Geisinger Health System Covid vaccine

I was given my first covid vaccine on 2/13/21 I was scheduled by them for my second dose 3/13/21 at 7am. I received a call from Karen at Geisinger cancelling my appointment and rescheduled me for 3/18/21 at 9:20am. I asked if they had the vaccine, she said yes, I asked why I was being rescheduled, she had no answer. I told her I am disabled needed transportation, and this is unacceptable. I also asked, since geisinger made the local news if this is because they are vaccinating family members of employees. I am very upset with this action and would like an answer. I was scheduled as soon as they open, they are going to be open also why was I rescheduled?

Desired outcome: Vaccine 3/13/21 as scheduled

This was in the news too. They are getting alot of heat due to unethical behavior. I used to honestly love Geisinger but they just went down hill big time with all the baby deaths, lawsuits and this latest stunt with the vaccines. They need new leadership.

When I called back she said my papers were good enough and hung up on me. Some call me please! Not enou

I feel for you. Compassionate care has gone DOWN THE TUBES here at Geisinger of late. I have been noticing a huge change in their level of compassionate care and quality of service. I think they are getting called out and don't like it-- all the babies that died in there, and the federal investigations and on and on. They need to get their act together. I suggest they get a new CEO for starters.

Geisinger Health System Physician care

Not sure what has happened to physician care. Ombudsman treats you like you are another complaining annoyance. Received poor care in the ER as well as with my former PCP. Felt pushed out for complaining. They need to offer better customer service skills for their doctors when it comes to conflict resolution. I was upset about a misdiagnosis by multiple doctors in my former doctors office who cared more about their own name than showing concern for my health needs in the ER. They failed to realize a medication I was on was causing tachycardia. I complained, naturally. I was just treated like a whiner.
They just push you through like a business or another number. I miss the old way-- when people rallied around you and worked things out instead of put walls up as soon as they didn't like a complaint. You cant even get a refund because they dont allow refunds anymore. I finally just dropped my complaint with the ombudsman because it seemed like a waste of time and out of some, clearly, misplaced loyalty, for my former PCP. Doctors dont care anymore. Not like they used to. I am at my wits end with Geisinger.

Geisinger Health System lost 2 months of pay because of incompetence

I took leave for a short term disability request on August 12th from my job. I was told that all I had to do was get a doctor to sign off on the paperwork and that I would begin receiving paychecks as set forth by my benefits.
The benefit company had faxed the paperwork over to a number that the practicing office had given me before as the best fax number.
A week went by, I called, they had not received it. They gave me two more numbers over the following week and still no one had received the paperwork. I offered to take it to the office myself but they told me they had needed to receive it directly from my benefit company in order for it to be valid.
Finally after 2 and a half weeks they finally got the paperwork, but they stated the doctor wanted to see me before signing it.
The earliest they could get me in was October 26th. They did not offer to set me up with another doctor. I explained to them that I needed this signed and returned to my benefits company within a certain amount of time because I was going without income until it was approved.
They agreed after ANOTHER week that they could get me in September 12th. A month away, but since I had so many days to finish out the claim that I figured once he saw me he could just sign the paperwork and be done with it.
NOPE.
September 12th came around and at this appointment, I was told at the very beginning of the whole 10 minute appointment that this would need a full psych evaluation. He knew this when he originally scheduled the visit. Couldn't he have set up the referral before then instead of forcing me to wait a month just to TELL me this? I was pretty livid at this point. He knew I had depression as at my last visit I had told him in front of my boyfriend (who was also present at this one) my history with the issue. There was literally no reason to wait a month for an appointment at all.
He sent in the referral and told me I would be called by the end of the week to be scheduled.
That also never happened. I called the office myself and told them what was in the system and that I hadn't been called. They set up me up with a department and told me OCTOBER 3RD for this appointment!
By now my job is getting pissed at me because I had gone 2 months without coming to work and had nothing to show for it. They were calling me constantly asking for a return to work date. I felt like an idiot explaining what was going on and it didn't even sound like I was telling the truth, though I was.
October 3rd rolled around. Now I am behind on bills and my car insurance is about to be revoked. My cell phone had been shut off, making this even harder because I would have to wait until my boyfriend got home from work to check on all this...
but I digress.
I walked into the appointment hopeful that it would be the end of my issues and began talking to the psychiatrist. When I told her what I needed to have done,
she told me flat out "I can't do that. You need to see someone with a PHD/psychologist who can fill out the paperwork." When I asked who might do that, I was told that *I* had to call around and find someone. No help at all.
So another month had gone by and still nothing...I called around and found some places. None of them would agree to fill out paperwork, even after an appointment or two. Most were booked past the time my FMLA would no longer protect my job.
Anytime I would call to ask to have the referral sent to one of these offices, it would take a week for them to even fax the paperwork, and half the time they never would even attempt to do so.
Finally, this week, they got around to faxing the referral to an office I had called. They'd received a request for information from the office last Monday, and it took them until Friday afternoon to even get it back.
I got a call from my job's HR yesterday telling me that if I didn't have any benefit payments by Friday, my benefits at work would be cancelled. I would also be fired if I didn't return in 10 days.
So here I am about to lose my job and now I have to go back without being treated and possibly fired for not being able to perform my job duties...all thanks to my "doctor".
The office that I had called for a referral to told me that he should have been able to fill out the paperwork on the first visit in September. This all could have been avoided.
Switching doctors immediately...this is unacceptable.

