Getaroom unethical behaviour

I was promised twice by the agent that I would have a refrig. When I called the hotel to make sure it was set up there is no refrig's for this room. I then complained to Get A Room and asked for a refund as I need a refrig for my medicine. They said they would not issue a refund but would give me a small credit. I never received the small credit after numerous attempts to contact them by E mail that they never responded and by phone which I was given the run-around.
They also didn't clearly tell me the other fees I was charged for, and that I would be responsible for even more fees at the hotel. This is a scam!

Getaroom unauthorized charges

I reserved rooms with Get-A-Room online and never received email confirmation regarding the reservations. Reservations were made approximately three months in advance. I waited for an email. Checked the junk box. Nothing. Several days before the reservation date, I needed to cancel. I was within the timeframe; however, I had not email confirmation and did not know where to start. I called the number on my credit card statement, as they had already charged the $1, 000. The phone number on the credit card statement was just a recorded voice. There was no way to get through to anyone to cancel my reservation. I contacted American Express, where the charge was made. They tried and could not help me. Get-a-room told American Express that my claim was fraudulent. I missed the cancellation window and could not get my money back. I tried to contact Get-a-room but was not able! I had no email confirmation, which Get-a-Room consistently ignored. Next, I contacted the hotel where the reservation was for. They did not have my reservation at all! So, I could not cancel.
I have contacted Get-a-Room at least 8 times by phone or email. I was told to write a letter explaining my issue. Meanwhile, the time period to cancel the reservation so I could get a refund had past. Get-a-room kept $1, 000! They are not responding to my emails. Do not ever, ever use this company. I am out $1, 000! I would like my money back. Elizabeth Baroi

Getaroom hotel booking scam

I thought I was booking a room at the Hampton Hilton at Liverpool Airport and was happy with the price quoted. It was only after I entered my card details that the final price appeared with an extra charge applied! Disgraceful behaviour and very deceitful. I rang the number on the page and was told that it was nonrefundable and not able to cancel. Reservation Confirmation #R1585216098. I rang the hotel and they told me the booking was made by a third party, . I registered a complaint and was told that it can take the third party company up to 7 days to respond. I hope you are ashamed of yourselves for misleading people and overcharging them like this.

Getaroom hotel booking

Getaroom is Awful!
Booked a room through getaroom which utilized Priceline so paid a giant mark up on the hotel cost then the Wyndham hotel wanted to refund my stay 100% because the reservation was a total disaster yet getaroom only refunded me 50% despite providing the documentation from Wyndham stating refund me completely. Terrible to deal with, horrible customer service, one-sided communication, adversarial. I pray they go out of business. Completely unethical.

Getaroom being charged $1,280.56 for rooms I did not book

I tried to book 2 rooms April 25 - 30, 2019. There were no rooms available, however, I was charged for 2 rooms May 25 - 30, 2019. I never booked any rooms for May. On April 24, 2019 I tried to book 2 rooms in Indianapolis for April 25 - 30, 2019 as my Uncle passed away & I needed to get from New York to Indianapolis immediately. The beginning of the call with getaroom announces that you will be on a recorded line. The representative said she was able to book those dates and asked for my credit card information. After giving her my information, she repeated back to me the booking would be for ( MAY 25 - 30, 2019). I immediately told her NO, I'm leaving tomorrow & need these rooms for April, not May. She then tried to find me 2 rooms for the correct dates but was unable to. The representative then said she was sorry & unable to help me & we ended the phone call. When I arrived back to NY, I went online to Discover.com to check my credit card transactions. That's when I saw charges from getaroom for $1, 280.56 for the incorrect (MAY) dates which I never booked. I immediately called their 800 number to point out their mistake & have the charges reversed. I was told their policy is non-refundable bookings. My issue is that I never booked anything with getaroom. When I realized they would not refund my money, which were fraudulent charges, I reached out to Discover to begin charge back proceedings. During this period of time getaroom provided Discover with a fake document & confirmation number in order for the charge back to be reversed & for the credit to go back to them. Because of this fake document, Discover did reverse the original credit & is now charging me $1, 280.56. I have called getaroom numerous times & asked for them to provide the original recording which will prove I never booked any rooms with them. Every time I call getaroom they promise they will listen to the original recording. It is now July 12, 2019 & this matter has still not been resolved.

