But for now, the resolution rate doesn't show successful interaction with customers. We advise reviewers to be careful when communicating with Gold's Gym and be ready for the chance your problem might not get a response. Hello,

We're writing to let you know that we've removed your review of Gold's Gym Simi Valley. We hope you'll understand that our focus is on reviews of consumer experiences that highlight a business's core offering and that Yelp is not the appropriate forum for the allegations described in your review.

Removed Content:
so i told the csr to cancel (for a 3rd time) after telling him of several incident reports of assault and felt that i would probably get arrested when i knocked a mofo's teeth down his throat. that i'm constantly in a predatory and incubite-enabled environment where using the jacuzzi, the one thing that i do use and 1 reason why i WENT to golds gym is impossible as the rapist/predatory/pedophile environment is constantly enabled and no wonder NOT 1 FEMALE EMPLOYEE USES THE JACUZZI, NO WONDER. so then i got a "well you only get charged 3 more months of fees plus $100 fee to cancel the contract." #1 they were so eager to charge that 29 days, not 30 did they do the billing date but they also enabled a rapey, predatory, and yes very much so when and if underage girls were around were very much predated. typically it was a needy sausage fest with constant forced staring, talking @ you and treating you like chattel. even after several assault incident reports rico failed to do crap about it and then the stinky girl never took a shower and always wore her shoes in the sauna. probably pissed off and from the abuse whereshe used to get from the jacuzzi. golds gym enabled a very women hating predatory pesty and entitled sick enviornment and the dudes wouldn't shower or give you attitude if you asked them to, so gross. butt especially the environment and how it wasn't suitable for anyone young or female as the women hating culture is very known and very enabled. then they want to charge me more money when they're the ones that violated the contract. what gold's gym did was absolutely and still is libel!

You sound unhinged. I'm guessing they removed your review since it did not meet their T&C by using phrases such as "knocked a mofo's teeth down his throat" and "rapist/predatory/pedophile environment." Also please note that Yelp removed the review, not Gold's Gym.

Gold's Gym fraudulent member services - breach of contract, ripoff, lies, intimidation

Golds Gym breached the contract with me on several occasions (kept charging my credit card for services they failed to provide, such as personal training). When I called the corporate office to confront them about their fraudulent policies and cancel my membership to preclude them from ripping me off any further while breaking their side of the contract, a rep named Claudia tried to intimidate me by threatening to hang up on me and claiming that if I signed the contract, it's not their problem that the services are not being provided at the local gym and that they're not going to refund me for anything. Moreover, they'd keep on charging me for another three weeks from my initial request for cancellation. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she said that the supervisor will be sure to tell me the same thing (typical corporate mafia - they're absolutely certain to be immune to legal consequences of breaching the contracts and ripping people off against their consent).
The fitness instructor who kept failing to meet with me for our scheduled appointments ended up abruptly quitting the job at the Golds Gym because he "wasn't happy there" and because he was "discriminated against". Absorbed in his drama and tantrums, he didn't even bother to make sure that his former customers are properly "transferred" to another qualified fitness instructor. Neither did his manager(s). In the meanwhile, their corporate office keeps on charging me $130 dollars a month for these nonexistent services. No doubt the rest of his customers found themselves in the same situation and ended up being humiliated and intimidated if they dared to speak up about this fraud. Last but not least, some of the equipment in their gyms is so crammed that you can't safely get around it - they're trying to maximize on the space at the expense of clients' safety and most likely, against all pertinent OSHA, etc., regulations. Please be aware of what awaits you should you become a Golds Gym member. There are plenty of other fitness options - please boycott Golds Gym if you don't want to end up dealing with crooks. If enough people boycott them (and hopefully sue them should there be compelling reasons to do so), then, hopefully, they will not be in business for too long.

