Great Expressions Dental Centers very poor and lousy dental cleaning, and very unfriendly doctor

I was at Great expressions dental centers at 09|2514 at 4:00 PM.For a dental cleaning.

I am not happy with their dental cleaning, it was done very superficially, lousy job, not professional at all.
This is not acceptable. My previous dental cleaning by other dental offices were much better and
professional. This nurse who clean my dents was unprofessional and provide me very lousy dental cleaning.
Her name was Madeline.
The Doctor who check my dents was very unfriendly, no courtesy, no considerations, just searching more job her.I thing her name was
Messia.If I am spelling right.
I do not recommend this dental office to any body.I do file a complaint to BBB.in New jersey also.

Great Expressions Dental Centers - fraud and overcharging

Went here yesterday because I had dental insurance and had to use one of the AARP dental facilities. Waited over 35 minutes for appointment, then they spent almost an hour doing just x-rays (24 of them which is WAY over the limit for one day). The insurance company said that should have been spread out over 2 years. Then they recommended all sorts of...

Great Expressions Dental Centers billing / collection agency

I had some dental work performed at the Stockbridge office by Dr. Ali Mehraban. His office manager Tabatha did not submit the correct clinical narrative to my insurance company and therefore we have gone back and forth for close to a year. Each phone call to Tabatha after receiving a bill, she would claim to have called the insurance and was either waiting for a return phone call or that they wanted her to re-submit her narrative. As my bill was outstanding, she assured me I would not be charged any extra fees for tardy payment due to the fact it was money owed by the insurance and not myself. I had already paid my portion at time of service.
Moving forward, the last bill received again I called the office and spoke to a Danielle who claimed that Tabatha suggested I call the insurance commission of GA and complain. I researched the info on line and called Danielle back to ask Tabatha to submit her notes and a copy of the narrative so I could have the facts when talking to someone from both the insurance Metropolitan Insurance and the commissioner of GA.

INSTEAD, I received a letter from a collection agency.

Customer Service at any Great Expressions leaves alot to be desired. Check out the other complaints and wonder why these offices are losing business.

Great Expressions Dental Centers infection

I went in for some work to be done, I received a root canal and a temporary cap. shortly after treatment I noticed that I had a bump growing on the tooth next to the treated tooth. I went back to great expression and I was told by a very inexperienced dental tech that it was a bone spur that has probably been there all my life, (I just never noticed it) what I am 50 years old you are telling me that this is something that's always been there ? Needless to say the dental tech did not listen. I finally went back to and spoke to the original tech who performed the service she said that the other tech was wrong and that he needs time to learn(really). I reminded her that I asked her if I needed to be on antibiotics when she did the root canal and she said no. she this is a gum problem and that the tooth will need to have a root canal and cap. She then prescribed some antibiotics, (wow) I have two bumps in the area now and I was prescribed additional antibiotics. I don't like the one dentist working so the dentist literally runs from one patient to the next, and has multiple patients at the same time. terrible experience

Great Expressions Dental Centers dental service

These guys are scam artists and motivated solely by profit. I went for routine check up after moving to the area and they were the closest office that accepts my wifes company' dental plan so I figured give em a try. I am a busy healthcare professional but every time I get any health related service I don't tell people that I am a healthcare professional to see if they treat me differently than someone who if not knowledgeable or ignorant. The dental team here from the dentist to hygienist are solely motivated by profit and have no regard to patient care or needs. They recommended I get 5 fillings and an expensive upgrade cleaning which I didn't need since I am very aware of the state of my dental health as I have seen my regular dentist in another city for years. When I graciously refused they got angry and refused to even perform the basic cleaning that is covered by my wife's insurance plan. They insisted upon the expensive uncovered upgrade cleaning package and offered payment plans and after I refused they stated they would not be able to help me. This place is a business driven unethical practice with people who probably are paid by the amount of work they can generate. I went to a second dentists and got a second opinion not only did I not need the expensive cleaning package, I ended up only needing a small filling on one tooth, total cost $360 instead of what these guys at great expressions recommended which amounted to $4280. I can't believe this kind of unethical medical practice exists and flourishes today. Their office was packed at the time of my visit and i even had to wait 2 weeks for my original appointment. If my office operated the same way I would be shut down by the state medical board. We need to spread the word and prevent these types of vultures/bad businesses from profiting from the ignorant general public who are not knowledgeable enough about medicine and dentistry.