Geisinger Health System need a referral

I am trying to get a referral for an Ear Nose and Throat specialist for chronic fluid in my ears. This is a problem I have had since I was born 50 years ago. They are refusing to give me a referral and no ENT will see me without the referral. I currently have scar tissue on my ear drums because of doctors refusing to treat me properly or treat me at all in the past. So again, I will get more scar tissue and more hearing loss from these idiots. What am I supposed to do? Why can't I get the treatment I need, I have insurance? How many times do I have to ask? Should I beg for treatment? This is the most unprofessional treatment I have ever received from this place.

Geisinger Health System entire hospital

I am really starting to hate this hospital. I was sent to the the pain clinic for arthritic pain and was told to go for two shots where someone would have to drive me. My neighbor had these shots and was good for about two weeks, then she was back to square one. Useless. My family doctor also does not like prescribing xanax which I desperately need. I usually have to beg him. I just called to make an appointment with plastic surgery and she is trying to push a p.A. On me like most of the other departments. When you get a good doctor they end up leaving. With all the people moving into this area you would think they would hire more doctors! This "hospital" has become a joke! Meanwhile I will drink my vodka to try and kill the pain I am in or try to hook up with a drug dealer. Unfortunately we don't have too many choices of hospitals around here. I can't wait to move out of this cesspit of a state.

Geisinger Health System not tending to patient complaints

On 10/16 I went to Lewistown-Geisinger hospital to have my pinky finger checked. Xrays showed no brake so I was given two percocet and sent home and told to follow up with my family Dr. No medication was prescribed for my extreme pain and I was told to use OTC Tylenol. I called my family Dr later that morning to request a follow up apponitment as well as the need for stronger pain medication than OTC. I told them how extreme my pain was. I have no use of my right hand due to the pain I'm in. I recieved a return call stating my Dr said to try Alieve, ice packs and elevation. Several hours past and my pain is still so bad so I call back. Of course the same thing, explain everthing all over for about the 5th time today and wait for a return call. The receptionist calls back and says she has made me an appointment with orthopeditics on Monday 10/21/2019. I ask again, so what about my extreme pain? Would you want to live in horrible pain for a week waiting on a dr? I understand people abuse medications but dang! Dont punish those of us who really need it. I have a right as a patient to have my pain controlled and you have failed me! Look through my chart. You've not given me any RX for pain medication recently. I am getting rid of this insurance as well as any Geisingier Drs ASAP. My dog gets better treatment from his Vet.

