Good Sam Extended Service Plan Claims dept: 888-861-8697 option #4

Called in to request a warranty claim, the person who answered the call began to explain what I have to do to file a claim, we did not make a GOOD connection, I ask for a supervisor and he first refused and then transferred me to a voice mail box. It looks like you (Good Sam warranty) does not cover out of pocket where the customer does the replacement work himself. So I have wasted my money and time to have Good Sam cover my Motorhome for break downs and repairs. I have spent hundreds of dollars on parts and labor besides a couple hundred dollars a month for the insurance warranty to get NO return of value for my efforts. I you have Good Sam extended warranty. Stop it now!

Sincerely,

Billy Kuhel (Texas America)

Claimed loss: Parts:A/c Condenser $80.06Parts:A/c Compressor replacement Kit E-450 $270.79Labor: GodSpeed Automotive LLC $293.06

Desired outcome: I'd Like a refund and apology!

Got my answer today (Thank you for reaching out. We are very sorry to hear that a Repair Facility had you skip the required and necessary process for filing a claim under your policy. As the process was skipped it is now complicating us in assisting you with reimbursement. Per the Terms and Conditions our Underwriter reserves the right to have the cause of failure identified prior to authorizing the completion of any repair.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Lockout service

This is concerning my recent experience with Good Same Roadside Assistance (GSRA) under a 3-year service contract I purchased on 3/31/2022 for $239.85, Member Number: [protected]. We were camping for 5 days at Baker Park Campground in Maple Plain, MN with 7 of our young grandchildren. On July 25, 2023, at 5:21 pm, my wife called me to say that she could not open our unlocked camper door while the keys were inside. She had just returned from the beach with our grandkids and they were wet, very hungry, and a storm was forecasted for that evening. After assessing the situation and making multiple attempts to gain access, I called GSRA and described the situation providing all the info the rep requested. The rep told me that upon locating a locksmith, I would receive a text with the company’s name, phone #, and ETA. Due to our urgent situation with small children, she said she would expedite the call (I didn’t realize that calls needed to be expedited for emergency service!)

At 6:30 pm, I received a text from GSRA that Guy’s Tow Service, [protected], was dispatched with an ETA of 60 – 90 minutes. At 7:52 pm, I called Guy’s Tow Service to determine the ETA status, but I was told that the driver was stuck in traffic and delayed his arrival time by another 70 minutes (9:10 pm)! When I asked the dispatcher where the driver currently was, where he departed from, and why the extra delays, she had no answers, then put me on hold for a while to check with the locksmith again. She came back on the phone and confirmed it was 70 minutes, but she still would not reveal anything more about all the delays! By this time, I’m very angry!

At 9:13 pm, GSRA texted me to ask if the locksmith had arrived. I said no, and then called Guy’s Tow Service dispatcher again for another ETA update. She told me that the ETA was delayed again by another 40 minutes when I told them that if he isn’t here by 10:00 pm, he will not be able to gain access to the park since the entry gate will be closed. My wife stood by the gate waiting for the locksmith until about 10:30 pm. When he didn’t arrive, she broke the door latch to get inside. I now need to replace the door latch and lock assembly. I called GSRA and cancelled the lockout service order. After hearing my ordeal and my frustrations, the rep said she would file a report of my terrible experience. I since have not received any further communications or the report from GSRA, by text or email, indicating that my case was being reviewed or receiving a copy of the report she filed. I then called Guy’s Tow Service and told the dispatcher I had cancelled the order with GSRA and was terribly angry for them lying to me about the ETA for 4 hours! The dispatcher said she would report this to her manager, and again I have heard nothing since.