We need more people like you in the world. Same thing happened to me! They refused regular cleaning for me and recommended deep cleaning which I didn't need. When I refused, they refused to give me regular cleaning. I am not sure why they are still in business.

They did exactly the same thing to me yesterday. I had the dental insurance and they recommended every procedure in the world. The cost to me was 6 to 10 times what it should have been according to AARP insurance company who I called after this was done. Complaints are going to be filed against them by both the insurance company and myself. I can''t believe are still operating this way - scamming people out of money!

Great Expressions Dental Centers implants & dentures

On Jan.5, 2013 I had 4 implants put in by Dr. George Woodrick. He did this with Novocain
only. About a month later 1 of the implants came out. He put in 2 new implants and one of those came out. Also the dentures that he had made for me did not fit right. They stuck up in the front, stuck in on the sides and had a big gap on the sides. I could not bite or chew due to the way they fit. I have been back and forth to this dentist about 2 times per month and still do not have teeth. I paid just under $4000.00 for this. They agreed to give back $3200.00 and remove the implants. I want the rest of my money for the dentures back also so I can go to another
dentist who is a professional and knows what they are doing. This dentist should not be allowed to practice implant logy since he is not qualified.

Great Expressions Dental Centers overcharges double charges

Great Expressions Dental is a complete RIPOFF, even after getting paid by insurance company for services they want to charge patients extra charge for their OWN records and xrays. They are digital and refuse to email another dental office just SCAM .

Same situation what they bill the insurance does not match the contract you signed I wish I check the reviews and shop around before I signed the contract when I call the insurance they said my copay according of what they billed was $1, 070. I need paying to great expressions $$1, 745. A whole bunch of made up codes the insurance does not recognized .if a the list they were offering good service. They are terrible good luck if they evrransweer the phone or even return your message they are rude and insensitive just about ¢$$$ and for some reason getting away with it. STAY AWAY COMPARE PRICES DONOT SIGN BEFORE CHECKING WITH YOUR INSURANCE.

I wish I had checked out Great Expression before I visited them..Totally unethical!
They charge you a different fee once you are on the dental chair, ask you to sign paperwork and tell you they will submit to insurance company (probably knowing full well they are going to use codes that are not accepted by the Dental insurance) thus allowing them to keep your money..
Oh, and forget trying to negotiate with then..they will keep you tied up for months from office to office...Paid $600 out of pocket for a procedure I should have never paid for... then use the form (they make you sign and they sick in front of your nose) whilst you are on the dental chair...as leverage to keep your money once you make a claim against them!
Well Great Expression, you might have won this time..but long term..moving my whole family to a more ethical dental provider. Have shared my experience with friends and family...

Great Expressions Dental Centers horrible treatment, horrible staff

DO NOT GO TO THESE DENTISTS. They will make you wait MONTHS for a consult, MONTHS for an appointment, and then not tell you you can t drink 1 sip of water 6 hours before surgery so they want to reschedule your 900$+ appointment for ANOTHER MONTH LATER because of THEIR OWN STUPID ERROR. They do not care how much pain you are in. They do not care if your teeth need to come out a.s.a.p. Their doctors work 2 days a week and can t be bothered to ACTUALLY HELP PATIENTS. They refuse to work with you, the office staff are EXTREMELY RUDE.

