General Motors 2015 Equinox

My 2015 Equinox experienced EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION which caused my timing chain to suddenly break. I almost had a bad accident, and my engine is DESTROYED. The mechanic wants $7000 to fix this vehicle. I have a loan out on this vehicle still. I only have 69,000 miles on this SUV. I want to file a lawsuit, and or contact the media as I have been told GM will do nothing to right this situation when they knew there was a problem with these engines.

Desired outcome: I would like a response and help with this issue of a faulty timing chain.

General Motors 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country

Good afternoon,

I'm writing you today regarding my 2021 Tahoe High Country VIN # 1GNSCTKL1MR107298. The vehicle currently has 63,000 miles and recently had a problem that has been identified as a failure of the ECM. The approx. cost for the start of the repair is around $ 1,5000.00. This replacement could be just the start of the diagnostic process. The Tahoe is at the Service Department at Beaver Chevrolet in Jacksonville Florida.

I have been a loyal Chevrolet customer for a long time as this is my 4th Tahoe. I will usually trade them in every 4/5 years or 100,000 miles so I can avoid any major mechanical issues. I know that the computer components have a 60K mile warranty and the failure occurred 3K past the threshold. The purchase price for this Tahoe was the most I have ever paid for a vehicle and it came with the expectation that it would be the best quality vehicle that I have owned.

I am communicating my situation to you in the hopes that GM may be able to extend some assistance to a loyal Chevrolet customer. Thank you for your consideration.

James Gray

General Motors warranty service on 2019 chevy vin 1HTKHPVM3KH608804

THIS vehicle has been at hawthorn chevy in hawthorne nj for the problem of the pto going out when the fuel gets less then 3/4 then it has to be reprogrammed and it works until same thing happens again.

this has been going on since the fall. We had it sent out and was determined not a pto problem but a problem under warranty such as a sensor or fuel pump etc...it went to the dealer so many times with no resolve... last time vehicle at hawthorne they made us make an appointment for 6 weeks in advance then it stood there for another 6 weeks and they never even started it, we have cameras on it. I put a complaint in with gm in the fall with Morgan from gm and never a call or a follow up. Then i put a complaint in with Jenifer and always going to get a resolution and never does. so put a complaint in with bbb, and jennifer gets assigned to us again. She has no answers, and havent heard from her in weeks now. She gives false information about calls to our place but never has times or names, we always call her back. It is now over 8 months, we have a flatbed we cant use because dont know when will go out unless we carry a scanner with us. Upon our diagnostics the fuel pumps are failing and causing this problem

Desired outcome: I do not want to take it back to the dealer they do nothing, I want my co to be compensated to repair this vehicle, so parts, labor, diagnostics and our down time for this vehicle. It is a 2019 and it cant be used.

General Motors Repair & replacement of buick enclave power seat frame component(s)

Recently ,I brought my 2017 Buick Enclave into a local Buick dealership for a check engine light alert. The defected part was identified and replaced at now cost by a manufacturer extended warranty as it must be a chronic problem with the component. After a $700.00 plus bill for matters recommended by the Dealership to prevent recurrence I was shocked. While at the dealership I asked if a broken front drivers seat plastic cover power seat controls was a warranty item. They said no not covered by the Buick original warranty or my extended warranty. They said they could replace it for an additional $ 450.00. $ 182.00 for the part and balance for labor. I said ,no thanks at which time the service advisor said they have replaced the part repeatedly over time and was surprised Buick hasn't handled the replacement like as noted with the previously stated check engine light fix. I went on line and found the needed GM Buick Genuine part which I could purchase for about $ 108.00 ? The included part specification stated a description of the part was unbreakable ? Confusing and Frustrating. To add insult to injury trying to file an email complaint with Buick is near difficult to do -- More Frustration ! Our last five cars over the years have been Buicks. Before the last five cars the others were Chevy's (GM also). I recently heard GM has been purchased by the Chinese ? . Time to step back and reevaluate future monetary decisions.

Desired outcome: Replacement of what apparently is a manufacturers part which chronically breaks at no cost to the customer. Also, a simple ,easy to access ,email connection by customers to Buick Corporate.

General Motors New car purchase

Waited on a list for 2 years to purchase a C8. I finally got the call to build the car I want online and send it to my dealership. Sent that in to the dealership. The dealership sent back the adjusted price for a 2023 since online was still quoting 2022. I agreed to the build and the price so the dealership submitted the order.

The workbench was ACCEPTED by GM for the exact model year and build I had agreed to. This is supposed to fall under GMs price protection policy.