I am requesting a cancellation of my contract and full refund of my GSRA payment of $239.85 plus the replacement cost of $35 to cover the replacement cost of a new door latch. GSRA is no longer a dependable emergency roadside service that I can rely on for my family.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Claim denied

I am so discouraged by our extended warranty purchase. We bought our camper in 2022 and have done all that we can to ensure it is in it's best shape. It went to Camping World in February to have a full check up to ensure it lasts for our family and that it is in tip top functioning shape. We encountered our first problem while camping for July 4th in the Louisiana heat. Our technician reaches out and tells us that both fans and the cooling unit in the fridge have failed and need to be replaced. The fans failed, causing the cooling unit to overheat and fail. Norcold won't cover the fridge since their warranty is only a year and we are 3 months past that mark. So naturally we ask Good Sam to help cover the fridge as their tag line is to pick up where manufacturer warranty runs out. Good Sam said they will only cover the fans and NOT the cooling unit because it "overheated". Keep it mind, it only overheated because the fans failed. They keep citing #8 exclusion and it makes no sense to me. Every person I talk to with Good Sam just repeats the exclusion with little to no explanation on what that means. How do you cover the part that failed first but not what failed after that?

Desired outcome: I would like someone from Good Sam to reach out to explain how this makes sense.

I am pleased to report that Good Sam reached out to our technician this morning and APPROVED the cooling unit warranty claim on my refrigerator. I am looking forward to finalizing the necessary repair work with the help of Good Sam and our technician so that we may begin enjoying our RV once again!

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Failed to honor tire and wheel warranty on a 3-year-old camper (only 2 years into a 5 year service plan).

If you are looking to buy a new camper or rv, do yourself a favor and do not buy it at camping world. Or if you have decided on a particular camper at camping world and are set on buying it do not fall for the extended service warranty. Truth is, it's not worth the paper it's printed on. On my first 2-week vacation with family in my 2020 wildwood 179dbkx camper (which had less than 2500 miles on it, my passenger side brakes and bearings burnt up on me 5 hours from home. After calling the 2 camping world's closest to me to see if a technician could look at it, or at least sell me the parts to fix it, I was told that no one was available in the service department, that a message would be left for the technician but that help was unlikely. After finding another rv dealer (in elizabethtown, pa) to see if they might have the parts (they didn't) we took apart the wheel just to see if I could limp it home and the brakes were completely destroyed. I had to take everything out of my camper and just leave it there.

I was relieved that I still had a 5-year service warranty and thought well, at least it will be covered. I've only had this camper 2 years. Nope. Even though I spent over $6500 above the purchase price of my camper in extended warranties from the slippery camping world salesman, none of this repair will be covered. And to add insult to injury, when I got on the wildwood 179dbkx facebook page, I find a host of other owners who have had the same issue, in the same timeframe, with the same passenger side brake assembly. They are denying me coverage because I didn't take it in for them to inspect this year. Yet, do you know how much stuff I had to fix myself because they didn't actually inspect it before the sale?

So whatever you do, save yourself the time and hassle and just go find a local rv dealer in your area with a grass roots following and a track record of integrity. There is one in my area (jeff johnson rv in hillsville, va) and I wish so badly I had just purchased from him. You may find a nice model rv at camping world a price that is comparable to other dealers, but what you dont understand is that they really make their money selling you bogus rv insurance they never intend to honor. They know (due to the broken rv industry) that your rv will eventually break prematurely due to poor quality control. But they fashion their contracts in such a way that they know a very small percentage will actually result in them having to honor them. And there lies the upsell. For me it was almost $6500 more. Never again.

Learn from my mistakes people, so you don't have to pay the same stupid tax that I did. Anything with the good sam name on it is a scam. Even the travel assistance, which was going to charge me $300 to tow my camper 30 minutes to the nearest dealership where my transmission was being fixed while on vacation (and this was with the highest-level protection good sam offers). A local tow truck company was only going to charge me $80... So you're better off just getting on the internet with your phone and calling someone local than dealing with a good sam call center. Despite his quote, marcus lemonis doesn't really care about your happiness. I mean, everyone is happy when other people are happy. Just know that if you are ever in a place where you aren't happy, he's still going to be happy because he just suckered you into buying 7k worth of coverage that he is unlikely to ever have to honor. Stop making morally bankrupt people wealthy.