The fat so called doctor who s name is either DOROTHY or DELORIS even went so far as to CALL ME A #$%$, and stand in my face and tell me that I didn t care if my fiance lived or died. A medical professional said this. Multiple times, whenever I tried to talk over her shouting all she had to say was You don t care if he dies! and I have 40 years experience, so it doesn t matter what you think! Once again, this is the behavior of a doctor we are PAYING to render a service. We were treated like idiot enemies from minute 1, not patients or customers.

When I asked for their names and the number to corporate, the first rude receptionist LIED about her own name (she said it was Jackie, I overheard her answering the phone as Carmen, ) and refused to provide any further names, I guess so they wouldn t get in trouble. They do not care about you, your teeth, or anything else but your $$$$$$$$$$.

When I called corporate to complain, the woman said the entire office had united in their lie to say that I was causing an insane ruckus, and they did not do anything wrong. Zero diciplinary actions will be taken because I was not the patient, so it doesn't matter how the doctor or staff spoke to me. So, don't take your family to the office, because you never know when they're going to be cussed out! She also said we had been told "six to eight hours" no water/food, WHICH WE HAD NOT. We were told not one drop since MIDNIGHT the night prior, when his appointment was at 4pm. The woman from corporate insisted this was not true, that they told us 6 - 8 hours. If it was 6 - 8 hours, they should have been able to perform the surgery, BUT they wouldn't because it "had to be since midnight." But it's still our fault somehow? Even though THEY'RE twisting the info they gave us to fit their needs?

If you leave a dissatisfied comment on their facebook page, they'll delete it. If you call customer service to complain, they'll tell you they don't care and that it's your fault and their staff are angels descended from upon high.

To be fair, the actual (male) dentist knows his work and did a fantastic job. If he moves to another office away from the psychotic office staff, we would stay a patient of his, but dealing with classless, argumentative staff is not worth it.

DO NOT GO HERE. PLEASE. PICK ANY OTHER DENTAL SURGEON. CALL TOM HANKS AN HAVE HIM BRING YOU AN ICE SKATE. JUST DO NOT GO TO GREAT EXPRESSIONS!

Thankfully, I didn't encounter rude, insane, screaming people at Great Expressions Dental but I wasn't overly impressed with them, either. Sure, the receptionist and dental hygienists and even the dentist herself was professional and considerate; HOWEVER! However, the dentist quoted an absolutely outrageous amount of money for the things I need to have done and when I checked online with other dentists, these same procedures were hundreds of dollars less than what the Great Expressions dentist told me. Also, I told the dentist and everyone else several times that I don't work and get Social Security Disability. Maybe they didn't believe me. I'm only 46 years old and look much younger. Maybe they thought I was trying to pull a fast one because the perky little woman in the finance department presented me with the total cost of the services ($14, 588.25) and seemed puzzled that my jaw practically fell on the floor. She then obnoxiously suggested that I take out a loan to pay for the dental work! Duh! What part of "I'm receiving Social Security Disability and am on a VERY limited budget" didn't she get? She told me I could apply for a loan through carecredit.com and that if I paid my entire balance within nine months, I wouldn't have to pay any additional interest. Gosh, how helpful! I guess I'll have to go sell a body part or have a bake sale to get that money together! And what's worse is that I think Humana ONLY uses Great Expressions dentists! I did a search for dentists in my Atlanta, GA zip code and every single dentist on the list was a Great Expressions dentist! This is awful!