Getaroom gross over charge of fees for motel reservation

My name is Albert Craft. On July 9, 2019 I thought I Quality Inn's reservation service to make a reservation for Oct 21-24, 2019 but I ended up with Getaroom.com (which I didn't find out until I received my email confirmation). My reservation number is R1566682301. The representative who took my call advised that I was being given a rate of $350.55 for the 3 nights plus taxes. I was advised that this was a "guaranteed best rate with at least 15-25% discount". I was also told that to get that guaranteed best rate the room would be non-refundable. If I wanted a refundable rate I would have to pay more money. After I agreed to the non-refundable rate and provided my credit card info, I received an email stating that the taxes and "recovery charges and service fees" was $157.22 additional. After checking the actual hotel web site, I discovered that the taxes and fees totaled about 30% of what getaroom.com charged me. Getaroom.com charged nearly an additional 50% of the hotel rate instead of discounting it. I believe this is blatant deception and I that I should be refunded a significant portion of those fees.

I just got off the phone with the Quality Inn in Gatlinburg and was told that the total for my room was $329.13 including taxes and fees. That means that getaroom .com charged me $178.64 more than the motel itself would have charged me if I had gone to them directly. I expect a refund of most of the extra charge!

Getaroom excessive and erroneous hotel charges

Two rooms were booked for an employee training in April. The room charges were more than $100 per night more what they would have been if booked directly through the hotel, AND we were charged sales tax, which we should not have been since we are 501(c)(3) organization with a sales tax exemption in Florida.

We request an immediate refund of the excessive room charges ($119 per room, per night, totaling $476) as well as an immediate refund of the sales tax of $329.69 ($164.84 for 1 room & $164.85 for the other).

Getaroom getaroom.com/cci hotel reservations

On June 16, 2019 I thought I called Comfort Inn in Fort Mill, SC to make a reservation for June 23, 2019 but I ended up with Getaroom.com (which I didn't find out until I received my email confirmation). The representative who took my call advised that I was being given a rate of $135 for one night plus taxes. I was further advised that this was a "guaranteed best rate with at least 15-25% discount". I was also told that to get that guaranteed best rate the room would be non-refundable. If I wanted a refundable rate I would have to pay more money. After I agreed to the non-refundable rate believing it was in fact the best rate at a discount price, I received an email advising me the taxes and "recovery charge" was $60.10. Upon arrival at the hotel, I discovered that the room rate with taxes and safe service fee totaled $129.07. Getaroom.com charged an additional 50% of the hotel rate instead of discounting it. I attempted to call the customer service number and as soon as I asked to speak with a supervisor, the representative pretended she couldn't here me anymore and said the line kept going in and out. I repeated the word supervisor many times before ending the call. I believe this was fraud and I that I should be refunded the difference of $66.03. Additionally, it is extremely poor customer service when you can't reach a supervisor/manager when you have a complaint.

The confirmation # is R1539557896. It is true the representative disclosed the room rate of $135 and the non-refundable cancellation policy, however, the $60 tax and recovery charges was not disclosed during the phone call other than $135 "plus taxes". I discovered the $60 recovery charge on receipt of the confirmation email at which was too late. Rest assured that there was no "discounted" rate provided by you as the hotel room rate with taxes was less than your room rate before taxes.

Getaroom booking hotel room - exorbitant service fees

I booked 4 rooms for an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Germantown/Gaithersburg, MD, for a total of $636.80 (advertised as $159.20/room).
After the trip I discovered that I was also charged $239.88 for "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees". I called getaroom and they said those charges and fees were for the luxury services. When I asked what that was, she said "cleaning the room". I said I thought that's what the room charge was for and asked to speak with her supervisor. Couldn't do that, "it's system generated". I asked for her supervisor about 5 times and got nowhere.

Getaroom Hotel reservation thw I did not make

I got my visa bill and there is a charge for $127.77, for a hotel which I did not make. I have tried all the phone numbers and the only one that works is 1-800-337-7375. I cannot get the stupid machine to connect me with customer service or a representative. The machine keeps telling me there is no reservation with either of my phone numbers. I never received any sort of confirmation email.
The entry is for 5/9/2019, posted to my credit card 5/11/2109. Reference number: 24692169129100089626303.
Kindly remove this charge! Have no desire to have to shut down my credit card and wait 10-14 days to get a new one.