Desired outcome: Honor my tire and wheel extended warranty protection through Elisha Ulrich at General RV Center in Elizabethtown, PA [protected]. I'm just getting started. My service agreement number is [protected]

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Extended warranty for vehicle

We have been a Good Sam family since our first RV over 20 years ago. We have most of there offered services and plans. I'm extremely disappointed in them and will NO LONG refer people to them. I purchased the Good Same Extended warranty for my Honda 5 years ago when my Honda warranty expired. Just recently my Honda was having a problem so I brought it to the shop. Turns out there was a issue with the pistons and rings that was a known Honda issue in my year vehicle. Even though the Good Sam Extended warranty says they cover Pistons and Rings they REFUSED to pay the $4000 for the issue because they had not heard of the problem before. The Service Technicians at Honda said that all other extended warranties have covered this issue, but Good Sam refused, even after getting all of the documented information on the problem. I had to pay the $4000 out of my pocket even though this should have been covered. If I had just purchased the policy I might understand as it would look like I purchased it specifically for this issue, but I've had this policy a very long time. Absolutely disappointed in Good Sam.

Desired outcome: I'd like them to cover the repair as the warranty says Pistons and Rings are covered.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Camper service agreement

My fifth wheel camper broke down in the Texas panhandle on December 31, 2022 when a wheel bearing failed, and the wheel literally fell off. I towed it to the nearest licensed repair shop for assessment of the damage, and it was determined that the spindle was ruined, and the axle needed to be replaced. After much back-and-forth correspondence with Assurant, they approved the purchase of a new axle, labor, and parts for the repair. Now they’re denying payment for the axle. I have the approval letter they issued and wish for them to honor their commitment. I have submitted the receipt for the Axel assembly to them directly.

Desired outcome: Pay for the part you approved in advance.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Vehicle extended warranty

Purchased the extended warranty for my 2018 Infiniti Q50 RS w/ (90,000 miles), second owner, after the original extended warranty plan I purchased had expired. It appeared to be a solid/reliable purchase for a good price, and I was only purchasing the warranty for just in case. I had never used an extended warranty on a vehicle in the past, but always wanted the security should major mechanical or electrical problems arise. I maintained my vehicle well, either exceeding the recommended service intervals in most cases, as well as the utilization of premium oil as well.

About 2 months months after purchasing the warranty, I performed a routine oil change, buttoned up the vehicle and took it out for a test drive, as I had with previous oil changes. While driving, I noticed a drop in power and began to hear a ticking, then a knocking noise coming from the engine.

Upon calling Good Sam, the agent listened to my problem, had me provide the particulars of where the vehicle was located, and proceeded to make liaison with the dealer. What came out of that conversation, was that my car was warrantied up to $35,000 and the dealer had a good impression that the vehicle would be repaired. The dealer calls me and tells me that Good Sam wants a tear down inspection of the vehicle, and required me to authorize it. I was skeptical, thinking that my warranty company would be handling these sorts of things with the dealer and letting me know the outcome. The initial tear down was granted, their inspector came out and declared that the tear down was not far enough. They then wanted me to request a complete tear down of the engine down to the point of failure. The dealer had already informed them of the problem, and advised me they had never had an extended warranty company ever ask for an engine tear down to that extent.

My suspicions were confirmed when it was discovered that there was a broken bearing in cylinder #6 of my vehicle, that caused the engine failure. There was a large amount of metal in the pan and that the turbos and intercoolers had been destroyed by the metal. I needed a new engine.

Calls and discussions were held with Good Sam prior to the complete tear down and the dealer was even willing to work with Good Sam on the price of a replacement and/or new engine. Unanswered calls, messages from myself and the dealer went by for some time. At no time did Good Sam over openly communicate with me or the dealer. Each interaction was met with abrasiveness and basic I don't care attitude from most customer service reps.