Great Expressions Dental Centers dental

After being in so much pain I was forced to overcome my overwhelming fear of the dentist, I went to Great Expressions in Monticello, NY, shaking and crying the entire drive, and also the entire visit. It turned out I needed and extraction, a root canal, and a filling replaced, and I also had an abcess, all on the right side. After being charged for an 'emergency visit' I was told I would have to wait 8 days to even have the extraction done. When I expressed concern about this because of the amount of pain I was in, I was told not to worry, that the dentist would call me something in for the pain. When I picked up my prescriptions, I saw that the pain killer was 800 mg of Motrin. I called the office back and explained that I had already been taking 800 mg of Advil, and was still in a lot of pain. I was told that the "Dr." didn't call me in anything stronger, because I told him that the hospital had already given me percoset. ? I said, "He's thinking of another patient. I have not been to the hospital, I do not have percoset, and it not only hurts to eat and drink, but just my breath going over my teeth is excrutiating. I was told, "Sorry, but the doctor is not going to call you in anything else." I am currently on my 4th sleepless night in a row because of the pain, and I am simply shocked and outraged by the callousness of Dr. Collin Reid. My notion of dentists being nothing but sadists has been CONFIRMED.

I have been to their location in Monticello several times. Every time I am in there I have witnessed men like myself being forced to wait over half an hour, sometimes an hour for care. The last time I went there proved it is not a place anyone should seek care from. My feelings have been confirmed by at least three other male individuals who have been subjected to the same treatment. Men are immediately handed forms to fill out (despite being their numerous times and filling out the same thing). Women are told "Hi dear, how are you?" and they sit for about ten minutes before being taken. The women who work there, including receptionists, nurses, managers and hygienists are intolerably rude and condescending. Also, they laughed at my fiancee the moment she walked in. Are they racists too (she's not quintessentially white)? Perhaps they are. Now, to my last experience. I received a cleaning and was told the doctor will be in shortly. Over half an hour I sat there wondering when anyone will even notify me of any changes. The nurses walk in and out checking the computers, in complete silence. Then I get told that since he's "backed up" (I wonder how backed up since everytime I hear him laughing and cavorting with the coworkers?) and it's better if I come back. Nonsense. I'm disabled and missed my medication dosage and had to take it much later than usual (my body doesn't react to it well and I cannot drive on it). Everytime I'm treated like dirt at that place. People need to go to another group and seek care elsewhere. Their cancellation policy is slavery as well. They schedule an appointment within 48 hours but lo and behold you can't cancel it because then you owe them a fee. The dentist, Dr. Uppal will not appeal to the insurance company for my fiancee's dental work despite it being painful, and having a screw out in the open from a previous dentist. I imagine it's more profitable for this location to charge the patient out of pocket for substandard work. I do know this, once her work is completed she is finding another dentist. In short, don't go there.

This "Great" place that calls them self Great Expresstion is a joke, there is nothing great about this place! All they care about is the money not the patients.Somethimes I feel as if I'm in a department store...they always try to sell you something. Some offices are old and dirty. They need to invest some money into the NY offices.

Great Expressions Dental Centers worse scandalist place I have worked

Worse place I have ever worked at charging patients / insurance for services not done, charging patients / insurance for services not needed, spreading diseases from patient to patient from employees being pushed for numbers not care and due to lack of cleaning supplies.Scamming medicad every day for uncalled for treatments on innocent children. 99% of Doctors are fresh out of school or from other countries that totally don't know what they are doing to people's PERMANENT TEETH..This place does not care about patient care or employees only the $$$$$$. ! Very Sad

Great Expressions Dental Centers service

Two years ago I had much dental work done paid thousands for myself and my daughters. We had not been keeping up with our teeth and ended with a large bill. One daughter had a large amt of cavitys and the other only a few. I also set up a monthly amount of 300 for two years. The dental plan for myself was made and my greatest need was work on the front top teeth for employment reasons they were chipped and had cavitys. I paid the portion I owed and was told insurance did not pay there's. Meantime I had tempory caps and a huge monthly brace bill. Now I have paid off the braces and had been able to pay on the insurance bill a little but the temporary caps two have fallen and been destroyed leaving an ugly stick for a teeth.. I have been stuck with this for two years. If I had known that they did not get a guarantee ok from the insurance bill I would never have planned the work this way. I was told they had gotten this ok for the work. Now they want payment but refuse to show me the permanent teeth that they claim to have in the office and say that they don't have a dentist to place them in my mouth available and would need to place a future date and that now it is two years later and they probably will need to make new teeth and charge per tooth about 100 to 300 per tooth to have the work done. What a scam. I was asked to leave by dawn the office manager from the office and treated like a menace with no accountability for their actions. I am now in a crisis with two caps off having tooth pain and the front top missing looking just awful and embarrassing.

