GoDaddy domain/email

One of the lovely sales people at GoDaddy convinced me to switch from email using Workspace (outdated) to Office 365. Worst mistake ever made. She didn't tell me to backup my Workspace email which led to GoDaddy having to do migration for me. Then after that was done...my website stopped working. My website is hosted by Wix. GoDaddy keeps blaming Wix and Wix is blaming GoDaddy for setup issues. My website has been down for SEVEN DAYS now without any resolution and every time I speak to someone, they say "that should fix it. It will work now". IT'S STILL NOT WORKING. Lesson learned...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Last time I upgrade something with GoDaddy and once this works, I will transfer service because I'm sick of calling them every day without resolution. I am losing money each day that it is down.

GoDaddy auctions & customer service

Godaddy.com not a good service at all. When I call customer service, the do not know the answers, they put me on hold for 15 or more, and again there is no right answer, because they do not know and auctioneers. I sold the host 2 domains, 20 days, we did not pay and changed the price in their favor that they should have to pay me. I called them three times a day and sent many emails but nothing helped. I sent the email to MR. Blake but he did not reply.
They sent me to renew my domains if they have already been renovated. One domain is missing from my list. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE, they are lying

GoDaddy refund policy

5/16/16 I signed up for web hosting with Go-DADDY on 4/14/16, which is what I was told I would need to have a website. I am now working with a web designer that told me to cancel my web hosting as they do that as part of my price.

So I called to cancel or at least get an adjustment for my 2 year contract. I was told that because I was out of the refund policy period that there was nothing they could do. 30 days, as you can see I am 2 days out.

I was willing to pay for the time that I had "no used", but 2 years for something I won't use at all?

GoDaddy web hosting and dns

I set up a .au domain in Feb, 2016 and immediately transferred the domain management to GoDaddy and a couple of days later the domain was available and I started work on it. After 3 months, I linked a logo to my paypal account and paypal kept coming back and not displaying the logo, so I connected to my site to find out that the site was not available and "coming soon" and having prepaid 2 years of hosting I contacted support by phone. After being advised that I had a 20 minute wait I started up a chat session and after a couple of minutes I was on to an agent.

The agent did some research and found that my DNS record was pointing to the DNS servers for the registrar that I originally transferred the domain from to GoDaddy. Now because the registrar was no longer authorised to manage my DNS record I was basically provided with a "coming soon" page.

Whilst chatting with the GoDaddy support person I said that I wanted to have someone explain to me how my DNS record was changed and I was told that they do not do that and then asked if I had another question to ask, so I said yes. I wanted to escalate this problem immediately with that person's supervisor. Whilst waiting for the supervisor I logged in to the GoDaddy Domain Manager page and I saw exactly what I was told, my DNS was pointing to the original registrar's DNS server so I changed it to the default DNS servers for GoDaddy web hosts. Anyway I got on to the supervisor and by now I was able to reconnect to my site as GoDaddy's records were fixed. This also proved that the error that had been in place for 3 days was not propagated as I could access the site immediately. Then I was told by the supervisor that their records claim that there was no change to my record and that the DNS records had not been changed at all and this really go me mad as my site was down for who knows how long and it was the result of an error at GoDaddy, so how is it possible that no-one there cares. So, I asked for this to be escalated again and got the "Front of Site chat/Online Experience department supervisor". The supervisor was very slow, barely provided any information and then came back and said that the records were unchanged and the only changes DNS are the one I originally made 3 months earlier when I transferred the domain to them and the change I had made today and there was no record that the domain was pointing to the wrong DNS servers. Well I was horrified by this and I could not understand how they could not be concerned about this as if this could happen to one site, couldn't it happen to many sites?

Anyway, after a long circular argument I was told that I someone who had access to my account must have made the change (even though there is no record of this change on their audit logs), does anyone else see the problem or is it only me?

Had pretty much the same kind of problem w/ Godaddy. Found my website pointing to some totally different website in Cali. I contacted the other website admin, also a Godaddy client, she had no clues and was equally distressed over Godaddy claiming total ignorance over how this occurred. Godaddy blamed me for sharing my password but then having no record of changes. This was a website i had up for years and never messed w/ the config defaults, DNS or otherwise, after it was configured. I think the biggest pissssser is that Godaddy had me VERY concerned that my local system or Godaddy account had been compromised...yet there was NO other sign of such.