My situation as follows: THIEVES!

O made a reservation through this link to stay at the Cartagena Hilton it mentioned a No cancellation fee if cancelled the reservation 1 day before arrival, I tried To canceled through the link, I even called the hotel and they insisted I had to cancel directly on the link which was impossible to reach nor written or by phone. Nobody answers! I even called the bank and had my credit card cancelled.

Getaroom falsified booking through getaroom and reservation desk

i have been scammed! I did not reserve my room through Priceline, getaroom.com or Reservation Desk and do not know what CCI*Hotel Reservation is, which is what appears as the charge on my credit card.

I ONLY reserved a room directly through JW Marriott and somehow it was run through Reservation Desk with Getaroom.com as the third party. I have been told it was booked through Priceline. None of this makes any sense since I only contacted JW Marriott directly.

The kicker is the resort assured me I would not pay resort fees because my window was covered with plastic and construction woke me up every day. I want a refund on any fees I have paid through Getaroom as I was promised by the resort.

Getaroom misleading/unethical behavior

I thought I was booking a room through the Holiday Inn, Oneonta, NY directly. Once I arrived in Oneonta, I couldn't find the Holiday Inn. There was however, a Holiday Inn Express but they didn't have my reservation. They said that there use to be a Holiday Inn down the road but it has since been changed to a Quality Inn. I called the Quality Inn to cancel my reservation, (I wanted a Holiday Inn because I am a rewards card member), and they said no problem and I wouldn't be charged. The booking and cancelation all happened in a time frame of 10 minutes.
I received my credit card statement and there was a charge for $151.79 for the room. I called the hotel and they said it wasn't their charge and it was then that I realized that I was dealing with a 3rd-party reservations company. The hotel said that the room would have been $89. GETAROOM charged me over $150!
I contacted customer service at GETAROOM and they said they would look into the matter. Two months later, they sent my bank an email saying they will not issue me a refund due to the clearly stated cancellation policy. A week later they send me an email saying that they will refund my money, but in an email the very same day, they said they will not.
My problem with this whole issue is not the cancellation policy, it's the fact that they had the wrong hotel listed on the website (which again looked like the regular Holiday Inn website). I have since gone back to the website, however after two months, GETAROOM now lists the correct hotel.

Getaroom cci hotel reservations

I was charged $386.57 on 5/28/19 on my debit card. I never agree to a reservation nor did I ever use your reservation. I am on disability with very limited income and now my husband has liver cancer. I was just trying to find somewhere to stay during his time in the hospital under going surgery.
I have patiently waited for a supervisor to call me, but after numerous times I still have not had a call. I NEED MY MONEY BACK to pay my Bill's. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves stealing money like this!:

on Dec 17, 2018 A charge of $643.48 was made to my credit card. I did not use this web site to reserve a hotel room. the reservation number is R1322960937. Getaroom visa charge refund

We have a charge on a business Visa that was NOT made by any person who has authority to use this card. The Visa statement is dated April 11, 2019 and reads CCI*HLTEL RES 800-468-3578 TX for $499.87. Calling the 800 # first got me to the sales department - I provided the name on the Visa plus last 4 digits. Nothing and apparently that is the only way sales can check. I was transferred to customer care. They asked for the reservation number/confirmation and / or the email used to make the reservation. This is an obvious problem as I didn't make a reservation thus have no # or confirmation. I did give an email associated with the card but nothing can up on there end. Customer Care says these two identifiers are the only way they can trace transactions (implying this is my problem because I don't have a confirmation # or an email that shows up in there system).

I asked to be transferred to accounting as it is the law (at least in Canada) to have backup documentation on any and every sales transaction that occurs within an organization. The customer care fellow refused to acknowledge the existence of such a link and refused to provide contact information on any department other than his own.

Complete scam and beware of using this site!