Great Expressions Dental Centers horrible horrible place!!!

I will start out by saying this place I know for a fact has to bring in $5K a day successfully to keep their crapy manager! As long as the money is coming in she stays! So on that note, they will tell you things are covered, and they're not! And you end up paying to find out you really didn't have to! Its fraud, and I just received finally after 6 months a portion of the money they owe me! Still waiting on another $66! Calling corporate doesn't seem to help because they don't RETURN call either! Disgusted with this office! AVOID THIS PLACE IN FEATHER SOUND! You will save yourself and your family a lot of money and stress!

Great Expressions Dental Centers billing

I was told that I owed 345.00 dollars (6) MONTHS LATER for having my wisdom tooth removed. The day of the appointment I was told I owed 60 dollars, THATS IT. Now I'm getting FREQUENT phone calls from a collection agency saying fork over the money or else, now letters. I've been in contact with the Dental Office for a month in a half, Amy and Faith kept saying "We've resubmitted the Fee code" over and over again, when in reality if they would have submitted the proper code in the first place, I wouldn't have a bill for almost 400 dollars WITH INSURANCE for ONE tooth. This company lacks training and customer service. When asked, if you would have submitted the correct fee code to begin with would I be going through this...NO RESPONSE. In this recession owing 400.00 for someone CLERICAL ERROR is ridiculous! That’s taking food off the table of others and this company is a scam with no character.

Great Expressions waited almost 2 years to bill us for a replacement denture the dentist said would be a courtesy write off since the first one did not fit. When I tried to explain why it was a courtesy write off and asked them to contact the dentist they refused. I paid 390.00 rather than have them screw up my credit rating.

Great Expressions Dental Centers stay away from these con-artists

In December 2009 I started seeing the Fantastic Expressions orthodontic center becuase I needed braces desperatly. They are the only orthodontic center within 300 miles of my house covered by United Concodordia (hmmm…I wonder why) so I had to go there. On my first visit they were very nice and acted like they knew all about orthodontics (they are all con artists, don't believe them about anything). On my second visit, wich was "records day" i had to get molds and such. They have made 14 mistakes since then (currently its July '10). Here is the list of all the mistakes they have made: 1. they used a mold that was too huge for my mouth so rather then the typical 15 seconds for the goo to dry it took 2 minutes, or peer gaging. 2. I had the slightest cross bite and it didn't bother me at all, and you couldnt tell at all because it was on my molars really far back. I got an expander and they accidently said 28 cranks instead of the 8 extra ones so I finished up having a huge overbite on both sides of my mouth, and on the right side of my mouth my molars dont touch the top molars are sooo far over. 3. while putting in my expander she meant to be putting a sealer on my teeth, but on "accident" the fresh out of dental school orthodontist smothered adhesive all over 3 of my teeth before she realized it wasn't sealer. 4. while putting on my braces she place one of the brackets on incorrect (because they constantly sing to the radio while working on your teeth) place one of the brackets on incorrect and had to pull it off and place it back on, then 5 months later the bracket came off and now she's calling it "breakage" and charging me for it. 5. when putting colors on my braces, she forgot the bottom right side of my mouth so i had no colors on 5 teeth so the wire wouldnt stay in and it kept comming out. i had my mom call in shortly after to say that and the manager (Rose) said that it was "no biggie" and "would probably be fixed next appointment if they had time". 6. They sent in the incorrect design for the expander so they had to sightly numb my mouth and cut two arms of metal off my expander while it was still in my mouth. 4 months later and im still in pain with cuts on my pallete from then cutting. I could easily go on with this list forever. My advice is to STAY AWAY FROM THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE CON ARTISTS AND TRICK YOUR PARENTS INTO THINKING THAT THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! THEY DON'T! THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO JUST GET YOUR CASH! (AND THE MAJORITY OF THE EVIL CON STUFF THEY DO IS EXTREMLY PAINFUL). my dad will not let me sWITCH orthodontists so i have to live with their crappy JOB and con artist ways but if you have options NEVER EVEN RECKON ABOUT DIALING THEIR PHONE NUMBER! I looked on google images for a picturre of the expander I have, and it doesn't exsist any where else but the weird factory they get them from… STAY AWAY!