Geisinger Health System urologist/surgery/feeding team

Urologist Joel Sumfest pulled out of my sons surgery at 7:30am. He was due for surgery at 7:15. Casey was already scheduled for a cleft palate repair which still took place. How is that acceptable for a Urologist to pull out at last minute and cause a child to have yet another surgery? This has been planned for months. The feeding team also failed us. We did not meet with them prior. When have cleft palate repair, My son Casey T William's should have meet with the feeding team to learn how to eat out of these new feeders
Geisinger in Danville makes these bottles on site. Casey should have been trying to eat out of these new feeders weeks prior. We were failed there! Shame on Gesinger for allowing this to happen

Geisinger Health System Dr. Seth fisher - cardiologist

On June 19, 2019 I took my mother to see her Cardiologist, Dr. Seth Fisher, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (in Wilkes-Barre, PA) because she was complaining of burning chest discomfort. She had been going to this physician for fifteen years since she had a heart attack. During the appointment, Dr. Fisher was extremely arrogant, nasty and condescending. He told my mother, in a very sarcastic tone, "you are always complaining of some sort of chest discomfort". She told him this was different pain. He snickered. He asked if it was like the pain she had with her previous heart attack and she said "no" that this was a "burning pain". I am a former nurse and asked him to order an Echocardiogram. He said in a patronizing manner, "For what? She had one two years ago. And if it shows something what are we going to do? A stress test or a cath? Would she agree to that?" I said "That was two years ago and things change. And if it shows something then that will be a decision my mom will make but at least we will know what is going on." He refused to order that test, or anything else. He kept saying in a very annoyed-sounding manner, "So what do you want me to do? Why are you here?" He was trying to rush us out of the office because he kept saying he was "very busy because there is a hospital audit going on" and he "squeezed her in" for this appointment. He said "Just take more of your Prilosec and Zantac. It's probably your reflux or your stomach". Then he rushed us out of the exam room.
On June 28, 2019 my mother went to the Emergency Room at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center via ambulance. She was suffering extreme abdominal and bloating, as well as chest pain. She was admitted to the hospital. She was seen by Cardiologist, Dr. Eileen Rattigan, while in the hospital. They did a lot of tests on June 29-30, 2019, including an Echocardiogram. She was then scheduled to have a cardiac cath on July 1, 2019. Dr. Rattigan said that the tests' results (including the Echocardiogram) showed that she had a heart attack seven to ten days earlier. She said she now "has significant heart muscle damage and damage to the valve because so much time has passed and time is of the utmost importance with a heart attack." But they were going to try to see what could be done by doing a cardiac cath. I said that was right during the time when I was with her in Dr. Fisher's office and what transpired during that office visit. She said "Yes, I saw the office notes. That is unfortunate." She said "If this had been found and treated on June 19, the outcome would likely have been different. She could have had a cath and maybe stents without there being so much heart muscle and heart valve damage."
On the evening of June 30, 2019 a nurse from the hospital called to say that they had called a Rapid Response Team event on my mother because she took a turn for the worse. Her abdominal pain became more extreme. She was sent for a CT Scan and a surgeon was consulted. They were planning to take her for emergency surgery that evening. When we go to the hospital, a Cardiology Fellow told us that the surgeon would be up to talk to us but that it was very grim and nothing could be done. He said the cardiac cath scheduled for the next day was cancelled because it would be of no benefit because of the damage done to the internal organs because the heart valve was not pumping enough blood to the intestines and liver and those organs suffered irreversible damage. The Surgeon and a Surgical Fellow talked to us and showed us the CT films. She said there was intestinal ischemia and a huge amount of free air in the abdomen and around the liver. She said that no surgery could be done. The only surgical option would be to remove the entire intestines and a liver resection but that because of the severe heart damage, my mother would not survive the surgery so the surgeon could not do it. The surgeon said that if the heart valve was not damaged, this would not have happened because there would not have been blood flow loss to the organs.
My mom was then moved to an ICU-type room. Over the next two days, several doctors told us that nothing could be done and that she likely had only two days to live. We decided to take her home with hospice care. She was discharged from the hospital on July 2, 2019. Over the next six-plus weeks, my mother was unable to eat at all. She was on around-the-clock pain medications for severe pain. She deteriorated over these weeks. She lost a tremendous amount of weight (and was already thin to start) because she could not eat. She was cared for at home and then at an inpatient hospice facility. On August 14, 2019 she passed away at the inpatient hospice facility.