Gold's Gym Lack of payment notification - no communication (stealing money with their client)

If you are planning to be a member of gold's gym please think of 100 times!
I've been a member of gold's gym for a year. They got my credit card information in the registration day for the automatic payment. For the past 5 months they been getting $ 20.99 in my card which is my monthly dues. Then i change my credit card number which i did inform them. They did a deduction for two months with the new credit card. My fault is i didn't look on my detailed monthly credit card statement as i was confident that they do charge it monthly.
Now the collection agency called me and they told me that i have to pay the certain amount a 4 times of the dues.
I tried to call gold's gym to see what happen but apparently the guy i've been talking told me that they can't do anything about it anymore. I asked them about the notice and calls which is a standard procedure to any company but again they refuse to give the information. They just told me that they just e-mail me the notice and leave me a voicemail. No other information is provided. And they even told me to go to my telecom provider which i did by the way.
It is impossible that i missed any letter in my e-mail nor any voicemail. The number that he gave me to check with my service provider is not true either.
Just for the record i am only cancelling the membership as of this date. Because of what they did to me!
Gold's gym is a ###! They will get your money out of your pocket so beware!

Gold's Gym cancellation

My husband and I are moving overseas in two weeks, so I finally dragged myself to cancel our membership with Gold's. I worked out the other day and assumed I could take care of it on the way out. No, the servers were down.. so I assumed I could come back a few days later to do it. No, it must be done online. Their main webpage with all their gym info had zero information about canceling. I searched for answers for about 10 minutes then called my gym. You must go to goldsgymmember.com which brings you right to the page where you enter your info to cancel, the barcode that's asked for is the numbers right above the barcode on your key chain. Once I found this website it went pretty smooth. I'm aware of the 30 day notification, but I was shocked to see the prompt at the end telling me that my last payment would be one month from today, and I would have gym access for another 2 months. I'm disappointed at how misleading the "30 Day notification" is, and the fact that I started my membership at this gym, but there's no way to end it at the gym. Not everyone is computer savvy enough to find where to do this and has internet access. It should be made available in person, since they had the time to sign us up in person in the first place.

Gold's Gym personal training.

. I decided to sign up here in hopes to meet my fitness goals to get in shape. I signed up for the biggest package and began coming here daily. I had an appointment made to meet with a personal trainer that came with my membership, I showed up. We discussed personal training a bit more and the guy convinces me to sign up for a package that cost $200 dollars a month. As a student I ask him numerous times if i'm able to cancel said membership if things happen and I can't make the appointments. The employee says "that it wouldn't be a problem". I pay the first month and when I call to cancel the next month as my working hours changed and I could no longer get to the gym, I get the run around for 2 weeks. Time passes and I finally get a hold of the guy and he says that i'm locked into a 12 month agreement. He goes on to say that he informed me about this during the beginning of his presentation. This never occurred. So now i'm being forced to pay for a service I cannot receive, nor afford. This should never have to happen to anyone, it's unethical and outright just bad business. I dont know what to do. Any advice would be so helpful.

Gold's Gym gym membership & cancellation

I called to see if I was able to cancel my agreement and was told that I could because it was month-to-month, they said to come up to the gym and just fill out the cancellation letter. I went in and did so, and again, nobody said anything about me not being able to.

After noticing that I was still getting charged for my membership, I called to inquire. They said that I in fact was not month-to-month and that my membership won't end until next year and that the only thing they could do was get me to call their billing place to possibly comp the month I thought I couldn't go. (Which when I tried to do, the billing company told me I couldn't do that and needed to contact the gym...again. What a waste of freaking time)

Two people both told me and allowed me to cancel my agreement but now I can't?! This is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention that earlier last year I had to pay $20 to work out for one hour at a Gold's in the same city, but because they weren't "owned" by the same folks. Don't promote that you can use other Gold's around the country and act like it's free or an amenity.

I want my contract cancelled as I was told by two different people that I was able to and nobody called or contacted me to tell me otherwise after the fact, it's not my fault your folks told me the wrong information. I completed the cancellation...honor it.

Gold's Gym they didn't allow us to use the last visit for free

My wife and I went to Golds Gym Loveland Co. The receptionist told that we can attend their facility 7 times and only after that we could decide whether we would leave or would sign for membership. We attended the gym 6 times and one day we missed, when we came again, the receptionist stopped us and told that we needed to apply for the membership or we can go away. We asked about the last visits, but she hasn’t even responded. So, be aware.