I called to cancel this reservation only to be told I had to pay for 1 nights stay. I had no idea this was not the hotel I was contacting. I was told that I have until 5/15/19 to cancel with no penalty. I was asked to pull up the email I was sent with the terms. I never received the email because they had my email address incorrect. They then send it to me today and said I had to cancel by noon. They never disclosed that I was not speaking directly with the hotel. I told them I wanted to use my Whyndem reward and she said I would get a email advising how to get my points which I did not. I would have never booked with a third party for a hotel. I was charged over $130 to cancel and the room was only for $67.

I looked up the Orleans Hotel in Vegas and your number appeared under the hotel heading and address. Thinking it was the hotel I call and made a reservation on March 14, 2019 for June 23, 2019, more than three months in advance. When I saw the charges posted to the email confirmation sent, I wondered why the hotel was charging a service charge. I called the Orleans and gave them the Itinery number when they let me know it wasn't their number but yours. I called to cancel the reservation 13 minutes later and was never told at the time the cancellation was not refundable. I did not scroll down the confirmation and read the cancellation policy since I believed I was initially speaking to the hotel and I know their cancellation policy is 48 hrs prior to arrival. I was told I would not be refunded. I notified my bank, they looked into it and said you sent them a copy of your refund policy. I notified The Orleans and two managers were horrified at the business practices especially since the reservation was make more than three month in advance. I feel your business practices are not honest and unethical in not at least telling someone before they actually cancel that it was non refundable. One of the Hotel managers spoke to someone on a Hotel Line and was told that there was no problem refunding me and to have me call but when I called I got the same run around from every phone call I made telling me no refund would be given. If you want to charge me some small amout for the cancellation, that's fine but to charge me $294.06 for a service that I will not receive is dishonest and just down right wrong and unethical behavior. I will be sure to tell as many people as I can about your company and the s money you stole from me. How do you people live with yourselves stealing?

Getaroom fake company posing as hotel reservation!!

Scam! Thought I was making a reservation through Super 8 when I was duped! They claim they post the charge amount and ask for confirmation before they charge your account but that's a LIE! Charged my card without giving me the amount and I realized that's way too much so I called the hotel to cancel within seconds of making the reservation because I thought I had made a reservation through the super 8 website. Hotel attendant told me I had to cancel online and I should be cleared of charges because the cancellation was within 24 hours...definitely not the case! Got charged, called the hotel and they said they would of refunded me the money if they accidentally charged me but they said this SCAMMER charged my card...and now I can't call them to resolve the issue because they have a FAKE number! I called my credit card company and they are investigating! I want my money back!

Getaroom I am complaining about my account having been credited and not receiving any reference nor service

I went on line thinking that I was at eh site of The Student Hotel Hague for stay from 2nd to 8th June 2019. I did a booking for rooms fer three people in the sum of
USD 2135.67 but never received any reservation number. When I made inquires with the customer care by email I was informed that I had to get the reservation number otherwise I could not be helped. I checked both my normal mail and my spam mail to no avail. they just did not send a reservation number.
I had by that time made other two reservations no R1489668766 and R1488312570 for 2nd to 8th of June and 2 to 9th of June. I tried to confirm these two with The Student Hotel in Hague to they have informed me that they have not received these bookings. I cannot leave my country to go to another country without the confirmation.

I would like a refund for the the USD 2135.67 since it would appear that it was wrongfully credited since I did not receive a reference numbers nor confirmation.
I have attached the proof of payment below.

Getaroom misleading sales and pricing

I booked a room at the Salisbury hotel in Hong Kong using a website that appeared to be the hotel website and was offering a good rate. Once I had paid, I realised that I had booked not through the hotel but through a site called guestreservations.com. I then received a booking confirmation from getaroom.com for a much higher price than I was aware of when I made the booking. The room was advertised at £100 per night. Getaroom added £40 per night for 'taxes and charges'. In total, I paid about £250 more for my stay than the price available on other reservation sites. Getaroom appears to work with guestreservations to trick people into thinking that they are booking through the hotel and to hook them with an attractive rate before stinging them with additional charges that are not presented clearly before payment is made. I have contacted getaroom's complaints department twice but haven't received a response from them. (In response to my review on trustpilot, getaroom claimed that they were not connected to guestreservations. This is despite the fact that I received a booking confirmation from getaroom for the reservation I made on the guestreservations site.) My advice to others is to be particularly vigilant when booking rooms to make sure you are not doing so through either of these sites.