Geisinger Health System customer service; privacy; dr. john mercuri md

It was my husband's first time at this facility. We always went to Co-ordinated Health Scranton Orthopedics until GHP insurance was no longer accepted. We were not pleased compared to co-ordinated health services for the following reasons:
1. Customer Service/checking in. Three employees checking patients in. Two at desk gossiping and talking over 15 minutes before waiting on patients. Employees names were Christine Palmer & Roseann Zubrickas. There was at least 6 patients waiting in line. They literterally had their heads down at the computer station and were whispering.
2. Once we were waited on, the employee Roseann Zubrickas, said out loud "Do you know you have an outstanding balance ?"& said the amount and preceded to give us a card to call the financial department to make payment arrangements on balance. Where was patient privacy? Everyone checking in heard her. What is it her concern and to embarrass a patient and inform other patients of that ? So unprofessional & uncalled for. I am going to pursue this HIPPA violation and dismissal of patient rights to my attorney.
3. We did not even sit down & an employee from genetic testing approached us in the common waiting room about participation in program. This was also unprofessional. Should have been sent to a separate station or she should have come once we were roomed to see physician.
I guess Geisinger has no regards for patient confidentiality.
4. Dr. Mercuri had no bedside manner and was unprepared coming in room. Poor assessment. He order Mobic medication that patient has already been taking. Suggests he never reviewed medication sheet. Then he suggested steroid injection, Nurse came in room with injection in hand and then doctor said " No injection being that your allergic to methylprednisone". Again, shows he never reviewed patient chart prior to seeing patient. I verbalized that patient just needs to take Benadryl with administration(As with back injections and at Co-ordinated health). He dismissed us and said patient woul'd have to see another physician in practice to have a gel based injection. All fine but couldn't schedule until 9/3/19. I am a RN by profession & I told MD that I have been giving patient Skelaxin, a muscle relaxant that was previously ordered by PCP months ago & that patient found pain relief. I asked for a refill until injection & he said "No". What kind of physician dismisses patient input and questions? I thought PAIN was the 5th vital sign? After MD left room, the nurse verbalized to call PCP for muscle relaxant and said "you'll never get that from him". Referring to Dr. Mercuri. I was beside myself leaving the room. What did this Physician do for the patient? Answer is NOTHING! Patient in pain and same condition upon coming. I am asking for Dr. Mercuri not to be paid for visit or I will dispute charges & I also want a REFUND on my $50.00 co-pay paid yesterday. He provided us with no service. We are so disappointed that we had to leave Co-ordinated Health because of GHP coverage.

Please address and notify me of outcome. Look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Kristi A. Salatino

Geisinger Health System refusal to provide requested material

Robert E. Quick, [protected]
93 Riverview Dr, McVeytown PA 17051

Complaint on: Dr Deborah S. Hopkins EMR at Geisinger Hospital Lewistown, PA on 4/4/19

My grandson Billy [mrn: 6024826] [17 yrs old] was ommitted for observation by RSO Robert L. Haines. Dr Hopkins produced a summary of messages that she said was Billy's that she had recieved from the officer and would not release him. She also attempted to incarcerate him for 72 hours. A criss worker, who came into the hospital later, said she thought Billy was not a risk and recommented him to be released. He was later released but when the summary of the messages was requested from the doctor, she had refused to give them up. The incident is also involved in a court case. During the case the RSO claimed that no summary was ever given to anyone but the DA.