It would have been soooo much more honest to have said, "we screwed some things up w/ some sites in the process of a system conversion/upgrade" which i think i finally deduced after multiple conversations w/ different people. They didn't know they were telling me that, but they should have just come out and said it since there is no doubt they had other calls like yours and mine. Of course it could of been a breach of THEIR system for all i know...but i assume much worse would have happened than having my domain point to some random dog grooming shop.

Why am i just posting this on your complaint? Well, I'm here because i just bought a new domain from Godaddy and found that i can't have a custom Coming Soon page unless i pay for their simple website builder which use to be included. So the default Coming Soon is a Godaddy "Parked Page" ad that i can't get rid of ! This outfit has gone down hill from being customer-centric.

GoDaddy customer service department

Hi,

I am a customer of Godaddy who faced a login problem issue on godaddy website as well as Office Email.

Username is: sudhirknair89
Customer Number is: [protected]

I spoke to Godaddy today (24-Apr-16) and an executive called Naveed (Denied giving full name). This guy was in a hurry and was giving me a reason for not logging in was my number was in DND hence i wont get a two-step authentication code however when i told him that i am already receiving it which in fact i gave him at the start of the call.

He kept giving excuses like the code coming into mobile should be incorrect as my number is in DND. Then when i made him understand his foolishness he kept me on a long hold 10-12mins saying that he is discussing with US Office for this issue. Now he did abuse me using a hindi word (B#e%$%^CD) however not loud and when he resumed the call he did fixed my issue however when i told what about my email login i hope he got frustrated and disconnected my call without fixing my issue.

The second call landed to Nandini (Nandu) she was very impressive and fixed my issue very well with great efforts and i am really thank full to her.

I would like go-daddy to listen to both the calls very well and do the needful both of them.

If it doesn't happen then i would be lodging a complaint for abusing.

I sent this email to [protected]@godaddy.com however they replied (We no longer provide support via email)

Regards,
Sudhir Nair

GoDaddy ridiculous 5 day policy

I have purchased a domain from godaddy and the site was nice but it was extremely slow and that was completely unacceptable. I decided to return it and asked for a refund and that is when I understood how terrible and unprofessional they were. Their reps were incredibly rude and impolite! They told me that there are only 5 days to return the domain and refused to give me a refund. I told them that it was their fault that my site was super slow and I did not pay for that kind of service. And what's this all about 5 days? I thought it was a joke or something because I never seen a 5 day policy! No normal company does that! I did not get my money back but i'll make sure to tell everybody about these scammers!

GoDaddy web hosting

Hi this is to leave my review against leading domain hosting provider - GoDaddy. I am an online book seller - onlyschoolbooks.com and from India. I must say I am surprised to experience disgusting service of GoDaddy India team. Most of the time My website is down due to their never ending maintenance service.I took the service of ‪#‎GoDaddy‬ as I thought they are really as they claim to be. But after using them for 4 months now, I am shocked. My fellow merchants also keep complaining about GoDaddy and most of them have moved their hosting.Whenever I try to call them and follow up about an existing open issue, they take details all over again and this will go on. I am waiting for my one year to get over and then I will move if nothing change. This post is to warn small merchants and businessmen trying to host on GoDaddy. Its your hard earned money so beware.

GoDaddy domain name expired

Customer #:1836119
My domain name expired. They wanted to charge me $95 to renew it.
I said screw it, I can get a new domain that's essentially one letter difference for $11.99. But of course I will need to change the URL on my flyers, business cards etc. But there is a principle here. I refuse to let them exploit the situation. I have registered over 100 domain names and spent in excess of $2000 since 2003 with GoDaddy.com. For them to treat a long term client such as myself this way, is disgraceful. I refuse to be taken advantage of and exploited!

