and so much cents. I would perfer not to have to sue greendot for my sons mony and all the damage to our reputaion and all the hurt this has caused, but when we get his hard copy in the mail and send copy if that does not solve it then well I have documented everything and yes any mean things I wrote or said to so you will one way or another due right by my baby boy and yes I know he is grown, but I am his mother & he will always be my baby boy. So, no I will not be removing mine or his feedback

I am about to be homeless because of green dot to is illegal to with hold someone federal ssi disability funds, but I guess green dot is above the law

Green Dot I file a dispute over and over

I filed dispute over and over I sent in my documentations to Green Dot I sent my police report number in I send my identity theft papers and I sent when I was in the hospital papers in including a letter of dispute every time I call and want to know about my dispute they keep saying I'm denied last time it was for transactions I put the dispute back in this time it say off the right transaction which I never authorized nothing I sent my identity their paper and stating somebody stole my wallet stole my identity and use my card I keep getting run around at the runarounds when I talk to the operator like day is not doing a job and when I call back they hang up the phone and keep playing games I really need this exhaust ASAP they gave me a claim number and my new claim number is [protected] gave me about four more claim numbers which I know that they wasn't doing a job correctly the other claim numbers are [protected] the other claim number is [protected] the other claim number that they have gave me [protected] the other claim number [protected] I keep getting run around about them give me my money my dispute was for 11,618

Green Dot Green Dot opens your wallet to criminals

$800 dollar theft - No real fraud protection:

Green dot let someone else (cardskimmer) withdrawal money from my account, I created a dispute claim # [protected] and it was closed and rejected because "there was no error" before I could even send them any documents like my police report number # 2022-[protected].

They sent me a new debit card to use, like this can't happen again and again and again.

How can anyone trust Green Dot bank, in this new age of cyber security they open up your wallet to criminals.

You should run, not walk away from this bank.

Green Dot Green Dot Card, never cashed out, want my investment back

I have been trying to get a hold of them for two years.

I got a card to pay an overdue utility while I was traveling for work.

I was asked to scratch the number and the number was corrupted by scratching it. The label was very dry. I have tried at least 10 times through emails, calls etc. to talk to anyone. Nope.

They have robbed me of 330.00

Receive my tax money they put a lock on it, and I can’t get any help please help. I received my tax money on 16 March. 2022. I haven’t got any answers to resolving this problem. I use the sun feature to send money for my rent. And it blocked my account. I have a lot of money sitting in my account. I have turned in every possible thing that can prove my identity. License Social Security card birth certificate mail everything. The only answer I can get is that I need to contact the IRS to take the money back out. But there’s a problem with that because they allowed the $2000 that I sent out of my account even though they said it was being fraud it. What am I to do? Do I need to get a recovery lawyer? I haven’t heard from them, nothing is changed, I already waited months for my tax money. And now I’m continuing to wait for this issue to be resolved from GreenDot. I can’t get anybody to make any sense of why they would hold this account. I’ve called every number I’ve spoke to every department. And they have every bit of information that they would need. What am I to do? How will green dot resolve this? Who are they trying to protect? If this is protection that I get for having a secure card, then I am being penalized for having money in this card and using it and being a loyal customer for GreenDot. I need this resolved and I can’t find any solution

Desired outcome: GreenDot needs to contact me and allow my account to be unclosed. All the documentation needed has been sent to prove and verify myself.

Green Dot Greendot

On the 9th of March my greendot account was blocked due to unusual activity they asked me to send my ID or Driver license for identity verification to the email when i did that realized that my driver license was expired so what i did next was go down to the DMV and apply for a new one i then sent over my expired driver license and papee from DMV hoping it would help but unfortunately it didnt so i waited to receive my driver license in the mail and when i did i sent that over to the same email with the claim number i was given. When i called them to check on the status if my acount they informed me that there is know way the block can me lifted due to the back office denied my driver license and that i would have to call who ever issued the funds to mind you this money is my Tax refund now i called the IRS and i cant get a rep. On the phone this is very upset and uncalled for