Upon hearing that they would not fix my vehicle, as they claimed due to a lack of maintenance, I was finally able to speak with them, and confirmed this fact. the total tear down that they required that I do, just for them to tell me no on a repair, cost me $10,000 to the dealer. It was complete waste of money because that $10K could have gone towards the purchase of a new remanufactured long block instead of going towards nothings. Good Sam added insult to injury by declining to assist me to reassemble my engine so that I could get the car out of the dealership. Bear in mind, when I say a tear down, my car took up tow repair bays just to get to the engine and have this company decline a repair.

In hindsight, it was a "hostage" situation. If I didn't do as requested, I would be stuck paying for the repair myself. If I did as requested, I had a chance based on their conversations and information that my vehicle would be repaired up to $35,000. That did not happen and I lost on both ends.

Unfortunately, Good Sam extended warranty company as a business showed me that it is one not to be trusted and will not honor a warranty in force. Their representatives looked for any and every excuse to say no, and left me with a major out of pocket bill and an extended warranty that was worthless and has since been cancelled.

Desired outcome: Provide a full or partial refund for the $9,600 cost of the two tear downs and reassembly, because it appears that you were never going to repair my vehicle from the start.

Your company took $2,891.51 from my account to renew my warranty with Good Sam. I had no intention of renewing my warranty with you! I have already gotten another warranty! I gave no authorization for these charges to made and demand a full refund. I called and spoke to Tammy yesterday and she said there should be no problem in me getting a full refund. Today however I called and spoke with Terry and she said she could refund most of my money but was keeping $50. This is crap! I want a full refund!

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Extended warranty

Purchased the extended warranty over a year ago. Was specifically told by the sales person from Good Sam's that any appliance that could not be repaired would be replaced and Good Sam's would cover the cost minus the deductible. We carried the camper in for a problem with the refrigerator.

The service depart told Good Sam's that the parts are not available for that refrigerator. Good Sam's offered to pay less than half the repair. Leaving us with over $2000 out of pocket, contrary to the initial contact from Good Sam's.

They stated it was their policy to make a judgement on exactly how much they would actually pay. This is not what they tell you in the beginning.

Compete scam. Stay away from this. Save the money. Save the time avoid the headaches.

Desired outcome: My desired outcome is they stand by their original contract

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Roadside (non) Service

RV broke down 2:30PM on a Friday. Called for assistance from our Good Sam Roadside Service.

After talking to several agents throughout the night, we realized we would be sleeping on the side of the highway that night. No one was able or willing to help. Saturday, the calls resumed. Still no help.

The final call from Good Sam was to inform us, "You are on your own (exact words)". Fortunately, a State Employee happened by about noon and stopped to help. He rounded up a mobile mechanic and got us temporarily back on the road. We submitted a claim and were told that Good Sam would cover no part of the claim.

Again, we were on our own. Not sure what you pay for with the "Roadside Service". Not any service at all. If you plan to travel anywhere besides large metro areas, find a service that actually cares.

Camping World should be ashamed of partnering with this shoddy company. Zero stars to both.

Desired outcome: Expect reimbursement

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Failure to honor my tire coverage

I have tried to contact the CEO, Marcus Lemonis 3 times. He will not respond or even acknowledge my emails. This is the initial email that sent him on 8/4/2021. Yet I continue to received marketing info with his picture in my mailbox.

Reference: Good Sam Membership Number [protected]

Hello Marcus,

After receiving the marketing material with you name and picture - see Attachment 1, we decided to reach out to you and express our extreme disappointment with the service we have received from Good Sam. Your flyer says, "If you're not happy, I'm not happy." Well, we are not happy.

We had a flat tire in Oklahoma City on 5/6/2021 while on an extended road trip. We contacted Good Sam Roadside Assistance and they came out and replaced our tire. We paid for the tire over the phone and were told that we would need to file a claim for reimbursement for the cost of the tire - see Attachment 2.

When we called to file the claim, Good Sam informed us that we did not have tire coverage under our Roadside Assistance Plan. We contacted Dianna Stepp, at National General Insurance via email and explained our situation. Dianna was the representative that sold us our Good Sam coverages. She responded to us that we did have tire coverage through our Extended Service Plan - see Attachment 3. Her email to us clearly states that we do have tire coverage. In fact, there are two emails, on two different dates assuring us that we have tire coverage.