GoDaddy web hosting

Dear Sir,
We are based in India.
I am using hosting service for 1year and have registered 3 doamins on godaddy. But my website has been completely deleted 2 times in last 4months. You customer care do not take any responsibility and when I discussed with some professional he suggested to change the server.
It is very sad that despite being paid as per your fee I have to switch my server.
There is a direct loss to us if the website stops working and mental torture.
If you care for your small customers, I request you to take strong stance to resolve my issue.
Your servers are extremely vulnerable to hackers.
Our website: www.qualever.com(all files deleted 3days back and the log shows hacking programs easily cracking into our site)

GoDaddy stole 33fit.com

I got an email stating my domain 33fit.com was renewed for 9 years and charged 136.53.

So I called Go-daddy and informed them I did not make this transaction.

They said the only way to refund was to cancel the domain, which I did not want to do, I only had the domain for 3 months.

GoDaddy webmail service on lost emails

GoDaddy has a problem with the server they were hosting one of my Web sites and its emails using their Webmail. In late August 2015, I could not access my Webmail or would get bumped out of it. I called a few times on that week. They finally fixed the issue. In October 2015, I noticed that all my emails in the SENT folder since 2001, the year I had started that Webmail service for the same domain name were completely wiped out as in GONE!
Two days ago on January 29, 2016, I noticed that my emails in my Inbox, all the received emails, from prior to 2012 are also gone.
I conferenced in my IT guy with them this week. The determination is that GoDaddy must have known about the problems, yet it did not advise me and possibly thousands of others on the same server. Also, GoDaddy may have wiped out the emails intentionally so as to open up space in its servers. With its volume, this would save it money on purchasing more servers.
In my objective assessment, GoDaddy has been very callous and extremely unhelpful throughout all this. They are not admitting any mistake, although this is their server. I believe they know if they admit it, it would open up a Pandora's box. They were negligent in communicating the issues to me and others. As soon as they lost emails, their advanced IT staff must have known about it. It is impossible that they did not because there is an email log generated for every single email that goes in and out of a server.
GoDaddy changed its policy of being able to restore a server back to 60-90 days to only 14 days a few years ago, yet they never communicated this incredibly important policy change to any client. The reason a company would change this policy is to provide protection for itself from situations like this and claim it did all it could.
GoDaddy's terms of service that a customer has to provide its own backup does not authorize it to delete or lose emails particularly when I, and many others, are paying for unlimited space.
I and others have every right to have known if my emails were affected. All these are business-related emails to the tune of approximately 60, 000-80, 000 emails. The loss to me is HUGE.

I know there must be a lot of others with this issue. We can start a class action law suit that may not bring back our emails, but it can send a message. If you have experienced the same problem, please, please email me at [protected]@gmail.com ASAP. Thank you.

The company is playing blackmailing tactics it seems to get more and more money from its customers which is very serious lapse. They told me that they can try to get retrieve but asked me to pay 5000 rupees for the same. Customers/ Consumers whether free or paid cannot be subjected to such kind of bad service. If they are not able to provide free service, they can ask us to pay something or stop service with prior notice. Deleting emails straight away arbitrarily is nothing but cruelly playing with the businesses of their customers. This will lead to loss of customers faith and such kind of service providers will be wiped out from the market over a period of time.

GoDaddy unable to use my domain name on facebook, after changing companies.

Margaret Robertson
Customer Number

Username
margaret.robertson1969

I made a call to Go Daddy today 30th January 2015. I used the Glasgow Number from your website and was put through to a man called Nathan from your customer services department at 1.22pm UK time.

I told Nathan my problem which was that I have a domain name called margaretrobertson.info and margaretrobertson.net. The problem I am having is with my domain margaretrobertson.info.

The problem is that I have changed companies from Empowernetwork to Jeunesse Global. I changed my domain over through your website but have been unable to use my domain name on Facebook as it is being blocked.

I spoke to your customer services department on 2 occasions prior to today's call and was very pleased with the customer care I was given. The person I spoke to the 2nd time I called advised me to contact Facebook as they could not do anymore from Go Daddy.

I contact support on Facebook and was sent an email from them a few days later that said there was nothing they could do as the problem was with the Go Daddy servers.

I explained this to Nathan, he asked me my facebook address which is https://www.facebook.com/margaretrobertson.info.

I was put on hold as Nathan said he would try to fix the problem. He came back after sometime and informed me that he seemed to have got my domain name working on my Facebook page.