My request for resolution is to have the summary that was used given to me for legal purposes.

Geisinger Health System bp2

Back in Nov of 2008, I admitted myself on the bp2 floor. The reason i did so was, My now x wife and myself got in a argument and i punched out the back door window and i left. She called the cops and told them i tried to kill her( which was a lie) The police found me a town over and told me they had to take me to Geisinger to get checked i agreed and while there i admitted myself on to the bp2 floor. You see where i said i admitted myself right. while i was there and it was like 3 days i was getting ready to be discharged and my x wife put a pfa on me. I had no place to go and the dr wouldnt let me stay in my car so he changed my records where they 302 on me. Now u get this i admitted myself and the dr changed it to a 302. I am fighting to get the 302 removed and cant find away to get it done, I went a got a copy of my medical records and the very first page says patient admitted himself, that was changed to a 302 and i complainted about that and the nurse put it back to admitted self, All the way through my records you can see where they changed my admitting myself to a 302. Now i have tried everything to get the 302 removed and no one will help, I connected with medical records and they said they will not change the records, I sent a letter to a place in Washington D.c and they said they cant change the records, I had a lawyer go over the records and he said he didnt want to get involved in the case cause he didnt want to get involved in a case that would cost so much and he wasn't sure he would win. I have ran out of ideas about where to go to next to get this takin care of. I dont understand how a dr can change a record and lie about it. I will never go back to Geisinger for anything. To me they are getting to big and they dont care about the patients anymore. I am still trying to find away to fight to get this removed

Geisinger Health System privacy, hipaa, ent, trash talk

Geisinger Danville talks trash about parents in your child's legal documents medical records and fax it to your family doctor. The Family Doctor contacted me to tell me what Geisinger ENT said. Also Why does the (ENT) ears nose and throat doctor need to know if my child knows about safe sex. We are talking about 11 year old child. That is so creepy.
Always ask for a copy of your medical records with doctor's notes. You will be surprised what you read. This place is so unprofessional and so unorganized they can't even get a CAT scan done before surgery date so they had to cancel surgery.
Run as fast as you can.