Green Dot Unauthorized PayPal cash out at Walmart

I been dealing with this Unauthorized Transaction claim for AWHILE and I haven't not received no help or anything almost a year ago my wallet and my phone was STOLEN with my social security card and birth certificate and State ID and all my debit cards ETC and my phone had no lock and whoever stolen my wallet and phone has access to all my bank accounts all my apps on my phone , once I purchased a new phone I opened a dispute with PayPal for the Unauthorized transactions that was done less than a week a apart and I never received no update from PayPal so I contacted Walmart and they told me to go the Walmart the unauthorized Transactions happened at and show them the receipt of the Unauthorized withdrawn using PayPal cash out at Walmart and they should refund my monsy that wasn't true that left me at a dead end I keep filling complaints and nothing please help they have stolen more than $800.00 from me!

Green Dot Gift card

I purchased 3 gift cards from Walmart Store, 4610 S Coulter St, Amarillo, Tx [protected]. 2 of the cards were ok, the 3rd card was not. When my son opened it, in front of me, the card number was cut off and the pin number sticker was removed. I filed a case with the credit card gift card center, the first time on 02/05/22, got case # [protected]. I was supposed to get a check in the mail in 7-10 days, I called back on 2/25/22 when I had received nothing, and they couldn't find the case # I had filed, so I got another case # [protected], I was also told to email a copy of the receipt and the card [protected]@greendotcorp.com. Which I emailed on 02/26/22. I, again heard nothing, and called again, and again they couldn't find the 2 previous case numbers, so I got a 3rd case # [protected]. I did get an email saying they had received it that day, the today I received another email saying they needed more information, and to please call, I called only to be told that the card had been used and they couldn't give me a refund. This is a TOTAL SCAM! I am not in the habit of giving my money away, nor do I have the time to sit on the phone for hours, wasting my time. I will file a complaint to the Green Dot Corp as well. I want my $104.94 back!

Green Dot Greendot closed my account and holding my $1800

I received my tax return on 3/4/22. I zelle d $200 to my mom and $200 to my mother in law. Then my account was frozen. I immediately submitted front and back of my license. 4 days passed so I called again. I was told the picture was blurry and to resend knowing this was a lie. I still submitted my ID for a 2nd time. Now, a week later, I called them again (green dot has not contacted me once during any of this) and I’m told my license seems “suspicious and fictitious” and my account is closed. They will not return my $1800. Can anyone, someone please help me phone number [protected] email address [protected]@icloud.com.

I read your post about the greendot account that got closed after getting your tax return.

I would like to let you know, greendot is a scam bank and i don't advise anyone should use them, we can further in your DM. Let's try and get our issues sorted, i also have such problem with them.

We will discuss better that way.

Green Dot Intuit turbo visa debit card

The card was acquired from tax refunds in early 2021. I then set up direct deposit on the account from my employer. My paychecks were being deposited regularly. In December 2021 I began having problems accessing the account online. Subsequently I began having problems using the card. I Contacted customer service around mid-December about the problems and was informed that the account was overdrawn. At that time my balance should have been around $2500. Not having online access prevented me from viewing the transactions. All of the information that customer service requested was provided except the correct (original) address I had entered when opening the account. The login and password had also been changed. After determining that the account had been hacked it was closed.

I was verbally informed of some, but not all, of the most recent transactions which I knew were not mine. I then disputed all transactions from the beginning of December 2021 though the account being closed.

After several weeks the only transaction reversed was for $970 +/-.

Customer service then advised me that I had to prove my current residency or address in order for the reimbursement to be carried out. My driver's license, birth certificate, auto insurance, and a court summons, all with my name and address on them would not suffice. Customer service then advised me that proof of address would have to come from the local postmaster. I met with the local postmaster who informed me that "by law" the post office cannot confirm anyone's address by mail. The mail is sent to addresses, not individuals. Anyone's name can be on mail sent to any address and does not prove permanent residence. I will call customer service again and advise them of what the postmaster informed me of.

Desired outcome: Investigation including IP addresses of online changes and transactions. (To catch the thief)Customer service improved knowledge of FDIC regulations. (Chain of command)And "yes" a fair result.

Green Dot One of 6 walmart money cards taken over by an unknown party. A breach in their security.