I don't know what this site is but I have to vent somewhere. I have had 4 kids in braces at Great Expressions due to having United Concordia and they herd all their clients to G.E. centers. The first dentist was a cocky idiot who did a poor job with my 2nd son and waited so long to put braces on my older son, he left for college with them on and had to fly home to get adjustments - said he might need jaw surgery which he did not, thus the late start. When the new dentist came in, we thought things would improve and we put 2 more kids in braces there. We were told my son had a slightly more difficult case but my daughter was an 'average" case and would take maybe 2 to 2 1/2 years. They work on a "non-compliance" system with United Concordia so they literally wait for you to screw up, act nice to your face, but mark EVERYTHING down in their stupid charts. THey sent us a letter saying we had 2 non-compliances for each of my 2 kids and would thus have to begin paying out of pocket. By the way, they charge $150 monthly even though they only schedule appts. every 6 weeks. They said my son had a strike for "hygiene" and they'd sent me a letter about it. This is too long to go into, but I grievance it with United Concordia and they gave me a 2nd chance. One full year later, the hygienist asked my daughter if she'd been wearing rubber bands full time and my daughter said not exactly so along came a letter saying we had to start paying. Now, I was not approached, I was not brought into the discussion - this was between my 14 y.o. daughter and the assistant (btw, when my daughter said, 'no' she didn't mean 'hardly ever' she only meant there were a few times she forgot over night or the bands broke and she couldn't put them on till she arrived back home)... anyway, after 3+ years, we had to start paying their monthly charge - fast forward one more year, and my daughter who is now totally VIGILANT with her elastics is STILL in braces. FInally, as we were hoping to complain to someone about the length of service and see if they would agree to only charge for a few more months or only charge partial (they have been telling us for 2 years that she's "almost done"). Finally, I said we need to deband because I can't afford this anymore, we had had to drop United Concordia to get some good insurance (Blue Cross) for other kids and they said we can't schedule debanding until you pay up. I asked if they would bill Blue Cross for me. They took one month and came back and said "no" but of course I was stupid and gave them my insurance information. So, I paid them the $1090 balance in full. As soon as they cashed that, they hurried up and billed Blue Cross, Blue Cross paid up 60% and sent them a check for $720 and they will not give it to us. It is our money for services already rendered and they are saying that it is customary to "hold onto it while she is still in treatment incase of a shortage" (read: in case we piss you off so bad you don't want to pay us one more dime, we have your money already. They have already deducted another $160 from it so are saying that we now only have a surplus of $560. They are liars, scammers and thieves. After I paid in full, they had no right to run to MY insurance company, after telling me they would not bill, and before I had a chance to submit a claim and then collect our money. They ran to them and took the check that was rightfully ours and Blue Cross, sadly, is telling me this is between us and them. I don't get it. I will continue to go up higher at both Blue Cross and also at Great Expressions. Don't go near them with a 100 ft. pole! By the way, this office is in Canton, MI. YUCK!

I'm a dad and I kinda suspected something fishy about this organization. I called up for an appointment and they only work from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM the latest. Guess, what I take my kid out of school and leave my work to pay them for ### potty mouthed service. No way. Would ike to see a class action lawsuit against them. Put themout of business for hiring dentists who graduate in bottom 5 % of their class. Also, they hire imbeciles to work for cheap and scam insurance money. Tehy should be put out of busienss.