We have the supporting documentation that Dianna provided to us when we purchased our Extended Service Plan that shows the tire coverage on the invoice - see Attachment 4.

We contacted Good Sam once again to resolve the issue. We were told that we did not have tire coverage on our Extended Service Plan, and we would need to file a claim to the review board and the board would review and decide. We filed that claim with the review board on May 13, 2021.

On June 15, 2021, we received a letter from Benjamin L. Brooker, Review Board Coordinator, Good Sam Club, indicating that our claim was being denied - see Attachment 5. After more than 30 years in management, we have never seen company letterhead that has absolutely no contact information. Good Sam is making a powerful statement using this letterhead. They are making it clear that they do not want to be contacted. This is quite a different message than what your marketing materials convey.

After receiving the denial letter, we reached out again to Dianna Stepp at National General Insurance. We were hoping that since we purchased our Good Sam coverages from her, as well as homeowners insurance, auto insurance for four autos and golf cart insurance that she might be able to help us. Dianna felt terrible about the confusion surrounding our situation and reached out to her manager for assistance to help resolve our claim. She was unable to help us.

She explained to us that although our invoice shows tire coverage, when they billed us, they only billed the amount for the Extended Service Plan. We were billed for all the other coverages we purchased that day. When we checked our bank for the charges, we did not notice that the amount Good Sam billed for the Extended Service Plan was incorrect. We understand that errors are made, however, we do not understand why we are having to pay for this error for which we were not responsible. We have documentation from Dianna that states we have tire coverage under our Extended Service Plan. How can Good Sam not honor this?

We purchased our Good Sam membership and insurance coverages in good faith. We are extremely disappointed that our experience has been anything but "GOOD."

We are currently shopping all our Good Sam coverages and looking for a more responsible travel club to help with our RV needs. We currently have nine insurance policies that we purchased through Good Sam. It is unfortunate that Good Sam is willing to lose our business over this tire claim.

We felt you needed to know, since you promote that "If you aren't happy, I'm not happy." We are not happy. Perhaps you need to consider removing this personal message from your marketing materials. It conveys a strong message that Good Sam cares about its members, when in reality, Good Sam cares about their bottom line.

Thank you for your time.

Jesse & Debbie Cann

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for the cost of the tire.

It is my opinion the Mark Lemonis may be always unhappy, and resigned to the fact so the ads are true. In a way, it is your own fault, since his name has the word "Lemon" built right in.

I really WANTED to like Good Sam, but my experiences, and the experiences of all those who have tried to submit a claim indicate this is a scam. As long as you have no serious issues, you will be happy.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Extremely long wait time

We got Good Sam RV and Roadside Assistance about 6 weeks ago. This morning my daughter got locked out of her running car in Tacoma, WA. I told her to call Good Sam Roadside Assistance. She was told the wait time would be 55-85 minutes. I called because that is not an acceptable amount of time since she's in Tacoma, not in the middle of nowhere. They told me that the company was having problems getting a driver and said they would be there in 30 minutes, which would have been an hour after the call was put in. I called again after 90 minutes after she put in the call. I was told it was going to be another 15 minutes. When they finally showed up 110 minutes after her call, the guy said they had just gotten the call. My guess is they had to switch companies. So my daughter missed over 2 hours of work. A 2 hour wait on a Wednesday at 7:45 am in a populated city is not acceptable.

I have found it does not matter who your service is from, they are at the mercy of the businesses in the area. Doesn't matter if you are AAA, Good Sam, Progressive or ACME. They work with whoever is in the area, and they really have no control. They like you to think otherwise, but it aint not true.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Cancellation

In February 2020 I signed up for an extended service plan. Did not have a claim. In January 2021 I called to cancel my plan. YOU CANNOT CANCEL ONLINE. I spoke to a young lady who assured me my renewal was cancelled. However, I did not receive an email or postal notice of the cancellation.