2 months later the car arrived and I was charged another $3,000. I tried to talk to the dealership about it and they said that they could sell the car for 10K more than I was paying so I could pay the 3K more or they would sell it to someone else. I was really taken advantage of here. I am a loyal Chevrolet driver and have been since I turned 16. Finally get my dream car and this is how I'm treated.

I contacted GM on twitter and they said they wouldn't do anything about it. The dealership says its GMs fault. GM says its the dealerships fault. Neither care about the customer. Apparently the condition of the market is how GM and the dealership determines how to treat customers, not integrity.

Desired outcome: Do what you agreed to and accepted with the workbench order. Refund the $3,000 to me.

General Motors 2021 gmc denali seized engine

Just before Christmas 2022, I bought a 2021 GMC Denali with a 6.2L engine and has under $28K miles. I bought it at a dealership almost 3 hours from where I live. After 3 weeks, the engine seized up. I took it to the local dealership, Sunrise GMC bin Bartlett, TN. They asked to see the inspection report from the dealership I purchased it from, in which I provided. I asked them for a loaner or if they could pay to rent a vehicle and of course, they said no. It has been 8 WEEKS and the truck is still sitting in the same spot that the tow truck dropped it off. I have gone to the dealership to complain and called and even text the manager and all they will tell me is that they are waiting on a response from GM. All the while I'm having to bum rides to and from work from my wife and co-workers. I have a been a loyal Chevrolet and GMC truck driver my whole life and I'm 53 years old. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I have even thought of going to a crappy Dodge or crappy Ford because of this. I am paying $1k a month for a truck that I cant drive. Legal action is looming.

Desired outcome: I want my damn truck.

General Motors 2014 GMC 3500 Denali Diesel with Allison Transmission

Good Day GM

RE: 2014 GMC 3500 Denali Diesel with Allison Transmission

On 2/7/2023 my engine light came on and the transmission started acting up. After reviewing the code (U0101) it was determined that the Transmission Control Module failed. After checking with my local GMC dealer parts department (Caposio Buick GMC) they informed me that no replacement was available for the TCM. They stated that a replacement TCM maybe available sometime after May 1st. but could not guarantee that the replacement would be available even then. So here we are without the use of my truck and having to cancel all or travel plans for the next few months.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and hopping the replacement would be sooner rather than later.

General Motors Defective 2.4 l ecotec engine in [protected] equinox vehicles

My name is Debbie Voltz. Im writing in regard to my 2015 equinox. that I bought in 2017. After my vehicle would not start on Friday, February 10, 2023, I had it towed to Garber Buick at 5925 State Street in Saginaw Michigan. The vehicle was inspected on Monday, February 13, 2023, being diagnosed that the timing chain had broken and I had internal damage to my engine. The cost of replacing the engine is $8,300. When I researched the problem on the internet I found out the 2.4 L EcoTec engine in the [protected] Equinox is defective. General Motors was being suited by some states but not the state of Michigan. According to the lawsuit with GM and Missour, it was stated that the vehicles were plaque by a defect that causes the suvs to burn or consume excessive amounts of oil, leading to a risk of catastrophic engine damage and serious safety concerns. The excessive oil lead to a host of problems including engine shutdown, unexpected loss of power, stalls and the jerking of the vehicle. The vehicle system fails to let drivers know that their oil is low until their cars stall out or fails. The result of the failed system caused the damage of the components in the internal engine. According to the case, defendant General Motors LLC has been aware since “no later than late 2010” of the “significant problem” with its EcoTec 2.4L engines. General Motors have settled some of the lawsuits against them about this problem but there are a lot of other customers in other states that are having these problems with this engine. I feel that if the engine fails in these, they should be reimbursed for the cost of the engine. It is so hard to find mechanics that would work on these engines. Having them replaced takes a long time to get another one too.

Desired outcome: I would like to be compensated for the price of replacing my defective engine.

General Motors Cadillac car issue with dealership

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Mandeep Sahota, and this complaint is in regards to my 2016 Cadillac CT6. This issue is pertaining to how one of your dealerships located in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada has unfairly dealt with me. This issue began when the was towed to the dealership and I was told the engine had malfunctioned, specifically the turbo. This issue occurred nearly 1 year ago. Since then I have not heard any updates or have been informed of any progress. I have been completely left in the dark. The dealership continues to suggest they are waiting for the necessary parts for the repair while providing me the worst service In regards to a loaner vehicle. I have made many attempts to call the dealership which resulted in being told little to no information. I still currently pay more than $1000 every month for the vehicle. This is completely ridiculous. I am seeking assistance from GM in this matter as this is not only unfair but completely unethical. Please contact me to discuss further, my contact information is provided below. I will greatly appreciate any assistance.