Gold's Gym labor abuse

To whom it may concern, My name is Miguel Valencia and I was a dedicated employee of Gold’s Gym in Cusco, Peru South America. The Gold’s Gym in Cusco was the first Gold’s Gym outside of Lima. I was very excited and enthusiastic when they opened in Cusco. After a year of working for Gold’s Gym, I decided to resign to due to the low income. Afterwards, I was shocked by the mistreatment I received from management. The events that occurred have left me very disappointed. In June 2014, I started working for Gold’s Gym Cusco as the Operations Manager. In August 2015, I made the difficult decision to resign. Unfortunately, the amount of pay I received as Operations Manager was not enough for me to be able to sustain my life. As Operations Manager, I would wake up every morning at 4 am and ensure the gym was open every morning at 5:30am, without fail. I was a dedicated, trustworthy employee and exceled at my job. For these reasons I was awarded 6 month bonuses. These bonuses were equivalent to my salary for 1 month of work. I had received my bonus from June 2014-December 2014. However, when I resigned in August 2015 my management refused to give me the bonus I had earned from January 2015-June 2015. The bonus had been authorized and approved before my resignation and I still have not received compensation. This has put an extreme financial hardship on me. Since I had been promised this money, I assumed I would receive it from a company that has had a reputation of such high integrity. After resigning, I still held the company in high esteem and enjoyed Gold’s Gym facilities in spite of my disappointment in local management. For these reasons I continued my own personal fitness workouts at the Gold’s Gym. I would purchase daily passes, typically two or three days a week. One day unexpectedly, Manager Aldo Zumaeta banned me from Gold’s Gym facilities. This felt like a punch in the face to me and made me very sad. Health and fitness is a way of life and a passion for me. It was as if this life was taken out of me. I filed a local complaint and took matters to higher authorities. I have attached a copy of the complaint to this email for your convenience. After review of my case, they reinstated my eligibility to use the facilities at Gold’s Gym. I have had the privilege of visiting Gold’s Gym’s affiliated facilities in the United States. I was very impressed and have a lot respect for the company and their commitment to wellness and fitness. However, I am concerned the management here in Cusco, Peru are not meeting the Gold’s Gym standards and not representing the company in a positive manner. I appreciate your attention on this matter. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at the email address provided in this correspondence. Regards, Miguel Valencia

Gold's Gym customer service & cancellation

We will find registration in Gold Gym is very easy because they simply get your credit card, but cancellation and even customer service is something they don't care because they see that credit card going away. All customer service people explains you same thing in different manner and very rudely. They keep charging your credit card until you completely cancel it smartly. Worst experience ever. Even Managers are so rude to talk to you and not let you talk a word to prove you wrong.

Gold's Gym they again charged me for the next month, but I have cancelled the membership

I had a membership in Golds Gym East Windsor NJ. I have thought that it wasn’t worth to pay $49 for the membership, if I could find cheaper gym. I went to the gym and wrote the cancellation letter. But the manager asked to pay for the last month in cash, and I refused, because I was auto-billed. I told the manager about it and he promised to check. It was ok, but when the new month started, they charged me again. What do I need to do?

Gold's Gym membership transfer

I have had a membership with above mentioned gym for several months, i was no longer able to continue the membership and asked if there was a cancellation fee, which i was advised no but i can find someone to do a membership transfer.
It took me 2 months but finally i found someone, we went in to do the transfer at which time the manager then told us it must be a NEW member only not a previous member.
I asked to speak to the higher up manager in which i was told again the same thing, i asked to show me where in the contract does it mention that the membership transfer must be to a NEW member only. She was not able to provide me any document that states this, the only notes on the contract is that it is at the discretion of the manager. They have refused to assist me in anyway, i have tried to make arrangements and they refuse to co-operate.
I called another Gold's Gym in Beacons field and spoke to the manager there, she told me at her gym they make exceptions like this all the time and that the manager at Saint Laurent location is being unreasonable.