I purchased 6 $500. Walmart money cards in Coos Bay Oregon on November 11. I used the first one, with no problem. However when I tried to use the 2nd one it did not work. When I called the Green Dot customer service line, I was told the card had already been used by another party. I did not give the card or number to anyone else. I live alone, and I keep the cards in a safe place. They told me the account would be closed. I used card number 3 successfully, and then decided since customer service was so bad to turn in the other 3 cards, 4, 5, and 6. for a refund.,which was granted during the 10 day period . I filed a fraud complaint for card #2, and was told that I would be contacted via email. My request for compensation was denied, and I was accused incorrectly of giving the number to another party. I was denied knowledge of who this other party was. I was told to check with my local sheriffs department which I did, which did not make any sense, if I was the one who gave away the number. They were not able to, or willing to help me. I have the receipt and all other documentation that I was instructed to provide. I believe that the security breach was on Green Dots end, not mine, and I am being unjustly held accountable for it. Also their customer service is terrible!

I had a horrible problem trying to close my account (Card #1)on the additional debit card that they sent me uninvited. Their service people are hard to understand with their Indian accents, and they try to talk over you and convince you to not close the account. Interestingly enough, when I just (3/8/22)tried to close the account on the no. 3 card, I found that there had been an illegal attempt to use it, even though it had never been activated, which means to me that some unauthorized person has the number or their computer program does. I did receive an assurance that the unwanted extra debit card on the #3 would be closed, and then when I talked to the fraud division alerting them to a fraudulant attempt to use the card, they said that the account had not been closed. (3/8/2022)

Last thing I want to do is to do business with this organization. I am 75 years old, with an excellent credit history, and the stress of trying to set things right has been daunting. Please help me with this.

Desired outcome: Refund of the 500.00 that was stolen from me because of the lapse in their security and whatever pressure you can bear on this organization to improve their security and their customer service.

Green Dot Greendot card

I lost my card that had my stimulus checks deposited on it first some reason I spent 2 years trying to locate this money it was only after I was able to find an old email address I no longer used because it was attached to a prepaid phone and number I didn't have it was in 2019 but I was able to get in the Gmail account so then I found greendot emails so I knew I had an account with attached to the email and was able to log in to it and I then found my stimulus money this was June of 2021. I want to add that greendot had this account and money in it for over a year and until I was able to log in to my account they couldn't find it even with my s.s. number. So I no longer had my card and wanted to transfer my money to another account I had received a go2bank card in the mail and I called greendot and spoke to a customer service representative and he took me thru the steps while onthe phone with him and using another phone at the same time. He told me that since they were both greendot it would be transferable so I did what he told me to do it didn't work and in turn they blocked my card for suspicion of fraud. They then told me I needed to send pictures of the front and back of my state issue i.d. iv done this multiple times now called to verify that it was received and and told 2 business days my closed account would be reopened its been 3 months and many pictures. Everything I call I tell them I've already done this they act like I didn't didn't just tell them I've already sent it multiple times and they tell me again that unfortunately my account has been blocked for suspicious activity and I'd need to send in a picture of the front and back of my state issued i.d. or driver's license AGAIN. all the while taking out fees for money I can't touch. I have contacted my lawyer about the matter now and the irs because it is stimulus money they I have a case number and am awaiting their call now.

Green Dot Invasion of privacy

Had i known these people wanted my first born & blood, I never would have bought this garbage card. Walmart was out of Apple/itunes cards so I thought I'd buy the green dot. They're all the same right? WRONG! This one wants your social security & all kinds of other PERSONAL information that everyone is always taught NOT to give out. Its inappropriate & wrong & I hope it ends up costing the company everything they have. Because lets face it, most of us bought the card not knowing the info they require (because its hidden inside a sealed package) & its not as if we can return the card, so we have no choice but to agree to their garbage terms & conditions. You dont need to put your social in for $40-50. That is asinine. Because I accidentally pressed the incorrect number on my ss number, they just stole $50 from me & cant help me recover my account or money.