I informed him at this time that I also have a business page and enquired if my domain name would work on both pages. My public page and my business page. He started to sound very irritated by my questions and said I could only have my domain name on one page so which one did I want it on.

I questioned him further about why I could not use my domain name on both Facebook pages. He continued being irritated and speaking to me in a manner that was very unhelpful and unnecessary. I addressed this by saying I did not like his attitude towards me, that I am a paying customer and that I am only looking for some help. He said he did not care what I thought and continued with his disconcerting attitude. I at this point asked him his name and he said Nate and I said I would like both your first and second name please. He said my name is Nathan and that's all your getting. At this point the call finished.

I feel the customer care I was give today was not up to the standard I normally would receive from Go Daddy customer services. I am also appalled that one of your customer service representatives would speak to any customer in that manner.

And to cap it all off my domain name still does not work on my Facebook page.

I trust that Go Daddy will investigate this matter with the upmost urgency. I would also like my domain name fixed so I can still use it on Facebook or some other alternative that Go Daddy suggests for example giving me a new domain name that I can use at no cost to me.

With Regards
Margaret Robertson

GoDaddy domain name vs website builder

After seeing the Advertisement on TV, it made me buy a Website. but while going thru the GoDaddy Website for purchase process, they directed to purchase Domain Name ( INR 702 ) and later after doing multiple email verifications they again redirected me to buy a Website Builder for INR 1188 . ( Go daddy try to misuse my Ignorance. Myself, being a teacher and proficient in Computers Science ) Business Ethics is not exploiting the Ignorance of Individuals ! Business Ethics should be > Create Awareness, Educate, Meet the Demand, Guide on Benefits and finally close the Sale. Will Go Daddy take necessary steps to address this Gap. ? GoDaddy won't honor shopping reward / credit

After making a purchase, I received "SAVE $10.00 +/- on your next order of $50.00 or more! Keep Shopping". There were no special Terms & Conditions, and the only clickable link was "Keep Shopping". I kept shopping, upon checkout (new $86 order), I never received the $10 SHOPPING reward. So, I contacted GoDaddy using their "chat". Their Customer Service is useless and could not figure out how to apply the $10 credit, and refused to let me chat or talk with a supervisor... Since GoDaddy removed their "problem tracker", and replaced it with "chat" they only have canned responses, and are totally useless!

GoDaddy website hosting / authorisation changes

Customer number [protected] Over the last few months, one of my websites disappeared offline completely then mysteriously came back several months later. I have not authorised anyone else to access my account, yet someone keeps changing billing details, email contacts as well as controlling the access to my wordpress websites. I have tried to contact Go Daddy several times recently, being cut off on the phone or being disconnected whilst online chat in a hope of finding out who and why someone is authorising things on my hosting account. I am extremely unhappy with this and if I do not get a resolution asap, I will be taking my complaint to the UK press and Watchdog for further investigation. I own a reputable company and do not appreciate this kind on intrusive behaviour I would appreciate this matter is looked into as Go Daddy should not be allowed to authorise anyone to access my account Kind Regards Vicky LLoyd

GoDaddy cpanel hosting

Go Daddy Lost a date range of emails from my CPanel email. Very specific date range - Jan26 through Oct19 2015 at 1pm PST Go Daddy only Holds a single SNAP shot restore point The restore snapshot Go daddy had on file was after the mysterious loss of files (within hours of the lost files actually or perhaps at the Exact time) a) Is Go Daddy's single snap shot policy looking after the interests of its customers. A single mistake/error in that go Daddy SNAP shot backup process could partially or entirely wipe clients email files and other directories; leaving ZERO fall Back In my case it is almost certain that something went wrong and I am left with 500+ emails that Go Daddy vanished The information I had for Go Daddy technical staff was Current and very specific; within hours of the Data being lost off their server. There is no doubt in my Mind Go Daddy Technical staff could have followed this further. There must be some other back-ups/ disaster scenario backups in place than the stated single snap shot file; I believe I was misled/ brushed off. If I was not being missled or brushed off, then my advise to Go Daddy users and anyone thinking of using Go Daddy BEWARE and make complete/full back-ups through the Cpanel backup wizard on a Daily Basis
