I received a $100 gas voucher from an outrageous/laborious time share sales pitch at the split rock resort, near the poconos, pa. As required, I mailed in my voucher and received five (5) $20 coupons. The coupons came with a 16-point instructions guide on how to receive your $ (ridiculous to say the least - applying for a passport does not even require that many steps & procedures). One of those conditions stipulated that an applicant could not send in more than 1 $20 coupon within a 30-day period, implying that an applicant would need at least 4 months to receive the $ equivalent of all 5 coupons!

So far, I have submitted 2 coupons ($20 each) - the first was rejected with absolutely no reasons for rejection. I reported the case to better business bureau in fl, and gas up informed them that coupon was rejected on the grounds that the form was incorrectly filled so I corrected the form and sent it back. – it’s been over 4 months now... Nothing! The second coupon I sent over 2 months ago - to date - no new from the company!

In my opinion the 16-point instruction is simply a way to frustrate voucher holders - if you do not dot your "i's" or cross your t's - your form is rejected! If one has earned a $100 coupon, it cracks my brains why a receipt for the total amount can not simply be attached to the coupons and submitted for a refund? The management of gas up america must be investigated along with management at the split rock resort! I read similar experiences on gas up, and this appears to be wide spread issue - those of us who have been ripped off must find a way to come together to seek redress!

Promised $100 in free gas for listening to a Timeshare program. Sent the form in and received coupons for free gas. I followed the rules exactly as stated and sent coupon and receipt in to company twice. Did not hear anything either time. This is one big scam by the Timeshare people. The place that gave it to me was Gatlinburg Town Square in Gatlinburg, TN on 12/16/08.

On 8/13/08 I was given a gas up america activaion form #16882 from Vacatio Charters for $ 100.00. I then sent 2 coupons for $ 20.00 each with receipts of gas on 8/24/08 and 9/12/08. I then received a letter from the company advising that I did not comply with there requirements without stating wher I errored. This is a scam and should be reprted to the various agency that are respnsible .

I was promised $ 100 gas card for attending a travel seminar (Travel Partners USA). The instructions were to pay for my gas in $ 20 increments and then send the gas receipt to Gas Up America for reimbursement. I have sent in the first $ 20 receipt and haven't received my money. I have called to complain and ask where my money is 6 times and still haven't received an honest answer.

$100 Gas coupons to redeem. We have filled them out, but get a letter that we did something wrong so therefore no rebate. There is no way to contact the company in order to find out what we did wrong and correct it.

Same story as the others. We attended a pitch in Gatlinburg, TN, for a vacation offer.
We were received instructions for getting 5 $20 gasoline reimbursement coupons. We have submitted four of them, following instructions to the letter, with no response whatsoever.

I attended Global Exchange Vacation Club timeshare seminar and was given incentive of obtaining gas coupons worth $100.00 if I mailed in the form given at the seminar. I mailed the form on 09/22/2008, the day after the seminar. Have not heard anything from this company.

Reward for visiting Time-Share presentation was $100 - to be submitted in $20 increments with a year (1 submission each month for 5 months.) I had to send a claim for coupons, which arrived several months after the first contact. I began submitting the individual coupons for $ 20 gas purchases as required with the paperwork properly filled out. To date, I have received NO REFUNDS. In going on the internet, I find many others, too, have been bilked.

I am beginning to wonder how the "powers that be" can allow this sort of thing to go on.
I am still trying to get my account to open for me so I can use it. I am divorced and raising 2 teens at my age of 74. I need all the help I can get, so what kind of deal is this?

My husband and I were also "ripped off" after attending Split Rock; we live in Florida, so I have sent a complaint to our State Atty General. I have sent a copy of the complaint letter to GAS UP AMERICA, as well, in the hopes that they will finally send my refunds. (Given them fair warning to make amends., but I do not have confidence that they will reply) Had I known, I would have saved myself the time and stamps in trying to get the refund in the first place! GAS UP should be put out of business and prosecuted.

I went to a Time Share showing at Millwood Landing at Millwood, Arkansas, August/September 2008, on the promise of a $100 gas card. After the presentation, we were given a coupon from Gas Up America. I sent in all the proper information and 4-5 weeks later I got a coupon book with 5 $20 coupons. I sent in a gas receipt for $100 and a coupon expecting $20 in 3 weeks. @ months later I was informed I didn’t meet ALL 16 requirements, but they did NOT say which one(s) I failed. As of March 25, 2009, I have submitted 4 and have gotten 2 responses saying I didn't meet ALL 16 requirements. I have called and left messages 6 - 7 times, written 4-5 letters requesting WHAT item or items were in error. I got 2 responses, both a form letter saying I missed 1 or more items, listing ALL 16 items but not telling me which one(s). All I have ever got back from Gas up America is a form letter saying that after reviewing the information that I submitted that I DID NOT follow the terms and conditions so they denied me the rebate. This Gas Up America is a ‘Total Rip Off’….

I recieve a $1o0.gas activation form at vacation charters on 9/6/08 mail it in as required.
I had to mail a letter to get the coupons mailed to me. Now I'm wondering I did it.
I also mail in two $20, gas receipts, each 30 days apart .
I have called there and only get an answering machine, I leave messages. So far no one has returned my calls. I don't understand why companys think they can get away with this kind of stuff. I mean if I use a credit card they have the last 4 number and can use them.
But since I use a gift card to get my gas at sam club or walmart, they can't get mine.
Vacation Charters are also to blame, as they don't take the time to check out they reward s.
I even ask if the paper was any good the man said "I don't know", this from a person that work for Vacation Charters.

Same thing happened to me. My guess is where it asks for "Sponsor". I had no idea how to answer that but there is no contact info to ask.

I have to disagree with Joe's comment re; Gas Up America. I did send in the paperwork way back on 08/22/08 and followed up again on 10/08/08 & 10/16/08. NO RESPONSE!. Today I left messages to them on the following numbers-[protected] & [protected]. I am giving them one week from today to get me my money or else my next letters go to the Attorney General of Florida, Virginia & Pennsylvania. I have informed the Gas Up America people that I hope they are not running a SCAM & I will hound them until the day I die or get my money!

I am attempting to contact them again today and will follow up with a letter to the Attorney General in the States of Florida and Pennsylvania.