Gold's Gym refund

I am so tired of the run around I am getting with Gold's Gym. I signed up to begin personal workouts with a trainer in December. I was informed that my bank card would not be debited until my membership fee went through which a week later, and I would begin my workout the following week after the fee was drafted. This did not happen! Gold's Gym ran my bank card 2 days later. I called to report. Thankfully the manager at Norman Gold's Gym did assist and advised the refund would be taken care of. She provided me an email indicating the refund would process on December 15, 2014. I waited for the check, nothing after Christmas. I figured the mail was running late due to the holidays. New Year's Eve still no check. I called the customer service people on January 9th, 2015 and questioned what happened with the check. They advised it was sent to my OLD address on file. Apparently, they did not update my address 6 months prior when I requested. I was told an email would be sent to the supervisor to re-issue a check but I had to wait 7-10 business days. Again I wait, I call on January 26, 2015 (the 7-10 business days passed) and I am told the supervisor is still waiting on a response. The customer service people are rude and not helpful. They say they will transfer to a supervisor voice mail since there are no supervisors available which is ludicrous! I have left several messages and each time I call they tell me someone will return my call. I have to receive a phone call from anyone and still have no idea when or if I will receive my refund check! Gold's Gym needs better customer service!

Gold's Gym cancellation without contract

Do not sign up with goldds gym! Golds gym is horrible. My contract was finished over 2 years ago, and it went on to automatic rollover (I did not resign). I want to cancel now and it will take 91 days, yes 91 days from the first day of the next payment cycle after the receive a cancellation letter, and it must be express mailed. So this could take a solid 4 more months of payments. Pretty crappy deal seeing as I am not breaking my contract and its been finished for years.

Gold's Gym cancellation

I tried to cancel from this gym ever since I got horrible ring worm using one of their "clean" towels. It took me months to treat the ringworm and when my mother tried to cancel my membership (Im on a family plan) they told her that I must be on site to do the cancellation in person myself. That was absolute ### because I went to the location in person to be told repetitively that they don't do cancellations in the gym. The guy working at the registration desk was the same guy who signed me up. I remember he had a lot of enthusiasm to sign me up, but was extremely neglecting when it came to cancellation. He basically gave me no more info than a scribbled out phone number, and just repeated again and again that they don't do cancellations in the gym. So basically they blatantly lied to my mother and wasted my time. I called the number at home to find that it was not the branch number but some other number that is owned by a different franchise from the Fullerton golds gym. I was told on the phone that I should call my gym to get their local franchise number and the customer service guy (Sergio I think) just hung up abruptly as if he was sick of it. By now I expected this horrible customer service. On top of that once I got the franchise number I called to find out that their offices were CLOSED INDEFINITELY. I called the Fullerton golds gym AGAIN to get more excuses that they were off on the 24th to 25th and that I should try calling on Friday and "see if that works", which I highly doubt. I didn't want to waste time so I looked all over the web for cancellation methods. I finally found a YouTube video explaining to go on a specific golds gym url. I followed the url and entered all my info (barcode number, name, etc) only to get am error on the official website. I'm so frustrated and fed up with this entire system, it's like their making me run around in endless circles. I'm either redirected or sent to a dead end and I know I'm not the only one having cancellation issues. There's numerous people online who are were getting scammed by golds gym as well. This gym is not only disgustingly unsanitary but extremely questionable in their means of client support and service.

Gold's Gym refund /cancellation

Me and my wife had joined the gold gym (Al Musaalla branch)on 5th of Aug, 2014.
My wife was advised by doctor to discontinue gym as she got pregnant and we immediately applied for cancellation of the membership(031299) as on Aug 15, 2014.
We had submitted all the original document at the front desk. One frequent check with the Manager at Gold Gym Al Mussalla tower we were informed the document has been sent to head office and is in the process. on subsequent weeks while following up found out that your member had lost the document.
I immediately submitted a duplicate copy of the same on 3 sep 2014 and was informed it be refunded immediately.
In the month of November when i approached they said i will get a call about my refund and till date i have not received any call from your headoffice nor concerned branch
It has been more than 5 month and still there has been no progress.
I have had read the refund policy and am rightful for refund of the entire amount form Aug 15 2014.