Great Expressions Dental Centers fraudulent charges

Recently I checked my credit report and noticed that the collection agency for Great Expression has reported a defaul in the amount of $64.20. I have NEVER been to a Great Expressions Denal Center. Come to find out another adult member of my family had an appointmentn, but when my family member showed up, they informed that they do not accept our dental insurance. Without providing ANY dental servi ce, they began billing me, eventualy their collection agency started calling. Everyime I spoke with someone I would as to be provided with an itemized invoice so that I can pay the billed charges, they declined siting HIPPA, since the person who had the appointmetn was not me, but an adlt family member. Another words they want me to pay, but will not tell me what for. I refused, and now they have reported to the credit agencies, trying to discredit me. If this is how they treat a person who is not their patient, I wounder how they treat their current patients. I would stay away from these FRAUDS!

Great Expressions Dental Centers worst and costly treatment

My first appointment was for a general cleaning and that is when it all started. Amidst the cleaning procedure, they uncovered that I need more special cleaning that would require $220 out of the pocket expense from my end. I had no choice but I accepted for the procedure. After this treatment my tooth ache became worse, that I had to go for follow-up treatment they said that I would require scaling and filling on right upper and lower tooth and root canal for one tooth. Since the scaling and filling procedure I'm having great sensitivity and tingling whenever I bite food till date. I never such an experience prior to visiting the dental center. Till date I had spent more than $1000 out of my pocket expense and my insurance had maxed out for this year.

I'm unsatisfied with the service I received from Great Expressions - East Windsor because of the following reasons.
1) Prior to my cleaning procedure, I had no pain or issues with my tooth.
2) My tooth ache worsened after every procedure that was done since September 2010.
3) They never explained to my questions and they referred to specialist to answer who wasn't available immediately.
4) The treatment procedure was not explained to me completely.
5) I received a worst scaling and filling procedure by Dr. Kumar. She attended two patients simultaneously and elongated the procedure time and didn't pay full attention to myself.
6) Every time I complained about the pain I experienced because of the treatment I received in my previous appointment, they mentioned some new issue with my tooth whenever.

I would never recommend this center for any body because, their procedures are costly and unsatisfactory.

Great Expressions Dental Centers dr, and desk clerk

Took my 16 yr Daughter to their office today. She is in pain on the right side, w/ 2 bad teeth. The Dr. looked and told us to go to an Orthodontist. My complaint is, what about the pain?, is she infected? nerve exposer? She is 16 and the Dr. did not even speak to me, he left it up to his desk clerk. I will be sending other complaints about this else where.

Great Expressions Dental Centers prices / service

I'm so tired of surprises and additional costs, service issues at this office. I don't know who's job it was to inform me that my daughter had periodontal disease and needed a cleaning every 3-4 months, but they didn't tell me. Now, surprise! I have to pay $300 and an additional $117 every 3-4 months and none of it is covered under her plan. That's on top of the $108 per month I pay for braces and they keep breaking and I keep having to pay $25 for each repair, again not covered by insurance. I don't know what is typical or not, but my 16 year old can't live on baby food because their brackets keep coming off. In addition, be prepared to sit and wait over 2 hours for appointments but if YOU are late 15 minutes, you will have to reschedule! All this and I'm only half way through the braces time period. Not a good sign at all. Really frustrated, disappointed, stressed out over this.

I was over talked and I was asked "Why am I fussing about the amount?" What kind of people are they hiring. I will take my business where it's appreciated. 5year customer. My 4 year old so had a bump on the inside of his lower lip. I explained this to them when calling for the appt., knowing he needed to see the oral surgeon and not a regular dentist. They insisted he been seen by dentist first, who immediately looked at the bump and stated "he needs to see the surgeon". We get an appt. with the surgeon, for 2 weeks later. The surgeons nurse insisted on taking X-rays of his mouth, even tho he was not having any teeth issues. We finally got the appt. for surgery and when we arrived that morning they said it would cost $500 for the surgery, as your insurance wont cover it. I said I don't have $500 and they said sorry we can't help your son and I was asked to leave.