General Motors Issues with a Chevrolet car dealer after purchase

My name is Mason Fischer. On December 30th 2022 we purchased a 2017 tahoe premier from vans chevrolet in Scottsdale az. To start off they never let us test drive the vehicle (my first mistake), They said they just got the vehicle in and it would need to go through inspection and detail. We noticed it needed tires, was told they would be replaced. They had us sign the papers a day before we pu ked the vehicle up. Got there no new tires and also there was a Crack up the windshield, when we brought it up to the salesman he didn't know what to say and went and got another salesman who turned to my wife and said our insurance should cover to fix it. Was sold paint protection and window tint. Neither which received. It was 40 degrees when we bought it and was told it checked out real good. Well a month later and 1300 miles when it got warm enough. The ac doesn't work, the transmision bu ks kicks makes noise and vibrates violently when in v4 mode, then 1/1/2023 as we are driving the temp gage dropped to 160, started blowing cold air, quit charging and the fans went full speed and stayed that way 20 min after shutting it off. Checked and the belts are on and spinning everything. This vehicle has 78,000 miles we bought it with 76700. There is no way it was inspected or they didn't care to correct any of the issues and thought we would be stu k with the bill. I can be reached at [protected]@hotmail.com

Desired outcome: I want my vehicle fixed, paid 42000 for a vehicle we were told that was in 100 percent, although we got stuck k putting tires on after they didnt.

General Motors Repairs to a known design flaw with the chevy equinox

Driving my 2017 Chevy Equinox on Friday December 23, 2022 during a heavy snow and freezing temperatures, the PCV system froze resulting in the rear main seal becoming damaged. The engine lost almost all oil and I had to stop driving the car immediately, being stranded in frigid temperatures. The mechanic informed me the Equinox's rear main seal has a design flaw that GM recognizes and has posted how to fix the flaw but will not perform a recall because this flaw is not considered a safety issue.

The repair to the Equinox engine totaled $5000. The seal is a round piece of flexible plastic. Almost the whole cost was due to labor, having to remove the engine from the car to get to the seal.
This is unacceptable. GM knowing how expensive their design flaw will cost the customer and not addressing a recall regardless of safety or not is very bad business. I do consider this a safety issue, as I was in extreme winter conditions on a highway and had to stop driving immediately.

I had a parent who worked for GMAC for over twenty years. Our family carries GM stock. We are extremely loyal to the GM corporation when purchasing vehicles. This however has changed my mind on what to purchase moving forward, and I have shared my disappointment in GM with friends and family.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement of repair expense.

General Motors Collapsed lifter

I bought a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado brand new at Steve Schmitt. This vehicle has been serviced at the Dealership since new. At 72,159 miles it had a lifter collapse. The extended warranty was 5 yrs 70,000 miles. I had to wait a month for parts and over 5000.00 dollars later have my truck back. The dealership gave me a loaner thank goodness after a couple of weeks. I'm on a fixed income and this repair was costly. I've had nothing but GM vehicles for 68 years! For a company to have a problem and do nothing about it is unexceptable! They have know of this problem for some time now and have done nothing about it! The consumor gets the shaft again!

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for the repairs

General Motors 2015 Chevy Silverado LT

We bought a brand new Chevy Silverado truck back in 2015, for over 50 years have not bought nothing else, long time Chevy Man..So 2 months ago our truck broke down and had it towed, the dealer where we bought said warranty doesn't apply, it was the transmission, mind you it only has 58,900 miles yes its 7 years old, but this is so unfair we had to pay 4800.00 to get repaired we are retired and sent a letter to Chevy customer service in Detroit, I spoke to 2 supervisors, which were foreign and would not provide any help or even a little compensation for 15 minutes all I heard was( I'm Sorry) I was so mad and upset, loyalty doesn't count? And why is a transmission at less than 60,000 miles not working,I'm not asking for the full $4800, but at least pay for half..I had to borrow the money..I truly feel this is Chevy Fault...

...Thank you for listening and if you need documents for the repairs, I can provide

General Motors Frame rust in 2010 silverado

My fathers truck bought in 2010 has a rusted out frame, He has recently passed away & I was to inherit his truck with 230,000 miles on it. This truck was mantained religously, upon trying to get the truck saftied it was discovered that the frame was rusting out and is not able to be saftied. I have don major research on this truck and have found a USA recall dealing with this exact issue.