Geisinger Health System gmc intensive outpatient program

I spent 2 week's in GMC inpatient psychiatric unit, February 4th to February 18th. I received excellent care receiving mental health treatment where I was stabilized. Upon discharrge, it was recommended to complete the GMC Intensive outpatient program. Dr Nahi, my regular psychiatrist also recommended me for GMC IOP. On March 5th, Denise from IOP called to inform me that their team met and I was going to be released, mid treatment for Genesis House Intensive Outpatient Treatment. I can assure you that I am not in need of Intensive treatment for alcoholism. I had a slip with alcohol for 1 night on March 3rd. I then got with my sponsor and returned to my personal Program of recovery. Slips are a natural occurrence in early recovery. I am very knowledgeable about alcoholism and the treatment recovery process. Because I was honest with IOP staff about the one night alcohol slip I had on Sunday, they had a team meeting after our groups and decided to interrupt my treatment for mental health needs and send me to Genesis House for their IOP D&A program. I cried hysterically, pleaded my case. Told them I've had intensive D&A treatment and I have a program of recovery in place with a sponsor and going to meetings pretty much daily. I feel my mental health treatment and needs are the priority for me on the GMC IOP program for, depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. That would be the immediate safety issue. But it appears they made an intake appointment for me at Genesis house for the 18th. I told Denise it would've been better to allow me to finish out my current IOP treatment and then suggest a referral for follow up D&A treatment. But I have Sylvia Beiler, my current therapist, who I meet with weekly and lately two days a week who helps me with D&A issues and
supporting my work in the AA program. I am learning to use my sponsor. One Dr not in the IOP program edged me to not get stuck about the slip. She said this was just a bump in the road and to get back out there with AA. Which I did, called my sponsor attending meetings and did my work on the first step. It's a disease of relapse and the AA program is best at handling that. Well, I feel like I never should have told Denise at IOP. They took it and ran with it. Nothing I said mattered. They said I could come back this Friday before I transfer to Genesis house. I don't agree with it at all. My mental health needs and safety needs were being met just fine. I have a good support system and was working hard and doing well with GMC IOP. And they threw this big wrench at me just when I have to go back to work. It's a huge change that I'm not happy about, don't have faith in, and my anxiety about finding a new place, meeting new people, whole new program. It's in Bloom which is
further away, I don't know that their program would even fit in my work schedule. Also takes away the ease of attending the Danville MOTH AA meeting right after GMC's IOP. It just feels like a mess. I feel misunderstood and not included in this decision. My sponsor suggested I get them to put it in writing that they are releasing me from their program with full knowledge of my mental health and safety issues. I don't believe Genesis House will be able to provide the intensity of mental health treatment I'm getting now. GMC suggested GMC IOP. Inpatient added and changed my mess which made me feel more able to benefit from IOP. Now they're just going to transfer me, disregarding my input and my knowledge of my needs. I believe they should intersperse in their GMC IOP with acknowledging that substance use is a common problem among depressed people. They could apply the CBT training and theory with substance abuse. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has both depression, anxiety and suicidal
ideation along with substance abuse but I'm working the AA program and getting closer with my sponsor. And again, I have my outpatient therapist to support me in working that program. Seems one little slip changed everything. It turned my world upside down just when I have to go back to work which I'm already stressed about. Going bac March 12th. I just wanted to move forward, get back on track and be ok to keep working hard. But IOP just changed everything. I'm not sure how I'm coping but I feel angry, rejected, unheard, disappointed, and really really sad. Like someone did something TO me without my input. I'm hesitant to go back to GMC IOP this Friday because I feel wierd now since this happened and I'm not going to be there. And I wasn't hiding my alcohol issues. It didn't come up much and wasn't brought up or weaved into conversation. I said every day that I was going to an AA meeting after IOP.
I'm frustrated and struggling to advocate for myself and manage my thoughts and feelings. They don't understand me. They think they know what's best, but that doesn't mean they're right.
Best wishes to you Dr. Nahi.