Gold's Gym membership fee refund

Hello
I am Vivek Yadav, a member of Gold's Gym. A member that has never worked out a single day at Gold's. I submitted the membership fee at "Gold Fitness Pvt. Ltd." Thakur village, Kandivali East, Mumbai on 09-07-2014, to a guy named Mr. Hemant Vishwakarma.
He handed me a slip and a brochure of Gold's and told me that after 2-3 days your ID card will come and you can start working out. (He never disclosed that the tenure of my membership i.e 12 months will start with immediate effect)
After that due to ill health I was not able to go to the gym, as Doctor suggested me to take rest. Due to my ill health I got my job transfer done to Pune. So after two months when I went to the gym for an enquiry about the transfer of membership to Pune, they told me that the day you submitted the fee, your membership starts, which means I will be getting only 10 months instead of a Year.
So I just want to ask you that if I have not used any services or any equipment at Gold's why I should be paying for two months, also the fee at Pune is almost double to which I paid in Mumbai.
Why do you guys call it a Membership? Do u really think that you guys care for your members?
I paid the membership free around three months back and never attended a single session at Gold's, Kandivali East, but the gym never called up for asking why I am not coming to the Gym.
I received a very clear message from Gold's i.e. "You pay for the Membership n go to hell, we don'tcare"
I always wanted to be a part of Gold's gym but this incident left an negative impact on me. So this is to request you to please cancel my membership from your gym and to refund the membership fee as I can't pay another INR 10000 for transfer at Pune.
Details of membership :-
Name- Vivek Yadav
Membership No :- 125016
Location :- Thakur village, Kandivali East, Mumbai

Gold's Gym discrimination/unprofessional

The Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is ruining the Gold’s Gym brand. During the past four months I’ve been attempting to get employed there as a personal trainer. My first interview was with Scott, he’s the director, I believed the interview went really well; however, I did not get the job. A couple months later I reapply for the position and Scott interviews me again, informs me that he will be in touch with me in couple days. Two WEEKS later he tells me that Gold’s Gym is on a “hiring freeze” and I cannot be hired at this time.

I find that hilarious because the next day, Gold’s Gym Pittsburgh posts an ad on Craigslist for a training director. Teusday November 4th Scott called me to once again be interviewed for a Personal Trainer position, this is the third time. This time I interviewed with a training director named Tom. He said he was interviewing people all day and if the company was interested I could expect a call by the end of the day, I did not get a call.

I am not so spoiled as to expect to be hired just because I am dual certified by NASM or NPTI, or because I have ten years total experience. What upsets me is that after the first or second interview Scott knew he did not want to hire me for whatever reason, there was no need to make a fool out of me for a third time. I’ve Loved Gold’s ever since I was in high school and worked out at the Paramus NJ location, but Scott has made it impossible to want to work there in any position.

The most pathetic experience ever, firstly they would endure you by saying that they have have these very good services, secondly they won't bother wether you are coming to the gym or not and if you are coming then these trainers are worst. They already have a bad reputation in the market and the trainers are worst... They will charge you heavily and make all the fake promises which will never be ammended or fulfilled by them... Pathetic gym, please don't waste your precious money on this # gym services... Staff is all uneducated from reception to managers. They are not humans just money bugging buggers, all they need is your money... #

Gold's Gym hospitalized

My wife decided to see a personal trainer at golds gym west Edmonton . He charged her 85$ per session. With 8 sessions having to paid up front. She is a new comer to the gym world so needed advice. Her first time he pushed her to the point of being sick and kept pushing her. She was admitted to hospital two days later with what's called rhabdo. Essentially An extreme over training that can lead to kidney failure. She contact the trainer, he said he'd never heard of it! (It's fairly common knowledge) the refuse to refund her money for the other sessions. This trainer goes by the name drake. Keep your eyes peeled for this POS