Great Expressions Dental Centers terrible service

This is my experience at the Largo, FL location: I scheduled my appt for 8 am so that it would not affect my work schedule. The assistant took me back to the chair, removed my temp crown, went out of the room for 10 minutes, and returned to tell me "oops, we made a mistake - this is the dentist's late day. You can either have the temp crown re-cemented and come back another day or wait an hour or so and he'll be in." I had a meeting @ 10, so I elected to come back at noon and have the permanent crown put on. The office staff is incompetent, and could not do anything without the regional directors permission; when I asked to speak with the regional director the girl replied "he doesn't like to talk to patients." They offered me a box of white strips for my inconvenience; I asked for a 50% discount (unfortunately I had paid in full during my temp crown appt). I settled for a Braun toothbrush and told them they just lost my business plus my three family members. BTW, when I was finally "permitted" to speak to the RD (Tim or Tom), he said "I don't know what the big deal was, you could have come back another day. I wait all of the time at my doctor's office." Great job!

Jacksonville branch is just as incompetent, paid in full -$2200.00, sedation for two extractions and bridge, woke up after extractions and they said they couldn't keep me under that I would have to wait 6wks for it to heal then the district manager would have to sedate me for the bridge work, possibly for a reduced cost, ? 7weeks later and several of my calls to them, still nothing nothing can't find out who the regional manager name or number, lady on phone said he does not take phone calls that is what she is there for...?

Great Expressions Dental Centers rude hygieneist

My employer recently changed my dental coverage and I had to change dentists and found Great Expressions as a participant with my new insurance. I chose the Livonia office on Ann Arbor Trail because it was closest to my house. I had heard bad things about this company before but didn't have a choice because of my insurance. Upon arriving to my appointment everything was very nice, I have to admit, I was impressed. I was taken back to see the hygienist and had several xrays taken. Then the hygienist came in, sat down and started poking at my gums and saying a bunch of numbers. I had tears running down my cheeks it hurt so bad. She pretended not to hear me when I told her it was too painful. Then she told me I would have to come back another time for a deep cleaning because I had "pockets" and left. She never once introduced herself or even said hello! I was then given an estimate of over $400 for this deep cleaning. I sat in my car and cried, my gums were throbing and I was spitting blood. Needless to say I did not return to this office, not for this "deep cleaning" or for any of the dental work I needed. Now I was worried that I had cavities and a tooth that needed a crown ( per the dentist examination) so I needed to find a dental office that took my insurance. I had to go to another not so Great Expressions! I then worked up the courage to try again. A friend from work suggested the Farmington Hills location, so I thought I would try it out. I wanted to schedule only an exam with the doctor but was told as a new patient I would need to see the hygienist first. I explained to the gentleman who seated me that I was very afraid and my gums were very sensitive and I didn't want to have the "poking" done. He said the hygienist would talk to me about my concerns. And so she did. She introduced herself and asked me what concerns I had about my teeth and she was told I was anxious and not to worry that she would take good care of me. She explained the "poking" and that is was a periodontal screening to see if I had periodontal disease. She explained to me what that was and showed me pictures. She put jelly on my gums and called off the numbers again only this time it didn't hurt! She showed me in the mirror while she did this the areas that were bleeding and that meant I had a gum infection! And that's why I needed the "deep cleaning" which is periodontal therapy so that my disease doesn't get worse. I truly felt she cared about my health and my teeth and she wanted to make sure I was understanding the problem that I had and the treatment I needed. I had several questions and she took her time to answer each one. I had my therapy the next week. I thank my friend for sending me here. A smile and a kind heart make all the difference, and this hygienist taught me more than just the importance of a healthy mouth, but not to judge a book by its cover. Not all Great Expressions are the same.