Geisinger Health System dr. suk & dr. lietman md

I phoned Orthopedic's too schedule an appointment to see Dr. Suk and my appointment was made for December 2018. I arrived for my appointment on the day and time it was scheduled to be seen by Dr.Suk, I was taken to a waiting room and was told I needed to get some exrays done on my right knee which is why I came to orthopedic's. The exrays were done and I was taken back to the waiting room and was told the doctor would be in soon to see me. As I was waiting for the doctor to come in I was reading some of the information about knees that were posted on the wall in the waiting room I was in, while reading this info I was near the door and I heard someone mention my name but couldn't hear all of the conversation, a few minutes later a doctor an his aid came into see me. I ask if he ( the doctor) was Dr.Suk and he replied no, that he was Dr.lietman, I ask why I'm not seeing Dr.Suk an Dr.lietman said that Dr.Suk was looking into other time's of surgeries and that he, Dr. Lietman was going to be my doctor concerning my right knee problems. I found this to be very strange because if Dr.Suk was not going to be seeing me, why was my appointment made to see him and not Dr.Lietman? I knew something wasn't right with how Dr.lietman respond concerning Dr.Suk not seeing me, which leads me to this and why Dr.Suk didn't see me. 2 year's ago there was a problem at my residence concerning my ex wife ( Diane Swavely) in which my ex wife fell outside my home injuring her knee, I come to learn she had seen Dr.Suk concerning her knee injury and told Dr.Suk that I had pushed her causing the injury to her knee. I nore anyone else ever pushed my wife for her to say I did, what did happen was, my ex wife Diane Swavely fell down her basement steps in her own home an a place I don't live, my ex wife Diane Swavely told me she told DR.Suk that I had pushed her. This never happened, and now the doctor I had an appointment with never came into see me, instead having Dr.lietman see me instead. Dr.lietman is refusing to do my right knee replacement until I have 6 week's without somking or being on the nicotine patch. I recently seen Dr.lietman an his aid Mark who was with Dr.Lietman the 1st time I seen him an I ask Dr.Lietman if he really wanted to do my right knee replacement, he said yes but I didn't get the feeling he did. I don't feel it was very professional of Dr.Suk not too see me after making an appointment to see him and not be informed I wasn't going to see him until the day of my appointment, also I honestly believe that what my ex wife Diane Swavely told him about me supporedly pushing her is another reason why Dr. Suk didn't see me. I felt I was lied to by Dr.Lietman concerning his response to why Dr.Suk wasn't going to be seeing me. Never have I ever had an appointment to see a doctor an not see the doctor I made the appointment to see, something isn't right with Dr.Suk not seeing me and I'm positive it has everything too do with my ex wife Diane Swavely. This is unbecoming of Dr. Suk and Dr.lietman to do this for a first time patient seeing either and not seeing who my appointment was made with. I'm still told by Dr.Lietman that even though I'm on the lowest dose for the nicotine patch, that I'd still have too wait 6 week's after I'm off the patch too have my total right knee replacement. Every day that goes by my right knee gives me more pain then the day before and I'm suffering more now and my pain is getting worse an too the point that when I get up from sitting, I have to have something to hold onto in order to walk. Now I'm concerned that I am not getting the care I should be getting with my right knee being bone on bone as Dr.lietman put it. How can a doctor knowing how bad someone's knee is make them wait 6 week's off nicotine before he'll do any surgery? I believe it would be in my best interest to contact my attorney and file for a medical malpractice suit, because what Dr. Suk did and in my eyes had Dr.lietman give an excuse for Dr.Suk very unprofessional.

No issues were discovered and no surgery performed. A charge of $1, 258.00 for surgery was added and invoiced on Jan 28, 2019. SO total cost of this 2 hour exam plus Colonoscopy proceedure is $ 17, 962.95...Insurance and I have paid $ 4, 474.16. Question? does this pass the Washington Post test I think they are a bit greedy. I request that Giesinger take the proceeds they have received stop billing me and send an official appology for this incident. Please advise as my next step is to obtain a lawyer the press.

Geisinger Health System pcu at gwv

My daughter is end stage renal and end stage CHF. She is only 26 and was admitted to the PCU unit the Friday before Christmas. Her stay lasted until 2 days ago. The nurses there were all young girls whom only stood around gossiping about the others. Her male nurse was not helpful to her at all. he would not potty her nor was she EVER offered a bed bath or assistance in getting in the shower. She was not able to stand on her own as she just had a minor heart attack and was dizzy yet. The female nurses did not want to come in her room as they all had to gown up. She would ring to get assistance going to the bathroom and they would sigh audibly and whisper loud enough for her to hear them concerning their disdain with going in her room. when they did get her on the port a potty, they would not clean the pot but left it in the bathroom filthy. I had to bathe her, do her hair and feed her. The food trays were always sitting there untouched and she would be starving when I got there. When I complained I got the eye roll and ignored. I worked for Geisinger for a few years and this one is deplorable anymore. I am filing a complaint with the CEO. They never diagnose her right and just do what they have to to get her out of there. I hate Geisinger anymore and would NOT recommend anyone there.

Geisinger Health System medical insurance fraud

I arrived at my appointment and the medical assistant that checked me in was so sick she could not speak clearly, I could barely understand her. When I asked if there was anyone else who could help I was told no one else was available.
I was told the doctors office had never seen my health insurance before and they would contact the company to make sure they covered the procedures being performed on the dates ordered. They told me everything was pre-approved.
They now call my home sometimes 6 times a day saying I owe them thousands of dollars entirely out of pocket. I have called a patient care advocate and when I asked her if Geisinger even cares about their patients or are just after their money she replied with "I could get you the phone number to the billing department".