Desired outcome: FIX YOUR ACTIVATION PROCESS.... I WONT GET ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR CARDS, OTHERS MIGHT. EVEN AFTER I POST THIS EVERYWHERE.

I bought 2 green dot cards at Walmart because they were out of Apple/itunes cards. Had I known I had to give them information like my ss & other things, I would never have bought these cards. I registered the cards & missed one number on one of the cards. Now they wont even work with me to get my money back. They are crooks & this is going to tbe BBB, Facebook live, Youtube, ALL social media. I've had it with these people. If you feel you can help, please do. I am so angry not even an extra lithium is helping calm me down.

Green Dot Walmart money card

Last may go to Walmart purchased money card, put 300 dollars on it at register. Used phone to register it. Tried to take some money out they said wasn't my name on it that nothing matched. I've been fighting for a year with these people on the other end, I've done all they have asked of me... Now it comes to its bee to long and closed my file, huh? Really?

I have the card, packaging and receipt. Now ill contact the CEO. May not get anywhere but [censored]
I won't quit tell I receive my monies from this

Green Dot Seeking a refund of funds deposited on a card which was subsequently canceled at my request

I had a WalMart Card — I thought it may have been hacked so I requested a new card which I received — I deposited $100 on that card — I tried to activate the card, but discovered you had a phone number for me that was 6 years old and no longer existed. It was decided that I would cancel my account and start afresh. I wanted the money I had deposited refunded. I have worked for two months to get $95.00 refunded — you charged me $5.00 for the replacement card even though it could not be activated.

I had been promised the refund on three THREE separate occasions — always in 'two weeks' — but have never received the money. I would like my refund! My experience with your customer service operation in the Philippines has been horrendous — it sucks.

I just want my refund! The new case number — assigned before the last lie that the refund would be received in 'two weeks' — is: [protected] — my name is Pete Clark.

I just want to resolve this matter — two months to get a refund is ridiculous — please resolve this and send my my money.

Green Dot Declining my Card

I purchased this card Feb13, 2022 at CVS in Montgomery Alabama, at Register #3, Transaction #4669, Cashier # 2152590 at Store # 4895 to use throughout my travels in Florida.

I had to register it twice, it shows there is almost $500. available, but have been declined FOUR TIMES trying to use it.

I was declined the second time on Feb 13th at approximately 6:00 pm at the Board Boardwalk Beach Hotel, 9600 S Thomas Dr, Panama City Beach, FL, 32408.

I was declined twice more. I believe one was a gas station near Panama City Beach on Feb. 13 or 14th. I may have the CASH receipt here if needed because that is what I had to use instead.

I was also denied on Monday, Feb.14th (I believe this was the one I went to) at Cracker Barrel 520 E 23rd St Bay City Plaza, Panama City, FL [protected] at approximately 8:30 pm.

I tried again just now, Feb 15, 2022 at approximately 9 am at the AMI Store (gas station) in or near Panama City, Florida and was denied AGAIN!

Automated Customer Service says it is declined from previous use, but I have NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE IT!

I just now went through their ID VERIFICATION and it said it will take TWO DAYS!

I am traveling and NEED THAT MONEY for gas and lodging!

This seems very devious to me. Never again!

Green Dot Refund

I reported my card stolen and told them that I was being hacked and that my son was getting into all of my accounts and they had me send them a copy of my lease and my ID and I did and I confirmed that they got it twice and that was December 13th 2021 it's February 10th 2022 I spoke with them yesterday on February 9th and they said that they never received it and are just arguing with me about well they never received it they never received it what can I check my email and I told them I can't get into that email I sent it to them so I'm supposed to resend it even though I've already verified this and they told me my check would be here in 2 weeks now they're saying that it's not going to be because I haven't submitted anything and I've been calling them and dealing with them Non-Stop about this since December 2021 still have not received my refund they did send me a card with my $450 on it but I can't use it because my account's Frozen because it was reported stolen it's ridiculous

Desired outcome: I would like my money back and payment for having to spend all of my time doing this over and over and over again for the last two and a half months

Green Dot Card

I applied for a card a couple of years ago, when I chose not to use it i tore it up and I sent a letter(because I cant et in touch with anyone) to cancel.