Will GM Canada be issuing the same recall as it seems that the truck in both countries have the same issue, or must we possibly inter a class action law suit.

The Chevy Silverado frame recall was issued due to the frame missing an anti-rust component in the metal that should have been included when the vehicle was made. The frames on them are known to rust excessively and can cause damage to the other components, and make the frames weaker. Chevy has issued a recall on the frames to install a rust preventative coating so that they will not rust out as fast as they have in the past.

repairs to this are in excess of 5000 dollars

Desired outcome: Recall to repair frame

On April 13th, I took my 2010 Chevy Silverado in for an inspection. To my surprise, it didn't pass. The reason? The frame is rusted out. I couldn't believe it. The truck is only thirteen years old. I worked for GM as a welder for over thirty years. I know that the vans and cars I built would never rust out this fast. (Given the exception of the Vega.) I understand that there has been a recall. Why was I not informed of it by GM? Why wasn't I informed by the dealership, Blaise Alexander? I want the frame replaced.

General Motors Missing front/rear park assist on my new 2022 Buick Enclave

I purchased a 2022 Buick Enclave Avenir on July 08 2022. Serial Number: VIN:5GAEVCKW1NJ185253. I was never told that there were parts missing and only discovered this while trying to use them.
These parts are FRONT/REAR ASSIST chips. I called the dealer July 15th and complained I was not aware of the parts not included. He said he was sorry and would get in touch with me on the parts. He then informed me that I should receive a letter from GM in September or October. I then contacted him in October and he PROMISED me I would have the chips the first week of January 2023

It has now been 6 months and still do not have the parts and the dealer told me there was nothing he can do about it. So this is the reason for this complaint. I want my damn parts that I paid for.
I would appreciate a response ASAP on this matter.

Desired outcome: I want the parts (front/rear chips) that I paid for 6 months ago

General Motors Financing

On 9/9/22 I paid off my GMC Sierra Danali in the amount of $29,286.69. At that time, I was provided a verification code of [protected]. This had to be ACHed through their web-site, as they do not accept wires. On 9/16/22 I received a Payoff confirmation letter thanking me for satisfying the loan. Shortly after I went to DMV and got the title.

After that, my Payables Person got a bill for a payment and we were told the payment and statement were a timing issue. In August, I sold the company that owned the truck and am still in the process of divesting assets.
In mid-December, I got nasty collection calls saying the vehicle was never paid off and contacted them letting them know I was moving out and getting married over the holidays but would contact them so we could mitigate the issue.

This Tuesday I tried to log into my account to see the status but was locked out. Yesterday I called to find they had put a repo order on the Truck.
Today I called to filed a complaint with GM and was told they would not work with me and I would need to add $733.40 in interest to my pay-off.

As a loyal GM customer who currently has 4 GM vehicles, I am shocked that they are acting like this. Should I be forced to pay this, I will be filing complaints at the State and Federal level. Also I will be selling these cars and buying other brands as I deserve better. I will also file suit against them and have spoken to my attorney concerning the daily calls harassing me after I told them I would resolve it after I got married, Not to mentioned the threatening tone of their complaint department.

I own 22 other vehicles and have ad literally hundreds of company cars and trucks. I have never seen a case like this in my 50 plus years in the business world.
Unfortunately, I bought a Cadillac Yesterday. Had I known how this was going to go this would not have happened?

Desired outcome: At a minimum Credit interest for their error, If I were them I'd add a gift card or make a good faith gesture.

General Motors 2016 Equinox

I have a 2016 Equinox that I bought new in 2016. I have about 53,000 miles on it. Never had any major issues till this past December 2022. I started the car up one morning and all these lights came on. Service Stabili Trak, orange ABS light, red brake light and tire skid light. Had it towed to my local mechanic and they said they couldn't do anything that it had to go to a Chevrolet dealership. So I had it towed from there to the dealership. The dealership called me and said I needed an Electronic Brake Module. Bad news was there is not ONE part available in all the United States! I has now been 3 weeks and still nothing, only answer I keep getting is that it is on a nationwide back order. I have called GM parts, headquarters some other phone numbers that I have found, get the same answer. So I don't have a car and they don't know when this part will be available. It's just an unacceptable answer. I was told they are waiting on certain materials, and workers, what? My dad retired from GM, we have all bought GM cars and trucks, faithful customers. Maybe they need not concentrate so much on parts for EV cars and get us the parts we need right now! I was told this could be long term... almost feel like they are trying to force people to buy something new. Pitiful!

Desired outcome: I want the part for my car!