I received a bill in February, and assumed it was the final monthly payment. Then I received a bill in March and knew it was in error. Could not reach anyone by phone, so contested the bill with the credit card company.

Suddenly I had their attention. A gentleman called and I explained the situation. He asked for the name of the lady I spoke to. Of course I did not have this information.

He assured me I would not receive any more calls.

Today I received a cancellation notice. The cancellation date was the date he called and I "used" the February payment except a whopping $1.90!

This is a very shady business practice. I'm only pleased I didn't have a reason to make a claim and watched my bills closely.

Desired outcome: I'd like to be reimbursed for the month I was charged without coverage.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan They will make your life miserable if you want to file a claim under this service plan

Buyers beware of this extended service plan. They are extremely difficult to deal with if you try to use this plan to get your RV serviced.

My issue was a busted fresh water pipe, which they acknowledged as being covered under my plan. They asked the repair facility to call to provide an estimate, including all labor and parts, before the job could be started.

The main issue was the fact that the repair person had to open up the RV to diagnose the issue. So, they basically had to do part of the work in order to correctly do a full diagnosis. They kept telling my repair person that nothing could be done in order unless a full estimate was provided - but he had to start the job in order to get a full diagnosis of the issue.

I finally called them and the acknowledged that with an RV, you have to remove stuff in order to provide a full estimate.

Also, they require an insane amount of documentation to approve the claim. A full estimate including exact part numbers, pictures, etc. And then they threaten to send out an independent person to verify the claim.

All for a busted fresh water, plastic pipe. Everyone should be warned to not purchase this plan - instead, save your money and just bank it for repairs on your own.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Denial of coverage when your plan says you cover it!.

Had slide out problems.. The plan specifically states good sam covers slide outs. When sending in the reciepts for the work good sam said "we dont cover slide adjustments," the slide needed a new bracket, and a motor.. How do you cover a slideout when the repairman must adjust the cable and gears to make the slide go in and out evenly?. They refered me to another section of the plan that was mechanical front end or axle adjustments. Wth does this have to do with a slideout? Crooks!

Good Sam Extended Service Plan Bogus warranty

Camping world sales pitches the extended service plan as an all encompassing warranty plan that provides full coverage for any problems that arise with your rv. Buy that line and if you pushed it they will probably offer the brooklyn bridge. Obvious rv flaws, breakage, etc is never covered - do yourself a huge favor and save the money that would spend on this bogus program because with the quality of most of the junk that the american rv industry produces you are going to need your money. I want go into detail the rv manufacturer who produced the piece of junk that we purchased new but concentrate on research, research & research everything you can find about your rv. My personal advice stay away from camping world and (i'm going to name them anyways) keystone products. Special caveat about camping world - they have your rv for longer then a month for repair, parts are in and still no repairs because servicing rv that were just sold is more important then taking care of a customer there for repairs. Their extended service plan, their service department's customer treatment is a farce! This is a sad state of the rv industry today, years ago we purchased an rv from a small dealer the service (sales & after sales service) was outstanding and quality of the rv was outstanding. Buy a good tent and save your thousands of dollars.

I am disappointed in Good Sam Extended Service Plan. I have presented several RV issues to Good Sam and they have denied them all. I had two reputable business here in Nampa, Idaho who said to me, "Good luck with Good Sam. They will find a way to deny your claim and you will get nothing." I sent my complaint to Benjamin I. Brooker, Review Board Coordinator, and he denied my claim. He said, "After a thorough review of the claim submitted it has been determined that the amount requested has been denied." I have coverage with Good Sam on my house, car, pickup, boat, and RV. I am done with them and will cancel all of my coverage. Richard Mark

Submitted claim to get engine replaced. Good Sams told repair shop to keep breaking down engine to see what caused failure. Good Sams admitted that Lockers arms can cause engine failure, but keep breaking down engine when you find something to show what caused that particular break down. In the end Good Sams said they cant pay because you did not show what...
